Over on Tiktok, people are organising to mass block celebrities that haven't talked about Palestine in a campaign called "Blockout 2024". This has spread to Twitter and Instagram as well.

The idea is to mass block a list of major celebrities, including their brands and fan pages, and ignore them. Celebrities get money when we hate on them, but blocking and ignoring them makes them loose attention and therefore money.

Does it work? Well yes! Lizzo lost several million followers in a day and has suddenly spoken out in support of Palestine. You only need to block a social media account. Its very easy.

Which platforms? As many as you have or use. This includes Spotify!

Which celebs? A lot of peoples blocklists vary but the names I've seen the most are:

Rihanna

Beyoncè

Kim Kardashian

Kylie Jenner

Selena Gomez

However, the idea is to block all celebrities and influencers that don't support Palestine or haven't spoken out for Palestine. This can be ANY celebrity or influencer, and yes, this includes Kpop and MCYT. Encourage your fandoms and fan bases to block!

YOU, the consumer, provide a celebrities income. No consumer, no income. It's time to utilise that power!

celebrities will lose money and attention without follows, views, or their stores. there are accounts on tiktok giving block lists, and some include:

blockout also encourages doing other things to make celebrities lose money, such as going to their online shops, putting as much as you can into your cart, and leaving it on the payment screen. this causes the store to lose money as when your items are in the cart, they are essentially on hold and will cause a huge drop in stock.

you can also sign up for these stores with your email and mark all emails as spam. when you see an ad for these celebrities and their affiliated stores, report them and/or press not interested!! this messes with the system and tells tiktok/other medias that these ads are unwelcome and will put out less of them.

this is mainly for celebrities but includes any influencers. youtubers, artists, political figures, anyone. and when they realize that they are losing money, they will pretend to care. do not unblock them!!!

I’ve just been made aware of the blockout 2024, and well, let’s just say my block button is ready for some celebrity meat.

I have long been sick and tired of watching celebes showing off their extreme wealth, while people were dying in Gaza, while people were being killed in Ukraine, while the muslim minority was being sent to concentration camps in China, and while people were being killed and kidnapped in parts of Africa.

Ordinary people can’t afford the cost of living, but celebes can use 75.000$ just for Met Gala tickets, ignoring the calls for peace in Gaza, just outside the venue.

Only support the people that use their influence in ways that will help the world, and not the people that just bought their fifth car this month because they were bored, and is now making you feel insecure and low value, just to make you spend more money.

Scrolling through twitter every day and seeing countless of people begging for donations in order to fucking survive while knowing that celebrities like Taylor could literally solve everything makes my blood boil. Ariana Grande did the bare minimum by sharing (not even donating) a link and thousands of dollars were gathered immediately. Oh my god do I feel this ask down to my soul. Seeing Palestinians having to get down on their knees and beg for people to help them flee their homes so they and their families aren’t murdered by the Israeli government next to people posting and praising their faves who have said NOTHING…I want to commit heinous crimes to say the least.

I said this before but Taylor Swift could pay to evacuate every single person in PALESTINE and have hundreds of millions left over. The financial impact it would have on her would be so small it’s laughable.

What is going on isn’t localized to TS but a reflection of the active downfall of the celebrity and celebrity culture. I’m grateful for #Blockout2024 movement currently happening, forcing celebs to act, but it isn’t enough. Especially with fanbases like Swifties, where they are experiencing infighting about whether or not Taylor should speak up. If your favorite celebrity is your moral compass, you are beyond lost.

This is so consistent with her past behavior, staying silent during the 2016 elections and then conveniently rebranding once she had seen which direction the culture had gone (and then rebranding to fit that current moment as she is always a trend follower). She is going to release a documentary 2 years from now about her regrets on not speaking up and being afraid (using the exact justification Swifties are using now) to speak out because of her safety. Let’s be honest, if she does speak out, it’ll be after she finishes her European leg of the Eras tour, so she could maximize those zionist dollars. She did the same thing with the Reputation tour, where the day after her North American leg ended, she spoke out and openly endorsed Marsha Blackburn, a Democratic Tennessee representative, for the 2018 midterm elections, on Instagram.

I’m far too late to start on supporting a side in the war going on but I want to try. I know I’m months and months late but I want to try. I spent time with some family a little while ago and the news was painting the people dying like the villains and the people protesting like deranged kids. It’s not fair and I want to do something to help.

Can someone explain the block of 2024? Who should be on it? I don’t have money to donate. How else can I help? Is there anything a small platform like me can do to help at all?

After the met gala of this year celebrities finally started posting because their finances are in danger. It feels shitty to start late but I’d rather start now and do something, even if I can’t do much alone.

My FB profile just got locked just moments ago. I was just sharing a GoFund link to an FB group that support 🍉 and suddenly, FB said that I am not allowed to share anything to any FB group anymore...?

Like, I don't even post on FB every day, just about and lurking around.

Then again suddenly after seconds, my profile is locked, and it said that someone is actively trying to hack into my account. I already have the 2-authentication thing set up tho 🙄😮‍💨

Afterwards, it said to retrieve my account, I need to submit a pic of my ID that should at least have the same name as my profile name and at least the same birthday date as on my profile too. Which I did submit the pic, but I guess since my profile name is not my real name and my profile pic on my ID is blurry (thanks to the gov budget camera lol), they further reply through email with this (which really confirms that they really are have been profiling users):

This is actually already my 2nd account, they did a similar thing to my 1st account, which was making users confirm their real names. If you failed to do so, the profile name will be change to your real name and can't ever again be changed. (This may be old school, but it's not actually safe to reveal and use your real name online.)

I guess from that point on, where they make users confirmed their real names, they were already starting profiling users.

I guess with this, I no longer want to make another account coz this is already too inconvenient since it's already my second account.

These celebrities only care about making money off of us "simple folks". They think we're stupid and only see us as a means of gaining more money for themselves.

I think it's really telling that her dad's first reaction to the phrase "nepo daddy" was that he could make money from it by selling merch.
