COACHELLA REVIVES DATING SUSPICIONS
An intense display of intimacy between the main rapper and lead vocalist leaves the audience speechless, pondering over their relationship.
April 13, 2024 (10:45AM)
Throughout the group's career it was not rare to find social media posts outraged at an alleged dating scandal between the maknae and another member, though most were simply an attempt to obtain her removal. Stage interactions were always heavy factors in the uprise of these rumors - especially with San whom she seems to have the most intimate choreography with - yet none have been as blatant as this one.
While it was not noticed until footage of the event was reviewed, one clip alone was enough to send social platforms into a confused chaos with tags such as #MinAriCoachella trending on X. Most have familiarized themselves with the intimate moment shared by the two artists during the dance break of WONDERLAND (Symphony No.9), yet none could have expected what transpired on that stage.
This time instead of using his grasp of the vocalist's neck to push her away as was done throughout other performances, Mingi shocked attendees when making the decision to pull their bodies closer. It would have seemed inconspicuous had the large screen not caught their lips clearly brushing against each other, his smirk indicating that this outcome was very much intended.
With the camera zooming out to take a wider shot Himari's reaction was unfortunately not captured, but a much more suspicious action drew the attention of online viewers watching the fancam. Mere moments prior to pulling away, what appeared to be the rapper's tongue rapidly swiped across his bandmate's lower lip while the hand devoid of a mic lead one of her own onto his chest.
Never throughout ATEEZ concerts has there been an interaction this shockingly bold and it seemed as though fans were not the only ones taken aback, as the maknae became visibly flustered when questions arose concerning this specific instance during the post-set live. The two appeared rather close throughout the broadcast as well, with Mingi's arm draped across the vocalist's shoulders until it eventually moved down to her waist when she attempted to move closer to the eldest in order to show him something on screen.
'Certain members take a while to come down from the adrenaline high on stage, so they're still in this mindset until we get to the hotel usually.'
This statement from Himari could very well serve as the explanation of this sudden show of possessiveness from the rapper, though it is unlikely that netizens will hear the true reason behind it.
With this mysterious dynamic set aside, ATEEZ made their mark on history as the first male K-Pop group to perform on a Coachella stage and proved that their hard work needed to be acknowledged to the same extent as their undeniable talents. These nine members began their career filming a music video in the Sahara desert to then take the stage with that very name during one of the largest music festivals.
The smiles on their faces throughout the fifty minutes set were enough to convince attendees that all of them were born to be on stage, especially with the playful tone their performance adopted up until the end. Atiny have taken to social media in order to express their pride towards ATEEZ's success whilst the latter slowly solidify their position as one of the top male groups and continue to make waves through the industry.
Stay tuned for upcoming performances; April 19th at Coachella, May 24-25th at the Yeosu Expo Music Festival, June 29-30th at Show! Music Core and August 18th at Summer Sonic.

Wow, okay, thanks for sending this, and first of all, I hope you enjoyed getting high, LOL. I guess there's nothing like getting high and starting to wonder about the yaoi side of Simon & Garfunkel.
I am not a Simon & Garfunkel historian, so to speak, but I have been a fan for quite some time and I have read all the biographies there are to read, I have done my fair share of research into them, so I do think I know a bit about the S&G "lore". Ever since the first time I saw the Concert in Central Park and seeing the same "vibe" you did during The Boxer, I've also 'shipped' them. That is to say, while I do not think that they were ever in a romantic relationship and everything that that entails, I don't rule out at all that anything of a sexual nature happened between them. Other people seem to think that too, hence the 'yaoi' posts you see on tumblr.
Their relationship was/is a really complicated one and I'm not sure any of us know exactly what happened to make them where they are now - supposedly on no speaking terms. I mean, Paul said in his recent documentary that Art turned from someone who 'got it for him" into someone he hopes never to see again, which...ouch x 1000.
For you and for everyone else getting into Simon & Garfunkel, here's a little crash course.
TL;DR they're both idiots who got along reasonably well if it wasn't about their professional business. Their creative differences re: music (and personal grievances) were always so large (as were their egos) that they followed a pattern of getting together to try (again), fought, were on no speaking terms for a decade, thought to give it another try, and repeat, ad infinitum. In fanfic terms, they are the epitome of strangers to friends to lovers to enemies to friends to lovers to enemies to...
1950s
Paul and Art are childhood friends. They lived a few streets away from each other in Queens, NY, and they went to the same school. They're the same age, born three weeks apart. They formally met when they were eleven, at the school play for Alice in Wonderland (Paul was the White Rabbit, Art the Cheshire Cat). Soon after, they started recording songs in their basements, trying to copy their heroes, the Everly Brothers. They got signed by Big Records by someone called Sid Prosen, called themselves Tom (Art) and Jerry (Paul) and released a fairly successful single called 'Hey Schoolgirl' when they were 16, which even made them go on Dick Clark's American Bandstand show (footage sadly does not survive). Paul recorded a song by himself, without telling Art, while he called himself True Taylor, and Art found out, 'shattering' the friendship with Paul for the first time. (It seems to have never recovered to how it was before). I coin this the True Taylor Incident™️. Alledgedly they didn't speak to each other for a couple of years after graduating high school (1958-1962-ish). During that time, Art recorded a few songs as Artie Garr, and Paul did as well, as Jerry Landis.
1960s
Paul went to study in Queens College, NY, and Art went to Columbia University (there he met his blind roommate Sanford, which is a whole other interesting side story). Paul and Art got reacquainted with each other, performed as a duo again and managed to get signed to Columbia records to record an album in March 1964, which was to be released in October 1964.
Meanwhile, Paul often went to England and mainland Europe (France, Denmark, the Netherlands...) and there he met Kathy who became his girlfriend (Hence, Kathy's Song, and "Kathy I'm lost, I said" from America). He also recorded a solo album while in the UK, called The Paul Simon Songbook. Art went to visit him a few times.
Their first album, Wednesday Morning 3AM, flopped; Art stayed in school and Paul went back to the UK. The album did contain the song The Sound of Silence (acoustic version) and a really interesting thing happened in late 1965 when someone decided to put electric guitars to the track and suddenly it got airplay. Paul was in Denmark when the song was really starting to do well on the charts, and he had to rush home to NYC when the song became number one.
Then, Paul and Artie were suddenly famous! They quickly recorded another album with several songs that were on The Paul Simon Songbook, but now Art's harmonies were on there. They did a lot of tv performances in 1966 and 1967 and toured mainly in the college and university circuits. (I will link some tv peformances and so on later, in another post).
I'm skipping over some things now, but in my opinion, trouble for their relationship really began again when they started recording their album Bookends and Paul had been writing music for The Graduate (Mrs. Robinson) (1968). The director of The Graduate, Mike Nichols, had asked Art and Paul to act in his next movie, Catch-22, but Paul's scenes got cut, and Art went to Mexico on his own for the better part of the first half of 1969, just when they were supposed to record their next album, Bridge Over Troubled Water. Tensions ran super high at that time. Plus, Paul had written the song Bridge Over Troubled Water for Art to sing, but he later said that Art first refused to sing it (Art said that he wanted Paul to sing it in a lovely falsetto voice) and later, during concerts, Art took standing ovations while finishing the song, while Paul was jealous that he didn't get songwriting credits on stage. Paul also said that Art was leaving him to do movies...not long after Catch-22, Art got invited to play a role in Mike Nichols' next movie, Carnal Knowledge. (see also: Why Don't You Write Me...."if it's only to say that you're leaving me"). The whole Bridge Over Troubled Water album is one big breakup album.
Meanwhile, Paul had gotten married to Simon & Garfunkel's manager's ex-wife (I still can't fathom this) and Peggy also kind of encouraged him to go solo. Paul also claimed that his musical interests and Art's were drifting apart, so eventually, they split in 1970. Artie thought they were only taking a break, and allegedly he didn't realize they were really done.
1970s
Both starting solo careers, they reunited a few times as well, such as for the McGovern benefit concert in 1972, and most notably in the second Saturday Night Live episode in 1975 (tell me they're not flirting the whole time). Paul had even written a song, My Little Town, that the both of them performed for the reunion and was featured on both of their (solo) albums There was also a reunion for Paul's The Paul Simon Special (1977), the Brittania Awards (1977) and some other benefit concerts.
1980s
Paul was approached by a concert producer about playing in Central Park and maybe doing a few songs with Art, and Paul was like, I can't very well play support to Simon & Garfunkel, so it was decided that the whole concert was supposed to be the both of them. And time it was, what a time it was! Safe to say the concert was a success, even though they were fighting again (Art wanted to stay as close to the accoustic sets they used to do in the college performances, and Paul wanted a big band on stage). The interviews before the performance are awkward as usual, but it seems that for the performance itself they kind of set their differences aside, and they seem to be having a good time on stage, as good as it gets with these two. The back rub during The Boxer is...I can't explain it, but that was a lovely gesture by Art.
Because the concert in Central Park had been so successful, they were going to bank on that success and do a whole reunion tour AND a reunion album in 1982-1983, but that seems to have been a very miserable experience for them both. Their body language in interviews says it all. It culminated in Paul wiping Art's vocals from what was supposed to be their reunion album and releasing it as a solo album. Safe to say they were on no speaking terms again for a while, lmao, especially when their professional endeavours were concerned. They did hang out sometimes in private, because Paul had married Carrie Fisher and Art was seeing Carrie's friend Penny. Then Paul got famous with Graceland and Artie was once again, forgotten.
1990s
They got inducted in the Hall of Fame (another miserable experience), Paul did another concert in Central Park (without any sign of Art this time) and they did a few reunion concerts in NYC and so, but neither of them looked very happy about that, if you ask me. In fact, the less they had to look at each other, the better. There was apparently one instance where they were fighting and someone had to stand in between them, or they would have physically started attacking each other? Sounds like a lot of fun, huh? Start of another decade of not speaking to each other.
2000s
After getting a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, they thought it was a good idea to get together again and do a reunion your, and that seemed to work, for a while. They toured the United States (2003-2004), Europe (2004), Australia/NZ and Japan (2009) and were about to embark on yet some more shows in the fall of 2010, but then Art Lost His Voice (you can see this happening right in front of your salad at the April 2010 Jazz Fest, but they were still very chummy then).
What happened in 2010...no idea, but it wasn't good. And then Art made things much, much worse when he did an interview in 2015, called Paul a Monster, and idiot and a jerk, and how could he leave a successful formula like Simon & Garfunkel behind and no amount of groveling that Art has done since (like begging Paul to call him in an interview) has helped. They are still on no speaking terms.
Now all we can do is wait and hope they come to their senses and kind of make up before they die. Under no circumstances do I still want them to sing together, but damn, if all of us don't want them to just both sit on the edge of a park bench, like bookends, I don't know anymore.
My take on the whole thing: they were good friends as kids, Art never got over the True Tailor Incident and that stayed with him forever; he always saw Paul as someone who could betray him in the blink of an eye. Paul was envious of Art's looks (and height); meanwhile Art wasn't a songwriter, so Paul had that advantage over him. It's not a good balance to be in such a close partnership. Perhaps at one point something did happen between them, complicating things even more, because can you really hate someone that much if you don't have strong feelings for them either? In later years, it seems to be mainly the "creative differences" about the music that was causing a rift, but maybe after all is said and done, perhaps Carrie Fisher said it best "not only do I not like you, but I don't like you personally." Paul 'cheated' on Art with True Taylor and, like any other one half of a (married) couple, he tried to get over it, but never could. (and maybe Paul is a jerk lmao. But Art was no angel either).
I've skipped over a lot of things, so if you have more questions, shoot. There are quite a few of us who are posting regularly about them, and who know about everything I've written above. In fact, there's a Tumblr community on S&G now (see my pinned post) but so far there haven't been many people interested in joining, lol, so if you want in, let me know. People could do a lot more theorizing there, haha.

On your hands and knees, you shuffled over the floor, searching for the fallen box of screws and praying they hadn’t all spilled everywhere. You were in such a rush to find them and get them back to Eddie that you’d fumbled and dropped them, your attempt to get back beside him as quickly as possible foiled by your own clumsiness. Luckily, you could see the bright yellow plastic of the box, the lid pressed on tight. The corner of it peeked out from behind a large cardboard box. In a bid to make it easier for yourself to squeeze under the bed to reach it, you pulled it out, planning on setting it to the side until the marker scrawled on the side drew your attention.
Recording Stuff
Vague enough to intrigue you, but you felt a hint of recognition before you gasped out loud at the memory that suddenly popped into your brain.
“Oh! His popstar things!”
So briefly, Eddie had mentioned that in his past, he had attempted to make his name as a popstar. Though, in true Edward Nygma fashion, he had utilised his brief fame and slight power to enact some typical, on-brand criminal stunts. Singing which lead to riddles which he had hoped would lead to more power and fame. Before he was caught by Batman and served a prison sentence and a broken nose. He’d only offered that much information. Nothing about the kind of music he sang, nothing about his popularity, or any fans. Nothing, even, about whether he was any good. You’d been desperate to know at the time, pestering him until it was very apparent that he was uncomfortable, at which point you’d let up, forgetting about it over time.
But now, the deep desire to find out more had been rekindled. Staring you in the face, screaming at you to ask for more, to find out everything. Eddie didn’t really keep any secrets from you, you knew everything about him, except for this. So, you opened the box.
Inside, there were countless CD cases, all of them with handwritten notes on them.
Audition Tape One
Audition Tape Two
Dance Practice
Choreography For Audition
First Concert
Band Practice
Album Recording Session
And so much more, all of them more intriguing than the last one you flicked over. Mixed in with them were folded posters, ones with glossy and heavily photoshopped images of him, with less sideburns, more hair, and his glasses were a lot simpler. No shade of green in sight, which you giggled at. You wondered if that was something he adopted after, or if the record label had decided it wasn’t quite a marketable colour scheme at the time.
You picked out some smaller, A5 card sheets with his picture and signature on them, all handwritten with markers. Obviously for sale at the end of a set or a concert. There were quite a few of them, likely unsold. It hurt your heart to see the memories like this, to know it hadn’t worked out the way he wanted. You held one of them close to your heart, kissing his sweet little face in the centre of the card. It felt like you were a teenager again, fawning over some ridiculous popstar.
Unable to contain the curiosity, you picked one of the CDs at random, popping it into the PC at the end of the bed. When the media player had finally opened, you were provided a sweet, visual treat. Thinking it would just be recordings of his songs, instead you were watching footage of Eddie, so young, standing in front of the camera and awkwardly speaking. He mumbled something about dance practice, and then began to move. He was stiff, uncomfortable. But there was evidence of some talent there. He just needed to loosen up a bit. You wanted to reach into the screen and grab him, shake him, kiss him. Fill him with the confidence he so badly needed.
When the rehearsal had finished playing, you put in another CD. You couldn’t help yourself. This was like a treasure trove, and you needed to see everything that was on each disc. And this one was even better than the last, as you could see Eddie, nervously shuffling in front of the camera, his hands in a white knuckle grip around the microphone as he sang shakily. His voice was so sweet, but the trembling made him shift tone and pitch inconsistently. It was too much to watch him in so much discomfort, despite how much you enjoyed hearing his sweet singing, so you changed the disc again.
This time, Eddie was sitting in front of the camera in a different room. He spoke sincerely to it, making a promise to himself, to everyone.
“I’m going to be famous. I’m going to be huge. I can get over the nerves, I can show everyone how good I am. I’m going to be known all over the world someday.”
The sentiments were repeated in differing words as he continued, and you could feel the sting of tears behind your eyes. He was so heartfelt, so desperate. And you felt simultaneously hopeful and helpless. You could see how much that sweet, young Eddie wanted this dream. But you knew exactly how it ended for him.
With tears streaming down your cheeks, you turned from the screen, wiping your face on your sleeves and returning to the box. Surprised you hadn’t noticed it first, your eyes fell on a clear case covered in glittery stickers, all shaped like question marks and stars, a couple of love hearts in the corner. Within it you could see a golden coloured disc. Turning it over, you found the track listings scribbled on the back, a small sticky note inside of the case which you couldn’t quite read until you opened it. Popping the disc in, you read the note as it loaded.
“For my future wife. I want you to know who I am, completely. These songs were for you, even if I didn’t know it yet.”
He was such a hopeless romantic. You sighed as you held it close to your chest. He’d likely forgotten that he’d even written the note, but you hoped if he remembered that he’d give the disc to you.
And when the music started playing, you couldn’t help but lose yourself completely. Enamoured by his sweet voice, the way he carried the melody so professionally and with such heart. It was impossible not to love. Your body started shifting on the spot, wiggling to the rhythm as you sat amongst his things, looking through more of the posters. You forgot what you had even come in there for. Instead, you were surrounded by Eddie, filled with more admiration and love for him than you thought was even possible.
The tunes were so catchy, so fun. It was a completely new side to him, exciting to discover. Because you loved Eddie, you adored him and appreciated him. But now, it was safe to say you were his number one fan. So there you sat, completely immune to the outside world. Focused only on the sweet songs and the way they made you want to dance, made you giggle, singing along to each of the choruses.
Worried at the length of time you had been gone for, only noticing when he was finally not distracted by his project, Eddie got up from the stool at his workbench and went in search of you. Leaving the soundproofed space in the basement, he could hear some music. A familiar tune that he couldn’t quite place. Until it hit him. Like a brick wall slamming into his body. He felt winded, like he might collapse any moment. That was his music, blaring throughout the house. Following the sound, he made his way to his bedroom, where he had forgotten that the discs were stored until this moment.
Edward stood in the doorway, his cheeks instantly bright red and flushed with embarrassment. Luckily, you hadn’t noticed him yet, still completely entranced by the music that you had blaring from his PC. In an unusual move of bravery, he stomped into the room and paused the track that was playing, surprising you, causing you to jump where you sat on the floor, surrounded by the memorabilia.
“Eddie!”
“How could you?”
You could see the look of pain in his face, how mortified and betrayed he felt in that moment. It made your blood run cold. Scrambling to apologise, you attempted to speak, but only stuttered over the first words, interrupted by Eddie as he spoke.
“I’m so… hurt. Why would you do this? I wasn’t ready! I wasn’t… I didn’t want to share this yet! I didn’t want to think about it! It hurts… it still hurts a lot, too much to…”
Finally able to squeeze out something more than a mewling mumble, you stood up, rushing to him and grabbing his hand to keep him close, long enough to listen to your apology. With similarly reddened cheeks and eyes that were wet with the threat of tears, you began to apologise profusely to him.
“Eddie, I am so sorry. I really am! I got… distracted. I was looking for the screws, they fell under the bed, I found the box and I just… couldn’t help myself. And I know I shouldn’t have looked, I do. It was a complete betrayal of your trust. I know that. But… but…”
He raised an eyebrow as he looked at you, his own eyes sparkling with tears that he tried to force back down as he cleared his throat.
“But what?”
“Eddie… you’re so good. This is amazing! I feel giddy, like some pre-teen girl finding a new boy to obsess over. I want to plaster these silly little photos all over my walls. I love you, so much. And this has just… this is the icing on the cake, truly.
“R-really?”
Taking his face in your hands, you let your thumb stroke his cheeks, softening his sideburns and pushing his hair back with your fingers as you looked deep into his eyes, desperately trying to convey the sincerity and honesty with which you were speaking.
“Eddie, my sweet Eddie. Those people might not have seen it in you, the talent and love for it. They might not have appreciated you. But I do. I think you’re a star. You’re my popstar, my celebrity crush.”
He smiled, his cheeks flushing a deeper red. He was struggling with the revelation of his past. Sooner than he had intended to reveal it all to you. And he had planned to tell you everything someday. But it was still raw, still painful for him to think about. Yet there was a deeper feeling, one of joy. Happiness. At finally being appreciated. That there was at least one person in the world who liked his work, and who loved him all the more for his past. But you had broken his confidence, and that hurt him more than he imagined it would. Tears stung at his eyes as he frowned at you.
Tearing up yourself, you looked to the doorway. You hadn’t seen Eddie this upset before, and it was painful to witness. As the first of your tears fell, you turned, making your escape from the bedroom to go take some time alone, to work on your apology. But Eddie was quick to grab you, pulling you back and into his arms.
“It’s ok. I… I forgive you. It’s just a lot for me to take in.”
“Eddie, I swear I didn’t mean to upset you.”
“I know.”
He let one hand drift from your body, pressing play on the media player, letting the soft music start up again and fill the room. With both of his hands back on your body, he held you to his chest and softly swayed. It hurt, still. But he was glad to finally have someone to share his music with.

Coronation: Busted
Updates made on 5/20/23.
96 108 total rumors busted, out of 185 (52% 58%)
I suspect that the rumors and theories got wildly out of hand because of the lack of information from Buckingham Palace about what to expect for the first coronation in 70 years. No one likes uncertainty and when there’s too much uncertainty, it’s natural for us to speculate and try to fill in the blanks ourselves.
3. Charles and Meghan had an affair during the Sussex engagement, which will be exposed before Charles’s coronation, causing a public crisis that will cause him to abdicate.
5. Charles and Camilla had a son together who was born in 1965 and adopted out. The BRF is aware of this child, including Harry, who told Meghan, who is using knowledge of this love child to blackmail the BRF and who will leak or publish the details, causing Charles to abdicate before the coronation.
6. Charles will be crowned King Philip.
The breakdown continues below the jump.
7. Royal christening for Lili in Britain around Charles’s coronation as part of reunion PR.
9. Charles’s coronation scheduled for June 2, 2023, on the anniversary of The Queen’s coronation.
10. Charles to abdicate monarchy before his coronation due to health issues related to his heart.
12. William’s investiture as POW to take place as part of Charles’s coronation ceremony.
14. Charles’s coronation on June 3, 2023, at Westminster Abbey.
19. Meghan to copy/mimic Queen Elizabeth’s coronation dress for Charles’s coronation.
21. Meghan will not be invited to the coronation but Harry will be. Harry will refuse to go without Meghan and demand an invitation for her. Neither will attend the coronation.
22. Charles to establish Duchess of Edinburgh as title for the sovereign’s daughters and retire the Princess Royal title to be Anne’s in perpetuity. Announcement made as part of coronation honors.
23. Charlotte to receive Duchess of Edinburgh at Charles’s coronation.
24. Harry and Meghan will be intentionally not invited to the coronation. Decision will be by Charles.
25. Sussex divorce announcement to overshadow Charles’s coronation. Announcement to drop in the run up to the event.
27. Charles to abdicate in March 2023. Coronation on May 6th will see William anointed instead.
28. UK government to intervene with Harry and the BRF over his memoir and force uninvite to the coronation.
31. Harry won’t attend Charles’s coronation because there won’t be a role for him and/or he was tipped off about poor seating placement.
32. Harry and Meghan invited to the coronation but Meghan refuses to go on grounds of her treatment at The Queen’s funeral (exclusion, being largely ignored, being blocked from the public broadcast by candle placement) and is forcing Harry to choose “me or them.” He will choose her and not attend.
33. Only the Waleses will be in robes and cornets for Charles’s coronation.
37. Meghan’s use of a surrogate, and Harry’s knowledge of and participation in the scheme, to be made public in March 2023 and also implicate Charles, who will be forced to abdicate before his coronation to save the monarchy.
38. Meghan not invited to the coronation but will attempt to crash it by traveling with Harry to London for the event.
39. Harry’s attendance at and participation in coronation events, including the ceremony, is contingent on a public apology to the whole royal family and a public recanting of lies told in Oprah, Netflix, and Spare.
40. Harry will refuse to attend the coronation and instead be a commentator for U.S. network television because he needs the money.
41. Edward to get Duke of Edinburgh as part of Charles’s coronation honors.
42. Kate to wear the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara for Charles’s coronation.

THANKS A BILLION FOR FAB FREDDIE!
[Photo caption: LIVING MEMORY: A Mercury lookalike in the concert crowd]
A MAMMOTH musical tribute to pop legend Freddie Mercury had the world rockin' in the aisles last night.
World rocks to his pop tribute
By ISABELLE MURRAY
A billion fans in more than 70 countries were watching the show live or waiting to see recordings withing 24 hours.
More than 100,000 red ribbons fluttered in the capacity 72,000 crowd in Wembley stadium.
They were a symbol of AIDS — which killed Mercury — and a silent reminder that the mega concert was to raise cash for AIDS relief and research.
Mercury's own image loomed large over the start of the concerts.
Video footage showed him performing his hit Bohemian Rhapsody that had become the show's anthem.
Then the fans cheered, screamed, clapped and wept together as they watched dozens of other top names make their own personal tributes to flamboyant Freddie.
For three hours, the acts from Britain and America thrilled the crowd with their versions of Freddie favourites.
Elton John sang Bohemian Rhapsody again.
Seal had the crowd cheering along as he sang Queen standard Who Wants To Live Forever?
David Bowie and Annie Lennox boomed out a stirring version of the chart hit Under Pressure.
And, in the emotion charged atmosphere, fans wept when George Michael and Lisa Stansfield performed a moving duet of the hit These Are The Days Of Our Lives.
Finally, all the artists sang God Save the Queen, traditional ending to Queen concerts.
The concert — which sold out three hours after it was announced — had fans from all over the world scrambling for tickets.
The international audience included music lovers from Japan, American, Italy, Germany, Scandinavia, France and from all over Britain.
Queue
Hours before the stadium gates opened at 4pm, fans queued for miles to pay a small fortune for concert merchandise.
Legions of sweating caterers poured 26,000 pints of lager and 64,000 colas for thirsty fans.
Peckish punters scoffed 20,000 burgers, 15,000 hot dogs and 3,000 buckets of popcorn.
There were 200 medical workers, including five doctors and a surgeon and 300 security officers.
Backstage, there was even a masseur and accupuncturist ready to deal with the stresses of stardom.
Liz pays homage
SCREEN legend Liz Taylor flew from Los Angeles with a moving epitaph to Freddie... and a chilling warning for the fans.
She declared: "He died before his time, but the bright light of his talent still exhilarates us."
Then Liz spelled out the AIDS message to her massive worldwide TV audience:
"Protect yourselves. Every time you have sex, use a condom.
"Straight sex, gay sex, bisexual sex. Always use a condom wherever you are.
"The world needs you to live. We love you. We care."
Queen guitarist Brian May pledged that Queen will carry on.
But nobody will ever replace the great man.

Common Applications of Telescopic Masts in Various Industries
Telescopic masts are versatile, extendable structures that have become invaluable tools across multiple industries. Their ability to extend to great heights and retract for easy transport makes them essential in applications ranging from communication and surveillance to broadcasting, weather monitoring, and even emergency services. The following explores how telescopic masts are commonly utilized across different fields.
In telecommunications, telescopic masts are used primarily for elevating antennas, radios, and satellite dishes. These masts allow telecom companies to improve signal strength and expand coverage. Mobile network operators often deploy telescopic masts to extend the height of antennas, particularly in rural or difficult-to-reach areas where traditional infrastructure is limited or not feasible. During emergencies or large-scale events, temporary communication stations are also set up with telescopic masts to provide reliable connectivity, ensuring that mobile networks stay functional in challenging environments.
The broadcasting industry also benefits significantly from telescopic masts. For both television and radio broadcasting, these masts provide a stable platform for positioning antennas or cameras at elevated heights. In live event broadcasting, such as sports, concerts, or outdoor shows, telescopic masts allow cameras to capture aerial footage, giving viewers a dynamic and expansive view of the action. These masts also play a crucial role in transmitting signals over long distances. Broadcast stations rely on telescopic masts to position transmitters or antennas at high altitudes, improving the reach and quality of signals.
In the field of surveillance and security, telescopic masts are commonly used to elevate cameras, sensors, and lighting equipment. This capability is especially useful in large, open areas or urban environments where monitoring needs to cover vast spaces. Security agencies deploy these masts to enhance their surveillance systems, capturing footage from higher vantage points. In military and border security, telescopic masts offer an efficient solution for monitoring sensitive locations, providing a mobile and flexible approach to perimeter defense and surveillance.
Weather monitoring is another area where telescopic masts have a significant impact. Meteorological stations utilize these masts to position instruments such as anemometers, weather balloons, and radar systems at varying heights. These devices collect crucial data on wind speeds, temperature, pressure, and humidity, which helps meteorologists predict weather patterns. Telescopic masts are particularly beneficial in providing accurate readings from different altitudes, which can be essential for forecasting in areas with complex weather systems.
In construction, telescopic masts support various temporary applications, including providing elevated lighting and aiding in the inspection of tall structures. Construction sites often require masts for temporary lighting solutions, especially in areas where scaffolding or other infrastructure may not be practical. These masts can be quickly deployed to ensure the safety of workers and provide clear visibility for tasks taking place at night or in low-light conditions. Similarly, telescopic masts are used for maintaining and inspecting high-rise buildings, towers, and other structures that require regular checks or repairs.
The emergency services sector also relies on telescopic masts for rapid deployment during natural disasters or large-scale emergencies. These masts can quickly support communication systems and lighting equipment, crucial in situations where infrastructure has been damaged. In such cases, they help ensure that first responders can maintain contact and operate safely in challenging conditions.
Finally, telescopic masts have applications in the military, where they are used for tactical communication, radar deployment, and surveillance. Their mobility and ability to quickly deploy in the field make them ideal for use in remote or hostile environments, where they can be raised to provide crucial support for military operations, such as communication and reconnaissance.
In conclusion, telescopic masts are indispensable in a wide range of industries due to their flexibility, ease of use, and ability to reach elevated positions quickly. From telecommunications and broadcasting to security, weather monitoring, construction, and emergency response, these masts offer a practical and efficient solution to meet the needs of modern industries. Their widespread use continues to expand as technology evolves, making them a vital tool across various sectors. Hi I know I sound insane but like what if we agreed nobody films their next show
Don't misunderstand me
I know they haven't even actually announced a Next One as of this exact moment
But
Hi I'm stupid and crazy but what if that's the point
What if "my chemical romance is more than a band" has more application than just the number of new songs, or whatever?
What if Gerard's known frustration with video becoming largely a ubiquitous party of playing a show combined with all their other stated reasons and they're waiting for us to graduate to the Biggest Picture yet - that the Idea, which they espouse as gospel is actually just Being in and of The Moment
Like don't get me wrong I love the archival footage but what if they're savvy to that and just want all of us to let go of the control that filming (in spite of venue regulations almost always) provides
What if the only time that's actually holding back the next thing is us collectively being so separation anxious that we can't stop filming, to the point they're paying for that in their personal lives in a way the collective would all agree is intrusive
What I'm saying is I Am A MyChem Fan and some of my secret theories panned out tonight, while the Big One Didn't so I do invite you to disagree, However I have a new and more well-rounded theory that makes me actually believe more strongly in MCR5 and that might seem silly but after watching tonight, I have two central thoughts
They want to (and likely have been already) work together again to make music
They don't generally appreciate some aspects of modernism like the thing where we now know about Gerard's lyric flub in the end and his subsequent anxiety about it
Like I'm just saying maybe the MCRmy needs to actually work against the band culture of the last decade and agree that we come together, fan club style
Back in the day, bootlegs existed. And when VCR became a thing, filmed bootlegs also became a thing, but even excusing that, we've always wanted to save the Thing.
But back in the day, so to speak, I'm just thinking that, my mom and dad both always talked about a specific person (whose name or "name" they've still never shared) who provided bootlegs of their significant Date Night concerts
And like. I know it's silly and stupid but what if we became what the fanclubs of old tried for and found, say 3 people in the fandom with exclusive filming right for a given performance and then forget agreed to gently discourage finding by anyone but the hypothetical 3
What I'm saying doesn't actually make sense but let me add another hypothetical
Picture being Just A Guy whose lyrics happened to hit with the music and all of a sudden you're dealing with the awakening of the Internet on top of the Standard Hero Band Journey of the time. And then imagine that you're trying to do something new by being more authentic to encourage people to not make horribly addictive decisions, but that not only adds fame, now makes it actively impossible to disengage from the culture because you wanted to have this platform to encourage people to do better but you never wanted to be the Personal Face of what others consider Better because (for whatever reason) you feel and/or know that you're not Better so you think maybe dipping is better
Estival cause it worked for your heros
But then life and turn-of-a-century plus technically leads to finishing returns and Way Too Many People having Even Your Most Intimate Performances at their fingertips
What I'm saying is maybe we appreciate the ways that the Before Times can clubs worked - they worked for and with the bands, but it never excluded the valuable message of the given band
Maybe we create and create and become a community that agrees that regardless of our fandom and Opinions on Same, we all want More, and we will all be technically dense and In The Moment at the next show unless we're the (however many) agreed-to streamers, and we'll collectively but gently reinforce that only those 2-6 people can film the name without being paid
What I'm saying is that most early bootlegs of any given entertainer were created and then further curated by the band and their willingness for outside influence
What I'm saying is if this post gets 5 likes is at least 50% understanding where I'm coming from, then Imma build an Actual Fan Club with a central Club manifest that might actually lead to changes in the culture for At Least MCR's already-scarce blessings upon their fans
#I feel pro good admitting i didn't make a lot of sense here but like my parents'first date was with Sammy Hagar#and on top of their own experience#Dad has 3 micro tapes of some kind about his favorite bands but he didn't have the Entire act#because he only had his memory of the performance in question mixed with my own interest in avoiding being emotionally punished

Building visually compelling experiences is vital to engaging and delighting audiences in large-scale event productions. As the need for dynamic visuals and immersive environments grows, direct-view LED displays have become a game-changer in the event production area. Direct-view LED Video Walls have redefined how organizers offer content to their audience, from concerts to conferences, sports events, and exhibitions. Direct-view LED displays are the game-changer you need, whether you're peeking to build immersive brand experiences or eye-catching visuals.
Direct-view LED displays are taking promotions and advertisements to the next level, delivering unpaired flexibility with no boundaries on size or form.
What is a Direct View LED Display?
Let's explore!
A Direct-View LED display is a flat-panel technology that utilizes Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs) to emit light and instantly produces shining, striking images. Essential Benefits of Direct View LED Displays
Exceptional Visual Quality
One of the immediate causes event producers select direct-view LED displays is their incomparable image quality. These presentations deliver high brightness levels, assuring that content is clear and visible even in bright environments, such as outdoor festivals or well-lit conference halls. Direct-view LED Video Walls Offer seamless image quality, free from bezels that could distract or interrupt the visuals.
Scalability and Customization
Direct View LED Video Walls are modular and can be configured in almost any size or form. This scalability makes them perfect for large-scale events requiring custom exhibits to equip the venue. Fine Pitch LED Displays deliver the flexibility needed for innovative, large-scale visual arrangements, whether looking for a tall video wall at a show or a curved exhibit for an immersive exhibition stall.
Durability and Longevity
Direct-view LED displays are highly stable and trustworthy, particularly in demanding conditions designed for long-term usage. Fine-pitch LED Displays support uniform performance throughout the event, unlike projection systems or LCDs, which may show lagging or technical issues. These features make them perfect for indoor and outdoor applications where conditions may only sometimes be optimal.
Energy Efficiency
In addition to their dynamic visual performance, Direct View LED Video Walls are more energy-efficient than conventional display technologies. Direct View LED displays offer a better eco-friendly resolution that lowers operating costs without compromising quality for large-scale events where energy consumption is a crisis.
Fine Pitch LED Displays for Immersive Experiences
Fine Pitch LED Displays have taken the event production enterprise to the next level due to their capability to provide crystal-clear, high-resolution visuals. These exhibits have a shorter pixel pitch, stretching between individual LED pixels, creating more acute and intricate pictures.
Fine Pitch LED Video Walls ensure that even close-up audiences can enjoy high-definition content without pixilation for events requiring high-quality visuals, such as corporate conferences or live streaming events. This technology is especially effective for displaying detailed graphics, text, and videos, making it ideal for events where clarity and detail are paramount.
Let's discuss some actual use case scenarios for Direct View LED Displays in Events
Shows and Celebrations
Large-scale shows and music celebrations usually depend on direct-view LED Video Walls to enrich the audience experience. These walls permit event organizers to cast live footage, vibrant visuals, and interactive content, forming a compelling setting for attendees.
Corporate Events and Conferences
Fine-pitch LED Displays deliver an extravagant and contemporary solution for providing information at corporate occasions and gatherings. From keynote displays to product takeoffs, these shows guarantee the audience remains engaged and informed.
Exhibitions and Trade Shows
Exhibitors utilize Direct View LED Video Walls to build visually impactful booths that attract visitors. These shows' seamless setup and excellent image quality support exhibitors to stand out and make an everlasting impression.
Sports Events
Direct View LED displays are often used in sports auditoria and arenas to deliver real-time contest updates, repeats, and live scores. Their durability and luster make them ideal for outdoor usage, guaranteeing clear visibility even in the daytime.
In a Nutshell
No one can underestimate the function of direct-view LED displays in large-scale event shows. Whether providing excellent visual quality, delivering scalability, or guaranteeing reliability, these displays have revolutionized event showcases. Integrating Security Systems with Stadium Facility Management Software
In the modern sports environment, managing a stadium involves a complex web of responsibilities, from maintaining the facility's infrastructure to ensuring the safety of its occupants. Integrating security systems with stadium facility management software can transform how facilities are managed, enhancing both efficiency and safety. This blog explores the benefits and considerations of this integration, focusing on how stadium facility management software can support comprehensive security measures.
The Importance of Security in Stadium Management
Stadiums are high-traffic venues that host thousands of visitors for sporting events, concerts, and other gatherings. The security of such large crowds is paramount, requiring a robust system to manage and respond to potential threats effectively. Security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control, and emergency response protocols, must be seamlessly integrated with facility management software to ensure swift and coordinated responses.
Benefits of Integrating Security Systems with Stadium Facility Management Software
1. Enhanced Real-Time Monitoring
Integrating security systems with stadium facility management software allows for real-time monitoring and management of security footage and alarms. Facility managers can access live camera feeds, view historical data, and receive alerts on security breaches directly through their facility management software. This integration helps in quickly identifying and addressing potential issues, enhancing overall safety and security.
2. Streamlined Emergency Response
In emergencies, every second counts. By integrating security systems with facility management software, emergency response teams can access critical information such as evacuation routes, emergency contacts, and crisis management plans instantly. This immediate access enables a more coordinated and effective response, potentially saving lives and minimizing damage.
3. Improved Asset Management
Facility management software can track and manage security assets such as cameras, alarms, and access control systems. This ensures that all equipment is functioning correctly and is maintained regularly. By keeping a digital record of asset status and maintenance schedules, facility managers can prevent equipment failures and ensure that security systems are always operational.
4. Data-Driven Decision Making
The integration allows for the collection and analysis of security-related data within the facility management software. By analyzing patterns and trends in security incidents, facility managers can make informed decisions about improving security measures and addressing vulnerabilities. This data-driven approach helps in proactively enhancing safety protocols and resource allocation.
Key Features to Look for in Integrated Systems
1. Centralized Dashboard
A centralized dashboard in the facility management software provides an overview of all security systems and their statuses. It allows facility managers to monitor and control various aspects of security from a single interface, reducing the need to switch between different systems.
2. Mobile Accessibility

The Burning Cathedral on the Night of April 15, 2019: A National Trauma. Foto: Houpline/Sipa/Action Press
Rebuilding Notre-Dame: The Resurrection of Fire-Ravaged Cathedral Brings France Together in Unexpected Ways
Five years after the fire at Notre-Dame, the iconic cathedral in Paris now has a roof and a tower again. The reconstruction is almost complete in what is no less than a national tour de force that has led to rare unity in a divided republic.
— By Britta Sandberg in Paris • April 11, 2024
You can see it again from afar, the narrow crossing tower that has reliably risen into the Parisian sky for 160 years. A 96-meter-long monument made of wood and lead, built in the mid-19th century. The spire.
It is rare that gaps need to be closed in the sky. In this case, though, it was urgently needed. For almost five years, Parisians looked into a sad emptiness when they walked past Notre-Dame and looked up. The void reminded them of a national trauma: the evening of April 15, 2019, when smoke first rose from the Gothic building and flames then shot out of the roof.
With every catastrophe, there is a moment when the hope dies that the drama can still be averted. On that evening in April, it was the minute the glowing tower plunged into the depths. On both banks of the Seine to the left and right of the Île de la Cité, people stood and shouted, unable to believe what they were seeing.
Television stations sent images of the burning "flèche" around the world, just as they had shown the collapsing towers of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. And in November 2015, the footage of desperate people fleeing from Islamic State (IS) terrorists via windows in the Bataclan concert hall in Paris, hanging helplessly from the façade.
On this April evening, France once again felt it was the victim. After the terrorist attacks in 2015, in which 146 people died, the IS attack in Nice the following year and the weeks of violent demonstrations by the yellow vests in the winter of 2018, now Notre-Dame was also burning. The "epicenter of our lives," as President Emmanuel Macron would later state. A statement that was, of course, infused with hyperbole.
Macron's Risky Bet on the Future
Many French people last visited the cathedral as a child, during a school or family trip. Many of them are atheists, Muslims or Jews. Strangely touched, they nevertheless realized that night how much connects them with this building. If only because it was always there.
Notre-Dame may be Catholic, but somehow it belongs to everyone. The church survived the revolution, the Paris Commune and two world wars. The first bells to ring after fierce fighting in liberated Paris in August 1944 were those of Notre-Dame. On the night of the fire, Jean-Luc Mélenchon of the left-wing populist party La France insoumise, an avowed atheist, said it felt as if something had happened to a close family member.
The need to comfort the grieving nation was great, even though there were no fatalities and there was no terrorist attack behind the disaster. The next day, Macron announced in a speech to the nation that he wanted to have the monument rebuilt within five years – and that it would be even more beautiful than it had ever been before. The ruins of the cathedral were still smoking. But we can do this because we are "a nation of builders," Macron said.
It was a risky bet on the future. Macron knew that he would ultimately be measured against that promise. But he is also a player. Many French presidents have taken risks with large construction sites: Socialist President François Mitterrand had the Louvre renovated in the 1980s and commissioned a glass pyramid. Georges Pompidou left Paris the avant-garde and long controversial Centre Pompidou building. The history-conscious Macron should be pleased that he is now the youngest president since 1958 to become the builder of one of the country's oldest monuments.
Philippe Villeneuve has been chief architect of Notre-Dame since 2013 and is responsible for the conservation and restoration of the cathedral. He had applied for the national job posting, it was his dream role. "Without the architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, who made decisive changes to Notre-Dame in the 19th century and also designed the crossing tower, I would never have become an architect myself," says Villeneuve. For almost five years, his office has been a portacabin set up right behind the church. Relics of the fateful night still lie on the cupboards and desks to this day: Parts of old clock faces that fell into the nave. Molten lumps of lead from the roof of the church.
"I didn't look at any images of the collapsing tower. I couldn't have handled it."
— Philippe Villeneuve, Chief Architect of Notre-Dame

Villeneuve wasn't in Paris on April 15, 2019, so he neither saw the crossing tower collapse nor the flames blazing on the roof. "And that was a good thing because I couldn't have handled it. I didn't look at any pictures of it afterward either." – Really, not a single one? – "I know, it sounds strange. Only since the tower has been back on the roof have I been able to do that to myself."
Tables with elongated rectangles in different colors hang in Villeneuve's container office. They each show the beginning and end of a construction phase – like an abstract art work that only insiders can understand. The Notre-Dame construction site is a complex logistical undertaking. It was divided into 140 individual construction sites, otherwise the technical challenges of reconstruction wouldn't have been met.
Tattoos to Keep What You've Lost with You at All Times
For the past five years, Villeneuve has dedicated himself exclusively to this construction project – the kind that only comes alone once in a century. The first one and a half years after the fire were spent securing the church, which was long considered to be in danger of collapsing. Villeneuve had hundreds of stones inspected to check how badly the heat had damaged them and whether they were still usable. He and Notre-Dame are now practically a single entity.
The 61-year-old pulls up the left sleeve of his cardigan, revealing the top of the spire beneath. "It takes up the entire arm, and there are more tattoos on the chest," says Villeneuve. Since the fire, he has had half the cathedral tattooed onto his body: the rescued north tower, the south tower, two mythical creatures on the façade and the copper rooster. He says he had to do something to keep what he had almost lost with him at all times.
Is that not a bit crazy though? – "Let's call it passion. I built a model of Notre-Dame when I was 16. I love this church, and I'm far from the only one."
When the crossing tower was erected on the roof again in mid-February, even the broad-shouldered carpenters are said to have had tears in their eyes. In the run-up to this, the country's four leading wood processing companies, who are actually competitors, had spent a year-and-a-half working together. Given the tight deadlines, a single company would never have been able to complete the task on time. All four companies worked to produce the thousand oak elements for the tower.

Some 250 companies and numerous trades are working here in parallel, including painting restorers, stonemasons, roofers, specialist carpenters, air conditioning and heating technicians, archaeologists and scaffolders. More than 2,000 men and women are involved in the resurrection of the cathedral.
This national tour de force is being financed by 340,000 private donors who are raising a total of 846 million euros. Within only three days after the fire, the sum exceeded the total donations that the French transfer annually to the country's 10 largest charitable organizations. That's quite a lot of money for a pile of old stones, some have said critically. But they remain a minority.
The windfall came at the right time for President Macron, who had arbitrarily announced the deadline for reconstruction after the fire without consulting the experts. Five years sounded good. Besides, the Olympic Games would also be held in Paris in 2024.
People accused him of megalomania and the negligent handling of a listed historical monument at the time. Art historians and architecture experts wrote an open letter to the president. They warned against linking reconstruction to a political agenda or setting an actual set year for completion.
A Culture War over Reconstruction – Faithful to the Original or Modern?
There was another worry: Macron had declared that he also wanted to give contemporary architecture a place in the reconstruction. After that, strange designs for a modern tower began circulating. Some architects suggested a crystal spire "as a symbol of the fragility of our history." Others wanted to place a greenhouse and beehives on the roof of Notre-Dame. Yet others wanted to illuminate the roof from below so that it would be visible from a distance At some point, France's star architect Jean Nouvel weighed in. His objection: It isn't necessarily modern to replace something that already existed with something new.
Notre-Dame chief architect Villeneuve says he never tried to stop the discussion about all these idiotic ideas. "I knew that the crazier the designs, the greater the chances of a faithful reconstruction," he says. In July 2020, a national expert commission voted unanimously in favor of an historic reconstruction.

One of the peculiarities of the French political system is that no commission or parliament ultimately decides on the architectural drafts. The president does. It's a monarchical gesture that survived the revolution. But Macron proved to be wise. A short time later, he agreed to a faithful reconstruction.
In the secular Fifth Republic, Notre-Dame belongs not to the church, but to the state. The latter makes the cathedral available to Catholics for the sole purpose of practicing their faith. And this according to a law passed in 1905. It made Emmanuel Macron the chief builder; the government is responsible for all renovation work and its financing.
Just two days after the fire, Macron appointed a former general as special envoy for reconstruction. He bypassed all the authorities – not even the Culture Ministry found out about it. The 70-year-old, Jean-Louis Georgelin, had previously served as chief of the general staff of the French armed forces and as NATO general in Bosnia's capital Sarajevo. He also led missions in Afghanistan and Cote d'Ivoire. And he is devout – a Catholic who knew the state apparatus well. Georgelin agreed. He didn't like being retired, anyway.
He moved into an office close to the president's in the Élysée Palace and explained to all critics that he was experienced at leading a task force in the military, so why not the Notre-Dame rescue operation as well? From then on, the general was primarily responsible for one thing: ensuring compliance with Macron's five-year plan.
Georgelin headed the "Établissement public," the public institution for reconstruction that the government had founded. He had himself photographed with an ax in the forest in front of oak trees selected for the new roof truss and gave everyone the reassuring feeling that the five-year deadline wasn't as crazy as it sounded.
Last August, the then 74-year-old had a fatal accident while on a hike in the Pyrenees. Macron dedicated a national memorial service to "the soldier who believed in heaven," as he expressed it, in the courtyard of the Invalides in Paris.
"What we are experiencing here is an incredible collective undertaking."
— Philipe Jost, general director of construction at Notre-Dame
Today, a glass conference room with a view of Notre-Dame's towers bears the name of the deceased. His successor, Philippe Jost, likes to use it for interviews. Jost, who was the general's deputy, is also a devout Catholic and previously worked in the French Defense Ministry. On this morning in March, he can see the new "flèche" from the large conference table at a height of almost 100 meters, a view that seemed unimaginable five years ago. "It only worked because the whole of France rushed to Notre-Dame's sickbed," says the 63-year-old. "What we are experiencing here is an incredible collective undertaking."
This construction site, he says, is also a demonstration of the will. "In a world of crises and given the often gloomy mood of the decade, the Notre Dame drama offered a unique opportunity to not surrender to fate, to take up the challenge and unite the whole nation behind this project. Emmanuel Macron already recognized that on the night of the fire."
"Do you know what makes scaffolding beautiful?" asks Didier Cuiset. "It's the aesthetics of perfect geometry." Cuiset stands 40 meters above the ground on a platform directly in front of the spire, in the middle of the sky above Paris. You can touch the rebuilt tower from here, touch the matte oak wood, see where the three-millimeter-thick layer of lead with the hook-shaped decorations begins. Even up close, the new tower is deceptively similar to the old one.
"Many people think that scaffolding is just a pile of metal, but that's not true. It can be a work of art."
— Didier Cuiset, chief scaffolder at Notre-Dame
Cuiset is the chief scaffolder here, and his company specializes in listed historical buildings. In the past, the company has put up scaffolding for the cathedral in Metz, the Louvre in Paris as well as Versailles. Cuiset has been living in a shared flat in Paris three days a week for five years now so that he can be part of the reconstruction of Notre-Dame.
"Many people think that scaffolding is just a pile of metal, but that's not true," he says. "It can be a work of art. When I draw one, I add pipes that it doesn't need structurally so that it looks nicer. Because I want it to do justice to the monument it surrounds."
Then, against all safety precautions, the 58-year-old climbs onto a barrier to take photos. This work of art is also ephemeral, it is currently being dismantled. As little metal as possible should obscure the view of Notre-Dame during the Olympic Games in the summer.
Restoration of the statue of St. Denis: 846 million euros for a pile of old stones? Foto: Patrick Zachmann/Magnum Photos
The nave of the cathedral: the stones are now "blonde" again, brighter and more radiant than ever. Foto: Patrick Zachmann/Magnum Photos
A few meters below, in the new roof truss of the cathedral, it smells of Christmas and fresh oak wood. Here you can see the faithful reconstruction of the medieval roof structure that was destroyed by the fire. It was also made possible because an architecture student had remeasured the roof for a research project in 2015. All the oak trunks used were worked manually with an ax by carpenters who still master the old techniques. Not folklore, as they say, but a method that makes the wood more stable. When worked by hand, it is easier to follow the core of the tree trunk. The beams were then joined together with wooden dowels, as they had been for centuries.
The daffodils are blooming in the garden of the Archbishop of Paris, and church bells can be heard from afar. The Catholic Church is not allowed to levy a church tax in France and is poorer than the German Church, but Monseigneur Laurent Ulrich lives very nicely. At the beginning of the 20th century, a wealthy widow bequeathed her 1,600-square-meter city palace and private chapel in the 7th arrondissement to the diocese of Paris, with the sole condition that the archbishop should live there in future. The property is now estimated to be worth over 50 million euros.
The world's richest man lives next door. He has also been the biggest donor in the effort to restore Notre-Dame. Bernard Arnault, owner of the luxury group Louis Vuitton-Moët Hennessy, gave 200 million for the reconstruction – twice the amount given by his eternal rival, the billionaire and art collector François Pinault.
"France has become a divided country, a fractured society. But Notre Dame has managed to unite our nation for a moment."
— Monseigneur Laurent Ulrich, the Archbishop of Paris
Foto: Sophie Carrère/Der Spiegel
It's raining outside, but Monseigneur is in good spirits on this morning. A few days ago, the topping-out ceremony for the newly constructed roof truss of Notre-Dame took place. In December, Laurent Ulrich consecrated the rooster for the crossing tower, which contains the relics of two saints that survived the night of the fire, a small part of the famous crown of thorns of Jesus Christ and, more recently, a parchment paper with the names of the craftsmen involved in the reconstruction.
If there are no storms or other disasters, he will be able to open Notre-Dame on time by December 8, says Ulrich. The originally planned date of April 15, 2024, had to be canceled due to difficult working conditions during the pandemic and strong winds.
The archbishop says he has been worried in recent years. "France has become a divided country, a fractured society," he says. "But Notre-Dame has managed to unite our nation for a moment. That makes me happy."
Monseigneur Ulrich doesn't want the April 15 fire to be forgotten, even if it was perhaps only caused by a short circuit or another trivial cause. The cause has not yet been determined. The archbishop has issued a call for tenders for six new stained glass windows in the cathedral. They are to be designed by contemporary artists "to leave a trace of the event that deeply wounded Notre-Dame. And which nevertheless showed what we are capable of: We were able to close this wound again." Macron has approved the project.
There are many things that divide the archbishop and the president. Just a few weeks ago, the right to abortion was enshrined in the constitution at Macron's initiative. A draft law on euthanasia is currently being prepared – issues that Monseigneur does not support. But when it comes to Notre-Dame, the two are in agreement. "Next December, the president will give the church back to Catholics to practice their religion. And we will thank him and everyone involved for that."
The faithful, Parisians and tourists will then discover a cathedral that is brighter and more radiant than ever before. After extensive work, the stones and columns inside the nave have been restored to their original color. Restorers painstakingly removed the dirt of past centuries, layer by layer. They are now "blonde" again, as the experts say. This color gives the nave something unusually sculptural. A depth that has been overshadowed by shades of gray for decades.
The colors in the neo-Gothic sacristy, once designed by architect Viollet-le-Duc, are also visible again for the first time. The restorers who cleaned it were amazed at how brightly colored this room once was, how deep blue the ceiling, how pink the frescoes.
Notre-Dame is actually more beautiful than before.
At the very front of the altar is an 18th century Pietà, a depiction of Mary with the body of Jesus Christ taken down from the cross. On the evening of April 15, molten lead had flowed from the roof of the church directly into the open right hand of Jesus, staining the entire sculpture with black splashes. There is no sign of it today. The restorers only left the lead in the palm of the hand. As a reminder of a special moment.

www.xygledscreen.com
LED walls and green screens are often used as video background displays at corporate events, parties, and concerts. But they can be much more than that! Learn how to use LED wall technology to create your own green screen and produce videos with high-quality effects right in your living room! Find out more in this advanced application of LED wall technology article!
What is an LED green screen?
The LED wall is a digital display technology that uses an array of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to produce images. The most common form is a video display, but other applications include signage, advertising, general lighting, and architectural lighting. An LED screen can be made from one or more modules connected together by wire or optical fiber cables. Modules are usually square or rectangular in shape, but may also be irregularly shaped for special effects. In any case, each module consists of hundreds or thousands of LEDs mounted behind a panel of glass. Each pixel on an LED screen can turn on or off individually to produce any color in the spectrum. The number of pixels per unit area determines resolution, which is measured in pixels per inch (PPI). Common resolutions include 800×600, 1024×768, and 1280×720. A single high-definition television set contains 1 million or more pixels; it's not uncommon for large LED screens to contain several million pixels
Pros of using the LED wall as a green screen for virtual production
A lot of people use green screens for creating a virtual environment, in fact, it has become a must for most projects. A green screen can hide all technical equipment behind a subject and help achieve a better visual effect. Here are the pros of using the LED wall as a green screen for virtual production.
Realistic reflections
The first benefit is that it has a more realistic reflection than a traditional green screen. A lot of people use a green screen to create a virtual environment, but it has a problem that there is no realistic reflection. For example, when we use the green screen to shoot a product video, we usually put a white board behind the product and then add blue background in post-production. However, because the white board does not have any texture or color, so it will look like we just put the product on a blank background. This kind of effect is very unnatural. But with an LED wall as a green screen, you can get real reflections from your subject which makes your footage much more professional. So if you want to make a high-quality product video, you should consider using the LED wall as a green screen for better visual effects.
Ease time pressure on-set
You can capture awesome outdoor lighting with an LED wall. When you shoot with a green screen, it will take time to adjust the lighting. But with an LED wall, you don't need to worry about that. Because it has a lot of built-in colors and white balance settings, so you can easily get perfect light in one shot. So if you want to save your time on-set, then you should consider using the LED wall as a green screen for virtual production.
Shorter post-production time
Another benefit is that it's suitable for all seasons. Some people like to shoot outdoor scenes in winter, some others shoot indoor scenes in summer. But no matter what season you are shooting, there is always a time to adjust the lighting. For example, if you use a green screen in winter and then add blue background in post-production, it will look bad because the blue background looks more vivid than the normal environment.
Realistic ambient lighting
Another advantage is that it can work as a real monitor. Most monitors are calibrated, which means it doesn't look like a normal monitor, and then some color effect will be added in post-production to make your footage looks more realistic. However, with an LED wall as a green screen, you can get a real screen directly which will save you post-production time and cost.
Cons of using the LED wall as a green screen for virtual production
Can be expensive
One challenge is that it is a little bit expensive. Compared to the traditional green screen, it has more advantages, but it also has a higher price. It's really up to you if you want to use it or not. If you have enough budget, then I highly recommend using the LED wall as a green screen for virtual production because it will save your time and cost in post-production.
Camera picking up moiré
Another challenge is that camera might pick up moiré. Moiré is a pattern that appears when two grids are overlapped, and it's very hard to remove in post-production. So if you want to use the LED wall as a green screen for virtual production, then you should choose a camera with high resolution. And if you have a 4K camera, then there will be no problem at all. So make sure your camera can handle it before using it as a green screen for virtual production.
Visual artifacts
Some people don't like the LED wall because they think it looks too visual. And that's why it doesn't have enough contrast and color reproduction, which means you need to adjust some parameters in post-production. The most common problem is chromatic aberration, which comes from a lens or light source. Because of chromatic aberration, some color is missing in one pixel.
Dropped or doubled frames
Another challenge is dropped or doubled frames. If you have enough budget and skills, then you can use chromakey software to fix it.
