When Nightwing was just breaking off on his own, one of the first cases he managed by himself was that of a circus come to blüdhaven to steal valuables off the wealthy residents. Dick eventually realized the connection, and with the strained and sporadic help of a cheerful white haired performer, manages to realize their ringmaster Freakshow was controlling them with a crystal ball staff. He breaks it to set them free and arrests Freakshow for possession of stolen goods and that seems like the end of it.

That is, until years later when he's working with the Justice League and they seize a truck full of those self-same crystal balls.

With a national uptick in seemingly impossible crimes, Dick has to somehow get back in contact with the Mysterious white haired boy from Circus Gothica and ask for his help to stop who's responsible for mass producing these orbs and freeing the secretive species of people they seem to control.

Plot bunny that I wish to write but don’t currently have the motivation to work on:

After the who thing with Hush, Tim asks Dick to review cowl footage from the fight in the graveyard when Clayface took on the appearance of an adult Jason Todd.

After watching the footage a few times, he comes to suspect Clayface was only there at the end of the fight. There was someone else at the beginning. Tim admitted he felt the same way and let slip the fact that it was due to that fight that Bruce found out Jason’s grave was empty.

Upset he wasn’t informed of that and suspicious of the mysterious Jason lookalike, Dick ends up doing some research of his own and finds evidence of this familiar looking stranger slowly gathering information and power within the shadows of the city.

Going undercover as someone presumed to be associated with one of the Families, he eventually finds a guy who initially mistakes him for the stranger.

“What’d I do this time? Wasn’t the info I gave you enough..? Wait, you ain’t the guy. What is he? Your brother or somethin’? You two look almost identical.”

That gave Dick momentary pause, but he quickly decided to roll with it. “That’s right, but he unfortunately decided to strike out on his own in a way our family doesn’t approve of. It’s my task to find him. You know how it goes. Care to point me in his direction?”

This leads Dick on a merry chase trying to find Jason while trying to keep up the act

Edit: I was gonna post the little bit I got done a few months ago… and somehow Word deleted it? But I can see the file that was called ‘Resurrected Hope’ and the page/page and a half is gone :(

So, CONTEXT!!! I had a dumb idea that would’ve not let me sleep if i didn’t rough sketch it. I remember i read somewhere that bunnies can snap their backs if they jump too high.

And now i am picturing the batfam bubble-wrapping BunnyWing after Damian Wayne dropped that info bomb...Like after this, bunnywing needs to be carried everywhere. He is terrified (and also highkey happy he gets to be cuddled by everyone)

Damian “I have the gentleness of a chainsaw with words and cannot show love like a normal person” Wayne, will drop kick anyone that doesn’t support bunny Grayson’s back properly. He will not risk it.

Back and lower leg injuries are apparently the number one cause of bunny paralysis. Grayson cannot be hurt.

Plot bunny to be released: crack edition

Starting when Dick was Robin, it became a fun past time for the Birds to find a way to make an unplanned cameo in costume when movies were filming in Gotham.

Eventually, that started including walk-on roles in their public personas which started off as a dare between Dick and Jason. And after telling Bruce they were using it as practice for undercover work, it became more regular.

Move forward in time, the superhero persona cameos were still done, but walk-on roles had stopped after Jason’s death.

But when Tim and Steph were showing Cass a newly released movie filmed in Gotham, Tim briefly caught sight of a familiar teen believed to be dead. Not knowing what to make of it, he purposely made them watch them movie again.

This was how the family first found out Jason was no longer resting.

(In my brain, the cameo is when Jason was wandering the streets in a catatonic stupor)

I realized that the OOC arc where where Cass is suddenly evil and talkative and the time Jason was impersonating Nightwing and killing people happened at the same time in universe and in real time.

That’s pretty funny. Dad takes two kids on a trip and the middle siblings decide to ruin their favorite siblings life while everyone is out.
