this is such a ramble but I fucking love Shar. I'm just rereading her lore and she's such a fascinating deity: the bitterness!!! the petty jealousy!!! the genuine nihilism and desire for everyone to become a blank slate, and yet the feasting on pain that comes from some of the strongest human emotions!!! the story in the lore text 'the Unclaimed'!! where someone dedicates her entire life to her and does so perfectly, and then Shar doesn't come meet her in the afterlife in order to teach her even more about loss-

honestly i would love to do a SH corruption playthrough bc I think successful Sharran worship (being god's specialest princess AND getting to keep your one selfishness in your lover) is one of the sexiest concepts in the game.... but it also proves what a FUCK YOU it is, to just keep Shar's mark: "oh, you want me to 'free myself' from you through choosing grief and loss? well, what if the pain you make me suffer is actually an act of dedication - not to you but to who I've chosen to be in spite of you, and the thing you used to lay claim to me is now price I pay to stay rooted in the community you tried to deny me and the family I've chosen"
