#can you tell I got way too deep into 'why are echoes decimalised'

Okay so I know one hundred pennies equal one echo because that's the most convenient way to actually play, but what if they didn't.
What if the Bazaar issued coins worth a seventh of an echo, then seventy-seven pennies made one of those? Yeah it would be a nightmare to keep track of but consider. It would be cool.
#fallen london#The idea of splitting the Echo into one-hundreths has to come from the Fourth#in fact I'd argue that payments is rostygold and other trade goods is a holdover from earlier cities#where actual echoes were the province of rich merchants and nobody would bother minting something as small as a penny#(and the Third probably standardised the value of common trade goods and didn't bother with coins at all unless the Masters demanded it)#can you tell I got way too deep into 'why are echoes decimalised'#considering the answer is almost certainly 'because the player is accustomed to a decimal currency'
