Je parcourais les réseaux quand je suis tombé sur cette news qui m'a interpellé. Étant l'heureux propriétaire de deux chats, je me suis demandé si je ne pouvais pas leur apprendre à jeter des petits cailloux sur les invités non prévus.

Sauf que, en remontant la trace des sources de cette news, j'ai découvert la vérité :

C'est une blague, qui a été relayée comme une news dans le monde entier.

L'article original est hébergé sur un site anglophone équivalent au Gorafi.

Ce qui me fait réfléchir à ce qu'est une preuve d'autorité et à la valeur de celle-ci.

Car c'est bien ce qui est à l'œuvre ici. C'est un des mécanismes principaux de la persuasion.

C'est d'ailleurs le mécanisme que je respecte le moins. Pourquoi ? Je suis docteur en informatique, PhD. Je pourrais brandir ce titre partout pour m'ouvrir des portes.

Cependant, ayant connu des PhD, des Directeurs de X ou Y, , je ne les mets pas sur un piédestal.

Je les vois comme des humains, comme moi. Pouvant faire des erreurs. Pouvant avoir la flemme de vérifier les infos. Pouvant avoir des intérêts personnels.

Donc, je n'accorde pas a priori plus de crédit à ce qu'ils disent que les autres.

À moins qu'il ne s'agisse de leur sujet d'étude, ou à moins qu'ils ne me le prouvent.

J'accorde plus de crédit à un sans-titre qui a bossé un sujet, qu'à un titré qui ne l'a pas bossé.

D'ailleurs je me méfie de ceux qui brandissent leur titre constamment. Ça n'impressionne que les naïfs.

Maintenant, parlons de la vie de tous les jours. On vient de voir que l'apparence de l'autorité n'en est pas la preuve. Comment faire la différence ?

"Fais attention aux fake news" est pour moi un conseil inopérant.

Tu ne vas pas pouvoir vérifier chaque info, c'est juste impossible.

Pour moi, il y a deux cas dans lesquels il faut la vérifier :

Quand cette info est un facteur de décision. Pour prendre de meilleures décisions, ça paraît évident.

Quand tu relaye cette info à d'autres. Propager le mensonge c'est diminuer la confiance que les autres vont te porter.

Cat cafes have received quite a bit of press here in the states but a recent (nonpolitical) visit to Canada led to some Goodnewsforpets discovery of a specific kitty cafe at Canada.  Goodnewsforpets lately visited Caf  Chat l'Heureux, a"home away from home" haven where you could forget all of the politics and cuddle with a dozen furry, cuddly, stunning buddies that offer the purrfect day getaway.

In the Plateau neighborhood of Montreal, Founder Clement Marty has created a refuge and rescue for those who want a side of love by using their spot of tea.  A cat connoisseur, he had a mom who loved cats, always needed two himself, and analyzed cat behaviour.  He toured Japan, visiting more than 20 cat caf s, before using crowd funding on Indiegogo to create his dream of bringing the first cat caf  into Montreal a truth.  He imagined a place where locals could be educated about animal welfare and kitty needs.

While the Cafe Chat l’Heureux is an immersive experience, hygiene comes first when entering the premises.  For the wellbeing of their kitties, people must wash their hands and vaporize their shoes prior to entering one of 2 major areas.  The bistro has gourmet sandwiches and sandwiches for enjoyment, and there's additionally another playground for people who only need to get in there and have a fun.  Dietary restrictions are believed, with vegan and gluten free choices on the menu also.

The caf 's visitors vary from tourists, students, and people who cannot have pets (not allowed inside their buildings, travel, allergic family member etc.) to those who just want a caf  offering delicious vegetarian choices.  The latter choice has been made to go together with the caf 's dedication to animal welfare.  Some customers come in weekly, some as often as three times every week, as they are attached to the cats, treating them as their very own.  Others drop by because they're curious.  Although about 80% of visitors are girls, many"male cat fans" come in also!

Marty says,"The most rewarding area are all the customers who see us and thank us for what we do: people who see that we do the maximum we can to take care of our cats, to educate and to encourage animal shelter adoption, but using a fun and enjoyable approach.  I love sharing all of my experience, and provide ideas to help people understand their cats better.  There are many simple things that 95% of people don't realize, and they are interested in studying more after their visit."
