1953 Siata 208S Spider
Siata is an acronym for Società Italiana Auto Trasformazione Accessori, the Turin-based firm founded in 1926 by Giorgio Ambrosini, and which ceased production in 1970.
Much like Abarth, Siata developed its business by manufacturing performance parts for Fiat, gaining greater exposure after World War II as motorsport came back to the fore in Europe and the Americas. As 750 cc-powered race cars grew in displacement, Siata-modified vehicles gained prominence and the attention of stateside racers like Briggs Cunningham and Ernie McAfee. The latter was a Los Angeles–based importer who drove one of the first Siata-enhanced examples in the 1953 Carrera Panamericana race.
Fiat, meanwhile, had developed a 2.0-liter V-8 engine for its luxury sports car, the Otto Vu. While only 49 examples of that model were constructed, there remained additional Fiat V-8 engines that were acquired by Siata to power its new 208S Spider, unveiled in 1952. Only 33 examples were bodied by Carrozzeria Rocca Motta, of Turin, from 1953 to 1955. The car was not only powerful for its day, but supremely beautiful.
Designed by Giovanni Michelotti, these perfectly proportioned roadsters defined the iconic look of the era’s rugged sports cars. Equally stunning was the 208 CS, a coupe version of which only 18 were made, 11 bodied by Balbo and seven by Stabilimenti Farina. Topped with twin Weber carburetors and tuned by Siata, Fiat’s 2.0-liter OHV alloy V-8 engine develops more than 125 hp at 6,000 rpm, which is good enough to give the car a top speed of nearly 125 mph.

"¡No Creerás Qué Autos Deportivos Compactos de los 80 Son los Mejores! ¡Haz Clic Ahora y Descúbrelo!" - ¡Hola a todos los entusiastas del automóvil! Hoy vamos a hablar de los compactos deportivos de los años 80. Esos autos que marcaron una generación, y definieron lo que significaba ser un auto "genial" durante esa década. Solo por mencionar algunos, tenemos al Volkswagen Golf GTI, Renault 5 GT Turbo, Ford Escort XR3i, entre otros. #AmorPorLosAutos 🚗 Los autos de los años 80 son a menudo recordados como los 'autos reales', tal vez porque se combinaban de manera elegante e intrincada la funcionalidad con una auténtica sensación deportiva de alta potencia. Pero no solo eran piezas de diseño impresionante, también estaban muy adelantados a su tiempo en términos de rendimiento y tecnología. Tómese el Volkswagen Golf GTI, por ejemplo, que era tanto chic urbano con sus líneas nítidas yel perfil bajo, como una bestia en carretera con su impresionante caballaje. Era verdad que era compacto, pero eso no le restaba un ápice de potencia. Incluso diría que esa potencia se sentía intensificada dada la proximidad del pavimento. O qué decir del Renault 5 GT Turbo, que desafió audazmente la línea que separa un coche deportivo de un coche de carreras. Al ser compacto, era maniobrable en una carrera cercana y sin embargo, podía rugir con los mejores. Los franceses ciertamente saben cómo impactar con la mecánica. Sin embargo, si estamos hablando de compactos deportivos, sería un crimen omitir los fantásticos y un tanto subestimados Ford Escort XR3i. Estos autos tenían un diseño más recatado, incluso diría que casi sereno, pero cuando pisabas el acelerador, te recompensaban con un rugido de motor que satisfacía incluso a los entusiastas más exigentes. Rally Club Valpantena 2023
Sono 162 gli equipaggi che prenderanno parte al il 5° Lessinia Rally Historic e il 21° Revival Rally Club Valpantena, le manifestazioni organizzate dal Rally Club Valpantena nell’anno dei primi quarant’anni del Club, previste per il 10 e 11 novembre. Le due gare si disputeranno per la prima volta insieme sia per questo importante anniversario che per il rinnovo del regolamento che ha portato il 21° Revival Rally Club Valpantena a disputarsi come gara di regolarità a media e non più di regolarità sport. il 5° Lessinia Rally Historic sarà un rally storico valido per il Trofeo Rally di Zona, per il Trofeo Rally ACI Vicenza, per il Trofeo Rally Veronesi e per la Ford Cup. La risposta dei concorrenti è stata unica per le due corse, che percorreranno un identico percorso, con 81 vetture per il rally storico e 81 per la regolarità a media Nel 5° Lessinia Rally Historic, che varrà anche per il Trofeo Banca Valsabbina, ci saranno Raffa e Paolo Scardoni su BMW M3 della Scaligera Rallye, vincitori già in due occasioni nel 2019 e 2020 e con Raffa che ha conquistato il triplete lo scorso anno, in coppia con Andrea Signorini, ma ci sono anche Bernardino Marsura, con Massimiliano Menin, su Porsche Carrera RS del Team Bassano, come Riccardo Bianco, che nel rally ha vinto nel 2021, con Matteo Valerio su Ford Sierra Cosworth della Palladio Historic. E prevista la partecipazione di Beniamino Lo Presti con Haianes Tania Bertasini su Porsche Carrera RS della MRC Sport, pilota impegnato nel Campionato Italiano Rally Auto Storiche dove quest’anno ha chiuso quarto nel 3° Raggruppamento, vinto nel 2022, mentre sono in considerazione anche Superti-Brunetti (Porsche 911 Carrera RS/Squadra Corse Angelo Caffi) e Patuzzo-Martini (Ford Sierra Cosworth/Team Bassano) che con l’iscrizione al Lessinia Rally Historic sono campioni della Ford Cup 2023, prima edizione, e si sono assicurati l’iscrizione al Rally del Benaco Storico, Rally della Valpolicella Historic e Lessinia Rally Historic 2024. La lista dei potenziali protagonisti del rally storico vede Giorgio Costenaro e Lucia Zambiasi saranno al via con la loro Ford Sierra Cosworth (Team Bassano), mentre Ivan Fioravanti con Lorenzo Setti sarà con la Ford Escort RS (Team Bassano) con la quale si è già tolto molte soddisfazioni al Rally Lana storico. Tra i piloti locali ci sono anche Tezza-Merzari (BMW M3/Pintarally Motorsport), Panato-Albieri (BMW M3/Pintarally Motorsport), Menegolli-Zambelli (Fiat 131 Abarth), Canteri-Valbusa (BMW M3/ASD Daytona Corse) mentre sarà gradito il ritorno di Riccardo Scandola su una BMW M3 con Alessandro Campedelli (Movisport). Nella regolarità a media 21° Revival Rally Club Valpantena, che sarà premiata con il Trofeo Bertani, una splendida magnum di Amarone, la classifica non sarà di velocità ma di precisione nel rispetto delle medie imposte. Il programma inizierà venerdì 10 con le verifiche sportive e tecniche alla Alberti Lamiere di Lugo di Grezzana dalle 13 alle 17 contornate dalla festa inaugurale aperta a tutti grazie alla disponibilità della Famiglia Alberti, mentre la parte competitiva prenderà il via, per la prima volta, dall’azienda valpantenate dove sarà allestito il primo Controllo Orario alle 19:30. Le vetture scenderanno a Grezzana per la cerimonia di partenza alle 20 in Piazza Ballini e quindi saliranno ad Alcenago per la PS1 in notturna in partenza alle 20:30, con la cena in Villa Arvedi e poi riordino notturno alle Cantine Bertani, sempre a Grezzana. Sabato 11 ci saranno tre prove da ripetere per due volte, Velo Veronese, che riprenderà dal percorso del Revival 2022 nel cuore della Lessinia, Valsquaranto, che sarà la più lunga dell’evento con oltre 14 chilometri mentre la Bosco Chiesanuova sarà la Lughezzano-Bosco in discesa. Il riordino di metà giornata sarà alla Migross Frac di Stallavena, il parco assistenza sulla SP6 all’altezza di Grezzana e l’arrivo in Piazza della Chiesa a Bosco Chiesanuova è prevista dalle 16 per rendere omaggio anche all’altra località legata agli eventi del Rally Club Valpantena. Me and my mate Dan came up with the names of Jazz's siblings together so in age order we have:
Jazz's twin sister: Soul, a famous musician from their area of cybertron First brother: Synth, a librarian Twin sisters: Rhythm & Blues, always causing some kind of mayhem together, frequent clubbers Youngest brother: Salsa, always job-hopping because nothing ever 'feels like the right vibe for me, y'know' Youngest sister: "Wheelie Pop" Poppy, had a passionate love for life, liked to do abstract sketching
And yes the musical theme is intentional because we thought it'd be really cool if it was a family trait

Porsche 356B Abarth Carrera GTL (20/21 units) Abarth may be known nowadays as the exclusive tuning division for Fiat vehicles, but way back when, Carlo Abarth threw his engineering knowledge at just about anything. In 1949, Porsche approached Abarth to produce a new lightweight body for the 356B Carrera as the brand itself was too focused on their F1 exploits to dedicate enough time. The result was one of the most beautiful classic Porsches ever made, but it wasn't beauty without substance. The 356B Abarth Carrera GTL competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, taking a class victory in 1960. Just 20 bodies were built, though some sources cite 21, and fitted to 356 chassis, designed by a former Bertone employee, with the resultant weight loss being 100 pounds over the standard Porsche version. — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/hEZKzGM

Porsche-Abarth Carrera GTL, 1960. Porsche commissioned Carlo Abarth to reinvigorate their GT program in the late 1950s, to build 20 lightweight bodies for the standard 356B chassis. Abarth turned to Franco Scaglione who had recently left Bertone, to design the cars and Carrozzeria Rocco Motto in Turin to build the new lightweight aluminium bodies.
