Preferences: the Avengers visiting you, the owner of the local bookstore
Avengers x reader
warnings:
a/n: i hope it ok i turned into prefs!! i think it made more sense with the interaction part <3
prompt: @groovy-lady: “May I please request headcanons of being the owner of a bookshop the Avengers all go to and how they all interact with you?”
Bruce is there quite often, frequently in the scientific section. He buys stacks of books at a time and is quiet and polite when checking out. You always comment on how smart he must be and he awkwardly laughs it off. After a while, you start pulling certain books you’d think would interest him, which melted his heart when he realized you thought of him. “I added a science fiction novel in there, too. I don’t know if that’s your thing, but it’s one of my favorites.” You told him and he smiled. “Thank you for thinking of me.” He said.
Clint bought a lot of kids books. “How many?” You asked. “Three. Two boys and a girl.” He told you. You admired his choice of books for his kids. Teen fiction, sci-fi, graphic novels, fantasy, and a few children’s books. “Lots of variety.” You commented. “Yeah, trying to get them into reading.” He explained. “Any recommendations? The older ones are preteens, a boy and a girl. The little one is just learning how to read.” You smirked and started heading towards some classics like Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, and The Hunger Games. “These are the most popular for their age group, and I love them, too. As far as your little guy, you’ve already got the right idea.” Clint was grateful and took the first book of each popular series, promising to come back if they loved them as much you you did.
Nat was a fantasy reader. She had no shame in it. “What do you have for me today, y/n?” She’d approach the counter and have a small stack waiting for her. You’d go down the list with a little synopsis of each. “I hope you like them.” You told her. “You haven’t let me down yet.” She said back. She also donates her books when she’s done with them, saying she wants someone else to enjoy them as much as she did.
Steve nearly picked your history section clean. “Catching up, Captain?” You joked, recognizing the Super Soldier as soon as he walked in. “I don’t even know where to start.” He admitted. You gladly slimmed down his pile of history books and replaced quite a few with some fantastic works that came out while he was on ice. “As much as I enjoy reading, you won’t learn everything from these. Make sure you aren’t missing out by trying to catch up.” You warmly told him. “That’s good advice.” You told him you try and rung him up, warning him not to go reading those all at once.
Tony was more interested in comics and graphic novels, you’d laugh when you saw him pick up the more risque comics and he’d give you a playful wink. “They’re not for me, they’re for Clint’s son, the three-year-old.” He always knew how to make you laugh. “Yes, Elvira is the perfect choice for Clint’s small child.” He said he knew you’d understand. He also admitted he likes comics because they give him a little break from thinking all day and some of the characters remind him of his own life. You told him he was like Batman, he disagrees.
Thor checks out Norse Mythology more often than not. He likes to see what is written about him and his family in the eyes of Midgardians. “Are you sure you don’t want to try something different this time, Thor?” You motioned to a different section. “There’s so much more to choose from, I’d love to give you some recommendations.” Thor declined, placing another Norse book on the counter. “Have you ever read about me? Or my brother, Loki?” You nodded, telling him you’ve read a book or two that had them featured. “Wel”l, maybe next time I’ll buy something with a little less…me in it. We’ll see. Thank you, y/n!”
Before the Darkhold, Wanda was actually quite the enjoyer of teen fiction. She begged you not to tell the others what she read, and you promised you’d never share her secret. Most of the time, she’d cozy up in your reading corner with a coffee and read her “secret” books away from the Avengers. “Wanda, this one just came in. I think you’d love it.”

Record of Ragnarok: What kind of pet do they have?
I'm like Tesla 🤣
Jack
I once read that people who are broken or haven’t experienced much love as children tent to choose animals that are less popular and sometimes seen as bad omens, such as black cats or ravens. So I see that Jack has a rat as a pet. They are intelligent and very clean animals, with an unfairly given bad reputation, and I think that suits Jack very well.
Nicola Tesla
Hear me out, Tesla is the proud owner of a turtle. There's a joke going around turtle owners that every time the turtle does something - such as yawns or falls asleep - you take a photo or video of it and happily show it to everyone. This is Tesla. The entire science crew has a mailbox full of this kind of spam, and their all sigh whenever Tesla sends them a new video of his pet doing absolutely nothing.
Poseidon
I think he likes animals in general. He despises humans and most gods for not behaving as they should, but animals are themselves. They do what is expected of them, they are excellent at being themselves, if that makes sense. So Poseidon probably has a dog that he has trained very well. The dog listens to all commends and generally behaves very well.
Hades
It’s canon that Hades has a pet - cockatoo. These animals require a lot of attention from their owner, which makes sense because we all know how lonely Hades is. He is literally playing chess with it! The parrot probably knows some fancy words like „magnificent” or „mellifluous”, and a whole bunch of wine names that it randomly says. Adamas, by the way, puts some effort into educating the bird too and incidently teaches it how to swear.
Beelzebub
Given how little he cares and how little he CAN care, the only option he has is fish. He gives it a good tank, he remembers to feed it and that’s it. They just exist. Damn… how depressing…
Loki
Two options. First: SAND ANT FARM. He watches it from time to time, mocking the ants for poor direction choices or just messing up with them for funnies. Second option is ferret. Loki finds them both annoying and interesting. There’s no boredom with them.
Ares
Ares thinks highly about himself, after all he is a part of the most powerful pantheon and the son of Zeus. He believes that he deserves only the best, which mean that whatever animal he gets, it will be a pure breed. If he chooses a cat or dog, it will receives a golden pillow to sleep on, a silver food bowl, the fanciest toys, the best caretakers, and… „the best owner”.
Thor
Thor has a cat. Most of the time they simply exist in their spaces and don’t interact. But every now and then a cat comes to Thor and demands a scratch, which Thor gives without hesitation. Loki once overheard Thor talking to his pet in those rare moments. Surprisingly, he speaks in a very gentle and caring tone, almost like mother to her child.
Hajun
He probably has a tank full of dead fish. Never cleaned, never fed, never bothered.
Lu Bu
Lu Bu has a pussy. He had no intention of having a pet, so the cat had to choose him, and Lu Bu obligated. He gives it lots of scratches and plays with it. Lu Bu is unfazed by the claws. Hearing her meow when he isn’t close puts him in a fighting stance. Nobody hurts his cat girl.
Hermes
Budgies! The guy has a lot of responsibilities, he's probably the last to fall asleep and the first to wake up, but he still finds time for his melodious pets. They always get the best snacks and for some unknown reason they become very excited when Zeus is around.
Göll
She has hamster, as small and cute as she is. Göll tries very hard to provide it a happy life, which probably means she’s trying too hard. She asks all his sisters for advice, and knowing how many siblings she has, she probably ends up with very conflicting opinions.
Zerofuku
Definitely rabbit. They are both full of energy, do not pose a threat and just enjoy themselves on a clearing somewhere.
Buddha
He doesn't have a pet, but he occasionally looks after Zerofuku’s and Göll's pets. He complains that he doesn't have time and that he doesn't care, but in the end he has a great time with the rabbit and hamster.
Noah
I think he ends up with a pigeon. He just feeds it from time to time in the same place and slowly tames it. Before he knows it, the bird becomes a new part of his life. He tells it about his problems, about Luna, Jack, Mother Goose and Shakespeare. This pigeon has therapeutic properties.
Qin
Definitely a husky. I see just two idiots keep talking to each other and arguing over nothing. The more the emperor demands something, the louder the husky's tantrum will be.

Loki x Stark Sister Reader Headcanons
What if Loki joined the Avengers after the Battle of New York and his Imprisonment - Thor convinced everyone Loki was mind controlled / manipulated and is good now
Thor probably convinced Loki by telling him - he could be more,he could be good - that he thinks the world of him and thought Loki and him would always fight side by side
Thor : Loki, life is about… it’s about growth, it’s about change, but you seem to just wanna stay the same. I guess what I’m trying to say is that you’ll always be the God of Mischief, but you could be more. - that got Loki thinking
Loki : Do you really think it's a good idea to go back to earth?
Thor : Yes, of course. People on earth love me, I'm very popular.
Loki : Let me rephrase that: Do you really think it's a good idea to bring ME back to earth?
Thor : Probably not, to be honest. I wouldn't worry, Brother. I feel like everything's gonna work out
Loki was skeptical but still joined his Brother and the other Avengers
In the Beginning everyone ignored and avoided him - Tony mocked, provoked and was irritating towards Loki
Thor told Loki to give them Time - everything will be alright
A week later you come to the Avengers Tower visiting your Brother Tony Stark because you haven't seen him in a while - he is always busy
In search of Tony you went to the Common Room - you were shocked as you saw Loki standing besides Thor
Thor smiled at you - saying - Welcome,Lady Stark - I hope you are doing well
What is he doing here - you said sharp pointing at Loki
Ohh Brother, was allowed to join the Avengers he is good now - Thor answered serious
You really believe that ? After everything he has done? - screaming - angry you bumped against Loki's Shoulder on your way out
Loki smirked - I like her - he thought to himself
As you finally found your Brother ,he explained he has not much time he is very busy
you should go annoy someone else
go to our newest Team Member he must be very bored and lonely anyway
no one talks much with him
that's kinda sad you thought
he hasn't done anything suspicious - or hurt anyone
don't look at me like that he wouldn't dare to hurt you - Loki was mind controlled as he attacked New York - that's what Thor told everyone - Tony said
I will only talk with him when i see him on my way out - you said to yourself
A moment later you see him from behind -walking away
He has a nice Ass you thought
Loki , you shouted
He turns around -What do you want little Midgardian? Screaming at me again or bumping against my other Shoulder ? He said with a Smirk
I .... just want to talk with you?
About what?
You
Me? Are you searching for something to use against me?
No - I what ?? No i am sorry... I just... came here to see my Brother but he is a Workaholic and has no time for me ... he said I should annoy someone else - you told him frustrated
your Brother is an Idiot - just like mine they can compete for who's the biggest Idiot
You smiled at Loki - you are funny - I thought you only have murder in your mind
Well...That varies from moment to moment - Loki said with a smug look
Suddenly your Phone rang - I am sorry I have to answer that but I hope we can talk again soon -you told Loki
I am sure we will, Darling
Since then every Time you came to visit your Brother - you talked with Loki
You enjoy his flirty and Sassy Nature
Two weeks later your Brother hosted a Party at the Avengers Tower - you tried to stay off side and enjoy the Food and Drinks .
All of a sudden Loki stands beside you - complimenting your Outfit Choice
Darling, the green Dress looks exquisite on you, you look so beautiful I can't take my Eyes off you
You know how to make a Woman feel pretty but I have to say you also look very damn Handsome - the Suit fits you very well.
Join me for Drinks , you invited him
As you wish, Darling
After flirting and drinking for hours
You slurred drunk - There's something about you that makes me want to grab you and kiss you
Maybe tomorrow my Love ,I will bring you to a Guest Room, you had enough Drinks today - Loki stated amused

Guide to my Rewrites (and other content)
I post a lot of things, and some of those things are rewrites. As such, I thought this would be a nice guide for fans of my rewrites in particular. I'm still adding new things! Lemme know what you think.
Alternate Takes (Disney)
These are projects that have the same characters and settings (for the most part), but different plot points. These particular alternate takes suggest ideas that would've made me enjoy the movie more (or at all) and aren't a fanfic so much as bullet points with pictures.
Aida
Pocahontas
Hercules
The Princess and the Frog
Tangled
Frozen
Big Hero 6
Moana
Frozen 2
Raya and the Last Dragon
Encanto
Strange World
Wish (Note: working on a full-length rewrite unrelated to the ideas used here)
I also did rewrites for two Dreamworks movies:
The Road to El Dorado
Sinbad
Reimagining Disney Movies
These are projects that take Disney's framework (ie a fairy tale) and create my own characters, plot, setting, and song titles for it.
The Snow Queen
Kingdom of the Sun
Rapunzel
Reimagining Disney eras
These posts are designed based on what if Disney eras made different decisions (either based on my own ideas or rejected concepts) for their films. Note: I made the revival post before the renaissance and post-renaissance posts, so they kind of flow in different continuities. I also wanted to include future ideas for Disney's next era. These posts also work independent of my "Alternate Take" posts.
Reimagining the Renaissance
Reimagining the Post-renaissance
Reimagining the Revival era
Plotting out the Reinvention era
Marvel
Not quite as detailed as my other rewrites, but I thought I'd include them.
Dr. Strange: Multiverse of Madness
Thor: Love and Thunder
X-Men (Because they have more content than my other Marvel things)
This pretty much just includes my rewrites.
X-Men: Evolution--New roster, Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, Roster (Timeskip), Season 4, and Season 5 (I did a poll months ago, and maybe I'll do a post brainstorming a Marauders spinoff).
Wolverine & the X-Men--New Roster, Season 1
Fox's X-Men films (I may remake this)--Part I (First 3 films) and Part II (Phoenix, NM, and Dark Phoenix)
Extensive rewrites
TV shows that I've remade episode-for--episode, perhaps removing and adding some as I see fit.
Miraculous Ladybug--Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, Season 4 (currently working on Season 5; been dragging my feet with that!)
Anime as comic books
Yes, this is a topic. I remember when I was in this headspace, and it was really fun. I basically reimagined what if popular anime had been created as superhero comic books that golden or silver age.
Dragon Ball
Naruto
Anime rewrites
Black Butler
Naruto: Part I
High Card: Season 1
Video Game Rewrites
These aren't quite as detailed as my usual rewrites.
Bayonetta
Fire Emblem: Awakening
Fire Emblem: Fates
Fire Emblem: 3 Houses
Kingdom Hearts
Hogwarts Mystery (MAYBE; ongoing internal discussion)
My OCs
This section covers my original characters for a few fandoms. Thinking of making OCs for books/anime/comics, but I do not have the confidence that I know the universe(s) well enough.
Fictif
The Arcana
Hogwarts Legacy
Baldur's Gate 3
Mood Boards
Just something I've made for fun to inspire others! Not an expert on making them, but it was still something I wanted to do.
My Wish rewrite (temporary)
Disney's Swan Lake
Disney's Hansel & Gretel
Disney's Rumpelstiltskin
Disney's Red Riding Hood
Sub-Saharan Disney musical
Disney Superhero Film
Japanese Disney musical
Actors who could play Disney villains
Choices: Stories You Play
REALLY into this game for a period--but it started to get awful when "Witness" came into play. Here's a list of reviews (which I've stopped doing) as well as concepts for new books (originally on Reddit before I got banned).
"Before I Say I Do"
"Celebrity Status"
"Summoned to Court"
"Arkikara"
"Fairy Godparent"
"Hierarchy: Scheming University"
"Willow Falls"
"Late at Night"
"Spellcaster"
"Four"
"America's Most Eligible" (Review)
"Desire & Decorum" (Review)
"High School Story" (Review)
"Rules of Engagement" (Review)
"The Freshman" (Review)
"Queen B" (Review)
Winx Club Content
Rewriting the Winx
Rewriting the Specialists
Rewriting the Villains
Monster High Content
Plotting out Gen 4

I really think it's funny when people try to use 'it's popular actually' as a defense against people saying the writing in RWBY is bad. Like "people say that RWBY is bad, but it's actually really popular, it even sells outside of the states!"
Assuming that RWBY is popular outside of the USA (which I'm not sure of,) and assuming that RWBY is even that popular in the USA (which I'm really not sure of,) it does not mean anything.
Do you know what was popular?
Twilight
The Hobbit Movies
BBC's Sherlock
The third Thor movie
Harry Potter
Why are we pretending that popularity equals quality, again? Like, the live action lion king made tons of money in the box office, but that doesn't make it any less valid to complain about the lack of emotion on those CGI lion faces. The Minions are wildly popular and I still wish I could go back in time and stop them from existing like I'm Lewis from Meet the Robinsons and they're Doris the helping hat. Most Sonic the Hedgehog games are at least relatively successful, but I'll still complain about the writing choices in Sonic Forces.
Saying "People say RWBY is bad but it's actually popular" is like saying "People say McDonalds food isn't that good but there are a lot of McDonalds restaurants." Saying "people say RWBY is bad but it's actually popular" is like saying "people say gaming consoles aren't made to last anymore, but lots of people buy gaming consoles." Whether or not something is popular is entirely irrelevant to the quality of the thing. And RWBY isn't like, half as popular as some people like to imagine. People are out here acting like it's Star Trek, or the MCU, or My Little Pony. It's hardly a sweeping phenomenon, or something that's going to change a genre, or something that the average person on the street will have likely at least heard about. I've never met a single person who hasn't heard about Lord of the Rings, but yet I've only met like two non-relatives who have ever even heard of RWBY. But again, even if RWBY was super big and popular and people everywhere knew it...

⎯ one in nine realms [mini series] “chapter 7”
[masterlist]
[previous chapter] [next chapter]
▸summary: heimdall feels anger, y/n have fun with it.
▸wc: 2.3k
▸warnings & tags: reading minds, jealous!heimdall, thor’s and y/n’s bond, y/n having big sis energy, fluff, anger, monologues, inner thoughts (so much), hei become a dickhead, pov switch, hei!pov, cutie!atreus. [clue for the next chap; intimate moment of hei and y/n ^^]
Heimdall was angry. Definitely. He was angry and he didn't know why.
Maybe he knew but he would never admit his anger to himself because of the fact that he began to feel it, raising beneath his skin, after seeing the scene in front of his eyes that can see everything purely and entirely; you are being so close to Thor, Odin's other son who has no brain at all to use, like he is one of your friends, like he is not your enemy like other Aesir people.
From the corner he was standing, leaning to a huge wall, he was watching your conversation with Thor. There was so much noise around the realm that disturb his hearing abilities but from reading both your and Thor's mind, even if he had zero thoughts to going on because of his stupidity.
You were smiling. So much even. There were a few touches that exchanged between the two of you; you touched his big chest, he touched your shoulder to squeeze it. From the thoughts you two had, he can clearly understand that you were just an old friend for Thor, he really loved Sif and surprisingly, he was feeling - happy to see you. On the other hand, you were happy to. You were treating him like he was no Aesir, the enemy of Kratos, your dear friend as he saw in your thoughts. To save Atreus, to help Kratos, you came all these ways. He knew you and Kratos had a bond but he didn't expect you to have a friendship bond with Thor as well.
He knew you two didn't have a intimate bond other than friendship but well, he couldn't help himself; the odd feeling, which would call as jealousy, landed right into his heart and mind. He didn't like what he saw; you with Thor. No, he didn't like it at all.
So, when you really laughed happily, his hand became a fist. Why he was feeling - mad? You didn't mean anything to him, not a single thing. You were just a Goddess who could be enemy of his people anytime. He shouldn't trust you - he shouldn't think about you. He should make you leave the Asgard as soon as possible, the realm he had to protect, his home but an inner voice kept saying how he wanted to make you stay, in Asgard, with him.
Your unexpected impact of him wasn't something he could avoid. It was attacking to the body, mind and heart like a void. He was having a weakness because of you. He was - thinking. Something he didn't want to because when he would begin to think, his mind goes crazy, he knew that.
To stop his thoughts, to stop watching you have a discussion with Thor about Atreus and the mask mission, he turned to other side only to see the Valkyrie he talked a few days ago while you two were riding on Gulltoppr. Valkyrie walked towards him after meeting with his gazes. He even didn't notice her presence around, looking directly to his direction because of your existence in his mind that makes him just focus on you.
"Heimdall," Valkyrie's seductive voice didn't work on him but he kept a cocky expression on his face. "It's good to see you finally," She looked at you, "Alone."
Smirking, Heimdall said, "Well, it's not a secret that I have quite popularity in Asgard. It's hard for me to have a available moment."
She looked at him with a well-knowing expression. Pointing at your direction, she added, "They said she was an outsider. Someone as low as her should not allow in -"
"She is All-Father's guest." His voice was higher than he intended to. "Are you trying to say his choice about guests is wrong?"
Valkyrie tried to defense herself, waving her hands in front of Heimdall, "You got me wrong. I didn't mean to judge All-Father's choices."
Heimdall looked at her eyes, not wanting to continue this argument any longer. He was mad but not to Valkyrie but to himself because after her speech, Heimdall didn't protect Odin's wishes, no, he protected you.
He realized that Valkyrie was putting you in a lower life form and without a particular reason, he felt offended. No one but except him could make fun of you or saying harsh things. You were - you were on his protecti - no! not protection, he said to himself, you were on his watch.
While fighting with his own feelings and thoughts, a voice coming from other side took his interest.
As he looked that way, he saw half-breed, running towards you. A smile grew on your face as Heimdall's gazes traveled your pretty face -
"Will you come tonight?"
Valkyrie asked, making Heimdall realize her presence again. Without saying anything, he waved his hand towards Gulltoppr. "Dunno. Just keep what you are doing." Then, he got up on the top of Gulltoppr.
° ° °
"Y/n!"
Atreus' happy voice came from other side, making you jump at his high pitch sound. "Atreus!"
Opening your arms, you hugged his smaller body, welcoming his arrive happily.
"I missed you."
"Me too!" He turned to Thor who was standing silently. "Oh, Thor, ugh, hi?"
Exchanging glances with Thor, you tried not to chuckle at Atreus nervous behavior.
"It's okay Atreus. He has no harm." Turning to your old friend who now had his arms crossed on his huge chest, you furrowed, "Right?"
Nodding slowly, Thor said, "As long as he doesn't think to play with me."
"Of course not!" Atreus defended himself, "So," He pointed you and Thor, "How come you know each other?"
Smirking, you said, "It's a long story. I will tell about it as we go back to your room, okay?"
Nodding to you, Atreus smiled. "I have lots of adventures to tell, y/n! Thor and I already found another piece for the mask! Do you want to see it?"
As he made a move to pick up the mask he had on his back belt, a voice you missed to hear suddenly came out of nowhere, "Well, well. Isn't this a beautiful sight to see? Three people under All-Father's orders became one."
Rolling your eyes, you looked at Heimdall who was riding his horse, Gulltoppr while smirking playfully. The sun's light was licking his pretty face and good looking body features as his eyes' color began to shine more.
"Heimdall," Thor's deep voice interrupted your shared look with Heimdall, "Where is All-Father?"
Heimdall smirked, "In his personal room of course. Why are you asking though? Will you try to tell," He waved his hands to point Atreus, "How you become friends with this half-breed? Or," He pointed at you, "Will you say how his other guest who is another enemy of our people is already friend of yours?"
Oh, you thought, how you expected him to see you as a friend, not an enemy of his people. You thought you were really having a bond, he was - liking you but you were wrong. Heimdall was a God that only cared for himself and All-Father. He didn't need anyone's friendship, especially you, the enemy.
Well, maybe - A complex thought caught you and before Heimdall read your mind, you acted.
"He already knows it." You said to him, referring to Odin, "He was the one who helped us to meet, isn't that right Thor?" You smiled, "Do you remember the first time we met?"
Thor smiled too, showing how he remembered it and felt happy. The first time you met was for another day to tell but you had a relationship with ups and downs because of your marching personality; hard-headed warriors. He was the one who made you realize what you were doing. He was covered in blood already, head to toe but he wanted you to go, to reach the freedom you deserve. He was, maybe, the only Aesir God who you would have so much fun with.
Turning to Atreus who was looking at you and Thor with his cute little eyes, you said, "C'mon, we should get going." Taking him by shoulder, you even didn't give a short look to Heimdall who was silent felt like an age. Smiling to yourself, you realized how funny you found his silence posture. Well, he wasn't the only one who had cocky attitudes after all.
"See you soon Thor."
After that, you left two sons of Odin with Atreus. As you believed, they had a discussion to make.
° ° °
You were playing with him. Heimdall knew it with all his heart. Reading your filthy and complex mind became an addict for him that he want to do every moment of the time you two had.
He hated liars, especially those who thought they could lie to him particularly. However, you weren't them. No, you never lie to him or to yourself. You weren't hiding your thoughts, yes, sometimes you made it more complex for him to understand but it was a defensive manner, he got it eventually. But you never lied. Even right now, you didn't hide how you wanted to make him mad and even jealous about your relationship with Thor. You expressed your own feelings about Thor and the bond you had while not being afraid to show it to Heimdall who was standing there like a statue, feeling a little anger coming out of you. He knew the source of this little anger; him calling you an enemy.
He didn't mean to actually, he didn't mean to be a cocky God this time. It was just his nature. His defense mechanism.
Jealous he felt before he came to your side made him act like this; hostile.
Even if he knew what you were doing, making him mad and jealous, he couldn't help but feeling them. You were right about thinking that the whole thing you had with his dummy step brother would touch his nerves. You were enemy of his people, yes, but right now, he wasn't sure whether you really was an enemy of his or not. He wanted to take you in but he simply couldn't. It was not his nature.
"She is long gone." Thor said, making Heimdall turn to his side as he stopped looking at the direction you went.
"What are you talking about?"
Heimdall wasn't reading his mind, not wanting to see what Thor's dummy mind had on it.
"You are looking to that direction for too long but she's already gone." Moving with his huge body slowly, Thor smirked, "You are like any of us after all."
Anger that Heimdall felt this particular day was enough.
"I will not deal with your nonsense. I have better and more important work to do." Making a sarcastic bow to Thor, he began to ride Gulltoppr again. As he was leaving Thor and all events that happened behind, he heard his last words, "Whatever you say."
Deep down, he knew what Thor thought - he thought how Heimdall became fond of you, how he - he was acting like the way Thor acted when he found Sif.
No! - Heimdall shouted to himself. He didn't want to think. He just needed to leave this place, to shut his mind down.
In the end, he was heading towards the Valkyrie's practice area. He needed to turn back the way he was before you entered to the Asgard, to his life.
° ° °
“Then, Thor helped me to take the piece! He didn’t leave me to death. I think he is not a bad guy after all.”
Smiling to Atreus’ exciting posture while he was telling you the adventure he had with Thor, you caressed his hair, “He is just broken. I assume you already saw that too.”
Nodding sadly, Atreus added, “He looks like he is lost.”
“Indeed he is,” Sitting on the bed of your room which Odin gave you as thanks, you said with a serious tone, “But we can’t trust any of them. They are still see us as their enemies. They can do whatever they need to do if Odin just orders. So,” You touched both of Atreus’ arms gently while he listened you carefully, “We will be careful and we will hold each other’s back. Got it cutie?”
Rolling to the nickname you used for him, he stand up from the bed, “Don’t call me that!”
Chuckling to his cute expressions and eyes, you waved your hand, “Okay, I will not. But if you give me a promise.” You rose your little finger, “Promise?”
Nodding to you, Atreus took the little finger you gave him with his smaller one, “Promise.”
Holding him by his little finger, you smiled, “Don’t forget I am here only for you Atreus and no one, even Thor, can hurt you. I will not let them.”
Admire he felt towards you occurred on his blue eyes who held skies on them, making you feel like a protector and even his big sister. Everything that came out of your mouth was facts; no one and even Thor who was probably a lot stronger than you now can not hurt him. You would not allow them to. You would cut their head off if they try to raise a hand towards Atreus. Giving him a short hug, you kissed his cheek which he cleaned immediately but having pink color on his cheeks. You laughed, “I will leave you now. I have to speak with Odin. Then, we can go to travel the realm together. Would you like to do it?”
Atreus nodded happily, “I would love to!”
“Wait for my return, then.”
As you made your way out of the room, Atreus’ shy but happy voice came from behind, “Y/n,” he said. You looked at his smaller body while he was scratching his back hair shyly, “I am glad you are here. With me. Thank you so much.”
Feeling so happy that you give him a big smile, “Me too, Atreus, me too.”
Then with that, you left him alone to speak with Odin. You need to make new arrangements, especially about his favorite boy Heimdall.
TO BE CONTINUED.

HELLO INTERNET STRANGER I am here to ask you about your favorite thing!
So I’ve never done cosplay before but my partner wants to do one together. They have a good look for the Winter Soldier, so in keeping with the Marvel theme I wanna do my favorite bastard: Loki. I’m a short and fairly cis woman but for the cosplay I’d like to present as standard male MCU Loki, though I have no idea which Loki from which movie I should go as. Frankly I’m a little intimidated at my own choice, given how popular he is and how many incredible cosplays there are, but the only other option I could think of was Black Widow, a character I’m not nearly as passionate about. As a complete beginner (and a comparatively broke one at that), do you have any nuggets of wisdom for me? Tips, resources, links, moving speeches?
Excited to hear back from you! I stumbled upon your blog and was like ‘a sign from the gods’. Your stuff is incredible. Give me as long and thorough a rant as you have time for! I crave kñøwľęðğė
Hello hello! First off, so sorry that I didn't get to this sooner--it's been a Month and I have a brain like a wet noodle sometimes! If you've never cosplayed before and want to dip your toes in, might I suggest one of the "Midgard" looks? Thor, Dark World, and Ragnarok all have Loki in a suit and especially if you do the hair/makeup and maybe a dagger or two, it's pretty recognisable I'd say!
I'm partial to the first two because they have pretty scarves to go with them! I thrifted those looks when I did them which made it very broke-friendly as well. ;) That said, there are also some fun comic looks that are fairly casual but still would be recognisable as Loki. I almost did this one! You could pretty easily do a tshirt with fabric paint and stenciling, make some small horns or grab some off Etsy, et voila!
It would also be pretty entry-level to buy one of the mass produced Loki costumes and spruce it up--some folks add foam armour or other extra details--but those do usually run at least $100+ for the base, so thrifting a more casual look is better for a tight budget!

Magic the Gathering x Marvel Set Speculation: Creature Types
I'm pretty excited for the upcoming Universes Beyond Marvel set. I've already made one post where I just rambled about random bits of speculation I had about the set, but I've still been rotating some ideas in my head and I've decided to do a focused dive on a subject I love to think about: creature types. I'm gonna break this up into three sections to try and give it a little structure but it'll probably be a bit rambly within each section. The first two sections (Species/Races and Classes) will focus more on broad strokes that take into consideration both legendary and nonlegendary creatures...I'm not going to try and guess every possible type random legends might have. The third section will be more for me to speculate on specific characters that I think might have especially interesting types. I'll repeat some of my thoughts on creature types from my other post here too so they're all in one place.
Species/Races
Existing creature types I expect to see the most of are Human (obviously), Mutant, Alien, and Robot...
I don't really think any of the various species of aliens really need their own creature type... they can all happily chill under the Alien umbrella
For IP reasons I expect Mutant to solely be used for characters with the X-gene...a lot of other characters that are "mutates" by Marvel terminology will probably just be typed as Human, with a few other exceptions...
Honestly, I think the Marvel sets might only need to make two IP specific creature types: Inhuman and some kind of catch-all for all the various gamma mutates (Hulk and related characters)
The Inhumans are enough their own thing within the context of Marvel that I don't think they really fit in with any existing creature type
Hulk and the other gamma mutates (She-Hulk, Red Hulk, Abomination, etc.) also don't cleanly fit into an existing type...kind of. In a vacuum, I would probably use Mutant for them...but like I said earlier, Mutant is probably going to be reserved for X-gene related characters. I don't really have a super solid idea of what to use though. You might be able to get away with just using Hulk as the creature type, as a lot of these characters have Hulk in their name, but I don't know if it's actually the best choice.
You could maybe introduce a Mutate creature type to handle the Hulks and certain other characters, but I feel like there would be a legitimate concern over its similarity to Mutant, especially in a set where I think there's a decent chance of Mutant typal being a theme.
There's one other IP specific type I could see them making: Asgardian. Personally I think it's unnecessary, Thor and related characters could just as easily be given the God type instead of making a new one, but that might depend on what Marvel wants.
Speaking of the more magical/supernatural side of Marvel, while I don't expect to see them in as high of a quantity as the four I mentioned at the top it should be noted that we could possibly see a non-zero number of Vampire, Elf, Dwarf, Troll, Giant, Demon and/or Devil, and Spirit creatures.
Oh, and between the Savage Lands and also characters like Sauron, Old Lace and Devil Dinosaur I think there's a good chance we can expect at least a few Dinosaurs
Classes
Now I've seen some speculation on the idea of using Hero and Villain as class types in this set but personally I really hope they don't. First, it will reduce that backwards compatibility of the set, which is something WotC thinks about with the popularity of eternal formats. Captain America will interact with more cards as a Human Soldier than as a Human Hero. Second it just looks monotonous, especially in conjunction with how many Humans we'll be getting. What's a better set of creature types for Captain America, Black Widow, and Hawkeye: Human Soldier, Human Rogue, Human Archer or Human Hero, Human Hero, Human Hero?
So setting aside the types I don't think we'll see, how about the ones I think are likely? I think some types we could see multiple of are Soldier, Warrior, Rogue, Scientist, Detective, Assassin...and maybe Ninja, Pilot, and Wizard and Warlock as well.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Citizen make a comeback just so we can get cards that represent civilian characters without just typing them as Human... although I could see Advisor getting some use here too for characters who are lawyers, journalists, or politicians.
Specific Character Speculations
A slight aside at the beginning of this section: if there is a set that really could benefit from finding some way to make the Legendary supertype not eat up so much space on the typeline, it's this set
Also, me listing a character here doesn't mean I think they're 100% certain to get a card, I'm kind of just idly speculating about characters that could have some unusual types.
Rocket Raccoon: I've heard a couple of different stories of Rocket's origin but apparently the (current) comic canon is that he's an earth raccoon that was abducted and genetically enhanced by aliens so I think Raccoon Rogue would be a good fit
Groot: I could see them using Treefolk, Alien Treefolk, or Alien Plant for Groot. Small aside, but I really hope there's at least one card with the flavor text "I am Groot."
Blade: Warrior is a likely choice for a class type, but the real question is how they'll represent him being a dhampir. Human Vampire seems like an obvious pick but Legendary Creature - Human Vampire Warrior is probably going to really push the character limits of the type line. Depending on what aspects of him they want to emphasize I could easily see them dropping his class type if they really want to emphasize his dhampir nature and just type him as Human Vampire...but if they don't want to skip a class type they could decide that Vampire Warrior works and just not bother differentiating him from full vampires.
Ghost Rider: Is Ghost Rider fully skeletal? I could easily see Skeleton Pilot or Skeleton Warrior depending on if they want to emphasize him as a motorcycle rider or a badass fighter...maybe even Skeleton Rogue
The Thing: How non-human do you have to look before you stop counting as Human for creature type reasons? According to the Marvel wiki he's considered a human mutate so technically he could still be a Human... but I could just as easily see them making him an Elemental just to add some variety to the creature types in the set. As for a class you could get clever and make him a Pilot because that's what he originally was, but I don't really see a The Thing card caring about Vehicles so I think Warrior is the best call.
The Lizard: The best possible creature type for him would possibly be Human Lizard Scientist but that might have space issues...but honestly Lizard Scientist is novel enough I wouldn't complain.
Venom/Carnage/other symbiotes: This is less a speculation about their creature type (Alien would probably suffice) but a different typing adjacent question... I wonder if we could justify making them Enchantment Creatures with Bestow to represent other characters wearing them.
Namor: Oh dang, I forgot Marvel had Atlanteans. If we wanted to maximize backwards compatibility I could try and argue we could lump them under Merfolk... but honestly they could also make Atlantean its own type and future proof themselves for other IP that feature inhabitants of Atlantis that are a separate species from humans (like a Universes Beyond: DC for example.) Oh, and Noble would be his class.
You know, I could go on and on trying to guess random characters' creature types so I'm gonna cut myself off here. Maybe one of these days if I get sufficiently bored I'll add onto this post. If anyone else has some ideas for fun Marvel creature types or wants to debate my ideas don't be afraid to add on a reblog or comment. I'd love to talk about this kind of stuff.

On "Lady Loki" PSA: You mean Loki being Femme?
“Lady Loki” is NOT Loki being genderfluid. The name is a mixture of “Lady Sif” (because Sif’s title is “Lady” like “Lord”) and “Loki” because Loki stole Sif’s body after Ragnarok ensued, and trapped her in a dying old lady’s body. Loki first shows up possessing Sif’s body in Thor Vol. 3 # 5 back in 2007. Loki continued to use male pronouns in Sif’s body, but just gets misgendered by everyone else. And as much as I love aspects of Loki’s characterization in that era, having that plotline in this political climate would be awful, incredibly damaging, and way more problematic than anything the Loki show gets accused of. I need people to know what the fuck they’re talking about before they refer to wanting "Lady Loki" in the Loki show because this is what you're talking about.
I will be open and say I am not a fan of much of the majority of Thor comics. They are fucking annoying and read like some Gary Stu male fantasy because they’re always going off about how Thor is the fucking best and his plot armor makes him the only and best choice to be Asgard’s ruler despite there being other characters with similar qualities in Asgard but Thor’s “just better”. The misogyny is off the charts in these with all the ridiculously and impractically scantily clad “warrior” women that all want to fuck Thor and have little personality past that. I also loathe the “Loki’s just evil” crap. My fascination with them is more like gawking and wanting to be pissed off. Plus, I find pre-reincarnation Marvel comics!Loki to be a fascinating study of a Comics Code Authority/Hayes code era villain (and I kinda root for him because the narrative annoys me). He’s up there with all the Disney villains despite not originally being Disney.
In those pre-reincarnation comics that often piss me off, Loki is meant to evoke disgust and to “disturb” through his failure to be the epitome of manliness. Marvel has tried to distance themselves from that once they had their “Are we the baddies?” epiphany by retconning Asgard to be more progressive. It kinda annoys me because panels exist where they’re being queerphobic to Loki. To me, it’d feel more organic if Asgard was shown going through societal change rather than “We have always been progressive, what the fuck are you talking about?” But that's just me.
I remember when Loki was about to come out as bisexual in the comics on 2013 after becoming very popular largely due to Tom Hiddleston’s Loki (Young Avengers #13 where he flirts with Prodigy, followed by Agent of Asgard revealing he's a genderfluid shapeshifter in 2014), queer organizations expressed concern over the whole “queer-coded villain á la Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs.” If you are not familiar with Buffalo Bill, he is the main antagonist from Thomas Harris’s very copagandic and transphobic book, Silence of The Lambs, the book with Hannibal Lecter (played by Anthony Hopkins who plays MCU!Odin lol) where he’s like “I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti. T-sss-tsss-tss.”
Buffalo Bill is said to not be a “real transgender”, whatever the fuck that means especially with all the policing around bodily autonomy, and some statistic about how transgenders are the least likely to be violent is shoehorned in, but everything about the character ends up being a queerphobic trope. The “difference” is that Jame Gumb “thinks” he wants to be a woman but doesn’t actually want to be (the transphobia in this book is off the charts).
I am glad Loki has gotten redemption arcs of sorts, because a lot of the tropes employed on comics!Loki just pissed me off. And I am glad MCU!Loki never went through the transphobic possession storyline in the name of being "comics-accurate".
The easiest way to represent genderfluidity in the MCU with a casting choice that predates Loki's coming out in comics would be through dialogue in the magic-less TVA. Have Loki say that her pronouns are she/her while looking the same because people can't shapeshift in real life.
I think if they ever adapt the Agent of Asgard thing (with a new actor), the casted actor should be genderqueer. Tom Hiddleston gets a pass because Loki was not genderqueer yet when he was casted and in 3 movies already (and he was playing the pre-JiM (2011) Loki), but the new one should be.
#mcu!loki#comics!loki#loki series#marvel comics#thor comics#lady loki#comics!sif#hot takes#LokiInMedia#because i see too many people using “lady loki” to refer to loki's genderfluid identity#genderfluid shapeshifter trope

Strange Tales #123
Cover Date: August 1964 On-Sale Date: May 12, 1964
Doc once again interacts with the Marvel Universe at-large. He faces a new-to-him, but not new foe. The Mighty Thor's sparring partner, Loki, visits our master sorcerer with evil intentions. Doc shares half the cover this round! His popularity must be growing. He's also got something weird going on with his hands that may be the colorist's bad decision. Doc's hands are flesh colored but his wrists are orange like his gloves. It's almost like the gloves are in multiple parts and Doc chose to wear only the gauntlet parts. However, no line creates a clear delineation between hands and possible gauntlets. The masterworks recoloring respects this odd choice. The Pocket Books reprints from 1978 did not and made them appear as regular gloves. The bottom of the splash page promises Thor putting in an appearance "drawn in the somewhat different Ditko style." Ditko is better at Kirby characters than Kirby is with Ditko characters.
Doc, enjoying a casual day (sans big cloak,) floats in his study attempting to master the art of levitation, while he is being spied on by Loki, Asgardian god of evil. At this point, Loki is pure evil and not the ambiguous, non-binary imp of today. As we've seen multiple times before, Doc isn't so hot on the security thing, mystic or physical so any magic user can peek on what's going on inside the Sanctum Sanctorum. Doc may be in the same study we've seen before, but the Sanctum's depiction has always been really inconsistent so who knows?
Loki spends several panels in long-winded exposition for the audience's sake which boils down to "I will trick Doctor Strange into stealing Thor's hammer for me!" He conjures a cool looking insect type sigil above his cauldron (which is really just a hole in the ground) and pops into Doc's Sanctum delivering Doc quite a surprise! He even dressed in odd chains for the occasion and blaming the "evil" Thor for his predicament!
Now, the Avengers have been around nearly as long as Doc has at this point and Loki has been annoying Thor for longer than that. Doc is also a highly skilled and well informed magic user. It seems to be stretching suspension of disbelief to think Doc is completely unaware of who Loki is. Yet, he seems to have never heard of Loki here. I guess no one had answered that Village Voice ad for continuity coordinator yet.
Doc's All-Purpose Amulet probes Loki's chains not suspecting that the evil he senses is Loki, not the fake Thor chains. "Dude! Only Thor's gnarly hammer can free me!" "Okay dude, but I need a piece of the hammer to cast the proper spell!" "What a coincidence! I have this little sliver of leather from the handle that I've been carrying around since the beginning of time!" "Perfect! Let's go!"
Doc throws the sliver into his own cauldron, mumbles some mumbo-jumbo and viola, a metal hand rises from the cauldron, flies off and grabs Thor's hammer. He's in mid-flight so he's got no where to go but down. Loki is able to see this and then imagines a giant version of himself standing on the earth with a giant version of the hammer, apparently unaware of the massive gravity disruption giant Loki with giant Mjolnir would cause.
Doc, using his own investigative skills and the All-Purpose Amulet sees there is no evil in that little, tiny bit of leather and realizes "It was Loki all along!" He might have been smart enough to deduce this, but not smart enough to not say it out loud. Loki's sharp ears (even though covered by his costume) catch this and he attacks Doc. Doc threatens to stop the spell which has stolen the hammer, which is probably something he should have done at that moment.
What follows is a visually spectacular battle between the two. Doc is severely outmatched by Loki, but soldiers on. There's some back and forth where Doc imprisons Loki who shrugs it off and Loki imprisons Doc who has a much more difficult time escaping. Using illusion images of himself, Doc hides in the next room, changes to his spirit form, sneaks up on Loki and cancels his "steal Thor's hammer spell."
The hand disappears and the caption reads that "time spins back, back... until, before Thor's fall finished..." Does this mean that Thor went splat? Did the spell rewind the world, like Superman in the first Christopher Reeve movie? The world may never know.
"Oh, hell!" thinks Loki, "I really need to hurry things along." Doc attempts to entrap Loki in the Purple Dimension, but that doesn't work. Doc uses the All-Purpose Amulet to throw up a shield as a last resort. Loki crouches like a monkey and uses what looks like a floppy lightning bolt to pummel Doc. It's quite a ridiculous panel! I love it!
Thor flies toward the Sanctum as Loki prepares to administer the coup-de-grace. "Damn it! Gotta go, Doc!" Loki's spirit form returns to Asgard as Thor flies by the Sanctum. We get a close-up look at Ditko's Thor. It's definitely different from the Kirby rendition, but it certainly isn't bad. In fact it's slightly more realistic.
Just wait until Kirby draws Doc again in a couple of months!
Thor's hammer stops tingling so he doesn't visit Doc but flies by the big, round Vishanti window as Doc looks out. Doc says some platitudes on how good must always triumph over evil out loud to himself and our story ends.
Well that was exciting! We get a truly one-sided battle where Doc is really overwhelmed by his foe. As a bonus, we get an Avenger guest starring. But that's really a cock-tease since he's more plot device than character. I really wish I could ask Lee and Ditko if Thor actually died in this story and was magically un-splatted. Visually, the battle between Loki and Doc is great. Ditko is getting more and more imaginative depicting magic. He is also getting lazier when it comes to backgrounds and they're mostly negative space. I suppose it helps when the funky chairs don't distract from the bolts of bedevilment. Overall, it was nice to have Doc interact with the rest of the Marvel Universe again, especially in his own series.

Happy Birthday!! I love your comic so much, it's been so nice seeing it updating again! I guess if you want as a fun question, which of your characters has been the most fun to design so far? I really love Coal's distinctive hair and recently I really loved Hel's appearance (I hope we see her again someday~) so I'm curious which if any characters have stricken your fancy the most?
Thank you! Oh man, Coal's hair! You're a true TMK OG if you know where its inspiration comes from lol.
Designing characters is one of my favorite things to do, so narrowing down to a fave or most fun design can be tricky. But (speaking of tricky!) it might have to be Loki. When I first decided I was going to use Loki as a character, I was kind of worried. He's so popular and famous, probably the best-known character from the Norse myths even before Marvel's Thor movies were made. There's a lot of depictions of him so trying to come up with my own idea was pretty daunting.
A couple of things came together to help me create my own idea for Loki. One of them was John Bauer, an illustrator from the turn of the 20th century. I noticed a lot of his art used when looking at various Norse mythology pages. Some aspects of his depictions of Loki helped get my own gears turning.
Images from: https://runeberg.org/gudasaga/
Bauer's style in general was another inspiration for me, but I remember looking at that left drawing of Loki and Idunn and thinking, "His eyes are pretty narrow and dark there...kind of reminds me of a shark...ooh what if he had black eyes?" That's where the "reverse" eyes for jotnar came from. The eyes of characters and how they define them have become a common motif in the comic.
Loki's clothes, particularly his tunic, are inspired by clothes worn by the Sámi people, though I'll admit I made up the embroidery designs. In hindsight this may not have been the most appropriate decision, but it was done before I even knew the term "cultural appropriation." I think my initial ideas were that the jotnar had a connection to the indigenous people of Scandinavia and the Aesir were more like colonizers. It's actually been argued that the Aesir/Vanir war that is mentioned in the myths is a leftover from a culture (the Aesir) arriving and conquering the locals (the Vanir). Neat stuff.
No one has said anything to me about Loki's outfit so hopefully it's okay, and I don't mean anything disrespectful by using it. When I was researching I was struck by their designs and wanted to use it somewhere prominent. The story doesn't stay in Scandinavia for long so there wouldn't have been many (any?) other chances to show it.
The colors for Loki came a little easier. I knew he would be a warmer character in TMK, even become a pseudo-dad for Coal and the other kids, so all his color choices are warm and earthy. He's supposed to look approachable and friendly--at first, anyway.
I love all the designs for the characters in TMK, but I might be proudest of Loki's, if only because it was so intimidating to do in the first place. I think it worked out well.

Who do you ship the main Avengers with in the Kverse?
More specifically, is Steve/Buck a possibility?
I'll preface this by saying that shipping is kinda low priority in my writing - I typically go with canon pairings if they're convincing enough to me or popular alternatives if they aren't, with few exceptions. Much like with many of the character interactions in the Kverse, romances are not one of the things I typically plan ahead for, rather playing them by ear as the stories go along. That being said, I have given them some thought, just to get an idea of where they might head in the future.
For the main Avengers,
-Tony and Pepper, as you know, are together. I know Tony's traditionally kind of a ladies' man, but it wouldn't really feel right to go that way with this version, so I don't really plan on changing up their relationship (not in a potentially breaking them up way, at least).
-Bruce, I dunno. I like the idea of eventually reconnecting him with Betty, but I wouldn't bring her back just for a romance. I'd want to give her something to do that naturally brings her back into Bruce's orbit (and solely being Thunderbolt Ross's daughter isn't enough to me, tbh). If anyone reading this is a fan of Bruce x Natasha, I do apologize, but I have zero interest in that ship. I found it bizarre in 2015 and I haven't seen anything to change my mind since.
-I guess the biggest change here, I was never a big fan of Clint and his secret family - not so much the characters themselves, I think they're fine, but Clint never struck me as the type to even pretend to try and settle down. He is currently single in the Kverse (though that's not to say Laura and the kids don't exist. Details on that will have to wait). I might've shipped him with Natasha in the very early days, but I prefer their platonic life partner schtick these days, and I don't have a planned alternative for him at the moment.
-I think Natasha's actually somewhere in the aromantic spectrum and claims to be casually fine with it - but she kinda isn't, at the core of her being. She's had no shortage of partners (regular ones and fake ones as a Widow, with all that that entails), but she's so far been unable to form meaningful romantic relationships, and I do think a big, rather frustrated part of her (understandably) blames it on the Red Room's brutal "training". I think, deep down, she wishes to eventually find a way to disappear for good and settle down with a partner, but whether or not it's a genuine desire, or her vindictively wanting to stick it to the Red Room, or something else entirely, is anyone's guess (including hers)(these guys need so much therapy).
-Thor's a difficult one. I do think he's big-time smitten with Jane Foster at the moment, but he's not stupid. Her lifespan is the blink of an eye for him, and no matter how much he might come to wish otherwise, I don't think Jane would be super down for gaining immortality - even if it is the Norse, "can get killed in battle" type. It might be a point of contention later on, but for now, they're barely starting out as a couple, so no changes there.
-I think Cap and Peggy had a really sweet thing going back in the forties, but (and I apologize for the hot take) I do think it was kind of a mistake to have him choose to stay in the past and live out a life after Endgame. It was satisfying in the moment, but upon reflection, it feels like a weird choice for Steve Rogers to make. I can see him passing on the mantle to Sam, sure, but leaving his world behind in ruins, even in victory? Abandoning his friends and fellow heroes without warning? For a lost love he'd come to terms with? I dunno, I don't hate it or anything as a conclusion to his story, but it also doesn't really work for me anymore.
(there is an interesting wrinkle regarding Cap and Peggy in the Kverse but I can't talk about it at all yet, for big spoilery reasons) As for Steve x Bucky specifically - I'm not sure. No shortage of potential or chemistry between those two (as evidenced by thousands upon thousands of fics focused on them haha), and I do like them together, but Bucky is gonna be so messed up even if he gets promptly rescued in this timeline. I don't think he'd be in a place to even consider a relationship for a while, and I wouldn't want to force it on a shorter timetable. I think there was something there, in the past, but not something that would've naturally resulted in a relationship - from the war, the time period and culture, Peggy and Steve kinda sweeping each other off their feet out of the blue, take your pick. Obviously, their circumstances will have very much changed by the time they meet again - for better or worse.
#ask box#anon ask#kryptonverse#i'd say i lean “yes but i'm not gonna force it” with steve and bucky#not that i try and force any relationship#at least consciously haha#ymmv on my ability to write romance#i do not consider it one of my strong suits at all

Rewatched Cinderella 1950,and now I'm imagining a Camibilly Cinderella au. Instead of two evil stepsisters, Nicky's an evil stepbrother.
That's the Disney old animated one, right? @jesstasticvoyage omg this reminds of that article last year that suggested Sam for a prince in a potential live action Disney (sometimes you find some good articles on Sam, even when they're not written by me). He did play a prince charming character, William in Snow White and the Huntsman (my beloved. If William has one fan it's me, if he has zero fans, I'm dead), which is a darker take on the fairytale and he's not there as much as he should be, imo, bc, I suspect, they had Chris Hemsworth in his early Thor days so ofc they focused on him (tbf, he is the titular huntsman). Then, and I'm the only person who will tell you this: if you close one eye and squint with the other, Philip in Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides is a near thing to a prince, though he's a priest/missionary. If you just take out his story with the mermaid, it has something in common with the little mermaid tale. (This long introduction serves no purpose other than satisfying my urge to ramble about Sam Claflin, but you enter the blog of a Sam Claflin fan at your own risk). Okay, grab a snack bc I'm really into this idea!
I’ve always liked Cinderella, my mum used to read me a lot of fairytales when I was a child. I’ve not seen the Disney version until I was about 9 (I grew up in communism so we didn’t have Disney, it all arrived after the revolution.) Personally I prefer the 2015 live action one. But the Cinderella film that is really my Cinderella is Three Wishes for Cinderella (1973), a Czech/East German production. It’s considered a Christmas film bc it features a lot of snow and it’s always shown on TV during Christmas time. Norwegians did a remake in 2021 but it didn’t seem to meet with much love. (And rightly so, it’s like remaking Princess Bride. It just should not be done.) A actress named Camila has played a Cinderella—Camila Cabello. There was a lot to like about her version, but I felt it was kinda too self aware and besides, they should have just made it gay. Ever After, otoh, is outstandingly good. (This paragraph serves no purpose other than letting me go on about Cinderella, but you enter a blog of a person who rambles a lot on your own risk.)
I think Cinderella having an evil stepbrother instead of evil stepmother and stepsisters is a good choice, it’s something new. So we imagine Camila in the Cinderella role, all the parents/step-parents dead and Nicky as the stepbrother who lords over the manor and mistreats everyone. Camila can hold her own against Nicky, but she is cautious about setting him off too much bc she is worried he will hurt people she cares about, like all the tenants that live on their grounds. Camila has always been caring towards all of them, when their children got ill, for example, she would go to this herbalist and buy herbs and made them tea, etc. Karen is the steward’s daughter and Camila’s bestie.
Daisy is a young bard who wanders the kingdoms with her lute and sings songs of princesses and knights and dragons and all that kinda stuff. She is very popular wherever she turns up.
Billy is the king, who has just ascended to the throne after the death of his father. He had a strained relationship with his father, bc he used to cheat on his mum, whom Billy was very close to. She has died too and Billy has been a somewhat bitter young man. Teddy Price is the loyal king’s advisor and a better father figure to Billy than his own dad ever was. Rod Reyes is the captain of the guards. Graham is a young knight who lives at the court and is Billy’s bestie. They go riding and hunting together. One day in the woods they meet a young lady rider, who is totally not impressed by Billy, king or no king, she is like, I should think someone in your position should have better manners, YOUR MAJESTY. Billy can’t believe the impertinence but Graham is ROFL-ing at it. The young lady rider is ofc our Camila, but Billy doesn’t know who she is. (Going with the Three Wishes and 2015 versions of Cinderella, also Kate and Anthony of Bridgerton meet cute.)
As with any Cinderella adaptation, a ball is organised where the prince king is to meet his future wife. Billy wants it done and over with, bc he supposes he needs a queen and heirs, but Teddy has a talk with him about how marriage needs to be a mutual respect and understanding, even when it comes to kings, but Billy retorts that it wasn’t like that with his parents. Teddy tells him it doesn’t have to be like that with him.
The young king’s mood is not improved by a conflict with a neighbouring kingdom. Their princess has gone missing, right under the nose of the regent, Eddie. The two kingdoms were always at loggerheads (over a piece of land or resources, pick whatever you like) and it’s only gone worse. There’s even a threat of war, but luckily their foreign affairs minister, Warren, manages to calm the matters down with his amazing diplomacy skills. He and Billy’s kingdom foreign affairs minister, Lisa, find an understanding—in more ways than one, lololol.
Billy meets Camila again in the woods, this time they’re friendlier to each other. She apologises to him for her previous behaviour, bc she really shouldn’t be like that with her king, but he says he deserved it. He asks her who she is but she rides away without telling him. Billy can’t stop thinking about her.
The day of the ball approaches. Nicky won’t hear of Camila going to the ball and locks her in her quarters. This is when the Fairy Godmother Simone enters the scene. You know the drill. Karen is coming to the ball too, bc the palace also has another ballroom for the middle classes, and that’s where Karen goes. Karen’s dad, the steward, is driving them to the palace in a carriage (not pumpkin-shaped, that’s a Disney invention. It’s normal carriage.)
The ball takes place, Camila and Billy meet there so he finally knows who she is and they dance together, yadda yadda. Midnight strikes, but they keep dancing, bc we’re adults here. Also, it turns out Simone is actually the lady who organised the ball, she was friends with the late queen, she just side hustles as a Fairy Godmother. Also that herbalist that Camila has been buying from is her gf Bernie. That’s how Simone knew Camila was good and deserved her help.
Graham takes a peak into the other ballroom, likes it better, dances with Karen and falls for her. Now, you know how much it matters to me that Karen ended up single on DJATS, but I don’t object to her and Graham together in an AU, so here you have it.
Camila explains the situation with Nicky and tells Billy she doesn’t want to abandon her people bc they need her, so she can’t marry him. Billy is determined to sort the situation out. He comes to their manor the next day and has it out with Nicky, who ends up falling head first into a horse manure and everyone sees it and laughs at him. Nicky has no choice but to leave the kingdom in disgrace. The manor then can be managed by the steward and Camila and Billy can get married.
The problems with the neighbouring kingdom don’t just go away, Lisa and Warren only managed a temporary peace. But this, too, gets solved one day when their princess returns. Sure enough, this is Daisy, who has been LARPing as a bard by way of running away from her responsibilities. But seeing king Billy mature in such a way (bc she was in his kingdom just when all of the above was happening) inspired her to get her own shit together. She says sorry to Eddie for tricking him like that, but he is just relieved that she’s home and safe. The two kingdoms sign a treaty and all is well.
Oh and also Rod came with Billy that day Billy went to Camila’s place to confront Nicky and he met Karen’s dad the steward, who is a widower, and they fell in love. Everybody’s coupled up and happy, and isn’t that what fairytales are all about?
Bonus: Actually. Not that anyone asked but. I do have an OC whose faceclaim is Sam and who is a prince. I never found a faceclaim for his love interest, but she is someone who is the type like Camila Morrone. So I just decided it's her. These character have lived in my head for a long time, though I've so far written only one short piece with them which is posted on my writing blog. Link. Maybe this ask is not the place to talk about my OC, but you enter the blog of a writer on your own risk. (Feel free to ignore!)

Writing Tips: The Chosen One
The Chosen One is one of the most popular fantasy tropes. It represents a wish-fulfillment of the reader.
Types of Chosen Ones
Prophecy Chosen: Characters like Anakin Skywalker and Harry Potter are thrust into their roles due to vague prophecies. They learn about their destiny at the same time as the audience, often struggling with self-doubt and pressure.
Literally Chosen: Heroes like Po and Midoriya are selected by someone or something to receive special powers. Sometimes, the chooser can be fallible, leading to conflicts and even villainous characters who were once chosen.
Chosen Wielder: Think of King Arthur, Green Lantern, or Thor. They are chosen to wield a special item or power that only they can use properly. This often comes with the responsibility of being a successor to a previous wielder.
Chosen Incarnation: Characters like the Avatar or Vishnu embody a cosmic power and are born when a cosmic duty needs fulfillment. They face high expectations set by their previous incarnations.
One True King: Simba or Aragon. Historical and inconsistent, these characters are often meant to be rightful heirs or divinely empowered rulers. They usually come from a long line of potential kings.
Complex Story Elements
Two or More Chosen Ones: When there are multiple chosen ones, it can create a dynamic where heroes and villains clash, each believing they are the true chosen one.
Taking Down a Chosen One Villain: Sometimes, prophecies can come true in unexpected ways, leading to interesting plot developments, such as a villain becoming a Chosen One.
Self-Doubt Plot: Characters may grapple with impostor syndrome or struggle under the weight of their destiny. Sometimes, they might not be the chosen one after all, leading to themes of trust and self-discovery.
Rejection and Acceptance of Chosen One Status: Characters like Moana may initially reject their destiny but eventually embrace it, adding depth to their character development.
Disruption of Normal Life: As seen in Harry Potter and Troll Hunter, being the chosen one can disrupt a character's normal life, leading to tension and growth.
Balancing Supporting Characters
To give supporting characters their own tension and prevent them from feeling overshadowed:
Provide each supporting character with their own dramatic storyline that runs parallel to the chosen one's journey.
Create conflicts within the supporting cast that do not solely revolve around their chosen-ness.
Consider scenarios with multiple chosen ones, but be cautious not to dilute the story's tension and unpredictability.
Distinguishing the Chosen One
Avoid making your Chosen One feel like a one-dimensional character defined solely by their destiny.
Character Arcs: Make them resist their destiny, and emphasize the impact of their choices. Give the Chosen One personal challenges and arcs unrelated to their destiny, such as defending loved ones or facing moments of cowardice.
Personality: Establish the Chosen One as a person first, and Chosen One second, so readers know who they are as individuals.
Reactions to Chosen-ness: Show how the Chosen One reacts to their destiny in a way consistent with their character traits. Maybe they are unwilling to sacrifice themself or their friends to achieve their destiny. Or is willing to make all manner of sacrifices to achieve it.
Struggles: Let the Chosen One face challenges unrelated to their prophecy to humanize them and showcase their growth. Let them struggle to master their powers. Present moral dilemmas that challenge the character's philosophy and values.
Conflict Arising from Chosen-ness: Be mindful of the types of conflicts the Chosen One faces due to their chosen status, including ignoring the prophecy, dealing with ostracization, managing dynamics with the supporting cast, and meeting the responsibilities of a Chosen One.

Hi:) I love your writing so so much. Gorgeous characterisation, intelligent prose, etc! Just wondering if would you like to share your thoughts on Nottmort and Tomarry for that ask game👀 (and more specifically on Harry as a character, if you’d like, because I adored him in Made of Clay but I am also aware he probably isn’t a favourite character of yours, so I’m a little curious why, is all.) Thank you and have a nice day💗
Thank you for such kind words! ❤️ They’re lovely to hear. I’ll refer you in part to my past posts that touch on Harry, and also encourage you to send me a DM (here, Discord, wherever) if you want to chat in more depth! I love chatting. For the ask game, I’ll stay on the ships and limit it to a reasonable length.
Why don’t you ship Tomarry?
Because I dislike it and every trope that underlies it, and then at a certain point it became a matter of stubbornness and frustration as a Tom Riddle fan who did not ship it.
What would have made you like it?
I cannot give a fair and equitable answer to this! My dislike is as calcified as the tropes within Tomarry, lol. I will note that I rarely ship enemies-to-lovers, and so any possible way that I might ship this loses one of the essential pillars of their canon dynamic. I think that’s generally unsatisfying, as both an author and a reader, and so it’s best that I don’t try and find a vision of Tomarry which would work for me.
Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?
It’s the big ship for Tom, and I appreciate it so much when a Tomarry reader stumbles into my rare pairing corner and decides to give my writing a shot. Fewer people would be reading niche Tom fic if not for Tomarry’s popularity.
What made you ship Nottmort?
I accidentally walked into it through a fic that was meant to be another pairing tbh. But really, it’s the flexibility that appeals to me—Thoros isn’t even his real name, for goodness’ sake, it’s totally a fan construct. Nott Sr. exists as whatever I want him to be because there isn’t any canon to contradict that. We’re not going to have slap fights about correct characterization for Nott Sr. And what that amounts to is that I’ve gotten to create my own character, with exactly the traits I most enjoy, to pair up with Voldemort. It could have been some other surname-only Death Eater of that generation, so it having been Nott comes down to circumstance. Now that it is Nott, I’m never giving him back. Nott Sr. belongs to the canon of Harry Potter; my Thoros belongs to me.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
I love that Thoros is just as selfish as Voldemort—his key difference is that he expands the self out to encompass Voldemort as well, and Theodore in universes where Theo is born. It’s an interesting model for Voldemort to encounter, to have to reckon with; this is a man who suggests that it’s possible to have and maintain friendships, to function within normal society, all without adopting the moral values that someone like Albus argues are necessary. And Thoros isn’t hypocritical about it in the way that e.g. Mrs. Cole might have been, demanding virtues of Tom that she did not possess.
I love that a life with Thoros requires Voldemort to ask what his values actually are, and how he wants to prioritize him. My Thoros is stubborn enough to say ‘no’ when asked for something he’s unwilling to give, and so Voldemort is forced to confront that he cannot live eternally with Thor by his side. If it’s love, and Voldemort always does know that it’s love, then he must make a choice about what love is worth to him.
And the devil is in the details—these characters are peers, of the same age group; they spend formative years together; they have many of the same acquaintances and cultural references; they respect one another; they are both academically-inclined and value knowledge in the same way. There are a lot of similarities, which make the philosophical questions stand out more and feel possible to reconcile, or even make them feel worth reconciling.
Ultimately, I crafted Thoros to be exactly the partner I want for Voldemort. That’s cheating, I know. I fell in love with Thoros in his own right, though, and I take that as a success.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Unpopular versus… myself? Lol. I suppose it’s generally unpopular to write something other than enemies-to-lovers romance for Voldemort, but I’ll always make the case that there’s a huge world of relationships beyond enmity, and opening up to those gives a much wider range of potential tension points or disagreements on which to base a story.
