Watched the MLB movie and I just. I WANT to gush about it but the fact that Marinette’s regular voice actor and her singing voice actor sound SO different just took me out of it every time and left me feeling very disengaged;; At least Adrien’s singing voice kind of sounds like his speaking voice (and Gabriel’s is 👌 bc my king Keith Silverstein can actually sing and he can sing REALLY fucking well) but Marinette’s. The voices are COMPLETELY different and it threw me off every single time. Like obviously her singing voice is really good and I understand why they picked that person to do her songs but bro you could have at least TRIED to get someone that sounds similar to Cristina Vee. It drove me nuts every time she sang bc I was like “That is CLEARLY a different person entirely!!”

I’m realizing this might have been a dubbing issue but still 😭 I feel like I would have enjoyed the movie way more if it didn’t look like Marinette was lip syncing the entire time bc there was such a huge disconnect between her speaking and singing voice

Nothing in the hatchetfeild-verse has ever been able to top the guy who didn't like musicals because nothing beats the basic concept of a guy who hates musicals being forced to participate in a musical.

Like, Paul panicking while people sing at him is so good. It is so good and while the other musicals in the trilogy are also great, they really loose that charm that comes from Paul and company being scared of people singing at them. Like I love how it's the one musical where you don't want the main characters to sing because that means they lost and it's just ahhhh it's so good and it's also so fucking funny. I love the guy who didn't like musicals so much. It's my favorite starkid musical and maybe even my favorite musical in general. It's just so good

So, I have this friend from choir while I was still in high school who's Genderfluid as well, which I love, (he uses He/They pronouns) and awhile ago, we made this cover of Bikini Bottom Day from The SpongeBob Musical, and it's definitely a few years old as it's from 2020.

Yes, while the world was in COVID lockdown, I was remotely making covers with my friends to keep my sanity, pffffft. Discovering this musical actually really helped during lockdown, because the songs are so lovely and fun, and it just makes you happier when you listen to it.

Anyway, I just wanted to share more covers I've done, and I actually still kind of like how it turned out?? There was definitely a period where I was embarrassed by it, but I think now, I really enjoy listening to it again.

I was The Narrator, SpongeBob, Gary, Patrick, Plankton, Karen, and Pearl. My friend was Squidward, Sandy, and Mr. Krabs. Plus, we both did all of the background vocals.
