I often feel really, really bad that I keep not posting for a large swaths of time, so as a bit of an apology, I figured I’d share some of my older wips with you guys ^^ I dunno when I’m gonna finish them, but I figured they deserve to see the light of day at least once.

the absolute funniest thing about the magnus archives is that the most reliable method to stop a supernatural ritual to summon an eldritch horror beyond comprehension is bombs. Yeah I got a 15th Fear for you, it’s called The Explosion

Gefriergemeinschaften
Gretel: Frag mich was Leichteres.
Kathrin: Also ihr hattet keins?
(Wikipedia: Gefriergemeinschaft)

Queer gaze in art and photography of the past
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Konstantin Somov, A Reclining Man, 1936. Somov was gay, and quite openly. Here he painted his lover and muse Boris Snezhkovsky
Paul Cadmus, Jerry, 1931. Cadmus painted Jared French, another artist, while they, as a couple, were travelling around Europe
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alice Austen, Gertrude Dancing, 1899. Alice Austen, a pioneering female photographer, met Gertrude Tate in 1897. They lived together, travelling, throwing tea parties, and riding automobile, until Alice's death in 1952
Wilhelm von Gloeden, Two Men Talking, c. 1895. Von Gloeden was famous for his homoerotic photography and made Italy popular among gay men and lesbians. Although this photo is likely just that, a photo, its meaning is clear
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Louise Catherine Breslau, The Toilette, 1898. Breslau lived with Madeleine Zillhardt, fellow artist, for over forty years. She drew her often, like in this tender painting. There's now a street in Paris called Place Louise Catherine Breslau & Madeleine Zillhardt
Andreas Andersen, Hendrik Andersen and John Briggs Potter in Florence, 1894. Andersen depicted his brother Hendrik, a sculptor and the lover of Henry James who caled him his beautiful Henrico. Hendrik met artist John Potter before James, in 1894, through his brother Andreas. The three travelled together in Italy

a twist in her stomach as she searches for some kind of snide comment or whitty comeback but for once the blonde was kinda at a loss. mouth open just a little but no words coming out. she was awake now; more so than before as gertrude pulled her fully into reality. this wasn't anything. They weren't anything. this was still just sex. In those moments after when she let delusion take over had managed to slip into her every day and willow was left feeling... stupid. stupid for expecting anything more. stupid for talking like it already was something more. it's so easy to forget gertrude has this whole family system outside of her. she was just the pretty blonde sneaking around when the husband and kids were away. Whatever Willow was feeling was irrelevant to the other woman because she was supposed to have known what she was getting into it. gertrude was making that very clear. obviously, she didn't go around talking about the women she slept with. in her tiredness she just forgot - or maybe it was intentional - the nature of this relationship.
willow let her eyes flutter closed as she desperately tried to live in the moment of intertwined fingers and lips against her skin. she wanted to go back to before she made it weird for herself. she couldn't quite grasp how gertrude was so easily pretending like nothing was happening; willow was having an entire debate in her head. and as she heard the word again. a word she had been desperate for mere moments ago, the blonde found herself being tugged back into her fantasy. it was almost too hard to resist if doubt hadn't already settled in her brain. "you're being mean," whispered so quietly, she wasn't even sure if she said it out loud or not. it was all she could think of. whether it referred to Gertrude's sobering moment of clarity or the fact she was even asking her to stay was unclear. however, she still didn't move away because, for willow, it was better to be wanted. it reinforced the idea she already had about herself. that everyone wanted her. even wealthy, successful women with husbands and kids. They just couldn't help themselves. it was shallow but for the most part, so was willow. and maybe she could pretend that was enough? "are you sure? you never normally ask that."
gertrude was a bit taken aback by the comment and instead of defending why they couldn't tell people, she got curious and then took a moment before she asked: "and what would you tell them exactly? i mean, you don't tell people - generally speaking - about everyone you share a bed with." she reasoned, wondering why she felt so thrilled at the prospect of willow possibly wanting to be more than... fuck buddies? friends with benefits? she was married for christ's sake and yet, the idea of that being possible thrilled her.
"so, you have a study group later which sounds... very optional, really... and also not right now." she tried once more and grasped the other woman's fingers with her own, turning her head to kiss up her shoulder and her neck. "stay..."
