Opposites Attract Theory - Ellie x Bimbo!reader
Tumblr media
Ellie was everything you weren’t. She was a girl in brown plaid button ups, who could only find comfort in wearing her father’s oversized chocolate suede jacket.  She could hardly be described as sweet or adorable, not like you were. Ellie was reserved, masculine, angry, and traumatized. Ellie smoked cigarettes to keep her nerves at bay, cut chunks off of the ends of her hair when they got too long and feminine, spent all her money on tattoos if she wasn’t spending it on you, wore old men’s weathered leather shoes, painted her nails with the cheapest black polish just so they could chip on purpose, and tucked her strap into her pants because it just felt right. No more, no less.
All of those descriptions she’d agreed with, but just one word was missing. The word ‘provider.’ The aspect of her character that she prided herself on the most, was being your provider.
You were her opposite, the light to her shadow. You were naive, sweet, bubbly. Your eyes were big and curious, and you asked every question earnestly. You bounced around in your cute little outfits. Low cut tops with your tits spilling out, dresses where the wind exposed the chub of your ass, and skirts so short they showed your plump little pussy, eating up your g-strings; outfits that made you easy prey for leering. You got your nails done, and showed them off by grabbing Ellie’s thick cock with both hands while sucking hard on her tip. You bent over to pick up dropped items because your acrylics made you clumsy, and squealed when your girlfriend smacked you square on your ass. You got little Brazilian waxes, and sent pictures with a smiley face saying “still a bit sensitive but do you think it looks pretty Els?” And you were shocked that she pounded you into the headboard later that day, until your vagina was puffy. You sat on Ellie’s lap when she beckoned you too, but never quite figured out that it was because she wanted you to feel her erection sandwiched between your ass. You pranced outside in thin little pink shirts that showed the outline of your plump nipples and areola, and started pouting when Ellie draped her jacket on you before she let you step out of her car.
You pouted about how your girlfriend was “too overprotective” but you were a ditzy, trusting airhead, who had the IQ of a care bear. Ellie didn’t have a choice, you were too stupid for your own good. Too sugary and sweet, sissy and girly.
You needed a guy like Ellie to pick up extra shifts for you, so you could go on your little shopping sprees, to buy lip gloss and candy. You needed a guy like Ellie to come everywhere with you, so creepy fucks would know that the pretty little bimbo had a gaurd dog next to her who would snap, snarl and bite them. You needed a guy like Ellie to run her tongue around your little pink hole, twitching and hungry, just to prepare that tiny hole as a warm place for her cock to sink into right after. Her balls often found themselves smacking against the bottom of your puffy neglected clit. You needed a guy like Ellie to indulge your little airhead babble, your piss poor attempt at conversation or even saying a coherent sentence. God knows you could yap for hours and say nothing of note, nothing anyone would perceive as highbrow or thought-provoking, but Ellie loved it. Loved watching those plump pink lips smack together to talk about dumb little girl topics like  “love island” or how “your pinks don’t match” or “beauty guru drama.”
And Ellie loved to indulge that clingy, pouty, needy little attitude you had around her. She’d bounce you up and down her cock, to shush your sniffles after she snapped at you. She’d rubbed your back, and promise to get your nails done just so you’d get overwhelmed with joy and cry “Ellieeee” in her arms, she’d wipe your pouty tears off your cheeks when you couldn’t take her cock all the way down, and tell you that you’ll get so much better after lots n’ lots of practice, she’d let you baby her when she was sick, and pretend that your poorly made chicken soup was the cure for her illness, and not the fever medication she’d been knocking back for the past week, she’d indulge your repetitive airheaded questions like “Ellieee, why can’t we print more money?” and “Ellieee how do you know you can see me? What if you’re you’re just imagining me?,” and she’d let you curl up with her brown jacket at night, cause it smelled exactly like her and brought you comfort in those days she had too many back-to-back shifts and couldn’t stay with you. That jacket was her fathers, so for her to leave it with you, meant that she wanted to take care of you in a way he’d be proud of.
You were Ellie’s dumb little bimbo doll. Her pink hole to use as a fleshlight, her set of plump lips to watch suction around her dick, her sugary little ditz.
But you were also Ellie’s future wife, the future mother of her kids. The woman who provided the the most gentle balance to Ellie’s rough edges and hard lines, the woman who was her emotion support, her pillar, the grounded rock that she’d cling to during her rapid river emotions. In turn Ellie would be your guard dog, your emotional support, your girlfriend, your boyfriend, your husband, your wife, your butch, your provider. She’d be whatever you needed.

CHEST OF DRAWERS
The bedroom is often the very last room to be redecorated whenever a house is being renovated from top to bottom. Why is a question that I cannot answer. Due to the fact that this may be the room in our establishment that receives the least amount of foot traffic from guests, we do not feel as much of an obligation to keep this space as up-to-date as we might otherwise. Nevertheless, you spend a large amount of time in the bedroom, and you owe it to yourself to have a space that you can retreat to anytime you want, and which fills you with a sense of contentment and comfort whenever you do so.
You are going to need some form of inspiration to get you started when you are finally ready to let your wallet out of its chains and spend some money on yourself for decorating. This is money that you have earned and should not feel guilty about spending on yourself. When it comes to decorating, the following are some current ideas that are sure to get your creative juices flowing and get you in the mood.
Start with a neutral canvas in a light, relaxing colour like cream, wheat, linen, or tan and a carpet tone that is about the same colour as the canvas. For example, you may use cream, wheat, or tan. Utilizing a variety of textiles and accessories will help you bring some colour into the room. You shouldn't be scared to use florals or stripes for the drapes, and you can also think about adding some colourful accent pillows or bedroom chairs if you want to spice things up even more.
In order to provide the desired level of illumination, it is recommended that a traditional chandelier as well as a number of other, smaller wall sconces be installed.
Rather than hanging a large picture on the wall that is immediately above the bed, you might want to think about installing a decorative shelf above the bed and placing flowers or an interesting sculpture on it.
In place of a single huge painting, you might want to think about hanging a cluster of three or more smaller prints that have a similar theme over the bed as an additional alternative.
You can create a warm and inviting space in your bedroom in which to relax or meditate by arranging some bedroom chairs, a lamp, and bedroom chairs in a specific configuration.
It is recommended to suspend from the ceiling a canopy that is made of fluid silk.
To create an atmosphere that is passionate and seductive, paint the walls a rich shade of orange or gold. Plum-colored accents, such as a blanket or accessories, will look great with this. Wrought iron can be utilised as an accent material for things like curtain rods and candle holders.
Combining slate blue, navy, and chocolate brown can provide the impression of fullness and richness in appearance.
It is possible to breathe new life into an old headboard by reupholstering it with microfiber, suede, or leather. This will allow the headboard to serve its purpose for many more years.
If you are working with a colour scheme that is predominantly neutral, you may inject some personality into the space by using bold accents such as red and black throw pillows, bedroom chairs, or flowers.
When deciding how to decorate your home, you should take into account the present time of year. The bright yellows and sunflowers take one's mind back to the balmy summer months. The use of pastel colours, delicate flower patterns, and fresh green accents are all elements that help to conjure up images of spring.
Your drapes ought to be hung so that they are almost flush with the ceiling and then let to cascade all the way to the ground below. When curtains are hung in such a way that they are too near to the window frame, it creates the optical illusion that the ceiling is lower, and the room as a whole appears darker. When it comes to installing curtain rods, a good rule of thumb is to put them between 6 inches and 1 foot above the window trim. This allows for adequate clearance for hanging the rods.
Some people are completely naive to the concept that this chest of drawers truly carries with it a substantial amount of weight in the contemporary culture that we currently reside in. We have a tendency to think of them as components that are usual in our homes or places of business, but we typically do not consider how we may put them to use for ourselves in circumstances such as those that have been stated above. The times have changed, and more and more interior designers and lifestyle organisers are becoming aware of the ways in which drawers and wooden chests can assist individuals in organising their belongings and ensuring that their displays are kept in clear view at all times. This is a direct result of the fact that the times have changed. This is a direct consequence of the fact that different times call for different responses. This is a direct result of the fact that various times call for different responses to the situations that arise. This is a direct result of the fact that different times call for varied answers to the diverse events that come up in life at different times.
In the first place, chest of drawers are quite significant because they provide us the capacity to conceal things that we would rather not have other people see when they are looking in plain sight. This is one of the most important reasons why chests of drawers are so useful. The significance of chests of drawers cannot be overstated, and this is one of the most important reasons why. This is one of the key reasons why they are of such fundamental relevance; in fact, it is one of the most important reasons. One of the most important reasons why it is impossible to focus an adequate level of attention on the value of chests of drawers is because of this. It is of the utmost significance that potentially hazardous cooking equipment and towels, as well as expensive plates and cutlery, valuable documents, gorgeous jewellery, and irreplaceable diamonds, are hidden from view. This is because exposure to the elements can cause fires and other accidents. Things that are unpleasant to look at or things that might give people who look at it a headache are two examples of the types of things that we would wish to hide from view. Other examples of the types of things that we would wish to hide from view include embarrassing or embarrassingly embarrassing things. Things that are humiliating or even more embarrassing than they should be are examples of the kinds of things that we might try to keep from other people seeing. Things that are embarrassing to us are an additional type of thing that could fall into the category of things that we would wish to keep hidden from other people. These are the various types of information that we would wish to keep hidden from other people.
It is essential to have these drawers in your house since they offer both colour and texture to the general look of your property, which makes them an essential component of the design. Because of this, it is essential to incorporate these drawers into the design of your home. The great majority of these drawers have already been constructed, but if you so desire, you can modify them to correspond to your taste and make them appear exactly as you want them to appear. These modifications are completely up to you. You have complete control over this matter. These days, you can get them in a great variety of different iterations, and they can be made out of a huge variety of different materials. You can obtain them in a huge variety of different iterations. In addition, there is a great variety in the approaches that can be used to get them. In the past, you could only buy them in a maximum of one or two different variations each at a time. You could even put these in your bedroom, living room, kitchen, or library to give the design of any of those rooms a bit of a new twist on how things are traditionally done in any of those rooms.
In point of fact, when it comes to these drawers, you have a wide array of alternatives to pick from, giving you with plenty of area for personalization and customisation. The most important thing to do is to determine which of the potential solutions is going to meet your requirements the best, and then to validate that option by making sure that it will cover all of those requirements. Once you have determined which of the potential solutions is going to meet your requirements the best, the next step is to validate that option. After you have determined which of the potential solutions is going to fulfil your requirements in the most satisfactory manner, the next most crucial thing for you to do is to determine which of the potential solutions is going to fulfil your requirements in the least satisfactory manner.

// Part 1 // Part 3 //
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The light was streaming through the almost translucent curtains, warming the room up nicely; birds were chirping at each other, content at today’s weather, thankful for a sunny day instead of the typical foggy grey-ish looking one. It looked as if today was a promising day, one to spend outside, walking in a park, maybe having a picnic with your friends; a day to fall in love and to be truly happy even if you were just having a lazy day with your lover.
Roger woke up due to the light that burned his eyelids, indicating that it was early in the morning and that he had to leave before Y/N woke up. Last night was different to him, it felt different at least, they rarely talked about that kind of transcendental stuff -the future, you know?-, they rather just joke around, as if they were real friends, as if they weren’t naked under the covers and they were just lazing.
Last night felt special, he reckoned, they seemed more connected than usual and Roger was okay with that, but simultaneously he was really scared about it, he didn’t tend to form substantial bonds with the people he kept this type of relationships, he rather just do what his body craved for and leave, no more words required, just the carnality of the whole ordeal. But with Y/N was different, there were so many interesting things that he enjoyed about her, and unlike the other woman that he frequented, he had to work to get to her, she was unique because she was herself and nobody else. So why was he so afraid?
With a sigh, he looked over his shoulder, Y/N was still very much asleep on the other side of the bed they were still lying on, small snores slipped from her mouth intermittently, she looked calm, a similar feeling resting on Roger’s chest as he gazed at her with tenderness, a feeling that soon was replaced with pure guilt.
He stretched his arms over his head and stood up wanting to crack his back but stopping so that he wouldn’t wake her up. Even though he had considered staying multiple times he always decided against it, so as usual he just grabbed his things from where they laid randomly on her floor and took them to the hallway, where he started to dress himself in the clothes he found on the way out of her flat.
Like most times, guilt rested on the pit of his stomach making him feel fidgety and uneasy, he hated leaving and he hated lying. He groaned as he rubbed his face with both hands, last night repeating in his head, the question, her skin, her lips, and how she opened up her soul, he was really stupid for ignoring such raw moment and even more for not speaking up.
“Say you’re mine” He groaned, his head lulling forward in concentration, sweat dripping off his face, mixing with hers as it cascaded down the valley of her chest.
“I’m yours.” She moaned into his ear, earning a grunt in return as she clawed at his back, surely leaving some red marks.
The small pang of pain apparently edged Roger as he responded in an animalistic manner: “Yes, you are.”
“And I’m yours” he mumbled, before kissing her, such mumble was lost by the feeling of each other’s lips and the slapping sounds their bodies made as they rocked against one another, the headboard moving in harmony.
He's never felt more alive...
He looked around her flat, taking everything in, truly second-guessing if he should leave or not, but his mind was suddenly taken off the topic when his eyes caught sight of a little notepad lying on her countertop, a pen next to it. A thought crossed his mind and he decided to listen to it, so he grabbed the notepad and pen and wrote down a simple sentence for Y/N to read once she wakes up.
As if a note could make his departure any less hurtful, as if it could cover all the things he was keeping from her.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mirroring Roger's wakening, Y/N woke up with the tender touch of the unusual rays of sun grazing the exposed skin of her back, echoing the touch of Roger's coarse fingertips, even in her sleep she swore she could still feel his touch. Unlike earlier in the morning the birds have ceased chirping and the only hint of their presence were their silhouettes intermittently blocking the sunlight; they were basking in the gift that was the sun, its appearance was bizarre, so when the clouds decided to let the star come out and play, nature sung along to the tune that the light gave off.
Even though her brain already knew that Roger was no longer laying next to her, the ghosts that danced on her skin made heart hopeful, she longed to find him in the same place he was in when they decided to fall asleep; reason why when she turned her body on herself and face the other side of the bed, her fingers stretched in search of her partner's body heat, yet she found nothing but coldness and the empty bed, leaving a similar feeling on the centre of her chest. It's amazing how, after all this time, she can still keep her hopes up.
Y/N's hand mindlessly patted around the place where Roger used to rest, and with a saddened sigh, and after finally giving up, she lied on her back, her hand coming up to rest on her forehead, the feeling of emptiness spreading throughout her body at a much slower pace than pleasure spreads out. With a shake of her head, she decided to begin sitting up on the bed, firstly using her elbows then the heels of her hands and when she finally was in a comfortable sitting position she moved her body closer to the headboard as to lean her head on the cold surface.
Yet another sigh escaped her lips as she rubbed the tiredness off her eyes, she didn't necessarily know why she was tired, maybe it was the outcome of last nights events or... she was tired of running around in circles, chasing Roger endlessly on this ridiculous cycle. Now, she groaned in frustration. Y/N had found herself stuck in yet another series of emotions, as of lately her feelings have ranged from love and appreciation to despair and anger, Roger really had her fucked up.
She swiftly threw the scarce covers that were left on her to the other side of the bed making her shiver, consequence of the quick exposure to the sudden gust of air that came through her open window. Her arms flew up to her breasts in an attempt to cover herself both from the cold and the physical vulnerability related to being naked. And like that, she made her way to her bathroom, despite being in her own flat that little walk felt as if it was emulating the popularly known "walk of shame".
Without much going through her head, she started to get the shower ready for her liking, the water hot, but not hot enough to burn her skin red. As she jumped under the constant beating of the water her mind went numb and her actions quickly switched to auto-pilot, she wasn't up to giving the Roger situation more thought, knowing that if she let her head keep weaving this fantasies she will end up hurting herself even further, parallelly, she also knew that picturing tragic and saddening endings to this thing they had going on wasn't any good for her mental health, either. She was perfectly aware of how her mind could wander off and she was afraid that if she let herself do so, she might end up facing Roger and finally wrapping things up before they wrapped themselves, not a happy outcome, though.
Finally turning off the water of her shower she stepped out of the fog with a towel loosely wrapped around her chest as she held another towel to her hair, giving it a soft yet lazy massage as if to dry it up. On her way out the bathroom to her room, she quickly exchanged the hair towel with a brush, carefully unknotting the mess that was her hair.
With a huff, she opened her closet doors, looking for something nice to wear on an equally as nice day. She was going out with Kat and Donna once again, just this time they decided it was wiser to meet in this sweet little café before heading to Biba instead of meeting at a pub to watch Y/N's lover perform. She quickly threw on her underwear and some bell-bottom brown suede pants, a white button-down sleeveless shirt with a barely-there flower design; and for shoes, a pair of heeled brown and beige suede loafers.
She took a quick glance on her full body mirror, trying to make up her mind on how many buttons she was going to leave unbuttoned. After making up her mind, she was begging to the gods that the mark Roger left wasn't visible if she were to bent over a bit or if the flap of the shirt were to move slightly. Huffin out, her eyes quickly diverted to her face -she decided to ignore the hickey, it was there, fuck what people thought- her hair was brushed out, parted by the middle, sho all she did was brush the front strands behind her ears with the help of a white headband. As she got closer to examine her face, she quickly made up her mind to not over-do her make-up, she'll just brush her eyebrows, add some black mascara to both her top and bottom eyelashes and paint her lips a soft hue of pink.
With a shake of her head, she made her way to her small living room, deciding it was rather wise to water her plants and feed the cat before she went out with the girls. As she poured water on the mildly dry soil she muttered soft encouraging words, complimenting the way that their flowers bloomed or how green their leaves were, caressing the beautiful plants that made her home look lively, plants that she took care of religiously, keeping her somewhat grounded and making her small flat look lively, turning it into a home of her own. Next, she opened the door to her flat, knowing that it was almost certain that Whiskers was standing patiently outside waiting for her daily treat, although Whiskers wasn't hers, she loved him endlessly, he was a lovely cat, endlessly spoiled by everyone that lived in the building.
After leaving a small plate with food outside her door, she took her bag and left the flat, locking the door behind her -a thing that she had initially forgotten about-. As she walked down the street, she took notice on how despite it being sunny outside, a nice gentle breeze of air run from one side of the city to the other, and how when she got tired of the burning sun and she decided to hide herself in the shadows the buildings casted she got cold. Still, she made her way to the café near Biba that the trio frequented, her stomach groaning in protest as she realised she hadn't even had the care of taking an apple or some other snack to eat on her way to the café.
When she got there, she found herself facing the quiet little café, Donna nor Kat anywhere to be seen, so she made her way to one of the tables in the back, a waiter not far behind her, offering a menu with a soft smile. She quickly scanned the menu, pretending to make up her mind in something to eat, the waiter just stood there with a smile, Y/N went there quite often and she always ordered the same thing, he was taking her order in consideration, because the people behind the bar were already making her usual.
"I'll have... I don't know, the usual I guess" she answered, there you have it, bingo!
Everyone in here knew her already, the trio had the tendency to hang out there every once in a while, sometimes they just went there to relax or study, other times they reunited to chat and eat, prepare themselves before heading to Biba or whatever store they had in mind that day.
Y/N waited for her friends to arrive, they usually arrived on time, but strangely enough, the pair were taking a little more time to get there. You see, Kat and Donna were roommates, which made hanging out way easier for the three girls, they could all chill in Kat and Donna's place and have Y/N share a bed with one of them. Also, that meant that when they decided to go out Kat and Donna arrived simultaneously, and usually quite punctually, maybe they overslept.
Though Y/N's thoughts were quickly diverted when she saw Roger walking past the café, a know quickly forming on the pit of her stomach and maybe even her throat when she saw the same brunette from the night before running to catch up with him right in front of the large window showcasing the place, right in front of Y/N. It all seemed like a very poor written joke and she was having none of it, especially after seeing how the brunette's hand looked for the warmth of Roger's, smiling up to him and getting a smile in return... why couldn't she be her? It wasn't fair, it wasn't right, she felt played with, was she just that? A toy?
The clearing of a throat broke her out of her sad daze, as the waiter from before looked at her with an understanding smile, placing her black tea in front of her along with a croissant and a pain au chocolat; she smiled in return, though the smile never reached her eyes and the hunger she once felt when she arrived quickly dissipated into a feeling of nothingness, sickness even.
With a mumble of a 'thanks' she started to play around with her food, adding sugar and milk to her tea, even though she didn't really think she was going to drink it, too afraid that it would propitiate her sickness. But she didn't need to eat or drink anything to make the queazy feeling in her stomach grow, no siree, all she needed was to see Roger and the girl walking into the café, holding hands, finger intertwined.
Her gaze never left him as her eyes quickly watered, and he felt her eyes on him, how couldn't he? He had seen her the moment they stopped in front of the little place, he knew this place from Y/N's stories, he was well aware that this place was Y/N's little place and here he was, standing with another woman by his side, oh how he felt stupid right now, he knew he shouldn't have walked in there, he knew he was making a huge mistake, but he wasn't able to stop Gina -that was the brunette's name- from entering the warm looking café.
Roger had met Gina not too long ago, he had bumped into her at Biba to be exact when looking for clothes with Freddie and Mary. He wasn't planning on talking to her, but she was too kind and too sweet, and he was too stupid, he never dared stop her from talking. And one thing let to the other, and next thing you know they were seeing one another, Gina didn't know about Y/N and Y/N didn't know about Gina, until know, and he could feel the betrayal in her eyes without even looking at her, he had turned Y/N down so many times, too scared to fuck things up; but here he stood with another girl under his arm, a real douche.
Y/N's hand shakily rose, calling for the waiter, she was taking her food with her and she was heading back home, she couldn't stand the thought of being near them, she didn't know if it was out of pain and hurt or maybe even disgust. He quickly arrived by her side and she gently gave the food back to him, asking if he could wrap it up for her to take and if he could tell her how much she had to pay for it. And so he did.
He returned to the table with her food in a little bag and the bill for her breakfast, so she was quick to pull out some pounds, not caring for how much money she was leaving as tip, she was aching to leave and so she did, only bothering to write a quick apology note to her friends, she knew they'd understand.
As Y/N left the café, Roger finally dared to look at her and in doing so he could tell how badly he had screwed up. Y/N looked gorgeous, with her hair flowing down her back, barely being put back by the pearly white headband that rested on her head, her eyes, despite the sadness that had found its home there, were gorgeously framed by the darkened lashes, lashes that were starting to stain her lids, as they were wet from the tears that threatened to escape her eyes -he had made her cry, and it made him feel awful every time-; her lips that once were painted a light shade of pink were turning a paler shade by the second, as she was removing its colour every time her tongue darted out to wet the drying skin, same skin that was being bitten down as a way to anchor herself to stop the tears from forming. There she went, one of the most beautiful girls he had ever been with, he should've run for her, he should've chased her, but his feet felt heavy as his hand was wrapped around someone else's.
Y/N quickly hailed a passing by cab, wanting to get home as soon as possible, yearning to leave the awful scene behind, same scene that replayed in her head. Roger didn't kiss Gina nor anything close to it, but the proximity that they shared gave Y/N chest pains. She looked out the window absentmindedly as she told the cab driver were to take her, her fingers tracing small figures on her legs, trying to keep herself grounded. Don't cry...
As Y/N's gaze was kept on the outside, she took notice on how the weather changed, the sun that she was awoken by was no longer in sight, hidden behind the typical London clouds, it appeared as if rain was soon to approach but it didn't, it just taunted the brave folks walking around unprotected from the unstable weather. The birds that were once caught flying around had made up their minds and decided on heading back to their respective nests; the warmth that hung on the air had been replaced by stronger winds, leaving Y/N feeling cold not only externally but from the inside as well.
Y/N handed the driver some money and headed to her flat, her feet dragging as she went. The weather had indeed forgiven her, for as she passed the entrance to the complex rain started to pour. With a sigh, she got her keys out, only stopping herself from entering to pet Whiskers, who purred at the saddened woman, he could feel it radiating off of her and he didn't know what else to do to comfort her but this sole thing.
Once she closed the door behind her she fell to the floor, her back against the wood as she just let the tears roll down her cheeks, no sobs came out of her mouth, no sound escaped her, she just wanted to let everything out at once before pretending everything was okay. The living room's window was open, intensifying the lack of warmth in the place, she lived alone but never felt the solitude, not until today, the only company she kept was Whiskers, her plants and Roger, though she quickly realized she had to stop counting him as a company. The tears that were streaming down her face were leaving wet patches on her shirt and pants, not like she minded, but it made her shiver every time wind blew through the window.
She didn't know how long had she been sitting there, just crying her eyes out, but once she felt she had no tears left to cry she stood up, placing the cold food on the countertop and as she was about to open the bag her eyes drifted to a small piece of paper, lying out of place.
Sorry for leaving, dove. Maybe I'll stay one day... A future for the two of us.

Tumblr media
The apartment above the garage was not exactly what you had expected. It was almost three times the size of your old apartment, and so much nicer. It came fully furnished, the couches and chairs a soft brown suede. The walls were painted a light tan, nice and clean. No ugly water stains on the white ceiling, or disgusting stains on the wood floors. It had an open floor concept, with a bar and stools separating the living area and the kitchen. It had high-end appliances and came stocked with bowls, plates and anything else you might need to cook with.
Down the hallway past the kitchen was the bedroom. As large as your other bedroom, it came with a simple black headboard and two nightstands. The bathroom was across the hall, with both a bathtub and a shower. A small patio was off to the back of the living area let you overlook the large backyard.
It was so much better than anything you could have hoped for. You couldn’t believe how generous Jensen had been to give you this place to stay. He didn’t know you, you were a new nobody that worked underneath him. He was a huge, rising star. And yet, he had shown you more kindness that most people ever had.
“Is it to your liking?” His deep voice pulled you out of your thoughts, and you spun around your heart racing. He was leaning against the living room wall. He had changed from his black pants to a pair of jeans that were ripped at the knees, fitting tight to his firm thighs. He had a white t-shirt on under a leather jacket, sunglasses tucked into the neck. He looked amazing, and you had to work hard to pull your gaze away.
“This is amazing,” you assured him. “Are you sure you don’t want me to pay rent?”
He chuckled, coming to stand beside you, both of you staring out as his dogs ran about the backyard. “I don’t think letting you stay here is going to break me.”
You blushed under his glance, your gaze dropping to his scuffed up boots. “I didn’t mean it like that. I just don’t want it to be charity.”
He reached over, his hand resting on your shoulder. “I’m not thinking of it as a charity. I think you’re going to become valuable to me, and I want you to be close. My dogs are very important to me, and I want them to have the best care possible.”
His touch was warm even through your shirt, and you took a step back, a little unsure of what to do. Your movement caught him by surprise, and he quickly dropped his hand, frowning. “I will do my best, I promise.”
“Well, don’t worry too much today,” he said, pushing his hands into his pockets. “I’m home, so they’ll be with me. It will give you a chance to get your stuff all situated.”
You nodded, following him out of what was now your apartment. Shutting and locking the door behind you, you walked down the steps. “You’re more than welcome to park your car behind the garage.” He assured you, getting ready to head back into his house.
“I don’t have a car,” you told him. “I normally take the bus.”
He stopped, turning around to stare at you, his head cocked to one side. “You do?”
“It’s cheap, and it gets me where I’m going,” you insisted, feeling like he was judging you.
“No, I get that. I have no problem with that. But you were planning to move apartments while riding the bus?” He asked incredulously.
Truthfully, you hadn’t even considered how you were going to move from one apartment to the other. It wasn’t like you had a lot of possessions, but it would definitely take more than one trip on the bus. Which would mean a very long day for you. He must have noticed your look. Sighing, he slid his sunglasses on his face, taking his phone out of his pocket. “I’ll let Ruth know, and then we can get going.”
“We’re…,” you stuttered. “You’re going to help me?”
He shrugged. “Why not? I was just going to spend today relaxing, coming up with some more music. I’d rather help you out then continue with my struggle.”
You followed him into the garage where five cars were parked. The word cars had to be an understatement. The sleek black car you had seen yesterday was parked closest to the door, while another classic car was parked beside it. Then a Suburban, and a couple more you weren’t even sure what they were. “We’ll take the Suburban. Plenty of room for hauling.”
“You’re too kind,” you mumbled awkwardly. “This was so much more than you were expecting.”
He stopped the keys for the Suburban dangling in his hand, a perturbed look on his face. “Listen, I know I’m your boss, and this is all a bit new for you. But I don’t want you to feel nervous around me. I want us to feel comfortable around each other. And I don’t mind helping you out.”
You nodded, climbing into the passenger seat, buckling up as he slipped his sunglasses on. He backed out of the garage, easily turning it around as Ruth stood there, her hands on her hips. “I don’t think this is impressing Ruth any.”
“Ruth is a hard person to please. But she is just protective of me. We’ve been together since my mom…,” Jensen stopped, his shoulders sagging in sadness for a moment before he shook his head. “She’s been there for me when I’ve needed a friend.”
You wanted to hear more of his story. You actually wanted to know more about this man, and not only what he told the media. He seemed so nice, and from the little bit you knew about his personal image, so much different.
You guided him away from the fancy neighborhood, watching his eyebrow raise as you told him your address. He kept quiet, driving through the heavy California traffic, the radio barely heard. “Tell me more about you,” he finally spoke up.
“There’s not much to say,” you admitted. “I’m like everyone else in California. Moved here from the midwest, hoping for a new start. My life hadn’t been all peaches and cream, and while I knew it would be hard here, it couldn’t be worse than what I had left behind. I took any job I could find, barely enough to cover the rent of that crummy apartment. But then this job came along, and here I am.”
You didn’t want to tell him more than that. How your Mom had been a drunk, often leaving you at home alone days at a time. Bringing back her male companions, some of who had taken quite the interest in you. It was the last one, Tony, that had made you leave for good.
“I know that’s not all of your story, but I know we don’t know each other enough for you to feel comfortable to tell me the rest. But I get it. I came from a broken home. My Dad left my Mom when I was three, and she worked two jobs to support us. I did everything I could to repay her before she passed away.”
Surprising yourself, you reached over, squeezing his hand, hoping that you weren’t overstepping your boundaries. “I bet she’s proud of you.”
“I wouldn’t say that,” he muttered. “Is this the right street?”

TOUR A SMALL YET MIGHTY GUEST HOME
We’re throwing it back to one of our favorite smaller spaces today, a guest home built to provide a little extra wiggle room for the owner’s active lifestyles and visiting guests. Complete with a full kitchen, powder bath, master suite, and a fully functioning work space, this retreat easily functions as its very own freestanding home. Follow along to learn how we brought the spaces to life and how careful attention to detail, creative space planning, and ample storage ensure that every square inch is as functional as it is beautiful.
Tumblr media
Upon entering the home, a staircase with a minimalist steel railing and grid paneling lead up to the living quarters. Covered in a Tibetan-Botanical Sadu rug, a warm, texture-rich tone sets the stage for all of the spaces to come.
Tumblr media
The living quarters are located on the second floor with walls and molding painted in Benjamin Moore Cloud White providing a light and bright canvas for this sophisticated, open concept space where raw elements unite with those that are more highly refined. A combined kitchen, dining, and living space are adorned by rustic beams that draw the eye up, accentuating the impressive ceiling height. Wide 7-inch walnut plank floorboards in a Kentucky bourbon finish make the space appear larger and lend a welcome Old World charm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rich wood tones continue in the kitchen with oak cabinetry elegantly accented by campaign style pulls. We maximized storage through the installation of upper cabinets and the addition of drawer bottoms. Drawers allow you to store more and, more importantly, see more so that you're never faced with the loss of gadgets and appliances that somehow find their way into the recesses of an unlit cabinet. We also built appliances in to ensure that guests wouldn't lose any of that oh-so-valuable counter space.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ivory Calacatta countertops and backsplash contrast the darker tones used below and a streamlined plaster vent hood blends in seamlessly with the surrounding walls, magnifying the height and size of this highly functional kitchen.
Tumblr media
Dark bronze pendant lights covered with white linen shades (similar linked here) anchor the room drawing eyes to the gorgeous Neal & Co. hand crafted dining table that stands below. We broke up the heavier wood elements with white linen chairs and added a soft runner (similar linked here).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Multi-purpose furnishings that boast clean, structured lines fill the living space in a well-edited configuration that helps the space feel larger. Dessin Fournir antique brass side tables flank a two-seater linen sofa providing beautiful hidden storage.
Tumblr media
A teak coffee table and silk rug anchor the room, serving up the perfect place for guests to rest their weary feet.
Tumblr media
Cozy club chairs and white hide ottomans provide even more seating where you can sit back, relax, and soak up the sun streaming through the nearby windows.
Tumblr media
We love this photograph of Marfa, Texas which was captured by the family's friend. What a lovely nod to the beauty discovered in West Texas!
Tumblr media
A headboard swathed in Holy Hunt suede presents a casual, lived-in feel that would make any guest feel comfortable, and antique linen bedding from Plush Home ensures that they will enjoy an amazing night's rest.
Tumblr media
Blue lamps add a pop of color rested atop white Dessin Fournir side tables while scalloped book art from Natural Curiosities creates an interesting focal point.
Tumblr media
Between the windows, custom antiqued mirror, and Circa Lighting lamps, this bedroom offers up ample lighting that creates a bright and inviting ambiance.
Tumblr media
A distressed brown colonial cane chair lends interest and a charming sense of history to this streamlined space.
Expert Tip: Hang your drapery closer to the ceiling to make your ceilings seem taller.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the master bathroom, herringbone tiles line the floor and chrome pulls and fixtures lend a refined edge to the surrounding oak cabinetry.
Tumblr media
The powder bath is lined with driftwood wallpaper and topped with Cararra gold honed marble with antique burnished brass sconces and show stopping horn drawer pulls.
Tumblr media
Downstairs you'll find a workspace lined in warm, unfinished wood paneling that keeps the space raw and organic. Outfitted with ample storage for weekend activities like fishing, hunting, and skiing, as well as an industrial deep freezer, and a sink for easy cleanup, it serves as the perfect spot for any avid lover of the outdoors!
Tumblr media
We selected polished concrete flooring for its durability, and incorporated vintage brass hardware and a linen Roman shade that serve as refined details bringing the entire space together.
Tumblr media
We hope you enjoyed this home tour and that we've inspired you to make the most of any space you have, large or small.

Second home : a 3BHK residential project in Mumbai
Being a weekend home, the theme is kept contemporary, modern with clean lines, minimal design elements, use of a selective palette of materials and colours. A beautiful play of light and shadow is seen throughout the house at different times of the day. Each room is designed with its own characteristic, yet the complete look of the house is homogeneous.
Tumblr media
A narrow passage which leads to the living room on entering the house acts as a memory lane with family photos on its wall.
Also Read | Five interesting ways to redefine your kitchen
The living room is designed with rich suede fabrics, marble table tops, minimal furniture & neutral tones. We focused on how to integrate the large piece of furniture to maintain a sense of spaciousness. The contemporary sofa design coupled with the accents in decor, polished dark wood side table and Spanish brown full height curtains, bring the whole room together. In contrast to the neutral sofa, this bright saturated blue chair is modern, elegant, and inviting.
Adding some glamour to the space requires the prominence of a solid colour, and what better shade than a brown wallpaper with tasteful curios to pull it off! For bigger impact and more room for natural light, walls, flooring & ceiling have been kept muted. A combination of contemporary design and craftsmanship is this beautiful customized dining set made of Marble & faux leather with a pinch of gold.

Adding a pop of orange and black colour in the background in an otherwise very muted beige coloured dining area makes it stand out subtly. Living room is blessed with window openings on two opposite walls allowing cross ventilation and a beautiful, uncluttered, clean view on one side.
Kids bedroom
For the kids room, the client wanted design scheme which was gender neutral. Naturally, the decision to use white, yellow & wood was a given. On entering the kids room, the black & white doodled wallpaper covers the wall but it’s the intense yellow coloured headboard which catches the sight. The pops of yellow have been used in small proportions as its bright, energizing & gender blind. Besides the headboard is the window seating which is the perfect place to curl up with a good book or hangout with friends. To add some fun to the space, a height measuring ruler has been added on the toilet door & kids love standing next to it to see how tall they are !
Master bedroom
The shade of the space is calm, with dusty rose pink dominant suede fabric accents; the combination of both perfectly poised & gentle deviance. The long dusty taupe cushioned headboard gives a grand feeling to the space. Design of the furniture has been kept minimal with clear straight lines. A floating dressing table with a large circular mirror at centre creates the visual effect of a larger and luminous room. Snazzy accent chair adds glamour quotient to the otherwise subtle space.
Yoga Room / Guest room
First off, we designed an open but thematically zoned space for the owner's favourite home routine i.e. yoga. Therefore we’ve used natural materials like wooden flooring, khadi fabric headboard, marble table tops, bamboo lights & wooden louvers which gel seamlessly & bring harmony & uniqueness to the space. Walnut flooring runs seamlessly throughout room, meeting the large window frames, made of wooden panelling, harmoniously bridging the transition to the outdoors. Warmth enters the space via the sunlight cascading in from expansive windows, blending inside with outside. Wooden louvres filter out incoming light while assuring visual privacy.

The edges of ceiling are curved which blurs the lines of the space, thereby making the space look bigger. In later stage of execution, client requested a wardrobe, which was met by having a customised open wardrobe without compromising on the spaciousness of the room. The widow seat blends into the background & provides a cosy spot when the occupant just feels like hanging out.

Can Love Survive? Ch2
Because you’ve been good and I was putting off cleaning, you guys get to read another chapter already! Yay!
If you need to go back and catch up, you can find my previous fic “Crazy” and the first chapter of this fic here: https://archiveofourown.org/users/Yagi
There wasn’t much furniture in the apartment: a gray faux suede loveseat and sturdy wooden dining table with two mismatching chairs in the living/dining area, a full-sized bed with a bookcase headboard and a small chest of drawers in the bedroom, and in the bathroom just a small storage cabinet, all picked up at Goodwill. The only electronics in the place so far were a compact microwave and a clock radio; the TV would wait until Kurt had enough to buy a modestly-sized flatscreen. There were exactly five outfits in the closet, five pairs of socks and underwear in the chest of drawers and three pairs of shoes lined up on the closet floor. The only decorations were the drawings Zarah had done for him and a couple of pictures the two had taken together and had printed out on photo paper. Many of the (seldom matching) housewares such as dishes, towels, shower curtain, etc. were donated. One of the neighbors across the hall had been kind enough to buy him a couple of bags of groceries to get him started, and a couple of others gifted him with dishes of tuna casserole and macaroni and cheese. Despite the poor area and the fact his living space was Spartan compared to the luxury he had grown up in, Kurt was already starting to accept this place would be his home for a while. He was lucky to have gotten one so soon; had he turned down this apartment it could have been a year or more before he got another chance.
His first night in the new place was strange; he had gotten so used to the thin foam mattresses and flat pillows of the hospital and boarding home that his innerspring mattress and fluffy new pillow made him feel like he was sinking. After lying awake for a half hour tossing, turning and rearranging to try to get comfortable, he banished himself to the living room and lay down on the loveseat. At first he rested his head on one arm of the couch and draped his long legs over the other, but by the time he managed to fall asleep he had somehow managed to fold himself to fit tightly curled on the cushions with only a striped throw pillow underneath his head.
Kurt was awakened not by the alarm on the clock radio, but by the sound of the tumblers in the front door lock turning over. Someone was trying to get into his apartment. With the size of the place he was able to quickly and quietly get himself up and over against the wall by the door just as it started to open. He took hold of the arm that pushed it open, threw the person attached to it to the floor and was on top of them in an instant. In the light that streamed in from the hallway he could make out a youthful face, and the body underneath him was short and slight. A teenager?
“What are you doing here?” he demanded. It wasn’t as if he had anything worth stealing.
“I-I come here sometimes when my parents put me out,” the intruder said. “You live here?”
“I do now.”
“Well, I’ll just go, then… find a new place to crash… if you would kindly get off me.”
He took a moment to frisk the intruder to make sure there were no weapons before he got up and flipped on the lightswitch beside the door.
“You’re a girl,” was the first thing he noticed. The second was the split lip and large purple shiner on her right eye.
“Last time I checked,” she said, pointedly ignoring the hand Kurt put out to help her off the floor and standing on her own.
“Did your parents do that to your face?”
“What do you care?” she asked, a bit loudly for the middle of the night. “I just broke into your apartment!”
“You were only looking for a place to go,” Kurt said, much more calmly and quietly. “What’s your name?”
“Is this some kind of macho male fantasy you have of saving me from my parents, and then I’m supposed to be so grateful I come and live with you and be your girlfriend?” she asked. “‘Cuz, like, I’m fifteen and you’ve gotta be…” She figured by his gray hair he had to be at least her dad’s age!
“I’m involved,” he said. He didn’t mention the fact it was with someone only a couple of years older than she was. “I’m only trying to help. You can’t seriously expect me to see you in this condition and do nothing.”
“You think you’re the first person to try to help? My parents are experts at lying their way out of these things.”
The thought of going over there and threatening the girl’s parents did occur to him, but he couldn’t risk getting himself in trouble helping this stranger whom, it also occurred to him, could just as well be lying about her circumstances.
“First thing first, we have to get you looked at and your injuries documented,” he said. “Do you have a phone?”
“Don’t you?”
In truth, Kurt had recently acquired one of those, but it lay on top of the chest of drawers in the bedroom, and he wasn’t about to turn his back on her and leave her alone in the room.
“Let’s use yours.”
“If it didn’t get crushed and broken when you threw me on the ground,” she grumbled as she pulled the device out of her pocket. “Ohmygod, you cracked my screen! Look at this! Look what you did!”
“Considering you broke into my apartment first, I think we’re just about even.” He took the phone from her and opened the camera function, gently lifting her face into the light to get better pictures of the wounds. “I’m Kurt, by the way.”
The girl sighed and tucked her long, lank, dark brown hair behind her ears. “Britney,” she replied, “Like the singer. Are you finished?” Kurt snapped one more photo and then nodded. He was debating whether it was enough of an emergency to contact 911 when she interrupted, “Hospital number’s in my contacts under ‘Angela’ in case my parents look in it.”
He opened the contacts and, sure enough, there was an Angela in there, labeled simply “Angela M.” That would be Angel of Mercy, if he had to guess. He called the contact and tried to explain to the woman who answered what had happened. He left out the part where Britney had broken in, and instead just said she had come to his door seeking help.
“Could you send an ambulance right away?”
“No!” she protested, eyes large with alarm. “Those cost so much. Why can’t you just take me?”
“Because I don’t have a car,” he admitted.
“Then let’s call an Uber. They take me there, it’s like twenty bucks. The ambulance does, it’s more like two thousand.”
“All right, no ambulance,” he said into the phone. “We’ll be there at the speed of Uber.”
Which was not nearly as fast as he would have expected. Britney had taken her phone back and pulled up the Uber app, but nearby rides in this part of town at this time of night were hard to come by. Probably the only people even out getting Ubers this time of night were drunks needing picking up from the bar. It took half an hour just to find a nearby car to do the pickup, and it would be another six before the car got there. Fortunately Kurt had been sleeping in a gray t-shirt and gray plaid pajama pants, so he wouldn’t be indecent (since he still didn’t want to leave her in the room alone while he went to change.) For her part, Britney was wearing a pink tank top and coordinating striped capri pants that could very well have also been pajamas. The night was a bit cool, but she wasn’t shivering yet. Where was that car?
“Here it comes,” he said more to himself than to her.
It was a red Toyota Camry, Britney noted, just like the app said, and as it drew closer she was able to compare the license plate to the one on the screen. She opened the rear passenger side door and climbed in without hesitation. Kurt opened the front passenger door to get in, not trusting a vulnerable teenaged girl in a strange car with a strange man. Besides which, he was starting to feel just a bit respon-
The thought was left unfinished in his mind as the interior lights illuminated the driver. Sapphire eyes peered out of a light-complected, sharp-featured face crowned with a head of long auburn curls spilling over his shoulders.
“Nephrite?”

HEADCANON: zoe’s apartment
THE ROOMS ARE STRUCTURAL REFERENCES ONLY ( details in brackets )
Tumblr media
[ When she bought the storage facility beside her Uncle’s garage, it came with this office building. The office is through the door on the bottom left and looked like the picture below when she bought it. Her apartment is through the door on the bottom right hand side of the building. ]
Tumblr media
[ Zoe has since turned this space into mostly extra storage, but she does keep some necessary paperwork and a desk in here for when someone comes in to rent a storage unit. There is a small single-shower-stall bathroom behind where the picture is being taken from. ]
Tumblr media
[ This is about as close as I could find to the staircase that leads upstairs to Zoe’s apartment. The hallway beside the stairs is more narrow and goes back further, leading to a door on the left side that goes into the downstairs office. (This door always remains locked.)  There are framed pictures of classic motorcycles that go up the wall beside the stairs and a coat hook on the wall beside the door. ]
Tumblr media
[ The living room and kitchen are set up very much like this, except there isn’t a dining room table where there is in the picture. That is where the entertainment center and two large bookshelves on either side of it are backed up to a wall, and on the other side of that wall is the stairs that come up to the apartment. At the top of the stairs if you walk straight, there’s a closet with a washer and dryer set up behind the kitchen and another closet just past that where she keeps extra sheets, blankets and towels. Between the kitchen counter on the left and the couch is a doorway that leads to a small hallway. On the far right is Elliott’s bedroom, and across from the doorway is the bathroom (with one door from the hallway and the other from Zoe’s room). Zoe’s bedroom is at the far left end of the hallway. In the living room there is a wooden coffee table, a light brown suede couch and love seat (taking the place of the wicker chairs to the left in the picture) and a side table at each end of the couch. There is minimal decoration, because Zoe just doesn’t much care for collecting things that she’ll only have to pack up one day if she ever moves. ]

[ This is almost exactly how I envision Zoe’s room being set up and looking in general. Without that mirror thing above the bed. The sleigh of the bed itself has a slatted headboard and foot board and the wood is a little lighter, almost matching the light/medium wood on the front of the night stand drawers. There is a closet to the right that meets the wall at the bathroom door, and on the left is a large chest of drawers with a TV on top. ]

Homeowner transforms 'horrific brown guest room' into hotel-worthy bedroom
Not every home welcomes the same decorating trends, as this transformative guest bedroom makeover proves.
Homeowner Donna Horan tells us this spare bedroom in her house was dubbed ‘the caravan room’ by friends thanks to the veneer panel and built-in wardrobe surrounds that filled the far wall. Caravan chic’s not a great interior decor vibe to impress guests eh?
Another room in Donna’s house: Grey spray-painted kitchen cabinets & new splashback transform family kitchen
To quote Donna herself the room was a, ‘horrific brown guest room inherited with the house.’ Speaking of the decorating choice she says, ‘Must have cost them a fortune to put in but aptly inherited the name of ‘the caravan room’ by our friends!’. That was enough to make Donna totally transform the room. And wow, didn’t she do just that…

Nothing dates a room quite like an old-fashioned wardrobe surround. This example in Donna’s guest bedroom may not even be old but it simply wasn’t to her own taste. The wardrobes to the right of the bed were left in place to be repainted, while the surround was removed immediately.
Donna details, ‘We removed the fitted back wall unit and resprayed the wardrobes. Costs were around £400 for the respray’.

This guest bedroom is almost unrecognisable from how it was. The far wall behind the bed was stripped of the fitted wall surround and plastered. It’s now a serene landscape of smooth white – the perfect backdrop for the striking upcycled headboard.
‘I reupholstered two of the suede headboards and roman blind myself with the same fabric,’ Donna explains.
The remaining decor is now a vision of crisp white bedding with blue accents, including the tactile throws and sumptuous velvet ottoman. The design-led lighting choices add a modern feel to the room, offering boutique hotel vibes. New sockets, door handles and new carpet help to really finish the look.

‘ Donna happily writes when sharing the room transformation on our Facebook Group The Room Clinic. And we’d like to add a clapping hands emoji to show how we feel about the new decor. It seems we’re not alone;
‘It looks like a five star hotel now!’ exclaims a fellow group member.
‘Oooh very posh! Love the blue ottoman. X’ remarks another.
Another writes how much more spacious the room feels, ‘without the useless and bulky overhead box.’ An observation Donna herself agrees with.
