Jade, my love, I don't even know where to start… But let's say I get it now, why you had to make sure and were trying to post the most perfect version of this chapter. What I was expecting for this chapter wasn't what I thought it'd be, but it was so much more and even better than whatever I was imagining and theorizing it to be. I came with the mentality that it was going to be such a sad chapter, when you posted the snippet for this chapter in my mind I was like “OMG, she is going back to Daejon, he will go to get her back, or maybe he's going show at her doorstep”, I'm happy with the outcome and how you executed it, but a bit sad 'cus I was excited to the possibility of having the townsfolk back in the story. Like, my bias is Minho, so logically in almost every SKZ fan fiction he's my favorite character no matter what, but in this series for obvious reasons, he isn't. I have missed him so badly for a while now in this story.

Anyway, cannot wait for when you'll bring the Daejon people back into the story.

Back to the topic at hand, this part felt so magical even with the present somber tone and coloring the story has. I love how you have made a tangible correlation between the emotions and feelings of both main characters with the seasons: summer was so warm and a fairytale-like dream and Hyunjin and YN felt just like that, a dream, and then we have autumn and winter, being just a constant feeling of dread and sadness until this point in the story. Then you came and changed the game completely and made winter warm. This chapter is just proof that your writing is just art in words.

I was just so pleased to read about Hyunjin taking this “fuck-this-all” position, he, now, knows what it is to lose YN somehow. So him rushing back to her at the lowest moment of her life was so fucking good to read. Just a few words and his mannerisms gave him away how fucking much he dreads to lose her. A great part of this part, you can just feel how distressed he is, even from her perspective. And loved the banter, her petty responses to him, she, trying to reply to him like the baddest bitch way known to man (even tho, we know she's just a cutie patootie). That was something I was hoping you could put in this story. Like, we have as a reference that you can do just that (Only Fools, I'm talking about you). Here, as well, they're just two fools in love. Something I adored so much in this chapter was my cute little YN, she's a character and a girl that we could select to have a personality. I would choose hers in a heartbeat. I know it sounds ridiculous, but at some point, she was just so pure, I think that's the word to describe her. Likewise, I just couldn't imagine her feeling sad. Despite that the feeling has always been in the back of the story, the whole setting even back in Daejon, with all the magic and beautiful landscapes and the happiness, the angst was there.

Talking about Hyunjin, again, my pretty boy, you deemed yourself this chapter. My pretty boy is just the definition of love. I just love him so much, even when he has frustrated the shit out of me in this series. Everything he said and did in this part is just so memorable. There are so many things I would want to point out about him, but that would mean I'll write a whole-ass essay, but it would take me an entire month to write it with my B-something-knockoff English. However, I just wanted to say that this Hyunjin is the best Hyunjin ever written, no Hyunjin ever could beat this fictional Hyunjin (well maybe another of yours). He's just comparable to the real one. I don't know how you managed to create a character so similar to what I've always imagined irl Hyunjin to be. He's just such a passionate and gorgeous boy, and his soul and words are one of the closest things to the perfect man (I mean, all of the kids are). As always, I'll patiently wait for the next part. You don't know how conflicted I feel thinking that the end is getting closer, but at the same time, I just want to see my Hyunyn being happy and the couple they deserve to be, just two people in love with each other. This couple is just perfect for each other. I'll go back to re-read this part as soon as possible. Love you, Jade, so much, for this story, and for sharing your art with us. I think this was just a vomit of words but I’m still so star struck and all over the place by the end of the chapter.

Finished Olypian Affair, heres all my various thoughts, spoilers if yall care about such things

I feel like the book moved very fast, perhaps thats a side effect of me reading it in about 12 hours but to me it didnt feel like that next book in a longer series, more like the second in a duology. As I was reading, and after while I was thinking about it, it felt like Things just Happened.

I distincly remember thinking that at some point in the next few books Espiria was going to turn on Aurora, only for that to happen the literal next page.

Everything in this one felt like a massive escalation from the first book. Everything feels bigger and higher stakes, which is not a bad in of itself but it felt like 3 books worth of escalation crammed into one.

We get the whole story on the Perilous, which like, neat, I kinda wish he'd dragged that out for longer, like, maybe only releaved the strictly releavent part and kept us in the dark for a bit longer.

Characters fuck alot in this book, like it feels a little excessive, it almost feels like Meatsmith has got somethin going on between this and warriorborn, idk maybe this is how is writting always is ive never read his other stuff.

I am once again expressing my hatred of it being a post-apoclypic earth, albeit not ours cus crystals were still a thing before the fall or whatever you wanna call it. I hate it, I really dont think it has to be earth, you can even still do the thing with Tyranima, it just feels a little lazy imo

That last chapter was fuckin wild. An archangel just, shows up, and has a conversation with the spirearch and Maul. Which like, why is Maul there??? It doesn't seem like he'd care I guess he does tho.

I kinda hate they introduced those crystal zombies, cus they are zombies, explictly have to go for the head, made of dead people, its just zombies, I hate that they put them in so early, cus either we are never going to see them again, or they are going to become a regular enemy which our heros can dispatch with ease. Neither of these options are good.

I do like that he left Gwen on the surface, I kinda expected the epilouge to go "oh and gwen got rescued shes fine"

Ferus is fucking dead!!!! That's just sad.

I do think on the whole everyone is charactized pretty well, no one feels wildly out of character. Some characters have changed but it's been 2 years if they hadnt it be weird. There were a few times were it felt Gwen was uncharcteristly slow on the uptake just so things could be spelled out to the audiance.

We got a little more lore on how the crystals are made, they grow em like the fuckin crystal grow kits from the craft store.

Abigal, I like that she's a character, I like that she's like a spy, I think thats cool, I love Hamish and Tilde. I hate where the book left her and Bayard, which i'd imagine is the point

There was no mention of Rook, at all, which like, yea he's a dick and I hated him, but It feels like he got retconed out of the story. Even when recounted the Pererlous Incident, they dont mention him. So either the admiralty wrote him into the Incident for whatever reason, or he has actually be written out of the story as a whole.

Overall I did like the book, despite what this may make it appear, I did enjoy it, now I guess we'll wait another 8 years for the next one!

YES! No way in hell did Luke actually want or expect Jess to up and leave without a word right after he said that. Whatever the reason, bc he was shocked and upset and just had a big reaction that he didn’t think through or he was trying to scare him into seeing reason or possibly a little bit of both, I still think that Luke expected for them to both get some sleep, cool off, and then try to have a much more reasonable discussion about where to go from there the next day. So, yeah, it’s really such a shame that Jess ended up leaving the way he did but I’m sure with all the things that he was dealing with (issues with Rory, his dad showing up, Luke’s big reaction to the news, and Jess’ own disappointment in himself for what happened, because it’s clear Jess has a lot of self hatred and he self sabotages but I’m sure he’s always beating himself up over all the things he messes up/does wrong, and it makes me sad to think of just how sad that poor boy must’ve been) that he felt like he needed to leave and that it would be the best thing for everyone involved.

I love what you brought up about season 4 about them both feeling rejected by the other cus I’ve never thought of it that way and it makes so much sense and it’s so sad :(

I’m very heavily of the belief that, no matter the issues that they had and the way that they both bottle up their real emotions, including ones of love and appreciation, and tease/make fun of each other, it’s clear that Luke and Jess loved each other (in a familial way, of course). Like by like halfway through season 2 as they’ve started to get to know each other and get used to living together and Jess’ rebellion of “I hate it here so I’m not going to connect with anyone or try to make it work for me” wears off I think they start to slowly kind of understand eachother and their similarities and even enjoy each others company at times. I mean, Luke is always trying to help Jess out, that’s why he took him in in the first place and why he allows him to come back after the accident, and the fact that Jess wanted to move back in after the accident and went to Luke to ask him to move back in is not only a testament to Jess’ feelings for Rory and wanting to stay in stars hollow to see her, but also it shows that Jess realizes he really has been better off living with Luke and the support system Luke provides that Jess has never had before. And also plenty of moments throughout where Jess helps out Luke like with fixing the toaster and encouraging Luke to go out with whatshername lawyer woman because he truly doesn’t want Luke to be lonely bachelor forever and also Luke showing up to Jess’ Walmart employee of the month ceremony! So sweet! They cared about each other so much!

And then season 4 is just so beautiful with Luke letting Jess sleep inside instead of in his car at the end of “a family matter.” Luke slipping money into Jess’ car before he leaves in “Nag Hammadi is where they found the gnostic gospels” (long title phew). GAH then my favorite episodes: “Luke can see her face” where he goes to New York to get Jess to come to Liz’s wedding and then Jess says he only came because Luke said it mattered to him and their bonding over their issues with relationships and Luke trying to help him and Luke giving Jess the self help book and in “last week fights, this week tights” (my fav episode of the whole series btw) when Jess helps Luke pick out a tie which is so little but still so cute and sweet and after the wedding when they have that amazing chat about appreciation and Jess wanting to pay him back for everything and their HUG. And then when we see them in season 6 they’re just so understanding and appreciative of each other and it’s just so perfect and beautiful.

So when people say they wish they had a better relationship, I get it to an extent bc it wasn’t always perfect and especially this moment that we were originally talking about (sorry I TOTALLY got off on a tangent) but also I think we have to acknowledge that the love that they had for each other was there from season 2 and it only blossomed and I think the ups and downs that they had throughout the series were necessary for them to understand each other and honestly for Luke and Jess to both understand more about themselves and have some personal growth.

Look at me, miss yapster over here so so sorry. But their relationship is like my favorite favorite thing in the show and I love it so much and I could talk about it forever. Also I tend to type how my mind works which is working at a mile a minute and I’m not going to read through for typos so I hope that all makes sense lmao!

Luke had an (unfortunate) habit of talking big but then never following through with his "rules" for Jess ("The door to the apartment is to remain open at all times!" and "When she's on the couch, you're on the chair!" ...and then a few weeks later he's letting them make out constantly only interrupting them at 10 minute intervals...). So I've often wondered if, when Luke told Jess "You gotta go," he didn't expect Jess to actually DO it. Like maybe he hoped that if he made a big threat, that would be the thing that would "scare Jess straight" and force him to "see reason" and agree to go back to school. Or he'd just get his big emotive reaction out, and then later calm down and come up with something. He didn't actually WANT Jess to LEAVE, he just wanted to scare Jess into doing what he was told. So, in Luke's mind, Jess would RATHER be homeless than stay with him and go to school. He had no idea Jess would actually take his ultimatum seriously, and was clearly devastated when he did. And this, I think, is the crux of all their fights in Season 4. They BOTH feel like the other one rejected them. Now, was that a stupid way for Luke to approach the situation? Yes! That is absolutely a Bad parenting strategy (one that an unfortunate number of parents take). But I think it comes down to a tragedy of miscommunication (or Bad communication) as SO MANY of the conflicts on this show do.

Rem might still threaten to do a murder but at the end of the day

No one fucks w/Light Yagami, and by extension, her ‘stuff’ (Misa).

(Obviously she’d still have problems humanizing other people, that’s just a core tenant of Light Yagami. In canon he even does it to himself by deifying himself, it’s kinda sad. Nobody is a person to him, not even himself. They’re all objects and you could probably link that back to his being so idolized and the percieved good he does in the world coming by way of his use.)

cus ofc Light would still be a suspect, L isnt that dumb and Light wouldn’t be stopped from killing Raye Penbar just because she has a uterus now.

(I do want to note though that Light really does have some lowkey queer gender vibes to me in canon, so obviously this Light would have those too.)

It would create more tension in the team tho, since them and Soichiro especially would have their ‘gotta protect womens (especially Chief’s Daughter)’ blinders on. Like can you imagine how those handcuffs would’ve gone if Light was a girl? Still cuffed to an older guy????

I do think this Light would be a more vicious and even angrier one. By way of her sex being what it is, she would have had to fight and scrape and connive all the more the respect of her father, other law enforcement, to be seen as the genius (who is therefore better than them) she is - Naomi Misora style.

The respect, authority, and autonomy that’s automatically given by way of being a guy in a patriarchy would be gone, and the expectations of her would be different therefore.

No doubt there’d probably still even be pressure for her to find a more fitting job than police detective, but I think she’d have won the respect of her father by the time the series starts.

He’d probably still have the “I do wish you’d do something less dangerous” thing but by that time Light would have wormed her way in by solving cases under their noses enough times that they’d have no choice but to see her as a benefit.

I think being on the other side of that line would enable her to relate to Misa in a way canon Light is straight up too sexist to do.

Without the Death Note’s influence, Light actually has genuine emotions that aren’t just Oh Depression, Oh Boredom like we see in the first episode. Taking that together with her comphet, and her proximity to a girl who really wants to be her girlfriend and worships her, of course she’d fall for Misa.

Which is to say of COURSE Misa still pursues her romantically bwahahahaha

Misa would only be momentarily startled that Kira isn’t a sexy guy and is instead a gorgeous, admirable, studious, athletic, beautiful, talented girl - who still murdered the guy who killed Misa’s parents.

Thrown at first, enough to do some self reflection, she’d still go over to Light’s house with the intention of Making That Girl Her’s.

And then Serial Killer by Lana Del Rey plays in the bg as they murder the patriarchy the bad guys. Most of the early season events would be pretty much the same but Light’s feelings for Misa, and

Misa actually being allowed to have some agency that’s not just scrapping with other women and serving men -coughbadatwritingwomencough-

that would change some events

and that is to say

if Light still dies at the end of the thing

She and Misa die together, Romeo and Juliet style, but only after a really good run at being serial killers together.

Kinda maybe a bit romantic :) You know?

Dont- dont hurt me with this Frankie affair series, please, my heart cannot handle a sad or angsty ending. Not when Frankie is RIGHT THERE.

Cus also something tells me that you are Frankies heart, and that man will never stop being actively and deeply in love with you. Now i dont know what connection or canonical ties to the events of the movie you planned on exploring, but however this goes sure makes the clear tension and consistent frustration Frankie has towards Tom the whole mission, be painted in a much more interesting light. Whether that would have occured during your marriage or after the marriage falls apart if that happens.

Cus Frankie seems to be the only one on the team who seems to rival Tom in leadership ability, and hes also the only one who doesnt seem to look to him as their leader like he had in the past. Like unknown to the movie, some events have strained that dynamic and Frankie tries to keep it quiet and together but theres clearly some kind of tension keeping them at odda with eachother. Like the rain scene when Frankie takes full responsibility for the shootings at the village being a bad mistake and puts the blame on himself. While Tom stays noticeably silent and almost seems angry or irritated by it. Props to Benny for being Frankies true bro and not letting him blame himself entirely but interestingly enough, Benny is also the only other member of the team to show similar lack of trust towards him. Someone in Bennys rank would normally never speak to a superior officer that way, but clearly theres something built up enough that after the compound fuck up hes had enough.

Im totally rambling in your inbox now and im sorry. Ive just always been interested in the clear split between the group of how they feel and interact with Tom, and how exactly that must have built up. And your story is just making me think like maybe theres more to the reasons behind the tension of these characters then just a bad mission, and how Frankie and Tom in the films have very little direct interaction compared all the others.

Like we understand from your series why Frankie feels this way buy it now has me wondering what happens that seems to have left Tom also feeling this angry tension towards Frankie.

Personally I have this HC that Tom looks down on him for the drug issues and doesn’t trust him, and I think Benny gets his back up about it because he adores Fish and knows his struggles. I don’t see Frankie and Tom having deep heart to hearts y’know, I see that more with Frankie and Benny so I like to believe Benny gets a bit defensive.

My series definitely builds on the strain of Tom and Frankie’s relationship and how the guys react to it. Tom also has suspicions about the affair and that only makes it worse, but yeah.

You and Sebastian were at the Marvel Studios all day because he had to do a lot of photoshoots for the new series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier", in which your boyfriend was the protagonist.

You loved to be able to be with Sebastian in his work, but after 3 hours you were super tired.

"If you want, you can go home. Take the keys, I'll take an Uber," he said, grabbing your face, giving you a kiss on the forehead and handing you the keys.

" I appreciate your concern, but I think I can handle another hour and go with you," you told him handing him back the keys.

"Okay love, but at least go get something to eat"

When he was going to tell you something, you got interrupted by his manager. "I hate to interrupt, but they need you Sebastian for one last shot." His face dropped.

you went to a store that you knew nearby to buy some.

"Where's the tiramisu?" he said in between the kiss.

"Why do you need the tiramisu?" you said pretending not to know.

you pulled him back in for another kiss. He pushed the kiss away making you moan.

"Y/n, the tiramisu?" he said impatiently

He pushed you, softly, onto the bed, making you be lying down.

" you could teach him Romanian," you said

" him?" he giggled.

" yes!!"

" no, first a girl and then a boy," he said smiling at you.

" Two kids?" you asked him

" well, yes, a boy and a girl, but if you don't want-"

" Two boys and one girl," you told him

" hell no," he said laughing

You spent the whole night arguing and laughing about your future making you both realize that this was all you wanted for life.

hi! It’s totally fair if you don’t want to answer this question for whatever reason but, do you think there are any drivers in F1 that are part of the LGBTQ+ community? I don’t want to speculate on anyone’s sexuality, but it is a bit disheartening at times to see no representation whatsoever in the sport that I love so dearly... at the same time, it’s nobody’s duty to become a symbol for the community just because they’re a part of it, so I’d understand if they wanted to keep that low key, especially considering the amount of fans that would hate them for that only. It just makes me sad sometimes, not gonna lie.

I'm not gonna speculate publicly in any specific way, obviously. But statistically, it is impossible that there have never been LGBTQ+ F1 drivers - and actually there were two out ones, in Mike Beuttler (who sadly died of AIDS) and Lella Lombardi.

In other series, there are openly out drivers - in fact W Series seem to be basically incapable of stopping the drivers getting together, which is awesome and they should do it. And also kinda gives a lie to the idea rivals wouldn't.

There is a split between women's and men's sports in that basically sporting ladies seem to be like "wow, fit women time to openly drool over each other" and men being more pressured to keep it strictly no homo. It's nice that F1 drivers lately have been definitely more comfortable with being affectionate to each other and with deviating from very restrictive ideas of masculinity, although obviously that does not in any way imply their sexualities or gender status.

I think there are many reasons to be optimistic that an F1 driver could come out. Motorsport's landscape has changed - and the world, too - but of course, as you say, being the first is a sucky job and not, heh, one of the good kind.

Would they face some challenges? For sure. Some locations would be difficult - the UK, for instance, if a driver came out as trans. God, just imagining the thinkpieces from TERFs has made me nearly pass out.

I am sure there are LGBTQ+ people in the paddock beyond, whether that's in the media cohort (I mean, lmao, I am typing this why do I always exclude myself lol) or in the garages. And of course, the fans. As much as F1 talks about (even pre-pandemic) existing in its own bubble, of course it does not and while demographics are often skewed towards wealth and white western europeans, that doesn't affect the distribution of LGBTQ+ people.

Will it be godawful for the person who takes the first step? Yeah. You can't get away from the fact casual homophobia is pretty rife in F1, I'm regularly appalled by the sort of shitty jokes members of the media - who you'd think might be a bit less stuck in the jurassic period - will default to. Lots of people in F1 think they're a bit hardcore, that that's part of the image of the sport and it comes with both a strict conservatism and edgelord tendencies.

I think, with the right support, though, they'd be ok. Drivers generally have much better support systems now than ever before and god knows, it's cus they need 'em. From social media to the immediacy of reaction, everything from onboards to team radio to their Insta likes is under scrutiny and of course, that's gonna feel pretty oppressive in some ways.

(I know I hate it, as someone who gets a low-level version of it on Twitter)

But would their team or sponsors or the sport at large lose faith? No. And there would be, in the torrent of horrible stuff that's inevitable with any of these things, such support and inspiration.

It's a bit of a burden, being a figurehead and it's very easy to see why, for example, Lewis shrugged it off for a lot of his career because fuck knows, everyone's got enough to be getting on with with just the basic challenges of the career let alone having to be a representative. And it's why, with aspects you're not able to hide, people struggle - whether that's race, gender or whatever.

Living in the closet isn't a very satisfying option, though; which is the most convincing argument for how there might not have been any LGBTQ+ drivers other than the ones we know about. But it's more likely they grinned and bore it, of course. History's littered with people who never got to truly live as themselves.

It's very good having someone like Matt Bishop in a prominent role in F1. Because he can speak beyond the theoretical; that a team can welcome a gay head of communications and the paddock will have to and can work with them. That he's in a relative position of power is great because it means people can't chat shit and that means for someone without that relative power, they're protected by extension.

Who knows when more LGBTQ+ people will come along to the sport - but I think there's reason to be hopeful that they can be there.

Date ideas with the obey my boys

I'm feeling kinda sad right now so I'm gonna post these date ideas I've had in my notes for forever ^^

Lucifer

Wine tasting

Well he gives off big mum energy so yeah

It's classy, it's elegant and I think it suits him well

Tipsy lucifer is affectionate lucifer

Origami/crafts

I feel like that he really enjoys making those little paper cranes, it's theraputic and they look nice

He's really good it at, teaching MC how to do origami would boost his ego a tonne, especially if MC has no idea how to do paper crafts

He would do the thing where he puts his hand on top of MC's and shows them how to fold the paper

Really it's just an excuse to try to fluster MC

Mammon

Drive in movie

Mammon for sure gives off drive in movie vibes, the kind where it's an old black and white horror flick

Tries to wrap his arm around MC, acting all suave

MC notices and leans into him, gets him all flustered

Mammon is notoriously bad with horror flicks, he tries to be all brave but hides behind MC for a good portion of the movie

Plus drive in movies aren't the most expensive dates either

Photoshoot

Now unlike the horror movie, he is in his element

He teaches MC how to pose for photos

They take plenty of matching outfit pictures together

No one knows, but he keeps a small passport sized photo of MC from their modeling session in his wallet

Whenever he's sad, he takes it out and gives it a quick kiss, always brightens up his day

Leviathan

Arcade games

He would love to take out his henry to the arcade

He's a seasoned cranesanity user, so he's in his element

If MC wants a specific prize from an arcade machine, you best believe he is going to get it

Will not stop until he gets it

May end up spending all his grimm on that machine

Actually loves those dancing arcade games, if you pick an anime op, he's already won

Go karting

Okay but this is totally his vibe

He would LOVE THIS

He's really tall so his knees would be really high up but he's having a great time

Gets super competitive with this, gets pouty if he loses, but after a quick kiss, he's fine

He'd want the pink go kart, it reminds him of ruri-chan

Satan

Botanical gardens

He would love this so much

It's nice and warm, the flowers are in bloom

He would take MC to a bench that's surrounded by rose bushes and such

It's a great place for him to talk to MC

He holds MC's hand and brushes his thumb over their knuckles, eagerly listening to whatever MC he's to say

He loves the scenery, but he loves being with MC even more

He would have prepared a picnic, with cute small sandwiches and fruit (cat shaped cus cute)

Art museum

He is a connesure of the arts

He loves looking into art history, any knowledge behind the painting and he's interested

He's an absolute art nerd and I love him for it

If he comes across a painting that he knows a lot about, he will go on a tangent about it

He'll apologise for talking so much (didn't want to be a bother), but MC assures him that they enjoyed hearing him speak

MC let's him nerd out as much as he wants for the rest of the date

Asmodeus

Thrifting

Asmo loves a good thirft shop

Sure he loves to splash out on his clothes and appearance in general

But he loves the joy of finding that perfect item of clothing, the one that you just can't find anywhere else

He'd find a bunch of items, and he'd do a little diy project with MC, tailoring their thrifted finds

He loves a good vintage moment

Mini golf

Okay hear me out here

I really think that asmo would like mini golf

One of the very aesthetic mini golf courses

He would stop at every course to take photos for his devilgram page

He would find you two the cutest golfing outfits possible

He loves how cute and dainty everything is

After the golfing, he and MC would stop at a cute little cafe for smoothies and gossiping chatting

Beelzebub

Now I'm a big beel stan and I don't like how his whole personality is just food

Hiking

He would love to take MC out hiking

He loves swing the sights, atop hike trails where the scenery is beautiful

He would help carry MC if they couldn't keep up

Just loves being with MC, loves every minute he spends with them

They talk, talk about silly things, stories from the human world, stories of the brothers and their mischief

MC gets tired after, so Beel carries them down on his back

Paining date

I feel like a relaxing watercolor painting date would be nice

He doesn't seem like the type to paint, but I love the idea of this big hulking guy, painting a cute dainty river

He really is a sweet guy, he decides that he wants to paint a landscape of MC's favourite season

He isn't the best at it, but MC can tell he put his heart and soul into that painting

Belphegor

Movie marathon

He would have a movie marathon up in the attic with MC

Pillows and blankets strewn everywhere, to make it as comfortable as possible

Would probably watch a series of sorts

Maybe harry potter, and laugh at how the human world portrayed magic

Would end up falling asleep curled up with MC in their huddle of blankets

Lego building

This one came to me a little randomly

But MC would get one if those big lego sets to do together

He would probably grumble a bit in the beginning

But after they started, he would become more interested and would actually want to finish it

While MC is looking for a certain piece, he would snipe they instructions away from them, and would only give them back after a kiss on the cheek

Part Four: Full Bloom

Summary: Concerned about losing Milena or anyone else, Sebastian makes a desperate request of his friend. Pairing: Sebastian Stan x Reader Word Count: 1905 Series Warnings: Death, angst, sadness. Lots of creative licensing, I’m sure. Chapter Warnings: Bit of a cliffhanger. Square Filled: This entire series will fill my realized feelings square for @marvelfluffbingo. A/N: I’ve much enjoyed writing this series, and I hope all of you enjoy reading it! The tag list is open; requests to be added can be done so here. There are bits and pieces of Romanian throughout the series, mostly from Google Translate and the few things I’ve picked up as I learn the language.

“Oprește cu agitația.”

Sebastian did his best to heed Y/N’s warning, but he couldn’t stop fidgeting. He was too nervous about what was going to happen and what he would be told when he walked into the lawyer’s office. Fortunately, he only had to wait a few more minutes before Philip Hobb, his longtime lawyer, stuck his head out of his office and beckoned Sebastian in.

“Please, have a seat,” he said, motioning to the chairs in front of the desk. “I’m sorry for the wait, telephone call went long. I’m so sorry to hear about Irina, Seb. How’s the family holding up?”

Sebastian looked at Y/N, then back to Philip. “We’re doing the best we can. Philip, this is my very good friend, Y/N Y/L/N. Y/N, Philip Hobb.”

The two of them shook hands, and then Philip got down to business. “I’ve already been in touch with the Hills’ lawyer. They are seeking joint custody, as you expected. But that’s not what Irina wanted.”

Sebastian shook his head. “No. Unfortunately, there was never anything on paper, but she had a conversation with my mother about what to do with Milena if anything ever happened to her. Milena’s father signed his rights away when she was born, but his parents chose to stay involved in her life. Irina was always open to that, and I, of course, don’t want to keep them from their granddaughter.”

Philip sat back in his chair, folding his hands over his abdomen. “I want to be sure, before we go through all of this, that you’re not trying to hold on to your sister by holding on to Milena. You can’t bring Irina back, and there’s a potential here for a little girl to go through a lot of hard things for you to only want to keep whatever piece of Irina you can grasp onto.”

Y/N reached out and squeezed Sebastian’s hand. Philip was speaking as a friend — one who was capable of speaking truths no one else could. She saw Sebastian’s eyes glaze over but he didn’t hold long to her hand.

“I just want to do what Irina would have wanted me to do.”

Phillip went back to the notes on his desk. “Okay then. Let’s lock down some particulars. I’ll get it written up and sent to their lawyer, we’ll go from there. Who has Milena right now?”

“After the funeral, we decided to let Milena decide where she wanted to go. She opted to stay with my parents.”

Y/N added, “But I think it’s because she knew Sebastian was going to be there. Maybe I’m biased, though.”

“That’s good to know,” Philip smiled. “I don’t mean to get personal, but are you two …?”

They both chuckled, used to the question by now. Sebastian clarified that they were only friends but also that the speculation was familiar.

“Guess we’ll cross that off as a tactic for our case then,” Philip teased.

Y/N exchanged a glance with Sebastian. “I’m sorry, what do you mean by that?”

“Oh, nothing serious, of course — really, it was a joke. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. Sometimes, like in the case of a single guy who wants to take custody of a little girl, having a woman around regularly helps. It’s nothing really, we’ve got plenty to help us out here.”

Philip moved the conversation on then, but the thought lingered in both Y/N’s and Sebastian’s mind well past the end of the meeting.

After the meeting, Y/N went back to the Waldorf. She was checking out the next day anyway, since her stay had become indefinite, and Sebastian had convinced her to stay in his guest bedroom for the time being. He went back to his parents’ house to retrieve their things. He would update Georgeta and Anthony on the situation and check in on Milena.

And Y/N would have time to think about some things.

Yes, she had wanted more than ever to pull Sebastian as close as she could over the last few days — since the moment he had called and told her that Irina was gone. She had missed him, so much, in the months since they had last seen each other. She appreciated how comfortable they were with each other, that they could show affection without the gestures being perceived the wrong way.

Except …

Philip Hobb’s question about whether they were together or not, and the teasing that followed, had put wheels into motion in her mind. Sebastian was an attractive man; she found him to be more handsome than most. He was kind, loyal, caring, and he made her laugh. She could be herself around him.

“That doesn’t mean anything,” Y/N chided herself as she packed the last few of her belongings into her rolling carry-on. “Your emotions are running high because you want to help him. Sebastian is a good friend, we’re very close. That’s it, case closed.”

By the time she reached Sebastian’s apartment, she had almost convinced herself of that. Scolding herself for reading more into their relationship than what was obviously there, she let herself in with the copy of the key Sebastian had given her when they returned from their coffee date that morning, unpacked a few things, and laid down to take a nap. Once she was rested, she would have more energy to convince herself that she was being overly-emotional and needed to get it together.

The meeting with the lawyer took a lot out of Sebastian, but there was no avoiding his parents’ questions when he returned. He explained that Philip was going to do his best to get him at least residential and primary custody of Milena, if not full custody with visitations for the Hills.

“It’s not going to be pretty, I would imagine,” Sebastian sighed, rubbing his eyes. “Is the little one napping? I might crash out with her for a while before I meet up with Y/N again later.”

Anthony shook his head. “She’s with the Hills. Since she’s been here a couple of days, they asked to see her.”

That was well and fair, but Sebastian admitted to himself that he was afraid, for some reason, that the Hills would never give her back. In the same way he would never see Irina again, what if he never saw Milena again?

Get out of your head, he scolded himself. Hadn’t Philip specifically warned him that he couldn’t fight for custody of Milena only to hang on to Irina? No, it wasn’t that. No one, not even Milena, would ever replace the bond he had with his little sister. That didn’t mean, though, that he wanted to lose anyone else.

As he gathered his things and made sure all of Y/N’s were packed into her bag, he pushed out all thoughts of losing Milena. That made room for thoughts about his friend, though, and the things Philip had said during the meeting.

Y/N had been his first phone call after he got off the phone with his mother that day. He had felt like he was drowning — he was still only treading the surface, occasionally coming up for air — and she was the thing that kept him fighting. He knew that he would push through for his mother and for his niece, but Y/N was the push he needed to put in more effort than simply going through the motions. She was the person he could lean on when it felt like everyone else was leaning on him; she was home when he felt like he had nowhere else to run.

“Keeping thinking like that, you’re going to ruin the best friendship you’ve got,” he mumbled to himself as he shouldered both of their bags.

But the idea that had seeded in his mind and sprouted up once before grew more. Shaking his head, Sebastian headed to bid his parents see-you-later. He would nap at home.

Sebastian smiled as he entered his apartment. He could hear music coming from the kitchen, could smell whatever Y/N was cooking. She was singing along to the words, an older song that she had overplayed over the years. He didn’t mind.

After dropping the bags in their respective rooms, he went to the kitchen, and greeted her. She turned to smile at him before going back to the rice she was cooking on the stove.

“Hey, I wondered when you were gonna be home! I thought maybe you were avoiding me.”

Sebastian shook his head and leaned on the counter near where she was standing. “Not at all. Had to catch my parents up with everything, took the long way home to do some thinking. Milena is back with the Hills. They asked to see her.”

Y/N turned down the heat on the rice and put a lid on the pan. She took one good look at Sebastian and threw her arms around his neck. She held on tight, and Sebastian didn’t hesitate to hold her back even tighter.

“Milena’s going to come back. You said yourself that if you have custody of her, you’ll let the Hills see her. You’re not going to lose her, they’re not going to take her. That doesn’t do them any good.” She kissed his cheek. “Everything is going to be okay, Seb. Maybe it’s not going to be easy. But it’s going to be okay.”

She stepped away to tend to the rice, but Sebastian held her tighter. She resumed her embrace, nuzzling against his neck and not pulling away until he was ready.

When supper was ready, they ate together, mostly in silence. Y/N didn’t want to push any issues that were already sensitive for Sebastian, and he had far too much on his mind to talk about much of anything. They cleaned up together, watched a little television, then Y/N excused herself to go to bed.

“Don’t stay up too late, all right?” she warned him, kissing his cheek. “You’ve had a crazy few days. If you don’t get some sleep, you’re not going to be able to keep up with Milena when you get her.”

Sebastian nodded. “I’ll go to bed soon, I promise.”

But it was hours past midnight and he was still sitting on the floor in front of the couch, not even aware of what was playing on the television. He was staring at the picture that had been taken a minute or two after Irina had told him she was pregnant with Milena. He had been staring at that picture for … he didn’t even know how long it had been at this point. Maybe if he stared at it long enough, he’d find some answers to the thoughts racing around in his head. Another hour passed and found him still in the same place he had been for most of the evening.

“Seb? You okay?” Y/N was standing a few feet away, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

Sebastian opened his mouth several times before he looked again at the picture. He thought about Irina, he thought about Milena, he thought about Y/N. He could only think of one thing to say, so he let the words roll off his tongue.

“Y/N, would — will you marry me?”

thank you once again @yibobibo for tagging me ♥ even if, like I said, this is pure torture. I have so many sons that I’ve given up on counting them sigh but here goes.

favourite male fictional characters.

I took it that this meant ten so am going with that (tho am not gonna try and put them into order). am also sticking to all the characters I loved this year. and gonna ramble and add gifs so cutting it here.

1. Liu Sang

The Lost Tomb Reboot/Reunion: The Sound of The Providence

I have so much love for this boy it’s not even healthy. it’s a bit funny tho bc once I started tltr, I didn’t really like him and almost forgot about him as the first season ended. he just felt so annoying and bitter in what I saw him, even if I did get that he had a Tragic BackstoryTM (I felt for him but well. tltr really made him hard to like at first). but then they brought him back in the second season with his sad puppy eyes and inability to handle his thoughts on wu xie and being all touch-starved and pitiful and whatnot and baam, I had the adoption papers ready. he’s wonderful and so strong and so smart and amazing. and liu chang as his actor has been wonderful (and he’s so pretty my god, have you seen him??)

2. Shen Wei

Guardian

never did I expect to just. fall into this hole after a year? I remember what a mess I was when I first watched guardian over a year ago, right after finishing the untamed. I was in shambles even as I knew how it would end. and now I’ve done this all again while also reading the novel and. my love for shen wei, especially bc it’s zhu yilong acting as shen wei? astronomical. I want to write poetry about him and his stupid responsibilities that he chooses to carry silently and his devotion to zhao yunlan and his love for his ppl and his didi and. I hope that one day I manage to write weilan bc I have this one idea and you can come pry it from my cold, dead fingers if it doesn’t get out there (am also super happy about the edit I made bc my god does he deserve at least that)

3. Cloud Strife

Final Fantasy VII

ok so stepping into the video games territory now. I was waiting for the remake like crazy and it was everything to me once the quarantine hit during spring. the game is so beautiful and I felt like I looked at this gorgeous boy once and was ready to give him my heart (tbh am quite sure he owned my heart before I even learned to know him). he is tragic in so many ways (I’ve only scratched the surface of all of his pain I know) and I wish I could just. hug him a lot. he is kind and cares very deeply even if he hates to show it and I love it how remake showed him also just being a human disaster (some of his scenes are just. peak comedy). I would kill for his smile (I have already cried for it a dozen)

4. Geralt of Rivia

The Witcher (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)

if there’s one grumpy, brickwall of a man I love, it’s geralt. I affectionately call him “papa wolf” while playing witcher 3 and his voice in it does things to me (I am just so fond of him ok, begone you dirty fuckers). I got introduced to him through the books and adored him in them bc he is so prickly and sarcastic and still so full of love even if he will never admit to it. he is the father figure I wish I could have in real life. (and yes, I’ve seen the tv series (or at least a couple of the first episodes) and it looks stunning but. this is my version of geralt and that’s the hill I will die on)

5. Xiaoge

Zhang Qiling, Daomu Biji (The Lost Tomb 2)

(wow finding a gif for him was a pain, apparently I gotta learn how to gif or?) ah, my dear boy who I’ve ended up just calling xiaoge bc he seems to prefer it over his real name/title/whatever zhang qiling really is. I got introduced to him through tltr where we really didn’t get to know that much about him bc he was just... there. huang junjie was absolutely stunning tho and his soft smiles made me super fond, but only in the lost tomb 2 did I really fall in love with xiaoge as a character. I was surprised tbh bc I didn’t expect it to be this drama? I had so many doubts about the cast in tlt2 but they all delivered! and I think cheng yi’s xiaoge is now my favorite bc he somehow captured that softness and the pain of him? (and we do not talk about that buxun storyline tyvm) tho now that ultimate note is on the way, I gotta say that xiao yuliang does a wonderful job as xiaoge too!

6. Wu Xie

Daomu Biji (Ultimate Note)

(sorry we have to go with a pingxie gif now but maybe it’s only fitting) tbh it’s hard to choose my favorite version of wu xie. I think all of the actors for him have done amazing job showing wu xie in different parts of his life (all of them are very distinct but still feel like the same person) but currently zheng shunxi takes the lead. I really wanted to put the reboot version of him here (bc I love that mature, relaxed and somehow very soft version of him and the angst is phenomenal and the thoughts he has about death... yeah) but I already have zhu yilong’s face here once so :’D wu xie is just one of those characters you cannot not like. he is so strong, so kind, so stubborn, so wonderfully stupid sometimes and in need of careful protection. I rewatched k project this spring bc a) it’s one of my favorite animes ever (it just looks stunning with all the colors) and b) I love yashiro to bits. I remember falling in love with him when I first watched k project many years ago bc he was just so kind and bright. this time though, I ended up seeing another side of him and my god did I cry. he is... so sweet. he cares for others so deeply and is ready to sacrifice so much for them and his love for his two clansmen... yeah. I think I finally saw the tragedy of him too, all the pain and loneliness and insecurity he decides to hide behind his smile and obnoxious personality. he reminded me a lot of myself and watching him made my heart bleed in a good way

9. Qi Tiezui

Ba Ye, The Mystic Nine

(wow am going to riot for the lack of all the gifs hhh) yes, we’re continuing with the dmbj universe that sucked me in big time this year. the drama of the mystic nine wasn’t probably that earth shattering for me as it somehow got boring more than once but I did love ba ye to bits. he was just... so nice? I got it that he was somehow this “comedic relief” in the drama with all of his funny scenes and ridiculous mannerisms but I could see the brilliance of him. he is warm and smart and kind of a romantic too and he cares for all of his friends so deeply? it was also sweet how protective of him his two zhangs were (does that run in the family? the tendency to imprint into one smart but disastrous man and keep him safe? maybe) and I really hope I knew more about him bc he seemed to have a lot of knowledge and a lot of impact to ppl’s lives (I yelled when they mentioned him in ultimate note, I miss him ;;)

Dragon Age Inquisition

(yes I’ve been replaying DA:I this year, this counts!) another darling boy! my lovely sass master son! I have so much love for him and his story in DA:I. he is my favorite companion (and his romance is my favorite too, probably obvious in the way am currently romancing him for the third time) and he has given me a lot of strength. the way he stands up against his father, how he’s ready to reform his homeland instead of walking away, how he’s so caring for those he sees struggling... it’s very warming and I feel like I’m safe with him. it feels a bit silly to say that but he really is that comfort character I will seek out when I just want to know am doing fine :’) (and I am so excited to see him again in DA4! probably?)

yes I cheated a bit (with my own rules lol) to fit li cu here. I didn’t really expect to like him or tomb of the sea as much as I did once I started it? I’ve seen leo wu elsewhere before this (battle through the heavens, nirvana in fire) and his face always makes me think about a sad puppy so maybe I just grew fond over li cu instantly bc he was... so hurt? the first episode really slaps you in the face with all of it, showing him being abused, wounded, kidnapped, tortured, used and then just very, very scared and broken. he continues being that throughout the whole drama and I feel like tomb of the sea (or sand sea or sha hai idk) is the darkest and angstiest story in the dmbj universe. I know it deserves to be bc this is a dark time for wu xie but... my darling li cu. I wish him only happiness ;; he was so strong and smart and wonderful in this and it was just so amazing to watch him grow and find his own place in the world just bc he did something himself (even when he got dragged into all of this bc of wu xie) also I support the wu xie adopts li cu -agenda

I just find kinship in all of the characters who are on this list. and I feel like I aspire to be as strong and as kind and as loving despite all the pain I’ve been put through.

warnings: more of that gay shit, im high so the writing is bad (well the writings always bad), angst, cursing, mentions of depression, more of me being collectively obsessed w both Euphoria and Outerbanks

Kie wondered if perhaps she should call 911. Her chest was hurting so much that she was so sure it was a heart attack. She’d even stayed up at 3 AM googling everything she was feeling and what it could possibly mean but she only ended up self-diagnosing herself with cancer. It probably wasn’t cancer.

“Kie...sweetheart?” her mom stood at her doorway.

Kie hummed from where she was buried under her covers.

“Baby, do you need anything?”

“Mmmno...”

Kie waited for her door to shut before she peaked over her shoulder to see if her mom had actually left. Seeing that the woman was gone, Kie sighed and turned over to lay on her back. She tried to think about the last time she felt this terrible. Physically she was probably fine, she’d felt worse before (the pain in her chest really wasn’t the worst of it). Emotionally and mentally? That one was kind of hard to pinpoint.

Her generation was practically founded on not being the mentally strongest. As fucked up as that sounded, considering how depressing shit was because of the older generation, she thought she was pretty justified in her thinking. She didn’t want to think too hard about it.

“Fuck....” she mumbled as she felt her lip quiver.

Kie sucked in her cheeks and tried to blink away the tears gathering at her eyes.

She’d been in bed for 3 days now. Meaning it’s been 3 days since she kissed you and ran. Kie instructed her mom that if anyone came around she didn’t want to see them. Kie’s mom was reluctant of course, she didn’t want her daughter isolating herself willingly when she knew that being alone was something she’d struggled with before. But she followed her daughter’s wishes.

Even if that meant turning you away more than once in the past three days. __________________

“Sexuality is a spectrum. It’s not like anyone’s 100% straight or 100% gay.”

Kie made a face as she laid her head against your shoulder. The two of you had started binge-watching Euphoria as soon as all the episodes had gotten released and it was now 3 am and the two of you were well into the show.

“There are people who are definitely 100% gay,” Kie argued and you hummed in response, trying to pay attention to both her and the show, “One of my cousins is 100% gay. Women do not and could not ever do it for him.”

You paused the show as you realized you couldn’t multitask in this situation.

“I don’t think she even really realizes what she’s saying Kie,” you explained once you noticed how bothered Kie seemed to be by the line. Kie didn’t even really understand it herself but she was heated. Kie wasn’t really one for staying in and watching shows. If anything your entire friend group tended to not stay in and do stuff like that. You and the boys didn’t really have subscriptions to streaming services (sometimes you didn’t even have working cable to watch TV) yet you had seen the trailers for the show and had insisted that the two of you watch it. Kie couldn’t really say no to you.

“I don’t know, for a show that’s representing so much, that seems really out of place. I don’t know what the writers were thinking.”

“I mean Maddy’s a character who’s just trying to calm her aggressive abusive boyfriend down. I don’t think she herself understands what “Sexuality is a spectrum’ means. I don’t think the writers are putting it off as anything bad.”

Kie could feel herself calming down as you spoke to her. You had that weird effect on her.

“Do you get what it means?” the question came out before she could even really think about it and Kie felt her chest tighten up in instant regret.

As open as the Pogues were with one another, it was just different when it came down to deep shit. JJ despised talking about his dad, Pope rarely opened up about his anxiety and the pressure he felt, the topic of Kie’s year at the Kook academy wasn’t even an option, John B denied any negativity on the topic of his father, and you avoided even saying the words “mom” or “dad” when it came to your own parents.

The topic of sexuality wasn’t exactly a common conversation topic.

Kie wasn’t sure what she was afraid of. Would you connect the question back to her sexuality? Would that connection reveal her feelings for you? Would you scoff at the idea of believing Kie loved you?

She knew that she wasn’t afraid of any type of homophobia. Especially not from you.

“Yeah I mean remember when Kat was explaining it to her. She said at the end of each spectrum is gay and straight. Maddy probably just understood wrong cus her boyfriend’s an asshole. But yeah like sexuality is a spectrum,” Kie blinked at that, “I mean like I’ve never dated a girl but I’m not on the 100% straight part of the spectrum. If being gay was a choice, I wouldn’t like men at all.”

Kie didn’t really accomplish much that night. You were still opposed to the idea of love. You still didn’t know about her feelings. Nothing had really changed.

But that night, Kie felt happier than she had in a while.

Kie recalled the episode of Euphoria where Rue had gone through a depressive episode and it led to a kidney infection. Kie was terrified of the idea as a whole and had forced herself to get up and use the bathroom.

Pushing the bathroom door open she dragged her feet as she made her trek back to her room. It was at the most a few feet but damn did it make her tired. Her head felt heavy on her shoulders and her body ached. She wouldn’t be surprised if she’d somehow caught a fever in the midst of all of this. She’d forced her body through an entirely different routine for the past three days.

“Jesus Kie.”

Kie jumped at that and nearly screamed at the sight of JJ.

“Shit! JJ what the hell are you doing here?! You scared the fuck out of me!”

“Sorry jeez,” JJ put his hands up in defense, “We were worried and your mom wasn’t letting anyone see you so I snuck in through your back door,” JJ’s casual way of speaking left Kie speechless.

“What the fuck JJ....Don’t you have like work? Or something better to do on a Saturday than break into my house?”

“Well I have today off actually. John B and Pope are both working and (Y/N)’s sick too so I don’t-”

“Wait what?” Kie backtracked for a moment, “(Y/N)’s sick?”

“Yeah I mean I don’t know-”

“How do you not know JJ!”

“I just-I don’t know, (Y/N) just said she was sick, why are you yelling at me?!”

Kie pressed her hands to her face in frustration. Even when you weren’t around her you were still somehow affecting her emotionally.

“JJ I really cannot have you here right now ok, I need you to go,” Kie motioned to her door but JJ wasn’t having it. Kie hadn’t spoken to any of them in the past 3 days and he knew it had something to do with you. You weren’t telling him anything either but he was more observant than you thought. You had fallen off the face of the earth at the exact same time as Kie and the only time you responded to any of his texts was when you were telling him you couldn’t hang out with the Pogues because you needed to check on Kie.

“No ok I’m not dumb, did something happen between you and (Y/N)? Are you two fighting or something?”

“No JJ-”

“Then what? Did someone break the fucking girl code?”

“NO!”

“Did she hook up with a guy you called dibs on-”

“I KISSED HER!”

Kie sucked in a breath as she and JJ looked at each other in the eye. The shock was clear on his expression.

“I kissed (Y/N)...because,” Kie’s shoulders shook, “Because I love her. But she-she won’t love me back.”

“What...you don’t know that Kie,” JJ tried to soothe as Kie began to sob, her hands shaking.

“I do, ok, I do know. (Y/N) has been...hurt so much, and I wish I could help her fucking love again, as cheesy as that sounds, but she has been pretty straightforward about how she feels about crap like that.”

JJ clenched his jaw and fidgeted with his hands. He was completely out of his element in this type of situation. He wasn’t exactly the best example of anything that regarded relationships or even opening up about feelings and here was his best friend venting to him about his other best friend. If he was being completely honest he thought he was going to have this conversation with Pope about Kie, not Kie about you.

“I love her JJ...” Kie sobbed and JJ licked his lips then his eyes and attention flickered off to the side at the sight of movement.

Kie turned at that and back into her room and nearly into JJ at the sight of you standing in her doorway.

You bit at your cheek as you looked at the two of them.

“Hey Kie....”

Fantastic ending to a very good book its, definitely a different energy from the third but I'm really enjoying this I'm still excited as hell!!! I got worried things would get kinda bad from here but nope!!!! Very fun stuff for now this is very very good and I am enjoying it

This is definitely one of the most fun arcs I've read so far!!! The drama the stakes the little moments everything is tying together really well into a very fun story I'm enjoying a lot!

I worry for Twigpaw and hope for her happiness, and Violetshine too, hope her and Hawkwing deal well with missing her. Tree is being interesting. Alderheart wasn't much of a focus here but always fun to see him trying to solve the damn prophecy no leaders seem to care about. Mousewhisker was okay??? Lots of very fantastic turns for all events and uh let's see where this all goes next!!!

AAAHHH I DIDNT KNOW YOU HAD SUCH A THING AGAINST UNCOMPLETED FICS IM SORRYYY- BUT IM VERY VERY GLAD YOU LIKE IT, ITS ONE OF MY FAVORITES AHAHA. The relationships are all done so well and Atsushi is lovely as always and the Dazatsu is just,, uuuggghhh, and I? Personally thought the use of his tiger form (and later Kyouka!) as what’s essentially a public bodyguard and escort service was amazing? But also Atsushi trying to hum to pretend he’s purring makes me saaaddd- It’s so good,, (Nyanon, 1/6)

I’m hoping they update again soon! But seriously, super sorry if you don’t like reading uncompleted stuff. If you’re fine with it, though, there’s another Dazatsu rec I have, though- Also on AO3! It’s called tigress, and it’s by lavendergravity. It’s about transgirl!Atsu (because she changes her name to Atsuko in this) coming out to the ADA, everyone is amazing and supportive (even Akutagawa it’s great), there’s a chapter with Lucy, and! Dazai’s reaction to her gender is so so so cute and you’ll love it if you’re up for stuff like that! I’m sorry for rambling it’s just. Another one of my favs ahaha. Anyways, I could see it being kinda annoying, I guess? But I’ve always been a bit jealous because languages have always been a fascination of mine! But I can’t remember anything? Though admittedly the twister thing was very very cute- But still!!! I want more~ But, moving on from that- I like to imagine that the ADA has a contest for who’s heard, like. The weirdest thing when he’s sleep talking? Kyouka can’t participate since she lives with the man but she gets to be the judge. Dazai is also judge because he’ll Cheat otherwise. Anyways Atsushi is the best goddamn thing since sliced bread and I WILL fight people to prove it. (Nyanon, 5/6)

But, onto my next General Atsushi Concept: He likes to do domestic chores with the people he loves! On his own, it feels a bit like the orphanage, so he doesn’t like doing it then, but cooking with, say, Kyouka? Cleaning the ADA building with Fukuzawa? Filing paperwork with Kunikida? Folding clothes with Dazai? It makes him feel close to everyone! He’s kinda embarrassed about it though, he’s worried he’ll get made fun of. (Nyanon, 6/6)

Hey everyone, this is part one of my full Endgame review, hope you enjoy! My blog is now officially no longer spoiler free (I mean it’s been a week, if you haven't seen it by now then wyd???). I fully have no words to describe this film. It was such a satisfying end I barely even knew I needed, and I have so much I wanna talk about, so strap in cus this is gonna be a long ride.

I think I'm just going to do the same layout as my infinity war posts, with one for character arcs and the there for memorable events/moments.

Let’s start with characters. I’m going to talk mostly about the main six, and anyone else just a brief few things.

Thor

“I’m still worthy!”

I have been seeing alooooot of hate for the way Endgame handled Thor’s character, and I have to completely disagree. We’ve become so comfortable with seeing Thor as the most powerful Avenger, the one who was fine when his mother died, father died, brother, best friend etc that it was crucial to see that this was never actually the case. Thor’s decent into alcoholism, obesity and depression showed he was never really okay with everything that’s happened, he only bottled it inside till it all became too much, and having it healed by a chat with his mother was the perfect way to reach his arc. His relationship with his mother has been so overlooked by the marvel fans (me included) and it was so special to see this heart warming moment between them. When he said “I love you Mum.” to her my heart BURST and my eyes suddenly got very teary, not to mention the added heartbreak that he knew it was the day she was going to die. Overall, although yes, It was comical to see him in this state, that was not the only point to his storyline, it was about seeing a more emotional side to his character, a side which proves he isn't just a ‘tough guy’ who can handle the force of a star and wield lightening. He just as emotionally unstable as the rest of us, and needed his family back (both blood and The Avengers), and a reminder that he was still worthy of Mjolnir to set him back on the right path again to greatness.

His passing of his kingship of Asgard to Valkyrie was also important. Although the Thor franchise had the most perfect beginning and ending, starting with Thor becoming king of Asgard when he was childish and irresponsible and ending with him becoming King when he was actually prepared, the title of king was still not something he chose, and with Valkyrie there to be extremely capable of the role and eager to take it, it makes sense now to allow Thor to go on to actually live the life he wants, and become the true hero his mother tells him to be. I feel he suits the role of a hero who fights the bad guys more than a sensible noble king. I desperately hope he is in Guardians 3, as I think a Quill/Thor bromance is about to blossom beautifully.

Natasha

“I used to have nothing, then I got this family.”

I did not see Natasha’s death coming, like not from a million miles away and it BROKE ME. I actually cried at it more the second time I went to see it. We as an audience forget how she really has no one except The Avengers, they are her one true family, and this is emphasised in the scene on Vormir when she explains how she didn't even know her own father's name. Natasha has always been great in every film she's been in, and has been integral to the development of the MCU, however her role in Endgame was something else. Seeing how broken she was over the snap and seeing how she felt it was her responsibly alone to keep track of the events happening across the whole planet shows how seriously she takes her role as an Avenger and how much she wants to earn the title. I’ll talk more about the scene on Vormir in my next post, but it was really something else. The fact it was Clint she goes with was so important, her best friend. The line from him in the guardians’ ship “this is a long way from Budapest” was such a great call back to the first avengers film, and reminds us of the long history the two share.

When it was obvious one of them was going to die I knew it was going to be her, which is very telling of what I internally think of her character. She would never have let Clint die whilst he had a wife and children at home. Natasha sacrificed herself so that half of the universe could survive, as did Tony. Everyone alive in the MCU owes their life to her, and that is an incredible legacy for her character to leave. She will be desperately missed, but her new film coming out, despite (I assume) being a prequel will be a welcome look into her life again.

Clint

“I wish I could tell her we won.”

Opening the film on Clint losing his family was a clever way of reminding the audience of the loss experienced by everyone in Infinity War, not just the characters we followed. It was also interesting to see Clint’s darker side. On his mission to rid the world of the criminals who avoided dusting whilst innocent lives were taken, he murders what we can only assume is hundreds, showing the extreme anger and sadness he was feeling over the loss of his wife and children. It is Tony later in the film who says to Pepper “we got lucky.” in reference to the fact they still had each other, Clint had the least luck, losing three children and his wife, we can understand why he turned to such eratic violence.

Once reunited with The Avengers he continues to have a huge role in the film, especially driven by both his desire to bring back his family, and also avenge Natasha’s death which he most likely feels very guilty for. The moment when they all return form the quantum realm except her, and Clint is seen crying is very emotional, and his role in the fight against Thanos is not one he takes lightning. Clint even carries the Infinity Gauntlet for a large proportion of the final fight scene, we thank him for his incredible service! Endgame was definitely Clint’s film. He had a big part in many of the most emotional/nail biting scenes, and dint just spend the whole thing under the mind control of the main villain! Really glad he got to shine through and find his spotlight, and I can't wait for what the Hawkeye series will have to offer.

Banner

“I put the brains and the braun together.”

Okay so when I first saw the Doctor Hulk combo I HATED IT. I remember turning to my friend in the cinema and just going “I hate it I hate it I hate it get it away from me” but then by the end of the film I won't lie, I loved it. I love that he now has the best sides of both banner and Hulk, the funny/smart/kind side, put together with the incredible strength of The Hulk actually makes for a pretty powerful avenger, even standing up to Thor at one point when he asks him to take his hands off him. Banner had some great comedy bits, including when he makes fun of Scott when the kids don't wanna take a picture with him, and the hilarious part when he punches the taxi in New York, but also some important emotional roles. His upset when he discovers Natasha is dead is evident, explaining how he misses her to Steve later in the film, and this is definitely used as a drive for what he goes on to do. He sacrifices his life and uses the gauntlet to bring everyone back, BANNER DID THAT. Can we start appreciating him more now???? THANKS. No but seriously this was a very important moment for him, and was like the finale of the great character arc we have seen over the last 3 films he has been in. In Ragnaork he struggles with his relationship with the Hulk, still being unable to control when he changes from Hulk to Banner, stuck in either when least convenient, nd always under the control of Hulk. In Infinity War, it’s almost like the two are so connected, and hulk is so aware of Banner’s experience that he begins to control when he doesn't want to come out, rather than when he does. The two are much more like a duo, understanding of each other but stilll not necessarily working together. in Endgame they finally merge, forming a mutual relationship where each benefits wonderfully from the other. I’m really happy for Banner reaching this state. I don't know if his character will appear in anymore MCU films to come, but his character arc has certainly reached a satisfying end, and I believe, despite the sadness of losing Natasha, he has a reached a place of peace and happiness.

Tony

“I love you 3000.”

THE BIG SAD. Still can't believe he is dead. The corner stone of the MCU, the man who made it all happen, how can we ever thank Tony Stark enough? short answer: we can’t, but I'll damn well try. Tony Stark has had perhaps the greatest character arc of them all. Growing from being an arrogant, selfish, greedy businessman who sold weapons and funded wars now sacrifices his life for the entire universe, despite knowing he will leave behind his child and wife alone. It is so painful watching the film for the second time, seeing how desperate he is to not lose what he’s got (Morgan), knowing the whole time what is to happen a the end, yet also a sense of pride emerges. It is heartbreaking to know he will in fact die, but also incredible to know that even despite all his personal feelings, he will always put his family, The Avengers and the rest of the beings in the universe before him because THAT is who Tony Stark is. it doesn't matter who he once was, he has grown beautifully as a character, and has the hero’s death he properly deserves. When Pepper said “you can rest now.” to him I absolutely BAWLED. very good. Awful and painful, but very good.

Also just Tony as a dad, although we didn't get to see it for very long, was a great position to see his character in. He keeps that classic Stark sense of humour “go to bed or I'll sell your toys” whilst also it is immensely clear to see how much being a father has matured him. Although in reality, he is not only a father to Morgan, but Peter too, and choosing to have him die in front of him was truly a STAB to the gut, but also important I think for Peters development now. He will have to go it alone now, without the support of his guardian, which will be a good way to ensure his character can grow independently. Stark was clearly torn up over Peter’s death in a way only a father would, and Peter im sure will carry this bond with him for as long as he lives. I hope to see Morgan and Peter connect in Far From Home, that would be really special, and the perfect way of carrying Tony’s memory.

Thank you to Tony, and RDJ for the incredible 11 years in the MCU, we just could no be here without you, you can rest now, but know you are in our hearts forever.

Steve

“You gonna tell me about her?”

“No, I don't think I will.”

Guys okay so I cried at Tony and Nat’s death, but NOTHING got me like Steve’s final scene let me TELL YOU, but first we will start earlier on.

Steve has a very classic role int he first half on the film, comforting Nat when she needs it, helping Tony, devising the plan etc but he really shines in his trip to New York, the final battle scene, and of course his finale.

The scene where he fights himself was really great, and the lines “I can do this all day” “yeah I know” was AMAZING! Not to mention the iconic callback to the elevator scene with the added ‘hail hydra’. The Russo Brothers did an excellent job in ensuring the revisited all the best parts of cap’s time in the MCU in Endgame for sure. But, the best bit came in the final fight scene WHEN HE LIFTED MJOLNIR. I SCREAMED. I genuinely don't think I have ever been so excited in an MCU film in my life, when the hammer came flying through the air I thought at first it was going to be Captain Marvel (which would have been cool too) but when it was him I YELLED. I simultaneously couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing whilst also thinking it was the most obvious thing ever. OF COURSE Steve can lift the hammer, of course he is worthy. The added line of Thor saying: “I knew it!” was just perfect too, with their mid-battle banter yet again “you have the little one, I'll take the big one.” much like in Infinity war with “I see you’ve copied my beard!”. Another great moment was of course the: “Avengers... assemble.” which I also absolutely screeched at. INCREDIBLE CINEMA.

But, despite all this excitement and incredible action Steve’s character got, his best part in the film by far was his final goodbye to Sam and Bucky. When he left to put the stones back something in me knew he wasn't going to come back, and although it was sad, it was also relieving in a way. To know he must be going to find Peggy, and to know he would finally “get some of that life” he had always wanted, and find happiness with her was beautiful. When the camera panned round to him on the bench, it was extremely clever to (as he was older and more shrunken) depict him looking the exact way pre-serum Steve did in The First Avenger, with a similar jacket and smaller frame. At first I thought it somehow was younger him, and It was only seeing his face that made me realise that was not the case. By this post I was properly crying. Like tears streaming down my face hiding my sobs crying. His passing of the shield onto Sam was incredibly moving, and before he left to the see when Bucky and him joke about not doing anything stupid whilst he’s gone was also a perfect goodbye. When he went to put his hand on Sam’s and it showed he had a wedding ring, I honestly couldn't even see through my tears, and that final scene. That final scene. The camera panning through the window, the soft music, the slow turning of the camera to reveal Peggy dancing with Steve, I let out what I think is the ugliest noise I have ever made. a full blown SOB. I was actually uncontrollable, the lights went up in the cinema and I just kept going, still crying a good five minutes later. It was an ending that, now it’s happened, seemed so obvious, yet I never saw it coming. Of course The Avengers’ saga had to end that way. The beauty of the ending was that it wasn’t really an ending at all, but a beginning. Yes, Steve has reached the end of his time as an Avenger, but he was only just starting his true, long life he has ahead of him. The perfect finale.

CONCLUSION

I loved this film. I think it did wonders for all the main characters, and to know I know live in a world with no more Avengers films to come is devastating, but I'm just happy I was alive to see them happen, and to be a part of this wonderful community.
