beginning with the promotional single, ENHANCED FLOWER, CERISE’s introductory album, GEMINI, paying homage to her zodiac sign, is raw in nature. with the title track, NEW, she introduces herself as an artist and embraces the idea of finding herself. she stated in an interview that she wrote the songs for GEMINI three years prior as a way to, sort of manifest her future, hoping that one day she’ll be able to live the life she writes about. NEW did well for a debut, garnering 15 million views in the first twenty four hours. the album sold 6,077 copies the day of release and 12,437 copies in its first week.

coming back 5 months later with KILL THE DAY, the album gained a lot more traction with its soft rock vibe. the title track of the same name received much more commercial success with many netizens saying that the style complimented her well and that she looked more comfortable on stage. CERISE even said that KILL THE DAY was one of her favorite songs she’s ever written. this album did better than her last, selling 35,729 copies the day of its release and reaching the 100,000 mark that week. this era has been marked as a “golden era” for her as she began to market herself as a stand-out artist.

she released LAST DANCE, LAST CHANCE in october of 2023 with the title track, LAST DANCE. with this album, she gained her first win on mcountdown and secured 2 more wins during promotions. while having a musical difference from KILL THE DAY, it was still received well by cherries and even non-fans. someone made an edit of the music video with the caption ‘female rage’ which went viral, gaining the song and music video even more popularity.

upon the 1st anniversary of her debut, CERISE dropped the digital single, RAISE A GLASS. the song serves as a thank you to fans and asks them to celebrate the milestone with her. the single wasn’t promoted as a regular comeback, instead just having a music video filmed on a digital camera. the video showed a more humane and childlike side to her as opposed to her mature image, even including predebut videos of her. despite the lack of promotion, RAISE A GLASS went viral and charted high for weeks due to the music video being heavily talked about and the song being used for sweet edits.

making an official comeback in 2024 with the mini album, BLACK SEA, this marks a shift in CERISE’s musical direction. with this album, she takes a much darker approach, taking inspiration from disney villains like ursula and mother gothel. she provides a dark and creepy aesthetic, making use of fire and the ocean. the album did slightly less as good than her previous comebacks solely due to the fact that the title track was completely in english and didn’t really favor the kpop market. korean netizens preferred other korean tracks from the album. however, the song garnered some traction in the western market, charting at #74 on the billboard global 200 chart.

Can't lie, armys are kinda useless right now. They love the idea of members continuously releasing but they don't have any fucks to give in actuality after week 1 even if they're competing with other fandoms especially now that they're all enlisted and we have such limited promo. The only hope one has is that Jimin has a great track record of making songs armys vibe to - they will not usually stream beyond a day unless they actually like it. If they end up loving the album though, that could fuel their competitive spirit.

Also to the anon that's worried about opps linking up, tbh it's not easy work to spend money or stream music even for fans. I doubt these people are doing anything extra for someone they don't even care about just because it harms Jimin. All they love doing is running their mouth on twitter and that's probably the extent of it. For skz, their endless variants are the only threat and for Lisa, the autoplay and playlisting she'll get. Unless they get some truly viral moment, based on history it seems unlikely we'll have to worry about them long term.

If skz decide to go the let's pollute the earth path and release a lot of versions, then a bb200 #1 will unfortunately be difficult. I can only hope BB might suddenly apply their anti-kpop bias with some handy filtering. They haven't so far but hope springs eternal (for me).

Also regarding 2 versions versus 3 - extra tools are handy and I desperately need Hybe to do their job but I'll always appreciate if an artist, when he has to choose between artistic sensibility and charts goes for the former. At least I know Jimin will never embarrass me as a fan with some transparent cash grab album or some empty music. Long term I think it's more valuable to build that kind of relationship with your audience and have that kind of reputation.

Lastly while I'm really hoping for some great debut numbers, the real lynchpin of Faces success was twofold - it's artistic merit that's acknowledged by almost all and it's lasting power. While Jimin is responsible for the former, I hope that longevity is our goal for Muse as well. The way Face and LC pulls streams more than a year after release with it's (comparatively) limited covers and remixes is actually amazing.

More than anything I'm excited to see what Jimins planned for his sophomore attempt. Will his pre-release be something experimental (for him) like last time? What kind of sound will he be going for? Can he live upto my frankly massive expectations built up after face? Are we all dead on about the 70s theming and how might that influence the tracks? Ahhh it's hard to wait for answers. New music in 10 days. That's crazy 😭

I’ve been thinking it to myself that armys have silently been waiting on some quality music from somebody, somewhere, to drop. They’re still churning out hit tweets about Like Crazy till this day. You’d be hard pressed to see an army wax on about prior releases the way they have about LC. You wouldn’t have even though Hobi dropped anything this year the way they don’t mention it. I have faith in my man that he’ll deliver, I do. Even if it doesn’t exceed Like Crazy I still believe it’ll be a good song.

Like I remember the estimates for FACE when they came out were like 105k-110k and we managed to bring it up to 164k by the end of tracking week when our competition at the time was Morgan Wallen and we had an almost 100k gap to bridge. I know we still didn’t beat him (atp it was an after thought cause Jimin got #1 on hot100 with LC 😭) but the work everybody put in back then? On level with a BTS comeback and although it was stressful it was still fun.

The #JIMINJIMIN and #MUSE hashtags on twitter have been trending for nearly 2 days now with 2M and 1.5M respectively, the interest is absolutely there. I also want longevity with MUSE cause to think LC will still be charting by the time the pre release come around is amazing. I don’t want MUSE to fall off quickly and I want it to be impactful just like FACE was.

If we could get more digital album versions (cause that’s really what it’s gonna take), I think we have a shot We’ll just have to see what MUSE’s estimates puts it at to gauge the effort we have to expend. I’m still first and for most here to enjoy the music cause I’ve been begging for it forever I don’t want charts to take up too much space. I think Jimin’s gonna be pulling from the people who inspires him in sound potentially. So not necessarily 70s but MJ, (and he’d actually do that man justice unlike the sorry attempts Hybe pulled last year 🥴) Neyo etc . and just genre hopping in general. But considering those two do a lot of RNB and pop, I’m really excited for it.

please I cant count how much 2 baddies and 1 porsche makes me cringe in fact any song that mention brand name or car name, just gives me the ick it seem kinda childish or overdone. even lisa song I think shes more good at fashion and conceptual based imagery than coming up with actual flow. flower is more my fave song in comparison bc i can listen to the whole song of jisoos with ease so its more pleasant for my ears to take

money for exampke was harsh to listen to except for that one segment that i think is the viral part of the song "my money moves" and so on was my fave bit. so in a way i do get why songs go viral for just that one part however i wish i could like the whole song rather than just one aspect of it and songs a getting too short for me to fully get into it. sometimes i also find skz music quite harsh on my sensitive ears. i want to love them as a group and i think theyre so funny and adorable / talented to watch as a whole but their songs just dont hit my vibes at all, currently ateez are my main loves but even their songs dont always hit and i think its more so the production (sorry joong i just dont like autotuned vocals in songs ok it only works for some instances not all of them. also im still waiting for more san solo stuff)

my problem with kpop as a whole is generally groups are getting too young thus so is their songs and its genuinely hard for me to find actual need to hard core stan a group if theyre like teens to early 20s bc i have such a huge age gap from them, come on kpop dont be like stale bread... and as older or same age groups go into military i kind of have to find someone else to follow in the mean time or i tend to find im prefering older music than current modern i guess tiktok related music.

my qualm with general music today compared to older music is i think i like how organic older music is or was in comparison, it was more naturally made than a computer made song not that they arent talented at what they do it just doesnt always vibe with me or sometimes the lyrics can be really off when u try to read them in english yet at the same time i get why these songs go viral but its not for the simple pleasures of listening to a good quality song. i think kpop when it sees what someone else is doing is popular someone else tries to replicate it instead of bringing something new or fresh in i actually think its terrified of being too individual and not standing out or not being viral

Idk but I LOVED money, I think it's better than Lalisa. Yeah I know it's not the best lyrically but it's too catchy, plus the dance is so fun! But yeah, I agree with you a lot. I like SKZ as a group but some of their songs are a bit too much for me. My favorite songs would be Domino, LALALA and Miroh. I think that their older work was better than what they're pumping out. (Sorry but their album with 5 Star was not it 😵‍💫 it was too obnoxious to my taste). Sure LALALA can be found obnoxious but idk, I think it's at a minimum, plus the instrumental is so freaking good! Yes I love ATEEZ!! I think they are a good example of more "unusual" songs that keep it to a minimum. The system is becoming like McDonald's, cheap stuff that don't leave you feeling the best after and takes your money (that's why Wendy's is better 😛). it’s easy to see in the way idols dress these days too if that makes sense? all very stylish but everyone can kinda blend together these days. like aespa drama (not the japanese idol inspired looks), baby monster sheesh, nmixx run for roses styling all looks interchangeable. groups don’t have a collective identity as much anymore.

groups like ive and nwjns have more distinction to me bc they’ll give us like one set of costumes that feel distinct each era but otherwise they’re the same wearing pretty looks but nothing that screams “we have a concept” they don’t blend in as much with the other groups mentioned but they also aren’t going for those vibes either

YOU ARE SO RIGHT WITH EVERYTHINGGGGGG ARGGG mhj was at her peak with SM, but i do believe she did an incredible job with the first NJ EP. It sounded like old kpop because it was a full concept. Now, with the new EP, I'm not so sure: I don't dig the musical style and I do believe they are viral songs, but aside of sounding very similar, I don't get the concept (although I do get the aesthetics). The girls are very talented but they don't shine in the vocals. Not because they aren't good vocalists (they are the best in HYBE) but because their tone is very similar, so if you put them with songs that made them sound very similar too you risk how they are going to receive the music. in the first EP, this worked because the girls had quite the same aesthetic (similar clothes, same hair) but for me it didn't work in the second becuase they were trying to point out their singularity while sounding the same. i don't know if it makes sense?

i do think there's a "blackpink aesthetics" nowadays. like, everyone dresses like blackpink. before, in the 3rd generation, every group dressed differently and according to the concept (the dresses in apple, by gfriend?? the horrible dresses in zimzalabim by rv??). in the 4th generation we get this kind of blackpink aesthetic becuase we have more "bad girl" groups and concepts, but it's still pretty cohesive, so i think, for example, that itzy or gidle works. but in the late generation + 5th... we'll see. even kiss of life dress a little bit the same as blackpink :'( i do think that aside from ive we should count stay c!!! they are the younger version of twice but with a punch!

(btw: can we comment on sheesh? i saw a lot of people saying that 'it sounded so differnet from blackpink' but... am i the only one that listens the same structure, same vocal tone?)

SAURR TRUE AND I HATE HOW THE MUSIC QUALITY IS GETTING WORSE BC OF IT! like we've already seen what happens when groups try to market in the west by even releasing english songs, prime example being bts. companies really have to understand that the western entertainment is very closed off and doesn't just allow anyone to be famous and liked among all locals. its something you can't force and has to happen naturally; if the locals like your song, they'll like it. you can't just release something with lots of english words and expect the locals or western audience to eat that shit up with no criticism. like i promsie you, your trash english rap won't make the girls go crazy (looking at soyeon in embarrassment) even bts isn't liked by many locals, even with all the accomplishment they have in the west, they'll never be taken serious on the same level as artist like doja cat, nicki minaj, kanye west etc. i wish companies would actually see that it isn't something that can be forced. most songs these days sound like they were purposely made for tiktok too (like you can't tell me left and right wasn't made so it could go viral on tiktok, EVEN THE DANCE WAS MADE EASY SO LOCALS COULD DANCE ALONG) and it honestly makes these groups less special and distinctive from one another like they used to be. can we just go back to the era where all these kpop songs were composed like these idols went through 15 heartbreaks? WHERE IS OUR FUNZIES MUSIC AGAIN?

these songs are very close in my mind. there’s something almost remeniscent of future funk, which a kinda deep bass that i’ve been extremely fond of recently

these two songs are also basically on the same tier, the only reason why oh is #3 is because yeah gaja 1 2 is so iconic. the rap in after the bloom has major potential to go viral too (it’s literally so so so good pls listen) if groos start the trend but i don’t see it happening yet, idk. 

5.) h&d - empty handed 

a chill bop. dohyon has a lot more lines in this one, which is nice (im a hangyul stan btw)

i also feel like the vibes suit hangyul’s voice more. he’s being pushed as a main vocalist when that’s not really his strength, but this song fits his range a bit better than their title tracks have.

6.) h&d - toward tomorrow

very similar to empty handed, just more vocally driven? it almost feels like they’re two versions of the same song. but whatever, i like it.

the raps in these two are very different but i love them both sm TT. horizon is just art (hongjoong is deadass one of my favorite male rappers in kpop, like #1 or #2) almost but not quite on the level of after the bloom and ddd’s rap is just cute and catchy af, one of my favorite loona raps in general. horizon’s whole flow as a song is just really nice as well.

9.) ateez - precious

precious’ bgm is just weird af, kind of like h&d’s intro now that I think about it? but i like it, whatever. it’s kinda weird because it has the feeling of being a really artsy song kinda stuck in a pop mode? idk

i also like the feeling that they infuse this song with. like it’s very...idk if motivating is the right word? but this song evokes some sorta weird hopeful emotion that ateez often strays towards that i’m pretty fond of

10.) h&d - good night 

she’s cute, not much to report tbh. dohyon also has more lines in this and this concept suits him more than soul, which is nice.

11.) h&d - unfamiliar*

i fully expected to hate this song and i kinda did when it came out but as i relisten i’m coming to appreciate it. it’s not something i’ll listen to a ton 

12.) h&d - make me a different person 

it’s pretty chill, a little more...i’m not sure what the word is. it’s definitely not trop house but the beat is certainly...bouncy. idk. i have to be in the mood to really enjoy that tbh.

the other weird thing is that the song- and almsot all of their songs now that i think about it- sound super melancholy in tone? but the beat is so bouncy, it’s confusing lol. and not in the kinda tongue in cheek sad lyrics happy beat kinda way, just...the melody or their voices are very...emotional? that’s maybe too much, but i’m having trouble describing it lol.

im deadass afraid to watch ateez’s choreo because anze (their choreographer) does such an amazing job (my favorites are wonderland and wave) but ateez/kq tend to change the tone or take away my favorite parts of the anze choreo so for my sanity i really can’t watch atz’s choreo. anyways im sure answer is great lmfao

gwsn - bazooka

bazooka is simple and wayyy less intricate than their other title track choreos but i for one appreciate a solid point dance when i see one. the bazooka move is simple, iconic, and very representative of the lyrics so i appreciate it a lot. i’ve missed the iconic and iconographic choreo that kpop used to be famous for

h&d - soul

my main gripe with h&d in general is that hangyul and dohyon are s u c h a weird duo. even though i liked their album wayyyyy way wayyyyy more than i expected i don’t think that they’re very marketable as a kpop duo. duos in general just aren’t great, profit really rolls in at around 5 members, unless you’re 1.) blackpink, or 2.) a subunit of a larger group, and h&d are neither. 

another huge complaint (which is basically the same as the first): h&d had like, 60 backup dancers in the mv i swear. are you telling me that not a single one of them can carry a tune??? not a single one. out of 60. there were some cute ones that i noticed in the stage performance. you couldn’t even eke out a sub rapper mbk, seriously?

also it’s very clear that they’re pushing hangyul as a visual, main vocal, main dancer, which is fine ish except there aren’t really enough rap breaks in the song for dohyon to shine like, at all? and he’s kinda always behind hangyul and it’s really noticeable bc there’s only two of them (and their army of back up dancers).

icb i used to be a lowkey dohyon anti and mbk’s treatment has me doing all this. jesus

loona - so what

i’m gonna keep it all the way real. so what feels (and looks, to me) complicated for the sake of being complicated. the girls worked so hard to learn and perform this choreo but to what end? there’s no iconic point dance, and orbits and experienced dancers will find it impressive but it’s not really accessible to the gp?

butterfly hit that balance between complex and iconographic, but i’m not sure about iconic.

//btw, this is my metric for iconic: if you and a bunch of friends who like the same group were told to do a dance move or strike a pose based solely on the title of the song (obviously assuming that everyone has watched the livestages and is a fan, etc) would you all do the same thing? that’s the beauty of the point dance: if a song has a clear point dance, you probably will. whether this is a strength that every kpop song needs is debatable, but it’s definitely important to me, with few exceptions.

SUPERM: REVIEWED

The whole genesis and roll-out of this group has been weirdly and relentlessly polarising right from the start. I had a lot of fear and mistrust at the start and like everyone else, it was pretty much a case of, “Who asked for this?!” But whatever, we might not have asked for it but we got it now so let’s review this thing.

1. JOPPING. This word is fucking awful. Jopping kinda sounds like Drop It, which would’ve been a better title for this.  Ugh. Stop trying to make this word happen, it’s not going to happen, Gretchen Weiners. But besides that, I really like it. It’s dumb kpop fun. The pre-chorus and chorus are sick. The instrumental is sick (and that intro is straight from the Avengers theme). The choreo looks great. They made the most of having like 1.5 vocalists. Reverb and stacked vocals on steroids and I dig it. Nobody is going to believe it but my favourite part is the way Jongin’s first verse slid right into Ten’s. Also, Jongin is the absolute centre of this group, the way he parted the river of kpop-minions like kpop-Moses was poetic cinema. I’d spend 40 days in the desert for him. 

2. THE MV. It’s very confusing. You can see where the budget went but at the same time, you can also see all these cheap tacky parts too. It’s a flex song that they filmed in Dubai but if they REALLY wanted to flex on ALL OF KPOP, I’d have spent the money on good lighting and a licence to film in the real colosseum in Rome. You don’t need CGI or anything. Just a sunset, some dry ice, a good lighting scheme and a camera crane. Now that would’ve been epic. Jopping is a stadium song and the MV didn’t really do it justice in my opinion. I’m also not a fan of fast choppy editing or grading it so dark that you can barely see anything. What’s the point of that? You put together a group of visuals and you spotlight with one lightbulb? I don’t care if you think it’s edgy Carol, I can’t see shit.

3. MARK LEE. I read all these comments about how Mark’s rapping only sounds good because everyone else is awful. I’m not sure where all these rap connoisseurs got their education from or if they need their hearing aides re-calibrated because he is by far the best rapper in SM and can hold his own against most other groups. There’s a reason he is in so many groups and sure, he probably sounds like an amateur if you compare him to Marshall Mathers III but honestly, all the Mark Lee erasure is so weird to me. 

4. MEMBERS. I felt like you saw enough of everyone except maybe Lucas, he didn’t really get any major lines. I’m glad it seemed relatively equal otherwise. Well, okay, I’ll stop lying: the Jopping MV is a total vehicle for Jongin and I’m really not mad about that. Anyways, it took me way too long to figure out that each group has their own mode of transport: EXO got their own helicopter. WayV have a tank. NCT have twin Aston Martins. Taemin got his own bike. I would’ve given the sleek cars to WayV because they’re Luxury Hoes. NCT should 1000% have a black tank. It’s only right Taemin gets a private yatch but they were in the desert so I’ll let that one go. 

5. THANK GOD FOR BAEKHYUN. That is all. 

6. ALBUM. It’s good. There’s something in it that reminds of early 2000s RnB. It’s not groundbreaking but it’s good and there’s an attempt at variety, which I appreciate. I genuinely think my positive reaction to SuperM is because I was expecting The Worst EDM Album ever. All the instrumentals are really good and sound heavy and complete, if that makes sense. Sometimes songs sound so unfinished and half-assed but I didn’t feel that on this one. If I had to rank the songs: Jopping-Can’t Stand The Rain-No Manners-Supercar-2fast. It’s funny actually because I think everyone expected me to HATE SuperM but I don’t. Maybe exams fried my brains or something. 

7. MARKETING. This is an essay in itself and I’ll keep it brief but: I hate it. I think the way SuperM were marketed and rolled-out really fluffed a lot of feathers in the kpop fan community and made people hate them before they even debuted. It’s a major flex that doesn’t necessarily have enough backing and I’m not entirely sure it will all work because it just seems like a desperate kind of cash-grab for a viral hit. I think some of the management choices around them have been horrible but that’s just my opinion. I wish them the best but can’t help thinking: what a waste of talent....

8. TAEYONG. Yeah I still love him. I stan a problematic idol but I’m a problematic person. So. *shrugs* I’m going to give him his own point. And not write anything else.

i do know both billlie and enhypen. in fact, i recently listened to billlie's entire discography because all my mutuals complimented them. my fave songs from them are moon palace, overlap and gingamingayo. i can't wait to see what the future holds for them. kinda glad that hater put some light on tsuki (and consequently billlie). i've seen more and more people get interested in them thanks to that whole 'scandal' (idk what to call it). as for enhypen, i'm more of a casual listener. i really like drunk dazed and upper side dreamin'. both great songs! idk if i like kpop or krnb more 🤔 i like both genres equally. but, i'm going to be honest, i've kind of out of the loop with kpop :( it's been approximately a decade since i got into kpop and i can see the differences between when i first was introduced to it, compared to now. i'm not as interested in the new groups as i was when i was younger. i still listen to a few groups but not as many as before. i'm more of a kindie/krnb listener nowadays.

Ooh iconic moments… I guess there’s the compilations of Soobin messing up names that went viral akdkdkfk I usually get a good laugh out of them. I don’t really know what people consider iconic since I’ve never thought of anything people do as such so please bare with me haha maybe also that one fancam of Jisung sitting there jamming to all the artists performing but messing up the lyrics in an award show + the clip of Eunsang singing 2002… it really blew up his fanbase and his voice is such a tender, honey-like one and I still listen to it regularly! I’m sorry I really have no idea (*μ_μ) what’re your favourite iconic moments?

Ah, she used to be a writer here but she left once the group she wrote for disbanded… I dunno maybe it’s the fact that you word your sentences the same way she did in casual talk? Oh, I gif! Well, it’s a little more complex than that but I mainly gif. I used to write on main (and post fanart from time to time) before but then it got weird for me after most of my writer friends left/grew other interests so I took up giffing + a tiny bit of gfx making and have been doing so on sideblogs since April last year! I posted fanarts on here to keep main active but I haven’t been lately because I need a new tablet first and I can only do so little on a small device such as my phone (つω`｡) I have a ton of sideblogs but my most active ones currently are those for txt, stray kids & the boyz! It seems like a lot but giffing takes me 1-2 hours per every 2 sets so I can usually make two posts a day if I don’t write for the story I’m working on personally and/or sketch for any fanarts… I do read! From only 2-3 writers though because I’m slightly picky with what I read and the style is either a hit or miss with me. I do think I’m blessed in a way that my day seems pretty long to me; I can study & finish chores in little time and partake in my hobbies/other activities while having more than half of it still left dkf’fnnf sometimes it’s not such a good thing because I feel like there’s nothing to do all day hehe I’ve been studying for my exams these past couple of weeks because they’ve suddenly been moved prior to their date before so I haven’t been able to post stuff as regularly. That’s also the reason it took me a while to get back to you, I apologize again!

Viral? The kiss had gone viral already? HOW WERE THERE EVEN PICTURES OF IT?! The ARMY that arrived didn't follow you into the departure lounge.  Unable to stop yourself, you typed ‘Jungkook kiss’ into your phone browser. The first thing you saw was multiple image results all showing the same picture of Jungkook kissing you in the airport. Scrolling down showed you that sites like Allkpop, Koreaboo, Soompi and even KpopViral had written ‘articles’ about the picture. You chose to read Soompi’s as, from what you had seen previously, they weren’t as harsh as other kpop sites.

A tearful farewell for now or a heart broken goodbye? According to our sources it is most likely the first. K-ARMY and Korean Media Sites alike showed up at Incheon Airport after the official BTS twitter account (@BTS_twt) was tagged in multiple tweets by international fans about a woman they called ‘Jungkook’s Noona’ leaving Korea to return to Britain. These tweets included which airport the couple would most likely show up at since only one airport near Seoul has flights to Britain.

Following these tweets a crowd of about 20 K-ARMY gathered outside of the airport, waiting to catch a glimpse of their beloved maknae and his mystery woman. Little did either know that the paparazzi were allowed into the departure lounge after informing the airport of their intentions in advance. These picture are the result:’

The first picture was you preparing to leave, then the kiss and then finally a picture of Jungkook sobbing in his seat. You felt your heart ache at the sight of him crying once more.

‘An emotionally charged departure between lovers. Jungkook and BigHit are yet to respond to the pictures. However, it seems Tumblr may hold the identity of his noona since those on Twitter site the infamous blogging site as their source. How will ARMY react to the heart of their maknae being stolen? Only time will tell.’

Panic flooded your thoughts.

'Y/N? Y/N are you okay?'

'No. No, I'm not.'

'Want me to come over?'

'Please.'

You were starting to hyperventilate. Chubs replied instantly saying she was on her way and not even ten minutes later there was a knock on your door. You opened it to reveal her stood there in a fluffy brown onesie, that made her look like a teddy bear, with a backpack slung over her shoulder.

"I have snacks and some films." She opened her arms with a sorry smile, "And hugs." You sniffled and wiped away the fresh wave of tears that travelled down your cheeks. She took you into her arms, "It'll be okay. Jungkook and the rest of Bangtan will fix this, I'm sure."

You nodded and stepped out of her embrace so you could shut the door.

"I-I don't know if he knows yet."

She followed you into your bedroom where you plopped down on the edge of your bed and pulled your knees up to your chest.

"It's viral. There's no way he couldn't know."

The Skype call did end with Bangtan shouting his name... they must have seen it. You could only imagine how he was reacting. Was he as worried as you? Your relationship was brand new, would BigHit make him end it to maintain BTS's reputation and popularity? The thought triggered a new wave of tears and you buried you head in your hands, sucking in deep breaths and letting Jungkook's scent calm you like it had on the flight home.

Chubs took a seat beside you and ran a soothing hand up and down your back.

"You need to either call or message him, find out what's going on his end."

"I-I sh-sh-should probably c-calm down be-f-fore I m-m-message him..." You hiccupped.

"Sounds like a plan."

Chubs got out a DVD from her bag. You didn't have time to see what it was before she was opening the case and sliding a disk into your TV/DVD combo. She then grabbed a bag of sweet and salted popcorn. You grabbed the shark plushie from where you left it on your bed and cuddled it to your chest while the opening credits to The Lego Movie began. She could have put on fucking Sharknado for all you cared. You just needed to be distracted.

Chubs suddenly turned to you and pat the plushie on the nose, "Cute."

"K-Kookie got it f-for me on o-o-our day out. H-he nearly c-called me his g-girlfriend-"

Chubs interrupted you, eyes wide in shock, "HE NEARLY CALLED YOU HIS GIRLFRIEND AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?!"

"I WAS PREOCCUPIED!"

She shook her head disapprovingly while tutting before a sly smile took over her face.

"So, he accidentally called you his girlfriend? How did that happen?"

You blushed as you remembered climbing on his back and the incident that followed.

"The tour guide asked why he, a Korean, was on an English tour and accidentally said 'For my gi-Noona!'."

She let out a loud 'aw' making your blush deepen. You tried to focus on the film.

"What else happened?"

"I'll tell you later."

She pouted but turned her gaze to the film in understanding that you weren't really in the mood to talk about things just yet.

You weren't particularly hungry, yet you considered it another method of distraction and shoved a handful of popcorn into your mouth. While munching away you heard your KKT alert go off. Unlocking your phone, you opened the app. It was Jungkook.

'Something happened. But don't worry Kitten, I'll sort it out. I just got you, I'm not going to give you up.'

Your eyes began to water at the sweet message and you cursed yourself for being so silly and thinking he wouldn't want to be with you after this.

You nudged Chubs and showed her the message.

"See, everything is going to be just fine." She used her fluffy sleeve to catch a tear that had unknowingly fallen down your cheek. "He'd never let anything happen to you."

Another alert.

'Do you mind if I make your song public?'

Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

'Of course, I don't mind :) but why?'

'You'll see in about 20 minutes.' You frowned and asked him what he was doing. All he replied with was, 'Trust me.'

You did, so you let him be and placed your phone behind you in an attempt to resist the temptation of checking the time every few seconds.

"What's going on?" Chubs asked, offering you the bowl of popcorn after she took her own handful.

"He's going to make a song he wrote for me public... I think it may be a part of his plan... whatever it is."

You watched as a few pieces of popcorn fell from between her fingers to her lap.

"HE WROTE YOU A SONG?!" She practically shouted causing you to slap a hand over her mouth.

"Yes. But shush! It's late and people are sleeping."

"He wrote you a song?" She repeated in a hushed whisper.

"You didn't know? I thought you were in on his plan."

It was her turn to blush.

"Ah...I see he told you then..." she trailed off and gave you a shy smile. "I didn't know if he wanted you to know or not."

"He told me because I went off about there being fucking MYTEEN on the playlist." You slapped her gently on the arm. "How dare you do that to me!"

"They have a song about wanting their noona to see them as a man. It was perfect! How could I not?"

She had a good point but you wouldn't let her know that.

"He kept asking me who my bias is!"

She shrugged, "So?"

"He insisted he know who was in competition for my attention."

"Aw, he's so cute thinking Yuvinie is competition!"

"Don't mention that name around me!"

She leaned forward, nudging your side with her elbow while saying 'Yuvinie~' in a sing-song voice. You gave her a warning glare that caused her to shrink away with a 'Don't hit me.' You smirked and went back to munching happily on your popcorn. She too turned her attention back to the screen, arms wrapped around herself as if shielding herself from an attack.

"You and Jungkook are very similar. You both destroy fruit with body parts and you both threaten to hit people."

A proud smile found it's way onto your face, all traces of your earlier tears gone.

"I guess the Thigh Power Couple is official now."

Twenty minutes later while you and Chubs were giggling away at the childish nature of Lego Batman when both of your phones got a notification. It was the official BTS twitter account. The tweet contained the date followed by 'Jungkook Log' and a link to a YouTube video. This must've been what he was planning.

You clicked the link and angled your phone so the two of you could see.

'Hello, this is Jungkook from BTS. I won't bother mentioning the date since I reckon this is going to be a memorable day thanks to a certain picture that was published.'

Your eyebrows drew together when you noticed he was speaking English with Korean subtitles.

'I'm sure a lot of you know by now, but I want to tell you what happened and how that picture came about.'

The corners of his mouth twitched into a smile as he ran a hand through his hair.

'The woman in that picture is my Jagiya, my Noona, Y/N. We met... we met at a fansign in her country post concert. I asked her to tutor me in English since she wanted to teach it as a career path... It's been four months since I first called her.' He chuckled, 'Seems like it's been longer.'

Chubs made some comment about him being 'smitten' but you hushed her and she fell silent.

'During those four months, she's visited me twice here in Korea where we hung out as friends. She's met the other members, who all love her, and the majority of staff at the company too.'

A little clip of the members making you have a dance off appeared against Namjoon and Jin appeared and you recognised Jimin's giggles. The short ball of mochi had filmed the embarrassing moment?! The clip cut off before you could look too much like an idiot.

'Just before she visited for the first time, I realised I had feelings for her. But I was too chicken to confess while she was here.'

Since before your first visit? He didn't tell you that. And he'd been holding back for so long?

'So, I roped in a few people to help put together this elaborate confession that after weeks of planning finally came to fruition less than twenty-four hours ago. I'll skip over some details, but ultimately I turned to music to tell her how I felt.' He awkwardly scratched the back of his neck, 'What I didn't anticipate was how having her there in front of me again would make me want to show her just how felt. How it would make me want to throw away the plan.’

You smiled softly at the Jungkook on screen and even let Chubs quietly 'aw'.

'So, I did.' His cheeks grew a faint shade of pink. 'I, uh...kissed her just before she boarded the flight hoping it would be enough to break through her obliviousness so she knew how much I loved her.' He mumbled the last part, ducking his head shyly as his blush spread from his ears to his neck.

But then he was frowning, 'I don't regret what I did but I won't say I'm not angry at myself. I should've known the media would've been there to invade my privacy if ARMY had turned up to invade it too.'

You sighed, not liking or agreeing with how he was blaming himself for not knowing. How was anyone to know that someone would have made it to departures?

'I would like to ask ARMY and everyone including media and news sites to please respect us, and more importantly my Noona.' His tongue swiped across his lips, probably to moisten them thanks to nerves, 'She didn't ask for this. She didn't ask to be a part of my life, I asked her... You're probably wondering about why I'm talking in English with Korean subtitles. One, it's to make sure this message as clear as possible. Two, to show you what a wonderful job she did at tutoring me. That being said, our relationship has just begun and I will not give it up, so please, don't hate my Noona. Don't demonize her. She did nothing wrong apart from being really oblivious.'

He chuckled and you and Chubs giggled along. No one was going to let you live it down, ever, by the sounds of it.

'I hope you all wish us good luck for the future and take care of us. Thank you, ARMY. Annyeong.'

The video ended with a link coming on screen. Tapping on it out of curiosity, you found yourself watching a familiar video of him with his guitar. You wondered why he linked it at the end. You were brought out of your thoughts by Chubs grabbing your phone out of your hand to get a better look at the video.

"This is the song he wrote for you?"

You nodded, "He asked me if he could make it public. I don't mind. I think it's good for people to hear the development of our relationship in a song."

Chubs nodded and focus on the video in front of her. You, on the hand, were itching to see what was happening on tumblr when it was mentioned in the song. As soon as the song came to a close and Chubs passed you the phone, you hurriedly went to Tumblr, humming every so often when Chubs gushed about the pictures he included in the song.

The first thing you noticed was how many messages flooded your inbox.

It would be a lie to say you weren't nervous about opening it. Who knew how much hate could be hidden there? So, with a deep breath, you tapped the icon. The first message you saw was from an anon saying 'FUCKING FINALLY! DID HE GIVE YOU THE JUNGCOCK?' A high-pitched squeal slipped from your lips and Chubs looked at you in alarm.

"What is it?!"

"People are asking if I got the Jungcock! Where's the hate? The death threats? The ARMYs saying they'd kill to be in my position?"

You scrolled down your inbox until one message stood out to you.

"Ah, here they are. 'Jungkook deserves better than you.' God, I thought my messages were going to be full of pervs."

"Block any that send hate. That is my command as captain of your ship!" Chubs brought her hand to her heart as if to show how honoured she felt to be 'captain'.

"Doing it!" You went through your inbox, ignoring the messages as you opened them so to block and delete them.

Chubs took out her own phone and went about posting Jungkook's Log and ‘The Fairground’s video while The Lego Batman Movie reached its climax in the background. You took a quick screenshot of your, now hate free, inbox and sent it to Jungkook.

'Apparently most only care about knowing if you got laid.'

He replied a few minutes later with a frowning emoji.

'Noona's followers are perverts.'

'They're fangirls, it's to be expected.'

'Does this make my Jagi a fangirl AND a pervert?'

You chuckled and typed out a response. However, out of the corner of your eye you couldn't help but see Chubs looking at you strangely.

"Why are you laughing?"

"Kookie is very naive about how a fangirl's mind works." You giggled.

Chubs rose an eyebrow.

You sent 'NO!' to Jungkook then turned to Chubs who had locked her phone and folded her arms, waiting for you to say something.

"What...?"

"Are you two being dirty? Should I leave?"

Your eyes went wide. Dirty? Sure, you had written smut about him but you never actually thought about... doing that with him. You had only just got into a relationship with him!

"Of course not!"

You went back to scrolling through tumblr to distract yourself and your jaw dropped at something Jungkook had reblogged. It was a petition titled ‘Get Jungkook's Noona To Korea'. Jungkook had added a caption saying, 'I'm trying'.

He was trying? To what? Get you to Korea?

The thought caused your mouth to go dry as you imagined getting on a plane without having booked a return flight.

"Hey, have you seen- oh, you're looking at it too..."

"What... what do you think it means?"

"Maybe he's planning another trip for you."

You sighed, mind flitting back to all the times he suggested flying you back out, and that one time you got upset.

"I told him not to..."

"Look," Chubs grabbed the TV remote and paused the film which had finished and was running its end credits, then turned to you. "You've had a long day. Why don't you just forget about it for tonight?"

"...Okay... I guess there's one thing about what's happened I can be happy about."

Chubs leant forward in interest, "What would that be?"

Your fingers went up to trace over your lips before you smiled.

"There's a picture of mine and Kookie's first kiss. A precious memory captured."

basically, which haikyuu characters would listen to kpop and and what would they enjoy realistically?

as the kpop industry is kinda saturated with idols, obv i couldnt include every group/artist. also its important to note that kpop would be a really niche interest unless they’re a trending group (eg. twice), regularly promoting in japan (ie. bts, apink, ikon, shinee), have established themselves because of hallyu (eg. dbsk, suju, big bang, snsd). if a artist/group met any or more of those conditions, the more i took them into consideration for this. 

I also took into consideration characters who are more likely to enjoy browsing the internet. those who put in a good amount of effort to look for music are very much more likely to come across it!

akaashi was almost a kpop anti (hates rhythm ta so fucking much lol) but then he found this and thought otherwise

just once you hit that part of youtube, the same type of music fills the entire sidebar. its a whole new world of music which is exactly what tsukki, akaashi, and ennoshita are after.

part of ennoshita's fascination of this music is the cinematography also he likes being unique for the music vids. its undeniable how high quality kpop music videos are... the camera-work, the selection of sets and props & lighting to create certain moods such as across the universe

tsukki is just an avid listener of music and enjoys being informed and up to date on all kinds of music. very attracted to tracks that are very well produced and well crafted such as bawling

akaashi is naturally thorough and doesnt like to settle for music readily available around him, he truly loves the meeting new sounds and styles, especially anything thats a clever/creative hybrid of genres such as neon bunny’s romance in seoul (jazz + electro) 

oikawa tooru: open-minded, but mostly he loves anything feel-good and cute.

enjoys often very catchy and upbeat hits:

cheer up - twice /  very nice - seventeen / party - snsd 

usually a pleasant hummer and has a nice soft voice when singing. knows how to be obnoxious though

he cant help it because the songs are so FUN iwa-chan, 

also songs that make him feel nostalgic and longing, especially if the vocalist is good at conveying emotion

though updated with some trends (twice, seventeen), only truly familiar with older generation of idols.

they know kpop thanks to oikawa who showed them cheer up... found it cute and rly love dancing to the “sha sha sha” and chorus.

both curious, they did their own research and exploring and came out with their own likes and dislikes.

also ring ding dong (started liking it ironically to piss off hajime but now finds genuine enjoyment in it. they know the chorus dance)

it g ma because kohh features (they were shook) but also because of its meme factor. listen to it please oh my god [TW: lots of BRIGHT flashes in that mv..] the squawking and yelling annoys hajime so much wtf which may or may not contribute to why they both like this song so much. oikawa doesnt like it either ("its so ugly!")

thus i think its fair to say out of all the hq characters, its these two who are most likely to get to know their idol groups & not just be passive listeners.

kuroo didnt care about kpop until he decided to give super junior’s hero album a listen during the time it was just released and very hot and popular on the charts. unexpectedly really loved the tracks & shared with yaku and kai. kai likes it too but isnt into idol stuff (more into rock) as much as yaku and kuroo. this was gateway into kpop for them. they’re mostly familiar with idols from sm ent.

And now it is time for the second half of the Daegu line, one part of the maknae line, the love of my life whose cheeks are so fucking cute they just look so squishy and kissable and I wanna give them lots of kisses, Kim Taehyung aka V aka tae tae

Okay so Tae is one of the biggest fanboys I may have ever seen like he does not care if he’s in public, if he’s at the dorm, if he’s in the middle of the park, he’s gonna dance and sing his lil heart out

He’s so enthusiastic about music and he really genuinely enjoys the performance like that shit isn’t something you can fake

He gets so into it and it’s so cute to watch bc he gets so hyped up and he gets everyone around him excited too he’s such a happy virus

I could watch him react to performances all day long, he’s so cute about it bc he’ll know the dance and honestly Tae is one of the only people that can still make a whip or nae nae look that fucking cute

He would be the type to go all out with the merch, buy all the albums, go to as many concerts as he possibly can he’s just so supportive and loyal

He of course gets all of the boys into your music, especially Jimin bc Vmin are attached at the hip and since Jimin and kook live together, chim tells kook who tells Jin who tells joon who tells hobi who tells yoongi so it’s another one of those cycle type of things

He obviously gets bby boy into your music asap bc I feel like that’s something really cool about being a parent, being able to help mold your kid’s music taste or at least give them songs/artists that they can look back on fondly and be like that was my favorite song as a kid

The two of them are even more hyped up together bc Tae gets bby boy all hype which makes tae even more hyped which makes bby boy even more hyped and it’s never ending

Most nights, it ends with them dancing around their apartment with Tae carrying the puppy and both of them screaming the lyrics to your songs in matching pajamas with super fluffy socks on

He mentions you in a few videos and he doesn’t even bother trying to hide that he’s got a total crush on you

He does this thing on his channel where he and bby boy react to your music videos and they’re so precious bc the entire time bby boy is snacking on grapes or sucking on a pacifier and his hair is always messy, sometimes you can tell Tae tried to tame it a bit by tying it into this super teeny tiny ponytail but that doesn’t last long bc bby boy doesn’t do sitting still

He does sit still for the MV though, Sesame Street, Between the Lions, Spongebob and your mvs are the only things that can get his complete attention and keep it

Okay so head canon that you discover Tae’s channel through this video that goes viral

It’s of him and bby boy dancing to your newest song and it’s the cutest video you’ve ever watched bc Tae’s nonstop giggling and bby boy’s so serious about it and he’s doing all of the moves so perfectly

Even people who have no idea who you are, no idea who Tae is are in love with the video bc it’s smol and tol goofing around together and it’s pretty obvious that tae l o v e s his bby bc he keeps giving him this really fond smile and at one point, tae sits back and sings the song for bby boy so he can have his solo

Side note I just wanna add in that bby boy would look s o much like Tae, it’s almost scary like they have the same smile, the same eyes, the same lil nose bby boy is just smoller and obviously still has his bby chub bc he’s a toddler

So just imagine a super tiny Tae next to normal sized Tae dancing around and singing together and tell me that doesn’t sound adorable

You watch it so many times, you show it to everyone around you, you text it to everyone you know you’re just so in love bc cute man with a cute bby

You gotta go through his channel a bit and he’s just so funny and unique and his bby is always always always smiling and giggling and they do monthly updates so his subscribers can see how much bby Tae has grown 

You also find a lot of videos where he talks about you and he flat out says that you’re his celebrity crush and you can’t stop smiling after you find that out

You find his snapchat and his twitter and instagram all the social medias and it’s mainly about bby boy or the puppy or the hamster they just recently got but then there are other pictures of just Tae and he has a few where he’s in your merch

You develop a crush on him over the next few days and when he posts a new video you get so excited and watch it instantly and that’s when you figure you should talk to him, he knows who you are, he likes you already so you just go for it and message him on snapchat since that’s where he’s most active

“You and your son are adorable, I’d love to meet the both of you!! We should meet up soon, how’s next Friday?”

Tae screams in the middle of breakfast when he gets the message and bby boy doesn’t even know what’s going on but he starts screaming too and then Tae’s dancing all over the kitchen out of joy so bby boy’s following him, still a bit sleepy but dancing anyways bc the Kims always gotta dance together
