EVIE SMITH [ ELIZABETH HENSTRIDGE FC ]
BASICS:
age: 32 species: alien - humanoid mutant occupation: doctor romantic/sexual orientation: pansexual/romantic
ABOUT:
♦ Evie works at the same hospital as Martha and Rory, and is basically only an insider due to the fact that, well, they came through the rift – a refugee intent on making a better life for their child. Nobody knows about their status as alien, and they intend to keep it that way. Or at least that’s the plan. But as everyone in the whoniverse knows, things very rarely go according to plan.
♦ though she tries very hard to keep under the radar and away from all things rift/alien related (she really just wants to give her daughter a chance at a life she can’t have), her daughter Millie actually just started this past september at coal hill academy – the home of the very rift the mother/daughter duo snuck through – thus putting her in a position where she (and her daughter) are forced to interact with people she thinks might be involved in all the alien business. she’d considered kicking up a fuss in order to get her daughter into another school district, but she didn’t want to draw any extra attention to them – rule # 1 of being an alien refugee? keep a low profile. ♦ picked her current alias by doing a quick google search and picking at random a first and last name from the list of top 100 most common names in the uk. the more generic the name the better, she figured. but she hadn’t exactly counted on being surrounded by quite so many smiths when she’d chosen it. better to be boring than tracked down by the blorgon mafia, yeah? ♦ she is of a humanoid alien race which has a mutation gene that allows them to take on the form of whatever sentient creature that makes contact with her bare skin. she can control this power, a little bit, by slowing down the process– but so long as there is contact she will take on the physical structure of the being (conversely once contact is broken she is able to return to her natural form), though she is able to hold this mutation as long as she likes it does come with a cost – she is able to see the future of whoever’s entity she wears, and that is very rarely a good thing.
personality:
☑ caring, courageous, intelligent, enthusiastic. ☒ cautious, guarded, know it all, perfectionist.
CONNECTIONS:
♢ Rory Williams: Her favourite male nurse. Rory is kind, dedicated, brilliant with children, and doesn’t ask too many questions which are… actually exactly the traits Evie looks for in a friend these days. Someone, she can enjoy a laugh with, who has no interest in prying into her personal life. So they’ll sit together in the canteen if they happen to share a lunch break, or meet up for the occasional coffee – he’ll share stories about his very ginger wife, and she’ll share anecdotes about Millie and that’s good enough, isn’t it? ♢ Martha Jones: Evie and Martha work together in the ER, and if she’s honest she sort of looks up to Martha… in a way. She thinks she’s a brilliant and capable physician, especially considering the obsolete tech the year 2016 provides. She thinks they could actually be pretty good friends – both kind, quietly, slightly nerdy individuals. It’s just… she gets the sense that Martha knows a bit more about the rift and the resulting alien activity than she lets on. And Evie can’t afford to risk being sent back through. ♢ Ashildr/Me: Mayor Me. The first person who greeted her when she passed through the rift, and the one who helped her get acclimated to the area. When they first arrived, Mayor Me gave them shelter on Trap street. And when Evie insisted on building a life in London (being human passing, apart from the gloves they’re forced to wear has its perks!), Me helped her find a flat and set her up with a job. All she asks is that Evie be her eyes in the hospital, and report any new arrivals to her so that she can over them the same protection Evie was given

LIAM CAMPBELL - [ IAIN DE CAESTECKER FC ]
BASICS:
age: 29 species: human occupation: physics teacher romantic/sexual orientation: greysexual, panromantic
ABOUT:
♦ Liam thinks there’s something fishy going on at Coal Hill Academy, and they’re pretty sure it’s to do with budget cuts. How else can you explain an increase in hires that seem more interested in the goings on at the school than the actual teaching they’re meant to be doing? Yes, there’s something fishy indeed, and as a teacher, in the top of their field, they plan to get to the bottom of it!
♦ Liam Campbell was born and raised in Scotland. He’s the youngest of three children and has had a passion for sciences from a very young age. He has one older sister and one older brother. They all have different interests, so Liam never really got to be very close to them. Being the baby of the family, he’s a big momma’s boy and was rather spoiled by his mum growing up, which his older brother claims is the reasoning behind him being so socially awkward around people his own age. Despite not being very close to his brother, however, and growing up being teased by him for being spoiled by their mum, his older brother got into a few fights at school when he was sticking up for Liam. Neither of them talks about it, though, and when their mum would ask what happened, they’d both stick together about some lie they made up. It was some of the few times their mum actually saw them sticking together.
♦ He moved to England for Uni and wanted to get a degree to do big important things, but throughout his time there, he discovered he had a passion for teaching when he took up a job tutoring young kids in the local community.  Teaching isn’t exactly the ‘big important things’ he had in mind, but he realised how important it really is, so maybe he’s still doing what he dreamed. During his last year of Uni, he became a teacher’s aide at Coal Hill. He’d heard that Coal Hill was a prestigious school and was honoured to work there. The same year he graduated from Uni, he landed a job there.
♦ The first few years there, it was a great job. He was able to stick to himself as much as he wanted and the school was almost everything that he imagined it to be. It was his fourth year there that things started getting weird. There’s a lot of rumours flying around trying to explain the weird stuff at Coal Hill, but Liam is pretty sure it’s all down to budget cuts. He may blame it all on budget cuts, but deep down he knows things are happening around the school and it sort of terrifies him. He loves Sci-Fi. He’s not so sure he wants to actually live it.
personality:
Liam was always a bit of a nerd, (or geek depending on who you ask). He loves Sci-Fi, Star Wars and Star Trek being a couple of his favourite things to watch. He has a Scottish temper, and can sometimes get pretty grouchy over the littlest things. He’s always been a socially awkward person, but since being at Coal Hill, he’s started to grow out of that, and more into himself. Socialising still isn’t his favourite thing to do, but he’s definitely a lot better at it than he was while he was a student. He has a tendency to get pretty dramatic about things, especially when he’s overcompensating for something. For example, blaming everything on budget cuts at the school, or freaking out because someone started bleeding during one of the class experiments.
☑ caring, intelligent, passionate.   ☒ dramatic, impatient, socially awkward.
CONNECTIONS:
♢ evie smith: The two met through Evie’s child, and was admittedly quite taken by her, though he had to roll his eyes over the fact that her last name was Smith of all things. To tell her apart from the rest of the Smith’s he knows, he has her in his phone as ‘Pretty Smith’, though he’d deny it if she ever saw the name in his phone.
♢ john smith (metacrisis): The two have neighbouring classrooms, so the two bump into each other often. More than Liam likes on most days. Not that he doesn’t like the Maths teacher. He does seem brilliant, and passionate – he’s just not sure if he’s always passionate about teaching.
♢ donna noble: Liam finds Donna Noble to be one of the most normal adults at Coal Hill, and enjoys stopping in the office to chat with her from time to time – Usually to gossip about the strange things happening around the school.

CLARA OSWALD
BASICS:
age: 28 species: human occupation: english literature romantic/sexual orientation: biromantic/sexual
ABOUT:
♦ with the exception of a few poor fashion decisions and a rebllious streak through her late teens, losing her mum at such a young age has only made her kinder. she knows the value of a person and the place they take in your life. and while she’s not the sort to wear her heart on her sleeve or let just anybody into her inner circle, she cares a great deal about he people around her, and she’ll never leave a friend in need behind. ♦ which is how she found herself nannnying for the maitlands through her early twenties after graduating from uni. their mum had just passed away, Mr. Maitland had needed someone to pick up the slab, and being as Mrs. Maitland had been such a good friend to her own mother, it really hadn’t taken much though for her to put her travel plans on hold to help out – she felt she knew what they were going through. the job didn’t pay much, but with food and lodging taken care of, she was able to save up a bit. ♦ so when Mr. Maitland finally did hire a permanant nanny (only two years after her temporarily taking on the position), she’d saved up enough to rent herself a nice flat in the city, just a few stops on the underground from her new place of employment – Coal Hill Academy. She’d taken the position to fill up her time between travels with The Doctor, and to remind herself to keep her life balanced. It was always much harder to remind herself not to fall in love when she was caught up in the Doctor’s world – she figured she liked kids enough and she’d taken the teaching courses, so why not? It seemed permanent enough to cement a life outside the Doctor (especially after his regeneration), whilst still providing enough freedom for travel and adventure. And besides, with a degree in English Literature, there really wasn’t much else to do, was there? ♦  has a bit of a troubled relationship with her dad now that he’s remarried. she knows intellectually (and as an adult with a good head on her shoulders) that her dad deserves to be happy, and if Linda gives him that happiness, who is she to deny him that? But emotionally she still can’t quite wrap her head around him finding that happiness with anyone who isn’t her mum.  ♦  has in the past (or maybe it’s the future, or present? she can never really be sure) been romantically linked to Jane Austen. the details of this relationship only exists inside a journal which she’s hidden away from the doctor (and those nosy eyebrows of his) – though whether’s he’s found it and disapproves, she’s not sure. either way, he continues to bring her back to visit, so she’s really not too concerned. if only they could meet up in the right order…
personality:
☑ brave, kind, clever, compassionate. ☒  bossy, egotistical, impulsive, distrustful.
CONNECTIONS:
♢ the doctor:  Her best friend in the entire universe and favourite hobby, The Doctor has become one of the most important people in Clara’s life. Not that she’d ever admit it. Or think it too loud when he’s around, just to be safe. The adventures, the laughs, the stupid bits of trouble he’s always getting them into – it’s amazing. But it’s more than that, isn’t it? She’s seen him all (good, bad and in between fashion), been through his timestream (even if she can’t really remember it)… and she loves him anyway. Or well… it’s complicated. But so long as she’s in control of their relationship, she thinks they’ll continue travelling together for a long time. ♢ petronella osgood:  They met through UNIT…. at least, she thinks they did. Hard to say, really, now that there’s two Osgoods bopping around London. Being one of the few people in the entire universe who knows her secret (or well, part of it, but she doesn’t expect Osgood is going to give up which of her is human or Zygon anytime soon), it only seemed natural the two spark a friendship. And when Osgood started working at Coal Hill the two only go closer – meeting up for coffees here and there, a good gossip, and maybe a chat about what exactly is going on with the rift, and why it’s suddenly appeared at the school. ♢ jenny flint:  Clara’s always like Jenny, from the moment the first met, and truth be told every interaction they’ve had since that first meeting has only proven her initial gut instinct to be right. Kind, warm, sweet as can be – Clara is just naturally drawn to Jenny. Plus they’ve got something huge in common – their own ‘Sherlock Holmes’ to keep in line. Even if Clara’s still pretty sure whatever’s brought them to modern day London has probably got some kind of sinister plan in the works, she still pops buy the Tea Emporium at least once a week to catch up. And anyway, if something does go wrong at least she knows she’s in good hands – Jenny and Vastra always make sure to call the police when alien baddies get in the way.

THE DOCTOR
BASICS:
age: 40 billion+, looks mid-50s (sometimes) species: time lord occupation: adventurer/part-time caretaker romantic/sexual orientation: grey-romantic, asexual
ABOUT:
♦ The Doctor comes and goes as he pleases, which means it can be any generation at any point in time. He’s well aware of the rift activity and spike in alien invasions that are going on at and near Coal Hill Academy, but he’s not too bothered by them. Well that was until he discovered many of his companions began to show up and populate the school. Then, he discovered UNIT and Torchwood began to get involved, which really set him off. So now he’s taken it as a personal mission to fix things himself, he just needs to avoid a few certain persons every now and then.
♦ No matter what regeneration that shows up, the Doctor will always go by the alias of ‘John Smith’ and will continuously take on the mantle of Caretaker for the school. Many people believe there’s about twelve different Caretakers, and wonder why Coal Hill needs that many, but really, it’s just the Doctor. (He’s also not a very good Caretaker and tends to only clean one hallway, neglecting the rest of the school.) ♦ Sometimes, when no one’s around or looking, the Doctor will stick strange devices in places so that he can always keep an eye on the school. Of course, why he would plant one in Clara’s room is a mystery to most, and he’s just counting down the days until Clara finds it. ♦ Stores his TARDIS in the shed or the broom closet when he’s at the school. Many students and some faculty wonder what happens when one version of the Doctor goes in, and another comes out. There’s rumours going around that it’s a portal to another world... and well, they wouldn’t be entirely wrong. ♦ The Doctor avoids certain people, either because they left on bad terms, or because he doesn’t want them to know he’s there. Oftentimes, he escapes through windows or up into the ceiling to avoid detection. Usually it ends with him being seen. He’s not very good at going under the radar.
personality:
The Doctor isn’t one to beat around the bush, unless, of course, said bush has a infestation problem and the only way to cure it is to actually beat around it. He’s an odd alien who does things in his own time (which is to say, not linear and not slow like it is for humans). Sometimes he’ll spout off random facts and help students with classwork, and sometimes he’ll literally hiss at children. It’s a gamble and one that leaves his companions wondering what face they’re going to get that week. Still, deep down, the Doctor is one of the most caring and protective individuals that anyone would be lucky to meet. He doesn’t always see himself as that, preferring to state that he doesn’t care, or that he can’t, but he knows better and he always tries very hard to show that he’s trying.
☑ intelligent, quick-witted, caring ☒ stubborn, hubris, guilt-ridden
CONNECTIONS:
♢ Clara Oswald: The Doctor knows her. Or did. Or will. Or has... He’s not always sure, but there’s certainly something about that English teacher that keeps drawing him to her. Sometimes it seems to him that she just ‘gets’ him, and that he doesn’t have to say too much in order for her to become his interpreter. Fiercely though, he protects her, no matter what face he’s in, and he knows that ought to count for something. ♢ Madame Vastra: Sometimes the Doctor really wonders if she’s not stalking him. After all, she’s a lizard lady and quite frankly, don’t lizards stalk things? Still, he knows he can trust her and is happy to find that she’s opened up a shop across the way from the school. Not only can her get information, but he can also get tea. (It’s a win in his book).   ♢ Metacrisis Doctor: The Doctor’s Metacrisis, a person that the Time Lord has always struggled with on how to act around and towards. It’s not that he doesn’t love him, he does, but it’s hard to look in the face of a man who can reflect his own past misgivings. Still, once he discovered that the Metacrisis was back within his own universe, the Doctor has decided that it’s high time to fully investigate... and to see what it is he can do to help.

JACK HARKNESS
BASICS:
age: 2500+, looks mid-30s species: human/immortal occupation: american history romantic/sexual orientation: grey-romantic, pansexual
ABOUT:
♦ Jack was once a lover of Oscar Wilde. Having fascinated the author so much, Wilde wrote a book based around him. That book was ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’. Which Jack suggested the last name in memory of his lost brother. To this day, Jack reads the book in amusement and in fond memory of Mr. Wilde. ♦ Jack is a collector of books and anytime he sees one he doesn’t have, he’ll find a way to acquire it so he can add it to his personal collection. ♦ Jack listens to a wide variety of music but he has a special love for songs that relate to immortality and it being a curse. He knows it’s cliche, but he has a special love for Queen’s ‘Who wants to live forever?’.
♦ Jack could have taught a plethora of subjects at Coal Hill and would have been easily qualified for any of them; however, the reason he chose American History was that no one else was willing to teach it, and that being a ‘honourary’ American himself, he thought he was best suited for the job. Plus, he knew that not many other teachers at the school could say they lived through all the wars in America; and fought in quite a few of them.
personality: Captain Jack Harkness is a loyal, pragmatic, flirtatious, and commanding man. However, that is just one side of the coin of his life. He can be shallow, stunted emotionally, demanding, and harsh when he wants to be or when he feels he needs to be. Jack is guarded and selective with who he talks to. Of course, if asked, many would say that he’s always talking; however, Jack would tell them that they never actually got to know the real him at all. He’s careful and decisive with his plans and is almost always ten steps ahead of everyone else. When it comes to affairs of the heart or any sort of emotion, Jack prefers to keep them guarded as well. He’s learnt a lot over the centuries that wearing one’s heart on their sleeves is a great way at getting themselves killed. Jack’s loyalty though is easily won and very hard to lose. Once he’s decided that you’re ‘worth’ it, there’s nothing that can stop him from ever taking a stand by your side. And then, in the darkest corners of Jack’s mind; lies a series of problems that he hasn’t yet found the time to cope with. Still he suffers from survivor’s guilt, as well as a mild form of PTSD. Jack has channelled a lot of his pain into organisational methods and collecting books. When he recedes into moments where his darkness takes him over, Jack can be found sitting alone and working on paperwork to the point of exhaustion, or quietly stewing in a corner...much different from his usual cheerful, flirtatious, and up-beat self. ☑ charismatic, charming, organised. ☒ stubborn, harsh, stunted emotions.
CONNECTIONS:
♢ metacrisis doctor: Jack has known the Metacrisis Doctor for some time now. After having been previously trapped together within a pocket universe, and then a planet at the end of the universe, the two had decided to remain close once they got back to their respected worlds. Finding a way to bring ‘Doc’, as Jack affectionately calls him, back into his world; the two decided to set off traveling through space and time. It was between their adventuring and deciding to investigate the rift activity at Coal Hill that Doc ‘accidentally’ told Jack of his real name and the two were ‘accidentally’ married. Now they work together and undercover as teachers at the esteemed secondary school. ♢ gwen cooper:  Jack has known Gwen for a very long time, and the fact that she’s even investigating the school is because of him. Torchwood is over, but he still keeps her close in case he ever needs outside help for jobs he wouldn’t let Doc do or help him with. Gwen is still very much Jack’s second-in-command, and he is still very much her superior. However, the two remain close, and sometimes he’d even dare to say that she was one of his very best friends. ♢ martha jones: Jack and Martha go way back, and she is one of the very few he trusts to let know about his immortality (and the fact that he is aging, but at a slower rate). She knows about him being ‘the Face of Boe’ and what his future fate shall be, and he knows how her and Mickey’s life together will end up as. The two remain great friends; even if they hold a lot of secrets from each other.

THE METACRISIS DOCTOR
BASICS:
age: 950+ , looks mid-30s species: human/timelord occupation: maths romantic/sexual orientation: pan-romantic, demi-sexual
ABOUT:
♦ The Metacrisis Doctor, affectionately known as ‘Doc’, arrived at Coal Hill with his now ‘accidental’ husband Jack Harkness. The two spent years travelling the universe through space and time together until a spike in rift activity caught their attention. Now he works as a Maths teacher at the school while keeping an eye on everyone and their safety; while also investigating and trying to find the Doctor once more. ♦ The Metacrisis Doctor generally goes by the name of ‘the Doctor’; however, he’s adopted the moniker of ‘Doc’. Symbolically, it represents that he’s “half of the Doctor”, and since most faces of the Doctor (and in particularly his tenth face) won’t answer to that name, it works.
♦ Doc can’t always keep track of all the billions of cultures and customs that he has in his head, which is why his manners range from acceptable to appalling. In his defence, licking marmalade off your knife is considered perfectly good manners on Xorrx VIII in the Wombat Era.
♦ Doc originally interviewed for the physics teacher position, then flunked out of it when he started talking about particles that hadn’t been discovered in the 21st century.
personality:
Doc started with a personality that was a carbon copy of the Tenth Doctor personality at the start of the Tenth Doctor’s regeneration. While the scars from the Time War were still fresh, he was also young, in love and full of hope.
However, as time went by, he became more jaded, less exuberant and less warm. His break with Rose made him close himself off once more. His inability to regenerate also made him somewhat more cautious, and he grew less impulsive, more prone to thinking (and brooding).
At heart, he is still idealistic, but he is reluctant to become attached to people around him (other than Jack, whose immortality means that he can never lose him). He’s also conflicted - on one hand, he believes in helping and wants to help; on the other hand, he is somewhat disillusioned with humanity and their treatment of aliens, and is still wrestling with questions of whether intervening to save humanity is the right thing or not.
☑ idealistic, courageous, caring ☒ stubborn, cynical, feeling avoidant
CONNECTIONS:
♢ jack harkness: Doc loves Jack. In Jack, he’s found someone who can relate to him, someone who’s human but also not, who can understand the stress and strain of immortality, who knew him both before and after the metacrisis. Jack was the first person to help him realise that his differences from the Doctor were a good thing. Initially, his interactions with Jack were driven by guilt over his actions in abandoning Jack on Satellite V, and his tenth’s face callous treatment of him; he was very much driven to try and try and undo some of the damage that time and immortality had wrecked on him. That protective streak grew rapidly to something more, but Doc refused to act on his feelings when he was mortal. Now that he’s effectively immortal, he still finds it nearly impossible to articulate those feelings, preferring to pretend that he and Jack are nothing more than friends.
Still, he very obviously did not protest when they accidentally got married, and while he rolls his eyes when Jack calls him husband, he doesn’t actually refute it.
And Jack keeps getting flowers from a secret admirer on Valentine’s Day. Except that it’s Valentine Day’s day from the 51st century on the Boeshane Peninsula.
♢ the doctor: It’s Complicated ™. Doc likes the Doctor a lot, and wants to get along with him. He also wants to help the Doctor, being the one person who really knows (or knew) the Doctor and the pain that he carries. Unfortunately, like siblings with the best of intentions, they end up squabbling more often than not, only to help each other out without hesitation with the other really needs it.
At the same time, they occasionally get territorial over old companions, investigations, and competitions over being the cleverest in the room.
♢ clara oswald: Doc remembers Clara from the pocket universe, and he likes her a lot - thinks she’s clever, witty, and makes a great souffle. He’d like to get to know her better, and not-so-secretly wants to steal her from the Doctor. After all, he’s the one with the better hair and is obviously cleverer.

AMELIA POND
BASICS:
age: 35 species: human occupation: european history romantic/sexual orientation: bisexual, panromantic
ABOUT:
♦ Amy Pond came through the time rift from New York 1938 with her husband, Rory with no memory of her time there or her travels with the Doctor. In fact, she doesn’t really remember why she started working at Coal Hill Academy in the first place. But she likes the subject she teaches enough, and her friends -- if she weren’t too Scottish to admit it, she’d say her life is actually pretty great. There’s just this nagging feeling in her gut she can’t quite place, particularly when she sees a certain caretaker popping in and out of cupboards (occasionally with a new face, she swears!) To contend with that feeling of loss, she’s taken to writing. Nothing too extraordinary. Just some sort stories about a Raggedy Doctor and his flying Policebox. Silliness, really.
♦ There’s a lot about Amy’s life that she doesn’t remember, and some memories that feel fabricated. She doesn’t talk about this too much though, because she does remember visiting a few therapists as a child, and remembers biting each one of them. She doesn’t really want to see one as an adult. Especially since she’s not so sure she’d not bite them, even as a grown adult.
♦ She’s under the assumption that both of her parents are dead, but sends a card to her Aunt every Christmas, something that she did even when she traveled with the Doctor. (Not that she remembers that). The only oddity was her Aunt asking what happened to her Christmas card the last couple of years, to which Amy just assumed they got lost in the mail.
♦ She longs to be a mother, and knows that Rory’s always wanted to be a dad. Being surrounded by kids all the time doesn’t really help that longing, and she’d started to look into adoption agencies, but hasn’t told Rory yet.
personality:
☑ passionate, adventurous, loyal ☒ stubborn, impulsive, short tempered
CONNECTIONS:
♢ river song: There is something about River that breaks her heart. The first time they had a conversation, that was actually light and fun, Amy started crying and had to excuse herself. It’s mind boggling, and it tears her apart because she likes to think that her and River could be really good friends and that some day she’ll be able to have a conversation with her without feeling like her heart was being pulled from her chest.  At the same time, she can’t seem to stay away from the art teacher either.
♢ the doctor: Amy has a theory that all of the caretakers are the same person, but the only person she’s mentioned it to is her husband, who thinks maybe it’s just her overactive imagination. So she added a bit about her raggedy doctor changing faces in her books. Apart from that, she’s rather fond of the caretaker, especially the Scottish one, who she sees most often. Sometimes she leaves some of her favorite Scottish treats outside of the shed in the court yard for him.
♢ rory williams: Her husband, and rock. Sometimes, she thinks she counts on Rory a little too much to be healthy. He’s the one thing in her life that’s always been a constant and that means more to her than she can ever put into words. She regrets not realizing that it was Rory sooner.

RORY WILLIAMS
BASICS:
age: 35 species: human occupation: nurse romantic/sexual orientation: pansexual, panromantic
ABOUT:
♦ When the time rift spit he and Amy back to the year 2016, it did something funky to their memory -- leaving them with no memory of their time in New York, or travelling with the Doctor. And so, he doesn’t quite remember what inspired the move to London, but he likes the big city life. And his job - working in the ER of a Shoreditch area hospital. And the life he’s built with Amy. He just wishes he could kick the feeling that he’s missing something -- someone -- very important.
♦ He loves Amy’s stories. Always has and always will. But he can’t help the feeling that the stories are perhaps more familiar than they should be. He’s always put that down to how often he’s heard them and gone on with his life, but even that doesn’t seem quite right.
personality:
☑ loyal, loving, smart ☒ jealous, over-protective, stubborn
CONNECTIONS:
♢ amy pond - Amy was the love of his life from the moment he moved in next door. Some of the areas around his 20s with her are a little blurry but that’s only to be expected. They were 20 after all.
♢ the doctor - Amy’s rather fond of the school caretakers. At first perhaps he was a little concerned, a little bit of insecurity lingering from childhood. But as time as gone on he’s gotten rather fond of them as well, particularly the one with a rather big chin as well as the Scottish one that stops by sometimes.
♢ river song - He’s not sure why there’s an ache in his chest every time he sees the art teacher, or a certain sense of protectiveness that normally only comes when he’s around his wife. He’s yet to mention it to anyone, well aware of how little sense it makes.

MARTHA JONES
BASICS:
age: 35 species: human occupation: doctor romantic/sexual orientation: demisexual, heteromantic
ABOUT:
♦ Martha Jones has arrived with her husband, Mickey Smith, to initially investigate all the odd happenings going on around the area. She had planned to retire from the life of the Doctor and UNIT, but ultimately decided to continue on. However, she’s gotten herself a job as an ER Doctor at the local hospital where she can keep an eye on everyone and everything. While also keeping any alien business under wraps. ♦ Martha Jones was raised into an upper-middle class family in London with two other siblings. Being the middle child of divorced parents, she was usually the peacemaker of the family & was the one who was made to mediate arguments between her parents. Growing up, she spent most of her time with her mother.
♦ Martha was very intelligent & always loved to read, finishing her first series, The Troubleseekers, a 32-book long saga, at age 8. During her childhood, she went to the hospital for the first time since her birth because of a broken arm. Seeing the x-ray & being fascinated by the world underneath her skin, she decided that she wanted to become a doctor, more specifically, a surgeon.
♦ In 2008, Martha was completing her clerkships as her final years as a med student at the Royal Hope Hospital. She met The Doctor as he was a patient admitted to the hospital, & discovered while listening with a stethoscope that he had two hearts, but didn’t reveal anything. During that day, the hospital she worked at was transported to the moon by the Jadoon. Instead of being afraid, her first reaction was wonderment & curiosity, she had always been fascinated by any sort of scientific phenomenon & she had never seen something so out-of-the ordinary in her life. After the Doctor saved her life, & vice versa, she accepted his invitation for a few one-off trips throughout time & space. She accepted this partly because of her natural sense of amazement & breathlessness toward science & the unknown, & also because she harbored a fancy for the doctor at the time.
♦ Martha traveled with the doctor & eventually gained a TARDIS key of her own, going on adventures, meeting Shakespeare, & eventually defending the Doctor in particularly tough times. Although she eventually grew to love him, it came to her understanding that traveling with him would not be easy under the circumstances & was she felt could never be returned.
♦ Prior to the events of ‘The Year That Never Was’, she had considered the possibility of confessing her feelings, or possibly trying to forget about them so that she could roam the universe without having feelings for her companion in travel. However, soon after, the Master rose to power & kidnapped her friends & family closest to her. Martha was forced to escape using Jack’s teleport & swore to herself, full of rage & determination, to return for her loved ones. She later spent an entire year roaming over almost every country & continent that was still salvageable, spreading the message of the Doctor & providing hope under the Master’s regime. This caused a tougher edge to grow out of Martha, during this year she became truly headstrong, stubborn, steadfast, never forgetting her anger or her hope. She learnt how to survive, how to heal other people not with medicine, but with kindness, she learnt about the true essence of humanity & how it prevails as one against suffering. She learnt how her value exceeded beyond what she had previously thought of herself compared to the likes of the doctor, & that she was just as important. For a year, she was the doctor, providing aid for the helpless, healing for the sick, a leader for the lost, & a beacon of hope amongst humanity. Both the suffering she witnessed & the look of bravery in people’s eyes changed her forevermore as a person & her perspective on mankind as a whole.
♦ After saving the world & erasing the year from the timeline, only to live in memories, she chose to leave her life with the doctor behind & let her feelings go. Soon after, she graduated medical school & earned her proper credentials as a trauma/er surgeon. Martha was hired by UNIT as a medical officer & eventual director of several different classified assignments, including Project Indigo. She later used this to transport herself to a base in Germany where the Ostahagen key was to b activated. Not unlike ‘The Moment’, it was designed to implode the whole of plant Earth. She signed onto UNIT knowing that she someday might have to perform this duty, she had seen mankind at it’s last tether of hope, & when it was lost, she knew the consequences of what the outside power could do. Before she could, she was teleported to the Dalek ship & participated in defeating Davros & returned to Earth with Mickey Smith & Captain Jack Harkness.
♦ Later, she retired from UNIT work & went freelance, but provided consultation for both UNIT & Torchwood as required. She later began a relationship with fellow former companion Mickey Smith & married him in 2009. They both operated as freelance alien fighters & investigators & witnessed the presence of the Tenth Doctor right before his regeneration. However, after being contacted by friend Sarah-Jane Smith about possible extraterrestrial oddities near Coal Hill, she returned to her work at UNIT & posed as an attending trauma surgeon at a hospital nearby, both curiosity & a sense of aid & duty taking hold of her as she cajoled Mickey into rejoining UNIT as well.

CONNECTIONS:
♢ mickey smith. Her husband. Martha fell in love with Mickey after they began to work at UNIT together soon after Davros’ failed attempt at seizing Earth. They began to prove to be a great team while working on cases & had similar perspectives on multiple things & interests. Before they dated, Mickey was a source of support for her & vice versa as they recovered from their respective traumas & got engaged & married in 2009. Martha loves him for his kindness, his bravery, his often overlooked sense of cleverness, & his sense of self-worth that they have in common after spending time with the Doctor. She tells Mickey everything, especially what she cannot tell others. Mickey is her other half, her confidant, her partner in crime, & a best friend, as well as later becoming the love of her life.
♢ jack harkness. Friend. Martha met him right before the Year That Never Was, & knows how much the Doctor meant to him. They both had much in common during their companionship with the doctor & she often relied on him for answers when the Doctor refused to give any. She also consulted for Torchwood when they required it & supported & knew of his relationship with college Ianto Jones before his death. Most of the time when she calls, it’s a life-or-death situation, but she sometimes have a coffee to catch up & complain about whatever co-worker was bothering her that day. She knows of his ultimate fate as the Face of Boe and, unbeknownst to Jack, was with him in his final moments. Although she confides most things, from serious to silly, with her friend, this is one of the greatest secrets she possesses from him.
♢ donna noble. Former Friend. While Donna still retained memories of the Doctor & traveled with him in the TARDIS, she was a dear friend to Martha & they often met up for lunch to discuss the doctor’s latest shenanigans as well as updates on her personal life. Martha gave advice when needed, & greatly treasured Donna’s intelligence, wit, & overall strength as something she greatly admired. Martha kept in touch with Donna regularly & remained a close friend with her until her memory was wiped by the Doctor. Martha was devastated to learn that she had lost her friend & subsequently lost all contact with her, only seeing her briefly while she was passing by Coal Hill & Martha attempted to make no sort of contact with her.
