What's the batfam + Cobb's reaction to Jason coming back to Gotham post Ethiopia after being taken/trained by the LoA and thrown into a Lazarus Pit?
All out war between the League and the Court of Owls, probably. Depending on whether Talia is a good person in this au or not, they might go back to a truce (or not) rather quickly.
For one, Jason‘s still riding his Lazarus Pit high (and seeing Tim isn’t making it better), and two there was definitely some manipulation going on in the League. He‘d try to hit the Court (and Bruce) where it hurts. Or maybe just remove Tim to take back his rightful place. It‘s a bit of a toss up, really. (Mostly because Joker got eviscerated by Cobb already lol)
But ultimately Cobb… would track Jason down (a threat to his the family cannot stand) and be the first to find out who’s under the Red Hood. Jason is a good fighter, but he’s got nothing on a literal century old Talon.
Cobb would be shocked for sure, and after the initial moment of freezing up— he’d just kind of clasp Jason‘s shoulders and not let go. Maybe even hug him (he‘d definitely hug him. Cobb did not take Jason‘s death well). After this slightly awkward reunion Cobb would definitely lay into Jason for being stupid and attacking the family though, demanding he come back home right this instant (Cobb is ready to scruff Jason like a kitten if he has to. That boy is not leaving his sight for the foreseeable future.)
Jason refuses vehemently, still intent on getting… some kind of revenge for being replaced.
Cobb offers to kill Tim. (Sorry Timmy, the Talon just doesn’t like you very much yet. He‘ll get better tho don’t worry)
Thankfully that… doesn’t sit right with Jason either. (Tim‘s still a child. A kid. He can’t just— allow Cobb to kill him. Even though a part of him desperately wants to.)
So yeah, end of the story is that Jason gets dragged back to the manor (scruffed like a kitten) and Bruce almost passes out when a grown up version of his son shows up in his study, hissing and spitting insults at his nonplussed Talon.
After that it‘s just— tears. More cursing. A lot of hugs. Some yelling. (While Cobb pointedly refuses to show any feeling while simultaneously also refusing to step more than five feet away from Jason at any time.)
Alfred gets the shock of his life when he sees a grumpy Jason sitting at the breakfast table the next morning, sandwiched by Cobb and Bruce and complaining that he’s way too old to sleep in a bed with his two dads now.
Alfred is the one to think of informing both Tim and Dick about the miracle sitting at their kitchen table.
(Tim gets straight to work making his own funeral arrangements and writing up a will, expecting Cobb to turn up and gut him at any moment.)

Could not be more excited to finally share this with you and today is the day!
I was delighted to work with @freclface for @carry-on-big-bang this year. Thanks for capturing a great moment and for making sure my britishisms were up to snuff.
I’d also like to thank @aristocratic-otter for being a last minute beta. Couldn’t have done it without you.
Without further ado, I bring you the first 2 chapter of my COBB submission, Picket Fence Is Sharp As Knives:
Summary: Simon Snow reluctantly embarks on a renovation project at Pitch Manor, owned by Baz Pitch, his former school nemesis and ex-roommate. Despite initial reluctance, Simon finds himself drawn to Baz's unexpected kindness and the memories of their complicated past. As they navigate the restoration together, old tensions give way to a newfound understanding and undeniable chemistry. Simon begins to see Baz in a better light, noticing how time has softened his edges and maybe he's more than the unemotional statue he was a decade ago. When the dust of the renovation is settled, Simon wonders if it'll be the last time he sees Baz.

You know how in Robin Year One, after the Two Face incident and being taken Robin away from him, Dick headed out in the streets to crime bust on his terms which caught the attention of an underground school for training assassins?
Well what if instead of that school….it was the Court of Owls and the man who instead was approaches Dick to offer him enhanced training to react justice on Two Face…was William Cobb, not in Talon suit?
Hi 💜
So I went and reread the last two issues of Robin Year one and while out-of-universe, the court of Owl didn't exist at that time, in-universe, both Dick and Bruce got so lucky nothing like that happened.
Would Dick have gone with him if Cobb tried to gain his trust ? Because the impression I got was that he followed Strike and the revenge school of assassins because he was suspicious and other kids were involved, One guy trying to get him to come with him might have done the opposite and made him run in the other direction.
1) if he does and manage to escape, then Dick might be in a situation where he is on the run from the Court, completely sad because Bruce fired him and not sure if he should go back here with Two-face out and about also at the same time. That's a lot for a 10 to 12 years old. In that scenario, I think maybe Dick goes home to Bruce sooner because he realize he is way over his head sooner.
What's interesting about that is that with the kidnapping attempt, the Court of Owl is on Bruce's radar (again) way way way sooner than usual and Dick has a bigger target on his back now that they know about the Court of Owl.
2) The second scenario is Dick decides to go because he is suspicious like Strike and accidentally on purpose infiltrates the Court which is so fun too considering we know Brainwashing would be coming for him so the question becomes can he stay on that idea of infiltration through that ? At 10 to 12 ? That sounds like such a fun concept (although a bit horrifying considering he is 10 to 13). Can he find a way to contact Bruce and get that information out ? I have a feeling if he did that, Bruce might have a heart-attack and just decide to rescue him regardless of Dick's choice to infiltrate ?
3) The third scenario, which is it's a kidnapping attempt and it's successful, the question becomes: can Dick break free (either by escaping and/or break free of the brainwashing) ? For me yes, is a funner answer but what's interesting is when ? Does he escape the Labyrinth a la Bruce and run back to Wayne manor after being tortured? Does he break free from the Talons after he is turned ?
The second question of the scenario is what is Bruce doing ?
I think a lot of this would depends on Bruce a lot ? In Robin Year one, we don't have Bruce's pov but from Alfred's point of view, Bruce is not looking for Dick when he runs off... Which, it feels a little bit out of character for Bruce I cannot for the life of me be normal about Dick Grayson Wayne.
In my opinion, Bruce was probably investigating Two-Face so intensely because he thought that would lead him to Dick (in my own little headcanon).
So in that scenario we have Bruce getting Two-face and realizing he won't find Dick that way and I'm guessing investigating more which might put him on the Court of Owl's track so now we have a race against time on whether Bruce can find Dick before the Court does its thing with the CoO one step ahead. That's so interesting too ? It would be a bit of a thriller honestly, that would be so fun.
4) the fourth scenario which is Bruce wasn't actually looking for Dick at all, we might get to see Talon!Dick goes after Bruce later on (if I was a secret society who had a talon that was knowledgeable on Batman and with who batman has an emotional attachment, I would definitely send him after Batman) and him going after Bruce and seeing what Batman does as a superhero might be the trigger to debrainwash him.
I had so much fun with that ask, I'm so sorry for writing a bit of a novel !! But this AU is so good !!
Thank you so much 💜

An ask game for writers to procrastinate working on your WIP(s)
Hey all! Thanks so much for tagging me @wellbelesbian, @aristocratic-otter, @valeffelees, @you-remind-me-of-the-babe, @ivelovedhimthroughworse and @iamamythologicalcreature! You’ve all correctly determined that I am procrastinating writing.
1. 🐬Tell us the name of your/ one of your WIP(s)
I actually don’t have any that are named at this point. Titles and tags are really difficult for me and I put both off to the last minute and second-guess myself into hell
2. 🍄Decriscribe your wip/one of your wips in the format of “___ + ___=___”
Popular movie retelling + flying goats = Baz and Dev have A Spot of Bother
3. 🌍What tags or warnings will your / one of your wip(s) need if you intend to share it?
Wraaaugugh, see #1 :P. I don’t know, in seriousness, I think the WIP mentioned above will end up getting a tag for sexual harassment or something like that given the nature of one necessary scene in the movie it’s based on. It’s not going to be worse than the source material, which is PG-13
4. 🧭An alternative title to your/ one of your WIP(s)?
Oh, to have so many ideas for titles that there’s ever an alternative lying around to spare :(
5. ⚠️Which wip your most likely to finish or update next?
I’m pretty likely to finish a sequel to Field Trip of Dreams (SEE WHAT I MEAN about titles?) this week. The eighth years are off on another field trip—this time it’s a weekend training excursion with the Mage. Baz and Simon have been dating for the short time that’s passed since FToD, but they manage to get in a fight on the bus trip to Scafell Pike, and when it turns into a sort-of-tussle the Mage mistakes it for actual animosity and sends them off to a secluded cabin to bang (I mean work🙄) it out. Absolutely everybody but Davy—including the other teachers—knows exactly how much of a punishment” this is
6. 💾 What is your document of your wip/ a wip called? (not the stories actual title but what you've saved it as)
Practical magic au
7. 🖍️Post Any sentence from your wip
“Shut up, Gareth!” we shout as one, Snow adding a few brutish threats as Gareth pales and turns back around in his seat.
8. ♻️A scrapped idea for your current WIP
I actually can’t remember. I don’t plot my writing out very extensively so in a sense there’s hundreds of little scrapped thoughts rather than anything huge. I’m eliminating a lot of things with my crucible marriage fic, but it’s hard to say right now what’s actually gone or just being moved around. I know a major one I’ve been battling with is that prior to getting dragged off to Pitch Manor by his new husband Baz, I want Simon to have been living with Penny in a flat of their own, but for another aspect of the story I want him to have been living with the Mage in Watford (which is an au mage’s settlement in the fic) as well. There’s ways to work around it for the results I want, I just haven’t written it out yet.
9. 🤔What's a story you'd love to write but haven't even started yet?
I’m pretty sure I have at least a few lines written down for everything I want to write
10. 🤡How many Wips are you actively working on?
Oh, man…actively, probably the field trip one and my COBB. Somewhat less actively: a reverse COBB fic, a sequel to Monsters Under the Bed, a sequel to After Hours where Simon makes good on his promise to despoil Baz on his office desk, and my unending crucible marriage fic. Less active than that: a fic response to a prompt for Simon being the one kidnapped and Baz has to rescue him. There’s probably (cough*definitely*cough) some pretty messed-up OOC smut stuff lying around in my docs as well, that I add to when I’m in the mood and have zero plans to ever post
11. 🛠️Is there a scene or anything in the WIP you are struggling with right now?
I keep telling myself to just write and stop worrying about this for the moment, but I’m kind of bumming myself out worrying about whether I want to use first or third person, as well as past or present tense, for my COBB. I think the issue is that some scenes are bound to play out better one way while others would be better served differently. This is not usually a thing I struggle with.
12. ❤️Not a question, just a second kudos to send.
🥰
This was fun! (Once I stopped putting it off, lol). No pressure tagging (and sorry if I get anyone who’s already done it): @cutestkilla, @mooncello, @artsyunderstudy, @prettygoododds, @drowninginships, @hushed-chorus, @bookish-bogwitch, @thewholelemon, @brilla-brilla-estrellita, @youarenevertooold, @ileadacharmedlife, @facewithoutheart, @imagineacoolusername, @ic3-que3n

I listened to the Thiala fight while watching Frozen 2: a research study
Idea curtesy of Alli @operationslipperypuppet
Spoilers for Frozen 2 and the Bahumia finale beneath the cut!
I am more than aware no one asked me to do this. But I have nothing better to do with my time, so, to quote the wise words of a gameshow host: without further ado let’s begin.
Research Question and Methods:
I’m not a science person by any means, but I feel it best to approach this in an academic manor. My research question was “How well do Frozen 2 and the Thiala fight line up?” and my methods for finding this answer was to play them both at the same time. I started the podcast at the time stamp 58:48, (thank you Alli for providing that) which is when Murph calls for the rolling of initiative, and I skipped past the opening credits of Frozen 2, pressing play on the movie on the 47 second mark.
My findings:
Here is a brief list describing the moments that lined up best between Frozen 2 and the Thiala fight.
Hardwon deals 297 points of damage while in Frozen 2 the land of the Northuldra is covered in a fog that traps everyone inside.
Galad shows up at the same time that the title for Frozen 2 appears on screen.
There is a comment made about how Galad needs to blow his nose, and simultaneously Anna touches Olafs nose on screen.
The Old Cobb flashback is very stressful but makes for a much better listening experience than what the movie wants you to be listening to at this time, which is Olafs “When I’m Older”song. Old Cobb is being hurt while Olaf is being… not hurt per se but put in situations for sure
The Galad attack that drops Hardwon in the same way Galad killed his father happens at the same time as Olaf talks about Elsa and Anna’s parents dying
Galad dies before Olaf, during the lost in the woods song in Frozen 2
Murph explains how Thiala lost humanity and gained control of full god powers as Elsa tames the water ice horse
I was hoping Thiala second form would happen with Elsa’s outfit change but unfortunately that’s not what happened
Spirit shroud happens as Olaf dies
There is a swing and a crit on Hardwon as the dam in Frozen 2 breaks
Erlin comes back at the same time as Elsa
Conclusion:
How well do Frozen 2 and the Thiala fight line up? Well… not great. This may be due in part to the way I synchronized the pieces, I wonder if I should have watched the opening credits of Frozen 2 instead of skipping them, or instead of starting from the call for initiative worked backwards from the time stamp the Thiala fight ends so I could make sure the two pieces of media were exactly the same length. As it stands Frozen 2 is about 10-15 minutes shorter than the Thiala fight, depending on whether or not you count the credits of Frozen 2.
I had a very fun time doing this experiment though! I genuinely love both Frozen 2 and NADDPod so this was great. If anyone wants to run this same study and see if they get the same results, or change the method a bit to see if it lines up better please do so and let me know how it goes!

Writeblr - ReIntroduction
Howdy howdy! I figured I'd type one of these out again because I'm trying to be more active on here, and also pushing myself to indulge in my passion for writing again... this helped last time, so I may as well give it another shot.
My name is Milo (he/xe) and I'm an aspiring author. I've always loved writing, and there's never been a point in my life where I didn't want to write in some capacity. It's easy for me to succumb to writer's block, but writing makes me happy and I want to be able to share what I create.
About Me
I'm a 21 year old (very gay) transman from Canada, and I want so badly to be able to travel to other parts of the world one day.
I'm a D&D nerd. When I struggle with a writing project, I often fall back on expanding my D&D worlds/characters. It's my safety net.
My career is in film. I work in the Art Department, mainly in props, and am working towards maybe becoming a Production Designer one day. Film work is a competing passion of mine, and you'll definitely find posts of me talking about work.
Like most other authors, I love weird shit, and you'll find a lot of weird stuff in my writing. Weird Fantasy is my favourite kind of genre.
In my writing you'll find themes of 2SLGTBQIA+, found family, fighting destiny, struggling under mega-corps/capitalism, nature vs nurture, self-discovery, different kinds of love, slightly unsettling surroundings, and weird lil monsters/freaky dudes.
My Current Projects
I have two writing projects going on right now. One I had to put on the backburner because I had written myself into a corner. The story wasn't progressing or flowing the way I had envisioned/planned, and I ended up getting more stressed than excited to write it. The other is one more laid-back for me to write. (Keep in mind, these short descriptions may be subject to change in the future)
The Strings of Willis Manor: Thistle Willis is sick. Her condition leaves her confined to the property of Willis Manor; a sprawling estate with lush gardens, dusty libraries, and secret corridors. At her attendance is Clementine (an automata handmaid, who was created with the sole purpose of tending to Thistle) and Andromeda Marrow (Thistle's childhood best friend). When her father doesn't return from a business trip to the South, Thistle's mother begins to fear the worst. In an effort to find a cure for her daughter, and establish Thistle as the head of the family business, Mama hires a Healer from an unknown land. But this cloaked Healer isn't who they say they are, and Thistle begins to uncover what really may be going on in the house she thought she could call home.
(Backburner) - Beneath Tattered Flesh: In the hissing, polluted, Magic, and bronze city of Ritec, Caesar Dampton is trying to move forward. He's trying to get over a bad break-up, make ends meet, and help his best friend - Emersyn Riley - find her place in the world. Between running away from his ex, and trying to figure out what he wants to do with his life, Caesar is stuck in a downward spiral. Newt Gourdeau got the chance of a lifetime; a full scholarship to Verne Cobb University. Leaving their small town behind, they carved out a life for themself in the city of opportunities. They're trying to bury their problems in mystery novels, university studies, and attempting to find a scientific reason as to why some people in this world have Magic, while others don't. Their obsessions leave them in solitude for days. But when the unlikely pair see similar tragic events happen at the same time, but in different parts of the city, they stumble into each other's lives. Manipulation and death follow the two at every step, but they're both determined to get to the bottom of a gruesome mystery unfolding in the city... or die trying.
What I'm Looking For
As you could probably already tell, I'm not awesome at keeping myself "on schedule", which is code for "I sometimes let my life/anxiety/career/whatever eat away at my passion for writing and I'll abandon it for several months a time". Having a place to post updates, or even just little rambles, really helps me out.
So in all honesty, if you're interested in what you see, then feel free to stick around! I'd love to chat, do fun word tags, and just be in a community of like-minded people.
Thanks for reading!

Signs Of The Past
A @carry-on-big-bang collab with @palimpsessed
Find the art here
Rating: Teen and up Word count: 11k Tags: Alternate Universe - Historical, late 1890s England, not historically accurate, cursed!baz, Enemies to Friends to Lovers, Angst with a Happy Ending, Hurt/Comfort, Slow Burn, haunted house vibes, Insomnia, mentions/discussions of death
Simon lifted his shaking hand, pointing the switchblade at the man slowly backing away. “That man—He—The cabinet—” Simon stumbled over his words, unable to get a coherent sentence out. Ebb’s gaze followed the pointed tip of the blade, but as she turned back to him, her brows only creased with worry as she slightly shook her head. “Simon, calm. There’s no one there,” she said, her voice meek as lowered his hand. “What, no—He—” As Simon’s gaze snapped back to where the man had just stood, all he had been met with was an empty kitchen.
Simon is a down on his luck twenty year old, struggling to survive on the streets after he was thrown out of the orphanage with no higher education or a job to fall back on. So, when he stumbles onto an ad, promising a handyman job at the Pitch Manor, one that offers him not only money but also a place to stay, Simon takes it without a second thought. But as he begins his work for David Cadwallader, the owner of the estate, things quickly begin going sideways; the house is never quiet, groaning at night as if it is alive, lamps lighting up with no one around, and most unsettling of all, a ghostly figure that seems intent on scaring Simon into an early grave.
A massive massive thank you goes out to Pal, who created incredible art for the first chapter, as well as the cobb mods for putting this entire even together. Putting this together has been a pleasure :)

Option 1:
Enemy: Akarot (vest) and Dwarven Assassins
Episode: C1 E88: Faithless
Time: 36:17-1:26:55
Finish: Mavrus (assassin), Balnor (Akarot), Egwene (both champions)
Notes: Apple is down an arm, Mavrus is alone with three people he doesn’t know who also think he might be dating Bev. Moonshine swears off healing, Hardwon meets Hardtwo. Cobb makes a joke that is also flirting with Mavrus a bit. Early example of a more than one location Murph Encounter. Jake also rolls for Cobb and gets a nat 20. Again.
Propaganda: from @misslevel: Akarot fight is intercut with Mav and the Goo Gone Gang fighting assassins in Irondeep AND Bev revivifying Erlin and finding out about Pelor, so if you really think about it these are all part of a single Bahumia-spanning amazing encounter. Murph doesn’t neglect his players even during a party split!!! Also shout out to Siobhan for sticking Apple's arm in that box with zero hesitation or metagaming.
Option 2:
Enemy: Wyatt and Ambrose Montgomery
Episode: C1 E64: The Cybin Siblings
Time: 1:36:33-2:16:15 (TR note: if you do listen, don’t actually stop there, listen to Deadeye’s goodbye).
Finish: JV (Wyatt), Moonshine (Ambrose)
Notes: Paw Paw’s first battle (as Deadeye’s hand)! Bortram dies after Ambrose obliterates him. Moonshine drowns Scarlet in her coffin, and there’s a moment where it looks like that may mean Hardwon can only avenge their deaths. JV uses zealous presence which rules. Deadeye runs into melee because Moonshine goes down. Brennan has a pro-bono rules lawyer moment after Bev nat 20s on a death save. There are EIGHT (8) PC nat 20s. And 5 from Murph. Just in this fight.
Propaganda: (anonymous) This fight is rad because it’s the cumulation of the whole Grimhawk arc and it’s the party accomplishing the goals they had upon entering the manor. Murph also establishes the stakes easily by getting Bortram in the first round, showing how bad it could get without outright killing a PC. Also vampire fights kind of always rule.

Hello friends. Is it me, posting before midnight on a Sunday?
It is! The benefits of being on break for the last week. But it's back to the grind tomorrow, sigh.
Thank you to @blackberrysummerblog, @you-remind-me-of-the-babe, @captain-aralias, @facewithoutheart, @artsyunderstudy, @thehoneyedhufflepuff, @j-nipper-95 @larkral and @hushed-chorus for the tags.
It's not yet midnight for me, but it's late for nearly everyone else. I'll send tags at least to other west coast peeps and hellos to a few other friends!
Tagging @palimpsessed, @fatalfangirl, @carryonsimoncarryonbaz, @yellobb-old, @frjsti, @bazzybelle, @bookish-bogwitch, @erzbethluna, @ic3-que3n, @ivelovedhimthroughworse, @moments-au-crayon22, @raenestee, @tea-brigade, @theearlgreymage, @twinkle-twinkle-up-above, @upuntil6am
Excerpts under the cut!
From: Saving Simon Snow (hopefully will start posting this week!)
“I just mean…well, we’re two eighteen year old blokes. It’s not like we’re going to be having a family to fill all that space. Doesn’t your family own anything…smaller?”
I chuckle. “I’m afraid not, Snow. Just the manor in Hampshire, the Hunting Lodge here, and a vacation home in the South of France. The Pitch family trust owns Fiona’s flat if you want to move into her spare bedroom,” I add, mischievously.
He pales slightly and says, “Pass, thanks. I’d like to keep my bollocks where they are.”
From my COBB for this year:
Baz is sitting at his desk, his back to me as I enter. He doesn’t even flinch when I slam the door shut behind me, just continues moving his pen across the page. Revising, as is his usual in the evenings. I swear Baz has no life outside of plotting against me.
“Ha!” I shout. “Deny it now, fucker!”
Baz turns slowly, lifting his eyebrow at me. He doesn’t speak, but his expression says plenty.
“Deny that you’ve gone ‘round the bend, Snow? You’re right, I truly can’t deny that.”
From: Westward Son
Physically, he’s tough as nails. But mentally, he’s like a wounded bird. And yeah, I know that’s an ironic description, given the wings and all. But when I look into his eyes lately, he reminds me of a wing-shot falcon I found in the fields once. Some hunter had brought the proud creature down for no fucking reason; it’s not like falcons are good eating. I’ll never forget the look on the bird's face. Fierce and feral, terrified and trapped.
Simon’s eyes have looked like that lately.
From: Raising Dragons
I think my theory about hormones and being overwrought has been borne out, because eventually, he’s cried out and lying limp against my chest, half dozing. I gently lower us to the bed, not ceasing my words or caresses, but the moment his head touches the pillow, his eyes pop open again.
“How do you know?” he whispers to me.
“How do I know what?”
“How do you know I’ll be a good father? How can you know that?”
I push him away from me enough that I can look into his eyes when I speak. “I know, Simon, because I know you.”
From: To Heal a Broken Mind:
“That—that really sucks, you know?” he mumbles into the fabric of my shirt.
I smile a little, and say, “I assume you mean the seizure and not the snogging.”
Simon snorts a laugh and than smiles into my eyes. “The snogging was brilliant. I’d rather like to do it again.”
I can feel my chest swelling with happiness at that. “When we get home, we can discuss it,” I smirk at him, trying to hide the way I’m melting at his words..
“I’ll hold you to that,” he grins. “But maybe without the discussion part.”
From an extremely secret project (I can't believe I found a bit that was spoiler free enough to share!):
“Hello,” says a voice in what I’d call sultry tones, if I were fully human. Then the owner of the voice dissolves in giggles for a moment. A few seconds later, apparently recovering themselves, they continue. “We’re having a little bit of trouble. And a whole lot of fun. Won’t you come and…level up with us?” The smokiness of her tone over the words ‘level up’ make it a euphemism, I’m fairly sure. I’m not sure for what. For sexual congress perhaps?
And, yes, once again I have six WIPs. But Dragons is nearly done and Saving Simon Snow is more than 2/3s done, so maybe I'll be down to five again soon? I still need to start my COTTA for this year!

The Breath Book of Boba Fett of the Wild. (the same Zelda engine but on Tatooine? running about as Fennec Shand or Boba? Unlocking other space friends as the game advances, like Cobb Vanth or the Wookie or the cyborg hipsters or Mando?)
also Stardew Lockwood & Co? I would play that game. Your cute little manor, banishing ghosts, gathering cursed things. All chibi-style.

Keep going I want everything *holds up a note pad* give me angst
*slides glasses up higher*
Okay, you asked for it! Get ready for some really cracky ship content on the side of more Court Family au!
Bruce grows up learning high society and Court etiquette mostly from Alfred and some trustworthy Court members and quickly decides that some things need to change. (He may be morally flexible here but he still wants to change things for the better). He still puts up the Brucie mask in front of High Society, but now he does it with the goal to gather blackmail material from as many people as possible and indebt them to him for potential use down the line.
Bruce becomes Voice of the Court when he turns eighteen and immediately starts uprooting several of the more corrupt members of the Court, instating new people into the ranks that will benefit the city as a whole. He makes some enemies this way, naturally. And soon after the Cout’s Talon is tasked with Bruce’s safety at all times.
Bruce and Cobb do NOT get along. At all. Mostly because Bruce is determined to make Talon’s life even harder by trying to slip away from his sight every other second. It’s infuriating. Cobb considers literally sitting on the guy after only one week. (“Try bailing on me now, o’ honorable Voice”)
Bruce spends several months strategically implementing new laws and projects that will benefit the Court AND Gotham in the long run, making it a point to go to the most important meetings in person, even if they happen to be between criminals. (Cobb was so, SO tempted to let Black Mask shoot the idiot that day.)
Within two years human trafficking is close to nonexistent in Gotham City, lethal crime is down a good ten percent (which isn’t much in the grand scheme of things but for Gotham it’s almost biblical) and whispers of “Batman” are omnipresent. (Cobb considers asking if slapping his Voice would be considered treason but… it probably would. Even though Bruce really deserves it with such a stupid cover name. Owls HUNT bats… couldn’t he have chosen Owlman?)
(“What’s your name, anyway?” Bruce asks one day, flipping his tie into a neat Windsor knot that’s just passable enough to not be considered sloppy. “I am the Talon of the Court, my Voice.” Bruce hums, one elegant eyebrow raising in the stark reflection of the mirror, “No, your real name.” “It’s whatever you wish it to be, my Voice.” “You know what I mean, Talon. If you do not wish to answer, then I will not make you. But do not play me for a fool.” “… Cobb. William Cobb.” Bruce blinks, the left corner of his mouth tugging upwards, “Will… I see.”)
The first time a traitor nearly succeeds in killing Bruce is when he once again slips away from the Talon’s sight, and while Bruce is still well trained he’s no match against five people with guns, sedatives, and a mission. Cobb finds them right as they’re about to shoot Bruce in the head and goes absolutely feral. (He hates Bruce, he hates Bruce, he hates Bruce, he hates-)
Bruce wakes up back at the manor with a pissed off Talon standing in the corner of the room, keeping watch and refusing to talk to him anymore beyond what he’s ordered to. Sneaking away from the Talon after this becomes virtually impossible for Bruce.
Cobb keeps giving Bruce the cold shoulder for months to the point where Bruce becomes genuinely concerned, but the Court scientists assure him that their Talon is running at a 100% capacity. (That’s not what I’m asking, Bruce wants to scream. I want to know if he’s okay.)
(Cobb wasn’t worried, he wasn’t. He watched countless humans die in so much worse ways already. Inflicted worse himself. It’s just because he almost failed his mission and allowed the Voice to be killed that he’s so unnerved now. That must be it. That’s all it is. That’s all.)
Dick’s parents fall and Bruce is up and out of his seat the next second, pushing through the masses until he can clutch at the child and cover his eyes, shielding him from the view of his parents’ dead bodies. Social Services never get to put their hands on Dick Grayson.
The Court is ecstatic. Cobb is ecstatic. From tragedy, opportunity blooms like a rose with poisonous thorns, and the Talon stands ready to take on his apprentice as the Court broaches the subject with Bruce.
But Bruce (idiotic, stupid, bleeding-heart Bruce) refuses point blank. (“He’s a child,” Bruce says. Like that means anything. They were all children, once. He’ll grow out of it quickly enough. And the boy will make an excellent Talon, perhaps even surpass Cobb himself, with time and training. Maybe more capable at keeping the Voice safe than him, too. But then Bruce says, “He’s my child. My ward. And any of you who think to go against me will answer to the Talon and myself.” And, oh, damn you, Bruce. Damn you. But what else is Cobb to do but lift his head and stare down the Voice’s subject in silent challenge, daring them to object? Bruce is his Voice. Talon will never not side with the Court’s voice. (He pointedly does not think of the time he slit another Voice’s throat. He does not.))
Dick is anger and fury and sunshine and it drives Cobb crazy. The raw potential that is lost with Bruce’s refusal to allow him to train the boy… he cannot stand it. There will be another Talon before long (Cobb is not bitter about it, he is not) and with Dick the protection of the Voice would have at least stayed within the line of Cobb’s blood, but now… now Cobb can’t be sure the new Talon will take their task as seriously as the boy would have.
Dick is the one to approach Cobb for training before he ever goes to Bruce
Bruce nearly has a heart attack the first time he finds Dick training with the Talon, ripping the boy away and screaming at Cobb for nearly an hour about “orders” and “NOT a Talon” and many other things Dick doesn’t really get
Bruce asks Talon to bring him Zucco’s head and Cobb will forever deny the vindictive pleasure he felt when watching the smarmy man squirm and beg for his life (he didn’t get fond of Dick. Cobb doesn’t do fond. He hates him almost as much as he hates Bruce, thank you and good day.)
… okay I just realized none of this really qualifies as angst but— somehow this post got away from me. I’m sorry 😭😭😭 feel free to ask for more specific angst content tho? 🙏

PERSONALITY:

BIOGRAPHY:
Pandora is the youngest of the Nott siblings. A pureblood family of the sacred twenty-eight that heavily believed in the cause. From a young age it was apparent that she was not like the rest of them, a uniqueness that led to her being called odd and peculiar. It wasn't until she was old enough to understand that it wasn't a good thing; deciding she didn't care.
She didn't have a lot of friends growing up, considering the society events they would attend as a family, she found herself drifting to the outskirts to be alone, captivated into what always held her attention - magic
It was entering in Hogwarts that she found it the hardest to be accepted, being sorted into Slytherin, she tended to keep in the shadows and found in the towers at night. It was learning more about magic that her abilities grew, most not believing what she told them. When it comes to magic pandora can feel when it's being used, giving off a warmth or coldness, and when she is looking at cursed objects or spells starting to form, they are like weaved threads of different colours, which allows her to manipulate them into her own spells.
Anything magic related held her attention in school, a few professors taking her under their wing to help her abilities grow, curious to see what she could do.
There had always been a fascination for the Dark Arts, not for the reason others might, but there was something about the magic that could keep her engaged for hours, trying to figure out who it all worked. That is what led her to working at Cobb and Webb's when she left Hogwarts and continued her studies in all aspects of magic outside.
Her being Death Eater aligned rests solely on her families beliefs, not wanting to create anymore turmoil between them since she wasn't a normal witch to their standards.

Lilly Cobb
This was a request for Waldorkler, a short story involving their OC. Thanks for the request!

Lilly Cobb
The vapors of a dream drifted up from the dying embers of a violet cigar; the various aristocratic faces caught in the curling tails of smoke began to fade as the young Lilly Cobb stirred. She had fallen asleep in the parlor, lying face first on an antique settee, patterned in wilting silk flowers. Her cigar holder rested precariously between two thin fingers, threatening to catch the rug on fire. She couldn’t decide if the mansion set ablaze would be an awful way to go or not, there was something appealing with the idea of the Cobb Estate pershing in a glorious blaze with it’s last remaining occupant. Yet, she thought again that perhaps it should remain standing as the largest mausoleum in history, a hollow symbol that stood for the loss of an entire lineage.
The Cobb family had been cursed. The entire bloodline had slowly began to vanish, as one by one each member had perished, until the sole remaining member was the young Lilly Cobb. Lilly was not a lonely girl, for whatever reason, the spirits of her late family still roamed the estate. It was not quite the same as when they had been alive, the large estate that had been filled with the constant bustle of life was quieter now, but even so she was never in want for company.
Lilly stretched and pulled the twirls and tangles from her long lavender hair, retrieving her lacy head wear that had fallen to floor. She collected herself, lit another cigar, and began to explore the mansion to see if she could find any of her family and discover what they might be up to. With no purpose in her mind, she eventually came to the nursery. It was made up of two large, adjoining rooms. One was the play area and the other filled with bassinets and small beds. She admired the room that had once held her and many small cousins for generations. She noticed some toys were strewn about the floor and one of the rocking chairs was slowly coming to a stop. Oddly enough, the room was empty. Emptier than a home filled with wandering spirits could be, that is. It was strange, but she moved on chasing the phantom smell of something cooking downstairs.
China lined the entire length of the long dining table. The other banquet tables had been brought out and were also set up, as if to reenact a family gathering. As of late this display was something normally that was reserved only for the rare guests, that occasionally wandered into the mansion. The faint smell of food she had followed downstairs was gone and the dishes remained as vacant as the chairs set before them. Interesting.
The members of Lilly’s families all spent the afterlife in their own way. Some liked to try to rekindle the pleasures or habits they had had when they were alive, with varying levels of success. It was difficult to imbibe earthly pleasures when one was essentially hollow, after all. Others had not taken as well to their new state, despite being in the warm presence of family. They wallowed in their sorrow or madness and displayed uncouth or even violent tendencies. Yet, Lilly only had a smile waiting for them, because what else could she do. Today it seemed she’d find no one in the dining room or kitchen areas so she moved on again.
Before she could return upstairs she saw a flash of light and made a new discovery of her old home. The flickering light illuminated an invisible space between the wall. She ran her fingers over the floral wallpaper until she felt air hit her finger tips. She gave the wall a gentle push, something clicked and the door came open. A gleeful surge came over her as she entered the narrow passage. It was completely dark except for a glowing ball at her feet. It must have rolled down the path and created the light she had seen, the crystal orb bumping on the uneven floorboards. She picked it up and found it was very cold, it’s innards swirling with a pretty white smoke. She used it to light her way down the hall that had more turns than she was anticipating. Lilly followed on, barely able to make out some old portraits of family members she had never seen before. Other odd trinkets like clocks or a compasses were also encased in shadow boxes on the wall, defeating their purpose.
Eventually she came to a room and saw a glowing claw on the table that must hold the orb she carried. She placed it into the hand and the room lit up with star light. Tiny lights began to twinkle throughout the room, a candelabra and sconces on the wall ignited with soft flames until the room was bright with flickering pastel shades of blue, green, lavender, pink and orange-red flames. Now she could see all that awaited her in the room.
Books lined shelves that encircled the room in all the languages of the world, and some that were a world apart. Small herbs and mushrooms grew in a garden that thrived in darkness. Rocks with strange symbols and crystals of all kinds were sorted into slots and glass vials. Cabinets were filled with jars and objects that were labeled with numbers and letters. There was more too, in chests and in alcoves, hanging from the wall and ceilings. All of it, the entire room carried a smell she had never known until now, but she knew it surely, Magic.
Uncertain of how much life she had left to claim Lilly was ecstatic at the prospect of this new hobby.  What girl wouldn’t want to study the wonders and potential esoteric horrors of magic? It was determined instantly in Lilly Cobb’s mind that she would become a witch. That task would be proven easier said than done, shortly.
The first part was organizing, she had to sort the piles of notes and books into an order she could use. First were the books that were written in languages she could understand, and those were sorted into what contents she could even begin to comprehend. This severely narrowed down the resources she could use, but that was helpful in it’s own way. Finally she settled down into trying to decode the notes and books, taking notes of her own. Trying to break the frustrating shorthand took hours, and Lilly found herself tired before even beginning to reach the lower branches understanding. She closed her books and rubbed her eyes. She went off to find food or rest, whichever came to her first, carefully closing the passage behind her, in case any relatives had any ideas about disorganizing her notes. As she began to make her way upstairs once again, she heard a voice.
“Lilly,” It called to her in a high feminine voice she did not recognize. She approached the hand calling from a darkened corridor at the end of a hall. “This should help you.” The voice told her, handing over a blue book with silver moon embossed on it’s moleskin surface. Lilly looked up from the book to say thank you, but the darkness had vanished and so had the pale reaching hand. It must have been a relative she hadn’t met she reasoned, and thought that they might have had something to do with the crystal ball that lead her to the secret room in the first place. After all it was unlikely that ball had rolled off the table and through all those twists and turns on its own.
The next time Lilly entered the room she had the blue book, and when she opened it things began to click. It was written as guide for someone without understanding, and contained an index of simple enchantments and spells. Lilly found the idea of a new wardrobe appealing, specifically for when she was here in the Witches’ Lair. It was as good a starting point as any.
Following the instructions carefully, reading them three or four times, Lilly took spider’s silk from a vial and placed it on old spinning wheel. Chanting a few clumsy words while touching it’s surface, it began to work on it’s own and would make the process far easier. When it gave her piles and piles of gossamer thread, far more than she should have been able to yield. She placed the soft, silky pile carefully on a dressforms’, headless, neck and began to envision what it was she wanted. But first she would need a wand.
She took her cigar holder, and dipped it into a smoking poultice she had made from strange herbs with strange symbols in their names. Then she held it over a flame until the whole of it turned burning orange, yet it never warped or turned to ash. She whispered a few words, and a small puff of visible air came from her lips wrapped around the holder and began to spark. She took it between her fingers, held it up to the mass of thread, ready to test that she had done everything correctly.
She said the words that needed saying, and the thread began to work it’s way down the form like water. She played with the layers, moving her wand like a conductor, shifting the shape this way and that. Finally, with sweat fresh on her brow she was finished. She took the outfit from the dress form and slipped it on, it had an icy burn from the fresh magic still crawling over it’s stitching. Lilly stood before the mirror and admired herself, a proper conical hat with a wide brim and a dress that lightly sparkled, maintaining the webbed pattern from the spider’s silk, with flowing sleeves. The outfit was of course purple, and brought out the stunning shade of her features.
Tired, but overjoyed in her success, Lilly retired her spellcraft for today. Cleaning up her newfound workspace,  she felt eager to to begin conquering her next feat. One a little more difficult, not to mention dangerous. She could already picture it, sailing over the estate, casting a shadow over the moonlit graves.
A few weeks had past, but Lilly was finally ready. With a flick of her wand her cannon began to glow and spark. She had tried to enchant this thing a few times before, and each time at this stage it always went wrong. The last attempt had nearly destroyed the cannon. This time she knew she had it, without breaking connection, she lifted her arms up and then brought them down commanding a cascade of energy onto the cannon. She caught her breath, looking at the cannon, before grinning. This was it.
Lilly Cobb adjusted her cannon skyward before sliding her legs in. She angled herself over the rim while pointing her cigar holder-wand back at the fuse. With a single word the fuse ignited, and so too did the young girl’s heart. She settled into the cannon and looked up at the sparkling sky. She closed her eyes, took a serene breath and felt the blast begin at her feet. The boom of thunder, the crack of lightning, and Lilly flew across the horizon. Up and up the magic carried her until the heat of the had blast faded away. Lilly kept her eyes on the stars, the world leagues behind her, and smiled again. Soon she would be among the cosmos. A dying smoke trail and a faint twinkle beside the moon would be all that was left behind.
