Welp it’s not Halloween anymore (and actually these pictures are from last year hkkhljhl) but who give a shit y'all wanna see my goofy lil Sam costume :D if you were here for my Halloween stream then you already saw this but if not then LOOKIT MY SUIT BOY

Fun fact, I made all this last year and meant to post it then but I was just too lazy whoops. So I'm tryin to do better this time around, lmaoooo. Anyway yeah! Samb costume!! If you wanna hear how I made some of the elements for this and gathered up the rest, feel free to check out my ramblings under the cut :Dc

This was such a fun project. A lot of elements were of course just staples of businesswear, like I found the suit jacket at H&M and the pants at Target (and hemmed them because I love men's pants but they don't love my short-ass legs), but some parts were a bit more complicated. The hat, for example, I also found at Target, but it had the wrong kind of band, so I just took that off and hand sewed on a length of wide black ribbon in its place. I ain't no milliner or haberdasher or what have you but I feel like it came out pretty ok! And the ears were an element that I figured would be a fun addition lol, they are made of fleece I believe? I forget. I gave them a bit of soft stuffing so they're basically two soft pillows, and then safety-pinned them into the inner brim of the hat--that way I can look like a normal person if I ever decide to wear the hat in public lmao.

The tie was an absolute delight to work on. And also torture. Y'know, kind of a 'why not both' moment. I ended up reverse engineering a tie I already had and cannibalizing its inner fabric to make the new one, since I knew I wasn't going to wear the original. The new tie is made with a silky blue fabric that isn't silk that I don't remember what it is because I have a sponge for a brain. Sorry ^^; But basically I replaced the original outer part of the tie with my new fabric and sewed her up by hand (it's not really a machine job as far as I can tell), then painted on the stripes with watered down black fabric paint. I had hoped that watering it down would prevent it from making the fabric stiff, but that didn't end up working because it required so many layers to be opaque, oof. There's probably better ways to go about it, so if you're making your own Sam tie it's worth it to do some more research! Plus, they do sell regular blue ties out there that you could paint. I'm just insane. And tbh I wish I had just bought one but at least I can say I've made a tie now lmaoooo

And I suppose the last element of this is the paper bag Max puppet! I love him so dearly, he was a delight to make ^^ I'd tell you how to make him but why do that when obviously I learned from the original? Make sure to put one in your car ok it's really important

God I love this comic. And I also dearly dearly love how faithfully they adapted it in the cartoon <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

Anyway that's it that's all I got!! Also because I've never worn this thing out of the house it doesn't have shoes to go with, I just got some brown socks. I figure it fits with Sam as a shoe-hating person lmaooo. ok that's all bye thanks for looking hope y'all had a happy Halloween!!!!

THE GODS HAVE GIVEN ME AN ASK!!!!

Okay okay starting with Colly hcs (because I don't think I have that many Cuphead ones)

These two would be such a chill fucking couple, but definitely capable of chaos every once in a while (it's Holly's fault lol). I like to think, in a relationship that Holly does get Cup into reading after at least getting him to try exploring some genres. Anything crime related is usually his go to though he did finally start branching out into other stuff. Ideally on a good day he's reading something from the adventure genre. After a decade spent involved in actual crime reading about stories, even if they're fictional, involving murders, killers, etc wears on him mentally and emotionally so he doesn't really read that anymore.

Snuggle time for these two is a must but it's usually initiated by Cuphead because he's touch-starved. Not that Holly's complaining, unless he's literally sweating in which case fuck that. And yes, this does mean that Holly is the big spoon in their relationship. Always. It's comforting for Cup, and sometimes when his mental health decides it's wants to plummet for no reason he just kinda flops near wherever she is. Sometimes "snuggling" for these two literally just means knowing the other is in the same room as them. Alive. Breathing. Especially for Cuphead who would still get the occasional nightmare of the Devil coming for him and taking everything he has away, including Holly. So it's nice to just sit on the floor and lean his head against the back of her chair if he knows she's working on something at her desk.

Because of everything involving Hat and his experiments done on him Cup's fear and unease around doctors does in fact extend to psychiatrists as well. So seeing a therapists is still incredibly hard for him. Enough that they had to settle for 40 minute sessions cause that's the amount of time Cup was willing to spend in a shrink's office. The first time he agreed to an hour session he got so antsy he was basically pacing the room like a caged animal. They went back to 40 minute sessions after that lol. Also, I do think Cup has other nervous ticks if he doesn't have a cigarette on hand. Which is probably why it took so long to get him to stop smoking. Because when he wasn't he was irritable and a nervous wreck. Best solution Holly could find was incense, but then when they got Dagger (wounded stray kitten Cup found and took in as a pet) she went back to regular scented candles. Somehow, that seemed to quell his anxieties.

Also they got an apartment instead of a house. Only cause Cup didn't like the idea of being in one and it wasn't like they were planning on having kids anytime soon like the others so it was more of "yeah sure why the fuck not".

I will say it here and now that these two have gone on sooooo many vacations. Listen that money that Cup has saved up for a rainy day. Null and void his Princess wants to go to fucking Japan so that's where they're going now. Whatever his queen wants ✨️

Too chill for fancy outings, I think they'd just hangout at cafés, diners, or try finding new street food to eat. Also concerts?? Soon as those become a thing fucking yes obviously (it was a one time thing and they both hated lmaooo). Fancy restaurants are reserved for anniversaries or special occasions when Cup wants Holly to fucking REST FOR ONCE. Because oh yeah she's not her mom entirely but she is a workaholic like her so yeah it's Cup's designated duty to drag her from her desk to bed. And hide the coffee on the highest shelf where she can't reach (this has never stopped her btw).

Also! Mentioning spooning again? Surely not me. Surely not I. As it stands, when they are going to bed, Holly gets to be the little spoon which works just fine for Cup cause it's the only way he can keep her contained (Holly sleeps like a fucking starfish okay and her hair being as long as it is means it's splayed out EVERYWHERE by the time morning rolls around)

Last thing I'll mention and it's a Cuphead hc is that I don't see Cup becoming a detective once he's able to be free from the Devil. Tbh I don't know WHY that's such a popular idea in the fandom because it seems completely antithetical to his character to me. You spent a decade involved in crime and committing the worst crimes a person could committ, just so you can jump right back into that but this time solving them? And we're supposed to assume that Cuphead has no problems with that? As an AU it's fine but canon-wise if you ask me I think he would work perfectly as a volunteer with animals. Either at a sanctuary, or at least at a shelter. I see him working at a shelter personally because that fits him. It's calming, he gets to spend time around cute animals, AND he gets to chew out irresponsible owners for not taking better care of their pets. It's a win-win!!!

(Okay I KNOW I just said I was done but rq I do think Cup knows a lot about animals as much as he does about astrology. But he doesn't get to usually gush about that so he's hiding his power level from everyone lmao)

Not gonna lie with you Chief, it took me longer than it probably should’ve to realize that you were using “Karuma” for the second half of the ship name lmaooo (very jovial)

But headcanons for Gregory and Manfred!!! I have those in spades! I won't go into tooooo much detail because we'll be here all day but I can give you some I sent to my partner! But as always I must preface; this is mostly based on vibes, certain lines I cannot quote off the top of my head, and fanfic-- because both characters and their backstories have not been TOUCHED let me see how they GOT HERE

In actual canon, my guess is that they met for the first time during the IS-7 incident. More specifically, the first time they’ve actually TALKED.

However, this alone is boring; So I imagine they’ve seen glances of one another in the courtroom. On Gregory’s end, he has seen von Karma in passing, fresh from the courtroom, going into battle, or going over something in the lobby and scowling, given a polite nod to the man or a nice tip of his hat if he was wearing it and mostly classified MvK as “older gentleman with nice taste in clothing.” if he ever sees him again.

MvK on the other hand might have heard of Gregory in passing? Extremely good defense attorney who regularly beats prosecutors; that’s not saying he’s perfect, that would catch the older man’s attention after all, but MvK has probably heard of him and his Justice filled ways and gone “bah. these fools don’t know how to prosecute that’s all, and he’s a naive fool.” If SEEING him without first noticing his badge, might politely nod back or huff a breath in lieu of greeting. If seeing his badge, 100% a nearly uncontrolled sneer. A mere defense attorney. A bug to crush.

And if later down the line Gregory wants to be that cool bug that Manfred studies closer and finds interesting, that’s his own damn business, thank you very much /lh

The only way I see them happening would be if Manfred's wife was either divorced or dead; He brags about his wife's cooking in a contest about baking that man is a wifeguy fo sho

Anyways

They are court rivals!

They match each other blow for blow, which means whatever Manfred’s brand of insane is that trial, Gregory is ready to go with it and turn the tide, and even if he doesn’t win (perfect win streak), the crowd goes away with a sense of “wow. Von Karma was really on the ropes a couple of times.” and Manfred HATES IT. Not the crowd’s whispers— but now people know there’s someone who can actually MATCH his damn insanity and that riles him up to the point of bloodthirsting lust

Gregory ALSO hates it but for a different reason; he's fighting for his gawddamn life with these cases, doing his best as a defense and usually coming so so close but missing just that little something, and von Karma wins.

But he’s stubborn. He will get people their Justice, and he WILL literally die trying so help him gods. That stubbornness extends to von Karma; he WILL win against this man one day, and he’s tenacious and firm, so one day, it WILL happen.

On other hand.. he’s also interested in the amused expressions and sometimes even delighted smile that pops up on extremely brief and rare one second occasions when Gregory pulls a trap of his own or turns von Karma’s trap around; It’s a predator amused that his prey thinks it can win, but playing along and once again trapping the poor creature, but he can’t deny that the expressions make him pause for a moment. Von Karma is very intrigued as he is incredulous about Edgeworth; the fact he only smiles when cornered, so deadly serious and matching fire with fire, a little bit of a nerd! What is this man and why is he so amused by him? He's gonna have an aneurysm

Outside of the courtroom, there’s not much interaction. But… on occasion, they will cross paths while investigating, and almost make a game of it.

They’ll bicker, snip at each other, get close to violence on a couple cases, occasionally even laugh at a stupid/funny comment the other made, quip and quote back and forth like their lives depend on it and should they fail they’ll disintegrate.

Most detectives, especially Badd, the one they most regularly have to deal with, have caught onto this and stay the FUCK out of their way; no matter if von Karma demands they don’t let Gregory onto the scene, they find out later he snuck past them and is up to his thighs in a mystery he’s two thirds of the way figured out

Meanwhile von Karma is already ‘hiding’ witness testimonies and figuring out what he might need to smudge to keep the 'innocents' safe and the 'culprits' put away. While this is a tried and true tactic, and a very welcome one, if he can get away with not doing those things, he prefers it.

Gregory on the other hand, has a notebook for every case he’s been on with MvK as the prosecutor because every time they go against each other he needs to write down every thought that comes to mind in regards to the case. In other cases not against Manfred, he’s decimated the prosecutions arguments before they get off the ground thanks to having to deal with the god of prosecution. But he goes over these notebooks and regularly writes new theories and ideas on what might’ve actually happened, or if he came across the truth and was unable to prove it, circles it, and when they're all actually solved, he closes that notebook permanently.

On the extremely rare occasion that they have NO culprit, but there’s a crime they’ve been assigned to, they have tossed theories at one another, simple to try and one up each other of course. But it’s a different kind of race and game. It’s slower, much more careful.

Manfred once couldn't get to a crime scene up on a hill because it was a terrible pain day and Gregory said nothing about it as he supported Manfred’s almost full weight and let him recover before they actually approached the police and the scene. They never bring it up again and Manfred hates the fact that it even happened, but Gregory soon after finds a small gift basket and a note that says “tell no one. they will never believe you.” and Edgeworth keeps the note.

Gregory is a very calm and chill man, but he has on multiple occasions yelled in true anger at Manfred for certain topics, and Manfred purposefully doesn’t bring those topics up again unless truly relevant, which is almost never.

Manfred absolutely hates Gregory the way you hate a dog. Gregory hates Manfred the way you hate a season.

Like I said earlier in the post; Manfred brags about her cooking! Wifeguy for sure. Her cooking may not be "perfect" but it's made with a genuine effort and a love of the task/people it's made for, so it's perfect to him, goddamnit all, and he will stand by this until he dies

This is all not to say that she's perfectly fine with her husband's bullshit; she calls him out when he gets too Into It

Definitely challenges her husband in more than one way-- whether it be verbally, mentally, or maybe even physically in a sparring match when they were younger and Manfred's leg didn't act out as much!

Manfred fr wouldn't have it any other way; he strikes me as the kind of guy who would decay rapidly without a proper challenge in some way or another (enrichment for the caged tiger in his enclosure please)

I could definitely see her being the one that completely and utterly endorse her youngest daughter wielding a riding crop as little more than two so even she could defend herself

why is body back called body back 👀

So I have this funny thing where I can’t really write something without a title (one of my favourite singers said this once years ago and I was like ??? couldn’t be me & now it’s me lol), so the minute I figured out I wanted to write BB, I headed to my book titles document. I literally just went through the list till I found one that vaguely worked with the themes LMAO and that was BB! I originally thought I’d come up with this title for a poem about me, but I realized that may have been the goal, but that actual title comes from a line in Seventh Virtue (in Reeve’s POV).

She’s not sure how the realization comes to him. If she’s that translucent now, unable to hold her own secrets like she’s unable to hold wine or her own body back.

This is from the penultimate chapter!

Anyway, how I view it in BB, it’s about how can Harrison, after this really destructive romance, find his body back. He doesn’t really feel alive in BB, & struggles to even connect to himself physically post-Lonan. BB is like an oath to himself & indicates a sense of vengefulness. I title dropped it in 24k Harrison with that idea in mind.

To see the BB drop we also need to see the “body gone” drop that prompts Harrison to even think about the phrase “body back.”

And where is [Jeremiah] now? In the artificial light, Harrison hunts for him too—but he’s not in the unhinging bathroom stalls, not in the teal grout, the running sinks, and maybe he never existed at all, missing like Jesus in the tomb—body gone, body gone, body gone.

The above line is inspired by a poem I wrote (WHICH funnily is about the weekend I started writing BB in my freezing apartment lmaooo) where I talked about the stolen body hypothesis (which is v interesting if you haven’t looked into it). I recycled that here because Jesus is such a huge part of Harrison’s psychology in BB. While googling bits of his burial, etc, I came across this line from Wikipedia:

“Although Jesus' body had been laid out in the tomb after crucifixion and death, the tomb is found to be empty, the body gone…”

That phrase “body gone” was like YES PERFECT—I hadn’t thought about title dropping BB until that point but “body gone” and “body back” seemed like a match made in heaven. This idea of “body gone” repeats for a second time and which leads us to the BB drop:

He approaches the mirror, jolts at the way he touches himself—more carefully than he’s ever been touched before. Who are you? he wants to say. He’d like to leave this place now, the club, Las Vegas, the earth. He’d like to buy himself a pet tarantula, run off a cliffside, eat a tub of ice cream with his bare hands. Why did he come here again? His mind is so quiet. This could be peace. But who is he? In Jeremiah’s bathroom he knew, but now there’s this stranger ahead of him, the person who must be him—someone’s chandelier earring grazing his jaw, the cowboy hat lopsided, mascara running down his cheeks even though he hasn’t cried. Where did you go? he mouths, but he knows. He’s disappeared also like Jesus in the tomb, his limbs vanishing one by one, his skin melting off his hands—body gone, body gone, body gone. He grabs his cheeks, panicked because he’s on fire, gold tossed into the crucible. He’s going to burn to ash. He’s going to need a burial soon. His face has been stolen, his breastbone and knuckles too. A month ago, someone spat him into a basket like his body was ripe for the offertory—body gone, body gone, body gone.

“Back,” Harrison says, nose grazing the spattered mirror. His chest swells, and maybe he is burning, and maybe he’s right here, hidden somewhere in the pinprick of his reflection. “Back,” he repeats. He isn’t thoughtful. He isn’t profound. Maybe that’s fine. He squeezes his tear-duct, sticks out his tongue. He’ll die eventually, let his body disappear, but not right now. “Body back, body back, body back.”

Basically, Harrison hates the idea of “body gone” because he KNOWS his body is “gone” too, disappeared in an interaction with the alleged divine (Lonan lol). He’s looking at himself for the FINAL time in 24kH (and remember, he does this A LOT in this chapter, so this is just an even bigger moment for him), and he doesn’t see someone he knows. He’s seeing a really hollow stranger & he asks himself “where did you go?” but knows already—his body is gone, part of it left with Lonan.

And he REALLY doesn’t like that. Hence, then muttering “body back, body back, body back” because he’s like “NO, my body is not gone, it is BACK, I am getting it back—it’s MINE now.”

URMMMMMMM. a lot of sae's best memories are really tame i think bhgfdghdfj just moments where she could sit back and say Yeah. I am Completely Happy :) BUT the BEST one i think is one she recounts a lot just bc she reallyyy felt like she had found peace. the fishing village near her afi's home holds a yearly festival for fisherman's day that she LOVEESSSS. and IF MY TIMELINE IS CORRECT she got an award i believe in 2012 (??) for her achievements and contribution to her community . and when the festival was over she got to have a long chat with her afi up on a mountain top overlooking the ocean and she holds that conversation very dear to her heart :]

(forgive me for being vague theres still a lot to be revealed in the rp hgdfjkggfdsjk!!) shes got a few but the WORST one she remembers suppperrrrr vividly just because everything seemed to happen all at once, the town she was living in was going through one of the WORST thunderstorms it had ever had, and she was seconds away from doing something SO rash . GOD awful day for a thirteen year old to have. BUT it was the catalyst for some major changes in her life, so while she would never go back and do that all over again sae can at least acknowledge that it switched what direction her life took DRASTICALLY. it led her to where she is today but that definitely doesnt mean she looks back at it with any sort of fondness gbhdgbsdf

her afi and amma were her legal guardians for the majority of her teenage years! and anybody within a five mile radius knows that she LOVES those guys. she takes so much influence from her afi particularly and holds him on a very high pedestal of how she should be behaving and what traits she should portray, just because he is an incredibly patient and wise man. her late amma also influenced her a LOT in terms of hard-work and dedication to others, and when she passed it only caused sae to work even harder to support her afi. not to mention sae truly considers her afi to have saved her life which means she feels she owes a LOT to him ghfdjkg

Exactly, cuz like. I got pity-broke three times by F!Edelgard back when I was trying to get my +10 F!Dimitri during their release, and she pity broke me again on an entirely different banner months later. She has re-ran so many times by now, including literally right now. She is by no means rare or particularly valuable - hell, with the sheer amount of counters made for specifically her she's not nearly what she once was anymore. But because she has the reputation of breaking the game in half - which, mind, she very much did before, she's just way easier to deal with now - people keep trying to push her into shit she's got no business being in.

She will never win an AHR. Ever. Not once. She has no chance of ever doing that with her lacking fodder, easy accessibility, and watered-down utility. And because edelstans either don't know or don't care about that, they've effectively shot down any chance of any alt for Edelgard winning an AHR. Pretty much proven to be the case by S!Edelgard - seasonal, swimsuit, decent fodder, harmonic with another fan fave, has a neat niche no one else really has yet (triple Galeforce), and she still fuckin' lost. To pretty much literally anyone.

Like, I got Big Annoyed that Veronica had just beat out Embla (and, well, I am still kinda annoyed lmao), but in reality I am in fact way more annoyed that F!Edelgard snatched a spot from not just specifically Embla, but literally any other viable option. I remember a few people bein' genuinely shocked that Duo!Duma and Duo!Askr as well as Embla all failed to get a ranking, meanwhile here's this jingly-hat-wearin' JESTER of a unit at this point, getting in yet again despite everyone's clear disdain for her. There's a reason that Camilla, a character who has been shat on by the FEH community (as well as the general FE fandom honestly) for years, managed to tank a x12 multiplier and get the win, and it's cuz at this point people will take just about anything else over F!Edelgard.

Also not helped by them cryin' about how they're just so bullied by the FEH community, that Edelgard only ever loses because everyone just hates her and their fans for no reason. Nothing to do with their behavior, or their consistent inability to coordinate the VGs to save their lives - these nine losses were all because of unfair coin flips, or sabotage, or bullying, and all these other things that make them pitiable little darlings. he looks young, sure, but honestly i don't see him being EXTREMELY young. i've seen some people be shocked he turned out to be 27, but 1) he's a mercenary who kills people for money, they're not gonna let some random kid do that, and 2) when you hit your 20s you don't suddenly become some old and wrinkly hag LMFAO you look young!!! hell, i've met plenty of people pushing thirty who look like him in terms of age.

and he obviously doesn't look like a kid like i've seen some people say he does. he looks like an adult with a bit of a baby face. some of the confusion might also stem from the fact that he's a lot skinnier than many of the other mercs, which, fair. he doesn't have a lot of muscle, like a lot of teens don't. but that's because he's a runner. he's fast. that's his whole schtick - he's small and doesn't have a lot of muscle, but he can run really fast. he doesn't HAVE to be strong. he's just quick enough that the enemy can't punish him.

and here's sniper. from what i can tell from canon he's 30-31.

i might be crazy here but he doesn't look that old???????? especially compared to the other mercs?????

like, yeah, he looks older than scout by a bit. not only does he have stubble, but his face is just generally more defined, and the hat thing has him looking more Mysterious and thus more Adult. he also has a VERY deep voice.

but that's it? he just looks like someone who's age shows a bit more? i can see arguments that sniper looks like he's closer to 35, like sure yeah but once again he looks fairly young to me. let's compare him to medic, whose age varies a lot in terms of speculation but seems to be around his 40s to 50s.

stark difference. he's clearly older for a lot of reasons (face generally modeled to appear older using sharp lines and a large lower half, slight wrinkles, in some models it appears like his hair is greying, and he generally exudes an air of confidence and authority that generally comes with age). that's what a lot of the tf2 mercs look like. here's a lineup to show you what i'm talking about.

and all this is to say that i'm sick of people thinking characters are "gross" together because one of them happens to look a bit older than the other (even though they're like the same fucking age LOL) and i want people to be nice to sniper because it's really weird to look at some character that looks maybe 35 at MOST and say he looks so old that he's creepy??? and it's also a disservice to the modelers and artists who have portrayed sniper in various tf2 media.

star trek: strange new worlds s2 ep1

so i had a blast. yes, there were problems, but they were overwhelmingly overshadowed by the positives experience. this was the does of 23rd century trek i needed after the year wait, and i gotta cherish it while it lasts because there will be a WAY LONGER WAIT for s3 with the writers strike.

my favorite part of the episode were absolutely the klingons. the 90s look is back and better than ever with influences from discovery and a shocking amount of variety compared to actual 90s klingons considering how prominent they used to be. the makeup and costuming were even better than the trailer led me to believe we'd get.

the plot was basically what you might expect for a 90s season premiere: very broad implications for the galactic stage with not nearly enough elaboration. so it's exactly the same mental experience as a TNG klingon politics episode but not a two-parter. the real draw is in the crew and how they interact with the given plot.

the best part of the episode was spock. he's as emotional as he should be for a vulcan that is younger and inexperienced and who has removed some of the inhibitions and is recovering from that. the spock and chapel story gives that much more weight to their later years under kirk's command. and his following of the logic to order the destruction of the false flag and his immediate regret and grief over the apparent ordering of chapel and m'benga's deaths is the peak highlight of the episode. hats off to peck.

smaller positives are Pelia, and Carol Kane is as hilarious as her fans have declared. the Lanthanite idea seems to be their attempt at a Guinan, right down to the timing of her appearance in the series, but Pelia is instilled with so much personality that i just want to see more of this kooky immortal.

also loved that "crossfield" ship. it's CLEARLY a mid-23rd century luna-class made from mishmash parts, but i digress. its good to see more tos ship configurations and not constitution-class ships at different scales. more farraguts, less sombras.

m'benga finally has a dramatic character plot outside of his daughter, and a doctor suffering from having taken part in an interstellar war is a perfectly logical place to take him. same with chapel but to a lesser extent. i do think this will be retreaded territory by the time bashir comes back but it's all the better as a tos era story.

ortegas is fun as always, can't wait for her episode to finally come. uhura is growing into her role as comms officer. la'an drinks with the best of them and seems a little less guarded than before. i hate to see how she eventually departs from the enterprise by the time kirk takes command.

now pike and una have to hear about what the kids did with the station wagon when they were left unsupervised for literally 3 days lmaooo
