It's always interesting to hear about people's weird/unexpected "alternate life paths". Like, something that you could have done with your life, a job you almost took, a school you almost went to, etc - that was still actually realistic enough that it could have happened, but NOW it seems to not suit your current personality.
Like for example, I currently hate advertising (how manipulative it is, brands trying to be 'relatable', social media amplifying it to an obnoxious extreme, etc.) so much that even seeing a little ad before a youtube video is grating to even witness, but there was a point in time where I was genuinely seriously considering going into marketing/making commercials as a career lol. Or like, I have a relative who was very inclined to be a pastor when they were younger, even though today they're a super strong atheist, etc. etc.
#BECAUSE I knew I really liked filming and editing things and doing set design and costume design (from having done little bits of that#here and there in media classes and my own stuff - i used to be a lot more into making videos than I am now). BUT I was always thinking#that a movie is WAAY to big and long. even a short film. So I was trying to think of ways I could still like#have the fun of scouting locations to film and dressing up actors and etc. etc. without it having to be a Huge Million Dollar Production#on tv show or movie level. SO then I was thinking about like... just doing commercials. Or music videos. Like shorter things where I still#get the fun of the filming and everything but it's less of an intensive long term project.#So there is an alternate version of me (I suppose if i somehow did not end up having physical and mental health issues#as badly somehow.. or like.. randomly came into wealth and was able to pay my way through a nice college despite missing#days constantly being out because I'm sick or something lol) that works in some corporate advertising office coming up with commercials#and directing or filming them or doing the sets for them or something in that general vicinity.#I also was considering being a corporate psychologist. or whatever its called.. oh from google:#''Industrial and organizational (I/O) psychologists study and assess individual group and organization dynamics in the workplace''#I don't think I even knew what the job entailed. I was at the time just thinking like.. the type of person that comes into a business offic#and gives everyone personality assessments or does MBTI or big-5 testing crap for whatever reason that some businesses get that#done for people. Really i just wanted to be in a Corporate Big Office setting yet still do psychology. Because I used to be really fixated#on living in a big city. Like the ideas of everything being walkable. picking up a coffee in the morning. walking to my job in a Big#Skyscraper Building. people watching in a huge hotel lobby for lunch. flying frequently (I love airplanes and airports aesthetically).#living in an apartment with a giant window overlooking the city. etc. etc. BUT that was before i had really BEEN to a city. Then I actually#hung around a city a few times and went places and I was like... AUGh... The Sensory Overwhelm.. cars people lights loudness noise scary#everything happening all at once. etc. etc. (though even when I wanted to live in a city i NEVER strove for the Night Life. when i say I#enjoy city imagery I mean like... in the day time. Many people who like cities talk about The Night Life and post pictures of cities all#lit up at night and clubs and dancing and restaurants. none of that EVER appealed to me. perhaps a sign I am not a real city person. Like#I am NOT standing in a crowded bar full of loud people in the middle of the night lol.. get AWAY from me!!) but I do adore the#architecture of like bright white clean sterile modern spaces like huge airport lobbies or malls or etc. I think thats what reminded me of#city and what I liked about the idea of that life. Like I always LOVED the layout of schools and hospitals and trainstations and public#transport in general. Though even then I knew enough that I would not be a good architect/city planner. so I guess my adoration for those#spaces was merely to be channeled into LIVING there. but then I realized I didn't even really want to do that that much. I mean I still#definitely aim to live NEAR a city. like the little areas outside of it. I would never live in a rural place 4 hours from anything. I liter#ally just COULDNT since I need close access to hospitals sometimes lol. But I used to want to live in the CENTER of citites like high rise#condo. and now I'm like.... eh....... perhaps a smaller quieter walkable space nearby lol.. ANYWAY.. alternate me in my Business Suit eheh

#i feel borderline hungover for NO reason (definitely bc bad headache. giving me nausea .)#and ok so we have like three friends visiting#and my one friend just asked ‘so do people want to go into the city? or come out of the city’#why would ppl visiting the city. w no cars. staying in hotels DOWNTOWN. want to go out into the fucking SUBURBSSSSS#‘yeah we’re in a major city w no car u kno what we should do. drive out to SWAMPSCOTT’ fuck OFFFFF#no offense to my friends who almost all live in the suburbs.#but it is near impossible to get to them without cars. AND THERES NOTHING TO DO!#or well. there are things to do. but why would we go thru the work of coordinating all that transport#when there are a million more things to do in the city.

Very excited for next summer. Got some tickets to go see Ghost. Gonna be looking forward to that, so it'll help me get through the incoming seasonal depression/work frustrations.
Only thing is not looking forward to potentially having to be the one to drive into the city. We'll see what happens, lots of time until then.
Just gonna focus on the excitement and anticipation. 😌
#personal#just talking about stuff im gonna go do next year#as long as nothing catastrophic happens with work i can attend the concert without even having to adjust anything with my schedule#though it's far out enough and not near any holidays so even if i did have to take a day off work very little could stop me from going now#i WILL go have a good time and do something for once#was gonna go to a nearby convention mid october but didn't quite have the funds/transport and work was hellish so ended up not going#which is sad because some of my friends from out west flew out to attend and i haven't seen any of them in person for years#and i suppose will continue to not see them in person because of how things worked out#but yeah now i can't get a car as soon because i did just spend a good chunk of money on tickets#i am not going alone and the other 2 have said they'll pay me back and ive told them not to rush it we've got a year and i have the tickets#ill just have to save a little better over the next month or so#ideally get a car before it gets too cold and starts snowing and stuff#doesn't have to be anything fancy just something i can drive around town in and not cost a fortune to repair#still gotta figure out putting together comission stuff so i can earn a little more that way#maybe get the funds together a little quicker#anyhow ill stop rambling in the notes now#if you read this far in uhhh you are a star i guess lol

genuinely though i love and support the idea behind DIYing and thrifting a load of shit & i try to do that where i can but its absolutely unrealistic for so many ppl. especially DIY & yet ppl bring it up so cavalier.... like yeah of course its cheap when you already have all the tools, the talent, and the space to flip furniture in. but like if youre a complete amateur its genuinely scary and a complete gamble to sink a load of money, time, and resources into stuff... -_- and its like yeah. ofc its a skill that i would love to build, and i do think a base level of it is necessary. but its like... i can watch all the youtube videos i like and prep all i like. if i try to put panelling up by myself, being 5'2'' with no upper body strength, no space to work, and a physical awkwardness i can only describe as concerning, its like im gonna blow a hole in my pocket with my go-getter attitude twice as large when it comes to having to get someone to fix it too
#egg.txt#and yeah i know you dont have to start big but i do still think resources and sinking money into even small things is a fucking nightmare#too#i could try simple paint jobs and im sat here agonising over what i need to use on every type of material#lest i ruin the furniture & end up with a flaky mess for years that i cant fix#or just a fuck ugly colour#and its like realistically yeah fuck ups happen when youre learning any skill but#when its something like that and theres a significant monetary cost incurred im like ok. im out...#and thrifting too. i try my best to check whenever i go past places#but i dont have a car and the one furniture thrift place near me is open during work hours#and doesnt have anything for me#and i could go further out#and i could try to go to every place near me possible#but when you work fulltime and again. do not have transportation. and you live alone. 😭#i can do it slowly over time but i feel like the more im searching the more im just burning my time and energy

KPTS Playlists
Kim's Album || Chay's Album
So the concept behind this is that Kim releases a post-canon album and Porchay releases an album of his own in response. I love the idea of how the songs on each of these would affect the other person listening to them, as well as giving both characters the ability to use songs to communicate feelings that they can't express openly in person.
KimChay - Why else would I tutor you?
A big mixture of both KimChay albums + some extras that didnt fit either album but fit KimChay as a whole or inspired me while writing.
Additional Playlists and rambling under the cut 🖤
VegasPete Shoot Me || VegasPete Let it Out
I love both these VP moods but struggled with mixing them in a single playlist! The vibes were too all over the place - so now theres one for the emotional stuff and one for the self-destructive decisions bourne from hedgehog funerals and bisexual lighting
SO! Thoughts on playlists:
The concepts behind the KimChay playlists are my favourite and they're the ones I put the most thought into! - I started them back in july and I'm still adding to them now! They're not necessarily all about Kim and Chay's relationship per-se, there are a couple that I think really fit Kim's relationship with his brothers for example, or the way that Porchay feels living in the compound with his lack of autonomy. I've tried to keep a consistent sound/vibe throughout and match both the lyrics and the sound to the melancholy post canon situation!
My absolute favourite is Chay's album (lovingly referred to as the chaylist). Picturing the absloute breakdown Kim would have listening to some of these songs sang by Chay is so delicious to think about. Hopefully these would be the catalyst to a KimChay resolution!
There are a couple of other less developed/experimental playlists like for KinnBig, Tankhun (sad lol) and KimBig on my spotify profile! (as well as some other non KP playlists)
If you liked any of these, found a new favourite, or found them useful/helpful for art/writing/rotating the faves in your mind, feel free to share and to come yell at me about them here! DMs are open, anons are on! I'd love to hear your thoughts!!!
#KimChay#The Chaylist is out lads#there are somehow... 4 people following it... already..... which is like girl i have shared this nowhere..... how did u get here lol :')#kim kp#chay kp#playlists#if you guys make anything inspired by this I would love love LOVE it if you tagged me! not to credit! like just @ me in the replies!!#like no pressure to do so I would just love to see it!#I'm nosy and excitable and I want to *S E E*#also I tend to be incredibly picky with *vibes* + lyrics so out of not wanting to offend anyone I'm not going to take 'add this!' requests!#but also if there's a song that's perfect for the blorbos that isn't on the playlist - anon is on and my inbox is open! I love music recs!#also if you have just general ''think about this character + this song!'' thoughts i would LOVE that! hehe#if u have a character... that you want a song rec for........... i could do that lol#my head is full of nothing but little guys#I have thoughts about pretty much all of the characters + xyz song *constantly* haha#I dont have a 'happy' kimchay playlist but that's only bc the vibes were near identical to the PatPran playlist I already have titled ):)#also if you spot the playlists where i went through taylor swifts entire discography and worked out every song where she was in a car#and then every song where she uses public transport#then no you dont.#that would be. unhinged...... 👀#I think my next one will be a Tankhun happy playlist which would refine the sadder Tankhun playlist a bit better#it's a similar problem to VegasPete. The dichotomy of my favourite boy knows no bounds!#ANYWAY#Send tweet or whatever#kpts

i had the day off so i spent like five hours doing budgeting. jesus fuck why is everything so expensive
#i'd need to make over double of what i'm making now to be able to live on my own#either a.) without a car + with a roommate somewhere near the city#which means i'd have to learn to use the public transport here. i've looked into it and none of the bus lines go beyond a very limited part#of the metro area so i'd need to find work somewhere within there.#or b.) with a car + renting on my own somewhere further out. the commute would be ass and the car maintenance even assier#thing is i really‚ really need to figure this out because i NEED to get out of this house for good#after i graduate i cannot land back in here.#there's this really cute girl i met at the club last month and we've been talking a lot and i'd love to be with her and i know she would to#but she's trans and my parents would legit throw me out of the house if they found out#and she doesn't deserve to be hidden‚ y'know? i want to be able to tell everyone i know and care about about us#but i just can't do that right now. and i hate the thought of missing out on relationships and stifling myself like this out of fear#i talk a big game sometimes but i'm TERRIFIED of the people and the things i've noticed i'm attracted and drawn to#because i know what my parents say about 'those' people. i've heard every mean-spirited‚ downright disgusted thing they've said#and for all the smiles and the hugs my family throws my way i know what they are. i've seen the treatment they give queer family members.#i have an uncle who didn't speak to his daughter for almost a decade when she came out as a lesbian#it was only a couple years ago that they started to reconnect and she can't even bring her partner to family gatherings because it makes#people 'uncomfortable'#i'm sorry i'm rambling at this point but i just wish things would get a little easier. instead i feel all this pressure and everything#getting harder#nothing left to do except put on my big boy pants i guess#sansgwilie

seeing people on twitter say they don’t want harry to tour stadiums in the US because of traffic is so funny to me like it took me nearly three hours to leave the slane car park and i walked the streets of bologna alone at 4am post reggio and am fully traumatised by it but seeing harry in a stadium (or big ass field in those two cases) is absolutely life changing. the pure energy and charisma is insane
#also I’m still amazed by the whole how car centric the US is#the post mcg eras show discussion where Americans are just asking where the parking is is wild to me#why drive when there’s ample public transport options#plus i’d literally never wanna drive near the g or anywhere near melb cbd in the first place omg

As much as I'll happily play devils advocate for e-scooters, jesus it is terrifying seeing a 12 year old child barrel down a footpath on one of those things, anyways you should throw bricks through your local government members windows until they install a safe bike network around every school and local amenity
#lmao shut up haz#don't get me wrong. e-scooter companies are the fucking devil#but at this point transport options for anyone without a car in the suburbs are too grim#I rode to school in primary school because I got insanely lucky. Lived near a nature trail that went right to my school#the transport options for kids in suburbs are basically nothing if you cant walk. and walking continues to suck in so many places#like it's not even hard. just build footpaths wider and setback from the fenceline so cars reversing out can see people.#Anyways twitter still blows balls because I can't casually threaten violence against government officials on there. cringe platform

old man was on the bus for the first time today for a trip to the pet store to get a grooming muzzle. 10/10 very good boy, was very nervous at first but ended up settling down and watching people get on and off the bus.
Now onto getting him comfortable with the muzzle so I can trim his damn claws
#Dog#goat noises#For context hes 12 and really dislikes car rides#So i wasn't expecting him to do THIS well#The bus stops at a stadium with a grass patch and I took him there to decompress and do his business#And when I went back to the bus he just jumped into the open bavk door when we walked past lmao#Ive been itching to take him on short trips to different locations near me to just walk around and get new sights abd smells#So I'm super glad he's so good with public transport cause this means he's going to come with me on some more trips :)

i'm thinking of moving to taiwan after college, how has it been treating you? a lot of people i know who did move to taiwan only talk about how hard the language is (even if they're taiwanese ) but i wanna now how like, your everyday life is!
oooo, that sounds so exciting, wherever you end up i hope you enjoy it! But yea, so I live just outside of Taipei in New Taipei but New Taipei is actually huge and there are many parts of New taipei that are like super far from Taipei proper and are pretty hard to live in without a having a scooter or car. I'm assuming you've been to taiwan before if you think you want to move there but ya never know! I tbh knew very little abt taiwan before coming here but yea. Just giving you an idea of where I live and that i can't speak for all of Taiwan, just my area thats just outside of taipei but still served by their metro system (which is honestly super dope, shout out to the MRT).
So like I overall love living here sm, I'd love to live here someday for work or smth and not just studying abroad. The transportation is amazing, the nature is. so lovely. Like tbh no matter where I am in the city I am no more than 10 km away from the river or the mountains and everything is so green and nice. However in order to be so green all the time, taipei is very rainy and very humid. Legit my hair was such a nightmare when i got here, if you are from a dry climate, you will notice so many changes. Like my skin is rlly nice bc of the moisture, but my hair was unmanageable so i chopped it off. But I also have was less allergies now. If youre originally from a humid climate it should be nbd.
My daily life is honestly pretty easy. I live in a dorm so I didn't have to deal with things like speaking to a landlord or finding someone who would rent to me, or having to deal with utility bills, or dealing with the semi confusing garbage disposal system. But, I do know ppl that did have to do these things and speak way less chinese than I do and were just fine. Honestly, ppl say that you can live in the Taipei area without speaking chinese and be just fine bc most ppl speak english. Tbh idk how anyone does that, I rarely speak to anyone in english here but I think thats bc I always try speaking chinese first. Most people can speak a decent amount but unless you speak to them in english first theyll speak in chinese. I feel like most things you can learn just by living your daily life and learning high frequency words and when all else fails use google translate. But honestly, my life is very easy and pleasant. If I'm hungry I can easily go to a food stall or grocery store or convenience store near where I live. If I really don't want to leave the house, I can order food with a reasonable delivery fee (well reasonable to me, ik food prices are going up here).
Personally, I find that making friends here is pretty hard, but I'm not a very social person and find it hard to start conversations with ppl idk, and most taiwanese people don't talk to you if you don't talk to them, so this might be hard. But I feel like everyone is very friendly for the most part its just kinda finding the chances to make friends is rare if you aren't working or going to classes or know someone here already.
But overall yea no taiwan is a great place to live, there's a lot of things I'm gonna miss abt taiwan when i go home but somethings in my home country are hard to find here. Some of the traditional taiwanese food isn't bad, but not like my cup of tea, but you can find a lot here. It's just that most like foreign cuisine is more expensive or geared towards the locals so its not very authentic. I def miss hispanic food and some foods are hard to recreate here bc of lack of ingredients but taiwanese food is also very nice. Some dishes may look boring but are actually very good. I hope you like living in taiwan if you end up living here!
#this got rlly long so imma do a tldr of the things abt taiwan i'm gonna miss when i get home#1. the nature. the riverside parks... dude.... riding a bike by the river is like a hundred percent must do pasttime... i'm gonna miss it#so bad.#2. the beverages... are so good and so cheap... to get a decent fruit tea in the US is like 5 dollars. here it is 2 dollars and tastes#better.... like... omg... gonnamiss the beverages#3. convenience stores... esp the onigiri. and the hot tea... you cant get decent hot tea anywhere in the us!! you can't#its always iced and sugary or if it is hot its overseeped and disgusting#4. food stands. the convenience of it all. also like. no one sells diguaqiu near me in the us... imma miss those. and the#scallion pancake stall near my house. and oa tsian/hezi jian#5. the transportation... i hate car dominated communites... everything needs to be walkable...#asks#anon
