So. At the beheadst of some random anon, I gave Mega Man X DiVE another try. According to them, Captain Taiwan and/or NebulaJoy toned down the "grindy" aspect of the game, somewhat, during the period of time in which I didn't play.

They were wrong.

The first place where I found myself just under the Recommended Power for a stage was in Air Force 4-6 (Normal). Fighting Vile and Goliath took a while, but it still felt reasonable.

The first place where the Recommended Power for a stage was more than double what I had would be Factory 3-1 (Hard). This is technically the eighth "world" in the game, due to how Hard Mode is mandatory. Anyway, it was still doable, but enemies were starting to get a tad bit tanky… Fighting Rangda Bangda in 3-6H took a solid five minutes, too. How fun.

The point where I finally gave up (again) was Floating Ruins 6-1 (Normal), which comes right after Factory (Hard). Regular enemies were taking seconds to destroy while armored enemies were taking about half a minute. And given that the game is 75% enemy arenas, well… yeah. They were also taking off half of my health with each hit. I did that crap once, I didn't feel like doing it again.

So, yeah. That punk anon didn't know what the hell he was talking about. I mean, yes, I'm sure the Story Mode is technically beatable within two weeks… if you either don't do anything but play the game non-stop, or you spend money on it. I used everything that the game handed to me, and I just simply hit a wall that I didn't feel like banging my head against. Again.

I really hope the Offline version of the game fixed this as much as people claim…

Aight so it seems I was way too hasty before. Seems they ARE doing amnesiac Bison, at least to some degree. Also I compared him to War before but Capcom got ol crazy bovine out here looking like Raoh on that big ass horse. Gameplay looks cool, that was never much of a worry(or care) I’m a little on the fence since he’s prolly gonna be a charge character and I’m not the best with those. Also is it me or is he using Soul Power as well as Psycho Power? Idk. In any event I’m lowkey pissed to admit that I’m actually interested in ol Dictator despite me not wanting him at all.

And yeah a lot of that is choked up to the Raoh resemblance. Oh well

The real reason why Mega Man X Dive is shutting down after less than three years is because, throughout the many waves of blatant fanservice gacha characters Capcom Taiwan never realized that real Mega Man fans think Omega-Xis is hot and no one else

2023 was the worst year for megaman. Two people involved in the franchise left Capcom, mmx online deathmatch close its servers, x dive taiwan it's going to shut down in September and probably the others servers will suffer the same fate around a year

(This has always been my favorite Boss Battle theme of the Star Force series. Not only does it sound cool, but it just really matches Rogue/Burai so well. Apparently, Capcom agrees, because they made this theme Rogue's battle theme in Mega Man X DiVE (the Taiwan version, at least.)

So, hey. I can't download Shovel Knight or Terraria for my 3DS, anymore.  I spent good money on those games and now, they're gone forever*.  Nintendo should totally refund me all my money because I didn't truly "purchase" anything.  I was just "renting" it while it was available, so I'm owed a refund.  Right?

Now, you might be wondering what that has to do with anything.  Well, I've been looking at some forum posts and… yeah.  We've got people asking – nay, demanding – that Capcom Taiwan refund them their spent Paid Elemental Metals (the paid in-game currency).

There are plenty of games that went down for good, but never returned unspent paid game currency.  CapTai technically doesn't have to refund the unspent PEMs; they for their players' money and legally get to keep it.  However, they're doing this as a gesture of good will since some people didn't get to spend their PEMs, and PEMs don't do anything other than act as in-game currency.  What gets me is the people who want CapTai to give them a full refund for all money spent on their game.  Or, even better, they're demanding a free copy of X DiVE Offline.  You knew the game could end, someday, Player.  You agreed to the EULA and ToS (and probably didn't read it).  Don't be greedy.  Just be happy for the good times you had with your digital swag.

Besides.  If you really want your trophies back, you can always just get X DiVE Offline and get 'em back permanently.
