The first time it happened, all agents took their weapons out the moment Lena entered the building like she owns it.

Alex considered firing everyone who let her past the guard post and then shoot her. In the leg. Maybe.

"Take it", Lena threw something at Brainy, who somehow was completely calm. It relaxed Alex too, since Brainy was an expert on calculating danger level of everyone.

And then Lena just turned around and exited the DEO, like she was dropping of their lunch or something. And she was still fighting with Kara!

"What the hell, Luthor!?" Alex shouted to her back, only to recieve resolute "Shut up!" in return.

Alex sputtered, because: excuse me, but you came to the secret underground goverment facility like to your own office! Brainy muttered something, tinkering with the thing Lena brought.

"It's anti-kriptonite suit", he said in wonder, already running some simulations on his tablet. "She shouldn't has figured this out for ahother five years".

"Brainy, test this thing in every way you can, and if it's safe, take it to Kara immediately", Alex grumbled, but her sister's safety was more important than Luthor's strange wims.

Next time everyone still grabbed their weapons, but wasn't ready to shoot just yet, as Lena angrily stormed into the building. Perhaps it was because despite her stare she complied with every security measure guards asked of her.

Which didn't stop her from slamming thick file into Alex's chest.

"What the hell, Luthor!?" Alex saw how Brainy grabbed Nia's hand to stop her from standing up.

"Shut up", Lena returned, as she went back without any explanation.

Alex was left with papers and strange sense of deja-vu.

Looking through evidence on their resent villain and drafts of some devices to counter his powers, Alex thought about how Lena always choose time when Kara was absent from the building.

When they reached fifth visit like that no one was surprised anymore. Because everytime they would be stuck, Lena will miraculously appear with what they need. But she still stubbornly refused to talk with anyone besides Brainy and only about science behind her inventions.

This time she confidentely walked into the building, but Brainy instantly stood up. Everyone around them tensed, powers and guns ready. Lena opened her mouth to protest but he forced her to sit under bewildered eyes of everyone in the room.

"She's injured", was the only thing Brainy said, as he pried another helpful thing from Lena's hands.

"Am not", Lena replied, and Alex noticed how she slurred her words a little. "Take this shit and let me go".

Nia was already out of the room, fetching medical supplies, when Alex moved Brainy to the side to check on her.

"Left side, one inch lower than her ribs", he told Alex. Nia, who put Alex's medical bag down, gently rubbed his back, even if it was almost invisible that he was worried.

Alex pressed her hand under Lena's jacket where he instructed, and her fingers returned covered in blood.

Lena was still swearing, when Alex cleared her wound - bullet hole - and dressed it.

"You need medical attention, Luthor", Alex said quietly. After everything she was still angry at the other woman but it didn't mean she wanted her dead.

"If I show it to someone, I'm as good as dead", Lena chuckled, cleary half-delirious from pain and pain-killers. How she managed to get there on the sole willpower was beyond understanding. "Even if you want it, I would like to live a little longer".

Alex didn't answer. Couldn't. Even if she knew it wasn't true, some part of her wanted Lena to believe it. To suffer.

It was a shameful, selfish thought.

"Lena?" Kara's weak voice sounded incredibly loud in the quiet of their usual exchange.

Lena stiffened and promtly turned to flee in the middle of her conversation with Brainy.

"Lena!" Kara could catch up to her in the blink of an eye, but somehow near Lena she always forgot she has powers.

Lena spent too much time talking over some sort of mathematical models and Kara wrapped up her mission early.

"Please, wait!"

"Leave me alone", Lena gritted through her teeth, but even Alex saw tears in her eyes, as she sped up.

"She's hurting", Brainy supplied from Alex's side, as they both watched this strange chase.

"She's injured again?" Alex asked with small pang of guilt.

"No, she's hurting emotionally. More than she shows."

He didn't add anything else. They watched door slamming into Kara's pitiful face.

"Why are you helping us?" Alex asked her about a month after Lena and Kara's dramatic meeting.

"Shut up", Lena answered, tired as hell after three all-nighters they pulled to rescue Kara from another dimension.

"It's getting old, Luthor. Spill the beans".

Perhaps it's exhaustion, perhaps it is somehow sisterly look in Alex's eyes, but Lena is silent suddenly, before almost pushing words out.

"You said you will turn over the world for your sister, didn't you? I had someone like that once. My big brother, who would be the only one to treat me like a person in the place that was supposed to be my home. Who protected me from everything he could. And whom I admired so much I wanted to be just like him".

Alex tensed, as always when talking about Lex. But Lena's voice was quiet, and her face already wet from tears she seemed to hold for so long, and Alex shut her mouth this time.

"When he did all that he did, I was disappointed. But I still loved my big brother. But when he first tried to kill me? I was heartbroken. The person who withstood father's beatings in my place tried to kill me", Lena chuckled through her sobs.

Alex never allowed herself to think about Lex past his atrocites. She couldn't afford any pity for the person who tormented her sister and her family. But right now there was another little girl beside her who lost her only family.

"You said you will turn over the world for your sister, didn't you?", Lena turned to her. "I killed my brother for her".

She didn't said anything after that. Just cried herself to sleep. And Alex was just sitting there, left alone with shocking news and even more shocking realizations. Lex was dead. Lena was the one who killed him. He told her Kara was Supergirl and she still killed him.

"Don't pity me, it makes my skin crawl", Lena said the next day, when she was given her own pass to the DEO. She threw it on the table right in front of Alex, and agent considered asking 'what the hell, Luthor' just for the fun.

"I'm not. But after what you did for my sister and what you continue to do, the least I can do is to give you free entrance".

Lena sat beside her, tired and feverish from overwork.

"Don't care about me either".

"When will you talk to Kara?" Lena scowled when Alex ignored her, but still took the pass.

"Never, perhaps. I look at her and see the dead body of my brother. It's not something a little talk can fix. And she will blame herself, burdening me with another endless boundle of her apologies".

"She will learn of his death eventually, and then she'll found out how he died. It will happen anyway. And yes, of course, nothing will be fixed just because you too will talk. But maybe you can relieve some of your burden, and maybe several small talks will help you both".

Lena didn't lift her head from the shiny surface of the table. But she nodded tiniest bit.

Lena kept coming to help. Kara kept trying to talk to her.

One day Lena conceded, and then she screamed at Kara for an hour in the empty conference room and stormed out.

They had reverse situation later, when Lena came injured once again. Kara screamed about her being reckless, and they eventually reached her past sorrows.

They screamed, then talked, then whispered. And slowly started to smile again. Later came tentative touches, lunches and game nights.

So when almost two years later Alex found them in the kitchen doing something she would prefer to erase from her mind, everything finally became as it should.

favorite thing about them - honestly? How freaking beautiful Katie McGrath is. She's one of the most gorgeous people I have ever laid my eyes on. I could stare at her forever. She's like poetry in motion. Aside from that, I like the same things about her that I do about SV Lex: how hard she tries to be and do good, how she feels she has to be constantly on alert for possible corruption, how emotional and passionate she is, how she throws all of herself into whatever she's doing, gives all of herself to whoever she loves. Oh, and her competence.

least favorite thing about them - the fandom? ok, mild spoilers!!! her s6 storyline was bad and unnecessary and took away some of the things I liked about her. Some of the evil things she does in s5 end up never really being addressed, and it was a missed opportunity for character development.

agentcorp - no...idk what to say really except the vibes are off for me. sorry chyler </3 i know you wanted to kiss katie so bad. i think alex and lena have similarities & differences (just like every character does with every other character lol) but i personally feel like their specific similarities & differences would cause them to either enable each other's worst aspects or to butt heads constantly. just my onion i know many people disagree and that's fine. also the triple hit of alex trying to nuke lena and justifying it by twisting all her previous good deeds to make them sound bad, lying about it to her face while asking for her help, and then not advocating for her to get her memories back and even encouraging kara to deceive her once again all in quick succession in s5 -- all of which got swept under the rug in s6 -- really soured me on the friendship s4 had built up between them. so i'm not even really a fan of their friendship. tragique :(

braincorp - they are my brotp <333 i don't ship them romantically at all but actually their relationship is probably my favorite relationship on the show period. it helps that they are my 2 fave characters lol but also they are so smart and so bitchy together and i love them <333 brainy is so ride or die for lena even when she gives him literally the worst advice anyone has ever given anyone else in the history of the world and lena feels safe with brainy to express how she really feels and they are kindred spirits. also the parallel to the comics dynamic between brainiac & lex luthor [which should've made it to the show!!! where was the original brainiac???] is poetic. braincorp 4 life !!!

dreamcorp - again i don't ship them at all but it's so bonkers that developing this relationship wasn't more of a priority for the writers. little sisters with asshole siblings who blame themselves for their mother's deaths (and also have magic powers i guess thanks s6 🥴)...the scenes write themselves! or so you would think. i liked that they had some rapport in s6 but also ngl it cracked me up in 6x07 when nia called lena "family" i was like girl this is your first onscreen conversation ever 😭 you are colleagues at best...oh well. i like the idea of them becoming found family though. i don't see the superfriends as a found family (they are actually this cool thing called 'friends' instead) but nia & lena specifically i think could come to lean on each other in a sisterly way.

guardiancorp - so as i've mentioned part of what really piqued my interest in guardiancorp was the reveal that james had 16 scars from lex yet he was able to look past that to see lena for who she was not just as lex's little sister. james as clark's best friend and lena as lex's sister are kind of inherently tied together by the superman/lex drama and i'm interested in how they can work through that to love each other anyway. one thing i find interesting about them is that they are deeply different in ways that could set them at odds -- lena is a luthor, james is team super; lena is a white woman, james is a black man; lena is morally flexible, james is much more morally steadfast/rigid -- yet they are able to find solidarity and common ground with each other despite those things and have each other's backs. a lot of people like to point to the scene where lena & james are completely out of sync at game night as evidence that they were never really right for each other, but the thing i always remember is that lena wanted to practice with him afterwards. she wanted to put in the work. that's actually very romantic to me. another thing i like is how protective they are of each other; morgan edge might call james lena's bodyguard and james might take a bullet for her and dangle morgan edge off a building for her but lena is also HIS bodyguard who would make deals with the DA for him and poison her mother for him. they're each other's guardians. also they are capable of being so powerful and bitchy together like when they went to confront morgan edge in 3x09 that was sooo funny and iconic. i do wish the show built them up better and let us see their friendship properly develop in 3a instead of having them flirt in a couple scenes and then not interact for 4 episodes and then have kara & sam hamfistedly tell us they have chemistry. if i were writing season 3 i would give them a slower build and probably not have them kiss until the balcony scene in 3x17. but oh well. if wishes were horses i would have lots of horses. i wouldn't even know what to do with all those horses. so it's a good thing wishes aren't horses, if you think about it.

kellycorp / goldencorp (that's the name i just came up with now that i am advocating for) - i quite like this idea because it's a kelly ship i can actually get invested in. hooray <3 i think kelly would be good for lena and, crucially, i think lena would be good for kelly. they both are more 'outsiders' to the superfriends than the other members are, as evinced by the two of them being the last to know supergirl's identity, and i think they could bond over that. i could see kelly feeling comfortable being displeased/angry with lena in a way she maybe doesn't with the other superfriends, while also holding space for lena's emotions in a way Certain Other People Who Shall Remain Nameless aren't always very good at. and i could also see lena really enjoying spoiling kelly with her wealth and kelly being kind of into it. also the fact that the showrunners seemed weirdly allergic to putting azie and katie into scenes together, meanwhile azie and katie were supposedly constantly flirting on set and working overtime to try and sneak goldencorp crumbs into the background, suggests to me that their chemistry was so palpable and powerful that TPTB were scared of letting them loose lest the fandom descend even further into ship wars. ...ok that last part is just a silly little conspiracy theory that i made up so please don't repeat it as fact or even as plausible speculation but also why Did the showrunners keep them apart so much 🤔 makes you think !

mirrorcorp [mirrorverse iris/lena aka a ship i invented] - so if you've never seen the flash you are probably thinking: who is mirrorverse iris??? i'm so glad you asked. mirrorverse iris is a clone of iris from the mirror realm which is NOT an 'evil universe' a la star trek, it is instead a world literally inside mirrors. mirrorverse iris was essentially created by mirror monarch (don't ask) for the purpose of infiltrating the normal world. she spends an arc impersonating the real iris and is similar in some ways but is also angrier, more ruthless, and more impulsive. in her last episode she figures out that she wants to be her own person and live life on her own terms not mirror monarch's and she defies mirror monarch during a fight with barry and then she dies. don't like that she died i wish she'd stuck around she was an epic character. but anyway this arc takes place in season 6b of the flash which you guessed it coincides with season 5b of supergirl. so my pitch is that instead of teaming up with lex to continue project nonsense lena goes on a sojourn to central city and meets mirrorverse iris who is impersonating real iris and undergoing an existential crisis/crisis of conscience. and the two bond and become friends. and then mirrorverse iris doesn't die and she and lena have to figure out who they want to be for themselves not just for the people who created them or tried to mold them in their image. and then they kiss about it idk just saying it could be good!

nationalcitydistrictattorneycorp - i mean. you've seen the scene. possibly the most sexually charged scene in the entire show. unclear to me why both actresses decided to play it that way but ok queens !

peggycorp - not my thing but i respect the warriors 👍

reigncorp - sam is imo the best & healthiest friend lena could ask for -- actually the best & healthiest friend anyone on this show could ask for -- but i don't really think their relationship is improved or made more interesting by them dating. i do think they have hooked up in the past and they decided they were better off as friends.

rojascorp - i'm not a rojascorp shipper actually but i believe in their beliefs...andrea and lena definitely dated, i see them as exes who still have affection for each other & sexual tension, i'm just not interested in the idea of them getting back together. if anything i actually worry that andrea might be too deferential to lena? i think she sees herself as deeply indebted to lena and -- whether you're looking at the pre-crisis more interesting timeline where she directly has blood on her hands or the post-crisis less interesting timeline where she tried to kill supergirl & accidentally put william in the line of fire -- i think she has a lot of guilt and she views lena as a moral authority in contrast to her morally 'tarnished' view of herself. which is interesting & juicy because most characters don't view lena that way. but i don't know that it's a great dynamic for a romance.

spheercorp - jack is sweet and rahul kohli is pretty. here endeth my thoughts on spheercorp. ...ok i guess i can say a little more which is that like rojascorp i prefer them as exes/bffs to them getting back together. i also will say that, while i think jack's death contributed to a disturbing trend on the show of killing off south asian characters, i do actually rather like it as a character beat for lena. i enjoy seeing him pop up in fics but in the show itself i think him dying is kind of a better story. sorry jacky :(

supercorp - i mean i think the premise alone is kind of epic and awesome. a super and a luthor but they're in love. like that's just plain cool. plus think of the awkward family dinners! i am always here for ships that will generate awkward family dinners. i also think they have a lot of great comedy scenes together which is always a plus to me shipping-wise, i like ships with a comedic bent. but there's also a lot of juicy drama/tragedy/gay divorce with them too which is also good of course. as a big fan of dramatic irony i like the secret/reveal as a storytelling device i just wish they handled it better post-5x01 (i think 4x22 and 5x01 actually kind of nailed it ngl). i like that they both used each other's kryptonite on the other person and yet they were able to forgive that and love the other person anyway. i mean the actual in-show process of forgiveness was wack but the idea is spicy. and i like that, as kara herself (clunkily) put it in the finale, they really do challenge each other and push each other to be better. as i've mentioned before theirs is a relationship where actions have consequences and where every scene they have matters and affects later scenes, which is unlike.....well, most relationships on the show, frankly. i also tend to think their scenes are just generally better-written and have more subtext (and i'm not just talking about the gay kind) and interesting things going on in them than most of the rest of the show's scenes. for all my many gripes about how s5 & s6 handled their fallout and then kind of just papered over it with platitudes, i still think their relationship is one of the best parts of the show and it's still the major thing that keeps me on the hook.

oof. please imagine Alex asking Brainy why he doesn't carry a weapon, when they go on DEO missions, and Brainy confessing that he considers/considered himself a living weapon and thus doesn't need one

There are a lot of things that Alex notices about Querl. Like the how he acts around other people. How reserved he is altogether. But the one thing that she sees more is that he doesn't carry a weapon when they go out on missions.

At all.

So on a relaxed day, Alex saw Querl walking throughout the DEO. Wanting to know why, she walked with him.

"Director," Querl greeted without looking up from his tablet.

"Agent Dox," she greeted. Biting the inside of her lip as she thought about how to ask him.

"Is there something I can help you with?"

The question brought her attention back to Querl, and she wondered (if not for the first time) he had the ability to read minds.

"Actually yeah. I have a question and your free not to answer it," Alex said and continued when he nodded for her to go ahead. "I've noticed that you don't carry weapons when we go out on DEO missions. I was wondering why."

He stopped walking at the question, not expecting it.

"Brainy?" Alex asked, stopping when she noticed he stopped.

"I don't think I need one," he answered after a moment.

"Why's that?"

"I consider myself a living weapon and I find that I don't really need one," he answered. "If that's all, I'll see you around." With that, Querl started walking again.

Alex stood there watching as he walked off, with her heart breaking for him. She really thought about what he said. She's seen him in a fight, remembers him mentions of his thought tracks and how many he has.

She's really glad that Querl's on their side. She couldn't imagine it the other way around.

She made a mental note to remind Querl that she doesn't see him as a weapon. That she sees him a her friend, a person who she can depend on. And by doing that, Alex hopes that one day Querl will see that person she sees.

This whole episode had me stuck in my feels the whole time. AgentCorp, Supercorp, BrainCorp BroTP. And then other things that shattered my heart. Why, why can't we have nice things!

Also time travel...? Again...? Is this the Flash?

Querl with whoever you'd like... "All the knowledge in the world, and I don't know how to make this hurt go away."

He supposes it would be rather difficult to get anyone alone, over the holidays. Let alone in such a busy house as Kara’s, full of so many people who are concerned about his wellbeing and want to spend time with him. They wonder how he’s feeling, offer to play games with him and invite him to go places with them, and it’s… it feels good. It’s certainly a change from his family’s home, which is even more quiet and cold in the winter than it is at any other time of year.

(As it has been every year since he was eight)

(And he considers not doing so at all, because it’s his first holiday with Kara and he doesn’t mean to bother anyone. But he remembers how cold the world grew when it happened, how he wished he could take on Kara’s pain as he held her in his arms… and then an earlier memory, someone who didn’t deserve the curse Querl hit him with.)

It’s these moments that strengthen his resolve, and on a quieter day, he finds who he wants to talk to.

“Alex?” he asks.

She’s in her room- he knows she’s in her last year, and so he’s probably interrupting her studying. But… for something as important as this, he decides it’s worth it, and perhaps he can help her later on.

Alex closes the book she was reading, and looks up at him from where she sits on her bed.

“Querl? What’s going on?”

He lingers by her doorway, unsure whether or not to enter her room, before she gestures for him to come in, and he closes the door behind him.

“I… want to tell you something.” He says, standing next to her bed.

Alex lets him go on, and he does.

“Did Kara mention what happened before the holiday break?” he asks. “With the Dementor?”

Alex’s expression softens, and she reaches out to take his hands.

“Yeah.” She says. “Your mother sent it, didn’t she? Kara told me you were nervous about coming here, and afraid she would hurt the rest of us. And we made sure everything is safe.”

“I cannot thank you or Kara enough for that.” He answers. “I was afraid, of my mother. But Kara… she helped me to realize that I shouldn’t have to live in fear of her, or anything she might do.”

Alex squeezes his hands, smiling at him. He lets go of her hands, giving her a small smile in return.

“That’s great.” She says.

“I agree.” He tells her. “However… we will have to go back to school eventually. And there are some times when I wonder what Fabala will do next. I think about Kara and I, alone against the Dementor, and I…”

I think about my father, too. And if I could not save him, I can at least help others who may also be hurt.

Even if his curse was my fault.

He pauses, attempting to calm himself.

"All the knowledge in the world…” he starts, after he’s tried. “And I don't know how to make this hurt go away.”

“I’m sorry.” Alex says.

Querl nods.

“Thank you. But… since you are aware of what happened, I also want you to know that I have begun to study healing- so that even though I know Kara can protect herself, I can still help her, or anyone else who may get hurt because of my mother.”

“And you want me to keep it a secret?”

“For now.” Querl says. “Until I am more practiced.”

“I can do that.” Alex tells him. “And if you ever want to talk more, in school or otherwise, I’m here.”

“That is good. Kara is… she’s the first person who reached out to me, without fear due to my family name. I care for her very much, and the last thing I want is to lose her.”

Alex stands up from her bed, and gives him a hug.

“I don’t want to lose her either.” She says. “And thank you, for looking out for her.”

“Trust me, I would never consider otherwise.”

Just thinking about Some Future where they teach kids the history of the transmatter portal:

The Transmatter Portal known today is a farcry from where it started.

In the year 2016, while originally created with good intentions by Lena Luthor, the Transmatter Portal was first used to transport thousands of Daxamite soldiers and warships to the heart of National City. It was imperitive to the start of The Daxamite Invasion that devastatingly took thousands of lives, and was branded with blood. However, in 2019, the Transmatter Portal was repurposed in the tradegy we now know as The Crisis on Infinite Earths (COIE), this time saving the lives of over 3 billion individuals of E-38, both humans and aliens alike. We will never forget those we lost in The Crisis, and while many died and no value can be assigned to a single soul over another, the hostility and revulsion against the Transmatter Portal began to dissapate. Seeing a new (or rather old) opportunity, Mrs. Luthor recreated the Transmatter Portal on our new earth and devoted it's use for what she initially intended. With the help of some key individuals, L-corp revolutionized travel, energy, distribution of food and water to famine stricken areas, and so much more.

History will remember that the Transmatter Portal is not without it's blood stains, but any invention is only as good as the intentions behind it. Lives were lost, and lives were and will continue to be saved.

(Aka LENA IS GOOD. Kara Alex Brainy prob helped her, and that's right I said MRS. I wonder who her spouse is 👀. (Sorry for any glossed over details/minor inaccuracies I tried))

And when I said that the show tell us that at least Lena is right to feel this way I mean that usually the show is completely pro Kara so if even them are accepting that Kara made a mistake is a big thing right?

The show is pro-Kara in the same way it’s absolutely toothless in every other sense. It has yet to take a hard-stance that actually impacts other seasons, or even consequent episodes. It creates an issue to provide the story they want to write, and as soon as that story is done it’s never mentioned again. 

I’ll be truly surprised if this reveal confrontation and resolve spreads beyond Kara and Lena. They’ve had plenty of opportunity to have Alex, Brainy or Nia reach out to Lena and welcome her truly into the Superfriends. Alex will likely only be involved in the plot as far as Lena’s project affects/includes the DEO, despite how close they got last season. 

I don’t mean to sound negative or mean in anyway, but the way the show writes often reminds me of the times I get a flash of an image in my head, and I write a fic around that that moment or snippet of conversation. Which works for standalone fics, but not so much with a long-running television series. That kind of writing excludes a lot of talent offered by their supporting cast, and flattens the dynamics of the characters in general. 

That said, it does lend itself well to the weight that Lena has put into her friendship with Kara. The idea that Lena might have some fledgling bond with the others, but really only exists for Kara DEFINITELY feeds into the anguish we’re facing at the moment.

oh fun question.

now bare in mind i have not watched a seasons 1 and 2 in a while so i may be missing some points when it comes to Alex and Winn.

now i have already gone into detail about how i view Brainy and Alex’s relationship. but to sum up. they have a willing teacher, student relationship with sibling undercurrents. 

now when it comes to Winn and Alex they have a sibling relationship as well but theirs is a little more ‘traditional’ brother, sister relationship. they have a bantering back and forth. she takes drinks out of his hands, she tells him to get a wrench to ‘interrogate’ someone and he is all for it. he even smacks him on the head when he is acting dumb. 

there is a level of ‘sarcastic understanding’ if that makes sense. they are mean and hassle each other but they understand that its all in fun and love. (like when your friend waves at you across the street and you give them the middle finger in response.) they know there is no malice but still antagonising behaviour.

but when it comes to Alex and Brainy

they have a ‘softer’ relationship.

they still have a playful back and forth but it has less to do with antagonising and more to do with ‘built understanding’. they have had to work on their relationship in a way that Alex and Winn never needed to.

as Brainy would not understand the that mean or unkind actions could come from a place of love

(especially considering Brainy’s family history, this might also explain why he see’s Mon el as dismissive and giving him microaggressions, I am not saying this did not happen or that Brainy’s feelings are invalid i just think looking at mon el’s character growth that would make sense as a point of view, but that by no means makes it right or ok that he did those things)  

Alex has fingered this out and went for a softer approach to him, they still have fun with each other, but its different. like when she talk’s about the piazza’s he buys and asks if the two of them are going to eat all of them

if that was Winn she would simply sit on the desk and start eating in front of him.

she does not touch or approach Brainy until he feel’s comfortable.

like Alex slammed Winn into a wall and treated him to tell her who guardian was.

but when she wanted something out of brainy she stood on the oppsite wall and asked in softy what was wrong, ending with roughly ‘if anyone trys to hurt you send them my way.’  

which is interesting when you think about it. Winn (was at the time) far weaker than her and Brainy is far stronger than her. but since she understands its not about that it about how they feel so she treats them accordingly.

 so to sum up.

Alex is the best big sister ever.

and her relationship’s with them can be summed up with.

Winn and Alex- a hug then a punch in the arm.

Brainy and Alex- a hug and a kiss on the cheek.      

they both see her as a big sister who will have their back and protect them from anything that might need protection from. rather it be a rouge alien or their own insecurity’s.

Alex isn’t one for emotional outbursts.

Or, well. Not on a daily basis, at least. Just when the occasion called for it. Other than way-too-frequent near-death experiences, she really rather keep it together.

That being said, she liked to think she’s perceptive enough to know when her friends aren’t doing so hot.

Like, she’s no psychologist, but she’d say staying up until odd hours of the morning in the DEO roof is not a very good sign.

“Mind if I sit here?” She asks him quietly, gesturing the empty space beside him on the bench. Since when do they have a bench in the roof? Alex isn’t a betting woman but she’d say it appeared around the same time Brainy decided this was a suitable place to brood. With a shiver against the chilly weather, she doesn’t wait for his answer, knocking their shoulders together as she settles at his side. “What’s with the long face?”

Brainy blinks as if finally noticing her presence, eyes flickering from the dark sky to her face and sliding lower to the stone floor. “I do not understand what you mean, I’m afraid.”

“Don’t bullshit me,” Alex chides gently; after nearly a year here on Earth, idiomatic expressions and slangs are flimsy excuses, thinned by his tendency of absorbing knowledge like a sponge and happily doing so. “You don’t have to talk to me, but I saw you come up here this past week, you know? I thought I’d let you know I’d listen-- whatever it is, I’d listen.”

This is more to the point than Alex had planned on saying, at least in the first two minutes of conversation, but trivial things like this have a way of going in wild directions when it comes to any of them. She supposes they’re all past small talk, all things considered.

“You’d-- listen?” Brainy rephrases it as a sort of question, not quite tilted up enough to curve the question mark at the end, but too heavy to be a flat statement. His eyes are once more fixed on the sky and not for the first time, Alex wonders what he sees. Are the stars different in the future? A thousand years from now, would it still be this? How many of these bright dots would have disappeared? How many replaced and how many faded into a black void? “I don’t think there’s anything to listen. I miss my friends, my family, and there’s no way for either of us to know if I’ll ever see them again, if I’ll ever go back.”

“You’re lonely,” she realizes.

“For them, yes,” he nods faintly, “for all I’ve left behind. But I’m afraid there’s nothing to say, not now-- just wait.”

He’s right, Alex knows. What’s there to talk about? All they can do is wait with bated breath for Winn to come back, for any sign that the war is coming to a close. 

“Although,” Brainy clears his throat, adding hesitantly, “I wouldn’t mind a, uh, a hug?”

Oh god, Alex’s heart aches. “Of course, Brainy,” she wraps her arms around him, tugging him close like she used to do with Kara when they were both just teenagers growing up in a very strange world, secrets weighing heavily on their chest, “of course.”

top 3 favorite characters: The legendary Lena Luthor, my king from the future Querl Dox, and uhhh I'm actually not sure who's third? Could be Red Daughter, could be James, could be Nia. Could even be Eve who fascinates me despite being underwritten. IDK. Depends on my mood. ...And actually if we count him as a Supergirl character and not as a walking backdoor pilot then it might just be Clark. I do like Clarky boy.

top 3 least favorite characters: Mon-El obviously, Ben Lockwood who Manchester Black should've gotten to strangle with his bare hands, and...there are several other annoying misogynists I could list here but I'm actually going to give this spot to Overgirl because it's still so baffling to me that none of the higher-ups thought, 'hey, maybe we shouldn't make a crossover where AU versions of Supergirl and Green Arrow are actual literal Nazis.'

top 3 otps: Kara/Lena, Lena/James, Brainy/Nia

top 3 notps: Kara/Mon-El is a no-brainer, Kara/William was a flop, and I can't believe it even needs to be said but. Kara/Alex. No.

top 3 brotps: Lena & Brainy my beloved <333 And I like Lena & Sam's friendship as well. Honestly a lot of the relationships in this show are great in theory but a little thin in actual execution, but I enjoy reading fanfics where Lena is good friends with Kelly, Nia, and/or iconic queen Jess the secretary. [I wish I could give a brotp for Kara but honestly I think most of her relationships suffer greatly from how they write her character.]

top 3 favorite episodes/chapters/scenes/games in series: My favorite is definitely 4.16 "The House of L." Bonus points for epic title also, like, that's an iconic pun right there. I look fondly on 4.11 "Blood Memory" as well which I think is probably Nia's strongest outing on the show and also is an episode that actually bothers to do something interesting with the Danvers sisters relationship. And in terms of episodes that are consistently entertaining I do really enjoy a significant chunk of 5.13 "It's a Super Life" although it's tainted by the terrible ending (as well as the foreknowledge of what comes after). [You might be thinking: what about XYZ Season 2 episode? To which I sadly must respond: Mon-El.]

top 3 other things u think ppl who like this thing should watch/read/play: I'm going to refrain from recommending other Arrowverse shows because I think that's too easy. But I do think my recommendations would depend on what you liked or didn't like about the show? If you like light-hearted superhero shenanigans you should watch DC Super Hero Girls (2019-2021). If you were frustrated by the show's surface-level pop feminism then you should watch Revolutionary Girl Utena (1997). If Lena Luthor's character type fascinates you then you should watch Severance (2022-ongoing). [If you're in it for Katie McGrath I can't help you, that woman was cursed by a witch long ago to only be in the worst shows you've ever heard of.]

Brainy and Alex taking care of Alura while Kara is out being Supergirl

"Are you sure you should be out being Supergirl?" Alex asks, as she's holding baby Alura, watching Kara run around the loft. Alura looks up at Alex, unaware of what's going on. "You've only had Alura three months ago, I'm sure they don't need Sueprgirl that bad."

"Barry thinks they can't fight this without me." She stops as a thought dawns on her. "And you'll be fine. You aren't the only one whose going to be here."

"Yeah but Barry exaggerates a bit," Alex pointed out, looking down to make a funny face at Alura, to which she giggles. "I'm sorry. What do you mean I'm not the only one that's going to be here?" she asked as the statement set in. "You don't trust me with your daughter?"

Kara pokes her head out from the bedroom and gave Alex a look. "I trust you with my life. I just thought it'd be easier if you had backup."

"And who's this backup?" Alex's question gets answered as Querl opens the door and walks in. "Brainy's my backup?"

"I am Alura's father," Querl points out, giving Alura a kiss as he walks past.

"I thought you two could spent some quality time together while watching Alura," Kara says before Alex as a chance to ask anything. Alex squints her eyes as she looks at Kara and wonders, not for the first time, if Kryptonains really do read minds.

Kara walks out of her bedroom with her suit on and explains everything that they need and rushes out before they change their minds.

"So," Alex starts, "now what?"

"I think it's time for Alura's nap," Querl muses. "Though I think she should eat first."

"Alright. I'll keep Alura and you get her bottle ready." Just as she finishes her sentence, there's a noise coming from Alura and Alex doesn't need to ask why it smells all of a sudden. "On second thought, you change Alura's diaper and I'll get the bottle ready."

Passing Alura to Querl, Alex heads towards the kitchen and gets to work.

"You know, if you're ever to be a mother, you do have to change diapers. Dirty or not," Querl says, already getting Alura cleaned.

"I know. But I will hold of to changing them for now," she answers and makes sure that the milk is at the right temperature for Alura. Satisfied, Alex makes her way to Querl and hands him the bottle.

Querl hums and gives Alura the bottle, she takes it no problem. The bottle isn't half done when she drifts off to sleep.

"How are you doing with being a dad and all?" Alex whisper. Querl goes to Alura's bedroom and sets her down, giving him time to think over the question.

"It's different," he answers when he joins Alex again. "I never thought I'd become a dad. I always to scared of becoming horrible. But now that she's here I wouldn't change it for anything."

Alex smiles as she looks to the room Alura's in. "Well for what it's worth, you're a wonderful dad." Alura's cries stopped Querl from answering. "I'll go."

As Alex walked into Alura's room and picked her up, she thought that Kara could take her time. Alura's in the safest place on earth, her and Querl would make sure nothing bad will happen to the bundle of joy Alex was holding.
