"err.. looks like I lost it somewhere.." you whined in a tone of distress. Having one of the missing documents you were suppose to fill in supposedly went lost! that was even one of the last batch that you had to deal with!

'now how am i gonna tell the boss now..?' you thought.

you scratched the back of your head as you continued to travel every corner in the room, looked under every sofa and chairs, maybe in the drawers? no- you still couldn't find the missing document.

your back felt like it was experiencing a massive back pain from searching through the entire room, but in conclusion- it still wasn't found! you sighed.

"are you looking for this?" a voice spoke behind you.

you turned around to be met eyes with akutagawa, who was holding a document that you assume to be the one you're looking for.

you took a look of the document, looking closely into the text and finally recognized it as the last and missing piece of your work. You let out a sigh of relief with a smile next.

"oh yeah! this is the last of it thank god you found it!" it felt like the heavy weight on your shoulders had been released as soon as you recieved the paper from akutagawa. you thanked him and went on to arrange the final documents you finalized.

"tch, you should remember where you put your things. they're always scattered.." he commented.

"sorry, i owe you one again!" you replied.

oh y/n y/n y/n.. are you even aware of how much this man had helped you through such small needs and crisis? there was a never ending loop of how much your needs were need to be fulfilled but worry not! akutagawa is there for you at any time.

while you were arranging the stack of documents you had in your hands, a thought came up in your mind. it was akutagawa, but you started to realize how much he had helped you with so much list of stuff you needed throughout your time in the port mafia!

that time, when you were feeling a flu after delivering a mail the boss ordered you.

you opened the doors leading to the meeting room of the port mafia, seeing that nobody was in the room.

your breath was starting to hitch- your body felt quite hot than before, lastly you felt like fainting. you

sat down to one of the long sofas and laid there 'till you didn't realize yourself that you had fallen asleep.

later on waking up with the feeling of something comfy under your head. you lit your eyes a bit- vision was blurry but as soon as sight cleared, you sat up and noticed a comfy pillow was what was underneath you.

at the corner of your eye, the sight of a glass of water and what seemed to be medicine pill sat across the table not far from you.

you heard the sound of a door open. you looked to its direction to see akutagawa again, with both of his hands in his pockets he walked to you.

"hirotsu provided that for you, when he entered the room- he saw that your breathing was shortening and upon checking your temperature from your forehead. he said it was hot."

"you have a flu y/n."

you stared at him then shifted your gaze back to the medicine hirotsu gave you, you let out another smile. "then i have to thank him as soon as i see him, thanks for informing me akutagawa." you replied.

while staring at the objects on the table, a sound of a loud thud occurred. you looked to where it came and saw..

a whole box of.. yogurt drink 10 billion lactobacillus cells?!

you were taken aback, not sure of how to react- yet you didn't know what were those for.. you stared at it blankly not until akutagawa let out a cough, eyes closed with fist formed on his mouth as he did.

a faint red shade on his cheeks where you didn't seem to notice. that's good.

"drink those, it'll help with your flu." he said as he retreated back his ability that seemed to carry the box of yogurt drinks for him.

akutagawa exited back to the door, still leaving you in a confused state.

the next day, you felt more better than yesterday. being stable enough to walk through the base of the port mafia.

you entered the meeting room yet again, you were met with your fellow workmates. Hirotsu, Tachihara, and Gin. they all sat except for Tachihara, leaning on the sofa with arms crossed.

"hello Y/N, how have you been feeling?" Hirotsu greeted as you walked in. "greater than ever! thank you for the medicine you gave me Hirotsu-san!" you happily thanked.

"say.. akutagawa gave me a box of those yogurt drinks called 10 million lacto- uh.. i forgot but there were tons of them! he told me to drink those.. but I only finished 3 so far.."

"HE GAVE YOU WHAT?!" Tachihara yelled.

he pinched the bridge of his nose, "you're not suppose to give those to people who have a flu! how can they down something that thick?!" he said in a frustrated tone.

"oh? so that's why he bought a box of those.." Gin said, everyone looked at her.

"yesterday around noon, I saw my brother walking around the city and I happened to get a glimpse of him stopping by a store. But I had no clue why he was there, i went on with my day after that." Gin said.

Hirotsu took a sip of his tea, "hm, yesterday he asked me where was y/n, when i told him you were resting and had a flu, he left off in a haste." he said.

akutagawa bought those for you? no way he did! that must cost a lot and he didn't need to buy that much!

"well next time, advise your brother not to buy a damn yogurt drink and instead buy something else!" Tachihara commented.

"i've never seen my brother buy something for someone that much. (aside from dazai..)" Gin said.

"i owe him another one yet again.."

I'm glad I came off as respectful and left a positive impression on you! I do a lot of shit-posting about Dazai, but I do feel like I am at least fair to him when I am analyzing his actions? Other times, yeah, I'm just indulging in my desire to beat him bloody. Just, like, once. To get it out of my system XD. For science.

And the ship posts! Those were soooo fun to make. And oh, let me think about any other ships and my thoughts on them...

Fyolai (Fyodor / Nikolai) – Remember how I was like "there's just some things you don't write if you don't want people to ship two characters?" This is another case. This is the reason I disagree with people that go like "bsd is the only manga where no ships are necessary," like bro, there's so many things wrong with that sentence. It is absolutely necessary to make a bond such as these two's feel almost tangible to the viewers. It is essential to understand Nikolai's emotional dependance on Fyodor as a driving factor to his actions. Nikolai is orbiting around him, and you can see Fyodor having a genuine interest in this man, who doesn't play a big role in his grand plans. To me, these two feel kinda like Soukoku? Something something "the stars aligned so we could meet." 10/10 ship.

Ranpoe (Ranpo / Poe) – What God do I need to pray to in oder to get about 50 OVAs with these two?? Season 4 Ranpoe was the biggest treat and gift to me, personally. I love love love their dynamic so much. Like, yeah, Poe idolizes Ranpo, but he is now just as much in Ranpo's radar as well! Ranpo imprinted on him, he is Ranpo's emotional support rich boyfriend for fuck's sake. The way Ranpo uses his ability seamlessly?? Like it belongs to him?? Like he's so goddamn comfortable with it?? And what about the, "What would I do with myself if Ranpo-kun were to die..?” They're literally soulmates. They met and clicked so hard, they found each other, they suit each other, they complete each other. 10 million/10.

AtsuLucy (Atsushi / Lucy) – Firstly, I love Lucy, I think she's a great character, I love her design and personality and ability and everything. My baby. However, I have no particular attachment to this ship. It's not bad, and it's perfectly valid, but I don't see like- a need for it, you know? They understand each other, have stuff in common, and impacted each other's lives; I do love when two characters save each other left and right, so kudos for that. Honestly, they seem like they'd be absolutely amazing friends, really close, and honestly, I would love to see Atsushi have such a friendship, I think it would be good for him, but personally I don't see them in a romantic light. 9/10 ship due to the lack of feels I got from their interactions.

HiguGin (Higuchi / Gin) – I think that they're amazing and I would die for them. I need a spin-off of them. I need at least a whole WAN episode of them going on a date and shopping and eating ice cream and training and going to the beach– basically everything because they'd have the best relationship ever. I can just see them cuddling on a couch and watching TV as sskk fight over the last dumping in the kitchen. I need more about them like I need air. Also, petition for Beast Higuchi and Beast Gin to take over the Mafia. For reasons. 10/10 ship.

FukuMori (Fukuzawa / Mori) – Yeah, yeah, they're divorced Double Black and whatever, but let's be real for a second; no one can convince me that when Fukuchi first showed up, y'all's reaction was not, "Hold on a second Fukuzawa, what about your husband?!" The way Fukuchi behaved with Ranpo screamed new boyfriend trying to gain the son's approval, I was dying XD. "But Fukuchi knew Fukuzawa first!!" Yeah, yeah, I don't care– I'm not a zskk shipper until Fukuchi enters the screen. Let Fukuzawa and Mori be the yin and yang pillars of Yokohama. 9/10 ship because Mori is *sigh* a bad guy. Sad.

Odango (Oda / Ango) – They are married. No, I will not accept criticism. This is canon to me.

KuniBram (Kunikida / Bram) – My sister has decided they're also married and coparenting, so the conclusion is that they're married and coparenting.

I can't think of any ships right now, but do mention if there's one you like that I have missed!

(Honorary Mention: Dead Apple Trio) – So, we agree they fucked, right?? That wasn't subtext in the slightest, that was the greatest amount of subtle and yet ostentatious display of repressed homosexuality I've seen since SuperWhoLock hit this website. Dazai did not look that good to simply not be pushed against a table/wall. That's a disservice to him.

Two words: LITTLE. SHIT.

He's the type to laugh along with his lee, and make a fake low-pitched evil laugh... which makes the whole situation even more flustering

He's a playful ler in general, while Dazai and Yosano are more sadistic and evil

He uses his super deduction to find every single spot on his lee, paying attention to every spot he reaches and taking mental notes of every reaction

He's the only one who had the nerve to tickle Fukuzawa... and luckily for him, the President just laughed it off for once

When Atsushi joined the Agency, Ranpo picked on him all the time, making the poor weretiger screech under his pokes on a daily basis

He even wrecked Yosano once, when she tried to steal his snacks. Now people don't even ask him to share... they don't wanna be wrecked that badly

He's more likely to give squeezes and pokes, instead of light traces and scribbles (that's more Poe's style)... and he gives raspberries as often as he can

He loved tickling two lees at once as if he was playing piano

He wouldn't be that good at chasing people, because he has zero orientation skills. He he'll locate them in 2 seconds, but then he'll send someone else to get them for him

Nakajima Atsushi: 4/10

A very tricky and controversial one to begin with. He certainly suffers from the changes in the anime. The black streak being erased certainly is a bigger betrayal to the fanbase than chronic betrayer Ango could ever hope to achieve in his career. Not only does Atsushi lose his tiger vibe but also his hair connection to Akutagawa.

As for his actual haircut, I do like the boldness, he certainly sets a statement with it, though what exactly that statement is supposed to be remains unknown. Once again he loses greatly in the anime bc even though the cut seems cleaner, this only makes it more apparent that the thing on his head was deliberate and it fails to explain its purpose. Sentence: mid (the worst thing that can be said about you)

Dazai Osamu: 12/10

There certainly is a huge difference between manga and anime as well, equally in length, shape, texture and detail in his hair. While I am not a hater of his manga hair like some others who claim it to look greasy (I just don't really see that, what I do see however is that it makes him look more serious and less soft, which does fit the darker side of his character and adds a nice undertone to him), I won't concentrate on it.

To get to my rating of his anime hair: What can I say. I am absolutely smitten with every character design choice the anime producers made and one of their biggest hits is Dazai's hair. It's beautiful, so much fun to draw and suits him perfectly. Sentence: I'm on my knees

+ bonus points: He looks like a cocker spaniel with this I can't explain but yknow I'm right, he was the most dog of them all in the first BSD WAN episode, literally made to be a stray dog

Yosano Akiko: 8/10

While technically a mere bob style, Yosano's hair still effortlessly managed to become one of the most noticed by me, which might be because I love her she is our first manga winner. In the earliest chapters, her hair is shown to be not entirely straight but rather facing inward, rounding the edges of her cut. Probably due to time management reasons, this falls of pretty early, but it will live on forever in my imagination.

We also have the butterfly hairpiece, which sets a nice contrast to her otherwise cool business look and of course is strongly connected to her ability and troubles. The placement is great too, truly a flawlessly executed look. However, she loses slightly in the anime due to the butterfly looking very heavy and the purple looking a little out of place. Sentence: I am torn (the first manga one is so slay but then it lacks spice)

i know bsd is a commitment but i think you should give watching wan a shot — the episodes are like 10 minutes long and its a bunch of short skits so it really doesnt require much attention or motivation. plus its cute and silly. but also do whatever you want and dont worry if you dont want to fjdksh

it’s in bsd wan episode 10 - atsushi and chuuya got stuck in an elevator on their way to see a movie and atsushi starts talking about how, when an elevator falls, usually people assume the wire holding it up breaks. but in actuality, it’s more likely that the floor will fall through. as he’s saying this, the visual is examples of each (the wire breaking vs the floor falling through) show dazai in an elevator. i’m not sure if this was in the wan manga or just cruel irony or what but. it sure is something

SO this is a day late; whoops, I meant to post this on New Years' Eve

I did this last year and wanted to do it again! So here’s a list that no one asked for of the top 10 anime series I watched this year, including two honorable mentions. They are ranked from (in my opinion) best to worst!

Animes I Watched This Year: 

Arcane: League of Legends

IDK if this counts as an anime, but I love it so much that I’m including it anyway. 

Literally my favorite animated show of all time. 

It beats out Moriarty the Patriot, Demon Slayer, all of the animes. 

People who have been following me since my Arcane obsession began know of my love for Viktor.

He’s my favorite and deserves the world. 

But the show is stunning; every shot is amazing, the music is astounding, and everything about it is breathtaking!

Jujutsu Kaisen 0

Ok, I saw this in theaters, and I wanted to cry because it’s so beautiful. 

I already owned the manga and had read it, and the fact that I love the movie more than the manga is something to consider.

There was never a boring moment in the movie, all the characters were memorable (with the exception of very few), and I absolutely adore Yuta.

Like, I already loved Geto because of that flashback arc we had in the manga, but Yuta beat him, he beat Gojo, and he beat everyone in the entire anime as my favorite except for maybe Inumaki.

This was truly Yuta’s movie, and I can’t wait for season 2!

Demon Slayer Season 2

THIS SHOW BLEW MY EXPECTATIONS OUT OF THE WATER

The CGI used was absolutely amazing. THIS IS HOW CGI SHOULD BE USED PEOPLE TAKE NOTES

Uzui is actually my favorite Hashira, save for Iguro (my least favorite is Rengoku, don’t come for me) so seeing a season dedicated to him was great.

I own all the manga, and this was one of my favorite arcs, so seeing it animated was like a birthday present. 

Bungou Stray Dogs: WAN!

THIS SHOW IS SO CUTE, BUT ALSO MADE ME CRY WTF

Like episode 10? Had me pretty much bawling my eyes out

I also watched it in dub which was also a treat. I really like the BSD dub, and this was no exception.

Someone, please talk about it with me.

Spy x Family

Normally slice-of-life shows aren’t my thing. 

But this one is the exception! 

This show is so fun, so colorful, and so just utterly amazing that I can’t help but want to rewatch it a bunch!

I don’t have any complaints about it. It’s just at number 5 cause I love the other shows more. 

Chainsaw Man

So I’m collecting the manga right now. 

I already read it online and remember pretty much none of it. 

This is what I get for reading it during finals week lmao

But the show is so cool!

It helps refresh my memory of what happens and every moment (save for the first kiss) is animated so beautifully!

They use CGI really well, with very few moments looking awkward or just out of pace. 

This is only down at the halfway mark because it hasn’t gotten to my favorite part of the manga yet, so I can’t accurately judge how much I’ll love my favorite parts.

The Case Study of Vanitas Season 2

THIS IS SUCH A PRETTY SHOW

The only reason it’s down this far is because I didn’t actually finish season 2. 

I didn’t even see the final fight between everyone and the Beast of Gevaudan, or however you spell it

So I really can’t judge this show until I finish the entire thing, haha

Blue Exorcist

I’M ONLY ON EPISODE THREE AND HAVEN’T SEEN IT SINCE 2014 DON’T COME FOR ME

I’m watching it in English Dub, and I think this is the only role that I actually like Bryce Papenbrook in. Anything else, and he just comes across as slightly annoying, but I really like him as Rin!

But this show is such a nostalgia trip. It’s great to rewatch, and the animation holds up really well!

Also, the opening is one of my favorites. I absolutely adore it. 

Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress

This one is so bizarre, but I still really enjoy it. 

Like the premise is so cool, and the animation is great!

It just fell kind of flat. 

They just needed more episodes to really explore everything they wanted to, but overall, 7/10 would recommend it to someone looking for a short but fun watch!

High Rise Invasion

I’m not even done with episode 1, but I already really enjoy the guy with the sniper rifle. I think he’s called Sniper Mask?

Anyway, the whole bit at the beginning of that one cop or whatever trying to make the main girl take off her clothes wasn’t the best. 

It is part of what brought it down to number ten.

The other part is just that I haven’t finished it. 

I’m noticing a trend with my watching habits, lol

Honorable Mentions

Sk8 the Infinity

Literally, the only thing beating this out of my top ten list is Adam. 

I actually had this idea of writing a story of a detective from America coming to Japan and arresting him because that was hilarious to me, and he didn’t deserve the ending he got. 

He deserved much worse, and no one can change my mind. 

Millionaire Detective: Balance Unlimited

Oh. My. Gosh. This show was SO BORING

The first couple of episodes were really fun and jazzy and whatever, but by the end, I was doing literally everything I could just not to watch it.

BSD WAN! Christmas 2020 promo art analysis

Ok we’re probably all still crying over wan episode 10 so how about a wan Dazai analysis that’ll cheer us up?

I’ll be looking at the wan Christmas promo art from this past December, specifically at the Dazai teru teru bozu doll that Atsushi is holding.

A quick search shows you that teru teru bozu are a type of doll made to wish for good weather, especially for the rain to go away. If they grant this wish for good weather, part of how they get rewarded is having a face drawn on. You can fairly easily find out what happens if they fail, but let’s try to keep this one positive.

So how does this metaphorically apply to Dazai (and Atsushi)? From Atsushi’s perspective, Dazai did in fact “make the rain go away” by saving him, and more than once from Atsushi’s despair. On the train platform, Dazai told Atsushi to pull himself together and not pity himself (albeit in a very blunt way) and even when he’s not nearby in the current manga arc/saga he’s still giving Atsushi hope and making his day/mind more clear.

And as we can see, Dazai’s face is drawn on it so he’s definitely succeeded at saving Atsushi and “bringing him good weather”. Atsushi wished to be saved in episode/chapter 1 and that’s what Dazai came in and did! In later instances too (again, train platform and the more recent manga example).

Ok now for the not so happy ep 10 stuff

As for the wan episode 10 tie in, with Dazai saying “If I had to go, I’d like to go out just as beautifully [as the fireworks].”, I think that it may partially be in reference to Oda’s last words to Dazai. Oda did tell Dazai that being on the side that saves people is at least a little bit more beautiful/wonderful (phrasing based on the translation). I don’t think this should be taken too seriously in regards to foreshadowing what will happen to Dazai and can rather be taken in the perspective of “reminder that Dazai isn’t actually okay and here’s an example how he sees and presents himself vs how others see him because of this”. He’s smiling but in my opinion, it’s a more bittersweet one. Maybe he’s thinking back on his time with Oda here and missing him, who knows. Atsushi did emphasize the importance of Dazai’s smile in episode 9, as it is how Atsushi knows Dazai for presenting himself. That doesn’t mean it’s a genuine happy smile, but he’s known for smiling nonetheless.
