You know what the scariest thing was as a kid?

The X-files opening theme, complete with all the visuals. Nothing more horrifying than that music in the middle of the night after you’ve gone to bed in the 90’s. And you wander out for a glass of water, and Mom has that god forsaken show playing on the old TV. Piercing music + terrifying visuals = traumatized small child me.

You know what’s annoyingly horrifying as an adult?

The X-files theme.

All it takes is the opening notes to trigger my inner child, and send me spiraling back. Anxiety, terror, and white noise rising to a fever pitch in my brain, as adult me irrationally slaps her hands over her ears and tries to get away from the music that’s triggering the most embarrassing anxiety attack in the middle of a grocery store every year before Halloween.

WTF brain? X-files isn’t even scary. I watch way scarier and worse horror as an appetizer for breakfast. Why the fuck can you not stomach the X-files theme?

Hear me out. Danny gets de-aged and thrown into Gotham, everything’s sort of normal there. He’s somewhere between 4 and 6 and absolutely tiny. Looks a little sickly, covered in his death-scars and looks like some sort of fae child or something. 

Now it’s Gotham, normally this would mean he’d have gotten kidnapped, gotten stolen from the streets or something. The thing is though, he wasn’t dropped into Gotham all alone.

It’s kind of hard to take a child when there’s a giant eldritch abomination of a knight seemingly living in the kid’s shadow that causes terror with its very presence.
