Not something funny but something VERY IMPORTANT. AH admitting that they all fucked up and how shitty their behavior was when dealing with harassment in the fanbase. People were racist, sexist, homophobic, misogynistic, and just downright horrible to a lot of the employees at RT and AH. This came up after Mica Burton left the company and talked about it publicly and how nothing was done about it. Fiona who also experiences these same things, along with Lindsay and other employees, but Fiona took the charge on the Off Topic talking about people can’t continue to get away with that behavior. She got to sound off her feelings to a group of white men who all respected her and LISTENED to what was saying and how she felt. She cried; Geoff cried. They all want to do more, so this doesn’t happen in the future and they’re not tolerating the racist and horrible comments. AH taking a mature moment to talk about how they failed to stop these comments and Geoff was right when he said the company has a long way to go.

 Outside of AH each member has more to them than just all of the comedy and laughs and dumb shit they do

Geoff helped found Roosterteeth and Achievement Hunter. He has a beautiful daughter in Millie who is awesome in her own right. He’s a recovering alcoholic. Currently doing F**k Face podcasts. Was in the fucking army. Takes accountability for every mistake he makes.  

Jack also helped start Achievement Hunter. He does so much work for charity. His twitter is full of things to help people go vote. He’s like the dad to AH, especially Fiona. He’s happily married to his wife Caiti.

Michael was an electrician and has a lot of handy man experience. He made a few videos online about him raging at games and that got the attention of RT. He’s currently married to Lindsay who he met because of RT. They have two kids together.

Gavin is an expert at high speed filmmaking and know how use and edit footage from a slow-motion camera. He has worked on actual films. One of the creators of the Slow Mo Guys. Worked his ass off to get to work for RT. Currently dating model and cosplayer Meg Turney

Lindsay flips between being the mom of the group and a complete chaos queen and we all love her for it. She started as an editor for the RT podcast and then AH stuff. She is an incredible voice actor, most known for Ruby Rose (RWBY), Space Kid (Camp Camp), Hilda (Xray & Vav) just to name a few. She also has a degree in finance

Jeremy started as a fan who made videos on the community page. He took over Ray’s place after Ray left to do Twitch full time. He is a self-published author and a skilled rapper and singer. He’s currently married to his wife, Kat.

Matt also started as a fan making videos on the community page. He actually interacted and made stuff for the guys in really early Minecraft episodes. Seriously this guy is like king of Minecraft. He has a degree in electrical engineering. He also has pretty decent singing voice.

Trevor is THE BOSS. Has a degree in aero-space engineering and is getting paid to babysit AH. Currently dating Barbara Dunkelman, RTs queen of puns.

Alfredo worked at IGN before RT and is a well-known streamer. He is the best when it comes to first person shooter games. He and Trevor look so similar.

Fiona. Po. Her majesty. Host of This Just Internet. A Twitch streamer. Baby of the bunch. Grew up in Europe. Her and Gav act like a pair of siblings. She has stated and showed time and time again she will fight for people to have safe spaces for anyone who needs them.

Ify, our new guy. He is wonderful and I want to stay forever. He’s a comedian, a writer, and an actor. Co hosts F-ing Around with Fiona. Has his own film podcast, Who Shot Ya? I look forward to more content with him in it, cause everything he’s been in so far has been great.

Unpopular Opinion: Axl x April

This is kind of random, but I was cleaning out my drafts and came across this saved text post. Originally, I meant to post this in response to some other post about the relationship between Axl and April from The Middle, but alas, never got around to it (like all things I start on Tumblr :p). Since the last season of this show is about to release soon (see what I mean?? The first episode of Season 9 already came out on Tuesday, October 3!!), I thought I might as well post this as a random opinion before we get to see the end to all of the love-related drama surrounding the Heck children :33

This post is mostly about Axl/April and Sue/Sean, with a tidbit of my updated thoughts due to Tuesday’s kick-off episode.

Contrary to everyone else, I didn’t mind Axl and April as a married couple. Yes, April was a complete and utter ditz, and yes, those types of characters usually drive me up the wall. But, while I didn’t LOVE April as Axl’s newly-wedded wife, I did like the possible development she could have brought to Axl – and likewise, the show. Yes, April was dumber than a rock most of the time (which was what also made her pretty funny!! lbh), but there were also definitely some moments of true, genuine awareness displayed by her. Distinct instances (at least two?? come to mind) where she and Frankie shared moments of real, mutual understanding between each other. One of them is in Episode 3 of the previous season – I believe it’s during the Halloween episode – when I think Frankie is having an emotionally bad day because none of the Hecks are giving her any attention/expressing their love and appreciation for her when in comes April – again, having been portrayed as a totally ditzy character up until this point – and tells her after all the festivities that she told Axl to be nice to Frankie because “we only have one mom” and “moms are pretty great.” The comment basically brightens up Frankie’s whole day and considering how heavily this show is based on showing how Frankie struggles as a middle-class mom trying to raise three kids, I thought that scene was pretty touching and significant. It just felt like at that moment, we as the viewers were supposed to see that even though Axl is a total knucklehead (and that he might be motivated a little bit too much by only looks), that he sees in April what we all have failed to see in her up until this moment – that April is actually a really sweet, caring, and mindful girl, especially where it matters most. April’s few moments of genuine care and mindfulness, especially to Frankie, might seem insignificant to some, but I don’t know if any other of Axl’s previous love interests have really shown that level of empathy and understanding between themselves and his mom.

I also thought that April had a very good potential to help Axl grow as a person – both in terms of finding his future job and emotionally. April’s presence as Axl’s now very real and present “wife” would have propelled him to develop a more realistic and grown-up view of life, thus encouraging him to go find a job to support him and her, as well as help him realize how hard it is to take care of a family. (I’m not saying that marrying someone is ever a good idea to find one’s life purpose, dream job, or whatever – it’s definitely not – but come on, guys, this is a TV show it doesn’t have to be 100% realistic.) April’s existence as Axl’s life partner starts to help him realize the responsibility of growing up and functioning as an adult – you can see a hint of him learning that right here in this video at 1:34. It’s why I was sooooo disappointed when they quickly (and in a rather contrived matter) annulled Axl and April’s marriage. It was like the show was finally going to give Axl some much-needed character development (after having him basically wander around for the past few seasons) by allowing him to taste a bit of what it’s like to grow up into a responsible husband, son, and adult. That possible character development was just broken off wayyyyyy too soon for him, imo. 

I really wanted April to stay because I’m also just kind of tired of Axl jumping from girl to girl lol. I mean tbh, he’s not exactly “jumping” from girl to girl like the ultimate playboy. And I’ve got nothing against any of his past girlfriends, really (I’m actually okay with and kind of like all of them, tbh). It’s just that his lack of a steady girlfriend robs him of some much-needed character development (same with Sue, btw) that has been making his arc very repetitive and boring lately (and by default, taking away humor from the show). I think the same situation has been happening to him and Sue (and to some degree, Brick) for about the past 2 or so seasons: none of the writers knew how to deal with the kids being grown up. Brick is no longer the cute little book boy we’ve known him to be, Sue can no longer get by with being the most unlucky dork in the world, and Axl by this time needs to get his act together. Those dynamics just no longer work when both Sue and Axl are in college and Brick has already had his first year of high school. Perhaps they were going for the realistic (and I will admit, I can definitely relate to Axl’s post-college life struggles), but for a TV show, especially a comedic one, it has to move in some direction. Because nobody wants to watch (too much of a) mundane life on TV. Because while it’s realistic – and somewhat relatable – it’s just… boring. So anyway, yeah, I would have liked April to stick around a little longer to better develop Axl’s character lol. Caveat: I have a feeling that the writers of The Middle did mean to have April stay a while longer (same goes with Sue’s story arc with the 2 or 3??? guys she was trying to get with this past season), but I guess upon hearing/deciding they were going to end the show after the ninth season – and considering it was wayyyyyy too soon for anyone to accept April at that point and I’m pretty sure we can all kind of agree that the cab-guy was probably not the very best pick for Sue lololol – that they just decided the best way to tie things together and give the characters and audience the ending they deserved was to quickly jump ship now and axe April and the cab-guy (was it Trevor??? Or Trey???) in preparation for the last and upcoming season. (Sidenote: Tbh I think The Middle had/has jumped the shark, but I do think it could have/can last for a few more seasons if the writers ACTUALLY KNEW WHAT TO DO WITH THE GROWN-UP KIDS NOW OR BEFORE IT WAS TOO LATE!!!!)

SIDE PARAGRAPH: Lexi’s all right, but a tad boring imo. She’s very vanilla, which is probably good for Axl, but ehhhhhh for me….. Also I’m still mad about how Axl might have been into Lexi when he was still dating April lol.

Probably the last reason why I thought April would be a good addition to the show was because of her ditziness lol. Sure, it was kind of annoying half the time, but April’s completely air-headed comments definitely brought back some much-needed humor to the show. Of which The Middle has been severely lacking lately, because of, you know, the lack of character development for the children (and maybe to some degree Mike and Frankie, but we won’t get into that rn :p). Here we have two kids (Axl and April) whose families kind of really dislike each other, which could have added some pretty epic and funny Romeo and Juliet-esque moments/tensions and comedic relief/humor back into the show. If there’s one thing that’s been missing from The Middle lately, it’s the lack of a few tertiary yet delightfully peculiar characters that provide the extra comic relief to the show through their contact with the Hecks. The most recent instance of such characters are probably Mike’s brother Rusty and Sue’s friend Brad (who is kind of over-used at this point imo). I would have loved to see Frankie and April’s mom at “civil” odds with each other due to their children having been wedded, or maybe Mike and April’s dad actually forming some kind of bond. But alas, both Axl’s – and Sue’s – love interests have been added and dispensed of far too quickly for us to get any type of secondary characters that were as funny as Darrin or the Glossners.

On a sidenote, I’m just as frustrated with how Sue and Sean’s relationship was executed this past season. Again, I think The Middle’s current lack of humor goes back to them not letting Sue get serious with a steady boyfriend to develop her character (by this point, I would have liked Axl to be married or at least be in a steady relationship with the girl who’s supposed to be his future wife/have a fiancé, while Sue should at least just be beginning to find her steady boyfriend). I’m just tired of seeing e v e r y relationship Sue’s ever been in get curbed by some unforeseeable plot device. That being said, again, I do think they rushed Sue’s and Sean’s feelings for each other due to the reasons I’ve already stated above in regard to Axl (aka they had to end the show). I don’t really love, love Sean (there might have been a time earlier in the Middle’s timeline when I might have thought Sue and Sean would have probably made a cute couple, but then it seemed those random “Sue x Sean” hints were completely dropped, so then my feelings kind of passed but maybe they’re back again??). Again, I haven’t necessarily disliked any of Sue’s past boyfriends, except for maybe that hyper-hippie college dude. I probably also love her earlier love interests more because they were more interesting (aka had definite quirks/personalities) and each gave her some character development. But I do think Sean’s a sweet guy and somewhat of a perfect match for Sue. Like Lexi, the guy probably would have warmed up my heart if the show had given him more time to break down his feelings for Sue so that I could get a better idea as to why Sue all of a sudden subconsciously loves Sean and Sean subconsciously thinks a lot about her lol. So yeah, even though I wasn’t a huge Sean fan (or anti, for that matter), I was SO UPSET (albeit a bit conflicted) when Axl’s selfish butt blocked him and made him throw away the snow globe :’c (Update: I’ve since re-watched Sean and Sue’s interactions for the past couple of seasons and oh my word DID YOU SEE HOW DISAPPOINTED AND/OR SAD HE WAS THE SECOND AND THIRD TIMES SUE SAID SHE ALREADY HAD A DATE TO THE PROM/DANCE AND THEN LIKE DURING THE SHOW’S NINTH SEASON PREMIERE I WAS ALL IN WHEN HE SHOWED UP AT HER DOOR HAHA HE LOOKED SO NICE AND THEY WERE SO CUTE AND AWKWARD WITH EACH OTHER AND IF THEY DON’T END UP AS OTP FOR THE END OF THIS SHOW IMMA HAVE TO CUT SOMEONE LOL :’PP) But yeah, long story short: his development was rushed, too leol.

I'm sorry, for God's sake, I don't mean to offend anyone. I'm just a very distrustful nerd, and I'm always picky. I'm skeptical of these Q&As. I can't help but think we're being tricked. Maybe it's some kind of trolling or prank? Mike doesn't answer any of the questions, I get the impression that his "manager" answers all the questions for him. Why Mike would answer anything at all is not clear. Unless as "proof" that he is supposedly around? No clear explanations about upcoming projects, tours. It's not clear from her words at all if there will be any tour at all? When? Maybe yes, but it's not certain. You feel like you went to a gypsy and she read your cards. I'm surprised Mike didn't make some kind of slippery joke about Trevor, as Mike usually liked to do. Just recently during the Mr Bungle tour Mike was more bold in his statements, joking and flirting a lot with Trevor and calling him a porn star, and in this answer to a question about Trevor's butt he's strangely restrained. 'She' in general it's like she doesn't know anything much about Mike's friends, even Roddy Bottum will give away more information about Trey than anyone else. She hasn't revealed anything new about Mike and Trevor's friendship. (Better go to Trevor's website and read his answers to questions about their friendship, he told you everything there a long time ago, and then "do the math.") She doesn't sound like his significant other that he's in a relationship with, but a fan who knows about him as superficially as we all do. A lot of what she revealed we already knew or assumed. All this crap about him being an Aquarius man and into s&m and being hot and having a great butt, I hear it all the time from female fans. And what are we, the fans from the tumblr, so special that just for us "10 people" he decided to be frank, to answer our vile questions about his personal life? Why would he even waste his time on us? Someone wants to believe that we are the chosen ones, our community is special? I'm sorry, but this is bullshit. And I'm confused by this video and the pig and hippo toys. It could have been recorded and sent by anyone. Just like the "Source" could be anyone, any crazy fan who wants to pass herself off as his girlfriend. Why is the "Source" so afraid of this getting out of Tumblr? [Am I having deja vu?] What's so secretive about it? Nothing secretive was said except that this lady called herself his girlfriend. It's like a Polichinela secret. And more importantly, why is she doing this? Why does she want to talk to her boyfriend's fans on Tumblr? Do she and Mike care what strangers think of them? If Mike wants to be candid, he has the facilities for it, he can host a youtube stream for example, yes anything. And if he doesn't want to, why bother trying to find out something about him through someone else? I'd rather not ask him any questions at all. His life is none of my damn business, I'm just here to talk to other people about him. Sometimes strange things happen here on Tumblr, it has its own atmosphere and some people get too involved, starting to think they are too close to the idol. Sometimes it ends badly. There was already some mad girl on Tumblr trying to pass herself off as Trevor's girlfriend. And the whole story was creepy and traumatized many people. Please be sensible, everyone!

Listen, I am (mostly) glad you wrote in, anon. I've had an account here for just about 10 years now. I've been in the trenches, I've seen some shit. I've scoured the old Mike accounts, I know about the Trevor girlfriend drama, I know about the Titi boyfriend drama...or at least as much as is remaining from deactivated accounts.

So, yes, I too come from a place of skepticism. Everything I've ever wrote here about the Source also comes with the caveat that I've never met her. And you've never met me. And if you want to just truly ignore those posts and treat them as unreality, you can ask me to tag them and block them, or hell, just block me if you want. But I will admit that the turning point for me was that video and the audio I received. Am I 100% positive that this isn't all just an elaborate prank/delusion? No, but like....I'm 99% there at this point. Yes, there is AI, yes we live in an age where deep fakes can get really real, but I think of Mike as having one of those voices that is really hard to deepfake - he's so dynamic I can't imagine AI would do a good job of capturing it...but I will admit I myself haven't tried it to see...I am actually curious and might try....

To the anon in my inbox wondering if I will release the audio - no - I ask the Source and she said Mike wouldn't want it out there...so again you can choose to not believe me in this, no prob.

To address Mike's answers - I promise, in the audio at least, it comes off more like any interview where he's being asked ridiculous questions...why would he answer sincerely? And I wasn't even expecting any input from him at all. He does make fun of Trevor when asked if they were "a thing". I think the question about how he's doing really does throw him.

To address the Source's answers....I actually would be more suspicious if they were more revealing...I know it can come off as knowledge that any superfan would know plus some plausible deniability thrown in but....eh...the way that this has all unfolded, plus some stuff that I will not reveal....it reads to me, personally, as someone who wants Mike to be more out there, for his own comfort, so he doesn't have to be a hermit....that he can be a little more interactive (but fuck.....not fucking Reddit AMA interactive) and if we're all chill about it, may just maybe he'll step out a bit further into the world...

To address the "keep this on tumblr" secrecy - *that is ALL ME* it has nothing to do with the Source. Can you imagine? I'm just like...a person? Do *I* want to broadcast that I might be messaging with Mike's gf that no one knows anything about? That doesn't even come off well in tumblr...if that got to fucking IG? Are the 10 us on here special? Well, ya, actually I think we are...like I've mentioned, I'm only here - I don't have a Mike fan account any other place, and I barely have personal social media elsewhere. I think of this current iteration of Mike fandom here to be really kind, supportive - of each other, and of Mike. No one is really screaming at him for cancelling the FNM tour, no one is saying he's an asshole for not doing hardly any interviews the past 4 years, no one (for the most part) is fucking....staking claim to their Mike pics like we're fucking panning for gold out west? If there is any place for celebrities to hide and mostly quietly engage with fans, you and I both know that place is tumblr.

That video and audio wasn't made for us - they were made for the Source, presumably because Mike loves her and she asked. And she trusts us that little but more, and for that I am grateful.

Listen - I gotta go eat breakfast and teach...this is mostly incoherent stream of conscious thoughts, but like....I've live my whole life trying to find an existence where I am not a sucker, but on the whole I am open to people being kind and special things happening.
