Sinners as programs:
Yi Sang – Cortana/Siri/similar “AI”-that-follows-specific-rules programs. I don’t think poetry generators exist.
Faust – Any calculator game. Look. I love girlfail Faust as much as the next person, but she would be a calculator.
Don Quixote – Shimeji. Ok that’s the post.
Ryoshu – Either comedic malware like Reisenware, actual malware, or mspaint.
Meursault – Windows explorer/non-windows equivalent. He is your file explorer.
Hong Lu – Any digital pet, OR he is a collection of PNGs kept solely on your second monitor for a digital pet rock. I don’t know how to explain this one.
Heathcliff – It’d be far too easy (and a misinterpretation) to go with the malware route. Heathcliff has game engine energy and I am specifically referring to Ren’Py. he’s a Visual Novel engine.
Ishmael – Ishmael is specifically placid plastic duck simulator. No, but actually, Ishmael is any casual game like stardew valley or minecraft. she is never subnautica.
Rodya – Rodya is one of those email websites that boomers adore ❤️ /pos
Sinclair – Sinclair is a book library, like a kindle fire type thing.
Dante – Too easy to say a clock. Dante is an emulator.
Outis – Too easy to say a Trojan virus. She’s honestly a scheduling app.
Gregor – Again, far too easy to say malware (because bugs, get it? I’ll see myself out). He’s notepad.
Bonus:
Charon – An email that glitched out and was sent in like 1786 or whatever the earliest year a computer can claim
Vergilius – Far too easy to say tasque task manager. He’s an antivirus. Scares the viruses into not doing that shit.
Erlking(?) Heathcliff – Yeah he’s malware. He infects your computer, and spreads to other computers.

Random Doctor Who Facts You Might Not Know, Part 33: Gallifrey at War Part 5
Same TWs as normal for these parts - Time War shit, body horror, death, some reproductive concerns. Also, again, sorry if there are ever any repeats; I don't always remember if I've already mentioned something or not lmao
During the early Time Wars, Gallifrey went to war against the Charons, who had the ability to manipulate the very fabric of the universe. The Time Lords erased them from history.
The Last Great Time War was so devastating that the pre-Time War universe is different from the post-Time War universe (with the actual Time War itself being time locked in its own reality).
Compassion's biodata was warped until she became a Type 102 TARDIS. The Eighth Doctor took her and Fitz on the run in part because the Time Lords were hunting her down to use as sentient breeding stock for new TARDISes.
The Enemy used the anarchitects as a weapon during the War in Heaven. Anarchitects are disembodied intelligences that can live in infrastructure and manipulate it to rebuild it the way they want. They can make bridges disappear as you walk over them, straight hallways become impossible labyrinths, and make the space you are in unbearably small or large in an instant.
Tardigrades are intelligent enough that they can run mental simulations of the entire universe and solve complex equations that would allow them to manipulate reality itself. War strategists were convinced that they would eventually redefine history their own way and alter fixed points.
During the Eternal War, the forces of Gallifrey pushed the forces of the Yssgaroth back into their own universe. This took well over a thousand years, however, and in doing so billions died and entire star systems destroyed.
The Ninth Doctor and Rose became involved in this war when they arrived during the Kotturuh crisis. At this point, Gallifrey had not gained mastery over time, so Rassilon and his people were called Space Lords. During this time, Rose was turned into a vampire and attacked the Doctor a couple times before he cured her.
The Eternal War was so violent that the Time Lords rejected the use of violence forever. This is clearly true, and anyone who says otherwise is feeding you anti-Gallifreyan propaganda. I know this because our great Lord Rassilon told me himself.
Rassilon purposefully turned Gallifrey (which originally orbited a single sun) into a binary star system to kill all the vampires, even those resistant to a single sun's natural rays.
Because of the Eternal War, Rassilon's throne is made up of the bones of giant bats.
During the Last Great Time War, the Daleks tried to use nanobots on all the adults on a planet to make a mirror Gallifrey. The War Doctor defeated them by using a virus that killed every single adult. Thus, in one fell swoop, he orphaned the whole planet.
The War Doctor was the inspiration behind the Nightmare Child.
The War Council gave the Doctor tasks to complete as an assassin. One of the tasks given to him was to assassinate the Barber-Surgeon.
The password to the archway leading to the Barber-Surgeon's domain is 'Theta Sigma.'
The population of Carter Baross had been harvested by the Daleks to make cyborgs out of them. The Time Lords destroyed the entire planet, and the only survivor was named Case, who was saved by the War Doctor because he thought she would make a good weapon.
The War Doctor placed the planet of Lacuna in a time loop on the day before its destruction and spent hundreds of loops trying again and again to save it. After failing again and again, he was eventually convinced to end the loop.

i think my favorite thing about shuu as a character is that his actions are just absolutely inexcusable.
there is no "valid" excuse for murdering and cannibalizing children. there is no excuse for biologically weaponizing a child and traumatizing him to the point of suicide. he DELIGHTS in other people's suffering. he claims to have done this all for a purpose, but yet, he thinks that dismembering and decapitating a corpse to show to schoolchildren is funny. he laughs when hiyoko suggests that the same child he made the promise to might be suffering because of him.
like, he's not a gray character. yuuya is a gray character. he's made questionable decisions (bbl, the egg), because there wasn't a better option available to him.
and yet, despite just how horrible shuu is? he's understandable.
all of his actions stem from grief. he's been in grieve for YEARS. he claims everything stems from it. and a lot of his actions do. he invited almost all of the students to the school to investigate their ability to carry the charon virus, and the reason he isolated it in the first place was to fulfill his promise to ryouta.
look, i'll make jokes about how stupid misinterpreting "please, create a world where parents are no longer taken from their children, and wars no longer happen" as "please kill all humans" is, but you can still work through his faulty logic.
he was RAISED in the hawk party research facility. literally. he was like. 10 when ryouta was born. and he worked with ryuuji before then. obviously he thinks the solution to wars is what he was raised to believe.
and also? there's just... that element of grief to account for. everything he does is about it. he's the true antagonist of the game, like 99% of the problems can be accounted directly to him, but his grief is so present it just. it's so obvious, looking back on it.
he was thorough in trying to fulfill his promise. out of obligation, he claims.
holiday star shuu definitely gave me a new perspective. because he adopts miru and kaku, who hiyoko even notes he would probably murder under normal circumstances, because their anklets still say ryuuji k. on them. i was shocked when i was able to recognize his storybook as him the first playthrough. he's... he's just so simple.
none of his reasoning is justifiable. and he did WRONG. he did so much wrong. but doesn't that just make it more fun? doesn't that just make it so much more interesting?

Sweetheart John Wick ♡ ♡ ♡
Tumblr media
Everyone’s screaming, Winston is on a table with a broom stick, Charon runs in with his pistol cocked, employees are huddled under the bar.
Enter John Wick, Death’s Very Emissary, highly confused, looking around at all the guests ducking under tables and swinging katanas in the air.
In the corner of the high ceiling, a tiny, terrified bat cowers, wondering where the hell it is and how it got here.
John motherfucking Wick just sighs, asks for a ladder, wraps his suit jacket around his palms, gently cages the little furry guy in fabric, and then escorts him outside where he can fly off into the sunset, free and safe.
Bonus Content: Winston, brushing off his suit, getting down from the table and mumbling about how John has probably just unleashed the rabies virus on the citizens of New York.

A Turbulent Night at the River Styx
@flashfictionfridayofficial
Tumblr media
youtube
Impassive Charon lends a ride for all fallen souls, for they must cross into the eternal abyss of blackness, into the sliver of sea made of teal souls from flora. Every day there is death from insect to king and Charon expects some payment if they wish to leave limbo.
The tragedies of war, pestilence, and famine lead the thief called death. The battlefield, the volcano, the drought, the virus all spread and bleed life from the earth and fill the next world as it shakes from sudden arrivals. Centuries pass as the bombs grow and rattle the boundary of temporal and spiritual, rocking the pale green and blue river, splashing souls to the swirling gravity of cessation. Charon and his passengers sway from the storm of cataclysm and hold dearly to the dwarfed raft.
They cling onto every thing and all, rocking and screaming into the night, afraid to suffer more from the suffering they sought to escape. Charon steers onward, stoic from the lightning of hellish climates, familiar to the destination even as the travels change.
More and more people and animals fall onto the boat from the terrors of life, screaming and flailing from enduring another chaotic trek. Yet Charon has a job and a cool head presides in that skull. The fools of the world calm themselves one after another in the long unknown odyssey. The yells quiet, the movements steady, and the river deemed less threatening.
The past cannot hurt them anymore. The pale river glows and glistens in a pink cascade, warm and expanding, the darkness shrinking around the souls. Styx delivers everyone to their destination however long it takes, when they start, or how they met their stop. Charon soon heads to the next gate where the fresh souls await another phase after death.

A Whovian Watches Star Trek for the First Time: Part 115 - Starship of Babel
Star Trek: Discovery - Season 2 Episode 4 - An Obol for Charon
Tumblr media
Today's episode opens with not a resolution to any of the immediate ends to what was happening last episode, but with Discovery beaming Pike's First officer on board, "Number One" from the Q&A Short Trek and also went unnamed in the Cage. She still doesn't get an actual name here.
We get a bit of an update about Enterprise's situation, things are still in desperate need of repair, and we find out that Number One has also been doing a bit of digging into Spock's situation, however Pike is drawn away before details can be discussed.
Down in Engineering Paul Stamets and Sylvia Tilly are looking after "May". The creature still seems to be clued into Sylvia's emotions in some way, which is interesting. Sylvia goes on a mini speech about how she wasn't the best friend to the real May as a kid, and the fungal creature reaches out and sort of forms a hand. It's a scene kinda touching and kinda creepy. I'm really interesting in this Fungal creature and what motives are, and how it works.
In the ready room, some of the staff are discussing the Red Angel. No federation known species matches it's appearance. Apparently Saru is suffering a cold. This conversation is a nice bit of recap, but it doesn't really amount to much that we didn't already know about the Red Angel. Pike enters and dismisses everyone except Michael, so can finally talk about Spock stuff. Apparently Number One had retrieved the path that Spock's shuttle took after escaping the psychiatric facility, and Discovery is already on an intercept course. Michael immediately asks to be excused from this mission, due to the unknown trauma she caused him. Pike starts a bit of a pep talk to Michael, but Discovery is then slammed to a hault, and left in front of this giant red swirling ball of something.
And then the intro plays. I've noticed this a lot with Discovery, but it's Cold Opens are really long.
After the Intro, we gather to discuss what this thing is, and then suddenly everyone is speaking different languages! This fun little premise, and I kinda wish the whole no-one can understand eachother bit lasted a bit longer, but after a bit of confusion, Saru is called to the bridge. It's previously established that Saru knows a lot of languages, so he's definetly going to be the MVP here. Of course, he still has a cold, so he's gonna have to fight through that. He gets the Universal translator back online, but the rest of the Bridge's systems are still scrambled through other languages.
Apparently the rest of the ship is unaffected though, Engineering is still perfectly functional. We get a fun little spat between Paul and the more traditional Engineer we picked up in episode 1, which I thought was fun. As everyone scrambles to repair Discovery, the Computer Virus runs through more of the ships systems. Paul, Sylvia and Reno end up trapped in the Spore Drive control room, with the "May" Creature, which latches onto Sylvia. The Bridge is loosing control of everything, and Saru's illness take a turn for the worse. Internal communications are also knocked out
I've said it before with Enterprise, but I love how Star Trek depicts chaotic all hands on deck moments, where everyone is dashing about in the background trying to stabilise things. This is no exception, and I'm absolutely loving how we're seeing this confusion across the entire ship, more than just The Bridge and Engineering, which was often the case for Enterprise.
Down in Sickbay, Saru is really anxious to report any symptoms to the ship's doctor. After a bit of coaxing however, we find out this is more than a simple cold: Apparently it's a unique condition among Kelpiens, and apparently it's going to kill him. This ties into his Short Trek from before we Started Discovery. Apparently, whatever the sphere is, it's causing the same response as that crystal which selected Kelpiens to be slaughtered. This process is called Vahar'ai, and will either kill him, or make him succumb to madness. Saru has an idea on how to fight back against the computer virus, albiet in a very weak way, but it would slow the progress and give the crew a little bit of time to regain control, and Michael moves off to enact this digital antibody plan. Saru accepts that he is dying, and moves out to help Michael out.
While Michael and Saru are working on this, we get a really nice heart to heart between them about the nature of Saru's culture and how he thinks he just isn't built to keep fighting in the way Michael does. This is probably the best time to note that I love what the make-up department have done with him this episode. The way he walks with kind of a weird lean this episode, the perspiration on his face looks just great. This one on one scene was definetly the best part of the episode for me, I love digging into characters like this and Saru's unique relationship with the universe as a member of a species that are basically livestock animals is so fascinating to me.
With the spore-drive gang, May is apparently influencing May's thoughts. Apparently it's pumping a hallucinogen into her to calm her, although Paul and Reno have different ideas of what it's motives are. Michael ends up heading to engineering to ask them reactivate shields, unaware of their current situation. Engineering of course can't do anything at the moment, they're locked out of all systems, and Sylvia is dropping in and out of conciousness. Paul has a great idea. What he's gonna do is rework a part of the spore drive interface to let may hijack Sylvia's nervous system, and this is explained better in the episode and makes more sense there. But it will let us communicate with may, and Michael thinks something similar might be happening with the sphere, and the Virus could be a form of communication.
Michael shares this theory with Saru, and he deduces that the Sphere is trying to communicate the fact that it was dying, and wants to be remembered. Pike accepts this, and lowers the shields to accept the transmission, but I love that he still has a back-up plan in place.
Meanwhile with May, the process isn't working, and they start proposing makeshift surgery to make the communication process easier, and the whole trepanning thing felt like unnecessary trauma for my poor Neurodivergent girl, but the episode goes thankfully is quick with it. Once communication is established, May reveals her motives. Apparently she views the Discovery's use of the Mycelium network as invasive, and plans to kill Paul, and is now effectively holding Sylvia hostage to that end.
Unfortunately, Saru is still suffering symptoms, and I actually thought they fully kill him here and I was crying, him reminiscing about his sister while asking Michael to sever his Ganglia, and paralleling his relationship to his sister with Michael's relationship to Spock broke my heart. I don't particularly like death fake outs, but I love Saru, so I'm kinda happy that happened here. Also, it means were might be able explore a new side of Saru soon, because apparently without his Ganglia fear is no longer his primary drive, so I'm excited to see where they take him. Also on a side note, I love the design of his quarters.
Tumblr media
At the end of the episode we're left with Sylvia being taken into the spore network by May as our cliffhanger.
This has been my favourite episode of Season 2 so far, it had a lot of fun moments, I loved parallel situations between the Bridge crew and the Engineering crew. The many touching scenes with Saru here were great. I loved this one.

Tell us everything
Welcome to the Hitori fucking Dies AU
Okay so I don't have pretty much anything plotted out yet but the concept is "hatoful boyfriend except hitori managed to save nageki in the fire and died in the process"
Tw for all the usual hatoful boyfriend topics (suicide, familial death and grief, medical malpractice, likeable characters making pretty awful choices)
Also spoilers for if I ever make this for real. I'd want it to be structured similarly to hatoful boyfriend where most major plot reveals happen late, so by explaining the ideas from the start of this AU I'd also kind of be spoiling every major plot twist. But I don't know how far I'll get into the project (I have had a REAL hard time focussing on writing recently) and I want to share all my ideas immediately lol
Obviously there are many logistical issues in this au that would need to be worked out- why bbl wouldn't just happen immediately if Nageki was alive, for instance. Bear with me pls
Also please note that I haven't consumed every single piece of hatoful media, mostly just the two games and sections of one of the manga. There may be some things I missed out on that.
But here are the ideas I have thus far
The first sticking point is that I think there's a high probability that if Hitori died in the fire Nageki would just attempt again because he still believes he needs to sacrifice himself and would just feel even guiltier. BUT I also think it could be equally in character for Nageki to refuse to let Hitori's sacrifice be in vain and find enough resolve to escape and keep living and find a better solution
But of course, Nageki could never have a normal life while infected with the charon virus, nor would he be content with one while he's aware of the Hawk party's plans
He'd have to go on the run, obviously. Here's where you get another interesting possible choice of Nageki somehow managing to join the Doves. But frankly I don't think an incredibly sick 15 year old with extremely limited life experience is going to be good at going on the run. I think he'd manage to stay hidden for long enough. For the purposes of this au he doesn't die from his sickness immediately but it was definitely a risk. (Let's assume that Shuu originally planned for Nageki to live much longer than he did in canon so he received some genuine medical care in between the experiments)
However. Nageki is homeless and unable to tell anyone about what was done to him or get help. He can't go to any birds because the Hawks are searching for him, and he can't warn any humans because they'd just die if he spoke to them
Surprise! This is where this also becomes a Kazuaki lives AU!
I think Nageki meets Kazuaki mostly by random chance in the street. Now, in canon I'm not sure if Kazuaki was kicked out of college at this point and that's why he was out there in the rain or if he was out there for some other reason (edit: been informed that he IS still in college when he meets Hitori in canon, which works great for me). I'm choosing to believe it's the latter for the purposes of making this au work- Kazuaki is living in a dorm at this point but is close to failing his classes and is out in the rain for some reason. Roll with me here.
Nageki stumbles across Kazuaki. He'd probably be hesitant to approach due to the aforementioned danger
But Kazuaki is obviously not in a good state, and if there's one thing Nageki hates its feeling like he can't do anything when people are struggling. And part of Nageki is purely running on What Would Hitori Do mode right now. So obviously Nageki tries to figure out what he can do to help
I think suddenly being shown kindness by some random kid who is clearly in a similarly awful state might draw Kazuaki out of his head enough that he could end up trying to help Nageki instead, out of genuine concern, a sense of understanding, and a desperate need to be important to literally anybirdie on earth
This is the first time Nageki has talked to anybirdie since Hitori's death, as well as the longest Kazuaki has talked to someone in weeks
Nageki needs a place to stay that no one would think to look for him and where he's slightly less likely to immediately die. Kazuaki needs to interact with another living being regularly, and has an empty dorm room and a meal plan he's barely been using
cue incredibly dysfunctional found family slowburn- They feel obligated to each other (which eventually becomes genuine care and protectiveness) and end up functioning better as a result
(This could possibly end up being very codependent, because what relationship in hatoful doesn't have a LITTLE unhealthy codependency. Staking the whole of your recovery on another person's wellbeing is NOT sustainable. But overall WAY healthier for both of them than Hitori and Kazuakis canon dynamic in that they both make it out alive with no deception necessary.)
Kazuaki starts attending classes again so that they can stay housed. He struggles and still can't thrive, but he just barely stays afloat with Nageki's support and renewed motivation. Nageki does what he can to make the dorm more habitable without leaving. Nageki's presence is a secret for obvious reasons, but it's a pretty easy one to keep since Kazuaki is so isolated to begin with. Nageki's trapped again in a different way, but Kazuaki's awful living space may honestly feel like a relief after the sterile lab. Months, maybe even a full year, pass
Eventually, Nageki trusts Kazuaki enough to tell him about everything- the charon virus, St. Pigeonations, Hitori's death, all of it. He tells him that one day, if he can live long enough, Nageki will find a way to expose what's going on at St. Pigeonations to the world and bring an end to it
Nageki likely tells him out of a sense of guilt- this is what he's gotten Kazuaki into, and he deserves better than all the extra trouble Nageki comes with.
But Nageki also won't be talked out of his plan, and when Kazuaki realizes this, he's not going to let Nageki be in danger by himself, not when it means Kazuaki would be left completely alone again
Kazuaki hasn't dreamed about his future in years, had no plans past college for how his life could go. What difference would it make if he started working towards becoming a teacher?
Kazuaki had no significance to the Hawks whatsoever. And teaching is completely in character for Kazuaki when he's in a slightly better mental state (see: shrine au) so no one would likely question it. No one EVER pays attention to Kazuaki or takes him seriously- which could make him a very, very good information gatherer
(And Nageki IS still sick, and maybe, just maybe Kazuaki can find out if the doctor wasn't COMPLETELY lying about doing research into curing it– if only as a contingency plan to keep his bioweapon from getting out of his control. Maybe if Kazuaki poked around enough, he could find it and hand it over to a non-evil doctor. He doesnt tell Nageki about this idea though- Nageki would refuse it outright, and Kazuaki couldnt bear the dissappintment if he told him and then failed)
Nageki... is apprehensive about this plan. But it's the only one they have, the only influence he can possibly exert to try to stop the Hawks without walking immediately into their clutches. His need to do what's right overrules his need to do what's smart.
But he begs- Kazuaki can't do too much for him, can't sacrifice his own wellbeing to keep Nageki hidden, and he can't do ANYTHING that might get him caught. If Kazuaki ever doesn't come home, Nageki is flying in right after him. Nageki has lost three families now- he WON'T lose a fourth, no matter what.
Kazuaki promises. We'll see if he's able to keep it.
WOO okay that's the main part I had planned out. But here's a little more.
I haven't thought as much about ghost!Hitori yet but. Oh man. Ghost Hitori
I think he'd be a lot less bitter than canon Hitori since he achieved what he set out to do (save nageki) but I do think he'd still have regrets enough to not be able to move on (leaving Nageki completely alone, not rescuing him earlier, knowing that there's still danger and being able to do nothing to help it)
I think he'd be less detached from the world and more driven to help others- especially the students, the kids, who were being used unawares of the horrors of the school. If only, if ONLY one of them could hear his warnings
(eventually, years later, Hiyoko can hear his warnings)
I'm also curious about how Shuu's plans would change with Nageki alive- with a burnt medical center and no liver cells to work with, he doesn't have samples of the charon virus. Would he still plan on turning Ryouta into the new carrier when the original carrier was still out there and needed to be recaptured? Lots to think about.
How I'd want to present this, ideally is as a fan game of alternate routes based on these changes
In true hatoful boyfriend fashion all of this is just the backstory to get to where all the characters are at the start of the game. The main plot is about all of the butterfly effects that occur in Hiyoko's experience due to entirely new plot threads occurring

Kryoz is brought into a room full of vampire and werewolves, and all he wants is to leave...
Words: 2.375 | 54.471
Excerpt:
"Orion hasn't been making any progress," a man said, shaking his head. "And I heard Charon took over the medical examination, rumors say they think Orion is hiding information about the Feral Virus."
Can any of these people hear his racing heart? Kryoz felt it won't be able to go down, not until he returned to open air then this closed box.

an entry when his morals were tested. :)
BEAST'S LOGBOOK: FERRY OF THE DEAD
How odiously ambitious of Orchis, to liken their transport train to the vessel that traversed the River Styx, as if they had anything like the kind of power Hades or Charon possessed.
Note to self: check Legacy Virus sample integrity.
Operation proceeded mostly according to plan, considering Wolverine's presence - I was forced to attend, playing the role of field operative, owing to the likely presence of biohazardous material and potential virological agents, and I must confess that while I have somewhat missed the adrenaline rush of being on the ground, I have not missed working with that smelly little barbarian.
When I attempted to dispose of the Orchis agents that Logan had rendered unconscious, he fought me on the matter, reminding me of Krakoa's laws, as if they even remotely apply to me or the rest of my X-Force. When that failed, he attempted to appeal to some form of moral argument that was rendered utterly pointless and hilarious just by virtue of being spoken aloud by the Wolverine of all people.
When that also failed, he appealed to our friendship. Such that it is.
I must admit, I hesitated. For a moment, albeit, but for a moment, nonetheless. While I have, undoubtedly have crossed many a moral line, this would be the essential murder of combatants without the ability to defend themselves, who were unable to act under their own power. And for little gain, also - it would merely close a small loop, rather than send a message or significantly deplete Orchis' manpower. It would, essentially, be a cruelty, rather than a necessity.
I acquiesced, making a show of contrition, and he seemed satisfied.
When we came under attack by Orchis sentry drones, I took the opportunity to violently derail the passenger car that held our prisoners, and told Logan that there was nothing we could have done. To focus his anger and annoyance where it would serve a purpose.
I intimated that it was unintentional.
He seemed unsatisfied, but he, too, acquiesced, realising quite correctly that there was no time and no point in debating the matter.
He is not my friend. I do not take orders from him.
And if he wishes to keep acting as though either of these fantasies are correct, then he will soon find himself with far greater problems to worry about than the disposability of the front line of Orchis' petty racism brigade.
Note to self: continue neurological control collar experimentation.

Blood Curses
There are a number of illnesses associated with The Darkness, some of which are referred to as Blood Curses. The blood curses are named after various deities, based on the solar system, with no apparent ranking to their effect on individuals. However, the most dangerous of which is referred to as Pluto’s Curse.
While some of the blood curses are treatable, others simply carry a death sentence. Either way, there is no true cure to any of the curses. Treatment includes various medicines and surgeries to keep the curse at bay. A strong will is also considered necessary, lest the curse take over the patient.
Pluto’s Curse
A curse notable for its total control of an individual’s system. Contracted through various means but not passed by bloodline. The curse will cause an affected individual to be devoured by a great rage until they become a shell of who they once were. Aggressive in its affliction, very few are able to keep control of themself, losing themselves wholly to The Darkness. Pluto’s Curse changes the very physiology of the affected, granting them inhuman traits.
Notable beings infected by Pluto’s Curse: Ajax Nikolaev.
Neptune’s Curse
A curse notable for its effect on an individual’s immune system, weakening them greatly. Often passed down through bloodlines, rarely contracted by infected blood. This curse leaves the infected individual at great disadvantage against other creatures of The Darkness.
Notable beings infected by Neptune’s Curse: Caïn Constantin, Primrose De La Croix.
Mercury’s Hex
A blood curse known to cause the afflicted to turn into a beast. The type of beast can differ, and as it stands, researchers know little about the transformation. The blood taken from before and after transformation is marked by enough differences to be considered from two separate beings. This transformation is uncontrollable, and if an afflicted individual cannot find their way back to their humanity, they may lose themself to the curse entirely.
Venus’ Blessing
Venus’ Blessing brings both negatives and positives to the afflicted individual. The curse itself will always leave the afflicted hungering for more, a near insatiable state. However, an interesting upside to the curse is a photographic memory, whether it be drawn, spoken, or written language. Those affected by Venus’ Blessing seem to be able to remember any and every piece of information. An almost useful positive to the hungering effect.
Ceres’ Curse
A surprisingly aggressive curse, Ceres’ Curse almost mimics that of Pluto’s Curse, albeit to a lesser degree. Afflicted individuals are known to retain more of their humanity and gain less inhuman physiological traits. Originally thought to be a less aggressive strain of Pluto’s Curse, testing has shown that the virus attacking the system shows a completely different genetic makeup.
Curse of Greater Jupiter
The Curse of Greater Jupiter leaves those cursed by it in a near undead state, untouchable by that which touches the living, but cursed to forever need the life essence of those still breathing in order to survive. Although not considered the worst of the blood curses, those with good conscience often struggle maintaining their lives.
Notable beings infected by Curse of Greater Jupiter: Thalassa Rosenthal.
Saturn’s Curse
A transference curse. Saturn’s Curse works by transferring the pain suffered by others to the cursed individual. This can happen both accidentally or on purpose. Those unable to fight the curse will find themself suffering the pain of others around them without doing anything to instigate it. Others have been known to use their curse to ease the pain of others at great risk to themself. The very nature of this curse makes the affected individual hardier and more resistant to damage, albeit the pain is not ever numbed.
Notable beings infected by Saturn’s Curse: Ohm Ambros.
Charon’s Blessing
While not on the level of Venus’ Blessing, Charon’s Blessing is considered one of the least painful blood curses. The curse is often categorized by the breaking down of the magical essence of those affected by it. This curse is nearly always passed down magical families, and it rarely skips individuals. Because of the nature of the curse, it can only affect those with inherent magical talents.
Notable beings infected by Charon’s Blessing: Julien, Cyrille, Maude Baudelaire.

Hi! Haven't been able to draw too much this week, but here's what I was able to make. Also made some templates for these weekly reports.
@mistalintu and I tried writing a Stardust Crusaders space opera!AU fic, but we're much too busy writing Waltzing with Narcissus to start a new thing. But the idea was fun, so I'm sharing it in case anybody wants to borrow it.
Things start to go south when Jotaro gains psyonic powers. Those are not common among humans so his grandfather drags him to meet an alien named Kakyoin, whose species is known for their psyonics. Kakyoin, however, acts very strangely and even attacks Jotaro, who learns through brief mind contact that Kakyoin is controlled by a gamma-parasyte. Such parasytes come from New Cairo, a human colony infested by an alpha-parasyte called D.I.O. Jotaro's psyonic powers destroy the gamma-parasyte and xenomedics safely get it out of Kakyoin's brain. The brief contact with the thing allows Jotaro to learn that a DNA chip for a cure his family desperately needs to save his mom Holly from a rare space virus is there, on New Cairo.
And so Jotaro, his grandfather Joseph, Avdol, the only surviving colonist from New Cairo, and Kakyoin, Jotaro's new psyonics trainer, head to the infested colony on a ship conveniently called the Stardust Crusader.
Jean-Pierre was adopted by humans and is thus very French. He attacks the crusaders on Charon, gets his ass kicked by Avdol and his brains cleaned by Jotaro and becomes the team's medic. Avdol is the pilot, Kakyoin is the navigator, Jotaro manages the weapons and the defence systems and Joseph is a mechanic (who is not allowed anywhere near the bridge after what happened the last two times).

hello!! i hope this is not rude to say but i wanted to tell you that i found your hatoful boyfriend animatic on youtube a little while back and i really really enjoyed it!!!!!!
i dont think you've done hatoful art in a while but i wanted to tell you that i liked it anyway?
i love the way you do expressions, it makes everything feel so real. the lyrics work really good for the entire animatic and you summarize BBL so perfectly in just four minutes..
i especially love the way 「ラットが死でいた」 is used in the animatic? it starts with hiyoko in the box. and then again, when nageki tells his story with a smile because even though he sacrificed himself, he knows he did it for the right reasons.. and then when ryouta gets the charon virus. and the scene with hitori & nageki... and then?? 「デモクラットが死んでいた」 when ryouta sacrifices himself. i just.... really like the way that's used!!
and the expressions... everyone's expressions are spot-on but some of my favorites are everything with sakuya and also towards the end, with isa & ryuuji, or with shuu & hitori...
i just!! really liked this animatic overall and i have rewatched it SO many times and i got really excited when i realized you were on tumblr and i could send you an ask... your art is really good and i hope you have a good day!!
Awwwwe It's not rude at all and seeing this made me feel so happy! Even though I haven't draw hbf stuffs recently, I still love the game and the time I spent with the game so I'm really glad to know the news, my hbf art made someone happy! Thanks a lot and have a nice day, too! ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ

in MIRROR, Do you think Nageki would be affected by Anghel's pheromones since he's not a ghost on that timeline ? Also the fact that he hasn't got an incredibly myopic worldview like Sakuya or Shuu makes him even more likely to fall to the pheromones (if anything Nageki's pretty open-minded). One one hand all evidence point to Nageki potentially being affected, on the second hand.. this is Nageki, I have trouble imagining him having chuuni hallucinations
Okay, an alive Nageki would DEFINITELY be affected. There's no way he wouldn't be.
But ALSO consider that Anghel can't imagine Nageki having chuuni hallucinations either, so Estelle Campanella simply has the exact same general demeanor as the Nageki we know, he simply no longer questions any of the wild shit that Anghel says, and perhaps occasionally makes esoteric comments about the stars, and is otherwise completely unchanged.
Although the funnier explanation for a Nageki who is immune to Anghel pheromones is that he's not directly immune per se, but that remembering Haltfate's design instantly breaks his immersion so badly that he comes to his senses immediately every time.
Another explanation that isn't plausible at all and actually makes zero sense but I also find really funny is that I just remembered that the charon virus is airborne. Possibly Nageki's own airborne aura simply overpowers Anghel's and so his pheromones can't affect him because there's already so much stuff in the air.
Again, it makes zero sense because in MIRROR he shouldn't have the virus anymore, but the idea of their auras duking it out for supremacy is really really funny to me. Like this
