Everyone be shipping Leo with Karai, Usagi, Casey and even Tigerclaw, but I personally ship him with Ryan since he loves him so much and probably writes “Captain Ryan X Reader” fanfics in his room.

I'd like to think there's an in universe spirk equivilant for space heroes (according to the wiki, that would be between Captain Ryan and Dr Mindstrong) and at some point in his lifetime, Leo was minding his own business being really autistic about the silly sci fi show and then stumbled upon gay men from the silly sci fi show and his brain neurons got rearranged
#all this 'leo reads captain ryan x reader' fics#but what about leo going 'i can't decide if i want him to step on me or his colleague'#yknow the true 2010s fandom girly experience#leonardo hamato#tmnt#teenage mutant ninja turtles#tmnt 2012

My headcanon is that Leo can’t draw if his life depended on it (irony that’s he’s named after the great Da Vinci but can’t draw lol)
However, he is a talented writer! He writes numerous Spaceheroes fanfics
forever upset because they didn't show us any art by leo
#most of them are Captain Ryan x Reader but still-#fabtrash headcanons#tmnt headcanons#tmnt 2012#tmnt leonardo#tmnt raphael#tmnt donatello#tmnt michelangelo

10 Leonardo Headcanons
He has a problem when it comes to candy and other sweets. In short it’s a sugar addiction. If he eats the littlest bit of sugar, Leo becomes obsessed and will got on a sugar high. His brothers always have to hide candy from him when there’s some in the lair because it has gotten bad over the years. His main obsession is with chocolate.
He has a secret journal (his brothers call it his diary) where he writes his inner thoughts and feelings. He keeps it in his room under his mattress. One day, Mikey was nosey curious and wanted to look through Leo’s journal (totally not to learn dirty secrets he could use for new prank ideas) but he discovered that everything is written in Japanese. It’s Leo little way to truly make sure no one can read his personal stuff.
He has a passion and love for gardening. When living at the farmhouse, Leo passed the time by growing herbs and flowers in the O'Neil's mini garden in their backyard. His favorite flower is the lotus blossom.
Despite being named after the great Leonardo Da Vinci, Leo himself is a terrible artist and cannot draw even if his life depended on it.
Though he's a terrible artist, he makes up for it in his writing. He is a talented writer. He enjoys writing and reading poems, haikus, etc.
He also writes Spaceheroes fanfiction. Specifically Captain Ryan x Reader fanfiction, and they are very popular within the fandom.
His favorite form of humor/comedy is dad jokes and bad puns.
He has a secret passion and talent in ballet. He secretly practices in the dojo late at night, it helps him perfect is balance and flexibility.
He's a closeted bisexual. His Bi awakening was Captain Ryan and even had a crush on Casey for a short time (mostly during season 3). The only person who was able to figure out/tell that Leo is bi was Shini, cause she has an excellent gaydar.
However, because Leo’s first shot at romance failed miserably and was even traumatic for him (first woman he ever loved, turned out to be his sister) Leo now has a hard time opening his heart at any opportunity for romance. In his adult life he’ll eventually swear off dating and basically take a vow of celibacy, putting all of his time and focus on running and leading the Hamato Clan instead of socializing and dating.

Ah hello! I've been reading your works and they are very enjoyable and entertaining to read! since requests are open will you be able to do a 2012!Leo x male!reader where Leo has feelings for his human friend but is confused by his own feelings cause what he believes is admiration i.e. how he feels about captain Ryan 🤣 but no, our boy will be in for a real surprise. thank you!
Yesssss!!! Anon I love this sm!! 💕
ADMIRATION? NO, LOVE.
♡~~♡~~♡~~♡~~♡
Summary: Leonardo finally realizes his feeling for aren't admiration, but love. Romantic love.
Warnings:
Requested: Yep!!
Male Reader!
Raph's version: Donnie's version: Mikey's version:
............................................
Leo smiled as he watched you interact with Mikey.
You got along so well with his brothers and he admired that about you. Leo admired alot about you.
Your intelligance, your bravery, your kind and caring nature. Leo looked up to you, you were his friend and a valued member of their team. His feeling towards you were obviously admiration.
So then why does everyone look at him as if they know something he doesn't?
He's wondered that for a while. Leo wasn't blind, he's seen the glances his brothers share whenever he interacts with you. He's notices the look in Master Splinter's eye.
Why would they act that way if it was only admiration?
But, what else could it be?
Leo loved to spend time with you, he cared about you and you made him feel happy and appreciated. Loved. But that's because you're his friend obviously.
It couldn't be anything else.
Right?
No, now that he's thinking about it, his feelings aren't admiration...
They're love.
He's in love with you.
He's in love with you!
It makes sense.
That's why he try's to spend as much time with you as possible, that's why you make hin so happy. Why he loves your smile, and your laugh. Why he loves to listen to you talk, why he activly seeks you out.
It isn't admiration. It's love.
Leonardo loves you.
And now that he knows that, his world seemed brighter.
His smile widened, as he watched you approach him. Now that he knew his feelings it was a matter of time before he told you as well.
"You ok, Leo?" You asked, a small smirk adorning your handsome features.
"Yeah," he said, nodding, "Yeah, I'm just fine."
And he was. Leo was just fine with his realization.
He loved you.
And he couldn't be happier about it.
.........................................
Here you go Anon! I'm currently trying to catch up on my asks and drafts, so content will be flowing nicely for a while!💕

Pspspsp Mod give random Leo hcs [Angst, Fluff, randomness] I feel like thinking about the blue boy
Okay!! This is specifically 2012 Leo, cause my blog is for the 2012 series ;D
Leo used to have a beautiful singing voice, but after his fight with Shredder in the S2 finale that resulted in damaging his throat, Leo could no longer sing. If he tries to, it hurts.
He's a closeted bisexual. His first male crush was Captain Ryan and he's in constant denial that he's into both boys and girls.
Leo really enjoys gardening, but being underground in the sewers he never has a chance to really grow anything due to lack of sunlight and clean water. He does have an admiration for flowers, his favorite is the lotus blossom.
He's the only brother who is fluent in speaking Japanese and he can also read lips.
Despite being named after the great artist Leonardo Da Vinci, Leo is a terrible artist and can't draw if his life depended on it.
Leo writes Spaceheroes fanfics (Character X Readers, self inserts, etc.) and they are really popular in the fandom.
Leo actually really enjoys literature and writing. His favorite book is the Three Musketeers and he keeps a personal journal (his brothers call it his diary) where he writes his personal thoughts and secrets he doesn't feel comfortable telling his family and friends. One time Mikey was being a snoop and decided to look through his diary journal to see if he can come up with any new prank ideas, but found out that Leo writes in Japanese so his brothers can't read it.

First Time - Leo x Reader (fem!reader)
request? yes/no
a/n: I need some holy water after writing this and y’all are gonna need some too O_O
warnings: NSFW, aka smut. For the case of this being smut, both the reader and Leo will be 18 years old in this imagine. Also swearing.
You and Leo had been dating for about a year at this point. Since you had been his first girlfriend and he had no prior experience whatsoever, the two of you wanted to take things slowly. It was not helping with how thick the sexual tension had gotten in the past few months, though.
You shared your first kiss about two months after dating, and started making out about six months into the relationship. It wasn’t until when the two of you had gotten the hang of making out and creating your own rhythm, when your makeout sessions began getting heated. You’d be in his bedroom watching Space Heroes, of course, when you’d cuddle close and feel his hot breath against your skin. Or maybe your leg would be too close to his crotch, causing his dick to stand at the sudden stimulation. You’d begin to slowly makeout, which would progress into grinding against each other and dry humping.
The more you two did this, the more and more confident he got. He’d begin grabbing your ass, pushing your clothed pussy against his dick. He’d grab at your breasts, kissing the exposed valleys of skin that weren’t concealed by your bra. You’d gently palm him, not enough to make him finish though. He’d do the same, especially when you wore thin leggings, making it easy for him to tease you through the thin fabric.
It was this day in particular that things were different.
Splinter had grounded the turtles, which meant they couldn’t leave for patrol. Courtesy of your kindness, you came over and decided to keep Leo company.
As you entered the lair, you were met with Splinter standing in the main living area, to keep an eye on the guys. He sent you a cautious look
“Don’t worry, Master Splinter,” you assured their father, “I’m just here to keep them some company, if that’s alright; I heard about their grounding.”
He smiled slightly. “My sons are both a blessing and a curse at times, Y/n. They do not entirely understand how much their lives are at stake; I only mean to protect them.”
“Of course, Sensai,” you nodded. “Trust me, Leo already received my wrath for that last night on the phone.”
He chuckled. “I trust that he did,” he nodded his head toward Leo’s bedroom door. “Leonardo just finished his meditation for the morning.”
You nodded, thanking him, before knocking on his bedroom door. Leo opened it, a grin spreading across his lips at the sight of you.
“I was just about to put on an episode of Space Heroes,” he admitted, shutting the door behind you.
You pecked his cheek as the two of you got situated, the television show beginning. You weren’t sure if it was the air in the bedroom that was different or what, but something certainly felt unique this afternoon. You weren’t exactly sure what it was, and you could tell that Leo felt it too; his attention had drifted from the infamous Captain Ryan to one of his walls. You fought the urge to chew on your nails as you wondered what was up. Instead, you decided to think nothing of it and cuddle into your boyfriend’s chest.
Startled by the sudden physical attention, he nearly jumped before wrapping an arm around you. You brought one of your knees up to his thigh, draping yourself over him as your arm slung across his plastron and your head nuzzled into the crook of his neck. You could feel his steady breathing as he kept his arm draped over you, holding you close to him whilst his cheek leant against your hair. Hearing the shitty laser beam noises sound from the television as Captain Ryan and the other space heroes disintegrated aliens had somehow began to lull you to sleep, your boyfriend’s heartbeat and slow breathing having the same effect.
Before you could drift off though, you felt Leo’s arm loosen slowly as his hand went to your spine, gently going lower until he cupped your ass. His hand grazed up and down smoothly, squeezing. You couldn’t help the moan that escaped your lips at the feeling. You didn’t have to look up to see that he was smirking. With your one leg hiked up nearly to his crotch, he pulled it up further to his stomach before moving his hand back down to your ass, his fingers going to your exposed clothed pussy between your thighs. You squeaked as you felt his thick fingers gently rub back and forth on the sensitive area. You pushed yourself against his fingers, grinding against his thick digits through the thin fabric of your leggings. You gripped his plastron, biting back moans.
Suddenly, he moved his hand back up to your ass before using his other one to move your face to meet his own. You crashed your lips against each other’s, lips and tongues blissfully dancing with one another as he eventually rolled himself over you. You immediately opened your legs to him, causing him to roll his hips into yours. You moaned against his lips as he continued to grind his cock against your clothed pussy, one hand moving up your hoodie to explore your breasts. To his surprise, you hadn’t been wearing a bra, causing him to groan against your lips as his hand cupped your breast, fingers clasping around your pebbled nipple.
This caused you to gasp at the sudden contact with your sensitive skin. He quickly pulled his lips from yours, grabbing his television remote and turning the volume up louder to cover the noises the two of you had been making. He tossed the remote before returning his attention back to you.
“D-do you wanna take this off?” he asked, his voice cracking and breathy as he motioned to your hoodie.
You nodded, slipping it off and over your head with his help. His pupils dilated at the sight of your bare breasts, nearly drooling as he attached his lips onto a nipple. Your jaw went slack as his tongue lapped at the bud, his teeth ever so gently nibbling at the pebble before doing the same to the other. Your hands went to play with the ends of his mask, twirling the fabric around your fingers as his mouth placed open-mouthed kisses over your stomach, pausing at your leggings. He looked up at you, his innocent big blue’s staring into your own e/c orbs. You didn’t have to communicate; you knew what he was asking. You nodded, bucking your hips up as he pulled your leggings down.
“T-these too, please,” you breathed, pulling at your panties.
He nearly drooled at this, doing as you commanded. He pulled the fabrics off of your ankles, tossing them to the floor. There you lay, completely bare and naked for him. His hands rested on your thighs, pushing them open, his eyes entranced by your pussy. Your juices were nearly leaking onto the insides of your thighs, so wet for him. He couldn’t believe it; all of this was for him, you were so turned on by him no matter what he was. He pressed kisses to the insides of your thighs, then to the top of your mound, working his way to press kisses to each lip of your pussy.
Then, without warning, he flattened his tongue as he licked one strip up your cunt. You nearly screamed at the feeling, something so foreign, yet so fucking good. His tongue switched from swirling and sucking on the sensitive bead of your clit and swirling around your entrance. He drew wondrous shapes with his tongue, focusing on every movement he could muster with his tongue to make you feel good. And once he found a rhythm, he noticed your legs begin to shake and nearly close in on his head.
As your nerves built up, you realized that you didn’t want to cum on his tongue for the first time–you wanted to cum with him inside you.
“S-stop,” you panted.
He immediately pulled his head away from your sex, concern flooding his eyes.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, his lips glistening with your juices. You nearly moaned at the sight.
His invisible eyebrows knitted together, fearing that he’d hurt you or made you uncomfortable. You noticed this, putting a hand on his shoulder.
“I almost finished,” you admitted with a blush, “I don’t wanna cum until you’re inside me.”
His jaw nearly dropped at your confession. He was going to have sex tonight.
“Baby, a-are you sure?” he asked, his eyebrows raised.
You nodded, “Leo, I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life.”
He let out a tiny whine as he pulled you in for a needy kiss, your lips sloppily moving together as his body moved back onto yours, propping himself onto one elbow as his other hand positioned himself at your entrance.
He looked up at you one last time, as if he was giving you your last chance to back out of this. You gave him a small nod of consent before he slowly pushed himself into you. He let out a moan as your tight walls hugged his dick. Once his entire length had been sheathed within you, he allowed you to adjust to his length.
“You okay?” he asked softly, nosing at your cheek before giving it a gentle kiss.
You winced, nodding. You felt so full, as if he was meant to be there. He filled you up completely, he fit perfectly inside of you like a puzzle piece.
“Start moving,” you grunted, grasping onto his shell as he slowly thrusted.
His thrusts were slow, though you could feel him twitching inside of you.
“I-I don’t k-know how long,” he panted, “don’t know how long I can l-last,” he admitted.
“It’s okay,” you reassured, your voice weak and pained as his thrusts added more and more pressure to your core. “You can cum, Leo.”
His head rested in the crook of your neck as he thrusted harshly, hips stilling as you felt him spurt inside of you. His body fell weak before his lips pressed gentle kisses against your neck.
“Maybe next time, I–” you started.
“No, I’m not done yet,” your blue masked boyfriend interrupted.
He pulled out of you carefully, before rolling you on top of him.
“Remember when,” he began, your lips colliding with each other’s, “you told me about that dream that you had?”
You knew exactly what he was talking about. Just a week ago before a grinding sesh, you told him about a wet dream that you’d had, grinding your pussy against his shaft until he came onto his plastron.
“Mhm,” you hummed against his lips.
He pulled away. “What if we tried that for a little?”
You nodded, pupils dilated as you stared down at his already hard again cock. You positioned your hips over his shaft before gliding your wet pussy against it. Your jaw fell at the feeling, holding onto his shoulders for support as you glided your cunt back and forth. He moved his hands to grab your bare ass as you straddled him, helping your movements. As you felt yourself getting closer to the edge, he grabbed your hips, stopping you. Before you could say anything, he pulled you up enough for him to reenter you. You gasped, the familiar pain coming back as he pushed the rest of his length inside of you. Though after his first few slow thrusts, the pain slowly began to melt into pleasure.
You moved your lips against his, breasts flush against his chest, letting him know that it had begun to feel good for you.
“Faster,” you whined against his lips.
He grabbed your ass, thrusting faster and deeper. Your lips gaped against his, foreheads resting against one another’s as your climax came near once again.
“Leo, I’m–” you panted, before he thrusted even faster, sending you over the edge.
As your walls clenched around him, he found himself cumming again, spurting inside of you as you rode out your high. Both of you a breathing mess, he pulled out of you as you fell weak onto him, nuzzling into him once you gained enough strength.
He moved your face to face his, peppering you with kisses. You blushed, butterflies in your stomach as his lips finally landed on yours.
“I love you,” you whispered, forehead against his.
“I love you,” he stated, giving you another gentle kiss, “always.”

Not to brag, but I know you so well. Like— I really know you THAT well.
Rachel itu suka banget dengerin lagu-lagunya Maroon5, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars. Tapi, dia paling suka sama Olivia Rodrigo dan Troye Sivan. She's OBSESSED with Troye Sivan. Top 3 favorite songs nya Rachel itu Vienna by Billy Joel, She Will be Loved by Maroon5, sama Heaven by Bryan Adams (satu lagi, Eternal Flame versinya Shane Filan).
Suka banget nonton. Hampir semua genre, kecuali thriller yang banyak darah-darahnya, apalagi kalo sampe ada kecoak. Her top 5 favorite movies are The Shawshank Redemption, Inception (padahal thriller), Love Rosie, About Time, dan The Prestige. Dan sutradara kesukaannya itu Christopher Nolan. Kalo ngobrol sama Rachel, trus gak sengaja mention Christopher Nolan, jangan harap cepet selesai ngobrolnya wkwkwk. Oh iya, Rachel juga suka franchise Harry Potter dan Marvel, terutama MCU. Tapi dia suka X-Men juga.
WKWKWKWK GADENG. Karena menurut dia, Captain America really thinks that he's a hero (kan emg bener ye), kinda arrogant and selfish. Film MCU kesukaannya Rachel itu Thor Ragnarok, Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2, sama Ant Man and the Wasp. Intinya dia suka yg kocak kocak. Trus belakangan ini Rachel lagi sukaaaaa banget Moon Knight. Pokoknya 24/7 ngomongin Marc Spector.
Oiya, satu lagi, Pride and Prejudice.
Rachel juga suka nonton series, tapi dia paling enjoy nonton series sitcom yang seasonnya panjang2 itu wkwkwk. Dia suka banget F.r.i.e.n.d.s, How I Met Your Mother, sama Modern Family. Tapi Rachel paling sering ngomongin HIMYM, soalnya katanya memang dia sesuka itu sama HIMYM, apalagi salah satu karakternya yang namanya Barney (bukan yg nyanyi I love you, you love me).
List actors/actresses yang Rachel suka (yang pernah disebutin): Leonardo Dicaprio, Cillian Murphy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Dane DeHaan, Rachel McAdams, Lily Collins, Kit Connor, Xochitl Gomez, Robert Downey Jr., Louis Partridge, Olivia Rodrigo, Henry Golding, Keira Knightley, James McAvoy, Regé-Jean Page, Emily Blunt, Nicholas Hoult, Jude Law, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling, Barry Keoghan, The Late King Chadwick Boseman, dll.

The Best Movies on Netflix in India [February 2020]
In its efforts to win Oscars and please its 167 million members, Netflix has been pouring billions into movies recently, including projects from or featuring the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Martin Scorsese, and Michael Bay. One of those — The Irishman — racked up 10 nominations for the streaming service at the 2020 Oscars, though it failed to come away with a single prize. Netflix has also expanded its film efforts in India in the past year, announcing projects from the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar. For now though, the strength of its catalogue is still the acquisitions. With over 3,500 movies, Netflix offers more choices than any other platform in India. To pick the best movies on Netflix, we relied on Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, and IMDb ratings to create a shortlist. The last of them was preferred for Indian films given the shortfalls of reviews aggregators in that department. Additionally, we used our own editorial judgement to add or remove a few. This list will be updated once every few months if there are any worthy additions or if some movies are removed from the service, so bookmark this page and keep checking in. Here are the best films currently available on Netflix in India, sorted alphabetically. 12 Monkeys (1995) Inspired by the 1962 French short La Jetée, a prisoner (Bruce Willis) is sent back in time to learn more about the virus that wiped out nearly all of humanity. Terry Gilliam directs. 12 Years A Slave (2013) Duped into slavery on the account of a job, Steve McQueen's adaptation of a free New York black man's (Chiwetel Ejiofor) 19th-century memoir is an incredible true story, and an important watch. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) In Stanley Kubrick's highly-influential sci-fi film, humanity charts a course for Jupiter with the sentient computer HAL 9000, to understand the discovery of a black monolith affecting human evolution. It's less plot, and more a visual and aural experience.
3 Idiots (2009) In this satire of the Indian education system's social pressures, two friends recount their college days and how their third long-lost musketeer (Aamir Khan) inspired them to think creatively and independently in a heavily-conformist world. Co-written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani, who stands accused in the #MeToo movement. 50/50 (2011) Inspired by a true story, a 27-year-old radio journalist (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is diagnosed with spinal cancer and learns the value of friendship and love as he battles the rare disease. Aamir (2008) Adapted from the 2006 Filipino film Cavite, a young Muslim NRI doctor (Rajeev Khandelwal) returning from the UK to India is forced to comply with terrorists' demands to carry out a bombing in Mumbai after they threaten his family. American History X (1998) In a film that's more relevant today than when it was made, a neo-Nazi white supremacist (Edward Norton), who served three years in prison for voluntary manslaughter, tries to prevent his younger brother from going down the same path. American Hustle (2013) In the late 1970s, two con artists (Christian Bale and Amy Adams) are forced to work for an FBI agent (Bradley Cooper) and set up a sting operation that plans to bring down several corrupt politicians and members of the Mafia. Jennifer Lawrence, Jeremy Renner star alongside. Andaz Apna Apna (1994) Two slackers (Aamir Khan and Salman Khan) who belong to middle-class families vie for the affections of an heiress, and inadvertently become her protectors from a local gangster in Rajkumar Santoshi's cult comedy favourite. Andhadhun (2018) Inspired by the French short film L'Accordeur, this black comedy thriller is the story of a piano player (Ayushman Khurrana) who pretends to be visually-impaired and is caught in a web of twists and lies after he walks into a murder scene. Tabu, Radhika Apte star alongside. Apollo 13 (1995) Ron Howard dramatises the aborted Apollo 13 mission that put the astronauts in jeopardy after an on-board explosion ate up all the oxygen and forced NASA to abort and get the men home safely. Argo (2012) Ben Affleck directs and stars in this film about a CIA agent posing as a Hollywood producer scouting for location in Iran, in order to rescue six Americans during the US hostage crisis of 1979. Article 15 (2019) Ayushmann Khurrana plays a cop in this exploration of casteism, religious discrimination, and the current socio-political situation in India, which tracks a missing persons' case involving three teenage girls of a small village. A hard-hitting, well-made movie, though ironically, it was criticised for being casteist itself, and providing an outsider's perspective. The Avengers (2012) Earth's mightiest heroes — including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and the Hulk — come together in this groundbreaking Marvel team-up from writer-director Joss Whedon to stop Thor's adopted brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and his alien army from subjugating mankind.
The Aviator (2004) With Leonardo DiCaprio as Howard Hughes and Cate Blanchett as Katharine Hepburn, Martin Scorsese dives into the life of the aviation pioneer and film producer, who grapples with severe OCD while his fame grows. Awakenings (1990) Robin Williams and Robert De Niro lead the cast of this drama based on a 1973 memoir of the same name, about a doctor (Williams) who discovers the beneficial effects of a drug on catatonic patients, thereby gifting them a new lease on life. Barfi! (2012) Set in the 1970s amidst the hills of Darjeeling, writer-director Anurag Basu tells the tale of three people (Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Ileana D'Cruz) as they learn to love while battling the notions held by society. Beasts of No Nation (2015) With civil war raging across a fictional African nation, this Netflix Original focuses on a young boy who's trained as a child soldier by a fierce warlord (Idris Elba), and the effects it has on him. Before Sunrise (1995) In the first chapter of Richard Linklater's long-drawn-out trilogy, two idealistic twentysomethings, an American man (Ethan Hawke) and a French woman (Julie Delpy), spend the night together walking around in the Austrian capital of Vienna. The Big Lebowski (1998) A guy known as The Dude (Jeff Bridges) seeks payback for his ruined carpet after he's mistaken for a millionaire with the same name in this crime comedy from the Coen brothers. Less about the plot and more about a way of living. The Big Short (2015) Starring Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt, a look at Wall Street's penchant for self-profit in a vicious loop that caused the 2007–08 global financial meltdown. Birdman (2014) Alejandro G. Iñárritu won three Oscars including Best Picture for this tale of a washed-up superhero actor (Michael Keaton) who struggles to revive his career with a Broadway play. Known for appearing as if it was shot in a single take, it also starred Edward Norton, Zach Galifianakis, and Emma Stone. Blade Runner (1982) One of the most influential cyberpunk films ever made is about a burnt-out cop (Harrison Ford) who reluctantly agrees to hunt down a group of fugitive “replicants”, synthetic humans with a limited life-span who aren't allowed to live on Earth. Blue Valentine (2010) Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams lead this drama that shifts between time periods to depict a couple's courtship and how their marriage fell apart. Das Boot (1981) One of the most authentic war movies ever made chronicles the life of a German submarine crew during World War II, as they go through long stretches of boredom and periods of intense conflict, while trying to maintain morale in a capsule 10 feet by 150 feet hundreds of metres under the surface. The Bourne trilogy (2002-07) Technically not a trilogy, but the first three chapters — Identity, Supremacy, and Ultimatum — starring Matt Damon in the lead as the titular CIA assassin suffering from amnesia were so good that they changed the longest-running spy franchise of all-time: James Bond.
The Breadwinner (2017) This animated film follows a 11-year-old girl living under Taliban rule in Afghanistan, who disguises herself as a boy to provide for her family after the father is taken away without reason. Uses wonderfully-drawn vignettes to stress on the importance of storytelling. Bulbul Can Sing (2019) Three teenagers battle patriarchy and the moral police as they explore their sexual identities in Rima Das's National Award-winning drama — and pay for it dearly. Das writes, directs, shoots, edits, and handles costumes. C/o Kancharapalem (2018) Set in the eponymous Andhra Pradesh town, this Telugu film spans four love stories across religion, caste, and age — from a schoolboy to a middle-aged unmarried man. A debut for writer-director Venkatesh Maha, featuing a cast mostly made up of non-professional actors. Capernaum (2018) In the award-winning, highest-grossing Arabic film of all time, a 12-year-old from the slums of Beirut recounts his life leading up to a five-year sentence he's handed for stabbing someone, and in turn, his decision to sue his parents for child neglect. Captain Phillips (2013) The true story of a Somali pirate hijacking of a US cargo ship and its captain (Tom Hanks) being taken hostage, which spawns a rescue effort from the US Navy. The Bourne Ultimatum's Paul Greengrass directs. Cast Away (2000) After his plane crash-lands in the Pacific, a FedEx employee (Tom Hanks) wakes up on a deserted island and must use everything at his disposal and transform himself physically to survive living alone. Castle in the Sky (1986) In the first film officially under the Studio Ghibli banner, a young boy and a girl protect a magic crystal from pirates and military agents, while on the search for a legendary floating castle. Hayao Miyazaki writes and directs. Chupke Chupke (1975) Hrishikesh Mukherjee's remake of the Bengali film Chhadmabeshi, in which a newly-wedded husband (Dharmendra) decides to play pranks on his wife's (Sharmila Tagore) supposedly smart brother-in-law. Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan also star. A Clockwork Orange (1971) Set in a near-future dystopian Britain, writer-director Stanley Kubrick adapts Anthony Burgess' novel of the same name, commenting on juvenile delinquency through the eyes of a small gang leader who enjoys "a bit of the old ultra-violence". Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) Steven Spielberg's slow-paced sci-fi pic — which spent several years in development, being rewritten over and over — is about an everyday blue-collar guy (Richard Dreyfuss) whose humdrum life turns upside down after an encounter with an unidentified flying object (UFO).
Cold War (2018) Jumping either side of the Iron Curtain through the late 1940s to the 1960s, Oscar-winner Paweł Pawlikowski depicts the story of two star-crossed lovers, as they deal with Stalinism, rejection, jealousy, change, time — and their own temperaments. Company (2002) Inspired the real-life relationship between Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Rajan, director Ram Gopal Varma offers a look at how a henchman (Vivek Oberoi) climbs up the mobster ladder and befriends the boss (Ajay Devgn), before they fall out. Dallas Buyers Club (2013) Refusing to accept a death sentence from his doctor after being diagnosed with AIDS in the 1980s, the true story of an electrician and hustler (Matthew McConaughey) who smuggles banned medications from abroad. Dangal (2016) The extraordinary true story of amateur wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat (Aamir Khan) who trains his two daughters to become India's first world-class female wrestlers, who went on to win gold medals at the Commonwealth Games. The Dark Knight (2008) In the second part of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, regarded as the greatest comic book movie ever, Batman (Christian Bale) faces a villain, the Joker (Heath Ledger), he doesn't understand, and must go through hell to save Gotham and its people. Dev.D (2009) Anurag Kashyap offers a modern-day reimagining of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's Bengali romance classic Devdas, in which a man (Abhay Deol), having broken up with his childhood sweetheart, finds refuge in alcohol and drugs, before falling for a prostitute (Kalki Koechlin). Dheepan (2015) Winner of Cannes' top prize, three Sri Lankan refugees — including a Tamil Tiger soldier — pretend to be a family to gain asylum in France, where they soon realise that life isn't very different in the rough neighbourhoods. Dil Chahta Hai (2001) Farhan Akhtar's directorial debut about three inseparable childhood friends whose wildly different approach to relationships creates a strain on their friendship remains a cult favourite. Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta star. Django Unchained (2012) Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, a German bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) helps a freed slave (Jamie Foxx) rescue his wife from a charming but cruel plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio). Drive (2011) A stuntman moonlighting as a getaway driver (Ryan Gosling) grows fond of his neighbour and her young son, and then takes part in a botched heist to protect them from the debt-ridden husband.
Dunkirk (2017) Christopher Nolan's first historical war movie chronicles the evacuation of Allied soldiers from the French beaches of Dunkirk in World War II, using his love for non-linear storytelling by depicting three fronts — land, sea, and air — in time-shifted ways. The Edge of Seventeen (2016) In this coming-of-age comedy, the life of an awkward young woman (Hailee Steinfeld) gets more complex after her older brother starts dating her best friend, though she finds solace in an unexpected friendship and a teacher-slash-mentor (Woody Harrelson). End of Watch (2012) Before he made a terrible sci-fi remake of his own film, writer-director David Ayer took a near-documentarian lens to the day-to-day police work of two partners (Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña) in South Los Angeles, involving their friendship and dealings with criminal elements. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) An estranged couple (Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet) begin a new relationship unaware they dated previously, having erased each other from their memories, in what stands as writer Charlie Kaufman's defining work. The Exorcist (1973) One of the greatest horror films of all time, that has left a lasting influence on the genre and beyond, is about the demonic possession of a 12-year-old girl and her mother's attempts to save her with the help of two priests who perform exorcisms. What’s New In 2018: The Cartoons
Separated by network. All premiere dates are estimated until confirmed. Timings are in EST.
NICKELODEON:
- The Adventures of Kid Danger (January 2018): Based on the live-action Henry Danger, while the live-action hit focuses on Henry balancing the challenges of being a teenager with his adventures as a crime fighter, this new full-length animated series centers on his exploits as Kid Danger, as he embarks on brave new missions with Captain Man to battle monsters, aliens and more. The Adventures of Kid Danger and Captain Man is produced by Powerhouse Animation, which also produced the short-form series.
In the new animated series, brand-new areas of the superheroes’ headquarters will be seen by fans for the very first time, including the Man Cave tube system, which propels the crime fighters into adventure; and the Man Cave garage, filled with crime-fighting vehicles and gadgets used on missions. Along with appearances of fan-favorite characters from the live-action show, new friends and foes will also be introduced.
The 10-episode series was created and executive produced by veteran producer Dan Schneider (Henry Danger, Game Shakers, iCarly) and features the original Henry Danger live-action cast reprising their roles. The series is set to premiere in January 2018.
- Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Fall 2018): Nickelodeon will be rebooting its current CG “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” series as a 2D animated series with the title “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, as announced at their upfront in March.
“Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” will follow Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo on all-new adventures as they seek to unlock the mystical secrets of New York City. From the tallest skyscraper to the dankest sewer drain, the Turtles will encounter absurd new mutants and battle bizarre creatures all while enjoying their favorite slice of pizza. Tapping into mystic, ninja powers they never knew existed, the four brothers must learn to work together and navigate the perils of the modern age and hidden realms in order to fulfill their destiny to become a team of heroes.
The new 2D series is co-executive produced by Andy Suriano (character designer for the critically acclaimed Adult Swim series “Samurai Jack”) and Ant Ward (supervising producer, current “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) at Nickelodeon in Burbank, California. Nickelodeon has ordered 26 episodes of the 2D reboot to air starting in fall 2018.
- Pinky Malinky (Early 2018): Co-created and co-executive produced by Chris Garbutt and Rikke Asbjoern (The Amazing World Of Gumball) and executive produced by Scott Kreamer (Kung Fu Panda: Legends Of Awesomeness), upcoming Nicktoon Pinky Malinky follows the everyday life of Pinky, an infectiously positive hotdog living in a human world who, along with his two best friends, navigates school and life with a unique perspective. Their humorous experiences also will be shared across social media and Nickelodeon’s digital platforms. It will be produced at Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank.
Using the tropes of a mockumentary and reality show format, Pinky and his friends will talk directly to the camera and the audience to share their absurd and silly take on real life. At times, all children feel like they don’t fit in, and Pinky’s undeniably unique point of view as a literal wiener amongst humans will allow kids to laugh at his familiar struggles and enjoy his unusual perspective on the challenges of being a school-age kid. By always reaching for the stars, Pinky pushes himself further than anyone could imagine and proves that being a “wiener” is only one letter away from being a “winner.”
Pinky Malinky previously was done as a short for Cartoon Network. It is set to premiere in early 2018 with 20 episodes.
- Glitch Techs (2018): Glitch Techs (working title) has been picked-up for 20-episodes set to debut in 2018. It is a fresh take on the two classics and will follow 101 dogs living by themselves without a human owner. It takes place in 21st century London and features the eldest canine siblings Dylan, Dolly and their parents with the other 97 pups playing a supporting role.
The 48 x 11 minute series along with two x 22 minute specials are based on a pitch from Finland based Gigglebug Entertainment’s Anttu Harlin and Joonas Utti. It is being developed by Disney’s original animation team in London along with UK based Passion Animation Studios. The series will premiere worldwide in 2018 and is set to premiere on Disney Channel USA in fall 2018.
- Big City Greens (2018): The brand-new animated comedy is set to air on Disney XD in 2018. Previously titled Country Club, the show centers around a boy named Cricket Green who has moved with his family from the country to the big city. Cricket’s enthusiasm and curiosity inevitability results in him getting into wacky, fish-out-of-water adventures.
Emmy Award-winning director Rob Renzetti (Gravity Falls) serves as executive producer alongside brothers Shane and Chris Houghton.
Writers on Nicktoons’ Harvey Beaks, the Houghton brothers are perhaps best known in comics circles for their all-ages supernatural Western Reed Gunther, published by Image Comics. Shane Houghton has written stories for Peanuts, The Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horrorand Casper’s Scare School, while Chris Houghton has contributed to The Simpsons, Adventure Time and Kung Fu Panda comics, as well as Disney’s Gravity Falls.
Big City Greens is scheduled to premiere in 2018 on Disney XD.
- Big Hero 6: The Series (early 2018): Recently premiering an hour-long movie in November 2017, the series picks up immediately following the events of the Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Academy Award-winning feature film and continues the adventures and friendship of Hiro, the fourteen-year-old orphaned tech genius and Baymax, his very special plus-sized inflatable healthcare companion. As the new kid at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, Hiro faces daunting academic challenges at the prestigious “nerd school” and the social trials of being the “little man on campus.” Luckily, Hiro has his brains, his ingenuity and his best friend bot to help him find his way. But it’s off campus where things get dangerous. Along with neat freak Wasabi, bubbly mad scientist Honey Lemon, fanboy Fred and no nonsense Go Go, the friends form an unlikely, but awesome super hero team – Big Hero 6. Together they face madness and mayhem as a colorful array of science-enhanced villains threaten San Fransokyo.
Originally inspired by the Marvel comic of the same name created by Man of Action, the Big Hero 6 series will see the return of Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass; Jamie Chung as no-nonsense, speed genius Go Go; Scott Adsit as huggable robot Baymax; Alan Tudyk as tech guru Alistair Krei; Ryan Potter as tech genius Hiro; Genesis Rodriguez as quirky scientist Honey Lemon; David Shaughnessy as the butler Heathcliff; and Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee as Fred’s dad.
Emmy Award winners Mark McCorkle, Bob Schooley and Nick Filippi (the team behind the global hit Disney Channel series Kim Possible) serve as executive producers. Filippi also serves as supervising director. The series will premiere on Disney XD in early 2018, and has been renewed for a second season.
CARTOON NETWORK:
- Unikitty! (January 1st, 2018): The new series will follow the adventures of Unikitty as she rules her kingdom. Her daily responsibilities include making sure everybody is happy, promoting creativity and vanquishing any negativity. That all sounds sugary sweet, but Unikitty also has a bit of an edge when anyone gets in her way.
Joining Unikitty at the castle are her brother and best friend Puppycorn, her trusty bodyguard Hawkodile and the resident scientist Dr. Fox. "Unikitty!" will feature the voices of Tara Strong ("Teen Titans Go!," "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic"), Grey Griffin ("Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!," "The Loud House") Kate Micucci ("Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!," "Steven Universe"), Roger Craig Smith ("Regular Show"), Eric Bauza ("The Adventures of Puss in Boots") and H. Michael Croner ("Review").
"The Lego Batman Movie" and "The Lego Movie's" Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Roy Lee, Jill Wilfert and "Teen Titan Go!'s" Sam Register will serve as executive producers, with "Teen Titan Go!'s" Aaron Horvath as supervising producer. Edward Skudder ("Dick Figures") and Lynn Wang ("Star vs. the Forces of Evil") will serve as producers.
The series has been confirmed to premiere in a special event on January 1st, 2018 at 6.00AM on Cartoon Network USA, and will premiere new episodes on Fridays after the event.
- Craig of the Creek (2018): Previously announced at Cartoon Network’s 2017-2018 upfront, Craig of the Creek is an adventure series created by Matt Burnett and Ben Levin, formerly from Steven Universe. At the Creek, the rules of the outside world don’t apply in this kid utopia of untamed wilderness where Craig and his two best friends have ventured and tribes of children reign over tree forts and dirt bike ramps.
The series stars Phillip Solomon as Craig, Georgina Colovia as Kelsey and H. Michael Croner as JP. The pilot of the show has been released on the Cartoon Network website and application on December 1, 2017 and will premiere on Cartoon Network USA in 2018.
- Summer Camp Island (2018): Based on the original short created by Julia Pott (Adventure Time), the Summer Camp Island series will continue unfolding the mysteries that Oscar and his best friend Hedgehog encounter at a magical summer camp. It’s pilot short won the Best Animated Short award at the Provincetown Film Festival in 2017.
Oscar and his best friend Hedgehog have just been dropped off at their first summer camp. Away from their parents, the two friends must summon all their courage to navigate the mysteries and wonders of this camp where the counselors are witches, horses become unicorns and monsters live under the bed. Not all camps offer the opportunity to swim with a talking shark in the pool, crawl under the bed into a different universe or make friends with the moon, but on Summer Camp Island, anything can happen.
The series has been screened and won many awards at various film festivals in 2016 and 2017. The pilot episode has been released onto Cartoon Network’s website and application on December 2, 2017, and will premiere on Cartoon Network USA in 2018.
- Apple & Onion (2018): The series centers on two lovable buddies who are new and naive to the ways of the "big city of sophisticated food" as they go on adventures and make friends. The comedy was created by George Gendi (The Amazing World of Gumball), who also voices the character Apple in the show.
The short was selected to be screened alongside another Cartoon Network pilot, Welcome To My Life, at the Annecy Festival in 2015, before eventually being released online in May 2016. The short was picked up for a full series in March 2017, announced at Cartoon Network’s 2017-2018 upfront and will premiere on Cartoon Network USA in 2018.
So that’s the stuff to expect in 2018! Are you excited for what’s to come? Or are you disappointed that you didn’t find some stuff interesting?
With that said, the year for cartoons in 2017 is quickly coming to an end (Christmas isn’t a hot time for premieres). So, to celebrate the end of this wonderful year, I’ve created a poll on the best of cartoons and its networks in 2017! It’s a short one, hope you can fill it in! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1tLY-yYXietlgbKq5tLj2N0ibP-AZSPV0vLJPRnCahF0

I don’t know anything about movies so do it. :-D answer as many as you can from 1-60
Oh my gooooodddddd. Soph this will be my death. Okay, okay, I got this.
1. A movie you’ve seen most times in the cinema.
I’ve never seen a movie more than once in theater, but I kind of wish that I would’ve gone to see Gifted more than once bc crying in the theater is an e x p e r i e n c e.
2. Your most rewatched movie.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
3. A movie you quote on a daily basis.
I just quoted Mean Girls earlier today.
4. Favorite movie soundtrack.
The Greatest Showman.
5. Top 5 films of your favorite actor and actress.
I’ll choose Sebastian Stan for this (even tho Richard Armitage is my favorite):
-the Bronze
-I, Tonya
-the Martian
-the Captain America trilogy
-Gone
Meg Ryan:
-Fan Girl
-Anastasia
-Sleepless in Seattle
-You’ve Got Mail
-City of Angels
6. Top 5 performances of your favorite actor and actress.
Seb’s are the same except replace Gone with Political Animals, his performance as TJ is iconic and I’m so sad they ended that show. Meg’s are the same too.
7. A movie storyline you wished you had actually lived.
I’ve always dreamt of being apart of the Fast & Furious movies soooo
8. A movie that reminds you of your mom.
Any of the Star Wars.
9. A movie thar reminds you of your dad.
Grease.
10. Favorite movies from your childhood.
My parents didn’t care what I really watched as a kid so a lot of my favorites consist of actual kids movies and horror movies. Disney movies like Robin Hood (I loved both Disney’s version and Prince of Thieves), Mulan, Cinderella, Aladdin, Lion King 2. And then other movies like Underworld, Van Helsing, Halloween, and Resident Evil. I had a strange obsession with the third Resident Evil.
11. Favorite quote(s).
I can’t remember the exact line, but “that kid from Brooklyn who didn’t know how to walk away from a fight, I’m following him,” which Bucky says to Steve in the first Cap film. And obv any Mean Girls quote.
12. Top 5 female performances.
-Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter-Emilia Clarke in Me Before You-Helen Mirren in Winchester-Michelle Pfeiffer in Grease 2-Michelle Pfeiffer in Stardust
13. Top 5 male performances.
-Martin Freeman as Everett Ross-Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange-Sebastian Stan in the Bronze-Leonardo DiCaprio in the Departed-Jack Nicholson in the Departed
14. Favorite year for movies.
I don’t think I have a specific year? Although 2018 has been a fantastic year for movies so far. I do have a preference for movies from 90s and early 2000s.
18. An underrated actor.
A year ago I would’ve said Sebastian Stan, but he’s recently been doing a lot of big things and has like four movies he’s doing that he plays a main character in. Now I’ll shoot for Blair Redford.
19. An underrated actress.
Emilia Clarke. People need to appreciate her more.
20. An underrated director.
Taika Waititi.
21. An overrated actor.
I’ve never cared for George Clooney tbh.
22. An overrated actress.
I love her, but Scarlett Johansson.
23. An overrated director.
Woody Allen. Not even sorry.
24. A film you wish you had seen on the big screen.
Every MCU movie besides Guardians of the Galaxy and Black Panther. I watched Black Panther with my sister and saw Guardians at a drive-in. I had to wait to see all the others :(
25. A movie you’ve seen that you think no one else here will have heard of?
Like Sunday, Like Rain. Please watch it. It’s absolutely amazing.
26. Favorite movie characters.
Oh my gosh. Okay. Doctor Strange. Bucky Barnes. Thorin Oakenshield. Lance Tucker. Everett Ross. Jason Bourne. Owen and Deckard Shaw. There’s more, but that’s who I can think of rn.
27. A film that was better than the book.
I personally prefer the Hobbit movies over the book, but the book is great too.
28. Best Remake.
The Goodbye Girl!
29. Your first favorite actor.
I wanna say it’s Josh Hartnett? Maybe Paul Rudd?? I loved the Halloween movies as a kid and Josh was in H2O while Paul was in the Curse of Michael Myers and I loved them both. As a kid I didn’t really care much about the actors, but I’ve realized a lot of people I liked in movies as a kid are now some of my favorites.
30. Your first favorite actress.
Like I said, loved the Halloween movies. Jamie Lee Curtis. Also Milla Jovavich.
31. Favorite animated film.
I will always, with my entire heart, love Lion King 2. I still have the VHS tape.
32. Your most anticipated films.
Ocean’s 8. Robin Hood. Solo. Ant-Man and the Wasp. Incredibles 2. I wasn’t that into Venom, but after seeing the trailer, I’m pumped.
33. Last movie that disappointed you.
The Apparition was made a while back, but i didn’t watch it til recent and I really didn’t like it whatsoever.
34. Last movie that surpassed your expectations.
Like the Apparition, Dance of the Dead was made a while ago, but I watched it about two months back and oh. My. God. It was glorious. Watch it. It’ll be worth it.
37. Share an unpopular film opinion you have.
I love romance and I don’t mind seeing it in movies that don’t necessarily need it. I mean, of course I draw the line somewhere, but for example, Kili and Tauriel’s romance in the films? I know it wasn’t in the book, and a lot of people didn’t like it, but I loved it.
38. Favorite Oscar win/speech.
This is a tie between two speeches that happened right after one another at the 2017 Oscars. Gael García Bernal’s speech before presenting an award, and the Zootopia directors’ speech when they came up to accept that award. It’s truly a wonderful thing and I remember watching it and being so grateful for people like them.
39. Biggest Oscar snub(s).
Literally. Every. Time. Leonardo. DiCaprio. Lost.
40. Who do you think is overdue for another Oscar nomination/win?
Tom Hanks.
41. How many movies have you seen (rough estimation)?
Close to 1,000, I’d think.
42. A movie that made you go ‘wtf was that’.
The Apparition and The Shape of Water. At least The Shape of Water was actually good 👀👀
43. A film that scarred you.
Oh my god, I don’t know the name, but it was something that was on tv at like 2 am when I slept in the living room one time as a kid and it terrified me. It was something about werewolves and made me question my love of werewolves for days.
44. Most movies watched in a single day.
I once watched 7 of the Fast & Furious movies in one day.
45. A film that always makes you cry.
Gifted. I cried three times when I saw it in theaters and I cry every time I rewatch it.
46. A film that always makes you laugh.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
47. Movies that you think everyone should watch (not necessarily your favorites).
The Jason Bourne series. 10 Things I Hate About You. Blended. Back to School.
48. A movie that took you a couple viewings to appreciate.
Princess & the Frog. Now it’s one of my favorite Disney movies.
49. A book that you want to see adapted to the big screen.
Either I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson or Stalking Jack The Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco.
50. A book you really, really, really don’t want to see made into a film.
I love the third Percy Jackson book so so much, and I’d kill to see that scene where they’re all on Apollo’s sun chariot on the big screen, but if it turned out like the other two Percy Jackson movies I don’t think I’d ever forgive myself.
54. Favorite coming-of-age film.
Like Sunday, Like Rain.
55. Favorite superhero film.
The first Captain America just bc it’s nostalgic for both me and those characters, and Doctor Strange. I love the Winter Soldier too so I might as well include it.
57. Movies you know you should watch, but can’t bring yourself to do it?
Thor: Ragnarok. That’s the only one I’m absolutely sure that I need to watch.
58. Favorite genres.
I’m a big rom-com and action geek tbh.
59. Least favorite genres.
Not a huge fan of paranormal type horrors, but once in a while I’ll find one I like (like Winchester).
60. Biggest movie pet peeve.
I’m not too picky, I guess? I just don’t like when they don’t give enough details so the story doesn’t make sense or they mess up and the facts don’t match up.
Yep. It’s official. Sophia, I’m dead.
#i hope the layout of this isn't weird bc i spent so long making sure it didnt end up as a block of text#i skipped the ones that had a fill in the blank or ones i didnt have an answer to#this took me so long omg#soph i hope youre happy

I do know though that this won't be the last time Jen and Colin work together. Which no duh that chemistry comes only once so of course they will work together. They seem very certain they will work together on screen.
Eh, I doubt it. Yeah, they have great chemistry, but Colin’s got great chemistry with just about everybody, to be honest. He just really works well with others. And it’s just simply unlikely, regardless of how good the chemistry is, due to the way the industry works.
The problem is also in the fact that they’re on a TV show. In movies, you can do stuff like the whole “Meg Ryan & Tom Hanks” thing where they put the same duo in multiple movies and it worked well for them, because there wasn’t any single movie/role that really “stuck” hard enough to color the other movies/roles. The same thing didn’t work for Richard Gere and Julia Roberts, on the other hand. Their work in Pretty Woman was so classic and iconic that it guaranteed any future work together would be instantly compared to and colored by that film’s success - and this proved to be the case when, much later, they paired up again for Runaway Bride. Similarly, I doubt there was a single review of Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Revolutionary Road that didn’t mention Titanic somewhere in it. So yeah, it does happen with movie stars - but usually with less than stellar results for all involved, if we’re being honest.
But when you’re dealing with television stars, the problem of separating the actors and the pairing from their previous work amplifies. There’s no longer one single film the two of them worked on previously. There’s literally years’ worth of work they’ve done together, in specific roles, in a specific world, and developing a specific relationship. ANY work these two do together after this point is basically 100% guaranteed to call back their roles as Emma and Killian and be treated like it’s merely an “AU” of those roles. You know that as well as I do. In fact, I suspect that’s probably why you want it to happen.
And there’s nothing wrong with you wanting that, but no writer or director wants their work to be turned into a “Captain Swan AU”. They want to create their own unique work, not have it reduced to a glorified throwback of some other creator’s work. And that’s not what the actors want, either. Actors don’t like being typecast in any one kind of role - let alone in one specific role. It’s just not good for their careers. Now, if the writer and director are so low on the proverbial totem pole that they’d gladly sacrifice their own artistic visions for the amplified visibility of relying on Colin and Jen’s previous work together... then it could happen. But that would also require both Colin and Jen to be in a position in their careers where they’d be willing to work with someone that unknown - and not mind the potential typecasting that could ensue. Basically, what I’m saying is... If their careers peter out around the same time, I could see them making a fucking killing on the Lifetime Movie Network. But really, that’s most certainly not what I want for Colin. I want him to have a great career and be so successful that he’s still getting good roles well into old age.
Now there IS one exception to all this - and that would be if Adam & Eddy, ABC and Disney decide to do something further with Once Upon a Time itself. Which, given the success of the show in its heyday, the international fanbase and the fact that Disney fucking LOVES its sequels and franchises... this is a definite possibility. However, whether Jen and/or Colin would take part depends a lot on how their careers go from this point forward. If their careers stay about the same or go downhill, I imagine they’d be up for it. However, if either of them hit the A-List or something, it’s more doubtful. TV stars who move on to Hollywood seldom look back unless the TV show itself was huge (like The X-Files) ;)
Really, television is littered with couples, platonic and not, who had amazing chemistry together... and never worked with each other again. It’s just the way it goes. So aside from hoping for a OUAT revival on TV or straight to video (I doubt we’d ever see a film in theaters)... I think you’d better prepare yourself for the occasional throw back at an awards show and not a lot more.
And yeah, they’ve both said they’d work with each other in the future, but Nonny... I mean, I hate to be the barer of bad news, but they all say that. And by “they” I mean actors and actresses. I mean, what else are they going to say? “Fuck no, I ain’t working with that dickhead unless they pay me.” Cos even then, I mean, if they’re getting paid, actors will usually work with anybody.
