This is a somewhat-hingeless rant about disability and OFMD/Izzy takes.

Tumblr handed me a "recommended" post that made me so mad I ended up deleting a moderately unhinged reply and walking away for a bit. It's still eating at me, so I'm just gonna reply to it indirectly.

(I know this is cowardly, but anything I say will just lead to fighting and I'm tired. If anyone wants to discourse about whatever I post, please do me a favor and don't rant at me directly. Take caps and scream into the void like a gentleperson.)

First: I am physically disabled and I often use visible disability aids (just establishing my credentials so I'm allowed to not support this take uncritically). I also have mental health issues and less visible physical issues that honestly cripple me more.

Second: the title alone, man. My main issue with this whole thing is the disability gatekeeping, but that interpretation... hngh. I don't think OFMD was trying to meet a disability quota, you know? It's not "we have three disabled people so we can kill one off."

"Izzy shouldn't have died because he's the most clearly, visibly disabled" is a weird take because it conflates two unrelated things: Izzy's disability and Izzy's death. It's okay to be upset that Izzy died because his specific disability was something you related to. It hurts to have representation taken away! But his death had a narrative purpose. It had nothing to do with his status as an amputee.

And yeah, people are disabled in different ways, but is acknowledging that really an invitation to dismiss some disabilities as invalid? Sure, let's gatekeep disability. Let's decide that some people aren't disabled, actually. Lucius, Black Pete, Wee John, Spanish Jackie, and Ed aren't disabled in a way that's huge and traumatic and life-changing, so throw them out.

Except Ed is one of our protagonists, and I'd argue that his issues are way more important to the narrative than Izzy's. Ed's bad knee is technically fanon (fanon that I love because I too have bad joints and a shit knee), but I would argue that Ed is absolutely canonically disabled. Are we really supposed to disregard his crippling mental health issues because they're not visible? We're just going to shrug off the suicidal despair that drove a huge chunk of the plot? Wild that something so central to the story just doesn't matter because it's not the right kind of disabled.

That was a tangent, sorry. Back to Izzy and the injury that was "thrust upon him."

Yes, his injury is life-changing and traumatic. I'm sympathetic -- but not as sympathetic as I would be if he hadn't played a significant part in the events that led to the loss of his leg.

"That's victim blaming!"

It's a statement of fact. As Izzy himself admitted, he drove the darkness in Ed. He dangled his leg over the side of the ship and a shark bit it off. The injury wasn't thrust upon him so much as actively courted.

Izzy tried to shoot himself in the head at his lowest moment. If I may misquote OP: if you cannot see that there is a WORLD of difference between Ed's multi-episode suicidal arc and Izzy impulsively seeking an out, I honestly do not know what to say to you.

But the big thing about Izzy is that he is a secondary character in a story. If you take off the Izzy blinders, you can see that it's not all about him. His go at suicide killed the symbol of toxic masculinity that he had been up to that point so his story could progress. When he crawled along the floor whining pathetically, his sheer levels of wet cat-ness brought the crew together. The crew rallying around him and giving him the love and forgiveness that he did not ask for? That was about the crew and their growth, not Izzy.

Izzy did not have some deep-seated care for the crew before he was shot. He didn't throw himself in front of a bullet for them. He was not the crew's protector. Izzy's growth began when Ed essentially fired him, and the real changes happened post leg removal.

But here's something super important: Izzy was not suicidal when he told Ed he was ready to go.

Because yeah, I agree, it'd suck if a character who attempted suicide spent a few episodes being rehabilitated and accepting love and who he is turned around and decided that he wanted to die. It's a good thing that's not what happened.

This is what made me decide not to reply directly. Yeah, clearly a lot of disabled queer people are upset. And you know what? That's fine! I always support feeling what you're feeling, even if that feeling is negative. I'm sorry that other queer disabled people are hurting, and I don't want to add to that hurt by being directly confrontational.

Then OP said the last part and I was riled all over again. I was prepared to reblog since I meet their criteria (or maybe I don't -- I might not be the right kind of disabled), but what's the point? How miserable do I want to be? How much do I want to make them miserable?

I know I ranted a lot here, but what I'm getting at is this: Izzy DID NOT "go from wanting to die after a hugely traumatic disabling life event" to "wanting to die after finding acceptance and happiness." If he had, I'd totally understand why OP is upset and I'd think, yeah, maybe they should've run that by a few more people.

Izzy didn't want to die. He accepted his death as the inevitability it was -- inevitable not just because the wound was fatal, but because his death was important to the larger story and, importantly, Ed's story.

Izzy is piracy. Izzy is toxic masculinity personified. Izzy is anchoring Ed to Blackbeard. Izzy is not a character who overcame great obstacles and found acceptance just to decide that, actually, he'd like to be dead instead. He's not David Jenkins and company telling people who relate to Izzy that they should just die. He's not proof that recovery and joy are impossible for broken people.

Look at Ed. He went from wanting to die to wanting to live and do better. He's still working for his acceptance and happiness, and Izzy's last words are insistence to him that he'll get there.

Lucius said that some people are just broken, and this season does everything it can to refute that. One of the clearest themes is no one is broken beyond repair. People can change and they can heal and they can be forgiven by the people they hurt. This theme is so clear that I don't understand how anyone can overlook it.

I've been typing for ages and I'm honestly so sorry to anyone who takes me seriously enough to read this. It's a lot of negativity, and we have more than enough of that.

(And if you're disabled, hurt by Izzy's death, and also somehow still here, I sincerely hope that you feel better about it soon. I hope you'll come across meta that puts things into perspective in a way that lets you appreciate OFMD's positive messages and make peace with or move past season two. Barring that, I hope you find a new show to latch onto that gives you everything you want.)

Rigamarole: Section 3: Confluence

I know he’s not interested in talking, but turning the radio on would still feel like telling him to shut up.

I could think of a thousand things to say if left to my own devices - but my body has felt like one big system error for the last five years. 

I have a thousand things I want to say and I don’t feel like saying any of them, staring at the back of his curly head as he studies his scrawny arm resting on the windowsill, with something like stubborn pride that unsettles me.

“How do you calculate the length of the hypotenuse?” I blurt brusquely, like it’s a dare.

“I don’t need you to quiz me, Lady Licorice,” He doesn’t turn his gaze from his arm, rolling down his sleeve until it hides his bloodless hands.

“Excuse me for trying to keep you out of summer school,” I sniff with more than genuine vehemence. “Remind me who got a ��D’ on their last test?”

“I didn’t study for that one. I studied for this one,” he says in an exasperated monotone, crossing his arms over his chest - leaning forward against the seat belt like he’s a ragdoll just barely being kept upright.

I purse my lips at that, but he can’t see me, my eyebrows furrowing into a migraine. I try to push it back with one hand, keeping the other on the steering wheel.

I shouldn’t have left without my coffee this morning…

“So what’s this ‘plan?’”

“Don’t want to go into it.”

I can barely feel my numb fingers resting on the faux leather wheel cover - watching the red light grow from a speck and bleed into color. I shift - reminding myself of the feeling of cotton on my skin. Weight. That I can feel my hair on my neck. If I stop to think about it.

“I thought we said we were going to tell each other what was going on?”

He looks over at me slowly as I stare at him, my jaw set, and his eyes dare me back.

“Is Kevin still texting you?”

“Not enough to be jealous of.”

I manage to keep my uncomfortable heartbeat from showing - but I feel cold on the outside - wondering if the only reason my heart isn’t pounding against my ribs is because it’s shrinking.

Riley glares at me rancorously.

“What did he say?”

Shifting uncomfortably against my seat belt as the car pauses at the street corner, I wriggle my phone from my jean’s pocket and toss it onto his lap with as much un-phase-ed-ness as I can muster, and turn the radio up to a murmur to drown out this feeling under my skin.

“An albino- a mosquito-!”

Riley scrolls back and forth between the two most recent texts as I glance over his shoulder.

That’s what you said last year, Kevin.

Sorry, Lei. I know. I’ve been dying to come see you again but I’ve got no time. My mom’s been on my back about grades all year like a drill sergeant because of graduation. But maybe this summer if she doesn’t make me go with her to visit her family again.

Riley looks at me in abject indignation. I just shrug a little.

“Don’t tell me you’re buying this.”

“I’m not buying anything,” I say a little too shortly, defensively. “I just let him talk. If he comes he comes. If he doesn't, who cares?

Riley looks like there’s something else he wants to say to that, but he just puts the phone on the dashboard to sunbathe in the little light eking its way through the foggy morning haze and lifts his ghost-like hand to his mouth to check his sour breath.

A thousand thoughts spiral in my brain. Shake themselves up and rearrange into new phrases - nonsense and blabber - like a bag of scrabble pieces - but-

“You smell like barf.”

-Is what comes out.

He just scowls at me, but I scowl back, bitterly.

“After all this time, you still haven’t learned how to cover your tracks?”

BNHA AU Ideas: True Might

Also on AO3! 

TL;DR:  Powers don't make the hero - passion does. Luckily for Izuku and Toshinori, this is something the quirkless have in droves.

AKA: All Might is a quirkless vigilante, One for All isn't a quirk that exists and 1A gets a whole 3-week buffer before villain's start kicking their face in as opposed to the 3 days of canon.

Basically: Quirkless!Vigilante!All Might and Quirkless!Successor!(gen ed) UA Student!Midoriya. It’s a riot.

Yagi is stupid strong, his only form in this AU is basically Muscle Form from canon, but he’s a little less ridiculously cut. Not quite chubby, but huggable. This is mostly because he A, isn’t a celebrity that needs to have a marketable image and B, he really likes carbs.

He’s not exactly a vigilante by choice, in his day and age quirkless kids weren’t permitted to apply to UA, either gen ed or heroics. When Nezu got the job, that all changed, but it was a solid decade too late for Yagi.

He’s admittedly a little bitter about it, but he refuses to do anything but his best. He might be a little snippier with Pros than he really needs to be but oh well.

Katsuki and Izuku are utterly enamoured with this crazy vigilante that just doesn’t lose, refuses to back down from a fight even when he’s outmatched, and somehow coming out victorious anyway, rescuing everyone. They have a tense relationship, but often find time to get together and just ramble about how cool All Might is, share theories and dissect his fights. It’s not uncommon for Katsuki to have been hurling abuse at Izuku during class, only to show up at his house after school with a backpack full of snacks and a notebook full of questions.

Izuku knows most of what Katsuki does is to keep his status in the school. If he showed pity to a dumb quirkless runt he’d be painted with the same brush. This doesn’t make what Katsuki has done right! Only Izuku doesn’t blame him because he’s way too forgiving.

Izuku is the smartest person Katsuki knows and vice versa – they are each other’s measuring stick. Katsuki shows Izuku bravery, Izuku shows Katsuki determination.

Episode 1 goes as it does but you see a real flash of regret when Katsuki tells Izuku to jump off a roof because they are kinda-sorta friends. Izuku looks so betrayed. We meet the slime villain like before, All Might saves Izuku and 100% doesn’t expect the kid to fanboy about him and ask for two autographs – one made out to a “Kacchan”.

“Can someone quirkless be a hero?” “The whole world will be against you. Most places won't even give you a shot – no matter how good you are. You’re better off picking something else.”

Izuku is crushed but he does understand. All Might leaves and Izuku trails off kinda hopelessly. He follows the sounds of explosions without meaning to.

It’s Katsuki! He’s dying! Like usual at this point lmao. Izuku rushes in much like canon, All Might shows up, pulls Katsuki free and slams a dumpster on the slime villains head before making a speedy getaway. The police rip into Izuku but Katsuki actually defends him. “You were doing fuck all while I fucking died – don’t knock the only asshole who tried.” Izuku quietly slips him the autograph before running off the scene. Katsuki cries because Izuku got that for him even after he was such a fucking bastard that day? He can’t bring himself to be a dick to Izuku again, even only for show.

All Might finds Izuku and he's like “Sorry I was an ass I was being a dick because I had low self-esteem – I’m quirkless. If you’ll have me I’ll make you into the best hero the world had ever seen

Izuku, obviously, says yes please!

Also, hypermobile Izuku with joint braces as support gear because just let me project please my arms are killing me ( I wrote this a while ago and yes. My arms are still killing me - yes even now). He gets them after All Might sees him miss a dodge because his ankles rolled beneath him. They support his joints beyond the normal range of strength, letting him do some crazy pivots and handsprings, making it easy to support all his weight on a single-arm with very little strain. They can also lock in place, lessening muscle fatigue if he needs to hold onto something for ages and preventing injury if he’s pushing against something. Produced by David and Melissa Shield and imported through Nighteye Heroics.

Is support gear illegal for civilians to own? Yes! But medical equipment isn’t so if you can just convince people its medical not support you can get away with a lot.

Yagi has no weapons himself, other than the random shit he picks up and swings at people, and has little support gear other than a communicator, panic button, and a whole lot of zip-ties.

Izuku should probably have weapons but I’m struggling to think of anything other than war fans because how cool would that look? Because Shonen they would also have the ability to create powerful downdrafts that would give a boost to a jump or dodge.

Probably doesn’t get them until later and needs to train with them.

In this AU, One for All isn’t a quirk. Rather, it’s a role, passed from quirkless person to quirkless person, the only people who can’t be hard countered by All for One. They tend to be vigilantes, crime lords or hero managers, doing their part to foil as much of All for One’s plans as they can, through whatever means necessary.

It’s a role with a pretty high fatality rate.

No one knows All Might is quirkless other than those close to him, they instead think he has a strength quirk. He’s the most prolific vigilante in Japan and is almost as much of a household name as canon All Might. More divisive though, with most people decrying his vigilante status when he could ‘easily make a respectable hero’. He’s also pretty brutal with his takedowns of some villains, leading a lot of people to call him an unregulated brute. Still more call him a villain which, legally he would be - were he using a quirk.

Nighteye is his contact in the heroics industry, gives him loads of inside info that’s typically not something he should be passing on. He’s still close with David Shield. Nighteye imports any costume parts he needs from David and leaves them at various pickup points for Yagi.

He went to college with David in America after Nana died; America having a quirk blind admission process helped - but he’d have gotten shit talked a lot if people didn’t just assume he had a strength quirk. Dude was and is crazy big.

David was one of the only people that knew he was quirkless

OH FOR FUN; Nighteye was also going to this American college and that’s where he met All Might. The three of them became the world’s strangest group of friends and may have lowkey done some slightly illegal vigilante work around the campus and surrounding town. They had a reputation for getting no sleep ever and being the most mismatched set of people

Secretly Smart Jock, Business Man with a Touch of E-boy, Science Hipster. They all tumbled into class together with varying levels of alive-ness. Nighteye and David were very much not morning people.

UA! It’s a ride. Izuku fails the practical but he’s not shocked – he was prepared for this.

He actually got like 30 hero points? But they refused to admit him on hero points alone due to his ‘deficiencies’. They don’t exactly tell Izuku this but Aizawa was there and he was furious.

Gets into 1C with Shinsou, Shinsou fuckin hates him on sight for reasons best known to him (It’s bc he was so god damned cheerful he just – assumed Izuku had a quirk. I love Shinsou but he’s more than a little judgemental). Izuku is like smiling through the pain because he just wanted to make a friend his age – Katsuki barely counts.

He sits with him at lunch and makes friends-ish with the hero kids who dragged Katsuki along, meets Ochaco again. She’s upset he didn’t get in – especially after he tells her he apparently got 30 points. The whole table gets mad on his behalf and hes embarrassed and happy.

Like day 2 he’s leaving gym and someone is like “Oh LMAO it’s Deku – he was in the year below me at Aldera. Only fuckin quirkless kid in the whole school; can’t believe he got into UA.” He turns to Izuku. “Who’s dick did you suck to get in you - ?” And Shinsou just decks him. He grabs Izuku – who is super confused fyi – and s p r i n t s. They have to stop after a while because hes having a panic attack and Shinsou doesn’t know what the fuck to do and he’s mad and upset and the sunshine boy is sobbing –

Aizawa shows up, having seen the (end of the) altercation and is ready to expel some gen ed kids he can’t legally expel – until he sees the two kids from the entrance exam he was interested in – including the quirkless kid who should have gotten in. Well he’s much more willing to hear them out.

100% requests expulsion on those 2 2E kids because that’s Discrimination and they should know better as second years. Nezu grants it because those 2 were di ck s

No USJ because no All Might – stuff like that will come,,, later : )

Sports Fest! Izuku and Shinsou kick ass, Aizawa is Watching. All Might may have gotten in as a crowd member with Nighteye and a visiting David and Melissa and they are cheering on their sun son. Also, Nighteye is going to go cheer on Mirio so he just got a pass to attend all 3 days of the sports festival. He’s just buying snacks on the second day because he’s never talked to one of the second years in his life.

Shinsou and Izuku make it to the tournament. Izuku has been training pretty seriously with All Might for a while now and hes a very good fighty boy. Makes it to the 3rd round of the tournament where he loses to Iida. Shinsou makes it second where he loses to Katsuki. Izuku is like “Iida might you be Ingenium’s brother or something?” “Yes, I am!” “OH MY GOD I LOVE INGENIUM ISN’T HE THE COOLEST” “YES MY BROTHER IS AMAZING” Shinsou is just watching while faintly amused.

The Full Metal Alchemist Live Action Movie Part 8: Watch This Episode Covered in Butts be the Only One Not Flagged by Tumblr

Gonna be risky business and not only upload all of these caps the way I screenshot them--which has just SO MANY poorly CGI’d butts but also gonna do it on the Tumblr Drafts folder, which I have been assured works now.

I’m so worried about so many things, but considering all the fears I have about like...everything else in the world right now...I guess I’ll take a risk on tumblr.

Edit: I cannot believe that I had 8ish episodes of Kaiba’s tall dueling tower get flagged but not this movie. I just....wow I cannot.

So anyway, last we left off, General Hakuro stepped in and was like “Hi guys, you like my wily plans that no one in their right mind would have ever guessed???”

Yo remember this part of the anime? Where the bodies drop from the ceiling and it’s a hunk out of the final arc--it’s here. In this movie. This movie that can’t possibly afford to do that. Lets get some CGI animated bodies in here ASAP.

It’s like a Monet, as the Mean Girls say, because far away and shrinked to 500 pixels this looks kinda neat. They sort of look more like those slime ball that grow in the back of your throat rather than human bodies, but they still look pretty gross hanging up there.

But then.....we zoom in. Remember again that this was full screen on my computer, and at one point was on a freakin movie screen. This level of 3d...was on a movie theater screen.

The mind boggles. The mind boggles!

Like as you know, I am an artist, and I’ve dabbled in...basically everything in my pursuit to make a dollar...and I have taken about 2 years of classes in 3D art with Maya and all those. I’m not thaaat great at it--I’m much more an illustrator/painter--but I feel like I have that reference point. Can I just say--the model is...fine...you can do a lot with layers of bump maps so you don’t need a truly detailed model (not like they did that, because they didn’t do that, but I can figure that maybe they had an intention to do that and forgot?)

But, there’s no connection of the wires to bodies. They just kinda float? The bodies are also all the same shiny-ness? To the point that it looks like a copy paste? (I don’t think it is, the wires are slightly different on a few of them) There’s just not much in the way of a texture map or a bump map. It just...there’s also something missing from the skin.

Skin is actually kind of rough to render, so when I did it back in the day, I followed like a checklist to make sure I had all the layers and steps to make someone look...clammy. Some things are kinda translucent, they reflect light a different way...especially white skin like this wouldn’t be just...white like putty. Dunno if you ever saw a white person, but we got so many veins...there was so much potential to make something really gross and fleshy.

Instead we got silly putty. It’s fine. I’m fine.

So General Hakuro decides to just...kill everyone right now.

This makes no sense to me.

That means that the whole thing of Lust killing Hughes was completely unrelated to General Hakuro. All Hakuro needed was Shou Tucker, who has been in prison for...I assume months since Ed shipped him off. And Shou was only released today? Just now? Just now when Hughes was shot?

So this all just happened at the same time by accident?

I mean the General sent us to the wrong lab initially, so he didn’t actually want us to be here, and now that we are here, he’s going to set off an entire army as a reaction to three people walking in and going “oops”?

So, lets get a look at our army.

Oh it was so disappointing, this reveal. Not just the eyeball that has a bounce light coming from below the top lip there (how did that even happen???) but also when it opened it’s mouth, it had a flat animation of skin breaking--it wasn’t actually rendered 3d skin, it was like a jpg wrapped around it or something (or at least that was the illusion I got. That is fine for a video game or a TV show, but this is a movie. This is shot so that it can be displayed in a size bigger than your own house.

What happened to the animation team on this one? Not saying I can do better, cuz no, I can’t, that 3d chapter in my life was a while back, but I’m just one guy. This was an entire animation studio and they just...didn’t render 3d face ripping (which is their entire job, to work in 3d) and then they kinda just turned on the stock physics dynamics and dropped em instead of animating them.

The way they fell was like fish from a bucket--the same amount of speed, too. they all ragdolled like a 3D shooter, their rigs just hanging on for dear life (and yes, you could see the deforming happen on the joints of these models.) I’m fine with having a computer program render something out with a physics engine...but there is a balance.

You do have to still go in there and finangle it back because...real life is hella stupid. Real physics? So stupid. It was hilarious how nonthreatening it was, too because they’re like...the size of shrimps in that zoom out image. The scale is just so wild!

It was like one bored guy in a sound booth and they multiplied his voice three times. Golden. Absolutely golden.

So these guys stride over, all of them with the same amount of speed (leading me to think it was probably a recorded walk cycle they all share with slight alterations between all of em) and they kinda just...pile on eachother in a weird way.

I will give them this: I was happy to see something that wasn’t physics or procedural. They mo-capped and animated that part for sure. It had the touch of an artist’s hand. It was also a very funny way for Hakuro to die because this guy was on screen for like 5 minutes, and maybe 7 minutes of this whole movie.

Youknow...I think it really says a lot about your nude 3d models if they’re not disturbingly human enough to trigger the tumblr filter, youknow?

Anyway, Envy looks on.

And then Gluttony saves the city.

Meanwhile, they decide to bust out the fire effects and Mustang becomes the most useful person in this entire movie. Like honestly this movie was poorly named, because it should have just been “Mustang saves the FullMetal Alchemist’s Entire Ass.”

The next part seems like I forgot a cap, or maybe missed something. I swear to you, I did not.

First off, Al becomes fullmetal and makes this happen without an alchemy circle. The show doesn’t really care to talk about that though, it’s just a thing he can do now, and you’d only notice it if you were writing a Tumblr post about it.

I swear to you, Winry is just inside of Al and there is no explanation.

There is no explanation for this.

She was on the couch...why is she not on the couch? What?

And then when you think they might have a moment, Ed’s like.

Damn.

For reals what the hell was that entire scene except for a way for Ed to get his arm stitched back on in like 2 minutes?

Outside, Envy and Lust are just strolling around the back-alley of this red brick building we have seen used for this entire movie.

And like...it’s so funny to me because they weren’t trying to run or hide. It makes complete sense why they got shot. This is what happens when you just...walk away when the whole military guard wants to kill you.

Now lets go see how Hawkeye is faring.

Luckily, all of the ambling bodies have decided to walk slowly through this one weird grass section between extremely long buildings.

And Hawkeye tells everyone “You have to shoot their heads off” and I want you to look at that scene and tell me how many of those bodies still have heads.

Oh, all of them. Don’t worry about it.

Kinda hard to see, but Ed shows up to give Mustang a hand, which was fully unnecessary but we’ll get to that in a bit.

This movie is such a gem.

Ed goes big brain and realizes that Envy is still burned up, and thus is about to pass on.

And whatever, I’ll take it. It’s not like the movie has told us that they are made out of 1000000 lives, for all we know, in the movie universe, they really are only 4 lives. Like half a cat. Maybe Father only killed half a cat instead of an entire city.

Yugi Muto would be so freakin proud of Envy for how often this guy gets hit square in the chest with fire balls. It’s basically every scene where Envy and Mustang share screen time.

And don’t worry, I don’t think Envy died? But they sure made it look like he did, which I’m sure everyone everywhere was really happy to see, since Envy’s death was one of the climaxes of the whole series. Like people used to make these lists of “top 10 saddest anime deaths” and how many people had Envy on there? Like everyone? People freakin love Envy and they did him so much dirty in this movie.

Again I have no explanation for Winry.

So Mustang is like, Ed, you make sure Winry doesn’t biff it in that corner, and I’ll do my actual job over here on this side. And yo, he did.

And so then that’s it, Lust is dead, and now we have a Sorcerer’s stone.

Man it looks delicious, right?

I’d eat the hell out of that.

Anyway, we only have one more update and we’re done with this movie!

I’m not even gonna sugar coat it this time around. This next show is something good, but a lot of you are probably going to hate me for not placing it higher on the list.

#14-OK KO: Let’s Be Heroes (2017-2019)

The Plot: A five to ten-year-old kid (literally his age description. Deal with it) named KO has a dream to be the world's greatest superhero. He believes that the one way to accomplish this involves working at Lakewood Plaza Turbo, a shopping center for superheroes. But things aren’t as easy as they seem, as he and his coworkers, Rad and Enid, must team up to stop the villainous Lord Boxman from destroying the plaza. Will KO meet his goal of becoming the hero of his dreams, or will he be crushed just like the robots he fights daily?

So, I want to make clear that OK KO: Let’s Be Heroes is a satire of anime. Which anime? ALL ANIME! From televised shows to even anime-inspired RPGs, this series is clearly written by people who love the genre. And with these references comes OK KO’s sense of humor. As one would expect, this series relies on both satirical as well as reference humor. Fans of anime can laugh at how OK KO pokes fun at certain anime tropes, and they may even have a blast at the references to their favorite anime/manga/video game. And for kids who have never seen a single anime in their life, they will still have fun with the show’s random sense of humor. And OK KO can still be considered a parody for being weird because (and let’s be honest) most animes are pretty weird. Although it does get hard to tell when the satire ends and when the show is just doing its own thing, it’s still fun to watch, so who am I to complain?

And it’s not just anime that OK KO shines a light on, but even classic Cartoon Network shows. That may not seem like a big deal, but trust me when I say that this series came out around the time Cartoon Network didn’t give a hoot to anything that wasn’t Teen Titans Go. And if you love that show, go right ahead, but I think even the most diehard fans of it have to admit that CN has a problem. Then, here comes OK KO with references to current and classic shows, to the point where it has a ten-minute long love letter to fans of CN since the beginning. However, one could say that these references, as great as they are, will go over the heads of the children watching it. Don’t get me wrong, I personally loved a random Ed Edd and Eddy reference, but I can see how most kids will be scratching their heads in confusion. Still, it’s nice to have a show that proves how Cartoon Network isn’t ashamed of its history (Even though that’s what it feels like at times).

And aside from the references and humor, this show also has a great cast of characters. KO is one of those characters that you either find compelling or annoying (as with most anime protagonists, if I’m being honest), but even then, he still has a great cast to work off of. His mother Carol is up there as one of the best cartoon moms, Mr. Gar is fun with his comedic overreactions, and Dendy has a great dynamic as KO’s best friend. Then there’s Enid. Enid is easily the best character in the series. Not only can people relate to her fears and insecurities, but her level headed personality makes for someone who’s both identifiable and fun. The only character who I would say is a mixed bag is easily Rad. At his best, he’s funny and occasionally relatable. At his worst, he’s annoying and downright idiotic. Rad’s not as bad as other comic relief characters (I give you: Princess Pony Head), but he can occasionally drag the show down a bit.

However, no heroes are as good without their villains, and OK KO has a great rogues gallery that ranges from the comically incompetent to the mysteriously serious. Lord Boxman is a hilarious villain, as his attempts to destroy the Plaza go as well as Elmer Fudd’s hunts for wabbits. The same goes for his robotic children (literally what they’re described as), who each not only have a great sibling dynamic, but they even have dynamic personalities that work off our heroes perfectly. Then there are the more serious villains. I can’t talk about some threats without spoiling the show, but a character like Professor Venomous does have a lot to offer. Venomous is a perfect straight man to Lord Boxman’s...Boxman-ness, and does a great job at moving the plot along when he needs to. There’s just one small problem with a villain that is as serious as him: OK KO is a comedy. Some shows can balance being funny and dramatic when they need to be, but someone like Venomous puts OK KO in a tricky position. Either the show makes him uncharacteristically silly, or he makes the show uncharacteristically serious. It’s a weird game of back and forth that can make the series feel unfocused if not done right. And rarely is it done right.

Speaking of unfocused, let’s talk about the show’s animation. First, I want to clarify that I think the show has phenomenal animation. It can be expressive during the comedic moments and downright epic for certain fights. But this is a show where the art style of an episode depends on the artist storyboarding a scene. OK KO: Let’s Be Heroes is not the first (and odds are it won’t be the last) show to do this. However, when done well, a show can have artists with similar art styles to help make the show have a single identity. OK KO seems like it has 5-6 different art styles, and it’s very noticeable when the episode switches between them. Something like this can come across as distracting, and the show’s quality suffers because of it. This gets improved during season 2, but it doesn’t change how awkward things get when the characters go off-model. I get the logic of making characters off-model for comedic purposes. It’s a tactic that has been used in anime and even some western animated cartoons. The audience doesn’t usually see the characters look so bizarre, so it’s always funny to see it happen when they do. But because OK KO has several character models to use for each art style, one can say that it already goes off-model enough as it is. Not to mention that certain facial expressions are just too weird, even for this show.

As you can notice, for everything this show does well, there’s always something that it needs to improve on. It had a lot of promise, but I can see how some people might be turned away rather quickly. Therefore, with all its failings and successes, OK KO: Let’s Be Heroes is a show that is just o.k. But something being o.k. is still pretty good in my book.

(But seriously, though, Carol is easily one of the best cartoon moms and I will frickin’ FIGHT YOU on that!)

A Brief History Of Transphobia In Horror Movies Feat. A Small Window Into The Reality Of Being Trans Cause Let’s Face It It’s Way Scarier Than Any Horror Film

It combined the eerie atmosphere of supernatural horror with the twists and turns of a psychological thriller - by all means An Incident In Ghostland (2018) was a great film.

It drove an innovative plot around tight bends of classic horror tropes and brought us skidding back to the ultimate psychological horror ending: we never really know what’s real and what’s not.

But this film should’ve crashed within the first 15 minutes.

And all that should be left in the wreck is a lipstick in the shade ‘Harlot Red’.

We already know that the struggle for trans rights - let alone with trans representation in the media - is a worthy fight. It has not been helped by the horror genre.

It’s time to change that.

It began with Buffalo Bill.

“Would you f—k me? I’d f—k me.”

It’s one of the most iconic horror films that have been put on the silver screen. But the thing is, when people were walking out of the first screenings of The Silence of the Lambs in 1991, they were traumatised by the disgusting acts Hannibal Lecter would commit on-screen.

They were not protesting Lecter’s former patient as they swiped on makeup, tucked their genitals between their legs, and paraded their desired body in the mirror. This quick pre-murder ritual is the most prominent portrayal of transgender identities, even if - as Lecter says - they are not trans.

From the scenes in the film to the pages of the novel it’s based on, we see Buffalo Bill’s gender dysphoria, but Lecter instead suggests their apparent trans-ness is rooted in something else - something far more sinister, something that never actually gets explained.

All we know is they want to create a ‘woman suit’ by murdering women and skinning their bodies.

Buffalo Bill thus brought to light a portrayal of gender dysphoria that claimed those that were questioning their gender identity were obsessed by gender.

So obsessed, in fact, they would go to extreme lengths to fulfill their desires by killing women and taking their ‘parts’ for themself.

This is also explored in another horror classic: Psycho (1960).

This film defined the horror genre, and put the slasher on the map. And if slasher films weren’t guilty enough for their portrayal of women, they further followed the J.K. Rowling school of thought and gave trans women a new separate character-arc.

Norman Bates is yet another horror icon known for dressing as a different gender, and then killing women. Whether they’re doing so to protect their identity or to keep the memory of their mother alive, we see another man don a wig, pull on a dress, and whip out a weapon of their choice.

The only difference is that Norman does become his mother (and thus a woman) on a permanent basis - only when he is officially declared insane and institutionalised.

The more deranged they become, the more crimes they commit, the more of a woman they become. By officially crossing the gender lines, they officially become monsters.

“But weren’t Norman Bates and Buffalo Bill based on a true story?”

Ed Gein was a serial killer who murdered countless women, mutilated their bodies, and used their body parts to create various household furniture and items of clothing. But it was Gein’s creation of a ‘woman suit’ that would allow them to crawl into their beloved mother’s skin which confirmed that they were the original inspiration behind these movie villains.

Despite debate on whether Gein was in fact transgender, a majority believe via police evidence and interviews that they would identify as trans by modern standards.

This brings us to an important point:

To an extent, these films portray trans peoples accurately. Funnily enough, trans people are actually people (shock horror). This means that they can in fact be murderers.

But what these films don’t get right is that they all portray trans people as exactly the same. Like, exactly the same. As in they could at least have tried to be a bit more imaginative.

So, when I was watching An Incident In Ghostland one Sunday evening, I was reminded of the same trope yet again. Well, not reminded, per se. ‘Smacked in the face’ is probably a better phrase to use.

But thankfully, Ghostland did throw in something different.

They chuck in a character that belongs in some found-footage haunted asylum movie!

*Slams laptop shut*

In Ghostland we see two sisters get stalked, held captive, and sexually assaulted and raped by a mentally impaired man and a trans woman. But despite the dominance of the scenes involving the torture, assault, and rape of the women, I want to focus here on the decor of the house they were held captive in.

The house was full of hundreds of vintage dolls.

From the striking image used on the movie poster to the garish aesthetic one can only imagine was inspired by Annabelle, dolls that are painted, dressed, and positioned for use by the woman and the man is central to the plot.

Its the dressing of the sisters in traditional feminine outfits and the application of doll-like makeup to join the other dolls in the house which fits the trope we just can’t escape from.

(No matter how fast we run.)

The Candy Truck Woman, as she is also known, dedicates herself to the process of holding their victims captive and making these women into traditionally feminine objects. It’s the process of creating extreme femininity that defines her role.

Well, that and the portrayal of her trans identity which only goes as emphasising her masculine features. This is embodied by the death of the villain:

Her wig gently slips off her head just before her corpse slumps to the floor.

This suggests that her trans identity is intrinsically linked to her crimes. When she dies, the girls are finally free from her control, and the doll facade ends. She too is apart of the facade. She is reduced to being a bloke in a wig.

The only redeeming feature of this movie?

She is correctly gendered by the credits as the Candy Truck Woman.

*flips through notes*

Yep, that is literally it.

So, why are trans people - specifically trans women - given such roles in the horror genre?

It’s been 60 years.

It’s been 60 years since Psycho earnt its status as the ultimate horror film. But still, to this day, we are presented with horrific portrayals of trans women. It isn’t their acts that define them, however.

If Buffalo Bill was murdering women and comfortable with their gender identity, it would just be another tragic tale of a brutal act. Buffalo Bill is horrifying because they dress like a woman and then commit the acts.

Unfortunately, this link ultimately suggests that those that identify as trans either are or can become mentally unhinged. From there it’s a short trip to becoming obsessed with gender and whoops they’re cold-blooded killers!

And for the uninformed, this almost appears to follow basic logic.

Take me as an example - I’m a cisgender woman. 

Because I am not trans, I do not know what it is like to feel like I was born in the wrong body. It’s hard to understand how it is to be trans when one is not. However, just because I don’t fully understand it because I have not experienced it does not mean trans feelings, experiences, and rights do not matter.

To many, this lack of understanding - especially in past eras when being trans was labelled with far more outdated terms and concepts like ��transvestites’ - can feel uncomfortable. This is what horror preys on.

You don’t always need a jumpscare to be afraid.

You don’t actually require a demonic nun to keep you from turning the lights out.

By simply being presented with something we don’t quite get, by just seeing something that doesn’t quite click in our brains, we are immediately made uncomfortable.

And that can make us afraid instinctively.

The only way to overcome this fear is, well, to face it! Ultimately, this can be reduced back to the lack of representation and awareness of trans issues and trans rights.

It’s time to talk about Insidious (2010).

Outdated tropes are just that - they are outdated.

They belong back in decades gone by. They no longer make sense in our society.

But the problem with the demonisation of trans women is that it is still shipped out via the big screen. And Ghostland is not the only offender.

Insidious will always be one of my favourite horror universes. And yet it was the first to show me how the horror genre is still propagating the same image of trans women.

One of the most iconic monsters in the franchise is that of Parker Crane, the spirit of a serial killer who was forced to adopt a female identity by his mother as a child. Her abusive actions result in him murdering innocent women while dressed as a woman.

Sure, Insidious pins his murderous actions less on their gender identity and more on the abusive actions of his mother, but the fact is it’s the same story of a man dressing up as a woman and killing women.

And even the finer details of The Bride in Black’s story are replicated in other movies tapping into the same trope.

Sleepaway Camp (1983) features a similar character to Parker Crane. At the twist ending, we realise that the serial killer is Angela, a supposedly innocent girl at the camp. How do we know this?

Because Angela is revealed to have a penis. And, of course, that means she has to be batshit crazy and a killer.

*eye roll*

Angela was assigned male at birth, and their abusive parents forced them to dress like a girl, just like Parker. But yet again we stumble into another damaging forced narrative that demonises trans women:

As they had a troubled childhood, they were trans. And as they were trans, they were thus a dangerous person.

The filmmakers drive this home further by the final image closing the film: all we see is their female face embodying clear mental instability and their male body. It is meant to be disturbing, it is meant to be shocking. Pull out the pencil, connect the dots, and here we are.

What we see is upsetting, and that means trans people must be, too.

She is yet another ‘bloke in a wig’.

And if that wasn’t enough, Angela also provides us with the final segue into an LGBT-wide problem with the entire film industry.

(Mmhmm, it gets worse.)

Movie plot twists have always been praised, pulled apart, and memified via #edgy humour - they are the lifeblood of the film industry. And pumping through its veins is an eternal struggle to properly represent the LGBT community.

One of the ways that this occurs is that LGBT characters often feature as plot twists. They are there to shock us, to surprise us, to be the punchlines of the jokes.

Gay people are the shock twist when they turn down another character’s advances citing “they just don’t swing that way”. And trans people are the shock twist when they are revealed to be murders.

It’s a simple formula which ignores the fundamental complexity of humanity - and it’s this search for simplicity which stops the fight for equality in its tracks every time. We have to accept that people have experiences beyond our own, and these experiences are complicated and new and confusing and uncomfortable.

But they are real.

And they matter.

Only by addressing this complexity and listening to these real stories can we realise that it’s okay to be wrong and it’s okay to better ourselves via learning.

Okay, fine - so everything’s terrible.

Yes. And it gets worse.

Trans women in horror always follow the aesthetic presented by the concept of the monstrous-feminine, a concept erected by Barbara Creed:

Female monsters are abject beings that are a compilation of all the disgusting parts of being a woman.

You know, like periods and leg hair.

The films called out in this article follow this closely, but present this via extreme contrast between the male and female body. By confirming that they are abject and out-of-place beings, the trans women thus become the ready-made female horror monster - the alternative to the Final Girl.

They’re the Blair Witch, they’re the alien from Alien; but in some bittersweet way, they’re finally seen as the women they are.

However.

This portrayal isn’t exclusive to the horror genre. It’s not even restricted to the big screen.

Horror might have it wrong, but we can do our part to do things right. We need to learn, listen, and discuss how it really is to be trans.

Here are just 6 facts to start the conversation:

Trans women are not destined to be murderers. In fact, there is a day dedicated to those killed by transphobia - the Transgender Day of Remembrance (20th November).

A project dedicated to monitoring the murders of transgender people began in April 2009 due to the significance of transphobic-motivated violence (The Trans Murder Monitoring Project).

Last year was the second deadliest year for trans people on record (The Trans Murder Monitoring Project).

At least 48% of trans people fear using public toilets due to fear of discrimination and harassment (Huffington Post).

At least a third of trans students in higher education have received negative comments or experienced negative behaviour from staff in 2018 (Stonewall).

45% of trans people between the ages of 11 and 19 attempted to commit suicide in 2018 (Stonewall.)

In 2019, at least 26 transgender people were murder with some of the cases clearly inspired by anti-trans bias. Most of the victims were transgender women of colour. (This fact came from @macaronimarine​)

wow wow wow!!! i just finished reading chapter 2 of river lead me home. honestly yeah i agree with you, i love oc! she's definitely having it hard with adjusting and people just aren't sympathetic; we can see it even more in chapter 2 when jin wouldn't even let her explain herself and proceeded to just assume what he thought was going on and not what was actually happening. i was super surprised that jin wasn't going with, but i'm also glad that oc stepped up and was willing to do it on her own.

BUT in the interest of fairness I think it’s time to defend poor Jin. Because now the scales have tipped- everyone loves OC but can’t believe how horrible Jin is! And to be honest, he is a bit mean, but let’s try and see thinngs from his POV.

It is extremely hard and exhausting being a caretaker and Jin has had to do it since he was a 14 year old refugee. Compassion fatigue is real, and Jin has been doing his best for YN since they were kids!!! Imagine that!! Being a literal child and having to emotionally support your devastated best friend. He’s coming from a place of hurt- it’s really painful to see someone you love and care about constantly make bad decisions and I thibk he lashes out because he’s reached that stage where nothing works. Nothing he says make things better. No actuon helps her. He just can’t get through to her. So yes, he’s said some mean things, but the mean things (while in no way justified) are being said because he doesn’t know how else to act. Even where he lashes out in this chapter- it’s because he thought she was just leaving without saying a word! Imagine how much that would hurt- your best friend just leaving without even bothering to say goodbye. For all he knew, he woild have spent the rest of his life wondering what happened to her and grieving her loss because she didn’t have the decency to say goodbye. And that’s not even factoring in OTHER things in Jin’s life- sacrificing friends, a social life to clean up her messes. He works in the ED! My guy is coming home from 18 hour shifts of pure chaos and then having to make a meal for OC, or drive to the police starion to pick her up. Yeah, it seems like he wants OC to suppress berself but there are far healthier and better ways for her to live out her “guardian”-ness. She could be a first responder or a firefighter or something. She can still save and help people without resorting to vigilante justice- look at Jin. He’s a doctor!! He found a healthy way to honour his culture without bringing stress and pain to the people he cares about.

And we know how hard things are for OC because we’re in her head. We know her every thought and feeling. But don’t forget that not every emotion OC inteprets is true. Just because it looks like Jin isnindifferent to OC it doesn’t mean he is. I sometimes do things where I’ll describe Jin’s expression and interpret it, but I’ll intepret it through OC’s eyes because i think it makes the story kore interesting. So don’t always trust what she sees and feels.

Laslty, OC’s mother. Let’s not forget that they came to this realm with literally nothing. She was a widow who had lost her husband barely 12 hours before and then had to step into an entirely new workd and support an emotionally devastated 11 year old child!!! Imagine how hard thst is!!! And so yeah, she kept her engagement from OC until the last minute but that’s bexuase she knew it would hurt her. I’m not saying it’s right, but still.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, as much as I love and adore OC, she is no martyr. She’s done things wrong just as much as everyone else, but the great rhing ahout her is she’s trying her danged hardest to fix it. And hopefully I do Jin justice, but just like OC, I have plans for him to learn and grow (although it is a frustratingly long, painful road. Don’t forget this fic is nearly 70k LOL)

And yeah! I didn’t realise it would be a big plot twist that Jin chooses not to go with, but it just made sense, you know? Their relationship is honestly in tatters. Why would he go with her given the current state of things? But as you can probably tell... jin’s role is in no way finished ehehe... stay tuned for next week (unless u get sick of this fic which is totally fine 🥺)

I seem to have lost the ask where someone requested an Umbrella Academy AU, but anyway here goes.

They’re different from what Jake was expecting, and yet in many ways they’re just the same.  Marco’s still tight-lipped and wild-eyed, a few new tattoos and several new track marks not changing his swagger or his smile.  Cassie’s the only one who thought to wear black, but then she’s always preferred clothing that’s easy to match.  Jake realizes after a second that he’s waiting still for someone else, and yet that’s it.  That’s all that’s left of them these days.  Rachel’s dead.  Five is... gone, probably for good.  Tobias was probably never going to show.  There’s only three of them, where once there were six.  They’re orphans, now, or maybe they always were.

“Shouldn’t we wait for Tobias?” Cassie asks, as they sit and stare at the urn of their father’s ashes.  “Just to make sure we’re all here?”  Imploring, she looks at Mom.

Grace shifts slightly, servos whirring.  “Your father’s will didn’t specifically mention Tobias.”

Marco sighs loudly.  “Of course not.  Did anyone even call him, let him know that the old bastard kicked it?”  He turns his head, looking at apparent thin air.  “Yeah, okay.”  He turns back to Jake and Cassie.  “Rachel’s with me, that we should wait.  See if he shows.”

Jake shrugs.  Their whole lives, Tobias seemed kind of... aloof.  Distant.  Stuck halfway out of their world, cast into the shadows.  And then Five disappeared, and Rachel died, and it was like his last links to this family had been severed.  Might as well run off.  Might as well get rich off a tell-all that spilled their most personal selves across the page: Cassie’s desperation for love and connection, Marco’s endless self-loathing chatter, Jake’s single-minded devotion, Rachel’s petty tyranny, Five’s wandering between times and selves and states of existence.

“Alternately, we could just have Big Jake chuck Dad in the ground before fucking back off to space,” Marco suggests.  “After all, Number One’s the only one the old coot ever really liked —”

“Marco.”  Cassie’s voice is quiet but severe.  “He’s been dead two days.  A little respect wouldn’t be the worst thing, right?”

“Yeah, yeah, like being dead is an accomplishment.”  Marco’s head snaps around.  “Well ex-cuuuuse me.  We’ll just have to get you a medal then.”

Jake feels his mouth tighten.  Marco claims to talk to Rachel.  Too bad for all of them that Marco’s always been so damn good at bullshitting, because now there’s really no saying what the truth is.

Jake hopes—  He wants—  He wants what’ll make Rachel happy, whatever that might look like now.

Cassie smiles.  “Thanks, Rachel.  Let’s wait for Tobias.”

Jake’s about to agree when a fucking portal opens in the middle of the backyard and spits a thirteen-year-old version of Number Five onto the lawn.

Jake perches gingerly on the edge of Number Five’s bed; the frame groans but holds.  Watching Five teleport around the room, eating and talking and packing all at once, dressed like that, looking like he does... It’s a discomfiting echo of an earlier time.  Before Cassie ran away.  Before Rachel’s career blew up, and then her trailer did as well.  Before Tobias became so quiet, and Marco got so loud.

Jake clears his throat.  “Five...”

Five swallows a wad of marshmallow and peanut butter.  “Ax.  At the Commission they called me Ax, and I know how you feel about titles and codenames.”

Weird name.  Violent.  “Ax, then,” Jake says.  “When you say that the world’s ending in six days...”

Ax clips a sickle to his belt.  “Six of your days, yes.”  With no further explanation, he disappears with a faint whoosh of air.

Cassie knows who it is from the unsteady rattle of the knock, even before she opens the door a crack.  Marco’s in a bad way today, pale and sweating with the darting gaze that tells her he’s seeing people that the rest of them can’t perceive.  “Hi,” she says softly, and then, “One sec.”

She shuts the door, hurrying through the one-room apartment to shove everything not bolted down — combat knives and scalpels, syringes and knick-knacks — into the lockbox under her bed.  Marco’s her brother and she’ll take him in no matter what, but that doesn’t mean she’ll tolerate her stuff getting stolen.  He might be (might be) clean now, but it never lasts.

Marco has to know what she’s doing, but he doesn’t comment when she lets him in.  Instead he smiles at her, soft and wavering, and says “How’s fighting the good fight these days?”

Coming from him, the question is just a little bit sarcastic, just a little bit mean.  Cassie’s not a real cop, not a real anything.  Even vet tech school wouldn’t have her, given her nonexistent formal education, so it’s just as well that she doesn’t mind cleaning the humane shelter’s cages and exercising its dogs in exchange for the apartment upstairs and enough cash to keep her alive.

“Detective Patch told me just the other day that she appreciates my help, thank you for asking,” Cassie says.

Marco raises his eyebrows, smirking.  “So you two…?”

“Still broken up, and we’re both happier that way.”  Eager to change the subject, Cassie shifts away to sit on the bed.  “How’s…?”  They don’t talk about Rachel.  It discomfits them all, especially Rachel.  “Any luck with Dad?” she says instead.

Marco purses his lips.  “So far so good.”  Meaning no word.  “If I ever do hear from him, I’ll be sure to tell him that at least his Numbers Two and One are doing him proud.”

That one was definitely sarcastic, definitely mean.  Cassie stands to walk across the room rather than answering.  She opens the mini-fridge next to the stairs, setting aside a tray of frozen feeder mice to find a can of soda that she brings back to Marco.

“Have you ever considered that maybe using my powers isn’t about Dad?” she says at last.  “That maybe I do it for me, or for Patch, or, I don’t know, for the people I can help by actually using the things we learned?”

Marco turns the can over in his hands, frowning.  Caffeine’s the strongest drug he’s going to get on these premises, which makes Cassie like to think that he comes for the company.  “And Jake?  Why’s he still keeping calm and carrying on, all the way to the moon and back?”

“Jake…”  Cassie sits across from him.  Jake never learned to put what he has to other uses, the way she learned to use her knives for good or Rachel turned her skillful voice toward a surprisingly lucrative film career.  “Jake doesn’t know what else to do, I think sometimes.  Not that any of us do, really.”

It’s not Marco’s fault.  He is the way he is because of their dad.  Because of his power.  Because he was, like Jake, never given another way out.  “Hush, you,” he says to someone that Cassie cannot hear.  “That’s bullshit and you know it.”

“Is that Rachel’s... um.”  Jake stalls midsentence, apparently for lack of a word for the garment that Marco is currently wearing.

“Don’t worry, I got her permission to borrow it.”  Marco flicks a handful of fringe at Jake.  “She’d eviscerate me if I didn’t.”

“Anyway, the end of the world,” Ax says.  “Whirrrrl-ed.  Huh.”  He’s two margaritas deep already and seems to have overestimated his own tolerance.  He’s always been a hedonist, but Cassie is worried to see that this adult version has switched from pastries to hard liquor.  “I bought us some time, three of your days, but we need to find Taylor Preston and kill her before she does...”  He giggles.  “Something bad.  I couldn’t get any details about what, exactly.”

“What?”  Marco looks at presumably-Rachel.  “No, no one bothered to call Tobias.  This is superhero crap, not the usual family drama.”

“So this Taylor person causes the end of the world,” Jake says.  “But she’s innocent.  We can’t kill her for something she didn’t do.”

“All of you will die if we don’t find her in time,” Ax says.  “And the rest of the world too, including Taylor.”

“Rachel says she’s so very glad to hear the Commission got to you so thoroughly, Ax.”  Marco traces his own lifeline between the lines of one tattoo, not bothering to look up at them.

“Let’s find Taylor, and try and talk to her.”  Cassie glances around at them all.  “It’s a start anyway.”

“Very well.”  Ax pushes to his feet, staggering slightly.  “And if it’s not too much trouble, I would like someone to call Tobias in.  I...”  For the first time, he looks just the tiniest bit vulnerable.  “I would like to see him one more time, if this is to be the end.”

“You’re quiet,” Jake comments.  It’s true; he’s barely heard a word out of Marco all afternoon.  Normally there’s no shutting him up.  Marco doesn’t answer, opting to continue to stare out the window and clutch at whichever pendant he’s wearing around his neck today.

Jake tries again.  “Marco.  You all right?”

Slowly Marco turns, hand clenched around his necklace.  He takes a second to orient to Jake’s face.  “You ever been to South Vietnam?” he asks at last.

“Um, no,” Jake says.

Marco smiles sadly.  “Spaceboy’s been to two planets, four satellites, and zero Vietnams.  Should’ve known.”

“I think there’s only the one,” Jake says.  Presumably, this is all heading toward a point.  “Is it... nice, there?”

“Course not.  Full of dead Americans.”  Marco turns back to the window.  “Actually, that’s probably not true anymore.  They tend to, uh, disperse?  I guess.  After a while.  And there’s only one now.  Any idea which one survived?”

Jake takes a breath, letting it out slowly.  He loves Marco, he does, but there are also times when he needs Cassie around to translate the.. Séance-ness.  “Which... Vietnam?”

“I guess it doesn’t matter now.  Fucking everybody lost that war, huh?”

“I just wish you’d tell me what’s wrong,” Jake blurts.

“What’s wrong?”  Marco spins, grinning suddenly.  “What’s wrong is that the world’s ending in less than a week, little bro, and you haven’t even lived yet!”  He releases the necklace to clap his hands, rubbing his palms together.  “I mean, have you ever even had alcohol?  Ever ever?”

“‘Little bro?’” Jake says, dodging the real question.

“I’m the second oldest now, time travel’s a bitch, what’s important is that you —”  He pokes Jake in the chest.  “Have got to get your jacket and your car keys, Goody Two Shoes, because we are hitting the bars now before the apocalypse catches us.”

“Can’t we just, like, raid Dad’s liquor cabinet?”

“Sadly, Ax got there first.  And judging by what he did to the coffee, the peanut butter, and the corn syrup — straight from the bottle! — there’s going to be slim pickings left for you and me.  Nope, we are headed to a bar, we’re going to get you, hmmm, six or seven Long Island Iced Teas should probably take the edge off even for a thicc bod like yours, and if you’re feeling some pot or some E later on tonight, then who am I to stop you.”

Well, Jake figures as he heads for his coat, at least Marco’s talking again.  That’s something.

“Just like... old times... huh?”  Marco pants, struggling for breath.  Ax is not sure if Marco’s addressing him or Tobias or someone already dead.  He’s too busy grabbing more pool balls off the table to reload where Cassie’s chucking them around the corner.  The Commission sent several dozen of their best this time, and Ax would be honored if he wasn’t so terrified for his whole family.

“Ax, take Tobias and run for it!” Jake calls from the next room over.  There’s an unpleasant wet tearing sound of him separating one or more limbs from someone’s torso by force.  “You two are no good to us here!”

“Yep,” Tobias says, mouth pressed in a grim line.  “Just like old times.”

Cassie swipes the back of one hand across her nose, grimacing when it comes away wet with blood.  “You know... he didn’t mean...”  She whips around, hurling an eight ball that impacts someone’s skull with a thunk.

“Where’s Marco?” Tobias says.

Ax looks around wildly, but he’s gone.  Taken, or worse.

Bullets chew the wood above their heads, showering them with splinters.  The assassins are gaining ground.  Cassie and Ax aren’t enough to hold them back.

There are too many of them.  There are simply too many.  They can’t win this fight, not with only the five — or four — of them, not when Tobias can’t do much of anything to help...

“Go, and I’ll hold them off!” Jake shouts, because of course he does.  “Just get out of here, all of you, and I’ll —”

There’s a wall-rattling thud as he goes down.  Ax pops out there, pops back immediately; there’s no way in hell he can lift Jake, not in this child’s body.  Better to draw as much of the fire away from him as possible, and then... and then...

They’re pinned down.  Underequipped.  Outnumbered.  Maybe they’re all going to end up like Rachel, and if Marco’s still alive out there somewhere then they’ll spend the rest of eternity yammering away at him from the beyond.

Which is when the Manor’s intercom crackles to life.

“I heard a rumor,” says a strangely doubled voice that is both Marco’s and not, “that you all stopped fighting and instead talked about your feelings like actual goddamn adults.”

Things get a little fuzzy after that, but the next thing Ax knows he’s sitting in a circle on the floor with the rest of his siblings.  All of them.  Rachel’s sitting there, translucent and flickering and weirdly synchronized with Marco’s movements, but he can see her, he can hear her, and...

“...I think what I really wanted, deep down, was the chance just to be a decent person,” Jake’s saying, tears in his eyes.  “Not a hero.  Not an explorer.  Just a guy who could get through the day and do the right thing without all this goddamn responsibility.”

All of the Commission assassins — who have formed a circle of their own, a little away from the Hargreeveses — break into murmurs of agreement.

“Ax?” Rachel says.

She heard a rumor that he’d talk about his feelings, which is why Ax feels an enormous rush of relief to let it out.  “I always wanted to live up to your expectations,” he tells Jake.  He turns to Rachel.  “And I wanted to be closer to you.”  To Marco.  “And I always thought it was a load of crap that Dad put so much pressure on you, but I can see now that I was too caught up in my own rebellion to support yours.”  To Cassie.  “You were right about Mom.”

Last he turns to Tobias.  “You’re the best friend I’ve ever had,” he says.  “You mean more to me than I know how to express, and what you have, who you are... That’s more than any superpower will ever be.”

Tobias swallows hard.  He nods once, apparently not trusting his own voice.

“My turn,” Rachel says.  “Because I have some feelings about what it’s been like watching you all beat yourselves and each other up for all of these years.  You’re all so stupid.  You’re self-centered and stubborn and... and I love you pack of losers so much.”  She sighs, settling halfway into the carpet.

“There’s a comet.”

They all turn to look at Tobias, who quails a little under the sudden attention.  Rachel reaches out and puts a hand on his shoulder.  Ax rubs their knees together.

“There’s a comet,” Tobias says, gathering strength.  “It’s going to hit the Earth tomorrow.  The whole planet will be knocked off axis and all life will be annihilated in a matter of hours.”

Jake frowns.  “But we know about this.  The government space program attached a bomb to a rover...”

“And I disabled it.”

They all gape at Tobias.

“How?” Rachel says.

“I, uh.”  Tobias holds up a hand.  “I can’t really control it that well, but...”  He snaps his fingers.

Rain falls steadily.  They’re inside.  It’s a sunny day.  But Ax’s hair is getting wet, his skin is cold with the slickness of it, and there are even clouds overhead.

Jake scrambles to his feet, mouth open in shock.

“Yeah.”  Tobias shrugs.  The rain disappears.  “I can change reality sometimes.  And I just figured it was time, y’know?  Like humans have been around long enough, and we’re at risk of breaking out of this planet.  Better to contain the virus before it spreads.”

Ax chills.  It’s close, closer than he likes, to everything he argued in favor of killing Taylor.

The silence echoes.  It thunders.

“Being dead is overrated.”  Rachel’s voice is ethereal, ephemeral, eternal.  “Might as well live.”  And then she puts her arms around Tobias and pulls him close.

“Who knows.”  Ax takes one of Tobias’s hands in both of his.  “Humans might pleasantly surprise you, for once.”

Tobias folds forward in their grip.  The first spasm that goes through him is all it takes; the sobs follow faster and faster after that.

It takes a moment of focus.  A moment of intent.  The opposite of anger; love.  It takes Rachel growling at the others to give him some space, Marco singing under his breath, Ax mumbling equations and Cassie holding Jake back from micromanaging them all.

A light blinks on.  An ordinance is armed.

The Earth keeps spinning, and circling, and growing as scheduled.

They go to Griddy’s Doughnuts, afterward.  It’s back, like nothing ever happened.  None of them are quite sure what just happened back there, but they’re hungry and they’re confused and they’re all exhausted beyond all reason.  They get some looks, between Jake’s reality-distorting size and Cassie’s intermittent nosebleed and Marco’s flak jacket overtop a muumuu and Ax’s school uniform and Tobias’s white irises and the fact that Rachel only exists to the five of them.  But they get coffee and doughnuts too, because apparently they’re not too weird for the waitstaff to tolerate.

“So... did we just save the world?” Tobias asks softly.

Ax tilts his head back, chugging the last few ounces of his third vanilla latte.  “It would appear so, yes.  I had not fully calculated the odds of our success beyond the second or third decimal place, but the approximate percent —”

“Doesn’t matter,” Rachel says.

Cassie leans against the counter next to Jake, looking down the line of her siblings arrayed on the spin-top chrome stools.  “So, what now?” she asks.

Before Jake can answer, a woman taps him on the shoulder.  “Excuse me, sir, ma’am?”  She looks between him and Cassie.  “I know it’s really not my place, but...”  She leans around Jake and Cassie to direct a pointed stare at Ax.  “Should you really be letting your son have that much coffee?”

“Our what?”  Jake turns to follow the direction of her gaze.  “Oh, our son!” he says loudly.  “As in, the child that we gave birth to.  After being pregnant.  Because that’s how normal thirteen-year-olds come into existence.  And Ax is perfectly normal, and he’s our son.  Who is thirteen.  Obviously.”

Anyone in the doughnut shop who wasn’t already staring at them is definitely doing so now.  Cassie attempts a charming smile.

The busybody sniffs, apparently uncharmed.  “As I was saying, he’s very young to be drinking so much coffee, don’t you think?”

“Coffee... has energy,” Cassie offers.  “And he’s a growing boy.  And growing requires energy.  So caffeine is good.”

The woman continues to look between her and Jake, mouth halfway open, eyebrows drawn tight together.  Jake and Cassie continue to smile politely back at her.

Finally, she turns around and walks away.

“You two fuckin nailed that one,” Rachel drawls.  “I don’t think she suspected a thing.”  She’s snuggled up against Tobias.  Marco is lost somewhere in the cuddle puddle too.

Cassie laughs, which she seems to do every time Rachel speaks where they can all hear.  They need it.  They all do.  And the rest of the world can go screw itself, because this, right here, all of them... This is enough.

Day 3: Delirium

Klaus knew he was in trouble.

He had overdosed again. He tried to stay clean, for Ben and Vanya, for his other siblings, and for Dave. He so very much wanted to see Dave.

 But. He tried, okay. Tried so very fucking hard, and everyone was so focussed on Vanya that his efforts weren’t exactly…supported. Ben, of course, knew. And Klaus was grateful to have him. And he didn’t really blame everyone for not paying attention to him. They never really did that in the first place, unless he was causing trouble. And this time, it was because Vanya had nearly ended the world and he got that. He really did. He was trying to be there for them.

 But. He was an addict, okay. He can admit that. And…it was so hard to stay clean. He was so fucking high right now. He was so fucking sick right now. And Ben was yelling at him again.

 “Fuck! I can’t do this again, Klaus! You were doing so well! Fuck! I can’t even pick up the phone to call the ambulance can I! No! You are going to die in this alleyway and then I’m going to have nobody to talk to and, and, and you can’t leave me alone! Please, Klaus, please! Shit, okay, I’m going to try and get help, okay? I’m going to try.”

 Klaus felt himself drift. Ben was still talking, but then suddenly everything was quiet. He didn’t really get how he could still hear Ben with all the drugs in his system, but the other spirits had quieted down. And now, finally, Ben was gone too. He was going to die alone. Like he fucking deserved. His eyes shut, closing over tears that never fell and let the fog take him…

 Next thing he knew there was something licking his face. Okay, still alive. Still dying. Probably. He opened his eyes.

 Well. Where was he? This wasn’t the alleyway anymore. Maybe he wasn’t dying and he was already dead. But this wasn’t heaven. This was…he wasn’t sure. There were explosions of colours and shapes twisting in and out of existence and he felt simultaneously the highest he’s ever been and stone cold sober. He felt like he was awake and dreaming at the same time.

 And in the midst of all this madness, there was a rather ordinary looking dog, who was licking his face.

 “Well, hey there, boy. You wouldn’t happen to know the way back to reality now, would you?”

 He didn’t know what to expect at this point. And yet it still startled him when the dog stopped licking his face and spoke back. “Ah. You’re awake. Good. You don’t taste very good.”

 Klaus frowned. “Actually, I’m a snack. A delicious- wait. I’m…awake.” He sits up and looks around. Nothing was solid. There was no up and no down and he had no clue what he was sitting on because reality kept changing. Okay, he was definitely going crazy. “I don’t think I’m awake.”

 “Hm. Well. In a manner of speaking. And in another, you’re dead.”

 “Huh.”

 “You don’t sound surprised.”

 “Well, I’ve been dead before. And really, I was asking for it anyways.”

 The dog tilted its head, considering him, “I should be more specific. You’re only mostly dead, this time. This isn’t Death’s realm, but her sister’s.”

 “…mostly dead? What am I? The man in black now?” Klaus hadn’t seen the movie until his teens, when he was homeless and couch-surfing. Or rather bed-surfing. And old lover had the movie on VHS.

 “I don’t know what that means.” The dog huffed and then said, “I’m Barnabas, by the way. Not that you asked.”

 “Aw, what an adorable name!” Klaus tried to pet him, but Barnabas looked mildly offended and ducked his head away. He looked like he was about to say something snippy when a bunch of brightly coloured fish swam past his head. Klaus had been trying to ignore his surroundings for the sake of his own sanity, but this caught his attention.

 And then the…strangest voice followed after. “Ohhh, fishies! Come back here! …Hi, Barnabas!” He couldn’t really describe it. He could understand it, and for the most part it sounded like a young women’s voice, but something was distinctly…otherworldly. The voice sounded how this world looked. Chaotic, ever-changing, pitches and stresses in all the wrong places. It would have been called musical, if it wasn’t so discordant.

 And then a figure stepped out of the swirls of colours and then he realised that nothing was ever going to make sense in here. She was colourful herself. Rainbow hair cut in an odd style. Two different coloured eyes and the oddest combination of clothes.

 Though, honestly, he couldn’t say anything about his clothes. Currently, he was sporting the same outfit he wore in the real world and, frankly, wasn’t to off from this figure’s choice of clothes.

 Well, at least they had something in common. “Nice shoes,” he tries.

 The woman (girl? Young lady?) was talking to the dog and the fish, but turned to him at the sound of his voice. She drifted closer and peered down at him.

 “Well, hello there, traveler. You seem a little lost.”

 Klaus shrugged. She giggled. “Welllll, I suppose that’s, uh, that’s what you call life, now, isn’t it? Just a little bit lost and a lot bit lost! Go-ing on Forever!”

 Barnabas came a bit closer to her, to sit beside her, not quite touching, but close. Like he meant to offer her comfort. She absentmindedly scratched his ears, but still didn’t look away from Klaus. Oh, was he supposed to offer a reply?

“Well, I’m hoping that’s not the case. I’ve been trying, lately, you see, to settle down a bit. Stay clean and, y’know, be there for my family. Try to…have a home, a proper one.” His voice grew more unsure as he continued to speak.

 She was staring at him as he spoke, but not in his eyes. Just looking there briefly and then looking at his shirt and then his hair. Listening, but just couldn’t keep completely still. As she did, her nail polish changed colour and her ears changed shape and the rainbow in her hair shifted. This whole place was topsy-turvy. Strange how a talking dog named Barnabas was the sanest thing in here.

 She looked back up briefly into his eyes and then down at her feet. “It’s Nice to do things for fa-mi-ly. I have many Siblings too. I like to help them sometimes. You said I have nice shoes. Would you like to wear them? We can trade!”

 “Um.” Klaus wasn’t really sure what to say. “I don’t think our feet are the same size?”

 She frowned. “Oh, what does that matter? Its just for fuunnn. C’mon!” And she proceeded to take off her shoes. Which, were just as colourful as her hair. Rainbow boots that had really neat buckles shaped like the fish that swam around their heads.

 His were a solid black heel, stolen from Allison. They pinched his toes, not being the proper size, but they made his legs look gorgeous.

 Allison probably wasn’t going to be happy to learn her shoes were traded away, but then again, she probably wasn’t going to be happy with him either way. If he ever made it back, that is.

 He decided he should probably say all that out loud, and then he did, because they really weren’t his shoes, but the girl in front of him just sat down to better take of her shoes. “Oh, you’ll get out of Here eventu-ally. I like you, but you’re not mine to keep.” She finally managed to pull off both her boots. She was wearing mismatched socks, but those seemed to vanish. “And your family is just worried about you. If your sssister is mad, it’s only because she cares. You should ask them for help.”

 He shrugged and easily kicked off his own shoes, accidently kicking it too close to Barnabas. The dog just looked long-suffering.

 “They just think I’m useless and crazy. Well, maybe not Ben, but I’m not exactly doing my best there, y’know? He deserves to follow someone else around. Someone who won’t disappoint him again.”

 The girl hummed. “They say I’m crazzzzy too. But that’s alright. Mad-ness isn’t always a Bad thing….it helps when I know too much. Sometimes its nice to have a break from san-i-ty.” Here she started to slip on the heels and gestured at the boots, so Klaus grabbed one and put it on, stamping a little to get his heel in. Huh. Perfect fit. She continued, “And just because I’m mad, doesn’t mean my siblings don’t care about me. Doesn’t mean I don’t care about them. We aallll make mistakes, even Beings such as us, even little ones such as you, and we…oh, shoot, Barnabas! What’s the word? The- the Big one.”

 She glanced around as if the word she was looking for would suddenly appear. “You know. When the butterflies are iiiinn your body instead of outside them. Like stepping off the edge of a cliff, but knowing there is Someone to catch you, or for you to catch them.”

 Barnabas opened his mouth to say something, but she snapped her fingers (which made Klaus do a doubletake when the snap sound created visual shockwaves of colour, like they were in some sort of comic book), and then said, “Oh! Love! It’s lo-ve. We all love each other the same. They loved me when I was Delight, and they still love me as Delirium. I mean, look at Bar-na-bas!” She gestured with a heel in her hand. The dog sat a little straighter. “He was a gift to me from one of my bro-thers, to care and look afterrr me, and we’ve become such good friends! Destruction cares in his own way, and I know your siblings do too. You just got-ta….gotta ask, okay?”

 Barnabas smiled slightly. It looked a bit weird on a dog, but it seemed gentle. “I think we are the very best friends, my dear Delirium.”

 She put the other heel on and bounced up onto them, smiling at them both, at the world around them, at the tiny fish swimming above her head. The black of the heels swirled with spots of colour, but mostly stayed the same.

 Klaus finished doing up the buckles on both shoes and stood up too. He reached a hand up and the fish swam through his fingers and around his arm. The rainbow shoes felt warm and comfortable on his feet. He felt a bit giddy. He gave her a big grin and said, “Yeah. Okay. Sure. If I ever manage to get out of here, I’ll ask. Why not!”

 She gave him a grin in return. To match. Though hers stretched a little too far on her face. Still friendly, but not exactly a human smile. Her eyes changed colours too, but never the same colours at the same time. A fish swam in front of her face and this distracted her from him.

 “Well, how do I get out of here anyways? Not that I don’t mind your company, I should be getting back to the real world.”

 She looked back at him and seemed to startle a little bit. “Ohhhh, what were we talking about?”

 He blinked and looked at her and then looked at Barnabas, who said to her, in a reassuring manner, “It wasn’t important. Klaus was leaving soon anyways.”

 “Hm. My he-ad hurts. Was I talking Rightly again? That always Hurts.”

 “Yes, Delirium, but you don’t have to anymore. Why don’t we help Klaus go home and then play with the fish?”

 Klaus frowned at Barnabas in confusion. Delirium laughed joyfully and said, “Well, hell yeah! There’s only a few swimming around, buuuut I can make more!” She proceeded to spin around and do exactly that.

 Barnabas sidled closer to Klaus and said, “She does that, sometimes.”

 “What? Forgets?”

 “No. Remembers. The advice she gave you? How coherent she spoke? Does not happen often. You should take heed. The knowledge she has…is vast. So vast that it seems to…hurt her. Now, it’s time for you to go.” He didn’t say this roughly, but there was a sadness when he spoke.

 “Thanks,” Klaus said, heartfelt. “And thank her for me, too, even if she doesn’t remember.”

 Delirium wandered back over with a great many more fish swimming around, some bigger than others. Some so small he could barely see in the swirl of colours and shapes. “Oh yes! You!” She tapped him firmly on the forehead and said, “Say the magic words!”

 “Um, please-”

 “Wrong, so wrong. Try again.” And here she clicked her new heels three times.

 Klaus couldn’t help it. He laughed. He saw that movie too. And then he copied her action and said the “magic” words, “There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home. There’s no pla-”

 And then he was in an ambulance, the paramedic’s expression triumphant and relieved. Ben, hovering over him on the other side, looked similar.

 “Klaus, don’t ever do that to me again. You are so lucky there was this goth lady around. Apparently, you aren’t the only one that can speak to the dead. She was pretty Zen about the whole thing. Said it wasn’t your time and managed to find a nearby payphone. She didn’t even ask why I couldn’t call the ambulance myself!”

 Ben sounded a bit hysterical. The paramedic seemed to be chattering away as he checked Klaus’ vitals. Klaus felt himself tearing up. He could still feel the drugs in his system. “I’m so sorry, Ben. I can’t do this-”

 “C’mon, Klaus! I know you’re stronger- what about Dave-”

 “No, shit, Ben, just- I can’t do this alone, okay? I-I really need. I need help. I want to stay clean. Please. I just- please. I can’t do this alone.”

 The paramedic wasn’t paying attention to his babble, too focussed on actually keeping him alive, but Ben was listening intently. He tried to lay his hand on Klaus’ shoulder, but his hand passed through. Klaus shivered. Ben looked disappointed, but not surprised. He settled for leaning over, close to Klaus’ face, and said, “Never, Klaus. I’m here, okay. And the others…we’ll ask for help from them too. We’re all trying to be a family, right? And….and whatever you need.”

 Klaus felt tears in his eyes and with a rough voice he said, “Thank you, Ben. I always knew you were my favourite brother.”

 Ben rolled his eyes, but a smile tugged the corner of his lips. “Oh, please. I’ll remember that next time you say that to any of our other siblings.”

 “Why would Allison or Vanya be my favourite brother?”

 “Fuck off, you know what I meant.” Okay, definitely a smile now.

 And then Ben happened to glance at his feet. “Klaus, where the hell did you get those?”

 Klaus looked at his feet and saw that he wasn’t wearing Allison’s heels, but rainbow boots. Huh. So not a drug-induced dream.

 “Klaus?”

 “I’ve been thinking, Ben.”

 “Oh no. I didn’t know you could do that.” He gestured at the boots. “Are you not going to answer?”

 Klaus ignored him and stared at the boots. “I’ve been wondering if they might allow aquariums in rehab.”

 Ben stared at him a little. But he was also long used to Klaus saying weird stuff. “Well. If we manage to use some of dad’s fortune for rehab, they’ll allow us as many fish as we want. If…if that’s what you wanted the aquarium for.”

 It was…so fucking nice to hear Ben using “us” and “we” like that. He knew Ben was stuck with him, but it felt…. like he wasn’t alone. That Ben meant it. That he was going to have help this time, from the whole family. And if they used dear old dad’s money…well. That would be icing on the cake. Petty? Yes. Deserved, even beyond the grave? Hell yes. He’s glad that he didn’t have another visit from him. He doesn’t think he could stand anymore revelations or disappointment from him. He’d take a bizarre realm of multi-coloured girls and fish and talking dogs any day.

 Though, he really didn’t want to go back any time soon. Being mostly dead was exhausting.

 “Yeah, Ben, fish. Lots of colourful fish.” His voice sounded further away, like hearing himself through a long tunnel. Klaus could feel his eyes droop closed.

 Ben laughed softly. “Anything you need, Klaus. Have some nice dreams for me, will you?” Klaus’ eyes were closed, but for a flash, he thought he saw someone above him. He couldn’t see features, just a strange helmet and black robes. A pale hand sprinkled shining dust onto him. Onto his closed eyes. And then the figure was gone.

  And he swore, right before he drifted off to sleep, that he felt Ben’s hand on his shoulder. But then again, it could have just been his imagination.

That’s why I’m not so happy with it…I dunno about others, though.

The “My Name is Gon” title is a reference to “I Am a Cat” (Wahagai wa Neko de Aru). It actually doesn’t have the word for “name” in there, which is a bit weird…Update: It’s about the day-to-day introspection and life of a cat and the wagahai suggests the cat thinks rather highly of himself, so I’d assume the former (applied to a dog of course), if not both of those things to be part of this.

The fact that Gon doesn’t move his mouth while telling us weird things (such as how Bull’s sweater reminds him of an old lady in Osaka) is hilarious. It’s almost like a play with Gon as narrator.

Miyo Hijiriido?! Oh my gosh! This is new, indeed!

Okay, so the characters for Miyo look like this: 聖井戸 御代 The first character in “Miyo” is the same one that denotes “go” in goryoushin (formal way to denote “parents”) and similar words in keigo. The characters which aren’t “well” (water well) are the character for “saint/holy” and “age” (as in the period of time, alternatively “generation”), aside from the one I’ve already discussed. Therefore, I’d suggest Miyo is actually “the great detective [who ushers in a new] age” or “the great detective [of the current] age”. Update: Apparently Miyo means “age of a ruler”, as in the period of their reign (specifically referring to the emperor if it needs to be). I’ve heard there’s specific words in the Japanese language used only to refer to the imperial family…this is probably one of them. That specific name combo (as “odai”) is also a very polite way to refer to spare change, although that doesn’t seem very useful to know.

What’s that thing on Tamotsu’s wrist…? (A watch? Wouldn’t that be illegal in a prison like this?)

Recipe development was always one of your favorite parts of the job. Inventing some new product that no one else had thought of, testing it out, and then tasting the end result was a satisfying process. Baking was a science and in order for it all to come together, you had to have the right ingredients in the correct amounts. Some people struggled with baking because it required more attention to detail and a lot of patience. You loved it though, every bit of it. Ever since you started making cookies in your mother’s kitchen as a young girl, you felt at home.

In order to avoid wasting time and ingredients, you grabbed a few of your current recipes and took them back to your desk to formulate a plan. After about 20 minutes, you decided to modify a scone recipe and a filled croissant. Having written down your adjustments, you grabbed your bag and told Wanda you’d be back shortly before walking down the street to the market.

Stepping inside the store, you felt your stomach clench at the memory of the last time you were there, that night when you’d run into Jimmy. It was mid-morning, though, and the chances of having a repeat interaction were slim to none. Fetching a basket, you walked down the aisle and selected the ingredients you had in mind before stopping at the cheese department and then checking out.

Back at the bakery, you set out your savory ingredients and got to work. You already had a sweet scone that was selling well in your pastry case. The flavor pairing of tart, zesty orange and rich dark chocolate pieces filling the scone and then drizzled with an orange glaze after baking made for a tantalizing treat.

English scones were much like a crumpet or a buttermilk biscuit, but a little more complex. For the savory version you had in mind, you weighed out your dry ingredients like flour, baking powder, and salt, but reducing the amount of sugar so the other flavors would be more prominent. Cutting up the butter into small cubes, you mixed them into the flour until the butter pieces were the size of peas. Next you slowly added the heavy cream and egg mixed together until it became a dough. Last came the sun-dried tomatoes and cubes of Havarti cheese that would bubble and melt to perfection in the oven. The thought of it made your mouth water.

You turned out the dough onto a floured surface and kneaded it with your hands a few times before patting it into a circle and then cutting that into triangles. You placed each one on a baking sheet, brushed them with cream and sprinkled coarse salt on top before sliding them into the oven. Washing your hands, you cleaned up the table and checked in on Wanda before starting your next project.

The filled croissant combination seemed a little odd, but if it worked out, the taste would be divine. Plucking the pears from your grocery bag, you peeled one of them, halved it, removed the seeds, and then began to slice it thinly. After rolling out a piece of croissant dough and cutting it into long triangles, you spread a small amount of spicy mustard on the wider side, placed a slice of smoked gouda cheese over that, and then layered the thin slices of pear on top. Carefully, you rolled up the croissant and placed it on a baking sheet.

It was easier to adjust and experiment with the croissants, since they were rolled individually. You put more cheese in some, more pears in others and then did a few without the mustard, in case the taste was too overwhelming. You wrote the contents of each one on a piece of parchment in black marker and then brushed them with an egg wash before baking. As the timer went off for the scones, the croissants were ready to go in.

You waited a few minutes before trying the scones and as you glanced at the clock, you were surprised so much time had passed. Caught up in your new experiments, it was a shock to realize it was almost lunchtime. Your internal clock was out of whack anyway, given your extra early wake up call this morning. Just then, your phone chimed so you pulled it out and woke up the screen.

A text from “B”. Seeing the initial pop up on your phone made you smile, and just like this morning, there was an attachment. He seemed to be respecting your desire to keep your interactions anonymous, so you weren’t expecting a selfie or anything. However, you also weren’t expecting a picture of a slice of pizza with the sign for Ruby Rosa’s Pizza. The caption read “Best slice in the city.”

Grinning with a bite of your lip, you pulled up the keyboard to respond.

FG: I might have to fight you on that. Their sauce is much too sweet. I prefer Capizzi’s.

“B” replied with an emoji of a shocked expression with a hand on each cheek.

B: You can’t be serious. Their crust is all wrong! I really thought we could still be friends after the whole Beatles/Stones debacle but this might be the last straw…

Letting out a chuckle you, rested your hip against the table and replied.

FG: If that’s how it is, then so be it. I stand by my pizza. You and your sugary sauce deserve each other. I should have known you’d love it, considering your THREE SUGARS in your coffee.

Those three dots appeared and lingered for a few minutes, so you took that time to taste one of your scones. They were delicious and just as you had hoped, the melted cheese had created delectable little pockets of gooey-ness in the scone, but the sun-dried tomato flavor was much too subtle. It would take at least one more adjusted batch to get it right. You weren’t surprised; sometimes you had to re-make something five times before the recipe was perfect.

B’s response finally arrived.

B: Whew. Alright, alright. We’ll drop the subject for now. I’ll definitely convert you one of these days, though. So how’s your day been?

You felt a flip in your stomach first of all, because it meant that he wanted this…whatever it was…to continue. And honestly, so did you. It had only been a short time, but hearing from him had become the highlight of your day. It didn’t matter that you didn’t know his name or what he looked like, in fact it was part of the fun at this point. Pecking out a reply, you sent it and then made notes on your scone recipe as you awaited his reply.

FG: Day started earlier than I’d like, and ran into that insufferable person but it’s been all uphill since then. :) How about you?

B: Man, can’t that jerk take a hint? Franny doesn’t need any of your dickhead-ed behavior. Especially running on less sleep. ;) I’m sorry that happened again. Need any more distractions? I’m available.

Your heart skipped a beat at that last phrase. He probably didn’t mean it in the way you might have interpreted. Maybe? In fact, since you knew almost nothing about him, it was possible that you were conversing with someone who might be…involved? Married? It was a ridiculous notion, since all you were doing was texting, but there was definitely a flirty tone in your conversations. Or you thought so. It was difficult to tell through text.

Just as you were about to respond, you got a phone call and the name on the screen made your face light up as you answered.

“Hi, dad,” you said with a smile.

“Hey, how’s my little Flour Girl? The big city still treating you alright?” you heard your father’s voice through the phone. You spoke at least twice a week and he always asked how you were getting by in the city, even after living there over a year and half. You loved that he still worried, though, so you just smiled and shook your head.

“The city is fine, dad. The shop is still doing great. How are you?” you asked, peeking in the oven at your croissants at the same time.

“Oh, I’m just fine. Not much changes around here, not like in the city.”

You grinned, knowing how much your dad preferred the quiet, small town life. You told him all about your new savory pastries and everything about the shop, but you held back the information about Barnes Bakery and this new “competition” with Jimmy, or whatever it was. That information would only make your father worry and besides, you had it under control.

Your parents had always been supportive of your career choice, never failing to taste your latest cookies or cake experiments growing up. Some of your first memories were of spending time with your mom in the kitchen. Whenever your dad came home from work, most nights he found you in the kitchen covered in flour. Thus, you became his little Flour Girl. A play on words that also rang true.

When your mom got sick during your senior year of high school, you became obsessed with finding new recipes that would sound good to her and that the doctors would approve. Her passing the following summer left an everlasting hole in your life and heart, but she wanted your dreams to come true, no matter what. She even set aside some money for your bakery in her will, making you even more determined to succeed in her honor. Since then, it had just been you and your dad against the world.

“Well, pumpkin, I better sign off. The boss is giving me the eye,” your father told you after a wonderful, lengthy conversation that you definitely needed.

“Yeah, I better get back to work, too. I love you, dad,” you said, trying to hide the emotion in your voice. His phone calls never failed to make you a little homesick, no matter how much you loved living in the city.

“Love you, too, Y/N. You be careful.”

“I will. Bye.”

Lost in your thoughts after hanging up, you jumped a little when the oven timer went off. Pulling out the croissants, you waited for them to cool before tasting a little bit of each one. Confident that you had found a winning combination, you also had Wanda taste them and select her favorite, which also happened to be the same as yours. Never hurt to have a second opinion. One last test batch of your Sun-dried Tomato and Havarti scones and you felt good about the recipes. Clint was going to be blown away and you’d get your spot back in their pastry case. You were sure of it.

Preparing both the croissants and scones to be baked fresh in the morning, you cleaned up your mess and checked what was needed up front. A few more trays of cookies in the oven and you finally pulled out your phone to respond to B’s text.

FG: Sorry, got interrupted by a phone call and work. But I’ll take a rain check on that distraction.

You read it over one more time, hoping it sounded just a little suggestive but not over the top, and hit send.

B: No problem. Offer still stands. :)

Smiling from ear to ear, you left the conversation there and went about your day with a little more pep in your step.

OooOOOooohh!!!! Don’t those croissants and scones sound delicious?? *heart eyes* I actually do create recipes and change the flavors of baked good as part of my job. It’s pretty fun. :D And now he find out the origin of the “flour girl” nickname!! That’s pretty sweet, right? And a bit of background about why the reader loves to bake. “I win. You just lost. It’s over.” He signed jokingly. Making a mock challenging smile. Des has always been full of sass. Of course with his friends it was playful and he loved that he had that relationship with Ed, that the two could joke around, and Des knew he could come to him during hard times as well. Playfully rolling his eyes he nodded. “Right I got it, it’s all locked away in my mind now. Healthy not too healthy. You know I can just get you some container of ranch dressing.” He signed laughing. “You can put as much of it as you want.” He signed scrunching up his nose in mock disgust.

Des had no idea he would like to cook, if he hadn’t needed to when he was little. He never would have known, the same with music, it was his life line that he came to love. It was what took the place of alcohol , for that he was grateful. The things in his life that were hardships he turned into strengths. He would never have for saw it then, being so young. He simply knew he wasn’t going to be the man his father was. “A surprise yes.” He signed smiling with large gestures. His eyes lit up just discussing it. While Des was not a big fan of surprises he was pleased his friend was. He enjoyed doing things for his friends it it brought a smile to their face and brightened their day, what better way to show Ed how thankful he was for the other. He has been elated when the two became friends, he could have friends. Good friends did exist and the little boy he was then couldn’t wait to share things with him. He had never had anyone to share things with before, and Edgar in his opinion was so friendly, it only increases at the time his hyper ness given how excited he was. His father had told him then if he was magic he was sinister, well if this was sinister, so be it. His eyes widened as she shoved him playfully. “Now you’ve done it. Just wait until you see the surprise now.” He signed narrowing his eyes at him.

Des wasn’t a psychiatrist, but he was excellent at picking up signals, body language and other ques. He was observant, it was another reason investigation fit him so well, and though he knew his friend wasn’t being honest, He wouldn’t press. They weren’t children after all, They had their own methods of coping. Nodding he finger spelled “America.” And grinned.”Really? I’ve thought about it more recently. I like to think that someday I will get there.” He signed smiling. “Write about what I see, things I’ll learn.” He signed shrugging. Note: Each placement/sign is split into mini sections for easier reading. Again, these aren’t flushed out. They’re just my interpretations. There are different component/sides to the sign that I didn’t touch on.

Virgo Sun | 2nd Decan (Saturn/Capricorn)

Ok first of all, he’s a lot harder on himself than we realize and it’s not just because he’s thoughtful (that Libra Mercury) 

With his Sun (ego/esteem) being in Virgo with the sub-ruler in Capricorn/Saturn, he might find himself being pretty self-critical, prone to putting himself down/talking to himself in order to ‘snap himself out of it’/understand himself better.

Understanding that Saturn brings a disciplinarian attitude. Sometimes towards their external environment (Capricorn) and to themselves (Virgo). 

They tend to be pretty hard-headed (stubborn) when faced with opposition/challenges in life because there’s always that sense of confronting/overcoming the adversaries in order to feel accomplished in themselves

Sun-ego/self-esteem/sense of self is tied into this ‘serious’ undertone Capricorn/Saturn brings. Demonstrated into an attitude towards work, that is more somber (in tone) when he’s working towards accomplishments/achievements he wants to have/create. 

It’s part of the reason why he has a very humbling acceptance/response to his successes. He’s always very tenacious/driven about doing the actual back work, so the result/rewards of the progress is balanced through Virgo’s modest, calmer charm. (Capricorn cardinal pushing for his successes, Virgo mutable gracefully and tactfully accepting those successes. Sun-decan)    

Virgo also has a sturdiness that is tinted from Capricorn/Saturn influence, giving it an inner conviction that backs his opinion.

Meaning that while he might be very opinionated, he’s often very stubborn as well.   

A Virgo-Virgo (JK) might be more hot-headed, but a Virgo-Capricorn/ Virgo-Taurus is a lot more hard-headed. 

There’s this sturdiness (‘pushiness’) in expressing his ideas/desire without backing down. But whilst Virgo-Taurus can be obstinately pushy, a Virgo-Capricorn has a slight distinction. There’s a maturity to them (being the oldest of the earth signs) that will actually concede to another, if the point being made objectively surpassing their own ability to contribute to the argument/conversation (for the better good).

With Virgo-Capricorn, whether they’re the teacher or the student here, if they could learn something/concede to the point being made then they’ll back down/accept their role as the student. 

But if they think their points are contributing to the greater good (surpassing their counterparts) the they absolutely would not back down. (pridefulness/ego as well)

Cardinal tint (Capricorn)- confronts himself/others, in order to achieve what his Sun wants/need. 

Fixed tint (Taurus) - convinced in his own desire/opinions, perseverance to achieve what his Sun wants/needs.

The big question here is whether he knows what he wants/needs or not. Whilst Fixed tint are often able to carry out their perseverance because they tend to know (intuitively sometimes) what’s better for themselves. The Cardinal here is about learning/growing as they go.

Combined that with the naturally mutable Virgo, a lot of the time it’s through fighting/growing like this that he figures out what he wants and what he desires to nourish his soul. 

It’s a lot of internal debate and self-questioning, transitioning and growing as he faces dangers and challenges in his life. 

A lot of the time, they do go through fluxes of ups and downs just because their emotional/inner need can tend to influence their subconscious and mind/thoughts a lot.  

His ego/self-esteem wants to understand itself, wants to solve what it wants externally. Virgo-Capricorn can pull this internal self-analysis outwards instead of letting it bounce around inside instead. (see: Namjoon talking to himself, figuring himself out, having a lot of thoughts on who he is and some of his existential crisis is reflected in his musics/lyrics/thoughts/notes) 

Sometimes letting it bounce around inside can feel really constricting, because Virgo can often have this ‘simplification process’ going on inside of them already (take notice of it, like an internal organization system that wants to put everything in order/hierarchy to make externalizing thoughts easier for the Virgo natives themselves.) 

When the idea/desire seems to be a bigger problem there’s a natural tendency to ‘flatten’ the dimensionality of the thought/desire to make it more manageable for themselves. 

However, with a Capricorn decan there’s a desire/inquiring need to actually pull it outwards to study it deeper. Capricorn (cardinal) doesn’t just talk about pursuing something, it’s also pulling it’s depth out as well (like Scorpio’s intensity/focus, but Capricorn tends to focus on it in a tangible way/thus pull it outwards).  

When you pull the thought outwards, it has more range to expand itself in because it’s not constricted by just his sun anymore. It’s his Mercury, Venus, Moon, Mars helping it as well.

Like chemicals sometimes, contained inside a bottle it’s not reacting to anything. But once you put it in a test tube, it might start reacting to air/water/solubles you add to it. Putting thoughts/ideas out of the container (inside of himself) and exposing it to the elements (external factors) adding solubles (influences of placements) to it creates a reaction, a way to understand/build up this sense of self (Sun) is to get exposure. Even if that exposure is merely, saying it aloud or putting the thought into existence. Manifestation is key (Capricorn externalization helping Virgo internal thoughts desire/process becoming more solid) 

A lot of the time, the best method is a lot like sound-boarding off of himself. Virgo is a mercurial sign that talks about tangibility (earth, Mercury ruled), Capricorn helps express that.He wants some sort of organization in his life. 

One of the biggest challenge Virgo-Capricorn faces is feeling out of control (not really understanding certain part of themselves.)

They dig deep into the smaller details (Virgo) of what makes them do that certain thing. And then it bothers them so much, they might find themselves wanting to pull it out of themselves. 

Since Virgo are capable of doing most of the verbally expressing part on their own already, the difficulty natives might find themselves facing is that it’s not solid enough/substantial enough to confront the problem. (leads to confusion, taking breaks, not really understanding how to help themselves sometimes esp since it’s the Sun)

Capricorn helps with the confronting aspect, it helps enables this act of externalizing and creating substance from the thought because of it’s Saturn/Cardinal nature. And as a grounded/very set earth-sign.  

It helps manifests the thoughts/ideas/desire of the Sun physically. Makes it more grounded/tangible - link the thought to things to actually do about it, resources, reference, expansion on the idea without losing train of thoughts), so he can face it instead of struggle with it internally. 

That’s what I mean by sturdier, just the resourcefulness/steady-handedness Capricorn brings to Virgo Sun’s desire, helping it out/supporting it. (Sun-decan) 

Virgo dimensionality (2-D-ness) could be restricting, and Capricorn usually has a huge depth of thoughts/emotions to them (that they unfortunately just like suppressing).

Placement-decans are usually see-sawing off of each other’s strength and weaknesses. This is Capricorn using it’s organizational and depth (best attribute) to help Virgo solve it’s disorganization/dimensionality problem.

So the commonality between them is organization/structure, but their difference/aptitude helps each other out (in a very earth sign way: compromising for progress/better good) 

Capricorn’s worse trait is it’s suppression of it’s own depth. But as a decan, it’s not really forcing Namjoon to restrict himself. It helps him to face his own problems/confront things inside himself that Virgo brings to the table. The problems (confusion) being addressed is Virgo’s problem, Capricorn does it’s best to help progress/further it a long (and if it can’t contribute constructively, then they both have to learn how to adapt/collaborate unplanned. Bc earth signs.)

This is the difference between Sun-decan, the rulership/power dynamic is always for the purpose of benefiting from one another/supporting one another. Besides giving a tonality/personality to the ruling sign, it also adds an element of support/attributes to it help it progress as well. 

So you can see it as a kind of team work here. Instead of Capricorn taking the reign it’s just-- what he expresses in his face. This serious side of Namjoon/his more sober nature we don’t really get to see is the Capricorn decan in his Sun. 

It’s the process he has to go through in order to come post-production on broadcast (vlive behind, interview, etc.) when Libra Mercury can take the reign -- talking about the product of his Sun. (see further in the Moon section and Mercury section below) 

That’s part of why Namjoon’s so forthright and honest with his thoughts/feelings-- because if it comes from inside himself, the deepest part of his thoughts and his sincerity/integrity (sun - sense of self, ego, desire) then everything he’s saying/talking about he has conviction behind it. (Capricorn helping backed/sustain the Virgo’s desire/thoughts/wants)

He truly believes in what he’s saying, and if he doesn’t then it’s going to eat him up on the inside first. (Virgo internally/dimensionality, Capricorn need for depth/intensity)

Virgo Sun: Libra Mercury 

With Namjoon the significance of his Sun here is crucial. Most likely, its probably his strongest/sturdiest core. If he has a good solid base to work from, then this Virgo (Mercury ruled) is influencing how it’s being used in his Libra Mercury as well. 

It helps with understanding how eloquent the Libra Mercury comes across, as well as Namjoon’s involvement in his intellect (it fuels his own Sun). So it’s like, grinding/good concept -> push it onto Libra Mercury to externalize. 

Case study: compare it to Jimin who has the same Libra Mercury, you can see the similarity in style of speech (divert, smoothing over, etc) but Namjoon seems to have a focus on self-improvement (in a different way than Jimin does) self-reflection/evaluation (critically), on-going thoughts/ideas that sub verge with each other and concepts (post-production stage: conclusion of what he’s read/seen/observed) -- it’s not just all from his Sagittarius Moon (yes, he speaks with emotional investment there) but it’s also from his Sun. 

His desire to pursue, share and truly connect has to come from his Sun. Otherwise there’s no real sense of fulfillment or ‘self-love’ there for him. 

If it’s not fueling his own sense of self, his desire or his honest wants/needs (Sun) then it’s never going to be satisfying enough for him. It’ll become a yo-yo effect because he can only sustain it for a certain amount of time. If it’s just from his Moon (or any other placements), the emotional satisfaction and growth only goes for so long without another support (in this case, the Sun) behind it. 

Values of placements, signs and power in each person’s chart is different. But just from first-view/brief observation you can see that it plays an importance to him consciously (not intentional but if you pay attention, there’s a strong Virgo sense to him there when he’s expressing himself/his core beneath the other placements)

Jimin’s similar in how his Sun actually supports his Mercury here. With them both being in Libra, you can see how Jimin’s focus is different. 

When they talk, Jimin’s speech is a similar style to Namjoon (smoothing over, harmonic, over-arching) but his focus seems to be on desire/goals(personal ambition), relationship (socially), balance/justice (harmony) and compromising (peace). 

Their focus differs because it’s backed by different signs/placements.

In one of Namjoon’s vlive he’d mentioned before that Jimin and him are actually quite similar. Part of it is because they share that Libra Mercury (and Scorpio Venus) but while that means they do have similar style of thoughts (have thought/touched around the subject before) the pursuing of their focus they choose to really invest in (things they care about/fuel them individually) are different. 

They’re supportive of each other because they have similar ideas/style/thoughts, but they’re different from each other because the backing (emotional attachment/sense of fulfillment/self-expression) are personal to them individually (intimate to their own persons)

So now we look at the details. While they’re similar with their Libra Mercury, Namjoon’s tone and motivation (influenced by the backing) much more forceful than Jimin is. 

(Jimin is forceful in a different way, his tone is different from Namjoon. I’ll touch on that more when I do his actual inner planet reading)

His Sun (Virgo-Capricorn) has a pushiness to it, a serious/soberness that still comes through. A stubbornness/testament to his struggles (processing point) from earlier before he reaches this post-production part (the actual sharing with the world part). 

The disciplinarian Sun-tint definitely comes through. Capricorn here gives him less of a focus on the harmonic, but more of a teacher/authority to his voice. 

When he’s being the leader, making speech, it comes through this way. 

Jimin has a different tone/style than Namjoon (with the same Mercury, but backed up differently). He tends to go for a smooth style of speech and a quieter/linker type of speaker (in both public and private). His style is more about the transition/being tactful than Namjoon’s forceful/authoritative nature 

Consider: looking at Namjoon talking in private/public + Jimin talking in private/public -- there’s a difference, not just because Namjoon’s a leader and Jimin supports his ideas. But also what is pulling them together and distincting them apart in their individual style of speaking as well. 

Thoughts align similarly, supportive of each other. But the focus/compliments Jimin brings to light about Namjoon is what Jimin focuses on/is backed up from, which Namjoon is different to.  

Back to Namjoon, there’s more conviction and purpose here. If it’s supported by his Sun: when he says things from the heart he’s much sturdier than being caught off guard with just his Libra Mercury. (The importance of being supported/working well with your placement) 

Virgo Sun: Virgo ‘messiness’/Understanding Themselves

A bit more on Virgo Sun-Capricorn decan: A lot of the time when he has his inner-thoughts/figuring himself out moments, in the long-run it looks like it’s sporadic but on-going. (meaning: not during the process, but it’s habitual behaviour since pre-debut -> now) 

It’s not like Namjoon is constantly on the grind to discover himself as his main goal (dig himself deeper into the hole) nor is he heavily burdened trying to look for the ‘one true answer’ so he can get his life organized and start doing stuff (like a sudden ‘aha! i figure my life goals/wants out now’ moment) -- we’re just trying to look at how he works.

The mutable quality (Virgo) here is good for him because it makes him take breaks from the Capricorn’s pursuit/grind. And the Capricorn is good for him because it gives him long-term perseverance and goals to achieve/look forward to in the future. 

It’s good to be ‘sporadic’ since Virgo would need the time/space to recover and re-organize. It’s also good that it’s ‘on-going’ because Capricorn would allow him to continue to move forward and reach different ‘rest stop’ a long the way. (that motion/drive forward, along with enough ‘rest’ and ‘release’ from Virgo)

It’s like a train ride, each station/stop becomes a ‘semi-conclusion/satisfying-enough-solution’ to some part of his life long inquiry/self-discovery journey.   

Hitting a bit more on traits to do with this Virgo-Capricorn Sun (for Namjoon): methods/form of self-pep (talking to himself), writing his thoughts/ideas down, flow-chart/diagrams (visually), lyrics/crafting. Any organizational method for himself to figure out his internal desire would help, but most of all it’s in writing/creating (tangibility)  

The thoughtfulness/overthinking trait probably stems from part of his Sun as well. 

Namjoon’s known for his intellect, and a part of it is because it’s strongly correlated to this Virgo (Virgo - mercury, influencing his Libra Mercury.) His intellect is part of his sense of pride/ego/self. It’s also what helps him figure himself out a lot of the time.

He’s always going to be observative: talk to himself about himself, about concepts/things that’s bothering him. About the little things and structure and bigger establishment/plans/goals and ideas. (Capricorn decan- Sagittarius Moon) 

He’s always going to question the smallest part of himself and try to structure it somehow. 

It helps with intellectualization, but also visualization/manifesting it into reality. 

Actions he can take to help it out, he will in order to pursue that ‘on-going’-ness he brings.

A lot of the time, he gets so consumed in this part of himself that he tends to neglect/forget his external environment/smaller stuff. Losing things, being organized (in an conventional sense) keeping track of time/things. (Namjoon’s forgetfulness isn’t just his Cancer Mars/Sagittarius Moon-- it’s this Sun as well)

A lot of it has to do with spontaneity that Virgo Sun also brings. He needs to figure it out, or else it eats up at his sense of self and he needs to figure it out now. 

Virgos already have a reputation for being externally organized, and while that might not be true for most Virgo natives that’s the challenge they often face in order to feel in control of themselves. 

A lot of the time, Virgo native probably doesn’t feel like they’re the hot-shit/top-stuff, but that structure that balance/inner fulfillment is what keeps them pursuing things and craving it/desire (Sun). 

They might find themselves doing a lot of things to fill that sense of self, that craving and void that they predict will become filled once they finish certain tasks/do things. There’s a lot of stuff burdening them personally, from their external environment to their deeper inner problem, so it’s just a matter of organizing/making a list/hierarchy to make things manageable for themselves to do. That’s their sense of pursuit and in a way, a resemblance of structure in their life whether they notice it or not. 

It’s not as if they’re extremely messy people, but they’re the one who brings the topic up the most. Namjoon and JK (and Hobi) are the few people who always brings up/mention how ‘messy’ or ‘disorganized’ something is/they are. Even when no one else thinks they are or has mentioned it. 

It’s this Sun’s focus/projection into caring about the little details that’s truly bringing it out. It’s a manifestation of their desire (wanting to clean up/organize/improve) because there’s always more. It’s almost metaphorical in a way, to compare external messiness to their inner thirst for improvement. Attaining that desire/happiness they want to achieve.  

Refer to the gif above, do you see the very organized and all aligned dolls behind him? That’s some Virgo shit right there. Remember his bed? How all his Ryans are stacked in some kind of orderly fashion? 

Namjoon’s not as ‘disorganized’ as he thinks he is. He emphasizes a lot on how he’s messy (verbally) and the things he do that contributes to this messiness (Hobi’s latest vlive in LA tour: Namjoon mentioning how he threw his pillows out of the bed) because it shows that there’s room for improvement, the desire for self-evaluation/being critical of himself = being able to work up to that standard they set up for themselves ( ‘perfectionist ideals’/ ‘standards’ that Virgo Sun aims for) 

Same as Jungkook, who always first to disclaim his external disorganization whenever the topic of visiting his studio/room comes out. But he doesn’t-- nag anyone about it. Namjoon doesn’t either. It’s not the mess anyone else made that matters, it’s the mess they themselves made that they feel is bothering them. 

Objectively, it’s not ‘messiness’ itself, it’s just their own personal senses/thoughts/feelings related to their ‘messiness’ that’s projected outwardly that’s bothering them. They want to be not messy inside. It’s part of why they approve of people who seems well-organized/well-groomed (has their inner shit sorted out) if they have their inner-shit sorted out, then that’s a whole huge bucket they don’t have to suffer through, right?

Also: They’re a lot more pre-occupied with other things (thinking/day-dreaming) to pay attention sometimes. 

(Virgo-Virgo for JK: his mind stuff mostly, Virgo-Capricorn for NJ: his life goals, plans, establishment mostly). But the significance of organization isn’t missed on them (when they ‘wake up’ or ‘come to’ and realize/note their external environment outside this Virgo thinking/day-dreaming bubble.) 

Maybe their sense of internal disorganization makes them anxious/nervous about being judged for their external organization.

Virgos tend to place their energy in trying to have some kind of order/structure about them. 

Often time this backfires in underdeveloped Virgos, they’ll end up over-organizing their external environment to make up for an internal disorganization problem. 

With Namjoon he’s internally disorganized so he relies on routine to create some kind structure in his life (externally: knowing where to go, what to visit, what he likes, his interest/knowing himself or figuring out himself helps a lot with it - part of Sag Moon but also Cancer Mars here as well) 

Virgo being a mercurial makes natives naturally curious. Also being an earth-sign, most of the interest doesn’t have to come to interacting with others. 

They can find enjoyment in studies, puzzles, setting up projects for themselves or even just pursuing personal interests (doll collection, supporting sustainable fashion, etc). Capricorn enables this tangibility quality to Virgo.

Compared to JK’s Virgo-Virgo: JK is much more interested/awed by other people’s thoughts, intellect and style. He’s interested in learning, while Namjoon here is interested in adding materials to himself. To teach and to share with others. His focus is much more self-geared here. 

Virgo Sun: Capricorn Decan - Moments of Solitude and Subtle Affections

Having this Capricorn decan makes him much more sympathetic to others, he exhibits the best quality of Capricorn which is perseverance, long-term studiousness, a sincere nature and an inner gentleness/dedication to his projects (even if he’s frustrated sometimes). 

Along with everything comes with moments of withdrawn. More so than the Virgo native (Virgo-Taurus/Virgo-Virgo), he has to have his moments alone to contemplate.

It’s not a bad thing to be withdrawn, it’s actually really helpful. Instead of being enthusiastic/always moving like JK, Namjoon’s much more cautious/calculative. 

He has the space to think things through, that stability/conclusive conviction in himself. It comes from that Capricorn decan influencing his Sun. 

Also a lot of-- subtleness that comes with Virgo-Capricorn. Namjoon can often comes across as the exact opposite of subtle when it’s about self-expression: he tends to talk very loudly as a way of externalizing himself (see above). 

But when it comes to the-- sentimental things that matters to him, like to people/his family for instance. He demonstrates his love in an almost secretive way.

This isn’t just from Scorpio Venus (intimacy) it’s about dedication and timelessness. He wants his affection to be noticed, but he’s not going to go about it in a very up-front/pure-emotion kind of way. 

Imagine a Virgo Venus but even more reserved (in the beginning stages of being interested), because of the Capricorn decan. That’s him wanting to reach out to people, but sometimes comes across a block-solid wall in his own self-expression (Capricorn-Virgo).

A huge part of the sun is their relation to others and how they express themselves. Y know since Leo-- a sign ruled by the Sun, talks about externalizing itself/self- expression. It doesn’t make sense if we don’t touch on it from other sign’s experience as well.  

Virgo-Capricorn can have a stiffness with demonstration, when viewed from another person’s perspective. 

Namjoon is definitely not all soft and gushy, in fact if there’s talks about emotions that he’s not prepared for he’s going to distance himself away/make fun of it (Sag-Virgo/Cap- err on the side of caution sometimes/flighty despite being foolhardy on other things they’re ‘prepared’ for.) 

It’s also part of that Virgo-Capricorn pride, whether subconsciously or not, there’s an unwillingness to be seen as weak that does tend to get the best of him sometimes. (Most commonly seen in pre-debut Namjoon: hip hop versus idol persona)

Especially since Capricorn decan hardens him to cruise through rough waves, when it comes to confronting the soft-sanded beaches he can feel like it’s hard to step onto/sinking into his feet that lacks the sturdiness/stability he’s used to.  

Besides the need to have his own space/be alone in order to live with others for a long-period of time (he mentions how he’s seen/lived with the members for a long time, not like Yoongi who brings up the fact every 5 seconds but with Namjoon it’s mostly said in a joking manner/casual co-habitation) 

Namjoon’s Virgo emphasized by this Capricorn decan also makes him very giving to those around him. He’s very conscious of what he puts out, Virgo’s ‘serving’/ ‘helpful’ nature is encouraged by Capricorn’s sincerity/cardinal nature.

He often finds himself much more conscious of himself than of others, wants/desire to take others by their words/face value when he knows he can trust them. This limits his social circle quite a bit because he’s selective of the people he puts trusts in. 

It’s partially a consequence of his withdrawn trait (lack of action, conserving strength in order to pursue other stuff), but also a conscious/natural suspicion of others around him.

In order to maximize Virgo’s giving nature, he wants to minimize the amount of people/time he’s critical of other’s around him. 

To do that, he can find himself lacking motivation to pursue personal relationships that he’s initially unsteady about, or cutting people out decisively if they’re bad for him. Besides being able to hold a grudge (Cancer Mars) he’s also very persistent/demanding in his social relationship as well (Scorpio Venus - see later)

This Virgo-Capricorn since it influences his Mercury (Virgo Sun expressing itself/pride through Mercury - ruler) his sense of humor can come across as sort of dry and sarcastic. 

A consequence of that Capricorn decan wanting to express it’s humour, which coincidentally tends to be just in Seokjin’s line of taste(Capricorn Venus) and Taehyung makes him feel like this side of him is understood/acceptable (Capricorn Mercury). 

Since it can be kind of -- peculiar (combined with Virgo, the way it’s expressed is kind of quirky/peculiar without him having certain control over it sometimes)

Asking for help is also a problem he might face, it’s part to do with that withdrawn nature but also just the general stiffness/pridefulness he has. 

Capricorn decan here is stopping him from reaching out to people, because it’s so used to being the disciplinarian. The lesson it has to learn is to become the student. Something JK can help him with/he can learn from. 

The lesson it has to learn is to not stop the Virgo from reaching out to people. The sun (for him) is largely dependent on that initial ‘fighting to find himself’ stage, so any ego/stagnancy in his part is a hinderance to himself. 

The Capricorn-Virgo can have some ideas about serving others through disciplinarian/authority in itself (sense of self/ego) -- built up ego of knowing who he is without questioning himself becomes an unwilling to break himself to grow more, to listen to others and to learn. 

Having mutable/cardinal signs in your chart is only useful if you acknowledge it, and help it’s nature instead of ‘fixing’ it (get it? cause ‘fixed’ signs...) 

If it’s held on for too long, it becomes a problem/inner tension he needs to fix. So by only acknowledging, surrendering and growing from it’s natural waves, could he continue to use his Sun in his growth.     

Aspects

Sun (Virgo) - Square - Moon (Sagittarius)

This emphasized the self-critical nature Namjoon has to himself, but more on the ‘talking to himself/self-confusion and questioning himself’ part. 

There’s an emphasis here on trying to reason, analyze and understand where his emotions/instant actions are coming from. 

You can see when he’s embarrassed or ‘regretting his life choices’ that it’s mostly his reserved Sun being conscientious of his Moon’s instantaneous reaction. (also supported by Moon-Mars aspect below: feels like he lose control/act without thinking often, his Sun deals with being conscious of it/feeling embarrassed afterwards)

A lot of the time this spurs his own confusion even more, he wants to understand himself but he feels he lacks balance. Lacks stability and order that he craves. 

Because the Sun here is picking up on the smallest, tiniest details of his action/thoughts/subconscious mind that his Moon has (is in charge of). 

While his Moon is overlooking all the things the Sun pays attention to. It’s focused on the bigger picture, the bigger aspects, the concepts and ideas and the ever moving motion of things. 

His Sun is the consciousness part of him that’s digging it’s heels in trying to be like ‘wait wait let’s figure this out, let me figure this out’.  While the Moon is going ‘lets go, I know what’s best for us! It’s the ever-moving process of fighting/on-going nature that’s going to grow us better! let’s go!’ (getting the gist/motion of what the Sun is about and running with it)  

Despite Virgo and Sagittarius being mutable signs they’re constantly in motion different from each other (Mercury isn’t going at the same pace as Jupiter y know, size wise and speed wise)

Being of a different element, the contrast between them is even more prominent as well. 

It’s not like they’re not orbiting in each other’s presence, in fact if you want to think about it visually. It’s like peering into a store window (in a shopping mall) and seeing your aunt make a scene inside (Sag Moon). It’s precisely because they’re aspected that means they’re aware of what each other’s doing. 

The problem this might pose for Namjoon is heightened confusion and indecision. They’re both mutable signs of different element and polarity, there’s always that push-pull dynamic inside of himself. 

It also heightens his suspicion and critical consciousness, like, he’s always aware of the opposite side of the argument. 

When talking to someone, he’s always disclaiming himself not to be misunderstood because he doesn’t understand himself sometimes (self-confusion/figuring himself out). 

He might find himself fool-proofing that/projecting the same kind of suspicion onto other people as well.  

Sun (Virgo) - Sextile - Mars (Cancer)

Oof we love a powerful man! 💕

Sun backed up by Mars here gives a strength to pursue the things he wants to pursue (through activitiy). 

The innate qualities of Virgo such as it’s attention to details, critical nature, organizational qualities is expressed outwards through his actions/work. 

It also plays a little bit into how he comes across, people respect Namjoon because he has this sense of understanding to him.

 A sympathetic and observational nature that is expressed through his Virgo Sun - Cancer Mars aspect.

He’s able to connect to others (Cancer) and serve them (Virgo) on a deeper level than just the physical/emotional (Sun-Mars). 

He’s pragmatic (Virgo) and sturdy (Cancer), a perfect leader quality!

Minor details: it also plays into having a healthier masculinity, Cancer and Virgo are both feminine signs that builds and strengthen his masculinity, if they’re being used honestly and truthfully in Namjoon’s life.

That means he accepts them and nourish them, grow them in order to build/strengthen this Sun-Mars aspect of his. 

When he has more more practice sustaining his masculinity through Cancer and Virgo, he has a balance of both masculinity and femininity that he demonstrates and that -- pleases himself (his Libra particularly) and others greatly (because they sense this balance-ness to him and flock to him).

Anyways his Sun (ego/sense of self/esteem) is expressed through his action/work/physicality (externalized outwards through Mars outlet, which is always great!)

Sun (Virgo) - Trine - Uranus (Capricorn)

This is Namjoon fighting for the underdog, being the underdog and trying to change the system. (From pre-debut till now -> onwards as well)

He has perfect understanding between his head/sense of self (Sun) and his social consciousness (Uranus) -- of what he wants to do, and what he has to do as well (wanting to do things - tangibility, earth signs)

It’s also creating a voice for others in the world, Virgo here is serving the world by making part of it’s purpose a tangible creation/effort. 

Uranus is generous and often selfless, while Virgo’s sympathetic dedicated nature serves his inner purpose. 

He often reflects about himself (Sun) in relation to the world (Uranus), connecting himself to the creation of the universe and all things around/in it.  

His creation and effort, no matter how long it takes he wants to make an effort to create a safe space (Virgo-Capricorn- externalization, external organization/project, effort, structure) for others. 

Sun (Virgo) - Trine - Neptune (Capricorn)

A part of his inspiration and nature is just--- bringing the ideal into reality. 

It’s that Neptune subconsciousness combined with his internal sense of self (Sun). 

He’s able to create and mold pieces of work that’s delicate and detail-oriented, crafted because of this Virgo Sun channelling the steady, sturdiness of Capricorn Neptune.

A lot of the time his thoughts and ideals are related to reality. Concepts of love, nature around him, the universe, people, theories and ideals. 

Neptune mod. ruler in Pisces, there’s a lot of empathetic nature that’s highlighted in his Virgo Sun. And if we’re talking about Pisces other qualities (trad. Jupiter rulership) the ‘serving’ nature here is emphasized just as much as well. 

Namjoon’s a very giving person, but the part that gives him hindrance is usually the friction having an earth-earth combination brings. Like he has the ‘in touch intuition’ but sometimes Capricorn makes it harder to manifest smoothly. Since it’s ground-ground influence, it feels like dragging your feet across the floor sometimes.    

Sagittarius Moon | 2nd Decan (Mars/Aries) 

I think we all know Sag moon’s need for activity. 

It’s like, photosynthesis with them. They’ve reached that stage in the maturity/growth (as the oldest fire sign/one of the oldest sign in the zodiac) to be able to digest nourishment through their intellectualism+ fuel their inner sense of self that way.

 They still need stimuli for sure, but that stimuli can be from people/culture/seemingly nothing/external environment/concepts. 

It’s expansive this way. That’s the top-tier fire sign level. Expansion in what they can digest/photosynthesize.  

(Sagittarius) They’re more of the type to get up and go, take in the natural sunlight/environment and create their own self-fulfillment from there. Again, this is where their independency/needing personal space comes from as well.

There’s still the distinguishable ‘me’ attitude that fire-sign has. Unlike the Aries Moon who’s ‘me’ attitude comes from tugging/pulling others to become motivated (link up to their energy- Mars), 

Or the Leo Moon who’s ‘me’ attitude comes from acknowledging/parrying other’s response to them/persuading them to self-express their inner self (Sun)

The Sagittarius Moon’s ‘me’ attitude comes in the intellectual kind/mentally stimulating kind (Jupiter). 

Open-mindedness, intellectual resourcefulness, teaching sharing and creating a direction to go towards together is important to them.

They’re also generous and absolutely opinionated. 

He would not back down from helping another, Sagittarius Moon actively encourages/expand on other member’s positive qualities. Jupiter shines a light on other’s strength. 

He always tries his best to make the public endeared by those he adores, generally through demonstrating his own personal affection for them. 

Kind of like a little kid who’s introducing his friend to his parents, absolutely adore his friends, want his parent’s approval of them too.

Anyways, this can sometimes come with the price of emphasizing his clumsiness/contrasting personality to bring this light forward. 

Jupiter always has this sense of depending on others, or depending on each other (collaborative - social planet). Better halves. 

As much as individuality is focused in Sagittarius/Jupiter, emphasizing their difference (how they make each other better) their own individuality gets to shine better this way. 

When it seems like their difference is building (learn/grow) on each other’s strength/weaknesses, the end result seems to be a win-win situation for both of them. (Optimistic/positive - generous and sharing)

Namjoon’s generosity is absolutely understated, but it’s a huge part of having a Sagittarius Moon. His emotion is tied to how he can help others, grow from others and (with his Sun) sometimes even serve a purpose together as well. 

As part of a social planet (Jupiter) it’s about collaborating and contributing (individually) to a bigger purpose. Maybe not like Aquarius/ Uranus, but it definitely brings a brighter light/emphasis to his sense of self/purpose. (It’s shining light on the better part of things, people, themselves, others -- it might not be prominent but it’s underlying in all his actions/subconscious thoughts somehow) 

As part of his Moon, he identifies himself with a ‘purpose’ (Sun-Moon aspect, even if the relationship is square- it’s still aspected)

Virgo might be his vulnerable side, underneath Sagittarius’s outward optimism and enthusiasm. A harder, fiery outer core to his inner personality.

It’s all a part of him really, but he protects himself better with this Moon.  If he moves fast enough, hard enough with this Sagittarius then the damage his Virgo take is lessened. 

There’s a common goal between Virgo and Sagittarius, helping others around them helps themselves. In a sense, they want to help people find their own footing + through their success stories, they often feel inspired/proud to find their own successes as well. See that it’s possible, that is a practical dream. And they want to achieve that. 

Virgo finds serving others self-serving to their values/purpose, while Sagittarius finds helping others serving to fuel themselves, teach/grow into their own person.  

With Sagittarius being in his Moon Namjoon’s purpose/pride has to do with self-discovery. 

Growing and learning, adapting and changing in order to teach/grow into his own person. 

He already knows who he is, to an extent. Sagittarius Moon tends to have this identifying thing where they know best/what’s good for them intuitively (fire-sign tends to think they do). Even though they can’t actually answer a straight question (about who they are really), they can demonstrate it outwardly through consistency and demonstration/action.

They realize they have a pattern, like a routine or specific behaviour they do. And that’s their most identifying trait- the pure unadulterated joy they have for certain things. Their natural buoyancy. (Sagittarius Moon - that’s his identity)

In a way it’s his openness and sincerity. He can’t hide his Sagittarius Moon’s happiness. It helps since his Virgo-Capricorn can be intimidating a lot of the time. 

When he’s happy, he lights up. The eyebrow raise, the eyes crinkling, the joy and openness to his expression-- that’s part of the Sagittarius Moon. He can’t hide that. 

The way he bops his head along to a song, the way he bounces when he’s excited. That’s the most unadulterated version of his Sagittarius Moon behaviour. That’s what he identifies with, and what he pushes forward. (Inner core- outer crust, Sun-Moon. But also self-identity with the Moon.) 

He’s heavy-handed with helping others, even sometimes to the extent of acting brashly/naively. He’s enthusiastic about it, optimistic to be able to participate and see others grow. 

He wants to see others be better versions of themselves, because he himself wants to see it reflected in his own transition as well.

You know, it’s sort of a mirror thing. Like, if he can spread this kind of enthusiasm and open-minded idea. This feeling he has inside of himself, to others around him (by teaching them the same kind of courtesy/respect) -- then he himself can achieve it too. (benevolent but also ‘me’ attitude)

Manifesting, watering, putting in work to help others. He can see that it’s working for them, and that in turns motivate/inspires him (fire sign stimuli) to achieve his own success as well.  

He’s enlightened, positive and absolutely supportive of those close to him. 

Joonie thrives and live off of this placement, his emotions are key to his sensitivity and his connection to the outside world.

Know how he can sometimes appear to exhibit childish trait or aegyo-like behaviours (without meaning to - instantaneous behaviour) That’s when a Sagittarius feels most comfortable developing into themselves. 

Especially in a Moon placement where the lighter trait of Sags are exaggerated. Unlike Jin’s Sagittarius Sun, Namjoon’s Sagittarius Moon is like a child version of Jin that lends itself to being absolutely adored and loved (endearing, Jin is as well but Joon can’t control it).

Sagittarius Moon: Developing and Growing

In Sagittarius there’s an innate knowledge within themselves that- if they can afford to work hard in maturing one self. Doing the things they deem ‘necessary’: they can also afford to find happiness/gentle nature in just living innocently and purely, within the world by being themselves when the time calls as well. (Sagittarius living in nature, appreciating travels and exploring/expanding themselves) 

Namjoon’s ability to see through his own past/bullshit can be hard to come by (redeeming himself when he makes mistakes) but I’m inexplicably proud of him when he overcame those challenges and connects his inner purpose this way.

Sagittarius, when they’re at their best, are comfortable in the position where they aren’t stuck in the past/the future of their actions. They’re comfortable knowing that there’s more to life than who they are now. 

Once the presence starts to be filled with regrets for past actions (’why did i do that today’) they want to move on/forget about the situation. This isn’t really good for the Sagittarius, because it’s lending itself to ‘running away’ from the situation/being flakey to themselves. 

Consistency, at least to themselves is what the Sagittarius native has to learn. They can’t just run away from their problems or rely on their future changes to not feel guilty/embarrassed/regretful about their past. 

Confrontation isn’t their strong suit (especially if it’s personal) but in order to build something out of themselves/end a chapter in their life properly (as a mutable sign) they have to become sturdier. 

Think of it as progression from 9th house to 10th house. What does the Sagittarius have to learn, in order to progress into Capricorn? It’s the final resolution, the confrontation within themselves. It’s using that sincerity/honestly they give outwards to other people all the time, to be fair/just to themselves inside as well. 

It does have to do with justice, Sagittarius Moon gets really riled up by injustice in their environment/towards others. But when it comes to evaluating what they’re putting themselves down for, they tend to gloss over it/make it into an exasperated joke. 

Sagittarius uses humor to deal with a lot of things, and learning how to be just/fair to themselves is such a crucial thing for Sags.  

That’s why self-love is such a large lesson/concept for Namjoon (to learn), it ties down to his inner core as well. The Sagittarius Moon here has to learn to accept/grow into loving itself, slowing itself down, to be reaching out to his other placement (compromising), be open-minded to himself-- to actually be fair to himself as well.  

A lot of the time Namjoon can be too hard on himself and doubtful of his own worth. 

While Sagittarius protects his ego (sun) by overplaying the optimistic, generous demeanor. Self-love, self-care, fairness to himself/his evaluation of himself-- the sincerity/honesty he shows to others should be spread inside to himself as well. 

Balanced inside and outside. Because just like this, the Sagittarius is just subvert all the time (to others). It needs to be balanced, because if it shifts from subversion to inversion: he becomes selfish, high-strung on his opinion, unable to give anyone a chance because it compromises his chances. 

Learning how to compromise, deal with the problem, confront and acknowledge the problem itself is a lesson Sagittarius has to adapt to. 

Scenario: to make up for the Sun being so critical/self-analytical, the Sagittarius Moon here talks loudly to distract from the actual problem. It’s trying to make the atmosphere better, but it’s a short term solution. 

The opposite can also happen when it’s tilted (inversion/subversion) Sagittarius Moon become strongly defensive and absolutely maniacal of it’s own opinion/thoughts. Sullen, isolationist and selfish. 

Even though he can swing between being generous and being selfish, the lesson lies in being both at the same time-- towards himself and towards others. 

He can’t deal with this duality in separate sections, the bad comes with the goods. He can’t keep them separated because it causes fissure. And this just makes the tilting even harder for him to bear. Makes it more confusing and creates more problems for himself.

See its-- being a bigger person. It’s not a child anymore (the younger sign) it’s about combining all his parts together to start maturing. It’s at the edge/the crust of jumping into the MC. 

The separation thing can’t last. That’s the lesson Scorpio already taught through it’s transformation. Sagittarius here has to gather up it’s lessons, evolution as a person and mold it together. To create the grounded stable Capricorn for the next progression y know.  

Learning/growing, or teaching himself how to accept his maniacal side and his generous side in equal part (to himself and to others at the same time). 

How to be both at the same time (demonstration), reaches a stage of completion that Sagittarius has to learn how to do. That’s one of the ways Sagittarius Moon can progress into managing themselves better. 

Sagittarius Moon: Libra Mercury (On the Same Side)

I touched a little on Namjoon’s response to with the TaeJin fight in Burn The Stage:  since Sagittarius is Namjoon’s emotional response, sometimes when they’re faced with other people’s conflict they can tend to whine and complain a lot.

They offer practical solutions, but in their flair of exaggeration and dramatics, it tends to come across as them complaining- whilst trying to philosophize about life to the recipients. 

They are however, very active and willing to communicate. There’s a part of them that feels trusted/chosen as mediator between fights since Sagittarius has an innate need for justice and combined with Libra Mercury, they need to get to the bottom of things. 

Whilst Libra does it more for the purpose of connecting to others, creating external balance and serving justice/attention to details, Sagittarius’s tends to come from a place that’s more about learning from others and objectifying the fight for a bigger purpose (which makes them seem preachy sometimes) 

They want to evaluate all kind of solution and expand their mind, they can tend to be abit more judgmental but never in a mean way. 

Sometimes people get really fed up with their style of mediation because while Libra actually focuses on the person/situation at hand, Sagittarius and Aquarius are already trying to hypothesize the solution to the fight for ‘future references’ sometimes. 

It’s more to do with Libra/Venus talking about direct social relations, while Sagittarius-Aquarius/Jupiter-Uranus talks about the bigger purpose/social groups in life. 

They’re more of the complain-y, head-strong in their opinion kind of mediator. Although they try to be open-minded, they have a hard time coming out of their introspection/relating to other people with different circumstances than they do.

He’s saved by that Libra Mercury, but we all know Namjoon uses his Sagittarius Moon to make a lot of his decisions even if it’s ill-advised sometimes. (See Libra Section for more on Libra - Sag relationship)

The part we respect about Namjoon is when he uses his other placement: his Libra Mercury, his Scorpio Venus and even his Cancer Mars. 

The part we’re endeared by Namjoon: is his Sagittarius Moon. 

Sagittarius as a fire sign (especially in his moon) constantly agitate the other placement by rushing out the door and screaming ‘can’t be tamed’. So when the other placement actually get their hands around Sagittarius Moon, it serves him better because he’s not letting the Wild Child run loose all the time.   

Has a need for a public response, you can see it in the way he turns to look and talks to the camera crew often during the behind the scene of run ep. 54 (linked to vlive channel+)  as well as expressing himself often through yelling, flailing of limbs and dramatic responses.

Sagittarius Moon: Virgo Sun - Bickering (+ Libra Mercury)

There’s also the innate need for Sagittarius here to have some personal space and freedom from the team, and individuality that stands out from others. 

It’s similar to the Capricorn with-drawing itself in the Virgo Sun, but with a Sagittarius it’s even more prominent because his mood is directly affected by it (Moon). He can easily get agitated/frustrated when his ‘alone time’ or ‘off-duty’ time is disrupted. 

His concentration breaks fairly easily, Sagittarius as a mutable sign tends to be focused/driven for certain period of time before needing a distraction (to ‘freshen up’/’restart’)

It also emphasizes his sense of humour, or his need for having sense of humour in his life. A part of why he gets along so well with Jin (and Jungkook) is their ability to provide an environment/crack jokes that he can build on. 

Mutability in this sense, is feel comfortable enough to add onto the situation or mold himself to what’s established (’time for cracking jokes’) It makes him happier, and a lot more easy-going. 

His moods can shift depending on his company, but more importantly what certain people impresses on him. With people who he categorizes as ‘serious business’ type of deal, he can be really awkward trying to shift them into ‘joking ok??’ type of people. 

Sagittarius aren’t all that adaptable when combined with Virgo Sun, in fact Sagittarius in the Moon position tends to have a harder time adapting to others than they are to themselves (ability to bounce away from regretful past choices/action, that’s adapting to themselves)

While he is indeed very generous and opened to listen to others. Sagittarius Moon requires consistency from others because that’s part of the ‘impression’ they make/categorize others in. The mutability in this part, is for themselves. Their ability to bounce back from a bad interaction/protect themselves from others, not let others take advantage of their generosity/kindness.

If they categorize you as someone who’s not going to be kind to them, then they’ll react accordingly. In a way, this is Sagittarius protecting themselves, but they also need to balance themselves better as well.  

Let’s look at his overall placement: Part of why Namjoon is coping so well with the heavy Virgo-Capricorn Sun is because of this Sagittarius Moon. Despite it being in conflict (square) with his Sun, the Sagittarius here provides motion to drive forward/move on in his life and not be so stagnant in his past/mistakes/analyzing himself.

The problem with Sagittarius Moon arises when he over-relies on this motion/driving force, and not enough in developing it further past that. 

The being ‘stagnant in his past/mistakes/analyzing himself’ mostly has to do with being in public, Virgo’s mistakes oxidizes and becomes self-critical when it’s exposed to air/judgement of others around them. 

Sagittarius Moon is trying to make Virgo care less about the public, how it’s perceived/the tiny details that didn’t bother them until they’ve been introduced to society/the everyday others.

The idea is that they should all be allowed to be themselves, truly and freely. But Sagittarius doesn’t acknowledge Virgo’s strength (atleast communication wise/aspect) Virgo wants Sagittarius to acknowledge the good part about caring about the public-- putting in extra effort into caring for others. 

Virgo replied in the way Sagittarius communicate with them (that’s what is established in this dynamic.) Virgo points out Sagittarius’s flightiness, suggesting that the resolution to that is by ‘putting more consistency into it’. 

Here’s where the miscommunication starts, because the way Sagittarius communicate is very fire-sign like. It was aimed to cheer or encourage Virgo up. Fire them up, motivate them. See my example and do the same. But the way Virgo replies/says it back doesn’t work the same way. 

Virgo is an earth sign, it learns from observation and example. The way they communicate doesn’t focus on firing people up like Sagittarius does. It’s through dry effort, practical solution and being there for others (time/endurance demonstration, not immediate/impactful fire starter). 

It can be very dry, critical and seems to the fire sign Sagittarius like it’s just retaliating because it’s hurt. Sagittarius takes this as a stimuli cue (because fire signs reads atmosphere rather than people/words) and is hurt by the response. 

Basically, it’s a miscommunication thing (square aspect). Virgo and Sagittarius are hurt because the other only points to their mistakes (the biggest trait/flaw in each sign) doesn’t want to acknowledge the strength. So it’s an argument without compromising because their communication (aspect) is the issue here.  

So how does this all ties into Namjoon? 

Namjoon probably relies on his Sagittarius Moon alot. Mostly because its the part of him that is his subconscious. He relates to it, identifies with it. His Virgo Sun (Scorpio Venus/Cancer Mars) makes up a larger part of his conscious. But his subconscious is the part he truly self-identifies with, because it holds his emotions (which Cancer Mars/Scorpio Venus plays into as well)

He knows where his emotions come from, how he reacts, his anger, his joy, his motivation and thoughts/progression. The Sagittarius here is like a breath of fresh air to him, allowing him to fight-- sometimes wield it, like a sword towards the clinginess of Virgo (trying to make him focus/analyze himself) or Scorpio/Cancer (trying to cling him onto the past/dig deeper into things and drown in it).

He uses the fiery nature of Sagittarius like a weapon, clings onto it’s warmth because it probably gives him comfort and identity. Stability in his life. He identifies with the fiery nature of Sagittarius because he can understand where it’s from (his emotions/inner self). It’s himself, and he tries so very hard to accept it. 

It’s both his greatest strength but also the part he’s exasperated/confused about as well. He doesn’t understand that, not everything about the Sagittarius makes up his entirety/who he is. By loving/looking at the light of Sagittarius he forgets to look more into his conscious-- the Virgo/Scorpio/Cancer part of himself as well. 

It’s like plato’s allegory of the cave, he’s known of this Sagittarius all his life, the reliance in his Virgo/Scorpio/Cancer is distracting to him. 

It’s the inverse of the allegory, Namjoon distracted by the light Sagittarius brings, he can sometimes be very confused/forgot to acknowledge the shadows that supports the light (Virgo/Scorpio/Cancer) literally the more stable part of himself. 

Rather than Sagittarius being a part of himself (permanently), it’s more like a weapon/limb he can utilize to cut off parts of himself he’s frustrated about (Virgo/Scorpio/Cancer) 

Hence, it feeds into the self-confusion, because he probably holds this Sagittarius at a distance from everything else (Virgo/Scorpio/Cancer) y know?

The only thing this Moon aligns with is his Mercury (see below: Moon-Mercury aspect) 

Mercury, once it’s endorsed by the Sun, becomes strengthened. (see above: Virgo Sun - Mercurial influencing Libra Mercury)

And that wind (air - Libra) blows the flame of Sagittarius Moon even more. 

The Sun - Moon aspect (Square) here is the Sun going ‘wait no that’s not what you’re supposed to do with that power’ and the Moon who’s already gained strength from Mercury is going ‘sike! I have it now, see ya later suckers’ and doing it’s own thing.

 So really, when Namjoon’s going ‘why did you do that Namjoon’ it’s usually that kind of Virgo Sun consciousness.

Libra Mercury fueling his Sagittarius Moon and his Sagittarius Moon running it’s mouth/action without the permission from the rest of his  body/placements/consciousness.

Libra Mercury is literally enabling his Moon. While the collective consciousness of Namjoon is going ‘wait Namjoon why did you do that!’ 

Aspects

Moon (Sagittarius) - Sextile - Mercury (Libra)

The Power Couple, this aspect makes up a lot of Namjoon’s habit we tend to notice. From his shade-y sass, facial expression, his buoyancy to how absolutely adorable he is. 

Sagittarius expressiveness is emphasized through Mercury’s self-expression, making him very animated person when he talks. It’s externalized outward even more, but this time it’s groomed slightly by Libra. 

He manifest his better quality through the good light of Libra (social relation) and Sagittarius (open-mindedness/optimism/justice). 

An alignment between his mind and his emotion makes him very conscious of what’s in his Moon/what it produces, again this is great because it makes him very intune and emotionally expressive. At the same time, his self-confusion (Sun-Moon square) can make communication inside of himself harder to bear, in contrast to how he comes across outwardly (Moon-Mercury). 

The center point of this is the Moon -- so self-identity can come from his Moon instead of his Sun most of the time (his Sun has aspects to Uranus/Neptune and not his inner-planets)

It’s like you see yourself doing so well externally (communicating wise) but internally you’re confused at why you’re so bad at it (miscommunication) 

So there’s a little bit of -- frustration there that’s emphasized because this part (Moon-Mercury) is going so well for him. 

Anyways, more with the good stuff. Moon-Mercury aspect is great because he might not know what he’s saying all the time but he’s very enthusiastic about communicating/talking it out. 

Especially with Sagittarius-Libra, he likes sharing it with others and encouraging others to do the same. 

He’s sincere about himself and others, and although he can sometimes be moody/sullen/private (due to his moods) he always tries his best to be fair to others by acknowledging e his vices, imperfections, etc.

In a way,  he’s probably learning/growing/trying to develop his Sagittarius-Libra through this aspect.

He can gain so much from this combination, because Libra doesn’t let Sagittarius become too ‘rowdy’ while Sagittarius loosen Libra up a bit. 

There’s also genuine masculine energy from this combination, because of their polarity being masculine (Libra/Sagittarius). 

Air and fire works well together, Libra being a cardinal sign is slightly more laid back with Sagittarius around. Libra leads and grooms, takes action and shapes Sagittarius while Sagittarius finds the ‘muse’ or enthusiasm for different things. It’s like, sibling dynamic. 

But without their parents there’s always that instability/balance between them because Libra (as an air sign) can’t rely/depend on Sagittarius to come through during crisis time.  

So while Namjoon is great that shaping, adapting and leading discussion (instigating it) he’s also a bit-- loose and needs that stability/ground to stand on when things gets out of hand as well (which is where Yoongi, Hoseok, Jin, comes in.)

The way Namjoon deals with things is similar to Jimin, like if there’s a crisis they discuss/collaborate what to do together. Without earth (Yoongi’s virgo moon/Hoseok’s taurus moon) or the more forceful cardinal sign (Aries/Capricorn/Cancer) it’s like they can have a moment of panic and feeling lost (mutable) before acknowledging what to do y know.

There’s also the consequence of not being well-equipped to handle heavy emotional discussions. Unless it’s instigated by him or he’s prepared for it. The masculine energy between air-fire focuses on doing/activities, doesn’t have time to sink deeper like earth-water do. 

He is however, very observative and curious about others. 

As much as he talks, he’s willing to listen. 

He loves discussion because it fuels him (emotionally/mentally), he loves connection (Libra). 

People’s word, their body language, the little tic and traits in others he often picks up on. Especially with that Scorpio Venus, he can be very shrewd with people.  

Moon (Sagittarius) - Square - Saturn (Pisces) (R)

Trust is a big issue here, 

With Sagittarius-Pisces trad. ruler being Jupiter, the problem arise when he feels like there’s a lack of appreciation/respect for him from the world itself/everyone is turning their backs on him. 

See, as much as Sagittarius-Pisces positive traits are focused on adapting, generosity, expansiveness/transcendentalism, sharing/caring for others (sympathetic open-handedness) 

The problem is they feel like it’s not being given back to them. And they have to push to earn it back (Saturn). From an authority, a bigger public, a power beyond themselves/their sense of self. It’s daunting and challenging.  

Because he gives so much to others, he doesn’t want to be taken advantage of (Moon- fears). His emotion is going through trials, he doesn’t want to stop adapting/changing/shifting, but Saturn brings lessons he has to faces.

Most of the lesson has to do with perseverance, consistency, finding it within himself. 

There’s a fear of personal relationship, of commitment that he can’t keep up, that’s part of Sagittarius Moon’s deepest fear. 

Having this Saturn-Moon aspect brings it to the forefront.

Namjoon is well-aware of his fears, his lack of strength/vulnerabilities and weakness. He lives with it in this Moon-Saturn aspect. 

The light of the moon shines on the lessons Saturn bring, it’s like catching a glimpse of the grim reaper in the corner of your eyes every time you’re trying to enjoy itself. It’s lingering and with Pisces there, it’s reflective of his inner subconscious even more (12th house/Neptune)

It’s also fear of receiving the nurture/care he craves (Neptune) because there’s always suspicion there.

Sincerity, generosity, the same open-minded/open-handedness they crave they think it’s harder to come by because of Saturn’s influence/lesson plans/challenges. 

He doesn’t think he’s ‘enough’ and  is suspicious of being tricked. His rigidity to others (when people try to hug him or show him genuine affection, you can see it when the members compliment him ‘too much’ he gets really rigid) can even come across in his self-expression, but most prominently in his facial expressions (moon). 

Self-doubt is a prominent theme with this aspect, and you can see how it plays out so much in Namjoon’s life. 

His own self-worth, his easy acceptance of criticism that are completely unfounded hurled at him, his sympathetic and giving nature that isn’t extended towards himself (such a Pisces Saturn- Sag Moon thing)-- makes it harder to accept genuine love and support from others because of this Moon-Saturn aspect.

They’ve been conditioned since early childhood (Saturn doesn’t stop/start at a certain age) to expect negatives, challenges, difficulties. Even when looking forward to the future, they’re always trying to balance/counteract the negativity instead of inviting the positives. 

This is because Sag-Pisces wants the positive to come, but what they can do to help is ‘tackle’ the negatives. This method instead, manifests/invites the negative stuff even more to themselves. 

It’s like someone who has a negative aura around them and says negative thing isn’t going to invite positive things to them from others y know? It doesn’t work that way. So their self-projection/counteracting this negative problem isn’t going to help them in any way. 

The lesson Saturn is truly trying to give here, is the strength to overcome the negativity. To project positivity into their life. Because Sagittarius and Pisces both have so much potential/resource for it already. 

They’re literally two of the most positive signs in the entire zodiac. It doesn’t make sense that they would feel so defeated by what? big bad Saturn? No, the point of this lesson is to use their best trait, their positivity and power-- empower themselves with that. 

Stop being doormats. Saturn is illuminating them in the worst light (Sagittarius-Pisces as their worst) so to counteract that, they have to show their positive/best trait. Project it outwards. Actively stand up for themselves. Be able to face their fears, show vulnerabilities (Pisces-Sagittarius) be open to accepting love from others. 

To gain strength from themselves is to overcome Saturn. To be emotionally vulnerable and available to receiving other people’s love, that’s part of empower themselves. That’s what Saturn wants. 

Libra Mercury | 2nd Decan (Uranus/Aquarius)

It’s no wonder his Libra Mercury is working so well with his Sagittarius Moon. 

When it comes to emphasizing with others/understanding things from another’s perspective (air), his emotions (moon) and thoughts (mercury) collide- bringing  forward a genuine way of phrasing things. Because he can stand behind it. He understands it, he’s opened himself up to receiving it like a bowl being filled with water (emotions-thoughts) 

The earlier Moon-Mercury aspect really is serving him well here. That can’t be understated, it’s probably one of his most powerful/well-used aspect as well. 

With Libra Mercury, their verbal expression (externalized) is relating to things. An ability to express thoughts/opinions outwardly that’s definitely going to make people feel like they’re being represented/respected sincerely by him.  

Self-expression geared towards understanding the person. Libra as a Venus ruled planet, focuses on social relationships. One on one relationship+conversations, as well as how others come across socially/publicly. What we relate to and what we try to stay away from. 

Libras are critical of these tiny details, they’re able to pick up on it at an almost intuitive level. Because their brains here are geared towards taking cues from these direct/atmospheric quality all the time. 

It definitely feeds into his observative nature, but more than anything it’s not overused. It’s a tool to help him navigate the social circle/crowd, and over-abundance of Libra can compromise a lot of his other placements that definitely wouldn’t benefit him in any way. 

Indecision comes from whether he’s going to choose to appease the person or appease the crowd. Who the audience is, who’s being mediated for. 

There’s a purpose to Libra, kind of like an identity/angular house. There has to be a recipient to a relationship, and who is he giving this information to has to be there for him to perform properly.

Moments when Libra doesn’t have this recipient/audience is when Namjoon probably uses his Scorpio/Sagittarius the most. When the audience is directed/aimed at us, it slips into this Libra Mercury. 

Making it seem smoother and more complacent than the actual issue being addressed. The style in which he does thing, is directed by Libra.  

When Libra is in the sign of Mercury, they are analyzing the person and what is being said. They can find themselves making direct contact with the person in question (source) and listening to them, or mediating naturally (with their consent or without) between two people. Libra Mercury need this contact (from source) in order to pull their own analysis into context. 

(Namjoon being observative of the person - Virgo Sun, as well as his natural enthusiasm for learning - Sagittarius Moon, also brings a genuine focus/sincerity and genuinity to this Libra part as well)

Part of Libra Mercury’s argument is based around direct quote + atmospheric context. That’s how they come across as such good mediator or diplomatic, because they know how to weave evidence and substantial frame of reference together. It’s not intuition, it’s analytical.  

They can find themselves quoting/repeating what the person said (paraphrase) and adding outer context to the information to explain it back to the person themselves. Things like, how other people are receiving it, social custom, conditions/connections. Social conditioning/frame of reference is their go-to sources of back-up information.

If it’s not something they have knowledge about prior/unsure about, they rely on feelings instead. (Jimin’s prominent Libra Sun/Mercury as clue to his focus/Libra nature)

Feelings are sure-fire way to relate to others. Because you can’t deny emotions, it’s purely subjective and personal to everyone. It’s something that we all share, yet at the same time we can’t disprove or deny. (Subjective to the person, but also objective as a concept?)

So if they explain it as an additional context (relate/put themselves in another’s shoes) -- it’s a very direct way or relaying it back to the person they’re giving advice to.  

Libra mercury is an air-sign, so heavy handed emotional talks/intimacy earth/water sign might want can be hard for them to relate to/understand. (Also ties/made difficult by Namjoon’s Virgo-Capricorn Sun- if it’s somehow working with each other/influencing each other - unaspected but if it ties in together/back each other, maybe?)

Their way of consoling someone mostly consists of giving practical advice, or relying on these ‘back up resources of information’ (substantial things) instead. 

They can seem kind of invested in the rectifying of mistakes, or being truthful/honest in order to solve the problem. Rather than the person themselves or what they’re asking for (emotional concern, a pat on the shoulder, some kind of sensitivity)

This is just how Libra is as a Mercurial sign. It’s prevalent in their other placements as well (even in Venus) so while they do think emotion is a great source to rely on/back up from-- their connectivity to it can be limited to how useful it is. 

And a surface-level understanding of it’s importance (personally/socially) instead of actually relying/living in it (like water-signs do).  

Libra Mercury: Nature/Development -> Progression

Libra as a cardinal sign sees shifting opinions/ideas as part of the process, to reach the true conclusion rather than an indecision on their part. 

When Namjoon thinks about things, it’s rarely a conclusive thought. He’s always on-going in the process of shifting/adapting, the thoughts he has are his identity at the moment, but he is always searching/growing for more. 

Cardinal energy of a Libra is through that directness and truthfulness they have to themselves, they don’t actively think of themselves as Venus-signs. They aren’t afraid to play devil’s advocate or even just be contrary to prove the point they’re trying to make (without rocking the boat too much, within controllable bounds/conditions).

In fact the whole point is that true balance/harmony can’t be achieved, unless they instigate it/demonstrate it through their actions (throwing chaos into the mix sometimes).

Libra is a cardinal sign because of this fearlessness. They aren’t afraid of the consequences/danger of the process, because they know that the end goal is to be harmonious/peaceful (before it crashes into chaos again). This wave that keeps going, this shift/adaptation is part of why they’re the air-sign of the cardinal/angular house. 

They aren’t afraid and they emphasize/light up the positive (harmonious) despite engaging in the chaotic part of the cycle as well. It’s why Libra comes before Scorpio, because this little wave-cycle they have going on is simplified. Scorpio brings an entirely different type of transformation to Libra, an overwhelming one that they can’t control. And to Libra, loosing that faith/balance and stability (their reliance on their back up resources) is terrifying. Their little doll house; the suburban neighborhood with the minor little details/conflicts (chaos) they can control is falling apart. (that idle-ness they rely on)

This is world-changing/life changing personally. It’s the horizon (DSC/7th) finally coming into the sunlight/daytime. The shift from personal to social that Libra is starting to sink it’s feet into makes them grow, adapt, lose control. That instability in their life is what draws Libra into turmoil.

So yeah, Libra (in any placement) does rely a lot on the stability that they have. Doesn’t need to be material like the earth signs, or internal like the water-signs. They don’t like to be thrown off balance, or lose control (censored in their thought/speech) because they like to be in control of the situation. This is prevalent in both Namjoon and Jimin, not just because of this Mercury Libra they share together. (With Namjoon it’s also part of his Virgo/Capricorn pride/ego.)

They’re not angels like, they don’t actively consider themselves to be pure beings. They understand that balance/cycle and they live with it. The in-control aspect has a lot to do with ‘rocking the boat’ Libras are said to hate. It’s less about, playing devil’s advocate or something and more about doing things within bounds they can control. Even if it looks different to others. ( ‘woah this person is really said this x this x this’ versus ‘this person is indecisive/hasn’t made up their mind yet’ )

Going back to the point where they’re analytical of things that has to do with atmospheric quality, sometimes they’re so cunning and they use this to test others. They can sometimes play devil advocate occasionally, they know when to listen and when to talk, but sometimes they would talk for the purpose of getting the other person to participate in the conversation -- even just to tell them to shut up. That shrewd/observative nature to more than just what’s being said is absolutely ingenious (and indicative of Libra’s tactfulness) 

Libra is a good mercurial sign to be in mostly because it’s in between the naturally chatty/good natured Gemini (which rules Mercury so-- air signs have it good) and the fixed, heavy-hitting Aquarius.

 They know how to engage, push a little, but also how to let things go. That’s how they compromise, making a point (usually by pushing justice/fairness as the main topic onto others) before letting things go. 

Aquarius is said to be exalted in Mercury, Libra utilize the best of that ‘pushiness’ Aquarius Mercury has-- just enough, to make it’s point and then let go like a Gemini Mercury’s explosion/drop and go. They’re truly the middle child of the air-sign, and they really do fit in with their family (elemental signs) this way (sly, opportunistic and sometimes even sneaky).  

A part of Libra Mercury might be loosing track of/knowing their own mind/process (as much as they can connect/bring others together.) With themselves, they’re kind of lost on how they process things if it’s not in the now. They’re not retrospective/self-reflective because they’re constantly in the ‘now’ part of a lot of things.(Air)

A lot of their understanding of their own thought/minds comes from feedback/responses from others instead. This is the ‘support’ or ‘stimuli’ Libra takes, because unlike Gemini-Aquarius who focuses on object-to-object Libra focuses on person-to-person. The need for stimuli in another person is more prominent this way. 

Other people’s feed back serves as ‘stimuli’ -- it’s not like they’re taking the person’s word personally/directly because they like to weigh their options (indecision from other people’s perspective), but they’re always optimistically curious about what other people has to say/observe about them.

They keep themselves open this way, sometimes even coming off as unassuming/naive to their own thoughtful nature/tact in diplomacy because it creates a ‘bowl’ for other people’s opinions (’water’) to fill. 

This support/stimuli is crucial to them, as they gather response/support they feel fueled by it. (Most prominently is Jimin’s love for compliments/acknowledgement, Namjoon has a harder time accepting compliments/care that way because of his Moon-Saturn but also Mercury-Mars below)

From other people’s perspective this can come across as needing reassurance/validation, Jimin asks for it directly (Scorpio Venus/Gemini Moon). With Namjoon it’s in nervousness/anxiety that comes with it (Sag Moon on top - Virgo Sun/Cancer Mars). He fiddles or fills the air (distract) when he’s nervous/anxious about things.

Libra Mercury: Perfectionist 

Oh yeah and definitely within their own mind, there’s a perfectionist streak. It’s the attention to detail they pay outwardly to others (as explained above) they pick up inside of themselves as well-- with it being part of their mind, they tend to put themselves up to that standard even if it’s completely ideal/bonkers -- if they aim for it then it’ll become possible someday right? (Cardinal).

Comparison and criticizing themselves because the ideal is far from what their mind/themselves is capable of doing right now, they’re quite harsh to themselves because they always aim to pay attention to/care about the little details (atmospheric quality + what is being put out directly from their brain)

They’re their own biggest critic, and because it’s their thoughts/mind there’s no shutting that voice up. (Mercury)

While others might think they’re too harsh on themselves, the conflict inside the Libra Mercury is that they know they’re not being fair to themselves. Thats the whole entire problem, they know it but they can’t stop it. 

Because the way they go about doing things -- externalizing/expressing themselves has always been based around this constant evaluation, this critical analysis, this weighing and paying attention to the details and people.  

Once they pay attention to the people part it becomes a problem of holding themselves to a standard others wants to see from them (or what they think people want to see from them). They gain so much from people, as stimuli and as a purpose (to solve, mediate, to help) they need to give back. 

They need to push themselves harder, truly balance all the good they’ve received by giving others the best side of them at all times. And if they can’t do that-- then they’re not doing good enough right? 

It’s like, as much as they preach/give advice about apologizing to others and compromising, ending conflict through good resolution, giving practical advice to the end/conclusion of a fight: “if you did bad and you can see that you did bad then you have to apologize” -- that’s their go-to advice on how to end a fight/conflict. 

And yet to themselves, not being able to reach that standard/give back to other is the same as not apologizing, they see it as them doing bad. 

In this context, the answer to their problem is simple: reach that standard and you’ll be ‘apologizing’ (ending the conflict.)

If you can’t do that, then you haven’t repent fully yet, you’re still ‘bad’ because the other side haven’t heard your ‘apology’. It’s about that communication from themselves outward that’s the problem. That’s really coming into the mix here.

This is more prevalent in Jimin (directly) than Namjoon, just through broadcast alone. But thought process wise-- there’s a lot going on inside of Namjoon emotionally (from the moon) and personally (from the Sun) that he’s faced this type of opposition before (that saturn-aspect and Capricorn/Aquarius influence - trad. ruled by Saturn as well). 

He’s coping better with it because it’s never been an easy-part of himself to deal with. And he’s had faced this kind of opposition all his life already. He probably knows better than to just, rely on that voice inside his head alone. Which is why it’s kind of pushing him to use that Sagittarius Moon more as well (I guess it’s better than the two evil maybe).

Aspects

Mercury (Libra) - Square - Mars (Cancer)

Acts without thinking (Mars-Mercury) which can be a hit or miss without Namjoon. 

Usually it’s unintentional, playing into his clumsiness that Sagittarius Moon brings (focuses on the bigger things, impression rather than details, loses track of the smaller details/everyday life/now that his Mercury would’ve otherwise focused on)

He’s however, very enthusiastic and lively. Able to join/encourage harmonic quality to invite stability into his life (Libra-Cancer). 

This also plays into the dramatics/exaggeration his Sagittarius Moon already feels (and expresses) but with a Cancer Mars, his temperamental nature is put the fore-front as well, being unable to hide his facial expression/emotions when he’s frustrated or feeling restricted (that run episode where he’s accused of being the manito). 

A lot of energy put into throwing himself into work, particularly when he doesn’t want to over-think it (super analyze it like Mercury Libra wants to do) at the same time, when others have really great ideas he can go full-throttle on it even though the other is hesitance.

The Cardinal-Cardinal nature here pushes him forward in instigating stuff, not really into maintaining/seeing it to completion (in it’s ultimate form).

Scorpio Venus | 1st Decan (Mars-Pluto/Scorpio)

Scorpio Venus have this energy about them that comes alive through their charisma. 

This rawness is facilitated from a motion (transformation) but also a drive for action (Mars trad. ruler). 

When it’s in Venus -- they have an allure that just seems so contradictory yet magnetizing to be around. 

Part of that power/drive that fuels Namjoon’s voice/rapping comes from this Venus (self-expression). It’s how he styles himself, but also his performance as well.

Jimin who has the same Scorpio Venus, you can see the way he sings and the way he dances (self-expression) is tied into this as well. 

With Jimin his Libra (ruler Venus) is pulling the power/force of this Scorpio into his mercury (singing style) and his dancing (Mars) is fueled by this love for self-expression 

Scorpio Venus: loves for dance, Scorpio Mars: how he dances (but also low key: igniting that love for physical self-expression through dance as well - Scorpio Venus)

Namjoon’s powerful rapping style comes from this Venus as well, how he expresses himself. With the rap-line, you can see the influence Mercury-Mars-Venus has. Namjoon with his Scorpio Venus, Yoongi with his Aries Venus, and Hoseok with his Pisces Venus (refer to their mixtapes)

Arguably, Scorpio ‘Motion’ is less of a straight-line like Cardinal signs (Aries) but more of a spiral. It feels like walking up a spiraling staircase without any knowledge of what actually lies at the end. 

The reason it’s contradictory/’spiral’ is because Scorpio’s aggression (Mars) drive/will-power is being channelled through Venus, the planet of social relationship. 

When it comes to externalizing this drive/will-power Scorpio Venus are heavy-handed with how they come across, their aura and intensity is aggressive (maybe not always stylistically, but the energy input/focus is there)

Scorpio Venus has a ‘magnetic allure’ because of this energy input, they’re subconsciously putting it out there. To other around them it’s kind of like ‘feelers’ for the native, whether the other person knows it or not they’re always trying to seek that same ‘energy/intensity’ that others might provide. These invisible feelers (energy output) latch onto others when they ‘connect’ or are ‘noticed’ by them.

It’s kind of like tentacles? But like invisible tentacles made up of energy. If you don’t share the same wave lengths with them you won’t notice anything out of the ordinary. 

But the moment these feelers ‘feel’ you/notice you, people are struck by how magnetizing they are because they’re (the energy) is an extension of the native (Scorpio Venus)-- directly contacting another person.

So if you think of these invisible tentacle feelers as Namjoon seeking the same energy output another person (Scorpio Venus seeking the same intensity/energy) the moment they latch onto someone/something, it’s a personal/direct connection from the Scorpio Venus to another (tentacles because it’s an appendage, a part of their personal identity)

This line of connection then allow the native (Scorpio Venus) to dive deeper into the other person, completely uncovering them, measuring them, feeling them out energetically and fueling this ‘will-power/drive’ into someone/something. 

Scorpio Venus ‘obsession’ isn’t a ‘baseless obsession’ at all, but like a permission to connect to others at their energy level. It only becomes prominent when they ‘latch on’ and have a ‘connection’ to someone/something.

They can’t have an obsession with something without that prior connection before hand, it doesn’t make sense to the Scorpio native. Scorpio seeks the deeper meaning, that intensity and that inner focus/drive. The core power they have inside themselves, they want to understand/learn about it. 

That’s why they seek it out/want to see it reflected in another person, so they can build that connection to them and try to investigate/figure it out from there as well. 

That’s part of why these feelers are invisible in the first place, it’s to screen through others who might not share the same energy/doesn’t understand them. 

The core focus here is on the self, through others. Understanding themselves and their energy level by seeing reflected/measured against another person, and being able (given permission/relationship) to investigate through two individual instead of just themselves. (7th house -> 8th house, trying to balance between the two)

They’re utilizing this social relationship Venus brings, to understand themselves through others. Learning lessons/values that are important to them, as well as transforming themselves, discovering who they are along the way.

They know themselves best, and Scorpio Venus are extremely loyal and steadfast people. It’s not easy connecting to anyone energetically and being able to search/scrutinize the deeper part of another person’s psyche. 

To get to this point, they know the other person had to go through a lot (whether they realize it or not) they’ll always try to repay it back in devotion and loyalty. Utterly and totally to the other person because that’s what Scorpio values.

They’re even-handed and generous with what they give back to others, even though their motivation can seem kind of selfish at first. They have no qualms giving others precious things if they know it means a lot to them, an eye for an eye and a heart for a heart is the Scorpio’s motto. The price is paid in full, no debt afterwards. They don’t like having regrets later. 

Scorpio Venus: Developing/Transforming 

A part of how they are utterly devoted/loyal is because the driving force/will power is focused on being self-disciplining as well. 

When they focus on a certain goal that has to do with others (like benefiting others without themselves reaping the rewards) they’re utterly selfless. 

Scorpios who haven’t discovered this part of themselves yet can feel like they’re unstable/unbalanced-- seeking stability and needing to constantly ‘energy check’ with others in order to stabilize themselves out. 

It’s part of why they feel out of control of spiraling into a mess sometimes, because their motivation/goals can still be about the self/me. 

When they focus more on the ‘others/them’ they begin to settle into their relationships better. It’s the transformative stage that Scorpio goes through in order to get to Sagittarius. 

That independency and happiness in solitude, that self-serving photosynthesis Sagittarius has. 

But also the bigger trait of Sagittarius such as teaching others/generosity aspect as well. Getting out of their own head and moving towards giving to others is the end goal for them. 

A lot of the time, because Scorpio is fixed, the travel-time is longer/harder to push through. The meat of the lesson is in the succedent houses/fixed signs, to let go of things and moving through the transformation/growth is the longest part of the story.

It’s like if you were to build a narrative between the cardinal, fixed and mutable signs -- the Cardinal is the character introduction, setting the scene, the beginning and it touches on the conflict a little. 

The Fixed is the progression of the story, how the plot progresses. Weaving the trouble into the main story-line, when everything is at the highest point of tension the climax happens. The fixed deals with this too, they progress through the climax and just as the problem resolve--

-- It goes into the Mutable, looking at the resolution of the story. The transformation that happened to the character, from the Cardinal till now, the unweaving of the problem and other context cues that slowly relaxes because of the resolution. It’s that extra chapter to the story that looks at things a few years later, or gives a hopeful ending.

But you know the story continues on, whether you’re reading/watching it or not because there’s always going to be a different chapter to read anyways.  

Anyways point being, Scorpio’s transformation chapter is long because there’s a lot to touch here. Whenever there’s a fixed sign it’s always a long arduous journey to find that climax and come to the conflict resolution part you know? When it’s mutable sign it’s finding a good part to end the story because THAT’S another problem all together. It’s not about finding the climax, it’s about resolving everything to a point where you’re satisfied/feels evened out with everything.

Scorpio Venus: Conclusion

There’s a warmth that comes with Scorpio Venus, as a water sign they connect with others this way. Those who know them well know that they are steadfast and warm, they’re dependable people (even if their life feels like a mess to themselves personally.)

It’s part of that Scorpio charm, because they’re so giving and tactile-- their opposite sign Taurus/rules Venus can give Scorpio Venus a similar sense of being good at love/intimacy even if they themselves don’t think they are (can grow to learn more about it.) 

Since they’re a Pluto/Mars sign, there’s always a kind of forcefulness to their interests. Whether it’s a person, people or hobby/object. They pursue their love/self-expression in a manner that’s driven and focused.  

It’s also part of building upon/sustaining the 7th house/DSC/Libra that talks about social relationship. Scorpio are good at relationship, they just have a hard time figuring it out. 

Because they gotta confront this ‘climax’ part of the story the narration is going into. And also multitasking themselves/their own transformation as well. Multitasking means putting their will-power/core-drive/energy into splits and that’s something Scorpios aren’t good at (but Sagittarius is).

Venus (Scorpio) - Conjunct - Jupiter (Scorpio)

His social relationship depends a lot on giving to others, generosity and even-handedness. It’s about giving and receiving it back from others, that’s an equal relationship for him.

Always open to receiving/learning from others-- he connects to people socially and maintains his relationship with them through this trust/reliance on each other. At the same time, he can be extremely critical and wanting to see the ‘core value’ of people to fully trust them.

Surface level trust stems from mutual agreement and open-mindedness to each other, co-operation is a huge key here. But to actually maintain/have him back you up he has to really connect to you energetically as well. The intensity has to be there, you got to have depth and layers to your thinking, feelings, interpretations and thoughts. 

Again it’s that ‘mysterious’ thing Scorpio are attracted to, but dumbing it down a little it’s just layers. He has to know you’re conscientious and not a mindless corporate monster. 

Not weak-willed without your own sense of direction. There has to be that toughness there for him to depend on you/you depend on him. It has to be equal (Jupiter). 

Venus (Scorpio) - Trine - Saturn (Pisces) 

This is ...so surprising yet so heart warming to see

Having his love in a positive aspect to the planet of long-term establishment, this could point to how long lasting his love for his artistry/career is. 

Especially since both of these planets are in water-signs, his emotions runs deep and Pisces talks about artistry in particular. 

The intensity of Scorpio Venus (his love) channeled positively on long-term goals and plans into the arts. 

Pursuing music really was a life changing career goal for Namjoon. How deeply his love for music runs. 

Imagine younger Namjoon who just suddenly popped a presentation to his parents explaining why and how he should pursue a career in music.  Something so simple, yet so risky. It was just a thought, something that others sees it as ‘oh he’s probably going through a phase/wanting to try things out’ but having this aspect-- Namjoon probably has some idea of how deeply his love for the artistry ran, and he was willing to put his love on the line for this single chance.

It’s how he feel connected to others (Venus) it’s how he pulls his dreams (Pisces/Neptune) into reality (Saturn). 

Since they’re water signs, that’s some risky and tumultuous shit right there (emotionally). It’s like staring down a cliff into the dark stormy water below and trusting you’ll survive because you’re putting your trust/love/life on the line here. 

Music isn’t just a love for Namjoon, it’s something he breathes and consume. 

Scorpio intensity is so hard to describe, but it’s something you feel in your soul. Its your eyes opening for the first time, it’s that hitch in your breath and then the sharp inhale, it’s your senses coming alive--  including your heart and soul as well. 

It’s feeling like you could be caught at any time but you kept running anyways, with the frigid wind whipping your face and finger tips slipping away clumsily from your hands as you laugh and try your best to run. 

Cancer Mars | 2nd Decan (Mars-Pluto/Scorpio) 

When he has a grudge, he doesn’t let shit go like ever. 

Like emotionally he does, but how it affects him personally is that he has to digest it and use it to transform himself.

The hurt and hate he receives, it becomes food/fodder for him to turn into self-improvement (Scorpio/Pluto - transforming himself)

He’s already critical of others, this Cancer Mars rarely lets anyone in unless he feels like he can share/connect to emotionally as well. 

There has to be balance/stability because Cancer Mars wants that in their life. Family and domestic scene is a big thing for Cancer Mars to feel comfortable with people. 

Cancer Mars with the influence of Scorpio finds themselves with an abundance of power they don’t always know what to do with. 

Namjoon constantly over-estimating his own strength is key to this since sometimes he can have emotional outbursts (from Sagittarius Moon) that ended up in flapping of hands/arms/legs. 

Cancer here makes trusting himself (particularly himself physically) even harder, because it tends to hide behind it’s shell or cower back from things it can’t control (outside of it’s shell). 

Validation/reassurance about how he looks/appears physically is also a part of this. Most people think it would have to do with Venus, but when Mars is in a sensitive/semi-vulnerable position insecurities regarding how we come across physically is more prevalent here.

In contrast Venus-aspects (harsh aspects) tends to talk more about vanity or excessive vanity in a person. Lack of vanity/physical appearance might have more to do with Mars. 

Anyways, that’s part of why they want stability/reassurance because it builds confidence/they feel in control of themselves that way. Trusting in themselves and coming out of their shell is encouraged through this example. 

Cancer-Scorpio natives are planners/schemers, Scorpio brings a sharpness/analytical to the Cancer’s sensitivity here-- heightening it to their external environment/how they come across. 

People around them are also observed and dealt with accordingly. Sometimes Namjoon can look at members interaction that’s going on and evaluate very quickly whether or not he should get involved/engaged with them. The shadiness he expresses in his face, the sheer sass that he projects is Cancer Mars dealing with things.

It’s also a part of his thoughtfulness/caring nature that’s exerted/shown outward. 

Because he shows it physically, it makes Cancer Mars dependable people others can rely on through demonstration/consistency. 

It creates stability for others to rely on them, although they’re not outwardly nurturing they are sensitive to other’s emotions/moods and always looks out/protect/shield them whenever they can.

Cancer Mars: Dealing with Shit

They can also behave in a very-- aggressively passive-aggressive way. Because it’s not like Libra who’s lingering on the indecision side of passive-aggressive, Cancer Mars knows why they’re frustrated/mad and they want to unleash it (Cardinal). 

But they have to connect to others first to make the first punch, like edge the other person on so they get the clue before they really serves in the punches. It’s really just frustration honestly.

It’s because they’re resistant to change and they don’t want to get hurt themselves, that’s why they edge other people on to make that change for them-- force themselves into a corner so they have to fight/retaliate back (thus cardinal to tackle the problem once it presents itself). 

It’s like boxing? you duck when the other is attacking and you throw a jab/punch in there to retaliate. The movement is similar to what Cancer Mars is trying to come across with. But in terms of-- emotionally and physically.

Jin does it too, but he has a Scorpio Mercury and he just kind of snaps at the other person directly (Capricorn Venus - socially tends to be pretty direct) Yoongi does it too, but he has so much Pisces Mercury/Sun in the Cancer decan it’s all suppressed under that Virgo Moon-- pressed into becoming a grudge. 

Namjoon’s the type to use his Sagittarius Moon first to react, raging and getting all up about it. If he feels like he can’t outright protest, he resorts to his Scorpio Venus’s analytical nature to figure out the best way to hit it (Mars trad. ruler Scorpio but also social relationship) and exert himself with this Cancer Mars. 

Out of all the Cancer Mars Namjoon seems to be the one who goes about it the most passive aggressively (which mean it’s working well for him) Jin just uses his Aries/Scorpio to direct it out immediately. While Yoongi is more of the wait and see grudgey type. 

Jin and Yoongi probably more of the type to go back into their shell when hurt and confront it themselves first, while Namjoon’s pridefulness (along with aspects such as his Mercury-Mars) and rage sends him spiraling it outwardly most of the time.

Of course he’ll react like Jin and Yoongi too, but what comes naturally to people of the same placement can be different from one another. It’s just a matter of figuring it all out, the hierarchy and everything in their chart. How direct/open it’s flowing with one another.

Anyways, Namjoon Jin and Yoongi are all very tenacious and it shows. This is a common trait between Cancer Mars, their dedication to their work once they put their mind to it. 

As much as they need security/validation before they take any physical action (sensing/edging into the territory) once they choose to step foot in the direction they take charge (cardinal). 

Cancer are defensive but they’re not stagnant about it (not like fixed signs). They move forward, they’re constantly growing/learning as they integrate knowledge/feeling little by little.

Although they can appear slow because they’re not like-- aggressively attacking. They’re more like aggressively defensive and tentatively attacking.  

Aspects

Mars (Cancer) - Opposition - Uranus (Capricorn)

Mars aspecting Uranus gives the person a love for the eccentric, unusual and underdog type of people. 

He wants to make a difference for people like that, for people who are suffering from that difference. 

At the same time this need can be brash, acting without thinking. Lacks the stability/focus it needs that keeps Cancer Mars defensive. 

When it’s pulled one way or the other, sometimes it sacrifices the biggest lesson/trait the sign has to learn in order to Win against the other y know. It’s tough like that. 

It also emphasizes both Cancer-Capricorn’s worst trait, which is their stubbornness and inability to listen to others/open up to others. 

Mars (Cancer) - Opposition - Neptune (Capricorn)

This probably brought on alot of his introspective insecurities, since it talks about his dreams/subconscious/vision not being able to bring it through his actions into reality. 

It really emphasize that Depression Feels that Saturn (Pisces) brings about in us. 

A lot of hesitation with not exactly knowing what he wants, and being scared of whether he can manifest it into reality or not

And if he can, then is it what he really wants? Will he regret it later?

Cancer and Capricorn both wants stability before they act, so when they’re at opposition to each other it creates this dynamic where they have to learn from each other, compromise and understand each other through their differences. 

With Mars (activity) and Neptune (dreams/visions/subconscious) it’s wanting to bring/merge everything together but being held back by fear of rejection/criticism. 

Stemming from that initial hesitancy/fear of not knowing exactly how to phrase/word themselves, they don’t know if they can have the go-ahead to do things or if they should wait it out/look for other signs. 

Mars (Cancer) - Sextile - Lilith (Taurus)

This is really cute since it’s at 0 degrees 

He’s always so surprised when people genuinely think he’s handsome/sexy/attractive/charming

Like-- his embarrassment is so genuinely him and humbling. Lilith is the space between the planets, so the void that talks about insecurities and a part of what our deepest fears might be (arguable, since it’s not a planet itself but the space between planets)

Namjoon’s Cancer Mars has the kind of placements that’s more suitable for someone to say he’s a ‘charming gentle oppa who feels kind and caring and like he can take care of others well’ -- so hearing he’s sexy/attractive/charming is such a?? wow I didn’t expect that moment for him.

Conclusion

Alot of the main focus was on the Sun-Moon aspect and placement themselves. For Namjoon, it ties in a lot with his head/heart and overall personality.

His luminary here is where the struggle is really at, everything else is kind of negotiating/meditating between the two, as well as doing their individual thing. 

Because his Sun-Moon ties into a lot of his other placements, the aspect it makes are more observable to see when we look at how it’s manifesting for him. (broadcast, interviews, etc.)

Besides the Virgo Sun/Capricorn Decan stuff, the Moon-Saturn aspect was hard to do. 

Namjoon’s probably been predisposed/conditioned through negative challenges and came to expect it, and stays stuck in that cycle he has to break from. 

It contributes a lot to his own self-worth, self-love and insecurities. It makes him even more reserved, even more sullen and moody. 

It makes him stubborn but also hesitant. Swings between craving/wanting nurture/intimacy and being distrustful/uncommunicative about his expectation and therefore-- hurting others around him.   

It plays a lot into his expectation, and as a leader he probably feels like he can’t develop fully into embracing optimism either. He has to keep an eye out for the team. This doesn’t help with his indecision, keeping one foot in and one foot out in his adjustment/expectation for the future. He can’t fully trust fate to play him a good hand. It does fuels a lot into his Virgo’s critical nature as well as his Libra Mercury’s analytical one though. 

The Venus-Saturn and a lot of the positive aspects we really nice to look at. 

I know I didn’t touch on the duality of positive-negative aspects (I only did one narrative for each one) but you should still remember/see that positive aspects will still have negative trait if used weirdly (and negative aspects will still have positive trait despite being a naturally occurring challenge to deal with) 

We don’t really get to see a lot of harder stuff on Namjoon which is what should be celebrated/looked at to appreciate him, so I hope this reading puts a little more focus on that so we don’t gloss over his hardship/challenges 

Know that there’s a lot of positive things in his chart going on for him too, this is just a narrative that shines a light on his hardship a bit more so we can embrace/appreciate him better (fully).

Again, this is just my interpretation of things, it’s just one narrative in the overall scope of how much we can learn so other ideas/thoughts on the subject are just expansion on the main branch of astrology. Oh god. Oh no. The LONGEST LIST…

The Historical Preservation Society of Fandolin - My first ever dnd party playing Lost Mines of Phandelver! This was a bunch of years ago and I still have very very fond memories. We got our name by a scheme that managed to get us a 1v1 fight with a necromancer and then later an invitation to see some bugbears but that turned out less good. Comprised of Flint the Dwarven Cleric who 100% started a table-wide superstition of warhammers never hitting their targets, Taris the Half-Orc Paladin noble who originated the scheme, Tilwynn Syrr (Mr. Sir)- my wood elf rogue- who continued the scheme and butted heads with Taris repeatedly, and Eileer- a wood-elf beastmaster ranger who we called Grandma for her age and general personality. It was a wild few months.

Ghostbusters - A hard-scrabble group of idiots fight off supernatural threats and actual cannibal Shia LeBouff in the Magic The Gathering setting of Innestrad. The first campaign my girlfriend and I got to play together, and her first campaign! Comprised of her Ness (a Hunter Ranger with RIDICULOUS damage output), my Vermillion Kade (assassin and group dad), a Fighter that died to a Shambling Mound and came back as a Bagpiping Bard whose names elude me, Nessnemo (Nemo for clarity- a barbarian whose outfit consisted of primarily straps and little else), and Anders (A druid who caused the tablewide joke of ‘Bear in a Banquethall’ whenever players do something Very Ill-Advised because they missed a detail of description). We also saw a character named Chrodechild in this game while I took over for a Birthday Two-shot DMing stint.

OG Sendra - The first attempt at a full-length campaign. Comprised of Chrodechild the enchantress that eventually face-heel-turned into a villain, Lorelai Elffei the thief from a town of children who died and came back, Nemo (once more, but tiefling this time), Eseka the Halfling Monk/Bard performer in a circus (I THINK to melil, actually) who died and was restored, and Feverfew- the Drow Warlock of the Archfey.It had a pretty high character-swap-and-death rate. Feverfew the warlock died and became Patrin the Dragonborn Paladin who was then ALSO killed, and Kanseif the Human Barbarian Warrior Princess came about to replace him. Chrodechild turned evil and was replaced with Rhadha the crippled tiefling warlock who had made a deal with hags and had a long contract full of stipulations. Brill had to depart after character moments occurred and came back as Sylvienne Ghost- an Aasimar druid and Therapy Dog. There were further character swaps later on, but by the time they occurred the campaign had begun to grind to a halt.

Shards of the Past - A campaign run by a friend. The party was gathering the broken fragments of a rod of Manticores to fight back against the northern Empire. We were contracted by the queen to do so and BOY we sucked at it but we sure did win the war! A human paladin (whose name escapes me) with a lion-steed named Balthazar, Kestral the human Ranger-assassin (who had bird-themed names for her whole family it was rad), and my gnome Wizard Sullivan Orren du Ghislain-Ameritte III, who slowly descended towards lawful evil as the game progressed. It was a WILD romp. 

ThreaTTT - My second stab at DMing! The players awoke in prison after a night of wildly out-of-hand carousing and had to pay off their debt to society in service to Drann’s public. Mostly monster hunting and character-driven, the first introduction of The Timeless and Sliver of Moon! Party consisted of Tor (half-elf half-dwarf bard who was locked in an endless one-sided rivalry with Fortesque D’artigan- another half-elven bard), Risc Taxis (an assassin from the Talons, the southern Thieves and Assassin’s guild in Sendra, and an addict to Celadon- a opiate that stains fingers blue), and Atonement/Toni- an Aasimar Archfey warlock who was fleeing an engagement and was beholden to the whims of her 12 year old patron. They more or less made a thrash metal band by level 5, and Cera- a merfolk enchantress prostitute- joined up with them after a trip to the Stormlashed Sea. Her name didn’t fit the scheme, but she was loads of fun.

Pile of Idiots/Fortune’s Favor/Dumb Luck - You know this one, Muffin. ;P Comprised of a Fireball-Happy Endlessly-Curious sorcerer, an Extra As Shit 4 Elements Monk, the Queen of the Sea herself, The Worlds Best Bard, Smol Druid with Smol Doggo frond, and Beefest Lizard Tank, these idiots try and save the world- or at least get by.

Trees Beneath the Seas - A campaign that got very away from us, and where Moon received most of his character development. It was a huge party, which I think detracted a bit from the potential RP fun, but I got to be RECKLESS. We had Damon Pyre the Half-Elf-Half-Dragon Sorcerer, Durieal Durnam the OP monk that was killed by the weapon he carried, Saneva Amailo the hexblade warlock of Garagos and certified Edgelord Supreme, Quv the gnome-turned-elf rogue that left and whose player came back with Rue the Pumpkin Queen the human druid, Amaya Arissius the wood-elf Horizon Walker Ranger (who died and was reincarnated as a human), Verath the Dragonborn bard, Persephone O’Dougal the Canim forge cleric, Braugen Rowcron the dwarf barbarian who came back later as Satsuss the yuan-ti artificer, Arlow Rathers the paladin of Illmater and best baker the world has ever seen, Waruk Flamesong the half-orc wizard/cleric who sank the world, and finally Sliver of Moon who robbed, lied, and smooth-talked his way into and out of worlds of trouble as a swashbuckling rogue-fighter-paladin-sorcerer (we got to lvl 30 shit got WEIRD).

Harder Than We Thought - Thrush’s game! We played on the continent of Sivaan- slowly coming under siege by a power called The Parody that wanted to make the whole world just a liiiiiiiittle more interesting. Evelynn Mercado (Parsippany Olapieros) the half-elf blade-bard with ten tons of swagger in a ten ounce body who was looking for her father and making her own name in the world, Thrush Marigold the endlessly sunny sun-soul monk who was learning about his tiefling heritage while looking for his mother, Sir Tim the Halfling Hero For Hire Paladin who was making his tiefling lover and his son proud, Dune the bloodhunter with a Big Problem with hags, ‘The’ Wothe the more traditional halfling bard who was potentially about to be Thrush’s uncle by marriage, Perryn the Air Genasi Beastmaster Ranger and prankmaster general, and a dragonborn sorcerer I cannot recall the name of with terrible eyesight.

Punk! - A portal-fantasy run by our Innestrad DM, with a fantastic set up where he said he had to take a call during our session 0 and walked out. We then all got messages at the table saying he’d been replaced and to not trust him, and when he came back his whole body language was changed and then ‘sucked us into a portal’ via his tome of handbooks he got rebound into one HUGE book. We all played ourselves but better, and it was wild.

Umber Wilds/Aspiring Cryptids - One I’m currently running on mondays! A group of adventurers Doing Their Best. Audhilde Stoneforger is the Eldritch Knight and Battle Goddess who can leap up to 170 feet because I’ve broken my own will. Larken Delmare is the human shadow sorcerer who used to be an elf and came back wrong, she’s got ties to the first lands of Thielle and is dealing with Coming Back Wrong as best she can. Yseult Brighton is a water-genasi grave cleric with both Selune and Shar claiming portions of her soul, she’s been dubbed the World’s Okayest Cleric and is basically a fishbowl made of friendship. Lastly there’s Ekaterina Sheralova, a drow Gloomstaker Ranger with the most flamboyant fashion and cat-like personality whose family is probably going to wind up killing her or trying to.

17. What are some house rules that your group has?

BIG CRITS! You max your primary damage die and then roll the second, so you’re always hitting big when you get that nat 20! I have to beef so much health because of this.

Flanking - Instituted around the In-Person table: when you flank you get a +2 to hit, not advantage. It’s less OP that way.

29. Do you prefer RP heavy sessions or combat sessions?

Usually RP heavy sessions are my favorite thing, but sometimes you just want to hit something. XD I’ve found I really like a healthy dose of both, but I love it when the combat functions to fuel RP, so RP is probs my more favorite kind.

30. Are your players diplomatic or murder hobos?

They’ve trended more diplomatic! I’m grateful for it, and it’s neat seeing what pushes characters into ‘murder’ when they start out with diplomacy.

31. What is your favorite class? Favorite race?

Oh golly, probably Rogue or Paladin for favorite class, but Bard is up there too. I love versatility, and Rogue and Bard are skill monkey classes that are super fun. Paladin’s whole ‘strength from your belief in an ideal’ is also hella fun tho, I like it when paladins draw power from belief not in a god, but in a principle that guides them. Favorite race is harder, I don’t really have a favorite- but I know I dislike playing as Dragonborn, Aarakokra, and Lizardfolk personally. They’re just not for me, I think.
