Kate, her wife and their "oops we adopted a kid" son, Eli

Inviting the 141 to her house was not her idea but Sarah is trying to get Eli used to people and Kate doesn't feel like having every one of Sarah's family members in their house right now.
Thanksgiving had gone alright. Kyle and Johnny had spent half of the night sitting on their living room floor and playing with Eli because he'd gotten new Transformer toys and the two men "wanted to get to know him". They wanted to play with Optimus Prime. Everyone knew it.
John had been surprisingly good with the boy, Eli had been shy with him but with both Kate and Sarah in the kitchen dealing with the food, he'd been forced to ask John for help with his cutlery. By the end of the night, Eli had disappeared into the kitchen and brought back a juice box for himself and one for John. The captain had looked far too honoured.
Kate had felt bad, of all of the men Eli just hadn't clicked with Simon. That was until Sarah, Johnny, Gaz and Simon had gotten into an argument over what kid's movie to put on. It had been for show to amuse Eli, pretend to argue and then let Eli pick the movie in the end. It had shocked everyone when Eli had picked Simon's choice, Flushed Away, and it had floored them when the five-year-old insisted on sitting next to Simon when they watched it.
All in all, it had been a success. All four of the men had enjoyed the food and entertaining the newest Laswell. At the end of the night, Kate and Sarah had gone off to bed with a tuckered-out little boy between them because he insisted he wanted to watch one last movie with his mommies and fell asleep before the title card.
And now it was Kate's birthday. She usually didn't care much for it but Sarah had been getting Eli excited and she couldn't resist his head tilt and puppy eyes when he asked if Mommy's friends were coming back over. She's a weak woman.
So now she has her wife, a five-year-old in Scooby-Doo pyjamas, three Englishmen, a Scot and a Russian pilot in her living room. God bless Nikolai for always gifting alcohol on birthdays because God, does Kate need it.
Eli had taken to Nikolai shockingly quickly so now the pilot was getting the rundown on all of the boy's Scooby-Doo figures and honestly, she'd never seen Nikolai pay so much attention to anything in his life.
The lads had all gotten her gifts which was undeniably kind. Kyle had gotten her a shirt which she actually liked, saying that it was just a plain blue shirt but she appreciated it regardless. Johnny had gotten her a tartan wallet from a brand she knew was somewhat pricey back in Scotland, it was lovely colours and had just enough space that she could store the collection of post-it note drawings Eli had taken to giving her. Simon had gotten her a good quality knife, unsurprising. What did surprise her was the fact she had made one single comment about getting one under her breath after being dragged onto the field one day, never mentioning it in front of anyone. John had settled on a blanket which he probably actually put thought into for once and she would thank him for the pack of cigs he slipped between the folded fabric when her wife wasn't around.
Sarah had wanted to do a fancy dinner, but Kate had told her just to order takeout from their local Chinese place. So, now her living room was full of takeout containers and everyone was eating something different. She'd pretend she hadn't watched Nikolai pay for all of the food at the door.
She and Sarah were content to eat as they watched the five men let Eli try different things from their plate. The boy had a little plate of his own that had different sections to ensure none of the foods touched and he had a little bit of everything on it. Their living room was large enough to squeeze everyone in and on their own seat but Eli had parked himself between John and Nikolai, eventually sitting somehow on both of their knees as they ate their food at the most awkward angle possible to avoid jostling the little boy.
"What do you think, Eli? Who's food do you like the best?" Gaz asks her son. The men had made it into a competition amongst themselves much to the surprise of absolutely no one.
Eli takes a second to answer, poking at the food on his plate with his little Tigger fork. He looks up and his eyes fall straight on Kate's as he points at her. "Mommy's."
Kate offers him a smile in response and holds her plate out. "You want more rice? Or are you gonna pick at the other things on your plate, buddy?"
He doesn't answer verbally, he just taps his fork off of his plate before he starts eating some of Kyle's noodles again. He was good with trying new foods but at the end of the day, he'd always fall back on what he knew. And what he knew was sitting on Kate's lap when she'd eat a forkful and then feed him one. She liked to baby her son, sue her.
"Why doesn't that surprise me?" She hears Simon mutter under his breath sounding positively amused.
Sarah offers her a light nudge with an exaggerated look of hurt. "I'm a little offended that it's never me."
She rolls her eyes with a fond look. "Everything you eat is too spicy. He's five, mint ice cream is too spicy for kids that age."
"Not true, he eats that chicken you make and it's spicy."
"Oh, there's a simple answer for that."
"And that would be?"
"He likes me better."
"Bitch."
"Bitch."
For a brief moment, the room stays silent as they all stare at the five-year-old in shock.
Nik looks positively gleeful.
John is making that stupid face where he's obviously trying not to laugh.
Simon's face is characteristically blank but the subtle shake of his shoulders gives him away.
Kyle is biting his lip and staring at the floor.
Johnny is just hiding his face in Kyle's shoulder.
Kate thinks she should probably be outraged, scold her wife for using such language around the little boy and teach Eli that bitch is a Mommy word.
That thought is short-lived when she throws her head back with a cackle, covering her face with her hand as she hears everyone else starts to break.

Part 1
---
Joel knocked on your door one Friday night about two weeks after you first moved in, quite aggressively, too, you thought. You opened the door, still in the clothes you were wearing to campus, a box of Chinese in your hand. He held up a cheque that you had slipped under his door on your way up. You had finally gotten your bank account sorted and got your first weekly pay as Frankâs RA, so you wrote a cheque as first payment for the medical bill he paid for you. You had budgeted it properly. If you clocked in eight hours a day for work and paid him half your weekly pay every Friday, you would finish paying him in four months. You could still do your dissertation work after that and on the weekends.
Damn he looked good. He was all dressed up. His usual t shirt swapped with a flannel, his usual light jeans swapped for a darker pair that looked newer, his hair styled a bit and combed neatly, and was he wearing cologne? You couldnât help the smile that came to your face. You leaned against the door and joked,
âWow Miller, you look good. Hot date?â
He flushed, slightly, but ignored your question. âWhat the hell is this?â he asked instead, waving the cheque in your face.
âItâs a cheque,â you answered, âYou cash it at the bank for money.â
âIâm aware miss Smarty Pants, but what is it for?â
âWell⊠I have to start paying you back. For the hospital bill.â
âDid I ask you to pay me back?â
âNo⊠but I got my first pay today, so Iâm paying you back.â
He took a deep, controlled breath and tore the cheque before depositing it in the trash can beside your door, telling you to keep your money.
âHey! What was that for?â you asked, a little bit annoyed.
âKeep it. For the baby. Donât even think of paying me back.â
âJoel⊠I canâtâŠâ but he held his hand up.
âNot taking no for an answer. I said keep it,â and walked away.
You went to the window in the corridor, watching him get in his truck and drive away. You didnât know why, but you felt a bit deflated. Was it because he refused to accept your money? Or because you didnât see him as often as you thought you would? After he went with the group to talk to Max, he came to your place once to fix your window, but Maria was there so you two didnât talk much. You didnât see him around much after that, you only got home after itâs dark, and left early in the mornings. You needed to, to fit in the eight working hours and still get a few hours of work done on your doctorate. He lived right below you, and yet you never saw him. And now, the first time you saw him in ten-ish days, he was dressed up, smelling so good and looking so delicious you could eat him alive. You heaved a sigh you didnât know you needed to release. It had to have been a date, right? Men looking like Joel Miller do not sit around at home on Friday nights. They go out for single, non-pregnant ladies to flock around and swoon over.
You went back inside when his truck drove out of sight. He wonât take your cheque. Fine, youâll just write him another one. You finished eating and got your laptop out. Time to do some work.
You woke up just after dawn broke that Saturday, your neck stiff from doing your work hunched over the coffee table. You needed to buy a proper desk if you were going to do your work at home, but thatâs a bit beyond your budget right now. So, you quickly showered and left for the campus, your laptop bag on your shoulders, your trusted sling bag crossed over your body, a piece of plain toast in your hand for your breakfast. Joelâs truck wasnât where it usually was. Of course he didnât come home. Men looking like Joel Miller do not come straight home after a date, what stupid self-controlled women would let men looking like Joel Miller go home after a date? Your feet suddenly felt a bit heavy, trudging along to begin your few miles hike to campus. Your apartment was just outside the compound, but the campus was huge. You stayed in your study room all day, eating ramen and an apple for lunch. When you got home after sundown, his truck was still not there.
For the first time in years, you had no one to wait for. No one to call and check if theyâre okay, or if theyâre coming home for dinner. No one to wake up to when they come home late. Itâs just you now. Itâs only been two weeks, you thought. This was normal. You needed time to adjust to being alone again. You had ramen again that night, knowing that you probably needed to eat healthier stuff, but you didnât have the energy to cook, not that you had anything to cook in your small kitchen. You had been surviving on cafeteria food and takeout, and whatever bits of groceries you could buy from the small store on campus. You thought about going to the farmerâs market the next day, but the thought just made you tired. You were simply not ready.
You decided to go to campus again that Sunday. If you were going to graduate on time, you needed to get your act together. You didnât have time to mourn your relationship with a man who left you as if you hadnât been supporting his hopes and dreams for the past ten years, you had your own future to think about. One where you would be a single mother, so you needed to complete this dissertation as fast as you could, while working as much as you could, so that you can make enough money to prepare for the babyâs arrival, and get a reliable, full-time job to support them and give them anything they needed growing up.
When you left for campus that Sunday morning, Joel was still not home, not that you were checking, or knocking on his door while you were slipping a newly written cheque under his door. But his truck was not out front, not that you were looking for it. You spent the entirety of your walk to campus wondering why you cared. Was it because he looked out for you even before he knew you? It had to be, no way you felt a certain way about him, right? If you did, and that was a big IF, it must be because you were feeling vulnerable. You couldnât really be catching feelings for some man you just met two days after you got dumped, right? Plus, even IF you were indeed feeling that way, the man couldnât possibly be available. He was out the whole weekend â he must have a girlfriend or something. One that he spends his weekends with. Yeah. Thatâs it. Thatâs where he was. So, get him out of your head, you pathetic, dumped, single pregnant lady. No need to imprint on the first man who was nice to you.
When you left for work on Monday, his truck was finally back. He mustâve come back late Sunday night; it wasnât there when you arrived after spending more than 12 hours on campus. You felt great that day. No nausea at all, for some reason. Maria stayed with you after work for dinner, but you declined her offer to drive you home, thinking that you should get some more work done while you were feeling great. You promised her you would get an Uber to go home. But of course, you didnât. You could walk the distance. You need exercise anyway. When you got home, Joel was standing outside the apartment building, his arms crossed across his chest.
âDid you just get back?â he asked. His eyes scanned the road. âDid you walk?â
âErm⊠no⊠I went out for groceries. I took an Uber.â
âYou donât have any groceries with you, and I literally just saw you walk down the street.â
âWhat were you doing out here at this time?â
âI was taking the trash out, throwing some cheque someone kept writing for me when I specifically told her not to. Also, I am perfectly safe within the vicinity of my apartment, and not walking alone and pregnant in the dark,â he said.
âJoel, you have to take the money okay. Please cash my cheque. I canât be relying on you like this,â you pleaded, ignoring his other statement.
âHave you been walking home alone at night all this while?â and⊠he ignored you right back.
âNo.â
He raised an eyebrow at you, opening the door for you to get in. He walked you up and shut the door behind you when you walked into the safety of your apartment without saying another word.
The next day, after work, you were planning to go up to the study, when a wave of nausea hit you out of nowhere. Maria, concerned, offered to drive you home. But you told her that you couldnât â the nausea will go away, you hadnât been hit with it full on yet, so far. You had to use the study, you said. The coffee table was too low, and the kitchen counter was too high and too narrow for you to do your work comfortably. Okay, she said, letâs go to Ikea then, get you a proper study table. You kept quiet and shook your head, no. You paid for the study room; you are going to use it. You didnât need to worry your best friend with your financial woes. Sure, the small settlement Max gave you had helped ease the burden off a few things, but you didnât see why you needed to spend money you could save for the baby on a desk you didnât really need, when you had the option of using the one at the room you paid for. So, you went upstairs, had a little nap in your chair, and did your work for a few hours, Maria having left only after you promised her you would Uber home if you felt too ill.
When you got to the apartment compound, your ridiculously good-looking landlord was right where he was the night before.
âTaking the trash out again Miller?â you asked playfully.
âYou definitely walked,â he said. âItâs fucking far. Itâs not safe,â he said.
You just rolled your eyes at him. âIâm a big girl Miller. Gonna be a mom soon, I can take care of myself.â
He rolled his eyes right back at you, silently opening the door, again, walking you up before shutting it closed behind you.
You were not at all okay on Wednesday, Frank telling Maria to drive you straight home after work, despite your many protests. She ordered food for the both of you, and you fell asleep before she even left. You had to take Thursday off, nausea hitting you full blast it woke you up. You spent the day in bed, falling in and out of sleep, running back and forth to the bathroom to empty your empty stomach further. Around lunchtime, a knock sounded at your door. You were too out of it to even get up to open it, and decided to ignore whoever it may be.
âI have a key, you know. So, you either open up, or I will open it myself,â your landlordâs voice came through.
Shit. You look around your small apartment, the full trash cans, the clothes from last night all over the place, your bags, your laptop, your plates⊠Shit.
âI can hear you moving around. You have one minute to open the door, or Iâm coming in,â he warned.
Shit. You took the three steps from your bed to the door and opened it a smidge.
âHi Joel.â
There he was, you handsome landlord, arms full of takeout bags and groceries.
âWhatâs all this?â
âA little bird told me you were too sick to work today, and that your place is woefully devoid of food. So, here I am.â
You were going to kill Maria. Tattle tale.
âYouâre going to let me in?â he asked. âI promise Iâm not a creep. Just trying to put my brotherâs girl at ease. Sheâs going to kill me if I donât help you out. So will my Mama.â
You took a deep breath and opened the door wider for him, cringing on the inside at how messy your place was. But he just shut the door with his elbow, made his way to the small kitchen before plating up some food for you, placed it in front of you at the coffee table, and told you firmly to eat. As you did, he moved about the small unit, picking this and that up, washing the dishes in the kitchen that was so small it made him look gigantic, and stored all the groceries he brought away. You didnât even have the energy to protest, having used up all your energy to throw up all morning. You finished your food, placed the plate on the coffee table, pulled your feet up onto the loveseat and fell asleep, already feeling better than you did when he walked in.
You woke up about a few hours later in bed. How the hell did you get here? You couldâve sworn you fell asleep on the loveseat. You sat up and was immediately struck by the wonderful smell of something simmering gently on the stove, and, oh my God your apartment was spotless. All the mess you were worried about when Joel knocked were gone.
Shit. Joel. Did Joel clean up while you were sleeping? Your dirty laundry was gone... did he pick up your dirty underwear too? Oh⊠the horror.
The door unlocked, and Maria and Frank walked in. Both smiling at you, asking you how you were feeling.
âHow did you get in? Where did you get my key?â
âRan into your very good-looking landlord downstairs. He gave me a copy,â Frank said, his eyes naughty. âMaria called him before we left. Didnât want to wake you if you were sleeping.â
Maria placed the key and her purse on your coffee table, looking around the place, her eyes lingering on the pot on the stove. âWell, I was going to cook you something, but I see Joel took care of that.â
Frank got a spoon and sampled a bit of whatever it was on the stove. âDamn, that man can cook! Heâs a good one darling. You should keep him,â he said, winking at you.
Maria snorted, while you just threw yourself face first onto the bed again. âHow are you feeling babe?â she asked, stroking your hair softly, your mumbled âbetterâ into the mattress making her smile.
Frank sat on the loveseat and told you to take the rest of the week off. No use coming to work when you can barely stand, he said. Work can wait. You kept quiet, deciding to not share your worries with him, or anyone, for that matter. He stayed for a few more minutes before leaving you and Maria alone, saying he will only see you on Monday, and only IF you were feeling better, his finger pointing at you as a warning that he was serious. There was no use protesting anyway, you could hardly get off the bed.
Maria laid in bed with you, you two watching some show on Netflix on her tablet as she waited for Tommy to pick her up. Her car was at the shop today, and she insisted on staying with you until Tommy came with dinner, wanting to make sure you eat well, at the very least. She had known you since you both started your PhD journey, and she knew how neglectful you can be about food when it came to yourself, often opting to eat whatever you could get your hands on rather than putting much effort, especially when you were feeling sick. She turned the stove off, taking the pot off the burner. She took out some disposable containers from the cabinet, and ladled the contents into them, before leaving them on the counter to cool. You just watched, feeling thankful that you would at least have something to reheat and eat the next few days, unsure if you had the energy to do anything much.
When Tommy arrived, Joel came in with him, a basket of cleaned and folded laundry in his hands, placing it on the floor next to the closet after softly nudging the door shut. The four of you ate dinner amidst mild chit chats and laughter, Joel sitting cross legged on the floor with Tommy, you and Maria on the love seat. Somehow, you felt extremely comfortable, despite not spending much time with Tommy before your breakup, and only knowing Joel for a couple of weeks. Conversation flowed smoothly, and when dinner was done, they helped you clean up, before leaving you for the night.
You hugged Tommy and Maria goodbye, and turned to Joel, who was the last to leave the unit.
âThank you, Joel. I donât think I can thank you enough. I am mortified you cleaned up if Iâm honest. Iâm not usually this messy. And you did my laundry too!! Oh God⊠Iâve just been⊠anyway, Iâm so sorry to be so much trouble. Thank you again Joel.â
âItâs no trouble. We all need some help from time to time. Like I said, Iâm just downstairs. If you need anything, Iâm right here. Okay?â he said, taking your hand in his for a bit, gently squeezing it, before quickly letting go.
You slept hard that night, your hand still feeling the ghost of his small touch earlier. So hard, you didnât wake up until noon on Friday. You spent the day doing some work, hoping to make some progress even if a little, despite not feeling so good. The nausea had lessened for now, thank God. But the lethargy lingered. Too tired to do anything. God, you were not even three months in yet.
You had some of the soup Joel had made for you for lunch, man oh man the man could cook. You were contemplating heating up another serving for dinner when he knocked on the door, with a bag of takeout in his hands, all dressed up, just as he was last Friday. He told you he would be out for the weekend, but he wonât be far away, so if you needed anything, just give him a call, and he will be right over, okay? He handed you the bag, the smell of Thai food invading your senses. You told him he didnât have to do this, you could order your own food, you feel better now, but he waved you away, and shut the door behind him, but not before reminding you to call him if you needed him.
You put the bag on the counter, and suddenly just felt⊠tired. You picked at the food he left you, feeling a different sort of nausea than you felt the days before.
You spent the entirety of the weekend at the study, putting in as much work as you can, so that you donât think about your landlord spending the weekend at his girlfriendâs, instead of with you.
Shit. Pregnancy had made you delusional, hadnât it?
---
WARNING - SOME MENTIONS OF BLOOD
You spent the next week avoiding Joel, spending more time at the study after work, walking home extremely late at night. Itâs not right, you thought. He had someone; you were sure of it. Why else would he spend weekends away? And here you are, a hormonal, recently dumped mess of a woman, looking at some lucky ladyâs boyfriend with heart eyes, all because he was a decent enough man to help you out every now and again. Itâs not right. Max left you for someone else, you were going to make sure you didnât contribute to another womanâs heart being broken if it was the last thing you did.
You found out from Maria that he and Tommy used to run a small but successful construction business, which went belly up when a developer for a big project that hired them ran off without paying them. Luckily, Joel had purchased the apartment complex with ten units to rent out before that happened, so they had a fallback income to rely on. Tommy helped out, managing the property, fixing this and that when needed, and eventually the two opened a small workshop, taking custom furniture orders. It started doing really well too, however, they had to cut back, a lot. They were no longer making the kind of money they were making when they had the construction business. Tommy was already living with Maria, but Joel had to sell his house and move into the complex, and thatâs when hisâŠ
At this, Maria shook her head and stopped talking. You were sure there was more to the story but decided that with your newfound determination to avoid the man, it was none of your business.
Not that the plan worked, he was always at the entrance every time you got home. When you got home later and later, he took a chair out, and whittled at some wood under the light of the doorway while waiting for you. You limited your interactions to small smiles and a hello, but he didnât falter. He would still walk you up, and closed the door behind you once you were in.
You went about your life for the next month or so, going to your appointment with Tess, working, fending off morning sickness, writing your dissertation, going home. And with the exception of his weekends away, Joel would be there waiting for you to get home safe. You wrote him a cheque for your medical bill every Friday, and every time, he would return them to you, or tear them up. Either way, no money was ever deducted from your account for that. Itâs exasperating. It was as if he was determined to make your life hell, if hell consisted of thirsting over your ridiculously good-looking and gentlemanly landlord who wouldnât take the money you owed him.
By the time your pregnancy hit four months, you were becoming more and more lethargic, falling asleep if you so much as sat still for a while. You were awoken one Thursday night at your study, a very worried looking Maria and Joel looking at you as if youâd died. He had gotten worried that you hadnât come home, called you numerous times, but your phone was on silent. So, he called Maria, who flew out of her apartment to check up on you. He drove you home that night, not saying anything, but walked you up as usual, closing the door behind you.
The next morning, he was waiting for you at his truck when you left for work. He opened the passenger door for you, silently asking you to get in. You hesitated, but he pointedly told you he would drive alongside you the whole way over if he needed to, so you got in. He buckled you up, and drove you over, not saying anything as usual. When you left the faculty building late that night, his truck was right there, him whittling away on a piece of wood at the entrance, sitting on a folded chair he had brought along with him, all dressed up as he normally would be on Friday nights.
To say you were stunned was an understatement. It was almost ten at night, what was he doing there? Had to make sure you made it home safe, he said. Canât have you falling asleep alone in that study again now, can we? You felt horrible. He was still obviously going to his girlfriendâs place, but he was delaying it to make sure you got home safe. You kept quiet during the short drive but stopped him before he got out of the truck to walk you up.
âJoel, you donât have to do this. I can take care of myself. I refuse to be in the way of your life. Someoneâs obviously waiting for you, Joel. How would they feel knowing you were late because you were picking up your pregnant tenant?â
He looked stunned for a little bit, but then smiled and said âwell, I know for a fact that sheâs proud of me.â
Huh???
âWhere do you think Iâve been every weekend?â
âEr⊠I donât know. Your girlfriendâs place?â
âI donât have a girlfriend.â
Oh. Fuck, why are you blushing? You canât see blushes in the dark, right?
âSo where do you go every weekend?â
âThese past few weekends? I take my mom out to dinner, and then spend the weekend with her. She lives alone, about 10 minutes from here. I usually only do that once a month, but she broke her foot a few weeks ago, so I went every weekend. Tommy joins too sometimes.â
Aww⊠shit. Good-looking, gentlemanly and kind to his mother. What the fuck were you going to do now?
---
That Sunday you decided to skip any form of work at all. You cleaned, ordered some groceries online and went downstairs to do your laundry. Your neighbours mostly consisted of single university students, usually much younger than you, with the exception of Mrs Adler, an older lady staying there while her house was being fixed due to fire damage. She was chatting you up while you were folding, when two younger tenants came in, girls in their early twenties, wearing next to nothing, showing off their perfect bodies. They were both expressing their disappointments that a certain older man was not around that day.
âAwww⊠looks like Iâm gonna need to break my shower on purposeâŠâ girl one said.
âNot if mine breaks first!!â girl two interrupted, before they both erupted in good natured laughter.
You couldnât blame them. He was a good-looking man. And if being in his mid-30s made him older then you were old too. Except, when a woman is in her mid-30s, sheâs old. When a man is in his mid-30s, heâs mature, at least according to the early twenties like these two. You couldnât help but stare at their exposed body parts, the young, cellulite free body parts with supple skin that you used to have over 10 years ago. Nowadays, whatever crash diets that worked like a charm in your early twenties no longer worked, and you being pregnant was not helping. Those bodies of theirs were but a dream of what you used to have and can never ever have again.
No wonder Max left you for a younger model. And what would Joel want with you if he had these two stalking his whereabouts wearing next to nothing?
âYou know dear, Joel is a very mature man. He wonât fall for those girls, no matter how hard they try. Joel is⊠sensible.â
You stared at Mrs Adler. Huh? Did you think out loud or something?
âIâve known that boy since he was two. His mama is a good friend of mine. Heâs a good man. He was raised right. And I know that he has been paying attention to you my dear,â she said with a twinkle in her eyes.
âOh, come on Mrs Adler, why would he want someone like me,â you pointed at your small baby bump, âinstead of those hot student bodies? Heâs just a man you know.â
âDarling, the way those girls talk about him, if he wanted them, he couldâve had them. All he had to do was ask. He doesnât. I think you should give him a chance.â
âHe has never asked me out or flirted with me, Mrs Adler. I think youâve been thinking too much,â you joked, laughing to hide your blushes.
âOh⊠I donât know⊠his mama told me he hasnât shut up about a certain tenant of hisâŠâ she said, winking at you. âOh honey, Iâm just messing with you,â she coaxed, seeing you blush. âBut that boy is shy dear, he is not one to flirt with you outright, if he does ask, give him a chance. God knows that boy deserves a good woman⊠after what heâd been throughâŠâ she shook her head sadly, before going to get her stuff from the dryer.
Okay, you need to know what it was that heâd been through now. Maybe youâll ask Maria.
---
That week, he dropped you off on campus every morning, and picked you up every night, Monday and Friday being the only exception. After the calamity that was the previous Friday night you made a point to leave by eight that Monday, worried that he might wait for you like he did then. But he wasnât there. Although relieved, there was a small part of you that felt a bit disappointed, but you brushed it off. After Max, you couldnât afford to fall for someone so quickly. Once bitten, twice shy. He was just your landlord, he was nice. He helped you out the way any decent man would. Thatâs all.
When you arrived at the apartment an hour later, he was just about to leave to get you. He looked a little disappointed that you were already there, but walked you up anyway, again, silently closing the door behind you. The next day, he made sure to ask you what time you plan on going back, and when you tried to protest he raised his eyebrows at you. So, you told him 9pm. You saw his truck in the parking lot by 830.
On Friday, Maria stayed back with you, both of you deciding to go to the library after work. You texted Joel telling him your plan, so that he could go to his motherâs without having to wait for you. To your shock, his truck was still there when Maria dropped you off. He was sitting at his usual spot in his t shirt and shorts, waiting for you. He stood up when you got there. Maria saw and hid a smile from you, but recovered by asking you if youâd like to go to the farmers market with her and Tommy the next day? Theyâll pick you up at eight.
Joel walked you up as usual. You asked him why heâs not at his momâs, and he just shrugged and said her foot was better, thank you for asking. Heâll see her over the weekend.
The next day, Joel was waiting for you in his truck, and not Maria. You two will meet them there, he said. The drive to the farmerâs market was quiet, but you had never felt awkward when in silence with Joel. He was that comforting to be around. When you got to the market, you were met by both Tommy and Maria, both grinning at the sight of the two of you together, Joel helping you out of the truck as usual. He took the tote you had brought and refused to give it back to you.
As the four of you went around the market, Joel walked silently beside you, his presence bringing you warmth. Anytime you purchased something, he would take the items off your hands and placed them in the bag, but not before trying to fight you off paying the vendor. Over the next hour, this became a joke for the both of you, each competing to pay for something you wanted to buy before the winner eventually pumped a victorious fist and the two of you laughing as if you had known each other forever. Without realising it, you two were standing closer and closer together, and he began placing his hand on the small of your back to lead you away from vendors once you were done shopping. Tommy and Maria walked hand in hand behind you, both exchanging meaningful looks and satisfied smiles with each other.
You stopped for brunch at the cafĂ© near the market before going home. You and Joel had gotten comfortable enough to share a menu and lean into each other as you perused it, wondering what you wanted to eat. When the food arrived, the four of you ate and chatted. You were feeling so comfortable for the first time since you had moved in, and unthinkingly, you took a piece of fruit from Joelâs plate. Once the fruit had entered your mouth, you paused, horrified at what you just did, and turned to look at him, an apology on your lips. You looked across the table, and Maria was just beaming at you, Tommy smiling so brightly at Joel you thought his face was going to crack. When you turned to look at Joel again, he just had the biggest smile on his face, and he pushed the plate nearer to you, before spearing a piece of omelette from your plate onto his fork and ate it. All the while, he was looking at you with a smile, daring you to chastise him.
Of course you didnât.
After the meal, the four of you walked back to the car, still chatting and laughing as if you had known each other forever. When you got to his truck, he opened the door for you, making sure you were sat and buckled, before moving to put the tote you had brought in the back seat.
âJoelâ, a voice called out.
Joel turned and went stock still. A lady with blonde hair was standing a few feet away, a man holding the hand of a little girl behind her. The little girl looked to be about five years old, her eyes and hair a carbon copy of her fatherâs, clearly distracted by a toy she was holding in her other hand.
Joel didnât move. Didnât speak. He just stared. His eyes on the little girl and the man holding her hand, the man who was averting his eyes, looking annoyedly anywhere else but at Joel.
âHow have you been?â the lady asked, her face nervous and unsure, her eyes flickering towards you.
Tommy and Maria reappeared, Maria going to the lady, and had a quiet but obviously heated discussion with her. Tommy took Joel by the shoulder and encouraged him to get back in the car. After some wild hand gestures from both ladies, Maria walked back to Joelâs truck, and the lady walked away, looking defeated. The man with her quickly handed the little girl to her, and turned away, his face unreadable.
After some quiet talks from Tommy, Joel started the engine and drove away.
It was as if someone had pushed the reset button on Joel. He shut down, hands gripping the steering wheel with white knuckles, his face tight, jaws clenched. You didnât dare ask him anything, so you kept quiet. He didnât speak at all, even as he pulled the door shut behind him after walking you up, placing the tote in your hands.
You spent Sunday morning cooking a big batch of your favourite meal. The small room had begun to feel like home to you, and cooking in the tiny kitchen made it even more so. You made enough for you to freeze and reheat over the week and decided to put several servings in a container to give to Joel. He did cook for you when you were sick, maybe itâs time you did something nice for him. He didnât answer his door, so you placed the container on the doormat, hoping he would take it when he was available. Just as you turned around to leave, the door opened, so you quickly picked up the container to hand to him, but it wasnât him at the door.
A kind-looking, older lady was there instead, and you just paused. She took one look at you, smiled, held her hand out to you and said,
âYou must be Julia from 1A. Hi. Anita Miller. Come in! Iâve been dying to meet you.â She opened the door wider, and waited for you to come in.
âSorry I was late answering the door,â she said, hobbling alongside you once you were inside. âMy foot is still not 100%. Joel is at one of the apartments fixing something or other. Come sit, we can get to know each other,â she said, sitting down, patting the seat next to her.
You sat down and took in the apartment. You had never been to his apartment before. You realised quickly that it was nothing like yours, obviously renovated to create a bigger space for him. There seemed to be more than one bedroom, the place exceedingly clean for a bachelor pad. You understood now why Joel was so comfortable picking up after you that one time you were sick.
You and Anita chatted, getting to know one another. Her husband died about fifteen years prior, passing his construction business to Joel and Tommy to handle. They were young and made some mistakes trusting the wrong people. But they got back up, doing what they really wanted to do, using what skills they had learnt to supplement their incomes. She had a very proud mama look on her face when talking about the two. She had come to visit Joel after she had heard about the encounter at the farmerâs market. She planned on staying a few days, just to make sure Joel was fine.
You so wanted to ask her what that was about but didnât want to seem nosy. She asked you about your pregnancy, reminiscing on when she was pregnant with her two boys while doing so. You liked her. She was very easy to talk to, but you couldnât seem to shake the feeling that she was measuring you one way or another, and you couldnât decide if that was a good thing or bad. Still, you found yourself telling her everything. It was the first time you did so. When it first happened, you told Maria and Frank the gist of it, and hadnât had the energy to tell her anything more. Anita listened, and at the end, pulled you close to her, enveloping you in a hug.
The door opened, and you pulled yourself away from Anitaâs hug. Joel walked in, a toolbox in his hand, his shirt and hair soaking wet. You guessed one of the young ladies showerheads had broken after all. He took a look at you and his mother on the couch, and turned slightly red. He muttered a quick hello before going into his bedroom, shutting the door gently behind him. You began to make excuses to leave, but Anita held your hand â donât you dare, her eyes and raised eyebrows said, eerily like Joelâs. You took the container you had brought and suggested that you serve them lunch. Joel must be hungry.
Joel came out freshly showered and changed to his dining table set with lunch. He took a look at how you and his mama were talking easily to each other, his heart feeling fuller than it had been in years. He sat down, and the three of you ate, Anita complementing you on your cooking, Joel helping himself to a second serving, you and Anita talking about the little things going on in your lives.
Anita couldnât help but look at her oldest boy, reading his minute body languages that she had known so well ever since he was in her belly. He was calm, relaxed. He didnât say anything, but the silent looks he gave you told her everything. And this Julia from 1A, you seemed guarded, but somehow at the same time at ease with Joel. She liked you. You and Joel were quietly chancing looks at each other, something neither of you realised you were doing. But Anita saw. And she was happy about it. Tommy and Maria were not wrong, it seemed.
Mrs Adler came by after lunch, and the two older ladies went into the spare bedroom to catch up on their gossip. You helped Joel clean up, something that felt backwards to you. Max had never helped out in the kitchen. And you felt like you just saw a glimpse of the past that you hadnât seen before. You thought back to the time Joel spent with you at the hospital, and remembered why you didnât think of Max when the ultrasound session was going on. When your appendix burst a few years ago, Max only visited you for a few minutes every day, always having somewhere to be, important, money-making places. But you were the supporting girlfriend, so you didnât mind.
Your thoughts were interrupted by Joel, asking you if you would join him for a walk. He had eaten a bit too much and needed one to avoid sleeping the evening away. Someoneâs cooking was too good, he said, giving you a small wink. The two of you spent the next forty minutes or so walking around the area, you told him about your work and research, and in turn, he told you about the apartment building and his workshop. The Joel you saw back at the farmerâs market was back, it seemed. The two of you bantering and exchanging stories with each other, comfortably walking, shoulders brushing every now and again.
When you got back to the apartment, Mrs Adler was just leaving. You hugged Anita goodbye, feeling as if you had known her forever. She gave you a long and tight hug, telling you not to be a stranger. Joel walked you up as usual, but instead of silently shutting the door behind you, he took you by the wrist, and leaned in for a quick kiss on your cheek, thanking you for lunch. You kissed him back, also on the cheek, and asked him if he will drive you to work the next morning. His shyly nodded, his face blushing slightly, before turning around to leave.
You caught yourself smiling a lot for the rest of that day, even as you were mopping the floors, cleaning the bathroom, wiping the kitchen down. You felt silly, but you liked what you were feeling, just like a little girl with a crush. You went to bed smiling that night. You were still smiling when you got ready for work the next morning.
That was until, you looked at your feet in the shower and found the water red with blood from between your legs.

I hate not finishing books, but I might do that with The Dark Forest. Itâs just so much more sexist than the first book.
#do i know how chinese sexism works? yeah#i minored in asian studies#but seeing it to this extent from an arguably modern author#is just disgusting#gonna stick to chinese books by anyone but men it looks like

YOU'RE PREGNANT! â JJK MEN
SYNOPSIS...how the jjk men(toji, gojo, geto, nanami, choso) act when youâre 9 months pregnant and ready to pop
INFO...jjk men x fem!reader, fluff, comfort, reader is pregnant (obvi), mention of mood swings, cravings, emotional reader, jjk men being great dads
OTHER...likes and reblogs are appreciated
TOJI
toji has already dealt with this kind of thing before when it came to megumi, but itâs been so long that heâs almost forgotten what it was like. Youâre waddling around the house, a stank look on your face as you stare at him. âYes?â He questions, eyebrows raised. âI want food,â you simply answer. âOkay, what do you want?â He asks. And when you tell him youâre not sure, he lets out a long sigh because he knows this is gonna end in you getting emotional. Youâll complain your back hurts, your feet hurt, and then youâll end up cursing him out for putting a baby in you. So all he does is walks over to you, and hugs you because heâd rather do that than get into a stupid argument about food. âToji!â You cry into his arms. âIâm just so hungry and I donât know what to eat!â You sniffle. To help with your problem, he starts listing off every fast food restaurant and food he could think of in hopes youâd find one appealing enough. âChinese food?â He shrugs. You gasp with excitement. âUgh, yes! Me and the baby could go for some orange chicken!â You smile. Toji just chuckles, âmaking the call right now, sweetheart.â He watches as you waddle over to the couch, smiling like a kid in a candy store.
GOJO
ever since he found out you were pregnant, he was at the stores buying whatever supplies he saw, doesnât matter if you needed it or not. And till this day, when youâre about a few weeks from popping, heâs still buying the baby things. âWhat do you think of this, eh?â He smirks, holding up a onesie that says âmy dad is the bestâ. âYouâre gonna spoil her rotten, is what I think,â you groan as you reach into the bag to see what else he bought for your daughter. âMore toys?â You hold up a fake set of plastic keys. Gojo snatched them from you. âIâll have you know that she will be learning life skills at a very young age, thank you very much,â he scoffed. All you did was laugh, shaking your head at him in disbelief. Your daughterâs room was filled to the brim with clothes, toys, blankets, you were starting to wonder if you had any more room. âI can already tell sheâs going to be a daddyâs girl,â you said with a sigh, rubbing your belly. âYes she is,â Gojo leaned in towards your very plump belly, âisnât that right?â He placed a kiss on your stomach.
NANAMI
nanami is the type that doesnât let you do a damn thing by yourself. Youâre reach for something to high on the shelf, heâs sprinting towards you, ready to be at your service. âBe careful,â he says, rubbing your back. âKento, I got it,â you chuckle. His eyes are always on you, watching your every move. Especially when youâre in public, he hates when people get too close to you. He knows others donât watch their surroundings and could easily bump into you. âKen!â You shout from the bedroom. âYes?â He peeks his head around the corner. âCan you help me get my shoes on, I canât even reach,â you pout. Within seconds heâs on his knees, slipping on your sandals, and tying them around your ankle. He will even go as far as to paint your toes if you forgot because he knows how much you hate not having them done. Like I said, he wonât let you do a thing by yourself. âThank you, Ken,â you kiss his lips.
GETO
geto literally pampers you. Iâm not saying he acts like nanami, but Iâm saying that he makes your pregnancy as comfortable as possible. âSugu, baby, can you rub my feet? Theyâre swollen.â You frown. âOf course.â He grabs the lotion and casually massages your feet while youâre both watching a movie, and literally over the course of your pregnancy heâs become the best masseuse ever. Heâll also randomly creep up behind you and wrap his arms around your waist before lifting your belly, feeling the weight off of your back. âFeel better, mama?â He kisses your cheek. âSo much better.â You nod, closing your eyes as you embrace the moment. Youâve even found it hard to shower while being pregnant and geto takes it upon himself to help you, albeit jumping in the shower with you or sitting on the edge of the tub while youâre in the bath. âIs the water too hot?â He rubs the soapy water over your shoulders. âItâs perfect.â
CHOSO
Iâm sorry but choso is clueless. Not in a bad way, but in like a panicky way. Youâre an emotional wreck through your pregnancy, moods swings like crazy. âCan you just get out please?!â Youâre annoyed with him, bothered about the littlest thing ever and then in the next two minutes youâre walking out the room just crying and apologizing to him, kissing his cheek. He has no idea what the hell is going on, and youâd think heâd learn after nine months, but no. All he can is just sit there and comfort you. âItâs fine,â he assures. He gets your favorite food that youâve been craving for the past two weeks, eating it non stop and then within a split second youâre gagging, pushing the food away. âOh my gosh, Choso! Please throw it away, it tastes so bad.â You gag again. âButâŠIâŠyou were just eating this yesterdayâŠ?â Heâs says, confused before throwing the bowl of food in the garbage. Quite literally doesnât understand anything, just confused to all hell, but heâs trying his best.

Under My Care - Sylus x Innocent Fem Reader
Random Blurb Idea: When Sylus was taking his innocent, clueless girlfriend out for a date only to be interrupted by his business partners who just happened to be at the bar Sylus owned in Linkon
Prompt Sentence: No, itâs alright, come here
Disclaimer: I do not own the images nor the characters or you (the MC). All images were taken from Pinterest.
When I mentioned âinnocentâ, itâs more so clueless and not really understanding the danger of the world type and not so much in a negative form like being âdumbâ or anything like that.
Also Iâd like to mention that I donât know what currency they use in the game but assuming since the game is from China, Iâll be using Chinese money aka Chinese Yuan
And I want to point out the reader (aka you) is not the MC (Miss Hunter)
Warnings: fluff, slightly aggressive Sylus (not towards you, his men lmao), possessive and protective Slyus (not in a bad way), cursing and sexual names (not from Sylus)
âLuke, Kieran, see it that all schedule for the day is cleared outâ Sylus mentioned, putting on his coat over his sweater
âRight away boss!â both Luke and Kieran exclaimed as Mephisto eyed the situation from the window. âAre you visiting her?â Luke asked, making Sylus chuckle
âYes. And I hope that I wonât be disturbed by anything. I trust you both will take care of everything until I come back later onâ Sylus mentioned and the twins hummed, taking notice how their boss looked much more appealing and approachable in his outfit compared to his regular attire in the N109 zone.
Once he finished getting ready, Sylus went to use one of his most lavish car instead of his motorcycle to blend in with the people in Linkon and to not draw much attention.
It was a short trip and right before noon, Sylus had already parked his car in front of your house, waiting for you as he leaned on his car, ignoring all the passerby who were shocked to see such a tall muscular yet lavish man in a regular neighbourhood.
âYouâre here already?!â Sylus immediately looked up to see you standing by the door, you had already done your makeup and hair but was still in your loungewear.
A smirk went onto his face as Sylus walked up towards your door and greeted you with a kiss on your forehead. âI thought Iâd come earlier so I can enjoy moments like this with you. Will you let me in?â
You nodded and opened the door, letting your tall scary looking boyfriend into the cozy small home you have. âDo you want something to eat while I change?â
Shaking his head, Sylus opted to just sit by the couch. âIâm alright, sweetie. I had something before coming here. You go on and change then. Take your time. I can waitâ
You nodded and peck your boyfriendâs cheek before walking back up to your room and finished getting change while Sylus was mindlessly scrolling his phone; ignoring all the incoming messages from business colleagues both in the N109 zone and in Linkon but Sylus could care less about all of them.
Today was about you and him. He wonât let anything get in the way of a whole day ahead of him spending time with you. His loving, caring, adorable girlfriend.
âSylus, Iâm done!! Letâs go!!â you exclaimed as Sylus put his phone away and smiled when he saw you jogging down the stairs wearing a simple white sweater, long flowy skirt, the branded shoulder bag Sylus gifted, and oxford shoes.
âShall we, sweetie?â Sylus extended his arm as you latched onto it, giggling, making Sylus smile
Sylus then led you to his car, being the gentlemen he is, he opened the door for you, closed it. He even put on your seatbelt as he settled in the driver's seat.
The whole day, Sylus took you to places you want to go. Sylus knew your wishlist as your shopping account is linked to his phone. Several new books just released? Sylus would bring you to the bookstore, pay for it, and take it out of the shop. Donât want to bother flipping the pages? Sylus bought a tablet and downloaded every book youâve owned and on your TBR.
You wanted to try a new cafe? Sylus wouldnât hesitate to bring you no matter how far it was at the moment. He would go as far as to look up the recommendations and order practically everything on the menu much to your complaint. Youâre too full? Heâll pack it to go for you. You want to have dessert almost immediately? Sylus would tease you before giving in to your wants.
You wanted to go around the mall, play the claw machines, kitty cards, go to the arcade? Heâll do it all. You want to buy new makeup and clothes? Anything you see or touch, Sylus instantly gets it without caring about your whining about it being expensive.
The whole entire day, Sylus is practically your sugar daddy. Anything you want, anywhere you want to go, heâll do it all for you. He even carried all the plush and things he bought for you despite your complaints about everything being expensive or too heavy.
Sylus didnât once complain about anything and just smiled at your secretly sparkly eyes when he paid for your wishlist items. By the end of the night, Sylus decided to bring you to one of your wishlist restaurants which just happens to be the restaurant that he owns in Linkon.
Once you both entered the restaurant, Sylus confidently brought the two of you towards the front of the waiting line, ignoring all the stares that where directed towards the two of you until the waiter at the front realised who had just come and immediately, the manager of the restaurant immediately came to greet Sylus and it was then did everyone realised that Sylus was the owner of the restaurant.
Sylus held your waist tightly as he brought you with him, following the manager who led the two of you to the exclusive VIP room which confused you but made Sylus smirk with pride. âJust a little something I pull for you today. But youâre welcome to come here whenever you wantâ
Sylus helped you sit down as the waiter came and asked Sylus for his usual order but this time Sylus just told the waiter, âItâs up to the lady tonight. Iâll have anything she orders and make sure that it reaches the minimum spendingâ
You looked in shock when Sylus said there was a minimum spending and Sylus chuckled at your shocked expression. âDonât worry sweetie. You wonât know the exact number. Only I do. But Iâll give you a hint. You have to order at least an equivalent of 5 tomahawk steaksâ
You looked at Sylus as if he was crazy but you tried to order several menus that you thought werenât as expensive. Sylus chuckled at the several orders you made and asked the waiter to bring it out as soon as possible.
Once the food and drinks came out, Sylus had you try everything first and let him know your opinion about the food before eating them himself. As the night goes on, the two of you continued eating together, occasionally talking and updating about each otherâs life. Sylus was sipping on his wine while you were drinking your fresh lemon tea. Though the two of you are a contrast to one another, neither of you mind. In fact, both of you enjoyed the contrast and see it as complementing each other.
Sometime when dessert was just about to come, you decided to excuse yourself to the restroom, saying how you were quite full to the point your stomach had to lose some of the food you just ate to save room for dessert.
âAlright, sweetie. Donât take too long. Your dessert will melt laterâ Sylus teased as you stuck your tongue out as a reply, making Sylus chuckle at your slightly childish behavior
In the midst of waiting for you, Sylus felt another presence and the door to his private VIP room was opened to reveal some of his business partners barging into his private room where he was waiting for you, his beloved.
The bouncer who tried to stop the men came in went to Sylus. âI apologise sir, I tried my best to keep them away but they threatened andâŠâ Sylus raised his hand indicating the bouncer to stop talking. âLeave usâ
The bouncer immediately nodded and left the room while Sylusâ business âpartnersâ were standing across him. âTell me what updates you have or shall I put a bullet in your tongue for every miscellaneous reason for coming here, into my private dining area and disturbing my dinnerâ
Sylus felt his men were lucky for they provided him with some useful information regarding the updates of his businesses however some were testing his patience and got on his nerves when they were asking if they were going to get paid more or if there were going to be a promotion to be part of his field men. Sylus was ready to end the conversation when there was a soft knock on the door and the bouncer opened it with you peeking in.
âIâm sorry, am I disturbing your sudden meeting?â you asked in a soft tone and before Sylus could answer, one of his men decided to try and act all tough, not knowing you were Sylusâ beloved girlfriend
âYes you are, you slut. Canât you see that Sylus doesnât have time to deal with you attention-seeking girls?â one of the men scoffed as the others were agreeing but also looking at you as if you were a treat
Hearing the comments and stares, you felt small and somehow, tears were building up in your eyes. âI, Iâm sorry. I, Iâll goâŠâ you stuttered until Sylusâ strong voice echoed the room
âNo, itâs alright, come here sweetieâ Sylus reassured you and even motioned you to come back into the room where he used his evol to pull a chair next to him
You were still unsure and fidgeted with your fingers. It didnât help that the men in the room were still eyeing you but Sylus made his statement loud and clear. âStop fucking looking at her as if sheâs a piece of meat or Iâll gauge your eyes out one at a timeâ
Though the statement was meant for his men, you canât help but be scared of Sylusâ loud and commanding voice which he never uses when heâs with you. Once his men looked down, Sylus took it as his chance to use his evol and gently dragged you so that you were now on his lap.
âIâm sorry I raised my voice with you in the room, sweetheart. Are you alright?â Sylus asked, his hold around your waist was gentle and loving; contrasting to his voice and actions towards his men who were shivering at Sylusâ commanding tone
You were still shaken up at what happened but tried to tell Sylus how you felt. âI, I thought I came into the wrong roomâŠâ
Sylus shook his head and brought one of his hands to your cheek, gently brushing your hair back. âIt wasnât your fault, sweetie. They came here unnoticed even thoughâŠâ Sylus looked at his men, gently pushing your head to his chest, ensuring your vision was not towards his men. âIâve made it fucking clear that no one is to disturb me todayâ
Sylus leaned back on his chair with you in his arms as he slowly lulled you to sleep. His touch might be gentle but his eyes were ready to kill anyone who so much looked at you the wrong way. âNot only did you all carelessly walk through that door and interrupt my day off but you all just had to eye my beloved as if she was some kind of girl you can pay your way. In addition to that, you dared to call her by an absurd name? Looks like you all need some lesson about respect because no oneâ Sylusâ hold on you looks more possessive but caring at the same time
âNo fucking one, eyes, touches, or even talks about my beloved in a disgusting, animalistic way and gets away with it. She is my lover and specifically under my care. And Iâd be dammed to let anyone who mistreats her in any way shape or form get away with it without some kind of lessonâ
A/N: I have a confession. I have been trying out c.ai and honestly, it gives me some story ideas for Sylus but I'm not sure if anyone will be interested. I read on Tumblr someone mentioned what if the MC is the 'I don't believe in love anymore' type of girl and Sylus is the 'I can show you what real love is' and I'm just like T^T gosh, that would be so me. Anyways, just a lil fic I decided to pull up before I slowly descend back to the real world since I've been busy :')
If anyone would like to request me anything of Sylus or LADS, do send me a request and I will try to get to it. Otherwise, I hope this fic brightens up your day and take care xoxo peanutwott

i love the hilarious eunuch ranking system by @welcometothejianghu so i decided to make one based on (mostly) REAL historical chinese enunchs!
in chronological order:
Warring States Period long story short, the PM is sleeping with the Empress Dowager, and he wants to extracate himself before her son (future Emperor Qin Shi Huang) gets old enough to find out. the PM finds her a suitable replacement, and the replacement is attached to a guy named Lao Ai. They pluck his beard and pass him off as a eunuch so he can sneak into the palace. Bing bang boom everyone's happy. This goes terribly wrong later, since Lao Ai tries to replace the emperor with his own kids and stages a failed coup. rest in pieces buddy...
it's very likely that Lao Ai was a ficticious character invented by Sima Qian, who will be appearing on this list later.
Qin Dynasty
Zhao Gao helped the first emperor of China conquer an empire, and administer it efficiently with his legal knowledge, but he also made the second emperor into a puppet, and weakened the empire for his own political gain. Max points of complexity, but you'd get more loyalty out of a coffee club punch card.
Before launching his soft coup, he decided to test the waters by bring in a deer and gaslighted the emperor by calling it a horse. the officials who were loyal to him called it a horse, and he executed the rest.
Han Dynasty Jiru, male favourite of Emperor Gaozu (Liu Bang), the peasant scoundrel who became the founder of the Han Dynasty. look, if the emperor has a harem of hundreds of women and you manage to catch his attention, you max out in style points. simple as. for most of chinese history it was fairly common for high-ranking men, especially eunuchs, to wear make up like powder and rouge, but i decided to give Jiru some women's huadia as well, cause he's a baddie.
Jiru gets a bad rap for alledgely distracting the emperor from his duties, but lets be real, history is written by civil officials who have no shortage of professional jealousy and gender/sexuality related prejudice towards eunuchs, since they were the personal attendants of royalty and could exert a lot of influence. plus Liu Bang was already pissing in the hats of confucian scholars, most of the poor work ethic is on HIM. Jiru should get credit for making him marginally less of a troglodite.
all in all he didn't try any court intrigue so extra points for loyalty and complexity. free my man >:( he's just a Han dynasty Monica Lewinsky who got slutshamed by jealous coworkers >:(
Han Dynasty
meet the father of east asian history, sima qian. half the people on this list can owe their placement here thanks to his extremely though history books "records of the grand historian"
history at this time was mostly "creative writing" and sima qian attempted to give the practise more academic intergrety, he went out and personally interviewed people, tried to get primary sources, and got rid of most of the more fanstastical aspects. however, he was not without his biases and some texts can be seen as allegorical/veiled insults towards the Han Dynasty, especially towards Emperor Wu. unlike most of the people on this list, sima qian was from the gentry and castated later in life as a punishment for treason. he was implicated after trying to defend a friend, and could not pay the fine to commute his sentence. the gentlemen at the time were expected to die by suicide rather than live with such ignimony, but sima qian chose to live so he could finish writing the history book his father started. the "giant conspiracy" joke explained: the chinese word for penis is a homophone for "conspiracy".

So for basically my whole life I'd grown up with and was resigned to accept that the chinese concept of formal/nice clothing of my and the previous generation has been western clothes. So at any awards ceremonies or performances, entertainers would show up mostly in western suits/dresses and maaaaaybe you'll spot the occasional cheongsam if they're going for a Wong Fei Hong vibe. Which, you know, kinda sucks if you have any concept of western cultural imperialism in asia.
So when the hanfu revivalist movement started, I was waiting to see when it would enter the mainstream -- my hope was for fashion designers to integrate traditional/dynastic elements into their work and make it common place enough that I can buy this shit online for ME. Because I WANT.
Though some of the designs can be a bit hit or miss, I am LOVING what various stars and entertainers are wearing out and about now.
Anyway - here's a collection of Xiao Shunyao's modern hanfu inspired/hybridized stage outfits from the last couple years. For his MLC performances, his stylists seem to be borrowing inspiration from his Di Feisheng and possibly other character costume silhouettes.
I'd been seeing a few comments about how his outfits play with gender - and some of his outfits do! But I think the interesting thing to discuss is from which standard is he playing with gender? Because from a western perspective, the things he does with his western suit tops, belting on top of the jacket for a tightly cinched waist, and the addition of a trailing skirt = femme. But if you're talking from a hanfu-hybridized pov, that's just a modern take on hanfu and having any of those elements is not inherently femme and would often read masc to me.
So these things aren't necessarily gendered because they exist traditionally in chinese men's clothing or costume designs (ie video games, comics, historical fiction illustrations and film, etc, so therefore in the modern lexicon of masculine/acceptable for men):
presence or lack of a skirt
silky, velvety, gauzy or sparkly material choice, esp in formal or stage clothing
short or long length of skirt
embroidery
flowers/floral/bird designs
folding fans
certain styles of makeup
beading, gold, tassels, jewels
non-chunky jewelry
headbands
widely flowing silhouettes
What XSY's stylists are doing with some western clothing items are interesting. I'm convinced there have been one or two western jacket tops made of thinner material that they're folding over the front, and belting down instead of buttoning (which then matches with his other outfits that are designed specifically to do this). Then they're adding a skirt, cloak or bracer element to it.
The western portions often bring a military minimalist feel which they balance with a more gauzy material in the skirt or cloak portions.
Things I think are playing with gender:
row 1 - image 1: red di feisheng-inspired outfit
The lace-up girdle is there to match the bracers in both material and style. And it's positioned to be similar to the heavy belt that Di Feisheng wears. HOWEVER. That style of girdle/corset-like clothing item can't be divorced from the modern idea of sexy leather corsets. So imo, this waist piece on that outfit was a choice. Especially when paired with his allergic-to-collars-higher-than-his-sternum necklines. And if you take into context how masculine yet female coded his character is in the drama, the whole look evokes that.
row 2, image 1: black western suit with belt on top, hat, cloak, black boots and not-visible but also a black tassel fringe skirt
Hat and cloak moves the intention of the outfit from western toward a more Asian slant, because alone, it looks like a western black suit with western heeled boots, cinched waist with a lady's belt (seated photoshoot) and western style tassel skirt. The suit top consists of a vest and a shrug-like sleeve portion that appears masculine at first glance. But take the shrug and pair it with the tassel skirt (I can't find the red carpet photos but here is a better view of the skirt when seated), and I think you got a look that's both intentionally edging toward the femme in a western sense but also confusing matters by hiding within the parameters of both western and chinese traditional male styling.
row 2 - image 2 : white asymetrical western jacket styled in a front fold-over style, gauze skirt, trailing pearl embellishments
The more traditional leaning version of this is the white outfit in row 3 that he wears to the Hi6 Hello Saturday variety show -- the skirt portion on that outfit is one I'd consider non-gendered. Row 1, images 2 and 3 are examples of masculine/neutral uses of gauze that plays with flow of form but isn't inherently femme. This stage outfit is very western-appearing masculine suiting, until you hit the skirt which is giving me long ballerina tie-on skirt with the additional swan/mermaid pearl strings. Imo, another example of deliberately using traditional masculine styling but switching it up with the combination of material choice and make that is feminine.
row 2, image 3: black space military boots, black suiting, black -silver ombre sequin trailing skirt and white gauzy shawl with black floral design
The over all design is going for a masculine military-feel. (think this outfit for shen langhun) But instead of a thicker military cloak, it's replaced with a woman's gauze shawl and a skirt that trails behind him very much like the back of a woman's formal fish-tail gown when he moves around. If you take into context Wang Herun's outfit is a white-silver sequined dress cut in a way to also give a space-military-queen vibe, imo they both coordinated their outfits to balance out with both femme and masc qualities.
Thoughts? I'm curious what others think about this.
While I wait for the CNY photoshoot for XSY's red and black look, here's him with his stage collaborators with a nice range of skirt lengths, period influences and material choices. The woman in the center is the one with the most military-fighter design out of the bunch. The dudes are all in variations of formal-wear-with-good-kicking-boots (and lots of crotch space).

Okay guys I have an extremely important post to make.
Firstly, Shen Yuan in his old life. I firmly believe Shen Yuan was 5'6 and here's why.
Average men's height (both worldwide and Chinese) is 5'7. Shen Yuan would not care that he's one inch shorter than average bc that's too small to care about.
Now imagine an au where he does not transmigrate into shen jiu, and the system half-assedly just makes a model using his old body. BUT this is a fantasy setting where all men are absurdly tall and all women look like models.
Speaking of models, most professional models are very tall:
So here's Shen Yuan, a man who has never cared about masculinity that much before, all of a sudden surrounded by:
Luo Binghe (6'2)
Yue Qingyuan (6'2)
Liu Qingge (6'1)
Shen Jiu (6'0)
AIRPLANE (5'9)
Many of Bingheâs love interests (5'9)
And then him.... (5'6)
All of a sudden "one inch less than average" is very embarrassing for him (and very adorable to everyone in love with him)

It's a Match! || 141 x reader
[ The Prequel ] || [ Chapter 2 ]
Pairing: Gaz x Reader || 141 x gn!Reader Words: 1K~ Summary: While overcoming recent heartbreak, you decide to join Tinder in search of a rebound. Your friends advise to just Swipe Right indiscriminately... What happens when 4 soldiers from the same squad match with you?
Chapter 1: Kyle
All of last night you and your friends spent time tinkering with your profile, putting up the sexiest pics of you that you had, some of them from Instagram, some from your camera roll, and filling in all the fields of info you couldâŠÂ
And then you started checking out the profiles, definitely judging and roasting the men that popped on your screen (blame the alcohol), but always swiping right, regardless of what you (or them) thought of the most recent man on the screen.
But, once they left, you turned off the notifications and alerts from the app and went to sleep. You had acquiesced to downloading the app and making a profile, but the last thing you wanted was to be on that app constantly and get bombarded with DMs and Likes/Super-LikesâŠ
The next day came and went and, as you sat in your kitchen after work, unboxing your take-out boxes of dinner, your group chat pinged with a text from Leah.
leah: How's Tinder going? đ
You bit your lip and sighed as you typed out a response:
you: havenât touched it all day bc i was at work. leah: Better touch it then!!
Rolling your eyes, you set the phone down on the table again, and locked the screen, as you began stirring the noodles you bought with your chopsticks.
Mia joined not long after with her own opinion.Â
mia: ive got a good feeling about today! ur gonna find a hot bloke i know it 𫶠im sending good energyyyy!
âYeah, rightâŠâ You grumbled. But, once again, you acquiesced and clicked on the little flame-shaped app icon.
The app lagged at first, for a good 5 seconds, and then a bunch of DMs and Like notifications pinged your phone.
You couldnât help but chuckle to yourself⊠Oh, how predictable men are⊠They see a picture showing just a bit more skin and they try to chat the person up. But, at the same time, it made you feel quite goodâŠ
You skim through the DMs youâve already gotten, over 99 of them⊠And none of them tickled your fancy. Plenty of them were variations of âOi.â, âHey.â, âHi.â... Not to mention the ones that were just directly asking you to meet up right from the get-go.
Returning to the groupchat, you text your friends a screenshot of the 99+ counter on both the DMs and the Likes, which causes them to break into cheers at you.
leah: Look at you!!!! mia: i knew it. you: not into any of them tho. mia: then go back to swiping girl!
Biting back a little groan, you returned to Tinder and flicked onto the Swiping page.
Surprisingly, now that you were alone (and kind of doing it against your will), it was a lot easier for you to not get lost over-analyzing the profiles and simply⊠mindlessly moving your finger.
Right.
Right.
Right.
Right.
Ew, thatâs a catfish of a famous male model, Report.
Right.
Right.
Right.
âKyle.â You said softly as you read the name on your screen. He looked adorable, with a squinted âthe-sun-is-in-my-eyesâ smile. â29⊠A soldier⊠a BrummieâŠâ You mused as you slipped a Chinese roll past your lips and chewed.
You took a screenshot of his profile and sent it quickly to your friendsâ groupchat before you returned to Tinder. As you clicked through his photo gallery, you saw the push notifications pinging at the top of the screen.
leah: HEâS STUNNING! đ« mia: đđđđđ mia: smash.
Chuckling, you continue going through his pictures. âHoliday photo, holiday photo, I seriously hope those are his nephews or something, mandatory picture in uniform, and⊠JESUS CHRIST, a warning wouldâve been NICE?!â You said to no one in particular as your jaw dropped open and you almost dropped your Chinese roll.Â
âBloody hell⊠Is that sweat or baby oil?â You asked yourself as you looked at his slick, bare chest in the mirror selfie he uploaded. âAnd is he cupping his-â You stopped that train of thought before it could go too far from the station.
Clicking the arrow in the corner you finally brought his profile into full-screen and proceeded to find yourself chuckling at his bio.Â
His pictures were all wonderful, he looked like a guy who took care of himself, and he was funny which was the best part.Â
Taking a deep breath, you press the Green heart at the bottom. A squeal escapes your mouth when the phone screen suddenly changes to the darker âItâs a Match!â screen with Kyle.
Your eyes widen in surprise and, just as you press the DM button, intent on coming up with something to message him, you notice it.
Kyle: bought some shoes from a drug dealer this morning. donât know what he laced them with but Iâve been tripping over myself all day and now think ive finally fallen for you đ
The cheesy pick-up line has you closing your eyes and exhaling through your nose. Itâs starting off terribly⊠But heâs the first bloke you felt inclined to text⊠That has to mean something, doesnât it?
you: you fell out of a helicopter⊠i dont think its the shoes. iâm starting to think ur just clumsy. Kyle: holy shit youâre not a bot! letâs goooo you: a bot? you really thought that? Kyle: when someone has posted pics as cute as yours you cant help but have that worry in the back of your mind đ
Kyle: or that ur a catfish đ€·ââïž you: i promise you im neither. you: and thank you. youâre cute too. Kyle: thats exactly what a bot/catfish would say đ you: well how would a human talk then?? Kyle: cant tell you bc then ur gonna machine learn and start doing it you: well then how else am i supposed to prove im not either?? Kyle: let me take you out. let me get a proper good look at you. you: was that all a ploy to invite me out?? đ« Kyle: first time on tinder? you: that obvious huh? Kyle: a little. Kyle: so is that a yes? you: Iâll think about it. Kyle: i can work with that. đ„Ž Kyle: hmu whenever youd like. no pressure.Â
Maybe you would hit him up later⊠Once you gained enough courage to go through with the whole âreboundâ thing.
Biting your lip, you click off the DMs and return to the Swiping pageâŠ

Neighbour Ghost x reader 8 (end)
1.6k | fluff The stray and his forever home (part 1)
âBone apple tea.â You placed the cup of camomile in front of Simon.
âWhat?â
You pointed at your skull-printed shirt, the apple pie patch on his hoodie and the tea on the table. âBone. Apple. Tea.â
Heâd missed that brilliant smile too much. It was impossible to not want to kiss you. He chuckled as he pulled you to stand between his thighs.
That Sunday with your help, despite the pounding of his head, he packed the rest of his stuff and managed to move out. In the last few days he had before he left, he spent any possible moment with you, mainly eating his favourite Chinese takeout or cuddling on the couch.
Two months later when Simon came back, things crawled to how they were, with him visiting for dinner and leaving before midnight. Eventually, he stayed more and more nights a week, leaving more than a few of his shirts behind.
The divorce was finalised and his childhood home was sold. The city of Manchester didnât mean gripping the straps of his backpack after school as he walked up the dreaded front steps anymore, nor sleeping restlessly lest someone barged in the door with another bizarre creature. The house was gone, along with the memories that breathed within the walls. He didnât miss them.
His mum got a flat near Tommyâs and a job at a flower shop in the neighbourhood. âNot as nice as working with Benâ, she said. She had to buy her own bread, and none sheâd found in the area tasted remotely close to how grand his were. She still cooked too much, but Tommy didnât mind the extra whenever she dropped by. Little Joe always loved seeing his nana anyway.
Back from his next deployment, Simon held you at the door as he inhaled the warmth heâd missed terribly. After his shower, you showed him his shirts in their own drawer, not jammed between yours anymore. He smiled, pulling you in for a kiss.
In spring, he came with to visit your dad, insisting on wearing one of his dress shirts, even when you assured it was a regular lunch. He stood rigid on the porch, the neck of the wine bottle about to snap in his grip.
Your dad was taking too long. Was he arming himself before opening the door? Should he tackle and disarm him or take the shot like a man? He should have worn a tac vest.
âSi, relax.â You rubbed his back. âYouâre already too tall. Youâre going to scare my dad.â
Is that not a good thing?
Your dad (obviously unarmed) tried making small talk with him at lunch, but he sucked at it as much as Simon did, leaving you to do almost all the talking among the pauses. You only received short answers from the men who avoided each otherâs gazes.
Also, who the bloody hell put the coriander in the chicken stir-fry?!
âYour dad hates me,â Simon declared as he drove home, the phantom taste of soap persisted on his palate despite the hours between.
âHe doesnât, I promise. He doesnât even really like Chinese, but picked the place because I told him how much you love it. He really tried, but just doesnât talk much with new people.â You stifled a laugh. âYou should have cracked a few jokes.â
He gave you a deadpan look. âWhen we get home, Iâm going to tickle you until you pass out.â
Home.
Youâd made your flat Simonâs home too. You cleared another drawer for him, and another, and another, even when he didnât have so many possessions. But you let him expand and take up the space he needed. He reordered a set of his ID discs for you to keep on your nightstand.
Things were⊠easy. Simple, like getting out of bed a little later on weekends. With his nose buried in your hair, arm around your waist pulling you flush to his chest, he held you in silence from dawn until you woke. Listening to your quiet breathing filled his chest heavy with warmth.
Youâd asked multiple times if it bored him to be doing nothing, as if he didnât lay prone behind rifle scopes for hours on end for a living. It didnât, because being in your presence wasnât nothing. You were real, and you were his.
You woke with a stir, a smile gracing your lips when you realised he was with you before your eyes opened.
âGood morning, my love.â He slipped the strap of your tank top off before peppering kisses on the nape of your neck down your exposed shoulder.
âMorning, Si.â You reached back to scratch his scalp.
He rolled you onto your back before crawling on top of you, kissing the column on your neck making you giggle with his weekend scruff. He pulled away to admire your eyes, always striking in the warm sun.
âLove looking at you.â You cupped his cheek, tracing the healed cut with your thumb. âYouâre so beautiful, Si.â
He leaned in, and you stayed in bed a little longer.
In his shirt, you placed more toasts on the table.
âTwo goldfish are in a tankâŠâ
He handed you a buttered toast. âDonât steal my jokes, luv.â
âItâs too lame to forget.â
âYeah? âCause I remember you howling at Tesco when I told it.â
âIt was your first ever.â You smiled. âMy favourite.â
âWhy didnât you tell me I was scary, luv?â
âIâm not sure they teach you to tell the scary bloke heâs scary in self-defence class.â You took a bite of the toast.
âFair enough.â He shrugged. âAre you out of jam?â
âForgot to grab some yesterday, but I didnât forget your limes.â
Simon became a bit of a pie connoisseur. He figured baking was better than sparring with the intention of beating someone up to a pulp. He tried different fruits (even declared himself a pro at peeling) and techniques, and eventually other varieties. That late Saturday morning, it was key lime pie.
âWhyâs the cat so small?â you asked as you tied your kitty apron around his waist.
âWhy?â
âBecause it drank condensed milk.â
He liked that you were becoming more like him. âYou too, it seems.â
You mock gasped. âRude! You know I can take you, Si.â
âNot in a fight.â
You slapped his chest playfully earning a hearty laugh from him.
Volunteering at the soup kitchen became a regular occurrence too, along with his sergeants. Sam ended up dating one of the volunteersâ daughters, the one he was introduced to. Unfortunately, his two other sergeants hadnât had as much luck on their side. âDoes your birdie have sisters or friends, sir?â Eric joked, but it barely masked his hopefulness. You assured youâd ask around if they promised to keep each other safe while deployed.
It got hard at times, when things went sideways and the missions lasted longer, or when he had no way to contact you or wipe the tears off your face.
Somewhere along the way, Simon listed you as his emergency contact. You werenât supposed to find out this way. Not this soon, not from his captain calling you about how he was unconscious, dying from blood loss from getting his leg slashed.
The first thing he did when he astonishingly woke was to call you. He could ignore the sear on his thigh, or the fact that his eyelids weighed like lead, but not the guilt that sank into the pits of him when you were in a mess of tears.
âIâm so sorry, luv,â he croaked out of his throat that felt like sandpaper. âI mean it. Iâll leave this all behind if thatâs what it takes to keep you. You just have to say the word.â
âSi, you donât... always have to bend yourself backwards for others. I chose you for who you are, and I will keep choosing you, as long as you donât give up on this. On us.â You sniffled. âPlease come home soon. I need you with me.â
Simon was glad you stood by his decision to stay, because that afternoon a year after, as the major pinned on the new insignia onto his uniform, he couldnât wipe the smile off his face when the mass erupted in applause.
Captain Simon Riley.
Among the crowd, next to Tommy and Beth, her belly carrying his niece, you had your arm around his mum, Joeâs hand in yours. From across the room, your sincere eyes made him feel like a hero, the most desirable man. He knew he wasnât, but you looked at him like he was sunshine, and maybe, he was to you a little bit.
Nothing changed. Simon was still fatherless, still missed out on the memories a child deserved to have, but was never granted. Still bound to a past that wouldnât go, but he was more than that.
He thought his dad was the only thing standing in the way of happiness, whatever it meant. He knew now. It wasnât what he thought he wanted, wasnât what he imagined, but it was perfect. This was what it was supposed to be like all along.
âFor you,â he mouthed.
Simon Riley never wanted to be an oil painting admired by many, but he was, and always had been, a love note sealed with a kiss.

Planets & Nakshatras observation on looks and traits
(applicable for spouse analysis)
Mars ruled Nakshatras: Mrigashira, Chitra, Dhanishta
The skin will have a pinkish/reddish undertone.
They can have cuts/scars/marks on the face (representing their fighting spirit).
Men are prone to anger issues (except for Chitra, cuz it lies in Libra, so they have good controle over their anger)
Women are usually restless or even anxious (especially in Virgo Chitra).
Saturn ruled Nakshatras: Pushya, Anuradha, Uttara Bhadrapada
If Moon is in these Nakshatras then women can be seen wearing corsettes/shapewear or very tight clothes often, bcuz Saturn represents restrictions.
Saturn also represents ink and metals and in these Nakshatras a person can have tattoos and piercings, but a trigger planet for that would be Mars bcuz Mars rules over wounds and cuts. So Mars in these Nakshatras can very likely result in tattoos and piercings.
Purva Bhadrapada Nakshatra:
If you go back to my previous posts you will find about the foot injury trait of Purva Bhadrapada. I have seen this play out so many times that this Nakshatra will give some type of foot injuries, and prominently on the left foot. Justin Bieber has the planet Sun placed in his 7th house in the D9 chart and it is in the Nakshatra of Purva Bhadrapada. Sun is linked to performing arts, Hailey used to dance Ballet until she injured her left foot. You see how planets in Nakshatras inside the 7th house of the Navamsa can play out.
Also another thing I have noticed in this Nakshatra is the lip shape, they can have a pouty rectangular shaped lower lip. And women here somehow give off "island girl" vibes.
They can also have precognitive dreams, because they are very in tune with their higher self.
Rohini Nakshatra:
They love to wear oversized, baggy clothes and quality materials, because of Moon's influence, they love comfort. On the other hand they may also love to display their appealing physique.
They also love branded luxury items: cars, watches, clothes, perfumes. And they love food a lot, they can eat a lot (with Saturn influence they can be cautious and go on diets).
Also after eating food they will get tired, because of the Venus and Moon influence.
And they will always end up having no fixed work schedule in their career.
They can also become the most achieving at a young age, compared to their workmates.
DK planet or 7th lord in Rohini can give a spouse with sining and dancing abilities, Hailey Bieber has Moon DK/7th lord of D9 in Rohini. (Planets like Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars can give that as talents, Jupiter could make someone a teacher in that area and Saturn could give it as a career).
Moon influence:
Moon connected to any spouse placements or 7th house can give musical talents in the spouse.
Moon in the 7th house can also either give a cat like appearance to the spouse or a bunny like appearance. Both animals are symbolically connected to Moon, cats are connected because of the hightened intuition and bunnies are connected by the chinese folklore of the moon goddess who's companion is the bunny/rabbit.
Mars influence:
Having Mars as DK/7th lord can indicate a spouse who might be a soldier/police/athlete just anything physical movement related.
Saturn in Rohini:
This combination can cause consumption of Whiskey to enhance creativity. A person will love to drink to feel relaxed and sing and dance. If Mercury influence is also there as well it can amplify this even more.
Saturn in Rohini can also result in dryness, skinnyness, lack of water in the body, dry/flaky skin and acne or other skin irritations. But therefor a person will be very disciplined in following a quality skin care rountine.
Ketu Ruled Nakshatras: Ashwini, Magha, Mula
Will have out-of-body experiences/precognitive dreams/sleep paralysis
They can be very interested in ancient history/culture/scriptures. They're all about the past and the root of things. They may love to dig under the ground, that's why Magha especially can make someone an archeologist or historian or even a teacher.
Also Magha is strongly connected with royalty/royal lineage. They may not be considered a royalty but counting a number of generations back, their ancestors might have been powerful individuals.
In these Nakshatras a person will let their hair grow out. Because hair is linked with roots. And Ketu is all about the roots, because it's the tail of the dragon, the tail represents the underground while Rahu, the head of the dragon represents the sky. So Ketu ruled Nakshatras will keep their hair long, it makes them feel spiritually connected to their past lives. There is something they cannot let go of from their past lives.
Revati Nakshatra:
Another Nakshatra which is connected to royal lineage. (same as Magha here also).
If a man has his DK/7th lord/Venus in this Nakshatra, his wife can be taller than him.
They love to travel and their travel journeys will be comfortable, without any kind of major complications.
They will also be very successful outside of their home country.
With Venus here, a person will find their spouse in a foreign country or move to a foreign country after marriage for their spouse. The spouse can also be someone who travels a lot or is successful overseas. Or a person will travel a lot with their spouse.
Rohini, Mrigashira & Ashlesha Nakshatra (snake yoni or symbol):
As the Ascendant/DK/7th lord/Venus natives will always attract strong Rahuvian people.
They have very intense and hypnotic eyes. Either dark and big or bright and slender. If their eye color is dark they may tend to wear light colored contacts, which can give their eyes a snake like appearance.
Ashleshas will be lisping.
Swati Nakshatra:
They can jump very high and run very fast, they love being in the air/speeding through the air, because the deity is Vayu, he rules over the air (Rahu ruled Nakshatra-Sky connection).
Venus in Swati can make a person have a love for the sky in a creative way, also can give singing abilities, because music is carried through the air, they can also have a love for good sports shoes (for jumping) or high platform shoes (Venus-fashion & Swati heights). But these can also apply to the spouse, because Venus generally represents the spouse.
Swati can make a person be a fanatic for extreme sports related to heights like mountain climbing, bungee jumping and sky diving. Mars and Venus here can also make a person practice martial arts.
Also they just can't stay still, they are always moving, and can't keep still for a second. They look like they can jump off any second.
I will do more of these observations for the other Nakshatras that are left.
