Octokuber, day 6 - Kaiju
(pulls up a chair) This is a Final Wars propaganda post.
It is 125 minutes of pure nonsense. It is a cinematic boss rush. It is wrestling if all the matches were marinated in nuclear waste and fed to aliens. They bought the rights to Zilla just to wreck him to kingdom come. Actually, Godzilla bodies all the kaiju in this movie so hard that they're never seen again. The chicken guy I loved enough to draw and put here? He's there for like five minutes and he gets blown up. The soundtrack is unironically great. Take everything left from me. All. To. Blame.

Listen. I know, I KNOW we all have mixed feelings about the finale. Just in the last hour, I’ve read at least five posts on each side, some saying it was the best thing filoni’s ever created, and some literally cursing his guts. As I watched it, I was leaning much more to the how dare you, I waited two years for this and this sucks side, but I had a good night of sleep and some thought, and. I think everyone is overreacting.
Some thoughts.
First, I do think it should have been an animated Rebels season 5. I am partial to live action in general and I’m so glad we got such fantastic casting. But Filoni really shines in the animated world. Live action has limits that animation laughs at, and with all of Dave’s creativity and parallels and callbacks and history in animation, it would have suited this show better. Granted, the viewership might have been worse than it already was, but who’s to say?
Secondly, of course the whole thing was a setup for future movies/shows. It would have been near impossible for this to be a standalone series, with only 8 episodes and so much at stake. I still have absolutely zero idea how this fits in with the s*quels, but I hope it’s all part of the plan to safely extract our (Filoni’s) favorite characters before all hell breaks loose on the narrative.
BUT. Just because it was a setup doesn’t make the story any less meaningful. Dave is the master of arcs within arcs within arcs within arcs. There was the mini arc of Ahsoka and Anakin, reconciling very (very very) complicated feelings and Ahsoka coming to grips with her past as a child soldier and forgiving Anakin for the choices and mistakes he made. There was the mini arc of Hera in the New Republic and how she has to balance her loyalty to the government that she helped to establish with her loyalty to her family (something I don’t think we’ve seen the last of). There was the mini arc of (obviously) finding Ezra!!!! HE’S HOME, YOU GUYS. Sabine did the selfless thing and sent him home after a decade to have a fighting chance to reunite with his family. And to meet Kanan’s son and to see the beauty that Lothal has turned into and to hug his adoptive mom. And she has full faith in him that he will be back to get her, or that she’ll find a way to go back. Because she now has knowledge that he didn’t before, and with Ahsoka’s help and probably Shin and Baylan too, there’s no way they won’t Jedi their way out of this. (*cough* world between worlds *cough*) Also seeing Morai was a HUGE plot twist. I, for one, can’t WAIT to see what’s up with that.
FINALLY. and I think this is something that Star Wars fans (dare I call them fans anymore?) seem to always forget is that Star Wars……. Kinda sucks. It always has. No one in their right mind would say that Star Wars is a literary masterpiece or anything close to that. Star Wars is great because you are literally required to take it all with a grain of salt. Nothing goes at face value. You have to overlook things for the rest to make sense. You cherry pick your favorite parts and ignore the rest. Do I know absolutely anything about mandalore and their political history?? Not one single thing. But could I explain to you the nuances of the aptly-named Disaster Lineage and how generation trauma comes in more ways than by blood?? I could write PAGES. There’s so much history and lore and side characters and branches of story and nuance that no one can ever fit it all together perfectly, no matter how good of a storyteller they are. You have to pick a niche and run with it, and that’s exactly what Dave Filoni is doing. AND that’s what we as fans need to do. If you’re mad that he didn’t address the chiss as a whole or delve into the mysteries of the nightsisters or expand on what happened between Ahsoka and Sabine in depth, then I’m sorry, but you’ve come to the wrong place. Put on a pair of rose colored glasses and cry at Ezra’s reunions with the rest of us.
I’ve stopped expecting perfection from any major franchise (haven’t watched a marvel show or movie since TF&TWS) because the bigger they get, the less they’re going to appeal to the general fan base. And Ahsoka was no different. But it did accomplish one thing: bringing Ezra Bridger home after 10 years, and I think that is all we actually need to worry about for now.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Godzilla Minus One Review
One of the finest films in the long running franchise. The series has always been at its best when it's focused on Godzilla being the main danger and the humans involved. Fighting other giant monsters is fun to watch, but they are more mindless popcorn movies and often miss the point of the character. It's the 1954 original, The Return of Godzilla, 1998 American version, Shin Godzilla, and now Godzilla Minus One that have something to say beyond just the citywide destruction.
This is the most character centric one since the original. The main character has a terrific story that could exist entirely outside of a Godzilla movie, but works wonderfully in combination. The aftermath of World War II makes for a perfect setting, with everyone dealing with their own personal tragedies from the conflict. Having a giant monster invade the island really emphasizes the losses that so many had. Though there's curiously no mention of the vaporization Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which the original was an allegory for, instead focusing on the firebombings of Tokyo. Like the best creature features, it's about how the people respond to the monster rather than the monster himself.
Of course, the big draw is and always will be the Big G. This is one of the most terrifying versions ever put to screen. His design combines the best from the Heisei and Millennium eras. He's more animated than Shin Godzilla and it sends a chill down your spine when he's looking at you. His atomic breath is the most powerful it has ever been, being like a bomb instead of just a ray. The destruction of the Takao and Ginza is absolutely horrific, especially with a good sound system. Even little touches like how his feet sink into the road with every step really help sell the size and power of the monster. There are times when the movie goes long periods without anything from Godzilla, and other times when he's a constant distant presence like the shark from Jaws or Michael Myers. The story never slumps, but a few more reminders that he's still out there would have increased the tension.
The graphics look outstanding, especially considering how small the budget is compared to so many recent big budget effect films that look so obviously fake.
The entire cast is great, with Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe giving heartbreaking performances.
The music is terrific, especially when the iconic theme comes in. The first time it's used seems out of place, but its absolutely cheer inducing when it's used in the finale.
My only real complaint is that it lacks the allegory of the better movies. The series has always been an obvious commentary on events like Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Three-Mile Island, and Fukushima. As good as the story is, it lacks that meaning that has made the better films so iconic.
Still, considering how many American films have underwhelmed and bombed this year it's nice to see a movie make so much out of so little.

what your thouget on ashoka finale and live action rebels?
I mostly enjoyed the season! I have a few gripes with the finale but it had its moments.
I thought the first 4 episodes were excellent! Those first 2 at introducing (or re-introducing) all the characters. I especially loved Sabine's introduction. The end of episode 4 was the high point for me - seeing Ahsoka wake up in the WBW and be greeted by Anakin!! So good!
But I did find the next episode a bit of a let down. It was cool and all seeing Ahsoka and Anakin clone wars flashbacks etc, but I don't really know what the point of it all was? I get that she was meant to have been 'reborn' as she started wearing white and crossing her arms less after, but she didn't seem all that changed or different? And all the stuff she went through in WBW was never mentioned again.
Baylan and Shin were awesome! But definitely underdeveloped. They were so fascinating and I wish we'd gotten more of them.
It did feel like Ahsoka wasn't really the main character in her own show. It was more about the Rebels and Thrawn's return, which is basically a sequel to Rebels (so why not just call it that?).
The finale was fine. Enjoyable. Just a bit underwhelming. Didn't really care much for the Morgan and nightsisters. The lightsaber fight scenes were a bit meh. Of course Thrawn was going to return, setting up the next big bad of the Mando-Verse. Ahsoka and Sabine were left behind - obviously they'll make it back at some point (so they're most likely planning a second season). Ezra made it home!! I'm super bitter they cut the scene short before he and Hera hugged. That was another issue I had, they kept cutting scenes just as something interesting or an important character moment was about to happen. The end with force ghost Anakin watching proudly over Ahsoka was a nice way to end the season. It just didn't really feel much like a finale? It's probably to set up for S2 or the movie but I just wish it had concluded things a bit better.
As for the live action Rebels:
Sabine - Natasha Liu Bordizzo is fantastic!! She was so great as Sabine! Crossed over seamlessly into live action. I'm not sure how I feel about her being full on force sensitive now - I really didn't think thats where her story was going? But she played it all really well regardless.
Ezra - Eman Esfandi is PERFECT!! He embodied Ezra perfectly. The way spoke and moved was straight out of Rebels. He absolutely nailed it!
Hera - I thought Mary Elizabeth Winstead did great with what she was given! She just seemed a little flat sometimes. It could've been because the makeup/prosthetics were limiting her performance, or maybe thats just how she was written? Idk.
Jacen - ADORABLE AND PERFECT! Seriously he was so great!
Chopper - Nowhere near enough screen time!
And we didn't see Zeb. Or Kallus. C'mon they could've given us a small cameo at least?

Amorette's song:
An royal Au! Ushijima x reader. You, are his queen but he knew you were only a dream, a wish. But dreams and wishes are meant to come true.
Genre: Fluff
Word count: 2.1k
Ushijima knew what was to come of his dream. His dream that one day you would be his queen as you both rule Shiritorizawa. The dream that he wished will come true. They say that reams are impossible, like how wishes are so far out your reach. But he was determined to make you his queen, his lover, and his one and only. That was a bold statement coming from the 13 year old prince. He knew that it will never come true. You, the sophisticated, the amazing, and wonderful princess of your kingdom. He knew that you will never be his queen, you were 3 years older, after all. That age gap, isn’t big nor is the relationship entirely impossible. But, as the crowned princess, Ushijima knew that you would be married off. That you would be in another’s arms. That you weren’t his.
“Ushi,” Your voice echoed in his ears. “Yes?” He responded as he looked up from his book. His eyes laid on your relaxed figure. To him you were so perfect, a goddess reincarnated. You inspire him to be the best king he could be to his people. You were his inspiration, his drive to be better for his people. You had such a huge impact in his life that everyone can see how he adored you. As he peered your gaze, he realized how sad they look. The shin in your eye, dead. The smile on your lips didn’t reach your eyes. He immediately knew something was wrong. “Is there something wrong?” He then added as he placed his book down and sat beside you. He would stop anything just to make you happy. You were the queen of his heart after all.
“I’m being married off to a prince. A prince, I know nothing off,” You responded as you looked at him. As those words left your lips, his dreams and heart shattered. But he wasn’t surprised, it is to be expected. His eyes widen, his heart shattered but he remained stoic. “As heirs, we fulfill our duties as rulers of our kingdoms,” He then said as he looked away, not wanting to see how sad your eyes look. You were his weakness and he can’t bare the sad look on your face. “At least I know that I taught you something,” You then said as you patted his head. You stood up and glance at him before leaving. That was all you wanted to do, you wanted to give him space, knowing that he needs time to digest it. You knew that this would impact the both of you greatly. But as the crown princess, it’s duties before your heart. That is what no fairy tale tell its readers. And ever since that moment, you two tried to spend as much time together. From frolicking in the garden to reading together. You both made more memories that will hopefully help the growing emoty space.
But that was 5 years ago. 5 years of him yearning to see you again, to hear your voice. 5 years of having an empty space in his heart. A void only you can fill. The two of you did was exchanged letters, but he wanted to see you, wanted to see if you are okay. He had heard that your supposed groom, had an affair and the whole thing was cancelled. But, he still wasn’t able to see you. You haven’t contacted him in 3 years. He has grown wary and depressed. Why is life so unfair sometimes? But that is the world we live in. He thought he would never get to see you again. But here you were, in front of him, talking to your old friends. Where have you been these 5 years? And now, of all places, he was able to see you. Kuroo wasn’t wrong when he said he will invite everyone.
“Pardon me,” He then said to Daichi, who was talking to him a while ago. Daichi saw where Ushijima was looking and chuckled. The smaller king knew who she was. The supposed future queen of Shiritorizawa, as he was acquainted with. “I wish you luck, my friend,” He then said before he left the taller to go to you. Daichi knew that this king wouldn’t let you go, no matter how hard he tried. All the blackette could do is wish his friend luck. Ushijima took a deep breath and started to walk towards you. Which the other girls had notice, and nudged you a bit. “Pardon my intrusion, my ladies,” He then said with a bow once he had reach where you were. “It’s no bother, your majesty. We were about to leave anyway,” your friends said as they left you alone. You were still the beauty goddess you once were. But you’ve grown more mature and look so gorgeous that Ushijima can’t help but blush.
“Ushi, honey, you’ve grown so much,” You said as you placed your hand on his cheek. His blush darkened as he looked away. Your touch, it’s something that he longed for. Your voice, your honey like voice. He missed how you sounded and how you talked. Whether gentle and soft or rough and oud, he loved it. As he turned back to you, his eyes had the same look on them ever since he was younger. A look of adoration and love, something that had always been with him. When it’s about you, all he can think about is how he loves you. Your so called imperfections is all perfect to him. You were a goddess to him. You were perfect to him. “It’s been 5 years, Nee-chan. Of course, I have grown,” He said as he leaned into your touch. “5 years? It really has been that long,” You then said as you retracted your hand. But, Ushijima grabbed you hand gently and intertwined with his. “What happened to you?” He then asked as he looked at you. “You stopped sending me letters 3 years ago,” He said softly. His eyes pleading you to explain your disappearance.
You chuckled and shook your head. “I needed a break from the spot light,” You then said as you adjusted your crown. “After that affair incident, I ruled over my kingdom in peace. And I didn’t want to bother you anymore so I stopped. Not knowing whether or not you wanted to talk to me,” You added. “I’m happy that your kingdom is in great condition but I would never grow tired of you. Never,” He then said as he looked at you. There was an awkward silence that fell between the two of you. It’s been 3 years since the last you two talked and 5 years since the two of you have seen each other face-to-face. Ushijima cleared his throat and let go of your hand. He then stood in front of you and bowed. “Would you do me the honor of accompanying me to a more secluded place?” He then said as he offered his hand. You smiled and accepted his offer. He interlaced your hands and started to lead the both of you to a secluded area. The twist and turns of the crowd seem never ending. But soon enough, you both reached an open balcony.
“This is better, isn’t it?” Ushijima said as he led on the railing, with you by his side. He looked at you and he was mesmerized. You, you looked so good in your dress. The color complimented your skin and your body type. You look ravishing. Your accessories and make-up brought out the most defining features. Everything he had learned to love. His heart beat quickened and his cheeks flushed. Even after 5 years, his heart still belongs to you. He waited and waited for you, and now that you are in front of him. He just can’t believe his eyes, you grew so much.
Not only with looks but as a person as well. He can see how you matured as a person. You seem more at peace. You seem more mature than what you were then. “The moon is beautiful, isn’t it?” You said as you looked at him. His cheeks turned red and he cleared his throat. A phrase he never thought he would here. The moon is beautiful, isn’t it? Another way to confess love. Especially popular under the moon light in his kingdom. “Pardon, what was that?” He asked as he started at your eyes. “The moon is beautiful, isn’t it?” You then repeated as you held his hand. “I can die happy,” He responded as he smiled softly. A reply that completes the phrase. “H-how long had you liked me?” He asked shyly. “Ever since we were younger,” You then said as you looked up to the moon. “I knew you liked me and it was mutual but as crowned princess I knew I had to fulfill my duties. So I kept it a secret,” You added.
“You’ve been hiding it all this time?” He asked as he cupped your cheek. “If you would’ve told me sooner, I would’ve fight for your hand,” He said as he kissed your forehead. He wanted you to know that he won’t stop waiting and loving you. He wants to fight for you, showing you that he is the one for you. “That’s what I didn’t want to happen,” You said. “If you did fight for my hand, it might lead to war, which is counter-productive,” You added.
“Nevermind that, Can I finally call you my queen?” He asked as he hugged you. “I want the world to know that my heart belongs to you,” He added. The moonlight shone on you two as if you both were the main characters. The fairy tales you’ve read can’t fully describe what the princess felt when she met her one true prince. The way that both of your hearts beat in synch and the fluttering feeling. The tales can’t grasp the way he held you. He held you tight as if he were to let go, you would run away. Yet, he also held you as if you were made of porcelain, one wrong move and you’ll break. The fairy tales were right, once you find your true love, doubts and troubles seem to fade away.
“Of course, I’m yours and yours alone,” You said as you looked at him. He slowly leaned in and kissed you softly. With his soft lips on yours eyes flutter shut. You both held each other and savor the feeling. It felt as if time had slowed down. The way his hands wrapped around you protectively. The way your lips danced with his. It all felt surreal, something out of the tales you grew to love. As the music played in the background, you and he felt the dreamlike feeling of being in a fairy tale. It felt like forever when the kiss ended, cliché as it sounds, it feels so true. As you both stared to each other’s eyes, a familiar music came right along.
The intro for “This is Love” from the movie Cinderella. Ushijima smiled and offered his hand. “Shall we dance?” He asked. You accepted this offer and grabbed his hand. He placed your free hand on his shoulder and his on your waist. He then started guiding you to the rhythm. Contrary to the music, you both danced in a slightly faster pace, like in the movie. Your dress swayed, back and forth. He pulled you close, still managing to lead the dance, like a prince should. You felt like Cinderella and he was your prince charming. As you both dance within the area of the balcony, the moon’s light and the stars blessed the earth with their beauty. The song continues on but that wasn’t the only thing you heard. The whispers of the wind, the soft songs of the creature, and the chatter from the hall. But, all that didn’t matter to you. All you can focus on was the words that left Ushijima’s lips.
“You are my world,”
“You are my dream, my queen,”
“I love you, so much,”
“I dearly hope this moment would last just a bit longer,”
Ushijima spoke phrases and words that makes your heart pound. His words and this scene etched into your heart as the song continues. Once the song ended, you both were in the dead center of the balcony. Staring at his olive orbs, you know that this is where you belonged. He was your home, your sanctuary. “And I’ll love you always and eternally,” He then said as he pecked your lips. Even a simple action like that, it sent shivers down your spine. This is what Ushijima had dreamt about. You, in his arms, secured and safe. You, his future queen. It’s everything he could ever hope and asked for.
Dreams are a wish your heart makes. No matter how your heart is grieving. If you keep on believing, dreams that are wish, will come true.

Hi beautiful! You're amazing and I love what you write. Pls, continue what you're doing. 🖤 Can you do something for Peter, like him knowing he's gonna marry the reader since they first got together until they finally do it? I think it will be pretty cute. Thank uuuu!
Summary: Peter told his best friend, Ned, he’d marry the girl back when they started dating. Even though some things got in their way, they finally got where they always wanted.
A/N: I’m sorry I took a little while to get to your request but considering that I always take forever to get to your requests, this was actually okay. And I LOVED that I got a wedding request because tbh I’m in such a mood to write/read about it (send me your fic recs to read about it). I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did.
Also, I’ve been kind of bummed out that I haven’t got much feedback on my fanfics lately. An anon left me a pretty message and thank you for that one. I dedicate this one for you (idk if you’re also the one who requested this one haha).
Words: 5.5K (a biggie)
Pairing: Peter Parker x Female Reader
Warnings: Swearing, a little angst, crying, mentions of death, Endgame spoilers (?, dude it’s been more than a year).

MARRY ME
“Peter, I think you’re rushing into this.” Ned was helping Peter sat the table for their traditional movie night with a bunch of snacks. “You just met her and you’ve been dating for less than a month. You’re already inviting her to our movie nights.”
“Look, Ned. She’s cool and I really like her. You’re gonna like her too.”
“But this is our thing. Do you really think she’s gonna like sticking around us, watching Star Wars and eating extremely unhealthy food.” Ned showed some salty pretzels he just poured in a pot. When the doorbell rang, Peter rushed to the door.
“Just… be nice to her, okay?” He opened it and found you just standing there, the prettiest girl in the whole world - under his eyes. You were looking so cute wearing your jeans, a big hoodie that probably belonged to him and a slight blush on your cheeks, that only increased once Peter opened the door. He gave you the biggest and shiniest smile in the world, enough to warm her heart.
“Hey, I’m sorry I’m late.” You glanced down to your hands a big pink box. “I went to get some cupcakes in our favourite store in Manhattan and got a little late.”
“Totally worth it.” He cupped your cheeks and softly pressed his lips against yours with a foolish smile on his face. “Come in.” He gave you space to come in and took a good look around the room.
Peter’s apartment was cosy. You loved to hang out there because it was always so good and you loved it since the first time you even set foot inside it to meet his aunt and have dinner with them. Right now it was a little different because May wasn’t home and the whole living room was a mess, full of blankets, pillows and snacks. Ned was sitting in the corner making himself busy with salty pretzels.
“Hi, Ned.” You greeted with a smile and he smiled back.
“Hey, (Y/N).”
“Sorry, I’m late. I hope you like cupcakes because I brought many of them.” You opened the box and Ned’s eyes shinned.
“You brought blueberry lemon? It’s my favourite!” He grabbed one with such excitement, making you giggle.
“Pete told me which one you liked it. I brought everyone’s favourite.”
“Pinneaple cream.” Peter picked his cupcake and gave her a pick kiss on the cheek.
“Also May’s red velvet cupcakes and my chocolate ones.”
“You need to hang out with us much more.” Ned said, making you giggle even more and rest your box over the table. You pulled the pretzel pot over and sat on Peter’s lap, resting your head on his chest. He involved you two with a blanket, making you both comfortable.
“What are we watching today?” You asked and the boys shrugged.
“We usually spend a full hour looking for something new to watch, but we end up watching Star Wars again.”
“So let’s skip straight to Star Wars.” You said chugging a bunch of pretzels on your mouth.
“You like Star Wars?” Peter frowned and you chuckled.
“Babe, we’ve been dating for almost a month and you don’t know my favourite movie?” His mouth fell slightly opened and Ned got excited, getting up to start the movie.
“So Star Wars it is!”
Peter couldn’t be happier than his girlfriend and his best friend were getting along. He loved to have you in his arms during the whole movie, just to feel you a little bit because you haven’t been this intimate in more than a week and he missed you. He loved when you and Ned started to argue about the movie and just rambled for some minutes and falling into laughter after a long discussion. It was a long night and they had a great time together.
“I have to leave now. My mom’s downstairs to take me home. But I had a good time with you guys today, I’m sorry for ruining the guy’s movie night.” “You’re invited to every single following one, (Y/N).” Ned said and Peter smiled to see that he changed his mind.
“Thank you, Ned. I left some cupcakes, and please don’t eat May’s.” You pleaded and they both nodded. “Good night boys, I’ll see you in school.”
“Nigh, (Y/N).” Ned said walking to the living room to give them some privacy.
“Good night, my love.” Peter said leaving one last kiss on her lips, making her smile widely. “Text me when you get home.”
“I will.” You waved at him and he waited until you disappeared from his sight to close the door. He returned to the living room with a stupid smile on his face, sitting next to Ned who was enjoying another cupcake.
“Oh, I love her so much.” He mumbled looking up to the ceiling. “Ned, I’m gonna marry her someday.” “Dude, how can you be so sure?”
“Because if it isn’t her, I don’t want to get married at all. She’s my everything, she’s perfect.”
“Aren’t you rushing into things? The last time you went this fast it ended up with Liz Allen breaking your heart.”
“This time it’s different. She isn’t Liz Allen. She’s my angel and I’m gonna marry her someday.” Peter smiled own himself and thought about how much he loved that girl and how special she was to him. He wanted more than anything to be with her forever.
“She’s just a High School girlfriend, Peter. Those relationships never last.”
“Wow, Ned. Very nice, uhm? I thought you liked (Y/N).”
“I do like her, but I’m being realistic.”
“Well, I don’t know. I hope you’re not right. I love her so much it hurts.”
“Whatever. Let’s play Dungeons and Dragons.”
(...)
“Uhm, you smell good.” You mumbled against Peter’s neck. He smiled and pressed a kiss on top of your head. You were cuddling together on a small seat back in the school bus coming back from a field trip. You were holding onto Peter’s arm while your legs rested over his and you gently rested your head on the crook of his neck, with his resting on top of yours.
“You sound tired.” He mumbled and you nodded.
“I’m very tired. And starving.” You looked up to him and he pressed a small kiss against your lips.
“Why don’t we go over to my apartment? We can buy a couple of Delmar’s along the way and just cuddle for the rest of the day. Maybe you could sleepover…” He suggested, blushing slightly since he never invited you to a sleepover before.
“I’d loved that.” You rubbed circles on his face and gently kissed his lips again. Once you pulled away, you got your head back in the crook of his neck and closed your eyes to get a little nap since you were so comfortable that way.
You and Peter have been dating for several months now, you weren’t sure how many, but you knew it’s been a long time. And you were glad that you were finally growing into a more mature relationship and you were proud of what you’re becoming. You couldn’t wait to see where you were going next and it was exciting.
You were almost snoring with Peter’s arms involving you into a comforting hug and slightly rocking you, but you felt his arms tense up and you shot your eyes open to look at him. Peter was staring outside the window with a worried expression and you sat straight to meet what he was looking at. A giant circle was flying over New York and you could feel he knew something was wrong.
“I guess we’re not doing Delmar’s and sleepovers tonight.”
“I am so sorry, baby.” He kissed your lips and you nodded.
“Go get ‘em, tiger.” You whispered against his lips and he nodded, turning around to see Ned sitting next to MJ, who was too distracted reading a book.
“Ned, I need you to cause a distraction.” Peter pointed his head to the circle and Ned’s eyes widened.
“Holy shit. WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE, THERE’S A SPACESHIP…” Ned ran for the back of the bus making everyone follow him to see what was going on. Peter gave you one last look while putting his web-shooters on and opened the window before grinning to you with concern.
“I love you.” He said and your heart ached because something about it seemed wrong.
“I love you too.” He shot the window and got out of it, disappearing in the New York skyline. You leaned against the window and watched him go again with a sharp pain in your chest.
“He’s gonna be okay.” Ned mumbled standing next to you in the hallway and you nodded, too worried to say anything. He sat next to you and rested a hand on your shoulder. “You could stay in my apartment for a movie night until he gets back. We can watch Star Wars.”
“That would be great, thank you. I could use a distraction.”
“He’s amazing and you know that. He’s gonna be back home in time to join us for the movie.”
But he wasn’t and you were starting to get concerned. You managed to get quickly to Ned’s apartment and not get any harm. You parents were still at work and stuck there, so they were glad you were with someone to make you company. He tried to cheer you up, even made snacks and got a new Lego for you to build, but you were too worried about Peter.
You sat down and watched the chaos on TV and there was even footage of Spider-Man, Iron Man and some other heroes fighting bad guys and it made your heartache to see your boyfriend in such dangerous situation. So you cried over a pot of ice cream offered by Ned and just rambled on to him about every concern you had until he managed to make you calm down with funny movies and some snacks.
“We ran out of salty pretzels.” You said once you realized it was all gone.
“I have chocolate pretzels if you want it.” He suggested and you nodded.
“Pretty please.” He chuckled and went to get some in the kitchen. You kept on watching the movie until you heard a shattering glass sound as if he dropped the bowl on the floor. “Ned, are you okay?” You stood up and went to find him in the kitchen, meeting nothing but a broken bowl, chocolate pretzels all over the place and a pile of dust lying next to it. “Oh, God.”
You tried to reach for your phone but it fell from your hand as you watched it turning to dust. Your eyes widened and even though you wanted to scream or say something, you couldn’t. All your mind was thinking of was Peter and all you could do was pray that he was okay. And suddenly you were gone.
(...)
When you woke up you felt a little dizzy. Your vision was blurry and you could throw up right there if you had anything on your stomach. You head was in such a huge pain and your muscles were all tensed up. You were very confused and you just lied until your vision was okay again and you could sit up, finding a very strange place. An adult woman was standing in the living room with a shocked face, a glass up water broken on the floor. You frowned, trying to recognize that woman or the place you were, which were not unfamiliar. This was Ned’s house.
And then you remembered everything. The field trip, Peter, being in Ned’s apartment and turning into dust. Your eyes widened and you stirred in your heels to look around the room, finding Ned sitting on the floor, rubbing his eyes, just confused as you. Nobody dared to say a word until Ned himself said.
“Holy shit!” He cursed and shot up quickly. “Mom?”
“Ned! I thought you were dead.” The woman ran across you and hugged her son tightly, sprinkling kisses across his face.
“What happened?” He asked and the woman was soaked in tears.
“They called it The Snap, at least that’s what the Avengers told us when they came back. And half of the population of the universe turned into dust, including you and your father. I was the only one left.”
“(Y/N).” Ned said and got off his mom’s embrace to meet you in the living room, pulling you into a tight hug. “Are you okay?”
“I guess so. I’m a little dizzy, though.”
“I’m gonna get you something to eat and some medicine to take.” The woman said and you followed Ned the living room, where he changed channels to the news one, showing that everyone was back. You sat there, trying to process the whole thing and trying to remember what happened until you remembered the most important thing.
“Peter…” You whispered and looked at Ned. “Where’s Peter, is he okay?” He shrugged a little hesitant and his mother came back with two sandwiches.
“Peter died with you all when it happened. But since you two came back, maybe he’s back too.” She said and you nodded, taking the sandwich.
“Thank, Mrs Leeds. But I should go home, my mom must be looking for me.” You said and she nodded. “Ned, if you hear anything from Peter, call me.”
“I’m sure he’s gonna get to you first.”
“Don’t care, bye!” You ran out of the apartment and quickly walked to your own, which wasn’t so far away from Ned’s.
The street was chaos, people appearing out of nowhere and reuniting with their loved ones, it was almost getting in your way home. You ran on the streets, trying to get there as quick as possible, even though you were eating a sandwich and your head was hurting a lot. Your mom and dad were standing in front of your building and you ran for their embrace.
“Sweetheart, you’re okay!” Your dad said, pulling you tightly into a hug.
“I am, dad.” You said hugging them ever tighter. “What happened to you guys?”
“We stayed alive, you were the only one who was snapped and we were… devastated.” Your mom started to say and she was crying more than anything right now. “I’m so glad you’re okay.”
“What about Peter? And May?”
“They both snapped sweetie.” Your father said and you were lost in tears. “But I’m sure they are fine now, just like you are.”
“God, I’m praying for them to be.” You said and your mom nodded.
“Let’s get you upstairs, you look horrible, we’ll take care of you.”
Thank God your father was a doctor and had everything you need to be okay. He got you an IV access for serum and medicine, lied you down in your bed and had your mom making you something to eat.
“I want burgers. I’m so hungry.” You said and she smiled nodding.
“I’m gonna make as much as you want them. I’m not sure if they are delivering food today.” Your mother winked and you chuckled.
Right after she came back with two burgers, they just filled you in with everything. Five years had gone by and half of the universe was wiped from existence and they even had a funeral for you, a small one since there weren’t many people left, but they never got the courage to pack all your stuff and give it away. Your mom was three months pregnant because, after years of mourning for you, they decided they needed to try having kids again and now you were gonna have a sibling. And they told about the battle and the day Steve Rogers came to television to clear everything up for everyone. You found out that now your parents knew about him being Spider-Man, that they met Tony Stark because he visited them to meet the family of Peter’s gorgeous girlfriend and he made them swear they wouldn’t give Peter’s secret away. Oh, you missed him so much and you wish he was there so you could take care of each other.
After a long night catching up on each other’s life, your parent’s decided you needed some sleep because even though you were gone for five years, you must be tired, so they removed your IV and left the room. You tried to phone May, but she wasn’t getting your calls, neither was Peter and you started to worry. That’s why you didn’t sleep at all when your parents left, you stood wide awake, worried about your boyfriend and trying to reach him somehow. You gave up when tiredness started to hit you and it was almost four in the morning, you needed some sleep. That’s was when you closed your eyes and seconds after it, you heard a noise on your fire escape.
Spider-Mans suit was much different from the last time you saw it, since before it was much more subtle and now it is an iron suit, just like Iron Man’s. Peter looked just the same from the last time you saw him, except that he had many bruises and dry blood all over his face. He looked tired and hurt, but especially sad, with tears in his eyes. You stood up in a heartbeat and ran for his arms without even saying a word. Peter relaxed one you held him and it felt like the whole world’s weight left his shoulders.
“Oh my God, I can’t believe you’re here.” You whispered in his ear and he gasped. “I thought I had lost you.”
“Me too.” He leaned back and cupped your cheek, rubbing it with his thumb and taking in every detail of your face. He kissed you and it was… magical. So needy and the only thing that mattered right at that moment. Peter leaned against the wall and pulled you by the waist. He pressed a button to contract his suit so he could feel your skin, making him moan in your lips. “Baby, you have no idea what happened.”
“You can tell me about everything. Just let it all go.” You rubbed his back and he started to cry even harder.
“Tony died. He died saving all of us.” He started to sob and you pulled him into a tight hug. “He died right in front of me and I did… nothing.”
“I’m so sorry Pete.” You could feel his pain exhaling to your body and you wanted it more than ever to go away.
“All I could think about was you, from the second I came back. I fought for you, to get back to you.” He moved some strays of hair from your face and kissed you again, with much more intensity. “Marry me.” He whispered against your lips.
“What?” You were drunk in his kisses and he kept them happening.
“Marry me, (Y/N) (Y/L/N).” He whispered again between kisses and you broke them off.
“Peter, we’re still in High School.”
“I don’t care, I just wanna be with you for the rest of my life.” He said it again, initiating another kiss. “All of this only made it more clear, that you’re the love of my life and the universe gave us a second chance to be together and I don’t wanna waste even one second of it. I wanna be with you forever because if it isn’t you, there’s no point at all. I wanna marry you, (Y/N). And I’ve never been so sure of everything before in my life.”
“Then marry me, Peter Parker.” You smiled and pulled him into another kiss. “But can we at least wait until we graduate?” He nodded with a small grin on his face.
“We don’t need to rush. I’ll just keep asking you every day until the wedding.” You laughed and pulled him to bed.
“What about May? Is she okay?”
“Yes. She’s in the hospital, a little dehydrated. Uhm, we lost the apartment and we don’t have a place to stay right now, so I guess she’s fine there. I’ll just crash at the Stark Tower in Manhattan.”
“Hell no! We haven’t seen each other in five years and we just got engaged. You’re gonna stay here and I’ll get you something to eat and take care of you.” He smiled softly and you left the room to get some things to take care of him.
Eventually, your parents woke up and your father took care of Peter’s wounds and got him an IV just like yours. You all filled in each other’s lives and now everyone knew what had happened during this time you were gone. Peter got so happy when he heard that your mom was pregnant and he was happy that at least in your life everything was okay. He didn’t know how he’d recover from this, but he knew there would always be someone to help.
“Oh, Peter. We have a spare bedroom that soon is gonna turn into a baby’s room. But there’s still furniture left in there and we can keep it that way for some more months. Why don’t you and May stay with us until you find somewhere to stay.”
“That would be great.” He smiled and nodded. “I hope it doesn’t bother you.”
“Not at all! You’re family Pete.” Your mother caressed his face just like you do. “I guess you’re gonna need some rest. No funny business you two, but you can share the bed tonight.”
“Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. (Y/L/N).”
“Good night, kids.”
“Good night.” They mumbled watching them closing the door.
“Feeling better?” You asked and he nodded, pulling you closer to lie with him.
“I love you more than anything in the world.”
“I love you too.” You pressed a kiss on his nose and turned around to be spooned.
“Good night, future wifey.”
“Good night, future hubby.”

You wanted more than anything to just shut your computer down and do something else to relax, but exams were close and you needed to study harder than ever. You knew college wasn’t easy, but you didn’t know it was that hard. After many years of struggling with the end of semesters and many essays to do, now you had your apartment instead of living in a small dormitory on campus. Taking care of it and having to deal with college stuff was hard, but that was just being a grown-up.
First, it was easy because you shared the apartment with your boyfriend Peter. You decided to move in together since you were in Harvard, he was in the MIT and maybe moving in together would make you guys see each other more often, which was a big lie. Peter stopped doing his Spider-Man duties when he wasn’t in New York, but still was working on Stark Industries inside the MIT and it was consuming most of his time, so he was never home.
After a while fighting tiredness, it finally won and you decided to stop studying to lie in front of the TV, maybe drink some alcoholic drink and order pizza because you were too tired to do anything other than procrastinating. You missed Peter more than you could express and you wish he was there to lie with you and just watch a full season of Parks and Recreation with you and doing silly Ben Wyatt impressions just because he knew you liked it. But the door never opened and he never came back home.
“Hi, darling. I’m so sorry I’m late.” Peter entered the apartment holding a big pizza box. “I ran into the pizza guy when I got here and got it for you.”
“Uhm, my hero.” You opened your arms to hug him and he pulled you up into a koala hug, one you very much appreciated. “I missed you so much.”
“I missed you too.” He kissed her temple and she leaned back to analyze his face, grinning. “What is it?”
“You’re so beautiful.”
“Oh, baby. You’re beautiful too.” He kissed her again and settled her back in the couch. “Did you have a nice day?”
“Uhm, not really. Kind of tiring, I spent the whole day studying. And you?”
“Well, I’m not exactly thrilled today.” He said and leaned back into the couch, taking you with him.
“What’s wrong baby?”
“It’s Tony’s death anniversary.” You nodded, knowing how hard this was for him.
“Oh. It’s okay, I got you.” You said and he smiled weakly.
“I don’t know. I just spent the whole day working and suddenly that whole day couldn’t get out of my head. I know it’s been years, but I remembered every detail of it, the battle, seeing him dying in front of my eyes. And then I remembered coming back to you.”
“The night we…”
“The night we got engaged.” He finished your sentence and you nodded. “I’m just kind of bummed that I keep asking you to be my wife over the years, but we were too young, and then we didn’t have money. But now I have a job, we’re almost out of college and I think we’re old enough to get married now.”
“Babe does this means…”
“I want us to finally get married.” He said and you widened your eyes.
“Oh my God, are you sure?”
“Yes! But I want to do this right, you know… Buy you an engagement ring, find a new place for us in New York, get that big wedding we’ve always wanted.” He said and you nodded excitedly.
“Are we really doing this?” You asked and he nodded with a big smile on his face.
“Only if you want to.”
“Of course! I want this more than anything in the world.” You jumped into his arms and kissed him hungrily. “Ugh, I love you so much. You sure know how to make my day.”
“I love you too, bubs.”
(...)
“Hey, everyone’s waiting for you. Are you ready?” MJ knocked softly on the door and found you checking yourself out in the big mirror in your room.
“I don’t know. Do I look alright?” You turned to check the back of the dress and MJ smiled.
“You look amazing, as always.” She chuckled and you smiled at her. “So I think you’re ready.”
“I think I am.” You were shaking and nervous, which MJ noticed and rested a hand on your arm to calm you down.
“Your father is waiting for you.” She left after she said those words and you glanced at yourself in the mirror to breath deeply one last time.
“Let’s do this.” You whispered to yourself and walked out of that room, nervous as fuck. Your dad was fixing his tie by the time you got there.
“Oh my God, sweetheart. You look… stunning.” His eyes watered once he saw you. “I loved the dress.”
Thank you, dad.” You smiled at him and gave him a big hug. “Do you think Peter’s gonna like it?”
“He would like it even if it was the worst dress in the world. The only thing that matters to him is the girl wearing it.”
“So, you’re not giving me a ‘don’t get married’ speech like every father?”
“No.” He smiled tenderly and kissed the top of your head. “I trust Peter and I trust you. And you belong together.”
“Thank you, dad. I love you.”
“I love you too.” You entwined your arms and the music started to play. Making your heart beat faster and you swear you could just throw up right there.
You and Peter decided to have a wedding over the Starks lake house once Pepper offered you the place the day you both visited her and told her the good news. You were both thrilled to have an outdoor wedding facing a pretty lake. It was the perfect place to make everything official and you couldn’t be happier.
“Okay, let’s do this.” You said and they opened the front door so you could step out in the porch and meet everyone waiting for you.
Peter was waiting down the aisle and his eyes watered to see you wearing a wedding dress and he was the lucky guy you were getting married to. He just couldn’t believe how lucky he was to get the girl of his dreams. You cried too, he looked to beautiful as well and it was like everything around you disappeared when you were both in the room and that was all you needed. Your dad shook his hand and walked to join your mom in the front row. Peter smile was bigger than you’ve ever seen before. He leaned in and kissed your forehead before pulling you to the small stage.
You got to finally take a good look at the crowd. Lots of superheroes and their families, some friends you made over the years, a few families, including your mom and dad sitting next to May, Morgan and Pepper. Your best friends were also sitting in the front, always giving you the biggest support. You smiled to see everyone there, in the most important moment of your life. The ceremony started and the minister got to say a few words before you could start your vows.
“(Y/N), my pretty girl. I don’t think you remember this, but years ago, back when we started dating, I invited you over to my apartment for a movie night with me and Ned. You brought cupcakes and watched Star Wars with her. We already knew you were the coolest person in the world and that we had a great time that night. But there’s one thing you don’t know. That was the night I first said that I was going to marry you someday, and I kept that promise. We got engaged when we were only 17 and I kept asking you to be my wifey over the many years that followed. Thank God we finally got here.” He was holding your hands and looking directly in your eyes, that were watering with every word he was saying. “I had long nights awake thinking about what to say to you when we started to plan the wedding and to be honest, I still don’t know what to say. “ You all chuckled, but you squeezed his hands to comfort him. “I guess I just wanted you to know that you’re the prettiest girl in the whole world and that I love you more than life itself. It’s been years since I first said I wanted to marry you and nothing ever changed. I love you with every cell of my body and I will love you through all eternity.”
“You dummy.” You chuckled and he took a deep breath.
“Life tried to tear us apart and when we finally got a second chance after the snap… I just knew it was meant to be and I’m really glad we’re doing this today. I vow to always take care of you, just like you have taken care of me through all these years. And I promise to try making you happy every day and to always be by your side when you need me. I love you, wifey.” You mouthed an ‘I love you’ back and he smiled.
“(Y/N), your vows…”
“Pete. I don’t even know where to start. Okay, let’s just start with our first date. We were so raw and we talked about a lot of intimate stuff on the first time we went out and I just knew I trusted you with all my heart and you trusted me back. You told me you wanted to start a family of your own someday because you wanted to make a kid have a good life with their parents like you never had. I was already so head over heels for you that in already knew I wanted to be the person you created your family with.” He was crying much more than you were at that moment. “I thought I had lost you many years ago and thank God we got a second chance because I wouldn’t know what I’d do without you and our little family. I love you since that one, and I love our story, how we got here and the battles we fought together. They are just as important to me as you are. And I’ll love you until my last breath, just like I did some years ago, and just like I will when the time comes. I’ll love you through all eternity, hubby.”
“Peter, do you accept (Y/N) as your wife?”
“I do.” He said looking you in the eyes and you couldn’t be happier.
“(Y/N), do you take Peter as your husband?”
“I do.” You repeated his words and if he could, Peter would have just kissed you right there. You slipped your rings in each other’s fingers and kissed your hands.
“I now declare you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
Peter took you in his arms and kissed you as he had never done before, and to be honest, it was the first time you kissed as a married couple. You were over the clouds and proud to be right there with him, you couldn’t be happier after all those years trying to get to that place. It was the perfect timing and meant to be.
“I love you, hubby.”
“I love you, wifey.”

08:00 - Morgan Library, New York City “Wake up, Buckaroo. We have another library to occupy.” you shake him awake. “God, this feels like the 40s,” he grumbled rubbing his eyes. You cleared your throat, “Good morning, Sergeant Barnes,” you climbed on top of him, “Breakfast ends in 20 minutes.” His hair was ruined three seconds later with a giggle before he grabbed you in the middle of your escape. “Way better,” he grumbled into your hair. “You like it when women are soft and you can protect them. I read you like a book, Barnes.” you grinned. “I have a metal arm that’s shielding from bullets. Of course, I like to be protective, Agent.” he chuckled letting you go and made a run for the food.
“Davis? Bucky?” The two men looked up to you from their food before you sat down on their table. “There’s a lower building across from the library that you could take a sniper rifle to. Sounds like a job for you both. I’ll go front and some of the civilians come from Bryant Park.” “You’re right. She really is a badass.” Captain Davis mumbled over at Bucky. “She’s getting the shit done.” He shrugged looking over at you with a smirk. “I guess that’s an affirmative.” You smiled at both of them before starting to eat your soup. “It is, General Andromeda.” You got a wink back. “If I get the paygrade of a General by the end of this I could get used to being called by that title.” You grinned wide.
Two hours later, after you helped the settlement to change their interior around in a more strategic way in case of an attack, you finally wandered towards the Public Library in a group of about 20 people with rifles and vests. “Groups of three on each side entrance. Two with me. Barnes on that building. Davis on that one. Understood?” you looked up at the circle around you. “Understood.” Came back in a choir. “Showtime, guys.” You grinned, picking out the two people to come in through the front with you. A guy with military experience and a girl that grew up in a forest, being perfect with knives. “Everyone on position?” You asked over the communication devices. “One. On position.” “Two. On position.” “Three. On position.” You let EADA scan the entrance area. Quite a few guards. “Wait till we go for it. They might want to escape. If there is nobody after I gave the signal you can storm in.” you told them. You looked left and right to your partners for the mission and each of them nodded. “Going in.”
You jumped over the car you were hiding behind and throwing a bomb with that momentum to land right in the entrance area. “Two gone,” you whispered before getting out your two pistols while the bomb exploded. The second it went up in flames you ran to the next best cover and landed a few good head and torso shots from there. “Wait on my signa-” You were choked from behind. “Whatcha gonna do now, sweetie?” A dark voice chuckled. You yanked your head to the side and felt blood on your cheek shortly after together with a thud behind you. Bucky. “Thanks, partner.” You grinned. “It’s what I’m here for. Always watching your six.” He smiled through his scope. “That sounds like a pick-up line about my ass.” You giggled. “That’s a talk for after the apocalypse, darling.” You got rid of 4 more guards. Your two partners of 3. Bucky and Davis of 5. “Storm in.” you called out kicking in the door that was mildly damaged from the bomb. Head, torso, head, torso, shin, head. You aimed up at staircases and made your way through the rest of the building. “You good? How many?” you asked the others. “Everyone dead. 3.” “Same here. 4.” “Two here.” “Skim through the entire building and make sure nobody is hiding,” you mumbled into the ear piece, suddenly hearing footsteps. In a matter of seconds you got out of your cover and shot the person sneaking up on you in the shoulder, after making sure it wasn’t someone friendly you landed another shot into the head. “Scum,” you grumbled, kicking him before ripping the dog tag off of him. You put your wrist to your mouth, “Eda, scan for important things. Electronics, important books to keep in an extra space, anything.” “There is a computer still up and running in the front row.” Came back shortly after. “Good.” After hacking your way through the computer without much information recovered you finally stepped out of the building again, seeing a guard still securing the front. “Wanted to keep that one for you.” You heard Bucky in your ear piece and smiled before sneaking up on the man and sticking a knife into his throat. There was a lip bite and a suppressed groan behind the sniper scope. He shouldn’t be turned on by this. He really shouldn’t. “Everything is cleared.” EADA informed you. “You can move in, Captain.” “You’re really something else, Agent Andromeda.” “I know.” You winked up to where he was positioned.
-
“God, I love that my favorite sauce comes in glasses. Apocalypse proof food.” You smiled over the pot of pasta that was cooking. You had made Steve’s floor of the building into your little area after the mission went well and you had reported to the others about the day. “Something that isn’t soup and veggies is the thing I’m personally more excited about, but sure.” He chuckled while nudging you. “I really don’t know how I keep doing all of this without getting stressed out by it, you know?” You smiled up at him while pouring the sauce into a pot. “Yeah. Guess you have a good motivation behind it.” His hand was on the small of your back. “Well, it’s pretty simple. I thrive on killing bad people.” You shrugged. “That is a little dark, but valid.” He scrunched his nose.
There were tiny lights throughout the city, but the sky was beautiful again. Not a single cloud. You had snatched yourself blankets and sat down on the deck overlooking the city. “I wish New York had days every year where all the lights would just stay off. I remember when the skyline had like 4 or 5 skyscrapers and you could still see the stars well in Queens.” “You took girls on dates there, huh?” You grinned over. “Yeah.” He smiled up. “Definitely better than going to the movies,” you commented before shoving the next fork of pasta into your mouth. “I just like the wonder in other people’s eyes when they stare up that the sky.” He said a little dreamy and you looked over at him with the softest expression imaginable.
“So, Rockefeller Center and Times Square tomorrow?” You asked after finishing your dinner. “Two control points in a day?” He asked back surprised. “Those are both open spaces tho. Come on, Bucky. We are Avengers and we know the faster we get that done, the better the snowball effect will continue.” You grabbed his shoulder. “Guess you’re right, Ann.” He gave you a lopsided smile. “C’mon. Let’s have a good night of sleep here and kill some of those bastards tomorrow to get your hometown back on track.” You gave a cheeky grin. “Don’t have to tell me twice, darling.” He said standing up and looking down at you for a second.
The next day was filled with two missions and a few more civilians fighting with you on the missions. You’d finally given them hope to get their town back. The Times Square area was full of food resources and antiseptic equipment. To your surprise the reinforcements for that base were not very intense and you had the base in two hours. “Build a few walls around it, have people in the houses looking down before eventually building outlook platforms.” You told the ones staying behind to hold the post. “The rest? We’re going shopping...kinda.” You chuckled.
The Rockefeller Center was a little bit harder, but still a 3 hour takeover with Bucky and Captain Davis on your side. “This is going to be a little bit harder to reinforce, but I’m sure you can find a few ways and a minigun to put there.” You pointed at a good spot and got salutes back. “Damn, I need a break now. And you need a bandaid for that cut.” You pointed up at Bucky. “That’s gone by the time you found one,” he said grabbing you closer on the walk out of the area. “Can I have some of that supersoldier healing?” You chuckled putting your arm around his back. “If I could give that to others, I would.” He laughed. “Let’s go home and watch something from Tony’s Blu-Ray collection.” You looked up. “How about...Star Wars?” He suggested. “Ugh, fine.” You rolled your eyes playfully and got a pinch into your side through the vest.
You started really appreciating the perks of this tower having power in the middle of all of this happening. You had the luxury to not only help friendly people with supplies, but you were able to live normally outside of your intense day job. “Rogue One is just the best.” Bucky mumbled with Chips in his mouth. “It’s badass.” You gave him a fond smile and he stopped in his tracks, eyes innocently going up. “You can have the rest, dork.” You laughed, boxing his arm. “If Steve would see this he’d give us the biggest monologue in history.” He grinned. “You’re eating on the couch and watching Star Wars in the middle of the apocalypse!” You said imitating his frowning face. “Imagine that in small and how hard it was to not roll my eyes every minute of every day.” He shook his head. “Small Steve would be a really great activist nowadays, I assume,” you said tucking the blanket around you tighter. “Yeah, probably. Turned into an idiot with a frisbee instead. Can’t blame him, he’s still a good friend.” He shrugged. “Vibranium arms are definitely better than vibranium frisbees.” You chuckled. “Ya think?” He held his arm out slightly before giving you a fake mad glare and a fist formed towards you. “You act all tough most of the time but I know that it’s just a front. You’re a softie.” You giggled taking his hand and felt the hand turn around and grab your hand. “Guess I like to scare people with my image.” he grinned. “Well, you’re not that anymore. You’re soft Bucky, killing the bad guys.” You smiled at him. “Yeah.” He stared back at you with shimmering eyes for a while. “Another movie?” You mumbled and got a nod back.

OptimusPhillip Reviews 26: Studio Series 59 Shatter
Fourth and final week of Studio Series Shatter and Dropkick. We had a bit of an awkward start, but car mode Dropkick turned out quite well. Today, we will be reviewing jet mode Shatter. Does she keep this new hot streak going, or was Dropkick just a fluke? Well, the fandom seems to love her, so let’s take a look and try to end this subseries on a high note.
Jet Mode
In the movie, Shatter transformed into a McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II. Unlike most Studio Series figures, however, this figure is not actually licensed by Boeing, so it’s not a perfect match for the real vehicle. Most notably, the wing shape is slightly different with under-slung blasters instead of drop tanks and missiles, and there are added fins on the intakes. Still, it looks close enough to the real thing that it looks right for the character. Though like Dropkick, it’s hard to find a clear shot of her in jet mode in the film itself to compare it to, so I can’t tell if the red and black stripes on the fuselage are accurate or not.
What most certainly is not accurate is the exposed legs on the rear undercarriage. Unfortunately, the legs are too heavily detailed for the robot mode to effectively hide in jet mode, so you’re left with a mess of gears, pistons, and armor plates instead of a realistic tail section. On the plus side, though, they do match the curve of the jet decently well, so it all still flows relatively nicely.
This figure also has a rather surprising undocumented feature. The most famous feature of the Harrier jet family is that it possesses vertical take-off and land (VTOL) functionality, and this toy actually features this as well. There’s a panel behind the cockpit, that you can flip open to reveal a pair of VTOL engines, which are also sculpted into the underside. Not only that, but the rockets on the rear of the jet (which, by the way, are compatible with the blast effects from War for Cybertron) can also fold down... even though the real Harrier jet doesn’t have adjustable rockets on the tail. Also, if we want to get technical, the top panel should open double-door style, but it’s still a really cool feature.
Conversion
Shatter has probably the most fun transformation of all four figures. The first time I transformed her, I was practically squealing with how clever the engineering was. The legs transform about the way you would expect: flip down and split the tail, rotate the shins and flip up the feet, though the rear fins do fold up rather nicely. After that, however, is where things get interesting. First, the wings and turbines come apart and fold out on double hinges, then the entire front of the plane folds down to reveal the folded up torso. After that, the arms split apart, the torso rotates, and the head comes up, pretty basic again. But then you return to the backpack and this is my favorite part, to the point where I actually want to give a spoiler warning, because this is truly best experienced blind. If you don’t want to be spoiled on this beautiful piece of engineering, skip ahead to the robot mode section.
You open the VTOL panel and flip the wing-turbine assembly around. Then you take the tip of the nose and fold it up, revealing a slot. That slot connects to a tab on the VTOL panel, which props the entire wing assembly up on her back. I. Love. This! It’s a great way to incorporate what would’ve just been a piece of kibble into the design of the figure and give it an actual purpose. After this, rotate the turbines until they tab into place and bring them down as far as they’ll go. Flip the side panels of the jet up until they’re hidden behind the wings, then rotate the wings down until the swivels for the side panels find their resting spot under the turbine. And now for the coolest part: the front landing gear tabs into the back of her waist, bringing the robot mode together nice and solidly. I repeat: the landing gear is an essential part of the transformation. Is it legal for me to marry an action figure? I think I might be in love. Anyway, once the landing gear is tabbed into place, that’s it: the robot mode is complete.
Robot Mode
This figure is probably the most screen-accurate out of the four I’ve covered so far. The only inaccuracies I can spot are some missing paint apps, the panels on her forearms, and the tail fins on her calves. Aside from that, every detail on this figure is lifted directly from the movie. The turbines and wings on her back, the shape of her shoulder guards, the car parts on her chest, the vents on her kneecaps, even the little nubs on her shins are all just like the film model, and that’s not getting into all of the mechanical detailing on her torso and arms. It legitimately feels like I’m playing with a miniaturized version of the robot from the movie.
This extends into the head sculpt. Unlike the car mode figure, which features her briefly used battle mask, this figure depicts Shatter’s full face, with every individual moving part sculpted in to recreate the movie as close as possible. And aside from some missing silver on her antenna and helmet, everything I can see in the CGI model is present.
Posability-wise, she has a ball-jointed neck, but it can only rotate and look up. Her shoulders are on ball-joints, only limited by her turbines. Bicep swivels and 90 degree elbows on soft ratchets. Ball-jointed hips, with really nice outward range, thigh swivels, and 90 degree knees. For the feet, not only do you get a transformation joint that allows them to move upward, but remember the adjustable rockets in jet mode? Those end up attached to her feet, so you can flip them down to give her rocket boots. Honestly, posability is probably the only spot where she doesn’t wow me, but that’s only because every other figure so far has had good posability... except for her car mode figure.
Finally moving onto accessories, she comes with two guns designed after the forearm cannons she used in the movie. They fit nicely into her hands and give a good illusion of her arms transforming. While they lack any red paint apps, they are a very close match to the shape of the gun in the movie. Plus, the little nubs at the end are just the right size to fit War for Cybertron blast effects. This seems less intentional, though, because they aren’t perfectly round, but it’s still a thing you can do if you want to do it.
Just like the Dropkicks, both Shatter figures are equally tall at the head, so any figure that scales well with one scales well with the other.
Backdrop
Shatter’s backdrop is dubbed “Sector 7 Deception” on the back of the box, and depicts the inside of Sector Seven Headquarters as seen in the movie Bumblebee. Like most Studio Series backdrops, it’s not a frame perfect recreation of any particular shot, but it bears a close enough resemblance to the set from the movie for me to be happy with it. It helps that the monitor readouts are very nicely detailed, not only with map readouts showing energon surges and a trace on B-127′s location, but lots of little lines of text that are too small to read, but appear to be actual text. If that text is just an illusion, it’s a really good one.
Now is the point where I talk about how the figure fits onto the stand, and... I’m sorry to admit it, but this figure isn’t perfect. Due to the large backpack, the figure cannot stand up straight on the platform without her toes hanging off the edge slightly. You can turn the thighs slightly to fix this, but her backpack still bumps against the backdrop and gets in the way of a lot of poses. And due to her wingspan, she can’t fit on the base in jet mode at all. So despite coming with a display base, you’d probably be better off displaying her on her own.
Final Thoughts
Shatter is a phenomenal figure. For the life of me, I can’t come up with a serious flaw. The jet mode is clean with an fun, unobtrusive feature, the conversion is a marvel of toy engineering, and the robot mode is a perfect representation of the character from the movie. Sure, she has a backpack, but there was no way around that with what the film gave us. This is definitely my favorite figure of either Bumblebee villain, and I would highly recommend her.

Movies of 2020 - My Pre-Summer Favourites (Part 1)
The Runners-Up:
20. DISAPPEARANCE AT CLIFTON HILL – first up is this sneaky little psychological mystery thriller from writer-director Albert Shin (In Her Place), a semi-autobiographical piece inspired by his own childhood experiences at his family’s motel at Niagara Falls. Sense8 star Tuppence Middleton delivers magnificently as a troubled young woman whose long-buried memories of witnessing a child-abduction in the area are stirred up following her mother’s death, while Shin weaves a palpable atmosphere of dread and doubt as the twisted narrative confounds our expectations.
19. BEASTIE BOYS STORY – Spike Jonze, undeniably one of Hollywood’s most outside-the-box directors, is the perfect choice to tell the story of one of music’s most live-wire bands (he did, after all, helm their greatest music video, the incendiary Sabotage). Unfortunately, MCA died in 2012, but Mike D and Ad-Rock are on-hand to remember their best friend during this endlessly fascinating live-recorded stage-show in which they recount their tale with the aid of Jonze’s quirkily edited montage of archive footage and crappy animations.
18. THE RHYTHM SECTION – Blake Lively follows in the footsteps of Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman to reinvent herself as a kickass action heroine in this dark and edgy revenge thriller from rising star female director Reed Morano (Meadowland, TV’s The Handmaid’s Tale), but she does things a little differently, portraying an instantly relatable, refreshingly vulnerable amateur warrior who enlists the help of Jude Law’s disgraced MI6 spook to train her to kill after her whole family die in a terrorist attack.
17. BOMBSHELL – the #MeToo movement gets its strongest cinematic ammunition to date with this challenging true-life drama chronicling the very public fall of media mogul Roger Ailes (portrayed with loathsome brilliance by John Lithgow) and the beleaguered women from Fox News who brought him down (represented here by the spectacular triumvirate of Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie). It’s hard to watch at times, but that’s the point, and the choice of comedy director Jay Roach (best known for Austin Powers) is not so surprising after thought-provoking films like Trumbo.
16. JOJO RABBIT – the year certainly got off to suitably eclectic start with this leftfield black comedy from Taika Waititi, following the misadventures of Hitler Youth cadet Jojo Betzler (an incredible debut from Roman Griffin Davis) and his imaginary friend Adolf (Waititi in his wackiest screen role to date) as they negotiate the final days of the Third Reich. In less assured hands this film could have been an offensive mess, but ultimately proved to be one of the year’s most rewardingly entertaining and surprisingly powerful films.
15. THE LAST FULL MEASURE – writer-director Todd Robinson delivers a powerful slice of true-life drama with this account of the 32-year struggle to secure a posthumous award of the Medal of Honour for the Vietnam War sacrifice of US Air Force pararescueman William Pitsenbarger. Sebastian Stan stars as the Pentagon staffer embarking on a frustrating battle against decades of red tape, and there’s first-rate support from William Hurt, Ed Harris, Samuel L. Jackson and Peter Fonda as the traumatised veterans determined to see their fallen comrade finally get the recognition he deserves.
14. BLOODSHOT – right now, the 2020 award for my biggest guilty pleasure goes to this gloriously OTT ultra-violent superhero flick, intended to be the opening entry in a big-screen shared-universe based on the Valiant Comics properties. Vin Diesel is no-brainer casting as brutally murdered US marine Ray Garrison, brought back to life using nanotechnology which grants him superhuman strength and massive regenerative abilities that render him virtually indestructible. This is big, loud, dumb cinema at its most fun, and I’m DEFINITELY up for more.
13. THE LIGHTHOUSE – rightly winning awards from all quarters and garnering massive praise and recognition, writer-director Robert Eggers’ second feature EASILY eclipses the low key brilliance of his debut horror flick The Witch, thoroughly outdoing it in terms of sheer nerve-shredding anxiety and mind-scrambling WEIRDNESS. Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson both deliver career-best performances as the 19th Century wickies suffering increasingly crippling cabin fever in their remote New England lighthouse.
12. A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD – like many kids of the 1980s, I have strong formative memories of Fred Rogers (I may be Brit, but my dad was in the RAF, so we spent three very key years of my childhood living in St Louis, Missouri), so I was FASCINATED by the prospect of a biopic, especially if the great man was going to be played by one of my very favourite actors, Tom Hanks. He thoroughly deserved his latest Oscar nomination for effortlessly bringing Mister Rogers to vivid life under the expert guidance of writer-director Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) in this spellbinding emotional extravaganza.
11. DANIEL ISN’T REAL – undoubtedly destined to become a future cult classic, this quietly unnerving and insidiously disturbing psychological horror from indie writer-director Adam Egypt Mortimer (Some Kind of Hate) is certainly one of my top under-the-radar hits for the year so far. Patrick (son of Arnie) Schwarzenegger oozes toxic masculinity as Daniel, the decidedly malevolent imaginary friend who’s suddenly resurfaced in the life of emotionally fragile New York student Luke (Blockers and Halloween’s Miles Robbins), knocking his life into a nightmarish spiral of Lovecraftian existential terror.

By my side - Mingyu x reader
Warning: Sexual content, swearing(?)
Type: requested (I’m sorry, it was meant to be jealous but I went for fluffy jealous, it’s also only 2k words, I’m sorry!)
You were dozing off lightly, waiting for Mingyu to come home. He had been getting more missions lately and it scared you that one day, he just wouldn’t come home. You stay awake every night and wait, but tonight you were particularly tired from work and you fell into a light sleep. You awoke to foot steps in the house. Happily getting up to great Mingyu, you were left with a cloth over your mouth and a drowsy feeling until you could only see black.
When you woke, you were still drowsy, your mouth was dry and you were extremely disoriented.
As you slowly tried to get up, you felt something strong keeping you down. Dizzily looking down, you saw leather straps tied to your arms. Leaning further, you saw the same for your stomach and legs.
Hearing footsteps approach, you quickly pretended to go back to sleep.
“Hey, Johnny, why do you think Taeyong wanted her?”
“I heard something about seventeen messing with his girl that he had to break up with? Apparently this is revenge for taking his girl. Look, Mark, our job is to just do as he asks.”
“Yeah, I guess you’re right.”
The boys came in and kicked your shin, trying not to flinch and let them know you were awake, you knew it would bruise later.
“How much did Doyoung use on her? She’s still asleep. It’s been hours.”
“Should we try give her water so she doesn’t die?”
“What if we make her choke?”
“Taeyong will probably kill her anyway.”
“Fine, let’s go get water.”
Hearing the killing part shocked you. Seventeen was meant to have an alliance with NCT.
Still feeling dizzy, you dozed off to sleep again. When you awoke, you were feeling nauseous and disoriented yet again. As you corrected your posture as best you could, you could feel the bile rising. Looking around for anything to throw up in, a bucket was placed in front of you. You throw up bile and what seemed like water before looking to your left. You hadn’t seen the man there but you had seen him before. Mingyu had mentioned his name was Jaehyun when you went to NCT’s club. He was apparently second in charge and was the silent type. Before you could stare too long, you started throwing up again. There was no walls but you could only assume that you had been throwing up for five minutes before you stopped and the door opened. In the door way stood a tall, lanky man with obviously dyed red hair, dressed in nice clothes.
“Taeyong, the boys over did the dosage, she’s been sick for the past five to ten minutes.”
“Does it really matter, Jae?”
“Tae, do you wish to start a war? A war of which we can’t win? Not even with our new trainees.”
“Not a war, Jae, I just want to rough her up a little, teach them not to mess with my girl.”
“With all due respect Tae, you broke up with her and she seemed content with S.Coups.”
“I’d recommend you shut your mouth about things you don’t know. She may have seemed content but she wasn’t. The way she smiled at me, her careless touches, I know she still loves me.”
“Of course, I apologise for stepping out of line.”
“Now, what to do with her. She seems like Lucas’ type.”
“And just what are you planning?”
“I know Coups, I know him too well. I know the way he would have touched her after he took her back to their headquarters, the way he’d hold her of a night time. I’m just returning the favour. Lucas! Get in here.”
Behind Taeyong, an even taller boy stumbled in, his hair was brown at the roots but moved out into a blonde, his shoulders were boxy and if anything, he was handsome.
“Yes Taeyong?”
“This lovely kitten requires attention.”
“You don’t mean?”
The question hung in the air, not wanting to be finished before Taeyong gave a curt laugh and nodded.
“I don’t mean to speak against you, but this isn’t right. You’re just mad, you need to cool off.”
“I’ll let that one go because you’ve had a long week but if you don’t take her, I’ll throw her to the local thugs.”
Lucas seemed to think before nodding in understanding and walking over to you. He lent to your height as Jaehyun and Taeyong left the room. Lucas looked up to your eyes and you could tell he didn’t want this as much as you didn’t, his eyes spoke sorry in so many different volumes.
Mingyu’s P.O.V
It was 3 am and he was covered in blood and sweat. This was by far the worst week in the mafia by far but the thought of you sitting at home, in bed watching a movie or you cooking dinner and waiting for him to eat with you pulled him through and kept him strong.
He tumbled into headquaters to file a report to Seungcheol before heading home to have two whole days off with you, to just spend relaxing and enjoying your presence. As he walked to Seungcheol’s office, he noticed Minghao giving him a weird look that made him uneasy. He quickened his pace to Seungcheol’s office and pulled open the door. Cheol was surprised at first but quickly settled down when he realised who it was.
“I’m here to report.”
“Mingyu... before you report, we have more... how do I say this? More important things to discuss.”
“Look, I just want to go home to Y/N, can it wait until I get back?”
“Well, that’s the thing. Please stay calm, but Minghao saw a member of NCT break into your apartment and the house was surrounded by other members. Minghao thinks they might have taken Y/N, he wanted to help, but it was just him. We’re sorry Mingyu.”
Mingyu slammed his fists on the desk in front of him before rushing out of the room and to his apartment.
When he arrived, everything seemed in order, nothing seemed broken. When he entered, he could hear the television on. You never left the television on if you weren’t in the room, it gave him a small glimmer of hope. When he walked into the room, the bed was a mess, the television was on and your slippers were gone. He’d seen your car was in the drive way and the keys were still there, he knew there was only one possible explanation. He marched out of the apartment and back to headquaters. His first stop was Boo, he got all the weapons he needed to kill every single asshole that was in that mafia gang. His next stop was Jihoon to find out where they had taken you. Apparently they were stupid enough to take you to their headquaters. When he left Jihoon’s office, Soonyoung, Minghao, Vernon and Jeonghan all stood waiting with guns. Seungcheol stood unarmed next to the group.
“I don’t condone killing NCT but wounding them will prove as a warning, all of the boys said that Y/N was their friend too, so they’re going. Stay safe, all of you.”
Seungcheol then left to go back to his office as Mingyu and all the boys loaded into the car.
They arrived at NCT’s headquaters and there was standard guards there. Mark and Johnny stood watch. Walking up to them, the boys knew immediately why they were there, not even bothering to fight the Seventeen boys, they instead lead them through. Walking down a hallway, Mingyu saw Taeyong leave a room. Mingyu quickly pulled his gun and shot him in the knee before anyone could stop him.
Vernon and Minghao seemed shocked at how quick he was, Jeonghan snickered at Mingyu and Mark and Johnny pretended not to notice, walking back towards the door, knowing they would die if they fought, they’d be killing their friends if they won and that their boss was being an asshole.
Taeyong seemed to growl a little and turn to Mingyu. He was about to pull a gun on Mingyu when Jaehyun stopped him, gesturing to the other members. Taeyong gave up easily, placing his gun back and taking Jaehyun’s hand as he escorted him back to what Mingyu could only assume was his office to remove the bullet.
Mingyu quickly scrambled into the room. When he slammed open the door, he saw you strapped to a chair, looking hurt and uncomfortable. He saw Lucas unbuttoning your shirt, just reaching to where your bra started to show.
Mingyu saw red, he charged at Lucas, constantly pounding into him, his knuckles turning red with the beating. He only stopped when he heard your sob and a weak ‘stop’. He looked towards you and saw tears streaming down your face.
“Mingyu, please. Please stop. He was just doing what he was told, he didn’t want this.”
Mingyu stopped and went to immediately cradle you in his arms. He unstrapped you first before pulling you into his lap. He held you close as you snaked your arms around his shoulders. Mingyu wept on your shoulder, glad to finally have you back in his arms.
Mingyu carries you out to the car and held you the whole way home. When you stepped out of the car in front of your apartment, the sun had just started to break into the sky. Walking with Mingyu into the house, you knew that this was perfection, that he really would give anything for you.
When Mingyu got out of the shower, he looked fresher, brighter without the blood fainting him and his handsome features. He was still just wearing his towel and even though you had seen it many times, it still made you rub your legs together. Mingyu seemed to notice the action from you though. He gently crawled on top of you and started kissing you, And unbuttoning your shirt, followed by your bra before he started making his way from your mouth, past your neck to your collarbones and breast. You could tell that Mingyu was jealous of Lucas, deciding to tease him a little, you brought it up.
“Mingyu, you wouldn’t happen to be jealous, now would you?”
“He saw you. He saw your perfect boobs, even if they were in a bra. Even just him touching you, you’re mine, no man is allowed to touch you.”
Mingyu’s voice was a whine as he moved to swirl his tongue around your left bud. He nibbles a little, letting you know you were in for a rough night. Mingyu had a dominance problem over you but you found it hot how much he cared. He roughly pushed past your waist bands and inserted two fingers into you as he pumped roughly. His other hand started pulling off your pants and panties as he moved his lips to your right bud. Once your clothes were off, he released the towel, his erection standing tall. He was impatient with wanting to show you that he was better than Lucas, so he quickly lined himself up and pushing himself in. You groaned in pain at the size but Mingyu started moving and you soon adjusted. Mingyu’s thumbs left an imprint in your hips as he kept pushing into you. He’d take his cock all the way out before slamming back in, hitting all the right places. He was watching you, observing your reaction to him. Knowing his praisal kink, you let compliments like ‘yes, there, no one does me like you’ and ‘no one will ever fill me up like you.’ And Mingyu would respond with his own compliment, ‘no one can take me like you’ and ‘I fit perfectly inside you, take me well baby.’ The night was filled with compliments and moans as Mingyu thrusted into you harder each time. Mingyu reaches his high before you, but he continued going at the same pace, pounding into you until you reached your high, only seeing him covered in soft morning light in your vision as you reached your high, looking like an angel. Mingyu cleaned you up after, making sure you had gone to the toilet and had a shower before going to sleep with him.
When you woke again, Mingyu sat beside you, tv on with your favourite movie. Smelling food, you turned to your side, you see your favourite dinner food beside you. Quickly getting up to pee before you ate, you put one leg out and then the next, but as you meant to stand on them, you felt unsteady before falling back onto the bed. Mingyu chuckled a little before getting up to help you. What a keeper.

Kingdom Chapter 600 Review
youtube
Kingdom has hit the milestone and what better way to celebrate than a massacre, brought to you by Houken. Remember, when you are losing, you call for Houken. More like Broken. It was bound to happen, but not like this. This chapter may not be as eventful and extravaganza as the previous chapters with intense action, but it is a reminder that the end to the great war is near.
We do have a cool recollection of every characters from the chapter or volume’s covers. It’s crazy to see how many characters can be squeezed within a single page. Anyone who has a hard time remembering a character in other series, try this one for a challenge. After feeling good about the achievement, it’s slaughtering time.
Houken’s invasion is practically a bloodbath. It’s bloody, gory, and downright horrifying. One guy didn’t even get to finish the line; got his upper head cut off. The double page spread is all kind of terror, even if you can’t stand the guy. The way how Kozen sees it reminds me of D-Day from World War II, where a man gets stunned to the ground, watches men brutally die. It’s a morbid sensation; feel bad for the old man.
The flashback scene is charming but saddening, mainly because I know what’s coming. There are times where a flashback doesn’t lead to death, but this one greatly leans towards it. Kozen was really like a second grandfather to him, or at least like a father since Moubu was like, “You look after him.” A page can tell you everything about their bond, including when Mouten began dating, which was funny how he “handles” it. It’s relatable in some regards, but charming as a whole. It hits me with emotions when Mouten shows his love like a grandson. He even go far as saying that Kozen will be the first to hold his child. It could have been heartwarming full circle story, but it wasn’t meant to be.
I said this many times before, but Hara really knows how to give a character a great sendoff. As sad it is for Kozen to go out, at least he ends on a high note. Rather running away, he stands and goes for one move to drive Houken away. That sounds like a wishful thinking, but shockingly, he actually stabs him. It’s stunning and perhaps a clue that Houken may not have a good sense, like he has no defense awareness. I don’t know if this was mentioned before, but that’s the takeaway I got from this “shocking” moment. That or maybe he can’t sense weak presence.
With all that said, Kozen does die and thankfully, Hara spared us without showing the end result. We know for a fact he was killed in a brutal fashion, but only enemies and fodders get the worst display; mostly. Regardless, it sucked that he had to die and the flashback made me sympathetic. At least he did it for Mouten; respect for eternally. I’m not going to like the reaction from Mouten, knowing he is planning to return now. I low-key want him to kill Houken, but we’ll see. Rest in Peace, Kozen. Blood or not, you were family.
After the killing spree, the chapter embarks a chain of build-up for the next day or so. I recall everyone, myself included, calling Riboku a hack for calling Houken out, just because he was losing. Hell, even Kaine thought so as well. Believe it or not, he didn’t call for Houken; he went out on his accord. I’m going to give Riboku a break, since he’s actually playing fairly, even if Houken is part of the Three Great Heavens. With that said, it’s interesting because Houken is searching for closure. That highly suggest this arc will be the last of him, let alone Zhao. We’re close to the endgame. Amazing how long-term enemy no longer means the final boss; hell, even Endgame movie itself for that matter.
To hype up the next day, Gyou’un is set to re-enter the battle tomorrow. Although it is crucial for Zhao to win, I believe Chougaryuu’s last words motivated him to return, even in a damaged condition. You got to respect their honor and pride as Rinshoujo’s apprentices. I assume we will learn about the second matter when Gyou’un fights. I’m really curious about it; that’s how much I’m invested.
It’s pretty amusing to watch Hi Shin Unit spend the night out. Shin didn’t want to miss it, so he literally crawl his way to the campsite. The imagery looks funny, especially Bihei thought they’re under attack. Ten also joins the fun. It’s a good feel moment that you rarely see everyone in one night hanging around for amusement. Shousa must be so proud from the sky. Speaking of rarity, Ousen finally send a message to them. We’re in the endgame now!
The next day’s hype has increased further with the latest strategy. It’s their job to bypass Zhao Left Wing and hit Riboku’s Centre Army directly from the side. It’s expected to happen the moment day breaks. It’s a bit hard to believe that we have been in this arc for over two years, and now, it feels like the end is near. It’s about to go beyond incredible very soon. The ending is assuring though curious about the direction. By that, I mean Ouhon has risen from his slumber. Good work, Kyou Kai. Part of me wants him to finish the job and kill Gyou’un. Shin has two kills under his belt, so why not give one to Ouhon. Either way, I can’t wait for the next day.
Overall, it was an interesting chapter. It started off with a downer with the loss of Kozen and others, but it left with a possible key to defeat Houken. There were many hints that the end is near with all the pieces (Houken) are assembled for the perfect storm. There were interesting build-ups for the next day, a nice relaxation with Hi Shin Unit, and an intriguing strategy to pave a way for the endgame. Ouhon is back up; not sure what Hara has in store. Congrats on the milestone; let’s go for another hundred more.

7’SCARLET
Release Date: May 25, 2018 (North America) Developers: Toybox Inc, Otomate Publishers: Idea Factory, Aksys Games Platforms: PS Vita ESRB Rating: T (Teen)
As the second title released by Aksys Games for their Summer Mystery Bundle, 7’scarlet offers one gripping mystery-solving game play amplified with a cute touch of romance.
Walkthroughs:
Hino Kagutsuchi Isora Amari Toa Kushinada Sosuke Tatehira Yuzuki Murakumo True Route & Final Character
Read the game’s synopsis here.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS Otome Visual Novels are either a hit or a miss when it comes to it’s story narratives. Just like Collar x Malice, 7’scarlet did one hell of a job foregoing a very intriguing mystery-type plot line while having a few romantic events as an additive to its overarching deep story. Like a really good book or a TV series, it was so hard to brush off the game’s story build-up as it became curiously engaging in each chapter you progress.
With the help of it’s unique visuals and animations, playing 7’scarlet was close to watching your favorite anime series.
ART One of the things I really enjoyed while playing 7’scarlet was seeing its astonishing BG images. It’s just so pretty, it’s like wallpaper material, no kidding! (giggle)
. The game’s artist was non other than, Kurahana Chinatsu an illustrator who’s also famous for her other popular works such as the character designs for Uta no Prince-Sama, Lamento (Beyond the Void), and Togainu no Chi.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Looking at these lovely BG images reminded me of browsing through expensive art catalogs!
SOUNDTRACK AND VOICE ACTING There are two opening themes, “World’s End Syndrome” and “LOVESICK”, you can unlock the latter after finishing a certain route in the game. The BGMs are good too, some are rather simple but very fitting for the game’s setting and story transitions. Heck, I ended up buying the whole 7’scarlet soundtrack in iTunes.
And like any other game, there will always be that one song you’ll end up getting stuck with, even after completing the game. Dat-one-song that gave you so much FEELS. In 7’scarlet, mine would have to be the song “Starry”.
Voice Acting
Nobunaga Shimazaki “Hino“ – Napoleon (Ikevamp), Kurogane Naoto (BlazBlue), Mitsuhide (Sengoku Nightblood)
Tetsuya Kakihara “Isora“ – Shin (Amnesia), Victor Frankenstein (Code Realize), Karasuba (Pyschedelica BB), Toki Tanba (Charming Empire)
Showtaro Morikubo “Toa“ – Impey (Code Realize), Reiji (Uta no Prince-sama), Okita (Hakuoki)
Chiharu Sawashiro “Sosuke“ – Shila (Snow White and the Red hair), Hero (Caligula Effect)
Shinichirou Miki “Yuzuki“ – Hijikata (Hakuoki), Nesso Galland (Black Wolves Saga), Bucket-Sensei (Bad Apple Wars)
Sanae Kobayashi “Yuki“ – Sara Nome (Macross Zero), Nagisa (Maid Sama)
Hiroki Yasumoto “Mr. Karasuma“ – Azrael (BlazBlue), Nidai Nekomaru (Danganropa V3), Hyuga (KLAP)
Hiroki Takahashi “Kagura Tsukuyomi“ – Rayne (Neo Angelique Abyss), Otohiko (Kamisama Kiss), Koujaku (DRAMAtical Murder)
Daisuke Kishio “Yasu“ – Azusa (Diabolik Lovers), Mizushima Arata (Kiniro no Corda: Bluesky), Kuzuryuu (Danganropa V3)
Chiwa Saito “Yua“ – Aoi Asahina (Danganropa V3), Taokaka (BlazBlue), Domina (Period Cube), Fate (Caster)
MAIN CHARACTERS (SPOILER FREE)
Recommended play order:
1)Hino 2)Isora 3)Toa – only unlocks after finishing Hino and Isora’s good ending 4)Sosuke – only unlocks after finishing Toa’s good ending 5)Yuzuki – only unlocks after finishing all of the character’s good ending
Hino Kagutsuchi
Childhood friend
Sporty
Dork
Hino’s story was cute. It had very few spoilers regarding the game’s overarching plot but his route did a good job catering as a story build-up for the oncoming routes you’ll get in to after finishing the first two recommended ones (his and Isora’s). I enjoyed the fact that Hino was physically a jock on the outside but covertly the biggest dork on the inside
(the guy fangirls on ‘kawaii’ things! Awww). His romance ventured more into the friendship-type-love rather than a mature one. His route wasn’t my favorite, but it was definitely a good start, nevertheless.
Isora Amari
Best Chef
Hot tempered
Jealous
Yandere
Just like Hino’s route, Isora’s story offers very few spoilers of the game’s underlying plot but was well written enough to create a very mysterious atmosphere of the town, Okunezato. Isora’s character depth was also deeper than I expected and I wished the writers expounded more on the justification of this character’s actions rather than just throwing it on the spot. Despite this, I love Isora Amari’s story. It had great pacing, enough to give you that creep factor you seek in every mystery-themed visual novel. His romance, on the other hand may or may not suit everyone’s preferences. Although I personally enjoyed it, I can understand how it may not work for some. ┐(︶▽︶)┌
Toa Kushinada
Cat mom
Clumsy af
Color blind
such a sweet boi!
So my first impression with Toa was: “Really?! I have to romance this clumsy nerd, seriously, game?”. Then I started playing his route just to get it over with and oh my goodness! I did not expected the sudden turn of events!
As I’ve probably mentioned repeatedly on my previous reviews… I absolutely love it when a game catches you off guard, and this route takes the cake! I was left speechless. I couldn’t talk more about his story without going into spoiler territory so I’ll leave it at this: Toa was such a great character and he deserves all the love in the world! Best boy (imo), one that’s definitely unforgettable.
Sosuke Tatehira
Smart
Neat freak!
Best Doctor
OC!
If there was one route that got me at the edge of my seat in 7’scarlet ~ it was definitely Sosuke’s. His story had great pacing where it started off very light and warm then surprisingly escalated into a few bemusing affairs. His route also introduced a more definitive and deeper story regarding the mysteries surrounding the town of Okunezato. While the suspense was a little overwhelming in this route, I wanted to commend on how the romance never took a back seat in Sosuke’s story. His relationship with the heroine felt genuinely real and I love both his and Ichiko’s character development. I also loved the fact that Sosuke was such a neat freak and becomes very obsessive-compulsive about something so simple such as a goldfish scooping game! The perfect husbando, if you ask me! (chuckles)
Yuzuki Murakumo
Jerk Boss
Hot!!!
Intense
Tsundere
While the suspense was building up in Sosuke’s previous route, Yuzuki’s story on the other hand was a power house of thrill and drama coupled with a few action packed scenes and romantic events… And although it happened so fast, all at the same time, I’ve got to say it was paced really well that it didn’t came out too forced nor too overwhelming with information. I personally love Yuzuki’s character. He’s cold and irritable on the outside but inside his icy personality is one very warm fluffy husbando!
His story was probably the most compelling as far as solving the mysteries of Okunezato goes.
Ichiko Hanamaki (You)
amnesiac heroine (explained in ??? ‘s route)
hates strawberries (explained in ??? ‘s route)
can’t swim (explained in ??? ‘s route)
Despite the the main protagonist’s naivety and recklessness to a point where you’d clearly have to question this heroine’s sense of danger
(laughs), Ichiko Hanamaki had a couple of good points up her sleeve such as her strong will and determination to look for her disappeared older brother in spite of being absolutely clueless on where to begin. Another enjoyable aspect, was how this heroine sometimes gets shamelessly clumsy in declaring her love to the gentleman of her liking. She had a couple of funny moments that got me all “wtf lol” ~ so it was never a dull moment playing her as the MC.
And it gets better… So the story doesn’t really end there. After finishing Hino, Isora, Toa, Sosuke, and Yuzuki’s route. Two more routes unlocks in this game.
Who is the culprit?
Another factor why this game was so entertaining to me was that it reminded me of playing Mafiascum; where each player gets to accuse anybody as the culprit and the accused needs to present alibis to which another player/s confirms it to prove his innocence.
As someone who’s been playing mafiascum online for a long time, the game’s conclusion was somewhat predictable but I’ve got to admit, it was one gripping read and the “True Ending” was painfully heartbreaking.
TRAILER
OVERALL THOUGHTS?
7’scarlet is a very well written mystery themed visual novel. While the story appeared so simple, the events where paced so good that the rise and fall of tension as you unravel the mysteries remained suspenseful enough to keep you wanting for more.
I had a couple of moments where I really couldn’t put down the game for a second just to eat or sleep because I had to know, I NEEED to know what will happen next!
Truth be told, I had never expected I’d get so emotionally attached to this game. It’s really one gripping read. It’s one of those titles that’s hard to get over with even after finishing the game play. I think an overall rating of 4.5/5 is an appropriate mark for 7’scarlet. The rest of the .05 completing the perfect score is just me wishing they could’ve done more with the last secret route as I did felt it to be a little lacking as far as how the story concluded.
I would say the animation and movie clips were an additional plus points. Although without it, the game still excels as one of the most compelling stories an otome game has to offer. Do I recommend this game? YESSSS! If you’re looking for a good mystery-romance themed visual novel with great art, music, animation and one unforgettable story that will rob you of words, 7’scarlet is the perfect choice. All your money’s worth it too.

An education Chapter 14
A/N: AH I’M SO HAPPY WITH YOUR COMMENTS ON THE LAST CHAPTER! I loved writing it, and I spent literal hours doing research, so it means so much! A quick disclaimer: I’ve read a lot of stuff about Norse mythology, and I know a bunch of my own, but I had to take a few liberties to fit the story and the myths together; just a brief reminder, that not all I write in canon within the myths and lore.
I just want to give huge thanks and a big, virtual hug to @redeyedvixen, for being an absolutely perfect and wonderful person, and to @shay-gen, for being the sweetest sweetheart I’ve ever met. You guys are golden!
I’ve spent a lot of hours doing this story, with research, lore and myths, so any and all feedback is very much appreciated!
Remember, I always say yes to requests, and feedback feeds the writer!

Chapter 14 Understanding pt. 2
October
The boys ran into the war-room, guns already drawn; I guess the tone of my voice had given away, that something wasn’t as it was supposed to be, and they had assumed the worst. Sam had stilled the moment he laid eyes on the goddess, gun pointed straight at her face, and a weird look on his face – Dean, on the other hand, had spotted her spear before her, and he had almost flung himself at her to protect me; I had managed to stop him (with impressive power, I might add) and sit him down in a chair.
He was huffing and puffing, his eyes shooting daggers at the goddess in front of him; he certainly wasn’t affected by her looks, but Sam was – he was still in the door, the gun trained on her face in his outstretched hand (which had started to shake), and his mouth was open. I sighed and rolled my eyes, before I got up from my chair, grabbed his arm and led his tall frame to the table, and down in a chair on the opposite side of Freyja. She sat at the end of the table, me and Dean on her left and Sam on her right; we looked like a bizarre gathering for trick-and-treaters. I decided to break the silence.
“Guys, meet Freyja.” Dean grunted in acknowledgment, but didn’t say anything further. I rolled my eyes at him and smacked his knee. He was being a rude dick-bag, and he knew it, because he looked me in the eyes with a seriously, Y/N? look radiating from his body, before he plastered a fake smile on his face and grumbled something resembling a hello. Sam was still staring at her with wide eyes, and I kicked his shin under the table. He winced in pain, but finally opened his mouth. “You’re so pretty.” His hand flew instantly to his mouth in horror, and I groaned – of fucking course, Sam goddamn Winchester, the man who can’t be moved by hot females in his vicinity, would be awestruck by the goddess. She smiled sweetly at him and her eyes flickered to Dean, who had put a hand protectively on my shoulder, as if he was ready to lead me out of the room in a flash, if things went south. She turned back to Sam, her eyes twinkling. “And you are the truest specimen of a perfect warrior, Sam Winchester.” Dean growled under his breath, and she turned to him, a smile still on her face. “Hush, child, I am not here to hurt any of you. You can relax. Don’t you think she would have tried her best to send me back to Fólkvangr, if I had any intention of hurting you?” She said with a slight nod to me. Dean relaxed a bit, slumping slightly back into his chair. “Although, I must admit, your brother is positively mouthwatering.” She said – and she winked at Sam, who blushed furiously. “Then why the hell are you here?” She looked at me expectantly. And so, I retold everything she had told me, and what I knew from my research to Dean – his eyes were huge, as I told him what I knew, and Sam had been pulled away from staring at Freyja, to actually try to keep track of the conversation. “So, that’s that. I mean, at least I know why I am Valkyrie, but not really the reasoning behind it.” I turned to Freyja, who was eying Sam with a great interest. I rolled my eyes – one thing is Sam being enamored with her, but her being enamored with Sam? That was too much. “So, why did you exactly? Turn me into a Valkyrie?” I asked. Freyja cocked her head slightly to the side and her gaze fell on Dean. “You are a perfect bond, you know. I have never met anyone as fiercely protective of their warrior as you are, Dean Winchester.” She said with a sense of wonder. He cocked an eyebrow at her. “What does that mean?” She smiled. “Not to worry, dear. I am simply stating, that you and Y/N will follow each other in every battle, every win and loss. One day, you will follow her to my valley of Fólkvangr., and it will be a wonderful sight to behold.” I blushed slightly at her words – I loved Dean with every fiber of my being, but it sounded so cheesy when she put it look that. “Fuck yes, I will.” He simply said and kissed my shoulder. “Stop diverting the question.” He grumbled.
Freyja sighed and stood up, dragging the hard wood of her spear against the floors, her hips swaying slightly as she moved slowly around the war-room. Her hair shone brighter that before. “I believe you are all familiar with my... With Loki, correct?” Her lips were a tight line, and I furrowed my brows. “Uhm… Sorry, not much. We know some, but... We thought the Norse gods kept to themselves, of they even existed.” I said apologetically. She smiled sweetly at me, and walked past Sam, dragging a perfectly manicured finger over his shoulder and neck, before stopping. “Loki is… Problematic, to say.” She sighed and hurt flashed across her face for a brief second, before she kept telling her story. “He is a Jötunn, which is essentially the gods’ mortal enemies. He was fostered by Odin, and he was raised without the knowledge of his true inheritance. He found out, and a lot of his power derives from his hatred of himself, but that isn’t what matters.” She sighed again, her small hand resting gently on Sam’s shoulder – he looked stricken, and I could see how hard he tried not to move. I briefly wondered if she smelled different to all of us, reminding us of your favorite seasons or memories. She smiled sadly at me. “Loki is a trickster. Not like the one, you have dealt with, the Angel pretending to be something he was not, but the true trickster. He loves to wreak havoc at every opportunity he sees, and he has cause a wide array of disasters on earth.” She glanced at Dean, who was still protectively leaning halfway over me. “What does this have to do with anything?” He growled angrily. “Everything.” She sighed and sat down on the chair next to Sam, looking defeated and small despite her empowering stature. “I love. I love humanity, men, women, deities and anything in between, as you must know. I am the goddess of love, after all.” She smiled, and a light lit up in her eyes for a brief second. “I loved Loki. All of the gods agreed it was best to just… Be. When the world forgot about us and made us to be myths and legends and tall tales, told around a campfire or in movies, we decided to fade. We can live perfectly in Asgard, and just look at things from above. Sometimes help a little, if the world goes to black, but other than that, we didn’t mind fading out. Everything ends. Loki thought differently. He was angered by the humans, by Midgard forgetting us so easily, and he wanted to remind them, that he had the power to turn the world around. I made him think differently.” She sighed deeply. “I did really love Loki, for a while. We… We were lovers. He worshipped the ground beneath my feet, but I am a being of many lusts and loves, so I moved towards Heimdahl, when he declared himself for me, baring his soul. I couldn’t say no to that.” She looked a little smug, but I furrowed my brows; Jesus Christ, she really did live up to her name. “Loki could not accept the truth. He would accept my love for Heimdahl, and his anger boiled over into rage. He almost had his… Mutt.” Her eyes shot lightnings. “chase me for a while, but he decided that he needed something better.”
She stood up abruptly and paced the floor, throwing her hands up – the spear dangerously close to the lamp, and she sobbed lightly. “He wanted revenge, can you believe it? I am with him for three centuries, and he thinks he can just…” She sighed deeply and collected herself. “He wanted revenge. Not just on me, but humanity for forgetting him. For forgetting all of us. He knows my love for Midgard, and your love and unabridged love-affairs, so he did the worst thing I could think of.” I caught her eye, and I knew where this would lead – a memory of a page I couldn’t translate, written in runes and seals, that had been long lost. “He opened the box, didn’t he?” I whispered. Freyja looked at me, her eyes shining with unshed tears, and nodded. Dean looked confused. “What box?” I sighed and turned to him; Sam had been lost to Freyja, as he tried to comfort her gently, his big hands patting her back, while she whimpered and cried. “Solomon’s box, Dean. The demon-box. If I’m not wrong, he probably created it, didn’t he?” Freyja nodded slowly. Dean shot up, his body shaking as he looked to make up his mind: run far away with me, or stay and fight, not just un-killable demons but a goddamn fucking GOD as well. “Dean. Please.” I begged him, but he didn’t sit down, he just started pacing the room. “Is that why you needed me? You can’t do it yourself, can you? You love him too much.” I asked with a shaking voice. Freyja met my eyes. “I am afraid so. I didn’t have a choice, Y/N, you must know that. But he has to be stopped. His ways will leave the earth barren, the demons can and will destroy anything they touch. Loki has not yet learned to handle anger well.” She sighed.
A whirlwind of thoughts went through my head at lightening speed. I tried to categorize every thought, but it was impossible; we had to kill a god, known for being a trickster and throwing twists and turns in every direction, for another god, because she loves him – which poses a whole new slew of problems. We had to kill him to kill the demons. We didn’t know how to kill the demons. We didn’t have… “Wait. Wait, Dean.” I grabbed his arm harshly – he winced, and I internally groaned; I still had a hard time figuring out my new-found strength. I stood up, feeling elated and like something was finally working in our favor. “The demons. We didn’t think we could kill them, but I did. I killed two of the demons at the mansion, Dean.” I put emphasis on my words, be he looked confused as ever – I heard Sam gasp behind me, and a chair scraping against the floor. “What? Come on, I feel stupid now!” He whined, as Sam pointed at me, a smile spreading on his face. “My sword. My power. Dean, I can kill them! We don’t need Berith’s rib!” I grinned at him – and finally, he understood. We weren’t going on a suicide-mission, but a war.
He swooped me into his arms, laughing as he spun me around and kissed me hungrily. “Fucking warrior queen.” He said happily. I grinned back at him, and shifted in his arms, so I could see Freyja. She stood and gazed at us, a glow in her eyes. “Will my sword kill Loki?” She smiled gently. “Nothing can kill him. But your sword can send him back to Asgard, where we will hold a trial for him. It won’t be the first time.” She said slowly. I nodded. “I see you have all you need, my warrior. You will do wonderfully, I am sure.” Freyja moved towards Sam and placed her hands around his neck. “I will return. I promise.” I didn’t know if she was promising me or Sam, but she placed a kiss on his cheek before she was gone – a slight warp in the air, where she had just been. Sam rubbed his cheek with a dazed expression, his mouth agape in shock. Dean laughed heartily at him, before turning back to me.
“What now?” He asked, his voice finally giving away to show something, I had never expected from him; he saw me as his leader. “Now? We find a god and kill him.” I grinned and leaned closer to him. “But first… I think we should have a little moment to ourselves if the world is about to end.” I whispered. I could feel his smile. “Fuck yes.”

Made in Abyss
youtube
Follow the young explorer Riko and her new friend Reg as they journey into the mysterious Abyss, determined to find Riko’s long-lost mother who never returned from her own expedition. Join the headstrong duo as they navigate mystical creatures, ancient weapons, and other challenges in this heart-warming and awe-inspiring adventure.

Beyond the Boundary
Yes, this is that one show that has the girl with the glasses and red sword!

As the unlikely duo grow closer and closer, they must prepare to face a supernatural threat more powerful than anything either of them has seen before.
This adaptation of the light novel by Nagomu Torii effortlessly melds the grit of dark fantasy with the charm of slice of life, all wrapped together by beautifully animated action sequences. The best part? Beyond the Boundary's 12-episode length makes it an easy watch while on the road.
The Rolling Girls
youtube
Immerse yourself in near-future Japan where the country has split up into 10 competing independent city-states after the apocalyptic “Great Tokyo War.” Each region is led by a “Best,” or a person with superhuman powers that represents the nation in various disputes. Those that work to support them are the “Rest.”
When Nozomi, a Rest, decides to travel the country to take on the duties of her nation’s injured Best, her childhood friend, she and the new friends she’s made along the way embark on a journey full of twists and turns.
Wit Studio knocks it out of the park with strikingly vivid colors, in-your-face animation, and an electrifying ‘90s punk rock-inspired soundtrack. If you’re looking for something a little different and have four or so hours to kill, you’re bound to have a good time with The Rolling Girls.
Shin Sekai Yori (From the New World)
Based on the award-winning novel by Yusuke Kishi, Shin Sekai Yori follows 12-year-old Saki Watanabe in her coming-of-age story. Saki has just awakened to her latent psychic powers and sets out to join her friends at the Sage Academy, a school for fellow psychics. All is not as it seems, however, as Saki and her friends come to discover the dark secrets of their supposed utopia.
Shin Sekai Yori uses its unique art style and characters to tell an ambitious and thought-provoking tale of adolescence, moral conflict, and political secrecy. It’s the first two-cour show on the list, making it a longer watch while on the road, but trust us when we say it’s worth it.
Rent-a-Girlfriend
youtube
If you were missing the messiness, drama, and feeling of secondhand embarrassment of early 2000’s harem anime, Rent-a-Girlfriend is exactly what you’ve been looking for.
As the name implies, when college student Kazuya Kinoshita is suddenly dumped by his girlfriend, he hires a rental girlfriend named Chizuru Mizuhara to cope. When a concerning call about Kazuya’s grandmother’s health moves their date to the hospital, what they find out next makes their fake relationship more complicated than either of them could’ve ever expected.
Arakawa Under the Bridge
youtube
Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: the son of a wealthy businessman, a Venusian, a nun, a kappa, and a set of runaway twins with psychic powers walk under a bridge ...
Arakawa Under the Bridge is a hilarious showcase of chaotic characters and witty humor. It follows Kou Ichinomiya, the son of a wealthy businessman, whose core values are challenged when he finds himself indebted to a homeless stranger whose only request in exchange for saving his life is to become her boyfriend.
This wacky feel-good comedy is so addictive, you won’t bat an eye when frequent stops and looming traffic backups add time to a long drive!

I ask again that you not share the Tumblr with MVJ as he uses all knowledge of me against me or to imitate / try to be me rather than MVJ. I ask the same w/r/t MJ / Michael, as he resents me for various reasons to do with manipulation-leadership (such as telling him in '09 that I felt that I was going to be a doctor someday in order to hearten / give him morale when he was anguished over job-searching in the Great Recession). I do things like this because of a film called "Late Spring" a masterpiece by the Japanese director who inspired the Taiwanese auteur about whom I wrote my RU senior thesis and met Rebecca Hu who inspired me to work hard, get that Singapore job, meet Kate again in '07 in NYC, promise her in '08 I would struggle / fight / work for 3 years to become someone deserving of her (hand in marriage if not just friendship), which is also part of why I made that '08-09 deal with Dad that culminated in me going to MTTP in Madison, meeting Chi Hye, falling in love with this gold light in her eyes, believing in angels and mountains and "They shall mount up as eagles and not stub their toe" (Isaiah), meeting Josephine Park at 7-Step and everyone else, getting promoted to Head Developer in 6 months, then quitting b/c of a falling out I had on that night I called you after 6 months' radio silence. IDK if you want to hear this but I wanted to marry Josephine / "LitGirl." I thanked her for helping me. IDK if you care about this she flirted with me partly by showing armpit-stubble in the summer of 2010 and I understood this because I understand "Korean American literature." She might be the most beautiful perfect ideal "jeongdakhan" (kind of 'suitable,,' or, 'spec') woman I ever met. She went to Seoul National U. which is Korea's no.1 university and worked for an elite newspaper before taking some time off to write - she loves Emily Dickinson and, I believe, Park Wanseo, who wrote my favorite Korean short story "That Girl's House" about a promised couple in Japanese-occupied Korea who are separated by the girl's father's paranoia about Gop Dan's becoming a comfort woman and sold to be a farmer's bride in what becomes North Korea rather than marrying the "village prince" or aspiring scholar, who wants her to come away with him to Seoul... Josephine or "Jeongeun" (which kind of means perhaps "emotion-grace" or arguably "central grace" - Josephine means "love will increase" BTW and is the name of Jo from Little Women; the name she chose for herself) looks a bit like Lee Yowon the aspiring girl who gets plastic surgery in "Take Care of My Cat" and a bit like Seo Juhyun / Catherine Seo / Seohyun the youngest member of Girls Generation who was known for her probity, "Holy Seohyun" who was no. 2 in her HS before becoming the "maknae" or "final inner" / youngest and most beloved member of the nation's best-ever girl-group. FWIW, I used to write to Seohyun on Twitter as well but she never replied. On around the time of the sinking of the MV Sewol she wrote "we cried till our eyes dried" or so and used the word "huisaeng" to describe the victims which actually can mean "sacrifice." I wrote to Seohyun using a quote from Dante Alighieri about beauty and pure thoughts or pure minds since I read "New Life / Vita Nuova" and "Heaven / Paradiso" in KR. "Catherine" incidentally means "purity" as well. 2. On that night I first called you in 2011 I was out at a place with JEP and when I got back from our long phonecall she proceeded to get really drunk with foreigners I disliked from a hagwon I dislike throwing back soju and ultimately writing on the ladies' room floor throwing up. Danny Shin asked me to go in to the BR to comfort / talk with her so I did. I told her we should leave even before she got really drunk but she wouldn't obey me. KJ Park arrived and said "ireona" (get up bitch) and she did. I cursed in front of KJ Park since I felt I was being used as her crying-blankie and exploited to help her cope but never extricate from the situation. I later had a slight heart-attack when I found out they were having an affair even as JE flirted with other men and used them I see now as "honey-trap" and to spy on all the employees. I feel like this is the last time I will try to communicate open with you about why I am the way I am why I do what I do. Back in 2008 you told me to use more kindness but where does that go? It's good for little kids. Anyway before my heart-attack on that night - which impelled me to stop participating for a while in good faith with 7-Step's accelerated curriculum program working on Saturdays (which I had done happily before that) - I had been incredibly optimistic and at the same time "wise" in the "soi sage" sense reading Flaubert's last completed novel, which you might like one day, "L'Education Sentimentale" (accurately translated as "Emotional Education" since "Sentiment" sounds Victorian and sentimentality is an Anglo or Anglo-Korean category, saccharine in a way which French love and emotion are not). I also later visited Cheonan her hometown which means "Heaven's Peace." I walked around and years later wanted to write a novel called "Cheonan Sky" which is about the sinking of a ROKN frigate / destroyer / corvette called the ROKS Cheonan in 2010 but a North Korean suicide micro-submarine. The captain of the ROKS Cheonan never retired basically but became a military analyst for I believe either KJAD or 38North out of entailments or legacy-obligations to his men. The theme of "Cheonan Sky" is family killing family (the Korean War / civil war in general within a nation), terrorism, capital punishment by electrocution. The ending is that the hero committed acts of 1st degree murder and terrorism and is dressed by his wife for execution after donating semen / sperm so she can have a child after his death. You might or might not be interested to know but "Cheonan" in Chinese characters is I believe "Tian'an'" like Tiananmen Square. When I asked Josephine to teach me some Korean she said "Miryang" which means "secret sunshine" that is actually the name of a city as well a movie but known for the gang-rape of an elementary school girl. 3. This is kind of why I'm interested in terrorism, assassination, North Korean Studies, and also why I didn't know how to read people's sign about "covering love," concealing or forgiving crimes et cetera; covering sins. I associate JEP for some reason with Russian blues and mother-of-pearl since I looked at a wedding ring which was mother-of-pearl and diamond in 2011. In retrospect I have no idea whether she was interested in me or not or how willing she would have been to partner with me as opposed to KJ or Danny Shin or anyone else. I won't say anything more because I don't oppose women being that way 100% although the Book of Proverbs does say not to prostitute your daughter and a British Victorian Evangelical PM used to walk the streets of London pleading with hookers to get honest if low-paying jobs (WE Gladstone who also said politics succeeds ultimately through "not love of power but power of love" a saying I associate these days with Mike Pompeo) I have come close to imprisonment and/or death lately from trying to be open w/ people in America so this is literally I ardently wish my last freebie w/r/t "teaching" people but the existence of people like Josephine also seems to bind me to SK or KR. There is simply no way I can not go back someday. When that ferry sank I saw an article about a foreigner graveyard in Incheon and felt what Shakespeare felt near the end of his life which was a desire beyond or parallel to after life to donate his bones to a certain plot of land. I foolishly or heedlessly confessed this reality to Mi who became depressed and my words started to go over his head. IDK if you want to know this but I worked for a long time on a novel about the MV Sewol called "Flowers on Water" or "Flowers 1881" which is about the sovereignty of God in the deaths or waste of children as well as "It Is Well with My Soul," Chancellor / Pastor John Piper, the drowning of paedophiles in prison or others who abuse or exploit young people, and my own responsibility for failing as an HS teacher. IDK if you remember but the guy who owned the MV Sewol which sank due to unlawful loading of the hull with equipment was found decapitated with a backpack full of money in a field of maize, I believe. There are those who believe including me that KR is not really a democracy but run by the KCIA or and/or through an organization called "One Company" or so that includes numerous military dictators, officers, many of whom used to be teachers though some were also associated with the terrorist-student radical organization (the ShiShi) that produced the Meiji Restoration and the Empire of Japan -> WW2 Pacific since the Japanese were determined not to let American "gunboat diplomacy" lead to cultural genocide or everlasting hegemony of the West over either JP or the total Far East. My last thing to you is just that there are those who believe the imperial family of JP who were restored to supremacy in gov't by the ShiShi after centuries of formalistic ritualitsic formalistic ceremonial "Chinese" rule are partly Korean in blood and Koreans themselves believe in "Minjung Theology" saying Koreans have a holy destiny worldwide which is something I believe as well. You can be 10,000% honest with me about your intentions from now on BTW. IDK if I can get back to KR now, a year from now, or in a coffin. It depends on money I guess. As I reflected in my previous e-mail after my born again prayer in 2004 when I wished for unity (in the field across the street from Marshall School) I eventually got that unity around 2012 when Dad said he would work sacrificially to fix me up following my suicide-attempt and in 2013 when I told Jaeyoung that I wanted to be a principal I precipitated or incubated a process leading up to the Lead Teacher position I was offered a few months back as well as Concordia's interest in my application for their Educational Leadership doctorate. If you want to read one more book by a Korean I urge "The Fourth Dimension" by Rev. Dr. David YongGi Cho, the pastor of a church called Yoido or Yeouido Full Gospel which claims some 500,000 members though Dr. Cho has been indicted for embezzlement and there are those who would doubt his belief in miracle faith-healing or in God's defending people from things like head-first suicide-attempts. As my student once said to me, "Thank you for everything" DJJ PS again if you like music I rec. "Marvel Not That Christ in Glory" - "Christ in p/POWER Resurrection / calling many sons to glory" - as well as a pop-song called "Please Remember Me" by a girl-group known as Year 7 Class 1 or 7-1. It is a slow ballad but the central refrain is "yaksokhae uri... kkok mannayo..." (Let us promise to meet again rapidly / immediately)...

The State of Sound 2018
Welcome to a new experimental annual segment I like to call The State of Sound. This is going to be a yearly status update on toku-related tunes that are available legally to the public.
My hopes are that with enough support by giving yearly updates and filling the music industry’s coffers with cash, Tokusatsu music will be readily and permanently available to all who want it on iTunes, Amazon Music, etc.
Let’s not waste any time and get started!
SUPER SENTAI:
Has suffered a severe blow. See, Nippon Columbia has removed all of the 35th Anniversary soundtrack volumes from iTunes! It is annoying how we went from having 35 seasons worth of great theme songs and endings to nothing in just a blink of an eye, I regret not buying the entire set when it was available. Though you still can get a few scant songs on live performance albums from their original artists.
CD Japan or Play Asia is your best bet and struggle, as now you have to get the songs on your cell phone/mp3/computer the hard way by buying expensive CDs and ripping them into a playable format while bypassing region locking.
Kamen Rider:
Kamen Rider is lurking about a bit if you search hard enough, as its digital music has a bit more to offer. Oddly, the official site for iTunes has more songs in the library than iTunes desktop...and you cannot buy them. Avex held a ban on selling their music online to “combat piracy”, which apparently failed as now they are posting their latest Rider song online. Switch ON!, Surprise Drive, Life is Showtime, Nobody’s Perfect and many more are region locked on iTunes to specific countries.
The most infuriating one is EXCITE, millions of views on the official Avex Youtube channel and it isn’t available in the US (Though admin Digifiend can get his copy of the TV size version on iTunes as he lives in the UK, so you Britons can jam away!)
But with Be The One getting an official US release, hope springs eternal we will rock out to all our fave Rider jams! Til then, CD Japan and other stores and rip what you like onto your device. Or try Spotify, a few albums there you can listen to.
List of available official tunes:

Kamen Rider Girls: Roughly 75-90% of their entire song library
Kamen Rider Generations Final BUILD&EXAID with Legend Rider Original Sound Tracks is on iTunes, so you can get them snappy short orchestral bits that play when your favorite Riders are about to transform!
Kamen Rider Amazons: Armour Zone album (Full Armour Zone theme locked) Available on Amazon (duh!) and iTunes
Samurai Strong Style from Movie War Megamax
GARO
God bless ya Jam Project! This franchise is where digital scarcity is not too much of an issue, though you do have to do some album sifting to find them. There are still a chunk of entries missing such as the iconic SAVIOR IN THE DARK, but its better than nothing!
Garo songs on the Best Collection XII: B.B., Garo is HERE!, My Name is Garo, Guren no Tsuki
Garo song on Area Z album: Yaiba~ The Divine Blade
Zero: Dragon Blood: Dragonflame single album
Garo: Kami no Kiba: Fang of the Apocalypse
Zero Black Blood: S#0 by Dustz (On Spotify, Shazam! and iTunes)
Metal Heroes
High quality versions of the Space Sheriff opening themes are on one album called Kussy Damashii. It gets spotty from there.
Gavan, Sharivan and Shaider, are on the Damashii album.
Tokusou Exceeddraft and Winspector are on ITunes in live and remastered 21st century editions.
Some of the rest are available on the 2001 live performance album, Super Hero Spirits Tour Live.
Tomica Hero
Sadly, no Ryukendo themes or Burning Hero! by Rey.
Rescue Force
STORY and The Life by Camino
Kokoro Hakabu by Triplane
Rescue Fire:
Bakuchin Kanryou! Rescue Fire by Jam Project
Ultraman:
Just one, Ultraman the Rocks on iTunes and Spotify.
Kinda shocked there isn’t more on western e-music services but feel free to reblog if you find any.
Other Toku related music
Cutie Honey Tears EP
Shin Godzilla Soundtrack
Kaiju film soundtracks
Go! Go! Kikaider (Reboot ver.)
Niji wo Matsuhito from the Gatchaman live action movie by Bump of Chicken
So we are in okay shape on the digital front, but there is much improvement that needs to be done. Let’s see what next year brings and keep buying those tracks!
