"Goryle goniły kangura. Zajściu temu przypatrywało się obojętnie pocztówkowe niebo, kibicowały bez entuzjazmu rachityczne, obdarte eukaliptusy. Spod dolnych odnóży ofiary i prześladowców, obruszone nagłą interwencją w leniwe dogorywanie, wypryskiwały w upał nadgniłe liście sałaty, poogryzane byle jak jabłka, obscenicznie nadwyrężone marchewki.

What a better way to drink your coffee than to listen to this banger and watch this amazing music video. Even after all these years it sends a shiver down my spine. A fine work of art. ♡

Hot take on Jacek Kaczmarski /// Jeśli przesadzam z askami, to powiedz ^^;
Hot take on Jacek Kaczmarski, hm... I don't have anything about him, aside from the fact that once in a while I discover something new from him and I listen to it constantly. Recently it was Upadek Ikara which was perfect for my Hercules: The Animated Series phase XD.
And no, you don't overdo the asks. If anything, I'm disappointed that you're the only one asking about anything.
Come on, people. I can do fandoms, I can do movies, anime and shows. I can even talk about Christmas.

I guess I just miss being a story teller. it's different when you write - when any engagement is online, in words, distanced. I miss sitting in the locker room or in the corridor or around the fire or grill or anything else, and just telling stories to people who want to listen. stupid stuff, profound stuff, anything. not sure why I'm this nostalgic lately but I am, maybe it's spring
today is one of these weird days when I miss high school. I've been reading something now for research and remembered, randomly, one of my most esteemed roles in our class: the re-teller of all assigned reading.
we've had a super harsh polish teacher and she'd throw a fit each time someone didn't read the books or poems that were assigned - and it was high school, of course barely anyone read them, let alone on time - and it'd end in either big trouble for the person she caught, or trouble for the whole class.
and as I would have either read the assigned reading myself, or had a good enough idea of what it was about, I would have the good part of my class gather around me during the breaks before the polish lessons and I would retell the story, throw in some facts about the writer, main themes, all that.
I'd also always try to make it as entertaining as I could - partially because I didn't want the girls to be bored, partially because I just really liked the limelight, and partially to impress whichever girl from my all-girls class I chose as the object of my teenage courting at that time. such a silly memory, goodness, and one I haven't thought about in such a long time
#maybe it's singing along to kaczmarski last night and realising I no longer have anyone I could sing with.#one person I don't even dare to miss due to what I did to them. and the other is no longer capable of remembering#well much of anything. let alone the fact we used to lie in bed listening to whole albums and making collages from paranormal magazines#and maybe it's losing friends and not being a part of any group anymore. strange sort of loneliness when you have a partner and you have#individual friends#but... not a group. nothing bigger.

Jacek Kaczmarski - "Stalker"
youtube
#Cannot stress enough how much I love this song & Kaczmarski's creations.#Had a conversation w/ my bf about Gintrowski/Kaczmarski yet again & I just realized how sad I am bc they don't make bards like this no more.#The emotions in their voices. The lyrics and the whole aspect of how poetical and thought through their songs are. Truly unmatched.#And “Stalker” that's based on the book/Andrei Tarkovsky's movie is one of my all time favourite songs of his.#Y'know. It's crazy how it hits once you're not home. Once you're not surrounded by your own culture and your own people. It's just....#...so different.#I never thought I'd say this but I miss my home. A lot.#But listening to Kaczmarski/Gintrowski/Łapiński helps. A lot. Makes me tear up a little.#stalker#stalker 1979#andrei tarkovsky#jacek kaczmarski#txt#kyu talks

The side effect of me consuming media is that later I tend to listen to songs that have often very loose conotation to said media.
For example, Hercules: The Animated Series made me come back to Jacek Kaczmarski's very sad and poetic songs about Greek mythology. I've had two such songs that I discovered few years ago and sometimes feel like listening to:
One is Powtórka z Odysei (The Repetition of Odyssey), which talks about how Odysseus was an ambiguous character and Odyssey itself may not be based on truth, but it has some inspiring elements (or at least this is a one interpretation of this song).
youtube
The other is Przechadzka z Orfeuszem (The Walk with Orpheus) which is about Orpheus entering the Hades and preparing himself for bringing Eurydice... and later failing miserably.
youtube
Fun fact - about a year ago I've discovered a really cool cover of this song performed by Aleksandra Batko:
youtube
And this year since I started to look differently at Disney's version of Icarus, I statred to listen to Upadek Ikara (The Fall of Icarus), which is mostly about the famous painting Landscape with the Fall of Icarus by Pieter Bruegel the Elder.
youtube
The fact that I was listening to this song while reading angsty fanfics, only put me in the mood.
Either way, this is me, connecting funny children's cartoon with Polish singing poetry from dacades ago.
