Cuddling (Cu Alter X Reader)

You weren’t sure when this had happened.

It didn’t really make any sense when you thought about it. The other was still as hostile and prone to violence as he was before. He was still someone that you needed to make sure was close when you went into the different singularities and missions, knowing he would slaughter anything that he came across and make Ereshkigal or some hell’s errand boy sort the mess out.

Yet, he was shifting his body as you tried to read your book on the couch. His head was pressing to your thigh, those eyes remaining closed.

Yet, he was soon moving to sit up, pulling you into his arms and shifting so that you were pressed between the couch cushions and his body. Your book was squished, now unable to be read. Your body was warming up since the man was like a furnace.

The man made enough of a berth around him in terms of people trying to avoid him that no one seemed to note that you were trapped in his arms.

His face was pressed gently to the back of your neck.

What was there that you could do? Moving would ruin the magic of the moment. Staying still wasn’t the most comfortable thing either. The book was a hardcover, pressing into your chest a little as the man held you.

It really had to go.

Hopefully, no one would see.

You shifted, as slowly and as carefully as possible so as not to jostle the man holding you. You closed the book, promising to remember page 62.

It was a long shot, but your bookmark was on the table next to the couch on the side your feet were on. There was no way that you were getting to it.

Bending pages would earn you hell from others like Da Vinci and Caster Gilgamesh.

Slowly, carefully, you took aim.

You had one shot at this.

The book went up, tettering on the top of the cushion a moment before dropping off the other side.

A soft thunk was enough to let you know it was gone.

It also brought Cu Alter upright though.

“It’s just my book.”

The man stared down at you, yawning slightly after a split second.

“I ah… I didn’t want my book on the couch while we napped,” you explained.

Those red eyes were still staring.

Perhaps you’d read too much into the situation? Had he meant to have Medb on the couch? You’d seen him with Mini Cu around a few times. Maybe he had-

The man moved slowly. His tail uncurling a moment to drift gently through the air.

Before you could finish fretting, the arms that had been holding you were back. His tail was curling around your legs, trapping you under him in a more secure manner.

“Cu?”

His face pressed to your chest, hair fanning out in a mess of blue.

You were getting to see him calm.

Grinning, you held him closer.

Maybe, just maybe, your bond with him was going up.

Cushtar anon here! Long time no see! Enjoying the new content ToT And yeah I think Cu Alter x ishtar being more popular than Lancer Cu x Ishtar is bizarre.....Considering Cu Alter's more demonic like qualities would fit Ereshkigal's theme more....The fandom trend seems so mismatched. Lancer Cu is the child of light and Ishtar is the goddess of Heaven thus has a dominion attribute to him. Not to mention the obvious vessel connection.

Hello Cushtar anon!! How are you? Ar you enjoying the Babylonia anime? Ishtar and Eresh are such cuties ♥️ anyway, I might be thinking the artists preference for Ishtar with Cu Alter instead of Cu Lancer is because the fair resemblance Ishtar has with Queen Medb, like lore wise both of them were like "This one (1) man went against my will so he must perish" (you can ask @celticpyro for more details about Medb ;) ) and because of that, sexual tension ensues along with a kinda unhealthy relationship (imo please don't kill me 😅 I ship Medb with Scathach). Ishtar on one hand may be interested in people like Gilgamesh, Cu Alter, Iskandar or Ozymandias all of them with huge charisma and a golden rule but that's it. Ereshkigal on the other hand is way more reserved and insecure so people like Emiya, Cu Caster or Cu Alter who aren't that intense or demanding (or aren't interested in relationships lol) can be more her type or so (Although Cu Caster x Eresh is the most popular Rin x Cu ship second only to the fsn one). Also, just look at Ishar and Cu Lancer like even if they aren't together, those to can be great friends at least.

You are not alone my friend. Logically who is better to ship with the Rin faces besides Cu and Emiya? Both have history with the vessel and lingering memories with the personality fusion. Cu x Ishtar especially is great because he both gets to tease and spoil her while she is also (technically) in Dominion of his attribute. (Child of light x Goddess of Heaven) I've seen fanart of them together on here.

OMG THANK YOU ANON I really thought I was alone with the whole Rin Faces x all of the Cus ships!! We have a similar taste if not the same lol Ishtar and Lancer Cu has similar personalities, “lawful” alignments and lance boy still likes strong willed women. I can picture her hanging out with those two (Emiya and/or Cu) because she felt like it and being fuck best buddies (Her charisma went from EX to B but it still works!). For some reason Berserker Cu x Ishtar is also a thing (even though they have completely opposite alignments but I can’t deny they look pretty good together) just like Caster Cu x Ereshkigal .What do you think about them?

Well Caster Cu and Lancer Cu are like....98% the exact same person. One is just a bit more lax. Berserker Cu is a different guy altogether though. So Caster Cu x Ishtar is also great by default meanwhile I have no idea about Berserker Cu... Berserker Cu probably works better with Ereshkigal. She's a gentle soul but also the mistress of hell. Berserker Cu being her lover/hell hound. Works right? :D also that's SO CUTE. I LOVE THAT SKETCH. God they just work too well honestly.

They have so much chemistry!! sadly I thought Lancer Cu would say something about Ishtar being the “missy from back then” just like Emiya and it didn’t happen :’( but I’m pretty sure he’d do that. On a side note, you’re right about Cu Alter being more compatible with Eresh than Ishtar since the first one is more level headed and behaves the same way as him.

ngl tho even if Cu Alter is a different person compared to his other versions, he’d look pretty badass alongside Ishtar but their relationship is bound to be full of problems lol (wouldn’t be great if Ishtar ends up being just like Medb with all that cringey clinginess). So Lancer Cu or Caster Cu are best shots.
