Sengoku always having to be like, yes he doesn't follow the rules, yes he does whatever he wants but also if you send him to do a job that his unpredictable nature is suited for, then he'll get it done. May burn a few towns down in the process, but its fine, all fine. Trust me.

Law in this au trying to through official channels to take down Doffy, gets assigned to work with/babysit Luffy, that is how his Marine contact put it, and Law thought nothing of it until he met the marine.

Luffy, barefoot, long hair, more wild gremlin than person. Since he was raised by Garp, more got raised by wild animals in some jungle ever since being a kid, he did not have those social interactions, Makino did not teach him all of the things. Luffy still believes everyone should be free but in a feral jungle child way, and causes a ton of trouble for everyone, but its a different flavor as he works within the system, breaking it piece by piece from the inside, just by existing.

Luffy not going to stay a Marine for long either, he's 17 and something is going to happen that will push him over the edge and have him quit. (Like one day punching a celestial dragon in the middle of a reverie, his first mind you xd)

Luffy looks around and was like,'Sure, whatever, I was bored anyway' before Law can even get a third of his speech out. He tells Garp by yelling across the marine campus that he gonna go beat Doffy's ass with Law and he should deal with all the dumb paperwork if he wants Luffy to keep being a dumb marine. Paperwork that Garp dumps on Sengoku, who grumbles at Law for putting the idea into the mind of their wild card soldier.

It takes awhile to get to Dressorsa, Law set on having philosophical discussions about nature of marine vs pirate.

Instead of that, Luffy drags him to play and do anything that strikes his whimsy, he fits right in among the heart pirates. Its not long before they consider him family and part of the crew despite his marine status

Luffy not having a single intention of going back, he's having fun. Shuts down Law everytime he tries to say 'we're gonna be enemies one day'

Luffy: Nah

Another thing for the world govt to worry about in regards to Luffy, if Law is at any battle from that point on and not on their side, Luffy is going to switch sides to be near Law. They are only patient with him because of his fruit, and trying to keep it in one place xd

They eventually decide its not worth it, and send assassin after him to the reverie, Luffy punches a celestial dragon, flips off everyone. And joins the heart pirates officially, as far as the world is concerned.

Luffy on the other hand continues to do his own thing, which mostly consists of hanging around Law, and going to chill with some of his marine friends, burning a base down in the process and claiming it as the works of the heart pirates, and not on purpose, he just wears the patches Law gave him and doesnt avoid camera's

Law grumbles about it, but he smiles everytime he sees Luffy in the news, and is the happiest when Luffy is home with him on the Polar Tang :3

Truly puzzled as to what the show means by all this imperial family drama. The parents seem just as toxic as NN's parents but we're supposed to think it's okay because a) their children had every advantage and some of them still wound up rotten at heart? and b) the town children aren't just committing crimes against family - they're crimes against the empire? I'm afraid the parallels ring a bit hollow to me because I truly think the Emperor and Consort Yue are also terrible parents

Interestingly, Murder General says the Emperor will not treat the counterfeiting as harshly as the law provides "because of fairness". We saw Bad Mum also using "fairness" as an excuse to deny NN things that would benefit her as compared to her cousin. Again, wondering what the parallels are saying.

Bad mum is now having sad violins because NN is finally learning that being a parent is hard…but she's learning from the Empress lol the only thing I have to say to that is SUFFER, MA'AM

NN is now reassuring the Empress that parents who patiently teach rather than criticise their children are the best, & she's been commending the crown Prince for being gentle & compassionate rather than a cold politician, so I'm beginning to wonder if there's a muted critique of the imperial family

I am loving so much, so very much, about this show…but I'm finding the humiliation of the antagonists to be a little too thorough and mean-spirited to enjoy, even tho I can see how it is intended to fit in with the themes of fighting for yourself.

Where does the line between justice and vindictiveness lie, especially in a social setting with injustice hard-baked in? One of the principles of justice (at least in the west) is that it must be proportionate to the crime. But the humiliation dealt out in this show often feels excessive to me.

I laughed way harder than I should. I love that NN told two different people to shut up in the emperor's presence. I love that NN has this moment of piercing identification with murder general when she sees him being beaten the way she was. I think the emperor is rubbish, & I think the show knows it

He promises NN that he won't ever lie to her and I have every expectation that this promise will be broken, just like every other cdrama hero breaks that promise

except that I also trust NN to make sure he doesn't get away with it, which is what makes this drama so MUCH fun

murder mystery break!!!! there's all sorts of interesting thematic stuff going on here about communal/family responsibility to educate and socialise children, as well as the difference in appropriate behaviour in the private vs public spheres. But it's fun that our leads are doing it together.

She's wonderful!!!! Her bait and switch intro was funny (but please don't actually corner The Girl One into a love interest) and her stunt saving Carly was so cool, I'm glad we're establishing her right. I wish she didn't look so much Like That, but at least DWJ is as willing to deform her for action as anyone else. Her buccal fat removal look makes her look like a skull, which would be cool if it were on puporse, but it's not so. I like the shade they picked for her, is more of a lilac but it looks pink with the rest of the color palette and meshes well with the setting.

This series is really good at the appel to the inner child thing, because I'm like genuinely excited to see the Autobots have the advantage for once!! But ofc, they can't really because the arc ends next issue and they're not gonna have a decisive win until that.

Tho, Optimus and Cliffjumper are carrying the Autobots in regards to being the heroes we root for. I mean, Arcee and Jazz are very cool and that has their appeal, but I do wish once things have settled and they can interact in more situations that aren't just life and death, because so far I feel like we only get a good grasp of who Optimus and Cliffjumper are as individuals, their personalities. I want to see what makes each Autobot unique.

Speaking of, still absolutely eating the Carly and CJ dynamic. She is great and when she said that what does if matter if she's at risk when her family is dead and Spike is in a coma, that reallly got to me. It's unwise, but Cliffjumper relating to her and bringing her to give her a sense of closure it's really good. I think that this kind of bringing the kid character into danger would be because Carly sneaked her way, or because Cliffjumper would disregard orders for the hell of it. But like this feeeling of "I know how she feels and I would want come in her place too" works really well.

Also, I care about Sparky now, lol. Not that at hated him before. I'm not a fan of the first page, as cool at it look, because comparing OP to the US military like the later are the good guy is mmmm... but I'm loving his rapport with Optimus. And also there's how he looks when he's told the generator will give them a decade of power. It's not like "amazing tech woaaah!" It's softer like... this isn't an affluent town, these are people who are used to struggle and they just lost their power source. Ten years of power like that is a godsend that he can hardly believe that will do the whole town a lot of good and he cares about that. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but you know.

And ooooh dear, I was already unwell over Optimus getting his Megatron's canon arm grafted, but I understimated what seein him actually shoot the canon would do to me. I need... several moments.... the fight scenes are pretty gone but this one was particulary brutal. Optimus is really fearsome. And given how he has been so carefully characterized as this bleeding heart figure, seeing him decimating his enemies so efficient is quite something. And by something I mean gap moe. We love to see it.

Love seeing Optimus hit Starscream where it hurts. But OP saying that last time Starscream was cowering from Megatron's canon brings a lot of questions about the sequence of events in the Ark (which we'll get to see in teh special it seems). And I've been wondering if Starscream had something to do with Megatron falling or dissapearing or whatever, this does make it seem more like it and well, if that's the case I wonder how the rest of the Cons will react.

Man, the Autobots really shined this time and I already forgot what I was thinking about the Decepticons!! But hey!!! Thundercracker is here!!!!!!!! My guy!!! Given that his characterization as per toy bio is the guy that's not so sure about the cause, I wonder how he'll take it when he find out what really happened to Skywarp.

I can be wrong but I don't think there will be jonerys if Jonsa going to be happen. It will be absurd for Jon and Sansa to have feelings towards each other and tried to deal with those feelings with other external issues only for him to fall for Dany too. Already Jon and Sansa suffered enough and still had to deal with things. Shouldn't they get some respite instead being dragged into some kind of love triangle? Jonerys bring nothing in story and to their characters besides unnecessary suffering

Whatever controversy and tension you create with introducing Jonsa as a fake!incest romance, you entirely undercut by adding Jonerys, the genuine aunt-nephew Targcest romance, on top of it.

Narratively, it erases the tension of the former (Incest? No big deal, old hat, been there done that.) alongside the deeper emotional significance for Jon. Since all that sister-incest drama apparently isn't remotely captivating enough to hold his attention and keep him from becoming enamored of a dragonriding invader, one that it turns out he is also related to.

What, apart from the deepest satire, is enabled by such a heaping of bait and switch incest?

Even if you place the parentage reveal very late (erasing all chance at Aegon drama for Jon) and turn it into a surprise accidental incest switch, you're left with a wishy-washy hero who basically goes "Awww, shucks, now I'm related to HER? Guess I can shag the redhead now, because we're only cousins, lol. Surely she won't care I was in love with the Targ queen until three minutes ago and only choose her now that the other one is off-limits. I am, after all, the ultimate and only worthy prize. Aww, CRAP, my platinum forbidden love is now charring a town! Is it my fault?"

Even any iteration of a sexual political!Jon storyline would suddenly place an embarrassing emphasis on Jon as an irresistible man prize no woman can resist, who is "forced to" have sex with the hot dragon queen to save the world and then fall into the patient and forgiving arms of the long-suffering maiden (who would never emasculate him with something as unpleasant as sexual competition, that's strictly for girls to endure)... apparently. Maybe with a "tragic" delay-by-exile to make it look a little less like he gets to have his cake and eat it too. A dream of spring, indeed. "Jon, your ten years are up. Sansa is ready to give you everything you ever wanted now after spending ten years waiting for you after your epic romance with your aunt. You were so very brave."

It erases the significance of the political messaging by making philosophical differences secondary to sexual attraction, and it really hurts the dignity of the female characters involved, Sansa and Dany both, by reducing their "peak" romance to a competition. It erases the concept and importance of fidelity and loyalty, if betraying one's love is either easily done in earnest, or handled like the rational and necessary choice by a true hero. Fidelity is a luxury that women can't ask of men unless they don't want to save the world!

Considering the level of importance GRRM has placed on romantic imagery specifically with Sansa, I find it sincerely improbable that he would reduce her to a reward prop for Jon, a clean and dignified maiden wife and mother-to-his-children as a treat, after suffering so terribly in yet another sexually charged relationship with dangerous and beautiful woman. (Yawn.) The love story she has been waiting for is going to have to be worth the wait? No?

Sansa's perspective on this would be pretty bleak, otherwise. What's the point of jonsa from her perspective? What's so great about Jon's love if he would just give it to a violent invader? What's supposed to be compelling about this romance for Sansa if it's just another disappointment because Jon's best political trick is sleeping with the beautiful enemy? Is pain the lesson here? Is jealousy and humiliation the price to pay for the crime of... what exactly? And what's the price Jon pays for loving Sansa, then? A little bit of feeling guilty for ten minutes before/after sleeping with his hot aunt? Really? That's love? That's romance? That's the future of House Stark? Sansa has no better option anywhere? Jon is literally the best possible guy, so she has to settle for that hot mess?

And what about Dany, who seems to spend her story arc essentially swinging from murder to falling for the wrong guy, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. Girl just thinks with her hormones, apparently. Compelling stuff. At least she gets to make Jon feel a little conflicted, I suppose. A lot of build-up in Essos for that, but anything to serve his story arc.

I don't buy it.

I don't buy it from Jon's perspective, I don't buy it from Dany's perspective, I don't buy it from Sansa's and I don't buy it from GRRM's.

I have never read a proposed storyline for Jonerys that would rival the intrigue of them being allowed to be platonic enemies. The dignity of letting their politics and personalities, not their genitals, take center stage.

Dreaming of Garbage

AKA misc. Tatalov lore dump lol

It's a little late now to be making an analysis post on the Sweet Dreams "Penacony "The Great Tatalov" video, but who cares? I'm still working an Interstellar Journey post and that video has been out for even longer.

The video, for the most part, alternates between two speakers: Shatana and Himeko. Shatana, of course, is Natasha (they share voice actors, and Shatana is an outright anagram of Natasha). Of the two, Shatana is the only one who actually mentions Tatalov outright. Himeko's voicelines can be read as entirely unrelated to the whole Tatalov plotline going on, so for the purposes of this post, I'm ignoring what she has to say.

Most players won't remember this, but the first mention of Tatalov actually occurred as far back as 1.0 through interacting with a trash can in Boulder Town. (Thanks to u/merofsilence for pointing it out, I didn't catch that!) The dialogue is about the defeat of Garbage King Tatalov, by the hands of a younger trash can.

I... highly doubt these roles are fulfilled by Sampo and the Trailblazer, mostly because even in dreams we'd be able to sus out that Sampo wouldn't talk like that, but I digress; it's a dream at the end of the day. (I also have my doubts about the big trash can that Sampo fights being Tatalov, but that's more likely.) Though I do think this will be the same end we see for Tatalov when we arrive in Penacony, though.

The scenes with garbage or those taking place in Belabog are from the Tatalov dream; everything else is from Penacony, or a dream-like version of the planet. One of the inspirations for Penacony seems to have been Inception, a movie about dreams within dreams; so there are layers to these dreams, right? Reality is Penacony as it truly is/the hotel, and the first level of the dream is where all the fun parts of Penacony are. This makes Tatalov's story in a later level.

I imagine that part of the Penacony story (minus the details of interactions with other characters and actual larger-scale conflict) will go something like this:

The Astral Express crew checks into the hotel on the planet and then gets escorted to their respective rooms to enter the dreaming state. After arriving at their rooms, everyone starts to sleep.

We encounter Firefly in the first level of the dream. The photos with Firefly? She's just showing us around. Seems to have been some kind of conflict we're protecting her from and a secret she's hiding from us, too.

Enter the next dream? Or we enter that dream later.

The Trailblazer's dream brings them back to a Belabog populated by Trash Cans (hence the setting being Belabog), where we reunite with our beloved trash and the Big Bad Sampo.

We meet Shatana, played by Natasha, and she begs us for our help to rise up against Tatalov, who regardless of if he is or isn't represented by Sampo, is the Great Evil we must defeat to save the trash.

She tells us, "since that thing from beyond the sky arrived here along with the Eternal Freeze, Tatalov's eyes have been blinded." The thing from beyond the sky is, perhaps, meant to be the Stellaron, and it turned Tatalov into a poor ruler (maybe a reference to Cocolia?). "We must force the Garbage King to mend his ways under the banner of Skyfire" is just fighting back against Tatalov. Skyfire is a curse we can apply on enemies from Foxian Tales of the Haunted to make them explode, dealing Fire DMG... so probably a reference to that, and a nod towards Preservation Trailblazer. If Skyfire here is meant to mean anything else, then my guess is as good as yours.

Firefly might be sharing this dream with us? We do seem to share the dream with her when exploring Penacony (re: speculation that she exists only in a dream), and there was a trash can next to us when we got bombed, followed by Firefly's comment of "what kind of nonsense is this?" Our dream is too much for her, whoops.

I have no fucking clue who Sampo is talking about when he says "Follow me, you two." Like, one of the two people is probably the Trailblazer, but I'm skeptical to assume the second person could be Shatana... so who knows. Maybe Firefly? Anyways, he appears at some point to get in our way and terrorize the trash cans. What a cruel, evil man...

Success(?) and defeat of Tatlov to follow. The dream might end there, or we might enter a new dream, who knows.

As all this is happening, everyone else is down to business and battle and whatever is going down apparently involves whales. Based off the rough timeline from White Night, this would be during the dreaming time.

It's an absurd story we've dreamt up, but given how fleshed out some of the details are and the full on movie poster at the end of the video, it's likely a story we've been thinking about for a while. Trailblazer's Main Character arc to save the Trash Cans!

Parts I wasn't sure where to fit in timeline-wise:

So a massive Sampo throwing us into to Penacony? That happened, I guess. It could be a dream or it could some Alice In Wonderland mushrooms shit, since there was a massive March at some point too, though that was in a dream, I think...

We may have crashed in front of Robin and Sunday after we were tossed down. The ground from the crater looks similar to the ground in the photos.

The part with green framing? I guess that's Sam's POV since the green is similar to his wings. And Acheron teams up with Black Swan and the Trailblazer to fight Sam... why is Black Swan fighting. Does she have something personal against the Stellaron Hunters? She's literally a meme, what the fuck. This is before Acheron has drawn her sword, so this is a different point in time than the one shown in White Night.

There's a quick sequence that doesn't really mean a lot yet; some bubbles, the... watch thingy or whatever floating in Penacony (I didn't pay attention during the livestream, no clue what its called), and some ID cards or some shit. I can't make out the letters well enough to translate them to English but it's at 1:04 for anyone interested.

what is there to say about kinship's bond, one of my favorite defend chapters in the series? it was absolute agony to do this chapter because while you don't HAVE to kill eubans, you absolutely want to because a. he drops a knight crest b. boss kill experience c. the chapter ends the second he dies d. the chapter turn requirement is the max amount of turns spent defending, so basically as long as you kill him before turn 10 enemy phase, you'll be saving at least one turn, if not multiple. the problem is that he's basically in the asshole of the chapter, being surrounded by forest squares and being in the very corner of the map whereas you start near nearly the opposite side. still, getting to him isn't hard if you overextend with marcus/any other non-isadora paladin you might have by this point and just haul ass with a javelin, hand axe, and iron axe equipped at various points. if anything, the hardest part is surviving with everyone up to that point.

LMAO JK did you think i was serious? the hardest part is the dicerolling for killing eubans because i cannot tell you how many times i got to the end only to see "sain is attacking eubans. he has a 70%-80% hit rate and he only has to hit once and is doubling. OOPS he missed both hits" or even better the classic "both hits missed on the enemy phase and now you can't kill him because the forest square he attacked you from is preventing a 1RKO LOL haha". i swear to god it's not even HHM or the ranked run that's making my blood fucking boil, it's the fucking probability always swinging against me in the most fucking improbable circumstances. i had like 2 80%s miss then a 30% to kill hit me. i just. i know it gets exhausting to see me complain about RNG in this game but holy fucking CUNT FUCK does it incense me. like i cannot overstate how mad it makes me because i'm literally not making any mistakes and still losing because of it. i'm trying so so so hard not to mald harder but whatever.

heath got a level and change and got good stats. the plan is to use the shit out of him next chapter by prepping him with a barrier and letting him go to town on as many of the magic units that he can. iirc he's not gonna be doubling but if i give him the short spear, he might be 1HKOing until he either can 1HKO with the javelin or double. isadora meanwhile did 2 things for me this chapter: she used a nearly broken iron sword to kill an annoying mage and then she hauled ass to the secret shop to buy a bunch of shit with the silver card (another physic, two torch staves, two barriers, and a 5 use chest key (i'm going to need this for BBD and NOF i imagine)). the best part about buying a bunch of shit with the silver card is that it doesn't cost any money due to how the game calculates funds, so even if i am overbuying, i'm just making my liquid gold solid.

last thing to note: we're in red alert territory because my collective lord levels are only at 46 right now and FFO is right around the corner. i need to average getting 2 level in living legend and genesis. i THINK this is fairly doable considering there's two berserker bosses next turn and i think i can at least get lyn to kill one of them, ideally eliwood would be able to tank out the other one. the biggest problem is living legend has a short turn count so i have to be quick, but i also need to make sure i'm hitting the experience benchmark. i'll burn turns if i HAVE to, but i want to avoid that at all costs. at the same time, i absolutely refuse to do lloyd's FFO, so the conflicting desires there are gonna come to a head soon.

I have a lot of sympathy for Spencer because Nik really has just been an atrocious father to him. But his devastation over Nik voluntarily staying away never fails to amuse me a little bit.

This story started off with Spencer insisting that he was fine going to war with his father and running him out of town. He and Trina went back and forth on it and Spencer really convinced himself that he was committed to the patricide life. He declared war on him in front of Laura! And since Nik actually disappeared, he's shown obvious signs of regretting that moment. He's clearly been heartbroken that Nik didn't prove him wrong, didn't put up a real fight for him or demon spawn.

There's always that part of Spencer that wants to be wrong about his father, even while he acknowledges he can't count on him, and is pained when he's further proven right. I don't know, I like that Spencer's feelings toward Nik are inconsistent and all over the place because it feels realer to the sort of old money toxic father/son dynamic they have now.

It reminds me of this Succession line where Shiv tells Kendall [about his relationship with their dad], "You must have a hard time finding a happy medium between worshipping him and wanting to kill him." I feel like we're in that ballpark with Spencer lol.

I don't think he wants to kill Nik, but that struggle of wanting his father's affection but also wanting to be the one to take him down. Spencer is always going to want Nik's love, whether he admits it or not, and Nik is currently still moving like Spencer's the enemy.

I think Beth/Ron {darling Pumpkin over @ronmanmob} was surprising because you know, when a man says he prefers other men, you'd think that that would be all that was needed to be said. But there is the slimmest margin wherein one finds oneself with a young lady and brick by brick they built up their friendship. They speak plainly of their mental health, are supportive of one another in the face of tragic family circumstances, offer advice, get the other out and about, and every permutation between. Beth always knew she liked his mouth and his eyes, and over the years, their relationship has blossomed. And they're still learning, which amazes me.

I think both @southern-belle-outcasts' OC Nilza and Marion from @cajuncur certainly surprised the hell out of me. Nilza because they were poised to be enemies, their first interaction basically was a threat that the Latina hunter ought move along to the next town before Beth unleashed the hounds {or in her specific case, an entire Sept of very angry Garou}, and yet...here they are going on their first date a year or so later. And Marion might be the monster that got away, lolol. Beth has some very complicated feelings for the woman, and the rougarou that she is, and she means it very literally when the words "eat me" came out of her mouth. I do hope her mun is well and good and comes back some day.

About Me:

When did you start writing?

I've been writing in some capacity since I was in 4th grade. I first learned the joys of writing when we had a 200 word story assignment. I mostly began actually writing when I had my middle school-early high school wattpad era (i had a story on wattpad called 'symphony of a fallen angel' which is a banger title all things considered) and began text role playing in late high school.

Are there different genres or themes you enjoy reading other than the ones you write?

I mostly write sci-fi and/or fantasy stories, but I love myself a good dystopia or a level-up manhwa (I have a months long addiction to orv). I also love enemies to lovers/rivals to lovers, but having never been a relationship myself, I can't write romance to save a life. (controversial opinion: rivals to lovers is better than enemies to lovers and I will die on this hill)

Is there an author you want to emulate, or are compared to often?

I'm not good enough to be compared to other authors but I love Leigh Bardugo and theendoftheworld (Ao3 writer) so I'd love to emulate them.

can you tell me a bit about your writing space?

Uhhhh it has blue bedsheets, a white fluffy blanket, and a pillow with a grey case that's constantly half falling off.

What’s your most effective way to muster up a muse?

Music, yt animatics/animations, reading, and banging my head against the wall.

Did the place(s) you grew up in influence the people and/or places you write about?

Somewhat, but not in the way you'd think. My hometown was a middle of no where, back country, deep south USA town that probably didn't have enough people in it to call it a village (for reference: when I say were I'm from in cities near my town, they still say "where?"). My stories are almost the exact opposite of that, with big cities and fun fantasy settings. My home town forced me to actually use my imagination because I would've gone insane with mundane-ness of it all.

Are there any reoccurring themes in your writing? If so, do they surprise you?

A few of my reoccurring themes are found family, contradictions, and death (or lack thereof). I love using contradictions in my characters because real life humans are fully of contradictions, even silly ones like a big tough mob boss being a 5'10 28 year old who wears heels to look taller and loves sweets. I also love playing with the idea of being on a life timer (you will die by X young age) or being unable to die, no matter how much you want to. No, none of these surprise me.

Which of your characters would you be friends with in real life?

Me and Haeyun Sin would be besties. We're both chronic extroverts and It'd be beautiful.

which characters would you dislike the most of you met them?

No one really knows this character, but Mirwais. He's kinda stuck up and an asshole. He gets better and he has a reason for how he acts, but he still kinda sucks sometimes.

Tell me about the process of coming up with your characters?

Usually I see a character or a piece of media I really like and use that as a starting canvas. From there, I start adding and subtracting features until I have an original character I'm happy with. Other times, I take a personality trait or a character trait and start building a character around that.

Do you notice any reoccurring themes/traits in your characters?

A lot of them are orphans/abandoned/run aways, and a lot of them are guys lol. The second one is odd, since I am of the female species. Don't get me wrong, I love my fellow women and a well written female protagonist is delicious, but I also just like my men yk

How do you picture your characters?

Just in their normal form? I don't really understand this question lol. When I fantasize about the characters, it's usually a small scene or smth.

How do you want to be thought about by your readers?

I don't like to be taken too seriously because I'm not a serious person. I want them to see me as a normal person, not some person to put on a pedestal. I'll never be a celebrity or an 'influencer', so it'd be weird to treat me like one.

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

Hell if I know 🤷. I don't analyze my writing like that. I don't think I'm overly good at any specific point of writing lol. 'Jack of all trades, master of none' type shit

What have you been told is your greatest strength as a writer is by others?

I've never been told lmao.

How do you feel about your own writing?

Meh. I mean, it's not terrible don't get me wrong, but also it's not some academy award winner. I'm lucky I'm able to write as a hobby lol. I don't think I'd be able to translate my writing into a career.

If you were the last person on earth, would you still write?

The Voices don't stop when all other human life does

When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, do you write purely for yourself, or is it a mix of both?

I'd like to say that I only care if I like my writing, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want people to enjoy what I write. Though, I will say I only care to certain point. I'm not going to write something I hate just because everyone else hates my work. They can suck it at that point.

Today on the blorbo rotisserie spit in my mind is my own dnd character. I just have so many fucking thoughts about her. Especially after last session and I have to wait a full week to get into it and it's gonna be so interesting and just ugh. I honestly kinda want out heist next week to go wrong because the drama of that my god.

Ok so she's kind of a lot to explain. Basically her name is Amy, she's a dwarven wizard and her background is that her parents escaped from a very heavily colonised and exploited area through various questionably legal means, and also questionably moral means when she was still a little kid. Her dad worked his ass off basically establishing the mob in a big city and gaining a pretty significant place of power in said city. After that her life was kinda chill for a bit, she was new money rich girl vibes. Very autistic, lost her mum to disease and had some pretty shitty relationships (her sexuality is something I'm still trying to figure out. She's only dated men and one NB before (literally her only good relationship lol) but there's a couple of places in her backstory where I'm like... Hmm maybe she's a little sapphic and maybe she's not into men at all, still feeling it out) anyway she was working on some pretty insane magical research that her twin sister then stole. A few weeks later said research has very clearly been used on a magically nuclear bomb. Now it was used on literally the same group that was colonising her home nation so there's a lot of mixed feelings there. So Amy goes into a full spiral and basically just goes completely AWOL from her friends and support network trying to find her sister, get her research back and get an explanation for why it was taken and used on a god damn nuke.

Through various logistics she meets the party and decides to ally with them because they're also dealing with several world ending threats and she is desperately lonely and wants to have some people around her that she isn't terrified she's dragging into worse shit by being friends with them. By doing this she meets Tam. Tam is a DM PC who is honestly a lot of the time a vehicle for jokes. He's a rouge and a little bit dumb but he's got a sweet heart and is genuinely brave. Now those two had met before because he worked at a dishwasher in her mansions for a while, during which he stole her curtains. For the first good few sessions they had a very antagonist relationship at least on her end and given that Amy has a tendency to serve a little bit as comic relief when her story isn't being directly discussed it's was kind of a fun thing for me and our DM to play with when the tension needed cutting. Anyway after a few sessions of this I suddenly got the thought "oh my god enemies to lovers Tam and Amy" and we all thought it was funny so we have been running around this weird flirtationship with the two of them for a bit. They had some genuinely cute moments, like him giving her the curtains back so she can furnish her room in the extra dimensional mini van the party live in or her using mold earth to help him garden. At this point nothing has happened but he's noticed her very obvious crush on him and told her he feels the same.

Anyway as this is happening we're involved in this towns deeply complicated political web and simultaneously trying to help out an indigenous settlement and also stop a train that we probably do need to get on from being built because of the harm it will do to said settlement and also because Amy has figured out it is being made with no god damn health and safety procedures. We also then found out that said magical nuke you know the one that has Amy's research in it is being planned or be used on a group of powerful agents in the area. A group that Amy happens to know quite well. Now the leader is kind of a generally bad guy and is also very envious of her father's position and wants his title for himself. But still, he's not bad enough to justify using the nuke. So we're trying to stop that if at all possible, which will also win us some clout that maybe used to better negotiate for the rights of the indeginous settlement.

So the party minus Tam who was off doing a bit, went to go get some information and one of the things we learnt is that the leader of this group is actually looking for Amy because he wants to arrange a political marriage between her and his son. So while we don't have a full plan yet, we're thinking of bringing her to him, getting her to have a negotiation about that arrangement and then assianating him to stop the nuke from going off because of he's gone then it won't, or at least in my head, maybe just a general negotiation with him because it's not like we're particularly fond of the people who are asking him to be killed because they are the ones threatening the indigenous settlement. But Tam is none the wiser and just ugh the drama of it all. Because political marriage isn't necessarily off the table for her, especially if it gets them safe passage to the next place they need to go because that is something that's becoming harder and harder to figure out how to do. And our DM, is not someone to throw a one dimensional bad guy at us. I wouldn't be surprised is he has a good amount to offer at this negotiation. But at the same time Amy's still in a pretty self destructive spiral and does want that research back but it wouldn't be like she was endangering anyone she actually cares about. But there's this buding romance and budding friendship that's also happening at the same time and I just can't wait to see where it all goes.

There's also a lot of other threads at play here, most of this is honestly a side story. The lore is deep and complex and fascinating but I'm just trying to cover the directly relevent stuff to Amy right now. Anyway here's was my first ever art of her to reward anyone who read this far

I ended their vacay early and gave them a cas baby to play around with all the infant stuff and unsurprisingly he is the cutest little thing I LOVE HIM. I got my defaults converted over but i'm still trying to figure out how to fix the mesh eyeball thingy for infants so he has insane eyes all the time but i don't hate them lol

i forgot to mention they're in an apartment so they don't have a yard and their coop is in their bedroom

We have enemies at the gate of Charlotte county and we have people doing bad things in the neighborhood and their troops coming in actual troops they are clearing them out and pulling them out right now and as of today they're fired from all their jobs and so they must clear them out and there's far too many okay. We have about 700 million at the border of Charlotte county and 10.3 trillion 25 trillion 80 trillion and 200 octillion from the north and 800 are clean from the south and they're gearing up here and so are we and we're going to have a massive Force and the ocean is becoming full of ships it is a giant Force and preparing to cordon off and we will hold them off indefinitely and we are also pulling them out of Florida the population increased last night to 2% is back to 1% and we are pulling them all out on some of them are trying to flee with the airports and as they come in and it's confusion a lot of them think the islands are still safe and they're taking ships there and it's horrible they are decimated when they arrive and from the New Zealand side no it's from the the North and they're waiting for them to eat them. And they're huge okay these things are giant now. It's disturbing they're so dumb but where can I go. Tons of people in Florida are trying to go to California and it is a bit easier there and they'll face foreigners too probably trigger a reaction again. But they have no choice right now people are figuring out all these movies have been going on and they're screwing around with our son so much they don't know what the hell's going on themselves and they're pissed off about it

July has come back to town both towns they're calling the shots and they're calling the military in at hot spots and locations where they know they're building devices and the military is asking for the information all of it and they're giving it to them and it's saying they're way behind the whole time and they're going around coming for devices and finding a lot of them and John River Lord is going to be arrested by the military and taken to Guantanamo Bay and that's how he gets there. And he doesn't escape and The Gambler is Tommy f. And he shoots everybody. And he takes into Guantanamo Bay and the island is overrun and if I'm warlock and then the phones overtake it and then Max over takes him after he's captured and then he declares war on the warlock all of them and he clears them out of Florida this is happening shortly because the military is going to arrest him

I would say the ship is different to everybody because I've seen multiple ways of interpreting it: Fiddleford projecting Ford onto Stan, Fiddleford and Stan finding healing through each other, Fiddleford and Stan trying to find healing through each other but end up making each other worse, Stan getting Fiddleford's help to work on the portal and they fall in love during this, etc. To me, part of it did start from vibe pairing. As the kids say, I felt like they matched each other's freak (dude who punched a dinosaur in the face x dude who ate his way through a dinosaur, and so on) better to me personally than Fiddauthor (though I have no problems with that ship at all, their character vibes were just too different from each other for me to be that interested in it). But FiddleStan later became something more to me with the possibilities that they could find healing in each other after the portal incident. They would both be going off the deep end at this point, Fiddleford with the memory gun, Stan trying to get his brother back, and I think they could both find comfort in each other that they're not alone in their struggles.

Thinking about it my way, I always go back to the Scary-oke episode where Stan admits to lying about the truth of Gravity Falls and that the town was weird to protect the kids, and I think if he and Fiddleford had been in a relationship at any point, Stan probably would do that for him too if he saw how unnerved Fiddleford was about it. It would be a way of putting the idea of the town's strange happenings out of Fiddleford's mind without him even having to use the memory gun (though to be fair, he would still use it if he saw it.. but I imagine a scenario like where Fiddleford might hear something rummaging through the garbage outside and wonder if there were raccoons or possums outside, only for Stan to go out and check and just see gnomes out there that he'd have to chase off and then come back and tell Fiddleford "yup, just the raccoons again" lmao).

Another way I like to think of them bonding is post-finale when they're older men and maybe they would bond over memory loss which would open them up to actually talking about how they were both hurt by Ford's obsessions, and though they're both finally letting bygones be bygones, it could still be healing for them to talk about and acknowledge what they went through. (Also this is not a jab at Ford at all, this is just to say that they were both caught up in the crossfire of Ford's downward spiral, being so obsessed with uncovering the truth of Gravity Falls that he summoned an interdimensional dream demon who had him build a portal that he then got sucked into, and they might bond over their feelings about that whole incident.) A lot of times, I like to combine both of these ideas, that they could've been together post-portal, it was comforting for a while, but then things went wrong when Fiddleford rediscovered the portal Stan is working on and suddenly remembers everything, leading to more memory gun usage perhaps on both of them.. and then years later they manage to bond again over all the new things they've been through and their shared issues with memory loss.

Of course there's no real canon story to go off of to ship this, unless you're crazy like me and try to convince yourself the Old Goldie marriage and Raccoon Wife is actual evidence.. I'm leaving this here to look a little less crazy.. but who am I kidding here?

Anyway, that's pretty much why I ship it: it's a trope of "we're both hurting and find comfort in each other" which is one of my favorite tropes of all time besides lovers to enemies (yes, you read that right, usually most people go for enemies to lovers but I'm usually the opposite lol). But hey, one last thing before I drop this reblog that got so much longer than it should have (I'm so sorry), I do want to thank you for asking so nicely about it! There's been a big influx of people just randomly dropping hate in the tag lately, so it's refreshing to see someone just genuinely being curious. So thanks! :)

Genuine question, what's the hype behind fiddlestan?

I cannot emphasise enough how much I don't mean to be rude with this question, I just want to understand it.

Is it pairing vibes together and deciding it would make a great coupling or is there more substance I'm not considering?
