Yep! It’s going down! Sweatin it out! Live video posted on YT earlier. Check it out. The Vandal is receiving the 5.3 from my old stolen ‘84 C10. That should pep it up a little. The 5.3 has ported & milled .030” 862 heads with 2” LS1 intake valves, LS6 Cam and PAC 1218 valve springs. That’s all that I can remember that I did to it at this time. I got in touch with @oewheels for a set of new shiny 20x9 ~'14 GMC replica wheels in aluminum & black to give the project a new look. This is my fifth set of wheels from OEWheels in the past 12 years, if that tells you anything. I love their products and I haven't found a better price anywhere else. You can get all types of factory replica wheels in a variety of finishes & sizes that the factory never offered. Their prices are roughly 1/3 of what the dealership would charge you. Cant beat it! Good morning Gearhead’s! Happy Friday-Eve! Well, I did wind up getting the ‘03-‘07 steering wheel in the #Vandal project (99-02). I also shot video of the process. I just haven’t had the opportunity to edit and upload the video yet. I just wanted to get some type of update back to you. It went pretty smoothly. The only issue that’s left to figure out is why the air bag light is on. I used an air bag from an ‘04 2500HD Silverado with a single connector, but the air bag light is coming on anyway. There may be a difference in the bags. I’ll have to find time to research how the air bag system works on these trucks. If you have any experience with the air bag system, educate me! Photo after the 45 minute test drive last night. Feels good to drive the Vandal again! Can't wait to get the rest done. Pic 17 Piecing this C-notch together with scrap, but it’s getting done. This isn’t exactly my ideal path to accomplish this, but it should work. I’ve got to wrap this up so that I can drive it to work tomorrow. Passenger side done. Now to start on the driver’s side. I just hope this rain holds back. My welder isn’t water proof!
