Watching a streamer play the Elden Ring DLC and seeing them complain that a boss did something that looked similar but acted differently to a base game attack sums up what I think most Gamers™ are pissed about.

Shadow of the Erdtree isn't hard, but the aforementioned Gamers™ expected it to just be the base game when it really isn't. So when they see something that vaguely looks familiar they assume they already know what's going on, rather than approaching it as what it is - new.
