Rest in peace Rachael Lillis, you will be so very missed. I absolutely adored your work as Jesse and Misty, and Jigglypuff too, and they remain some of my favourite characters from childhood. (Gosh I have always loved Misty and her voice so much, it's probably why my favourite Pokémon type to this day is water type.)

All this to say, thank you for sharing your voice with the world.

He's so dramatic, like a bitter ex happily showing you proof of why your new gf is a bad toxic person, and you should definitely break up.

as much as i would love to give like. a comprehensive response i genuinely dont think i can get my words together just yet without it being a constant unintelligble stream of 'AND ANOTHER THING-' and bc it's become quite torn in the fandom on if the chapter was good or bad i want like. an actual coherent response here. so i will reblog this if/when i can word it but know IM NOT FUCKING HAPPY

#paragraphs and paragraphs about the villains' endings alone. hawks hpsc president. midoriya's ending #the fact hero society is barely changed and the changes that do happen feel very much TELLING the reader it happened #as opposed to actually showing us how society changed on it. this is smthn ik people will argue w me about #bc yes it was a 400+ chapter manga arguably showing us how society changed but like. did it actually show that #like do u honestly think any community would watch televised battles between TEENAGERS and bad guys #and have the majority of them go 'gah! i cant help but sympathise with the bad guy who just suckerpunched child extra no.28!'#so like. why are they all suddenly on board with massive systemic reinvention. where's the rage where's the bitterness #this wasn't a story on showing the villains as redeemable and working towards society sympathising with them #and slowly painfully coming to a conclusion where japan was ready to change as a COLLECTIVE #this was a story of showing a group of redeemable villains (first step CHECK) getting DEFEATED IN BATTLE #THEY ALL FUCKING DIED EXCEPT SPINNER AND PRESUMABLY COMPRESS #WE DONT EVEN FUCKING KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO DABI AT THE END ONLY THAT HE WAS PUT IN THE EXACT SAME POSITION #HE WAS IN WHEN HE WOKE UP FROM HIS COMA AND DABI WAS BORN. 'DABI' AS A PERSONA MEANT NOTHING #we still have an abuser who didn't come to justice. we still have the corrupt government body now being led by the guy they trafficked #and abused and conditioned into the perfect soldier. do u think maybe his opinions are a little biased in regards to that gov. body #maybe. perhaps. slightly. and we still have hero charts!!!!!! every kid in the last chap is still obsessed w becoming a hero!!!!#and dont get me STARTEDDDDDDDDD on midoriya being a teacher. 'i think it's cute he finally gets a life of peace 🥺#this way he can help the next generation directly 🥺' womp to the fucking womp he was supposed to be the world's no.1 hero #he barely sees his friends anymore. I’m a straight guy and let me tell you, there is no way in hell that I would ever act around my friends or friend the way John and Paul act around each other. They were so clearly inside each other it’s insane that most mainstream people or journalists don’t see that

right?? i feel like the narratives are slowly changing (as we saw a bit with the reporting on now & then) and i do think once paul dies people will probably be more open about speculating. but truly it’s wild how dismissive people are about it when the more you learn about them, the more you HAVE to question it really - they were insane! straight men (especially in britain) may take the piss in that way about mates sometimes but err not THAT much 😭 really, i think you only need to look at john and paul post-break up and see the deep level of hurt and love there to realise that it went so much deeper.

The concept of queerbaiting annoys me. I was told that it refers to a work of fiction pretending to cater to a queer audience but then pulling back from it to avoid alienating homophobes, which is an incredibly specific thing. But a lot of people seem to think that it instead means "any time there's any gay subtex, metaphor, or ambiguity" or "whenever something from 1995-2012 was being a normal amount of homophobic for the era."

#I've secondhand seen the way Sherlock...was.#And yeah that's very pointedly cruel to the audience.#But not everything is that aware of its following to point by point mock them for half an hour.#And I think people forget that for a period there was a unique combination of awareness of gay people and homophobia bad #and a severe need to avoid being perceived as gay (and sometimes homophobic) at the same time #while it was ALSO very acceptable to treat the existence of gay people and homophobia or discomfort with both as a joke #so that whole wink wink nudge nudge dance was a huge thing in some of the 90s and earlier 2000s #and sometimes by doing that people accidentally made it seem even more fucking gay.#Or on purpose. People also forget that yeah gay people could exist as a joke but they couldn't be casual protags or w/e.#It wasn't really done like that.#I think what it's really proof of is that the 90s/early 2000s is long enough ago that people have become illiterate to the cultural cues.#When comedians complain 'you cant make jokes anymore' sometimes this is the exact thing they're referring to.#Gay people being on TV or in books isn't some funny joke you make anymore. Just being gay or seen as gay isn't the punchline it used to be.#People are shitty about it still but it's in a different way now. Being gay isn't as much the big embarrassment it used to be.#Gay tv shows and books are a whole market now. And stuff like Sherlock or supernatural were made right in the middle of that shift.#It's the only way you could position a strategy like this. I don't know if that cultural moment really exists anymore.#Audience backlash is also more massive and in real time.#Now instead of mockery at the idea of idk Dr house md being gay conservatives would see it as a 'culture war' thing.#And non conservatives are more vocal and more liable to criticize. TV shows are seen as keepers of culture in ways they weren't before.#I don't know how to describe it exactly. I'm not an expert and I know I'm missing some pieces or things I wanted to point out.#But yeah I just think people kind of. Forgot how people treated gayness as some kind of cootie disease you had to say #You didn't have really hard all the time. People are still sort of like that but idk the language changed.#A lot of talk about homophobia and queerness is very pseudo-academic now. The distancing happens with different signifiers.#But. Yeah.#☠️#I also think queerbaiting requires a specific kind of intent as a marketing strategy.#Instead of the more likely 'well we have an unintended gay following now so I guess we can throw in some fanservice #the network would literally never allow us to do anything with it even if we wanted to though.'

#tw ed #obligatory MASSIVE do not do this #straight up poison that can kill you from one (1) time #used to be used to induce vomiting #directly the cause of death of karen carpenter and countless others #i wont i swear i wont #but i still researched it bc i was curious #tbh there are easier ways of poisoing oneself than semi illegal drugs #also if yall remember the post about a poison i own: i did more reseach and while that amount would probably kill me w no medical #intervention; it would take just under three times as much to be absolutely certain of hitting the toxic dose (calculated quantity per kg #of the top end of a given range. so it could kill me but if i was gonna go out that way id want about three times as much to be sure.)#honestly surprised ive never heard of any deaths from it. the most likely way to survive would be to throw it up i think #(or present to hospital and take charcoal or smth)#honestly though. my research says loss of consciousness and required intubation within half an hour in case studies #hence if you werent in reach of medical attention youd probably collapse an die #and i am very deliberately NOT mentioning what it is bc of how toxic it is #ive thought of combining it and another method to be absolutely sure but eh #honestly if it DIDNT work it sounds straight up embarrassing to admit to people tho thats one of the things stopping me #but literally a dose in a child requiring intubation and kid ended up in a coma recovered w no ill effects.#thats the dream yk. try and succeed and youre free; try and fail and you see no ill effects.#but yeah i wouldnt try w only the amount i have.#so im safe #....rereading the above. okay i might be a little mentally ill lol #but i am safe and absolutely nobody call the cops on me.#im fine.#tw suicide #puddleglum hours #nobody worry abt me ok. im fine.#just thinking silly lil thoughts like usual :)#EDIT: just occurred to me that using this poison could make it not look like a suicide
