Ok sooo. Rex becomes the champ at age 16, he probably manages to keep the title at least for 4 years before he begins to earnestly Legend Hunt sometime in his early 20s. Idk if he manages to keep the title during that, i'd imagine he can defend it fine for a bit, but he's less invested in Staying Champion by that point so it's possible he gives it up/lets someone more deserving or active take on the mantle. So thinking about that and how actively (or more likely inactively) he engages with his league duties and fellow league members:

Milo - Rex does better with Milo as he gets older and gets to know him better. He never hates the guy or anything, but interprets how Milo tends to interact sort of as being talked down to/babied and he doesn't do well with that especially as a kid/teen. As reaches more equal footing with Milo though, and as Milo does a lot to help Rex out bc that's what Milo does, Rex warms up to him considerably. I can't imagine them having a lot in common per se but Rex learns to think highly of Milo as he gets older.

Nessa - Personally I don't have a good feel for Nessa fsr so it's hard to say? I'm not entirely sure if Rex would have thoughts one way or another, although he likes her style a lot.

Kabu - Rex admires the guy's fire and stamina, and looks up to how long he's been able to pursue being a gym leader. Rex doesn't aspire to be a gym leader, but seeing an older adult able to commit to something so long term gives Rex hope for his own goals. However, Kabu can come off as strict and discipline-focused at times, and this sort of approach very much does not mesh well with Rex lmao

Allister - Allister is probably a huge Comfort Zone for Rex in a manner of speaking. Rex does better with and is more patient with kids, and Allister's more withdrawn nature reminds him of his cousin Ritsu. Rex is also a ghost type trainer primarily, as referenced above, and the reasons for being one are Also pretty tied to the exploration of death and the dead, even if the motivation is different from Allister's. I'd imagine he talks a lot to Allister to get thoughts and feedback from someone with experience of a close shave with death, who's very close to ghost types and likely more familiar with them than Rex himself is.

Opal - Opal was probably the one he had most trouble with outside of Chairman Rose. He has huge issues with adults that he interprets as doing what they want at the expense of others, and Opal would definitely read that way to him. Plus she's crafty and indirect, which the rather straightforward Rex is easily confused by. She had stepped down when he achieved Champ status, but continued to be present as a mentor for Bede for a bit longer, so I'd imagine Rex had some continued exposure to her for a bit... much to his consternation lol

Bede - eeeh. Rex can understand where Bede is coming from, but the guy has caused him a lot of hassle, and tends to come from a really self-absorbed standpoint. Rex doesn't do well with these types, and doesn't have any energy or sympathy to provide for others. He's a little preoccupied with a tragedy in his own life and dislikes having to entertain those who can't even fathom that he maybe has something more important on his mind than, say, competitions.

Melony - He likes her fine. She means well. But Melony's fussing and nagging can get on his nerves sometimes. As Rex gets more adjusted to the group dynamic he learns it's not unique to him and she's just Like That which helps a lot, but he doesn't respond well to her way of interacting at times, and, unlike the others Melony can be rather set in her side of things, so it's hard for Rex to warm up to her.

Piers - Piers is a good balance for Rex - an older brother who will step in and watch out for others' backs, but also knows when to give them space and do their own thing. Rex also admires his stances and how he sticks to his principles, and while Rex will dynamax, he never does so with Piers out of respect of that (although if Piers were to call him out for it he'd gladly change that practice). After everything Piers has done for him and Hop, and for everything he does for Spikemuth and the other gym leaders, Piers is held in high regard by Rex. (It doesn't hurt that his music rocks and they're both Obstagoon trainers. Rex loves hearing stories about Piers's Obstagoon and comparing them to his own lol)

Raihan - he's like. Meme photo pals with Raihan of a sort? I'd imagine they're also good battle pals, but I picture the two of them engaging in no-context photo conversations that baffle the others in the group chat and/or their social media. Examples include Rex sending blurry images of himself seconds from death as a Legendary comes after his ass (and Raihan committing to the meme bit in reply); and eventually the two of them starting this odd running joke of taking the worst quality pictures of each other to send - or post - with zero context.

Leon - Leon is Rex's closest older friend, a sort of older brother figure for him given the close association to him and Hop. While Leon does become the Champion and become more absent in later years, he most likely has kept more in touch with Rex where possible, out of worry and concern. He is also the one who gifted Rex his starter Miki, to make sure Rex wasn't alone during one of the roughest periods of his life, so Rex always thinks highly of Leon and hopes to support him in kind someday.

Chairman Rose - Rex overall was indifferent to Rose, kinda disliked his vibe but couldn't care enough. It wasn't until the Eternatus bullshit, which nearly got Leon and Hop killed, that Rex truly hated the chairman. I'm not entirely sure what becomes of the league chairman status given Rose turns himself in, I haven't checked in a bit? I originally wrote this forgetting he turned himself in so this is probably a moot bullet point lmao

So yeah! Hopefully this basically gives some insight on his dynamics with the others. I think the basic takeaway here is as Rex gets older he finds it a LOT easier to get along with them, as Rex tends to be hyperaware of the gaps between 'teen' and 'adult', so lessening that gap goes a long way.

And Rex is a bit of a hothead, but generally prefers to be friendly with people so long as they don't have beef with him, so I'd imagine if anything he gets closer with a lot of them by the time he's stepped down and mellowed out as an adult.

Excellent question, I haven't thought too hard on it so far but I do have Some ideas?

I'm gonna go down the list of leaders to think more on this in a reblog, but tl;dr version of league attachments afaik is:

Rex is closest to the former champ Leon due to being neighbors and buddies with him and Hop;

he Cannot Stand Chairman Rose after maingame events;

I think he gets along well with Raihan at least as online pals bc I can easily envision him sending stupid selfies his way?

I can also see him being cool with Piers bc Piers is one of the few adults in his life who actually goes out of his way in canon to help the player with shit that the other adults would minimize or do less for which is a Big Thing for Rex and his storyline

I'd also imagine, since Rex is Shield-based and also primarily a Ghost Type trainer he probably does well with Allister and tbh I can see him talking to the kid A Lot for various reasons

...Aside from the chairman these are all like my biggest faves so there's obvious bias on who I've thought about for this lol. BUT I do like a lot of the gym leaders overall so this sounds like a fun thing to think on more!

I'd imagine for the rest of them he gets on fine, but Rex does also become something of an absent champion after a point too, so it's possible he just doesn't quite bond with them enough While Champion (although I'd imagine the league themselves don't limit their friendships and associations based on Active Champ status so this still leaves room for friendships after the fact imo)

so, I tend to think of Loft having something similar to chronic fatigue syndrome, possibly caused by the sickness that sweeps Skyloft when he and Zelda are young and nearly kills Zelda (I don't remember what the basis is for this- if it's in the manga or just fanon). Yeah, I agree! Doesn't matter your health state whether you're healthy or ill if you're health-conscious. I always saw Melone as the weaker one (not in mental fortitude) cause physically he wasn't as built as the others. I feel still that he has some muscle on him regardless, most likely from doing stuff like moving things or other miscellaneous tasks. Just not as much stamina and strength.

Health issues always seem to pull groups together, from my notice. I say this sorta from experience cause I got epilepsy and have to take pills every day. My family had and has to accommodate for some stuff to keep me safe but the love is still there. I totally vibe with Mel unable to drink alcohol because meds not mixing well and I'm the same way lmao. As well as Prosciutto being a mom and trying to keep Mel from doing something stupid that could affect him medically. My mom is the same way.

As for Illuso....well I don't see him physically ill, but I think we all know he's arrogant and full of himself LMAO. I mentioned aggression with him because I recently re-read his battle. He was calm (but not Mel calm) but you could see he has some aggression simmering in him too, I just think a little deeper down than individuals like Ghiaccio and Prosciutto. If he WAS I'll in any way, I defs believe it'd be mental.

When I described Mel as pretty calm and quiet before, I think the closest comparison would be Weather Report. Just, naturally calm. But he defs ain't THAT quiet. No, no, I believe he talks much more. Just trying to give an example that would give you a good idea.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you! I love your interpretation of Melone 😩👌 when I first read your stuff I was all 'sickly/lots of problems Mel? Sounds a little out there since he comes off as a health-conscious person to me....' But like. At the same time it just makes so much sense somehow??? Him unable to have gluten is so cute and when you mentioned him being weak + bullied as a kid I could totally see it. He may come off as strong enough and capable in canon, but he just doesn't seem as aggressive as the others. I suppose the lack of lots of aggression makes him seem a bit weaker to some? Aww gosh, I'm so glad you enjoyed my Melone interpretations! My start with him was rocky, and I owe a lot to Melone fans (in particular the friends I made on Twitter) for helping me broaden my horizons, so I want to thank them again for everything! The Baby Face Laptop lore on this blog is as fun and rich as it is because of them.

You have actually made me very curious now, because the headcanon that Melone has a lot of issues seemed pretty popular on Twitter, and I never really saw anyone who portrayed him as health-conscious or fairly healthy and strong, so it would be cool to see what that looks like! <3 I personally put my interpretation down to things like his Stand's design removing him from the need to fight, the way one eye is covered by his eye-band, etc. You raise a valid point about aggression being seen as a sign of weakness sometimes, especially when Ghiaccio and Prosciutto are both aggressive AND objectively the two strongest Stands on Vento Aureo (I did the meta math), but hopefully I was not guided by it for Melone because I definitely don't agree with this idea on principle. I guess there's just something about his general vibe that is rife for health speculation, especially if fans relate to him and have health issues themselves, because among the JoJo fans I knew on Twitter, it was common to see these headcanons for Melone while the other La Squadra members had little to nothing thrown their way. Maybe I just didn't get to talk to enough people, but I seemed alone with say, Pesci and Turner Syndrome, or the conditions I portray Prosciutto with on account of The Grateful Dead. Addiction headcanons are way more common for Prosciutto than health-related ones for sure.

I'm rambling too now, haha, but yeah, it's an interesting subject! :D

I'm usually the definition of a lurker but I'm leaving the safety of the void to ask about what you think the other curses would be for each of the Links. I thought up a few but I want to hear what you think they'd be!

Sky: No idea

Four: Forcing all the Links to split. So there's now 36 Links! I can only imagine the chaos :)

Time: De-aging/advanced-aging curse. So either everyone gets turned into kids or old men, or a mix of both. Or maybe a timeloop! Or maybe something to do with his masks? He has too many possibilities!

Legend: The Pain-Sharing AU

Hyrule: I want to say The Blood Curse gets shared, but none of them would even know unless the monsters started sacrificing them so... maybe everyone turns into fairies?

Twilight: Animal/Dark World Forms Curse.

Wind: Its a common headcannon that Wind can see spirits right? Maybe the spirit sense gets spread around? But that seems more like a benefit than a curse...

Warriors: Uhhhh...? No idea.

princess peach is litterally so sweet and considerate without even needing to be told which both helps and hurts luigi alot sense he worries about hurting her in particular a lot but also he feels supported and even somewhat normal sometimes

like immediately adding welcome sign at the castle entrance, removing a lot of decorative mirros and replacing them with paintings and flower vases etc.

i really want to get into luigi's idenitity issues at some point, he's struggling a lot with that sense it's a lot easier to think of himself as somebody with vampirism vs a vampire, this loss of humanity is something i really want to explore more

Hi! Had some questions about the Specialists if you don't mind me asking: What weapons do they use? Do they have a favorite? What are their fighting styles? Do they carry anything else with them while on missions? Thanks for reading, your headcanons are truly amazing💕.

Here are their weapons. So Red Fountain weapons are low-key magic, like the boys aren’t using enough magic to have any eye shine effect or even be considered “mages” but they are enchanted to an extent. The gem featured on Specialist Armor is capable of absorbing and storing some magic, this can be directed inward to up stamina and strength in a fight but isn’t usually. The armor gem is linked to another, usually smaller, gem on the specialist’s chosen weapon/s. The gem on the weapon will generate projectiles/blades/shields. The phantoblades are able to absorb large magical attacks, which is partially why the specialists are even able to accompany the winx on so many missions (the other part is pure spite and stubbornness lmao) Both gems start out clear and gain more color the longer the specialist uses them but can be changed up if needed. Paladin weapons are built on the same technology, but have no gem generated surfaces. They’re a lot closer to a wizards magic item, though the spells are fairly limited. Paladin weapons are not interchangeable, and are specifically crafted for individuals (specialists weapons can be tweaked but are pretty standardized). The weapons have a compact and two engaged modes, they’re usually carried like keychains. paladin weapons are technically linked to the gem on the uniform but the connection isn’t as strong as with specialists, meaning its a lot easier to use paladin weapons out of uniform while specialists usually need to have both gems on them.

Sky: Short sword and shield. Sky is a brawler, and uses his shield more like a blunt weapon than a defensive item. He has a low center of gravity and is incredibly strong (eraklyon trait) making it hard to unbalance or overpower him. However, he isn’t very flexible and has a tendency to “strong arm” weapons into working for him instead of learning proper technique.

Brandon: Long sword or dual blades. Brandon is the unofficial bodyguard of the group, partially because of experience and partially because he’s the mom friend. his major strengths are vigilance, quick reaction times, and raw physical power. He does jump the gun and fall for feints though.

Timmy: Gun or sickle in emergencies. If given enough distance, Timmy wins almost 90% of his fights, his glasses are to filter light, not for vision, so his aim is the best on the team. however in a hand to hand situation Timmy doesn’t do so well, he doesn’t have the physical strength many of his teammates do and has to hope his opponents are weak to pressure points and bony elbows.

Helia: hand blades and wires. Helia prefers to be non-violent. His glove is custom made, and allows him the detail level of control needed to restrain instead of slice (if anyone else tried to use it the wires would be super stiff and very slice-happy). Helia primarily takes care of environmental obstacles, or restrains already subdued opponents. fun fact! If Helia wanted to he could snap out the wires, wrap some one up, and then quickly close his fist to slice them into paper thin segments :)

Riven: riven is extra and has three, a cutlass/machete horror, dual bladed scythe but like. mini. and a crossbow. Riven is the most weapon heavy on the team, and trains intensely to master them (not that he would ever let anyone KNOW he has to work for it lmao the prick). his biggest problem is his personality (as usual) he has trust issues and refuses to ask for help, often leaving him in more dangerous situations than he can handle even with his weapons and combat skill.

Roy: stabby bo and a gaff. Roy is an agile fighter, having spent most of his life as a deckhand in his family business, he can fight on almost any surface and has insane balance. He lacks experience and often hesitates to strike decisive blows.

Thoren: sword and hammer. Though Thoren’s focus is more support oriented, as the oldest warrior in this bunch he’s a power house and not a fighter to be taken lightly. He really only pulls the hammer/sword out if he really needs to, preferring to use a form of mixed martial arts that targets the joints instead. His weapon has earth focused spells, and can cause shaking, fissures, and rock projectiles.

Nex: polearm and a set of dual daggers. Nex is also a strong fighter, easily picking up new skills. However in fights he lacks restraint, jumping in to action with out a plan or proper observation of his opponent. Nex relies heavily on his pole arm in the beginning of his paladin training, but has slowly started to prefer the daggers. Being a younger paladin his weapon doesn’t have a specialized set of spells, but can wield elongated slashes for attacks and a shockwave to push enemies back.

For missions, they will carry their weapon/s, a communication device, ration capsules(basically food in pill form), and healing patches with them in case of injures. The ships the specialists use are also fully stocked with repair supplies, tools, a water filtration system, more food stuffs, and a healing chamber in case of severe bodily harm(think tanning bed but medical and good for you). Paladins usually have a base they work from and rely more on that institution's resources than their own.

4. What was your first Warden (gender/class/race/personality)?

Neira Surana (female elven mage)! My og girl <3 I love her a lot even if I don't give her enough attention on this blog ^^"

She's primarily a Spirit Healer but also an Arcane Warrior (she only really uses those abilities to increase her stamina/be able to wear heavy armour though). She's more a quiet introverted type but also the kind of person who manages to get along with everyone somehow, very down-to-earth and mature but not nearly as confident in herself as one might expect. Great at taking care of other people, horrible at taking care of herself, very acutely aware of her responsibilities and always worried about making wrong decisions and/or negatively impacting other people. She does grow into her role as Warden Commander (and Chancellor to king Alistair) though and is better at what she does than she realises.

5. What was your first Hawke like (gender/class/temperament)?

Liam Hawke (male human rogue) my beloved. Definitely the one I got the most invested in, and I was not prepared for the Painᵀᴹ he was gonna face :') He's a dual wielding rogue and technically has the assassin specialisation, but I don't think I ever actually used/unlocked any of the talents haha. He's more of a jack of all trades type of guy anyways so it does fit for him to have no proper specialisation anyways. His main temperament was purple/humorous, but his tone kinda shifted from mostly green/red (Prologue) > green/purple (Act 1) > purple (Act 2) > purple/red (Act 3) in varying degrees. He's someone who really just wants his family and friends to be happy and the gradual death of all his relatives unsurprisingly takes its toll on him. Definitely a mum friend, hella extroverted and social, awful puns and sarcasm all around, unbearably sappy with his close family and s/o, very very bad at working through trauma and grief, Very Tired And Done With Everthing by Act 3. Y'know, the usual.

6. First Inquisitor (gender/class/race/personality)?

June Trevelyan (female human mage), Rift Mage and absolute disaster (affectionate). Has issues with authority, is insufferably rebellious and stubborn, cannot handle expectations or stress At All, emotionally very reactive and has no brain to mouth filter, cannot Politics to save her life, is essentially selfish in her motivations, absolutely Did Not Sign Up For This Shit, and just generally not at all suitable for the role of Inquisitor. She is very driven though, blunt but honest, opinionated but generally open minded and inquisitive (lol), highly interested in anything and everything controversial and unconventional, especially if magic related. Very much an ambivert; needs time to herself sometimes, specially when anxious or stressed, but also loves causing mayhem with her squad, generally frisky and energetic when in a good mood, and has no sense of modesty. Honestly just wants to vibe and do crime.

39. Creepiest moment in the games?

A couple! Well tbh I'm not sure creepy is entirely the right word for all of these, but I'll list my favourites anyways

Hands down the most revolting and disturbing thing DA has done imo were the Dead Trenches. The buildup to the Broodmother, with the Darkspawn gore getting worse and worse the further you go? Hespith's chanting while you progress until finally meeting her and finding out what happened? The realisation that this exact thing could have happened to a female Warden if they hadn't escaped Ostagar? The sheer wrongness and and grossness of the entire concept? It makes my stomach churn every time and I love it so much.

The Circle Tower has a very similar vibe, still disturbing but not quite as much as the Dead Trenches, again with the gore getting worse the higher you climb, the halls littered with mage corpses and abominations (and friggin drakes smh??) and just.. how obvious it is that something is very very wrong here, with the anticipation of what the Warden has to face at the top of the tower, it's great.

Now what's genuinely creepy imo is Haven. Love the vibe of these sorts of villages littered with little unsettling details (the blood shrine (?), barely any people to be seen, that one kid with the eerie nursery rhyme...) that are so clearly off, and the whole cult thing the village has going on? Love it. Same goes for the abandoned orphanage in the Alienage, that sort of thing always creeps me out too, in the best way.

And idk Origins as quite a few creepy-ish places imo. I know I was somewhat on edge when going down the Brecilian Ruins for the first time, or through the Temple of Sacred Ashes. Even Honnleath had an eerie sort of atmosphere to it. Also the Blackmarsh and the Mother's Lair from Awakening are both very creepy and gross respectively.

In DA2 it's definitely Quentin and his.... project, it's so messed up and gross and wrong and god the horror of hearing about the lilies and following that blood trail just to find that is awful and I hate it so so much. I love it.

Inquisition's creepiest section by far is In Hushed Whispers. The whole thing with red lyrium growing everywhere, out of the walls, the people, everything, warden corpses lying around, the sky outside being Fade-like, the end sequence with your companions making a last stand to let you escape... and just all the implications of that future are so disturbing and frightening.

The Raw Fade was creepy too, although imo not so much the Fade itself but the little snippets and details littered around. Some of the statues are really creepy (like that weird goat statue in that first section? those rough head-ish looking things all over? the various probably-Tevinter contraptions? the huge statue of Andraste (?)? lots of weird stuff), but what got me more were the various codex entries. Some of the ones about slaves and experiments were very alarming, but mostly the "Fears of Dreamers" were the ones that gave me goosebumps.

99. Where would you live (Fereldan, Orlais, Free Marches etc?)

Hmm probably the Marches or Ferelden. Rivain and Antiva sound lovely but I'm not made for more tropical climates, I think the temperate climate in southern Thedas would be more up my ally. Also just generally prefer the more rural and less hectic vibe I get from those countries.

who is more likely to raise their voice?

Naomi. I can’t see Nate ever raising his voice at her out of anger. Maybe out of worry but never anger.

Naomi. Better to leave than get left.

who actually keeps their word and leaves?

God, neither of them. I can see maybe Naomi telling Nate she needs to go drive around and cool down but none of them would just outright leave. Naomi might be stubborn about her feelings but she knows that Nate is someone important to her.

who trashes the house?

During an argument? Yikes neither of them. Especially Nate. He’s very conscious of how he positions himself in an argument cause he’s So Big and a vampire compared to Naomi who is very short and human. Day to day? Naomi lmao. She just leaves a trail of mess in the morning.

do either of them get physical?

God no! Naomi has to convince him to spar with her and that usually ends with Nate catching her in his arms and kissing her until she’s out of breath from laughing and has to tap out.

how often do they argue/disagree?

Not often early on but the more feelings get involved the more they have disagreements with things like how much Naomi puts herself in danger. Naomi also pushes Nate away a little out of fear when they start getting so close. Whenever Nate mentions Rebecca/tries to mend their relationship whatever his intentions it always results in a fight and a silent treatment from Naomi. Nate also gets super pissed when she doesn’t tell him things which is a hard habit to break for her.

who is the first to apologize?

Naomi usually. She’s the one who usually gets the angriest/has the most vitriol when she’s angry so once she cools down she feels absolutely awful. Apologizing with Nate is always so easy with him too and he apologizes in return and is so soft in discussing the issue after everything has simmered down.

Uh...Nate is usually the more dominant person but obviously very gentle and servicing in it. He’s the person who gently directs Naomi, slows her down, makes her enjoy it which is So Much. That’s when they have time of course. When Naomi wants a quickie she’s normally the one in charge but that’s pretty rare because Nate can’t seem to grasp the quickie concept. They have four! Alice is the first and the two of them are so incredibly excited. Holden is born about three years after Alice - the two of them kind of wanted to settle into parenting before they added another kid to the pile lmao. Their third - Watson - is a surprise! A pleasant surprise but a surprise nonetheless. Naomi’s pregnant with him about a year after Holden is born and then two years after Holden their little baby Josephine is born!

AFFECTION.

who likes to cuddle?

Naomi!! She loves to cuddle him all the time especially when they’re reading/she’s doing work on her laptop/etc. She’s so comfortable and relaxed when they cuddle it’s very sweet. She feels super safe with him.

NATE. He’s the worst and so smooth about it and just looks at Naomi’s exasperation with the warmest, sweetest smile of bemusement.

Bed! Or anywhere really in Naomi’s place. They’re alone and they can just be themselves and are all safe and warm. Nate and Naomi really love having a place of their own esp Naomi.

Naomi probably only snores when she’s drunk and it’s LOUD.

They eventually share a bed (BED SHARING WHEN). Naomi is an insomniac but she sleeps really well with Nate. They help soothe away each other’s nightmares and hold each other.

if they sleep together, do they cozy up together or lay far apart?

Cozy together at first but as their relationship progresses they lay what’s comfortable to them but the thing is they always have to be touching even a little bit. They’ll lay back to back and Nate will have his hand behind him on her hip or smth like that.

what do they wear to bed?

Well, we know Nate loves some silky matching pajamas!! (Naomi loves them too) Naomi typically sleeps in sleep shorts and a t-shirt or just a t-shirt and underwear. Naomi won’t sleep in Nate’s t-shirt but she’ll grab them if she’s getting up to go start tea in the morning.

are either of them insomniacs?

Naomi is! She used to take pills for it back when she was first getting over her mental health issues but she stopped taking them because she didn’t like the way they made her feel. Nate just doesn’t sleep as much as normal humans do.

can sleeping pills be found by the bedside?

I’m not sure if Naomi would ever go back on them tbh.

do they wrap their limbs around each other or just lay side by side?

Nate wants to hold Naomi ALL the time so he’s like a little octopus. She gets in bed and he’s pulling her close. Like I said, later they lay side by side in a way that’s comfy for each other but they always have to be touching. Sometimes, one of them will wake up and reach out just to make sure the other’s still there.

who wakes up with bed hair?

NATEY! It’s very cute and Naomi idly smooths it over, runs her fingers through it and then messes it up again when they’re waking up and still in bed. One time, Rebecca came to drop something off for Naomi early one morning and Nate came out with bed hair in his pajamas from her bedroom since he didn’t know she was there and that was the most awkward experience of Naomi’s life.

who wakes up first?

Naomi during the weekdays/days she has to work and Nate on the days neither of them have to work! Whoever’s up puts the kettle on and gets the mail/newspaper, waters the plants, etc.

who prepares breakfast in bed for the other?

Nate!! It’s his Thing and he definitely did it the first time they slept together. Naomi teased him about it but kissed him and told him that she loved it and it was very sweet of him. She’s never had someone make her breakfast in bed before so Nate tries to do it as often as he can.

what is their favourite sleeping position?

Nate on his back with Naomi curled into his side is their default! Spooning is also a thing and they flip-flop who spoons who. Sometimes they shift during the night and it changes. When Naomi cuts her hair in Book 3 it makes it 10x easier since Nate isn’t choking on her hair lmao.

do they set an alarm each night?

Yep! Naomi sets one on her phone. Naomi pats him and tells him to turn it off sometimes and honestly that makes sure she gets up because Nate spends like ten minutes trying to turn the alarm off.

who has nightmares?

Both. Naomi’s are more often but Nate’s are more intense and really bad on the rare occasion they happen.

can a television be found in their bedroom?

Nope. I think for Nate that would be a hard no. Naomi reads when she goes to bed instead of watching TV because it helps her fall asleep so I can’t see her really wanting one either.

who has ridiculous dreams?

Nate seems like he’d have weird dreams and loves telling them to Naomi over breakfast. I feel like they love jokingly analyzing each other’s dreams too even if they don’t actually believe in that stuff. Naomi looks up those dream meaning sites on her phone and very seriously tells Nate is prognosis is not good.

who sprawls out and takes up most of the bed?

Nate. Even not sprawled out he takes up so much of their bed dgdskjgg. Luckily, Naomi’s pretty compact so it doesn’t affect her much. His legs will tangle up with hers though while he sleeps or he splays them out.

who makes the bed?

Nate! Naomi just lets him do it because she’s learned whenever she protests him doing stuff for her he insists he loves her and just wants to make things easier on her. Naomi rolls her eyes, Nate gives her a kiss and continues doing what he’s doing. It’s just best not to argue.

what time is bed time?

They get into bed EARLY if they can cause they’re Old People (™), Naomi usually doesn’t fall asleep for hours and sits there reading/working on her laptop/etc. Nate will usually fall asleep first and Naomi follows after at around 11/12.

any routines/rituals before bed?

I guess reading together before bed counts? Nate always kisses Naomi’s forehead or cheek before he goes to bed and tells her he loves her. It’s to the point where smth happens where Nate doesn’t get to kiss her before bed and Naomi’s like….:( wait smth’s not right.

who’s the grumpiest when they wake up?

NAOMI. Nate is a sunshiney morning person and she loves him but that’s the one time she wants to strangle him.

WORK.

who is the busiest?

It depends what’s going on! So much of their work depends on other factors that are out of their control but Naomi is busy most of the time. Nate has more free time than she does and that’s why he likes to help out around her apartment/their house more to carry his share of the load!

who rakes in the highest income?

I assume...Nate might make more since Naomi is new to the Agency?

are any of them unemployed?

Nope!

who takes the most sick days?

Sick days? Water those? Naomi is such a workaholic she’s that dickhead who comes into work sick and gets everyone else sick. Nate has to force her to stay in bed when she’s sick and has even called the station to let them know she’s not coming in (Douglas can hear Naomi telling him to give her the phone in the background before he hands up dlkgjsdkg)

what are their jobs?

Naomi is an Agency Liason and Detective. Nate is an Agent of the Agency!

who sucks up to their boss?

Naomi has 0 patience for sucking up anymore. She used to when she was younger but she’s disillusioned with the Captain and Adam and her don’t get along/disagree on a lot of stuff. She really needs to respect you for her to suck up to you.

who is more likely to turn up late to work?

Neither of them really? Maybe Naomi is slightly more likely to. Naomi loves to try and get Nate to stay in bed just a little bit longer and sometimes those efforts lead to the two of them forgetting they actually have jobs to go to.

who stresses the most?

Both! They both hide it really well too but they’ve both caught onto the signs of them being stressed. Naomi starts smoking a lot and Nate can smell it on her. Nate is a bit more reserved than he normally is and has little tics that Naomi catches on.

do they enjoy or despise their careers/occupations?

Naomi likes it because it challenges her but I don’t think she likes a lot of the bureaucracy and paperwork of either being a detective or agent. She also likes the idea of following in her father’s footsteps and that’s why she joined the force. She originally was going to be a social worker but kinda went the easier path after her bad years. It made her feel connected to her father which she really needed. I think Nate really likes his job! Naomi’s distrust of the Agency might cause a little friction.

are they financially stable?

Naomi! She usually just throws a load in when she’s done with a shower or heading to work. Nate folds and puts them away though!

Naomi! She usually takes it on her way out.

Nate! He’s very good at it and can do some mean pleats. Naomi hates ironing things so he’s happy to do it.

It depends on who has time! Usually Nate.

Early on for Naomi maybe a little (not terribly so) but later on when they’re together no their combined salaries make them pretty stable.

Just one originally - Naomi’s shitty little baby car. They trade it in eventually for just a regular nice car and when Naomi gets pregnant they buy a second car that’s a Suburban to cram all their kids in.

Naomi rents an apartment and I think the Agency owns the Warehouse? When the two of them get married, Nate buys a house in Wayhaven for them to fix up! It’s very cute and has a big yard.

Naomi....hates Wayhaven to say the least. Gossip hound neighbors, uncooperative mayor, bad memories, her stupid ex...she just wants to move anywhere but she’s so attached to this town. Nate really loves Wayhaven and weirdly helps Naomi see the beauty in her town again?

God, miss each other so much. Naomi less so, she’s used to being pretty independent but ofc she still misses him. She can at least get shit done. Nate is the worst because he’s mooning over her on a mission and the rest of UB complains about it. Makes one of the others call Naomi on his cell every night so they can Facetime. Abandoned warehouse in Book 1, babey! She shoots her future husband’s best friend in the shoulder. It takes awhile for those two to like each other obviously.

NATE. Bougie king. Naomi teases him about it too but she also gets the benefit of his obnoxious thread count sheets, giant bath and him smelling faintly of expensive cologne and body wash all the time. So, Naomi quit complaining.

who’s more likely to flash their assets?

Dkgjsg Naomi does this all the time because it’s too entertaining not to. If it’s when other people are around she’s sending him Signals or doing stuff like that Nate gets all flustered and leans his chin on his hand and tries to cover up the little smirk he has. Raises his eyebrows at her and gets That Look.

any mental issues?

Well, Nate clearly has some kind of PTSD due to his fear of storms/other very obvious factors. Naomi has pretty severe depression and honestly probably a little touch of BPD. She also has some anxiety (not as bad as the depression) but enough that she bites her nails down and has to paint them/get fake ones so she doesn’t ruin her teeth.

who finds it amusing when the other trips over?

Nate usually just catches Naomi and has a little smile that she jokingly glares at him for. Naomi tries...so hard not to laugh but Nate is...so not graceful some times. Like a baby giraffe. He legs too long for he gotdam bodee.

Naomi! DISGOSTHANG.

who kills the spiders around the house?

Nate! But he usually gets a cup and a piece of paper and takes it outside. Naomi usually loves that he’s gentle but also will die if he comes close with that thing. He’s always like, “See, it just wants to go back outside.” And Naomi’s got the most unamused face while she’s standing on the couch sdgsjkg.

do they have any fears for their future?

Uh...yeah definitely. Besides the normal ya know, being kidnapped/murdered for her blood, Naomi is...terrified that Nate will come to his senses and leave her. She has horrible fears of abandonment and not being worthy. She’s just...always waiting for the shoe to drop. Nate is also terrified for her safety but also worried a lot for her mental state the more he learns about her past. He loves her and supports her and wants to stay with her for...eternity if she lets that happen. Of course, that’s also a fear that Naomi might not want to live forever and see all her family and friends die. That it might exacerbate her already lonely, heartbroken, abandoned nature. That he’ll doom her to a life she doesn’t want just because she loves him. Ha ha...anyways.

They of course both love the Warehouse but they love Naomi’s apartment because it’s just them and they get some privacy. Just a detective and her vampire...playin house.

Nate! He cooks for Naomi so much! She offhandedly told him once that she doesn’t usually have time to cook with how busy she is (also...the Depression) so he’s always surprising her when she comes home. It’s very special when he buys all the ingredients and they cook together because Naomi likes to cook it’s just such an effort! Good date nights for them is cooking a new recipe tbh.

Nate tries to pay them all but Naomi splits them.

Natey! He teases Naomi about it sometimes. They’ve got a foot height difference.

Naomi! She loves sneaking into the shower with Nate not even just for some naughty times but she loves bathing with Nate. He’ll wash her hair for her and she’ll do the same for him. It’s about….the caregiving.

Naomi! But I’m fixated on Nate getting comfortable at her place enough to wander around in his boxers.

Nate’s teasing is so gentle and has no real weight to it. Like teasing Naomi about being such a workaholic and trying to get her to bed. Naomi calls Nate really goofy as hell pet names that are purposefully cringey but shh Nate secretly likes any pet name Naomi calls him. They typically are just pretty flirty teasing esp poking each other when they’re trying to focus on smth or they’ll be reading in the library and Naomi will catch his eyes and wiggle her eyebrows. Nate’ll counter back with something like “You know I can’t concentrate with you looking at me like that.” Naomi also gets a little flirty and competitive when it comes to games or any kind of challenge which makes Nate SWEAT.

who is more likely to cringe at the other’s fashion sense at times?

Well, we all know Nate is the best dressed member of Bravo and Naomi is usually pretty well-dressed if somewhat minimalistic and plain. I don’t think either of them really would unless Naomi was in a slump and clearly like...not practicing self care and Nate noticed. Nate just doesn’t seem like a Judgy person unless it’s a symptom of smth else.

Natey! Naomi was close behind though it didn’t really hit her for a while.

any alcohol or substance related problems?

Naomi used to rely a lot on alcohol in her teenage years/college days so she’s pretty aware of that dependence and doesn’t really get drunk very much. She also smokes - though she tries to hide it like she’s a teenager still living in her mother’s house lmao. I can’t see Nate having any kind of those problems esp with vampire metabolism.

who is more likely to stumble home, drunk, at 3am?

Naomi! When she does drink it’s usually a night out with Tina and Nate is very sweet about. Makes her drink a glass of water and take an aspirin (much to her displeasure) before getting her in bed.

Naomi, obviously lmao. Usually when she’s exasperated. It’s normally when she’s Tired of Shit and not an angry thing really? I don’t see her cursing when she fights with someone either.

ahh i had another request for this a while back as well which i started working on and then... forgot to finish lol

to be honest her fighting skills are actually pretty good i think? we love talking about how noob she was in season one, but the one thing that she’s never had an issue with is her physical ability. then she becomes a national kendo champ, top out of every single cadet, and then basically only gets better and better in terms of physical skill. she gets overpowered or beaten a pretty reasonable and realistic number of times but also fights back really well at other times - kind of like the love interests, who also sometimes get beaten and kidnapped bc sadly (for them, not me) that’s just the life of a public safety officer.

but anyway i try to give a sense of how they relate specifically to a great fighter mc:

he’s.... proud yet insecure? obviously he loves having a partner who can fight her way out of a pinch, but he’s also still worried for her and he also still wants to be able to be needed by her and to protect her. he hopes that she won’t feel like she can just fight through everything on her own and will rely on him as an equal too.

kaga:

tbh kaga’s not easily impressed by anything - and he’s not that impressed by this either. he also thinks that this is about the standard she should be at because of her training (and also his extra training... 50 laps of a standard oval is like 40km?! plus all his extra crunches + pushups training, i mean this girl at least has the strength and stamina of a tank, not to mention all the actual skills-based physical training they get on top of that) and is just more concerned that her body stays soft tbh lmao.

ishigami:

this is the standard that she should be at, as a trained public safety officer - any less and what’s the point of the academy? but he’s proud that all her training and practice and hard work has paid off, and is probably more impressed at that attitude than her actual physical ability. so long as she can apply that same level of work to all the other skills she’s learning (which she does) and learn how to strategise and write a good plan of action, he’s sure she’ll be a great and all-rounded officer without relying solely on physical ability.

soma:

honestly he’s... turned on. i mean this is actually canon lol, since soma has basically become peak horny multiple times and/or expressed admiration and attraction to his mc’s physical skill. he’s (canonically) got it reaaaally bad for seeing her all sweaty and working hard in the dojo. he’s so proud of her for winning her matches at the national tournament. he gets genuinely fuckstruck lovestruck that time when she takes down and secures a dude way bigger than her in an alley with an umbrella (which also... he did that too before with a random pipe ;~~; we love these parallels), so yeah basically he’s crazy attracted to her.

the number of comments he makes about brawn over brains is unreal? it’s neither here nor there to him that she can choke a man out in the blink of an eye but unless she masters advanced level hacking then he... doesn’t care. public safety is so much more than just beating people up and when will she learn how to think outside the box?

he kind of has mixed feelings about his hiyokko being a hot lil action star. on the one hand, she has so much potential for being a public safety agent and he’s very proud of her, on the other hand it exacerbates his insecurities about being too old for her and whether or not she deserves better. he’ll make positive comments/boast about it publicly, but can’t help but worry a little bit on the inside still.

he’s wildly proud and will NOT shut up about having an action hero girlfriend. he literally will take every single sentence you say and turn it into him bragging about how cool she was fighting this or that time. he literally turns goukons into group lectures where he can’t help but just go on and on about how badass she is until all the girls are like why the f are you here when you have a girlfriend?

tsugaru:

he... tries to brainwash her into becoming another one of his loyal pawns so he basically has another human weapon under his belt? he’d loooove to have a hitman squad of momo and usa - he basically admits to this in goto’s battlefield. tsugaru (initially, and only sometimes, to be fair) sees her as a tool for his disposal, and having another tool who can kick perps’ asses without breaking a sweat? great for him. with that said, he kind of has a complex about the academy so honestly it would be more of an issue if she had all that training and wasn’t as good as she is.

momose:

he’s surprised and impressed. again, this is basically canon (i think a lot about that scene in the warehouse where momo and usa fight perfectly in sync without a plan or a word and momo is like shocked), but for someone like momo, demonstrating physical ability is the quickest way to win him over. if she can fight at his level and even teach him some extra moves, that’s a surefire way to earn his respect. although let’s be real.... no one is a better athlete than momo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
