hello, luv! i hope this isn’t too late >< also all my works are gender-neutral, so i hope it’s okay that i changed it from gf to s/o!
Warnings: terrible jokes and a lot of iKON teasing Chanwoo :”) honestly this kind of became a cracc fic - this is an OT7 fic, so Hanbin’s name is mentioned
Pairing: idol!Chanwoo x gender neutral reader
now playing . . . i have Bad Idea by Moonbin and Sanha stuck in my head ><
Tumblr media
Chanwoo glaring at his hyungs
The door to your apartment opens while you’re cleaning up. Chanwoo slips his shoes off and slides across the floor to where you stand in your bedroom.
He hugs you so tightly that you feel like your heart is going to burst. He buries his face in your chest, pressing a soft kiss to your neck.
You ruffle his hair after putting down what you were holding, hugging him tightly.
“[y/n], I have to show you to the hyungs... I’ve spoken so much about you and they don’t believe that I have an s/o,” he says, lifting up his face. “You’ll come with me, right?”
“Anything for you, Chanwoo,” you say, poking his cheeks. He grins before he pulls you out of the room by your hand.
“Let’s go!” he says.
“But wait, I’m still in my pjs,” you laugh, pointing to your clothes.
“You’re so pretty that I didn’t even realize,” he says, kissing the top of your head.
-
When you’re changed and ready to go, Chanwoo rushes out of the door with your hand in his.
“Chanwoo, slow down!”
The excited boy doesn’t listen as he runs with you all the way to iKON’s practice room.
By the time you get there, you’re a sweaty mess, gasping for air. Chanwoo bounces up and down, tugging at your sleeve.
“It’s in here, let’s goo!”
He pulls you in before you can even say anything, and suddenly you’re face to face with six other boys, also out of breath from practice.
“Chanwoo!” Hanbin says, walking forward to greet the maknae.
“Wait, who’s this?” he asks, pointing to you.
“That’s [y/n], my [s/o],” Chanwoo shyly says. Your surprised at the way he acts around the other members. Perhaps he’s so quiet because he’s only just joined the group.
Hanbin clearly checks you out right in front of everyone. He steps back, eyes moving up and down with a wild smirk on his face.
“Damn, you didn’t tell me they’re that attractive,” Hanbin says.
He turns to you properly this time with a toothy grin on his face. “I’m Hanbin,” he says. “Nice to meet you.”
The other boys, who had been sitting down to catch their breath, also stand up.
Suddenly, Yunhyeong blurts out, “Are you a parking ticket? Cause you’ve got ‘fine’ written all over you.”
There’s a moment of silence before many loud sighs and groans echo throughout the room.
“Really, Yunhyeong?” Hanbin says, shaking his head. “That’s Yunhyeong. He’s not funny.”
“I’m Donghyuk! You’re super pretty, I mean, it’s nice to meet you!” Donghyuk says, waving from the back of the room with a big smile on his face.
Junhoe walks forward to shake your hand. He looks at Chanwoo and mumbles something as you also reach for his hand.
“They’re so much prettier than I could have ever imagined!” he gushes. He laughs nervously before moving backwards, walking straight into Bobby, who uses that as a chance to introduce himself.
“Hi, I’m Bobby, nice to meet you,” he says, shaking your hand. He leaps up after you pull away, clearly way too excited.
“Why are you acting like you guys are meeting the President or something?” Chanwoo says, chuckling.
Jinhwan tries to walk up to you, looking cool but he clearly looks like he’s trying too hard.
“I’m Jinhwan,” he says, smiling earnestly.
“Okay, well now that intros are out of the way, can we eat or somethi-” Chanwoo starts.
“So, [y/n], what kind of men do you like?” Junhoe asks, cutting Chanwoo off and guiding you to a bench.
“You idiot. Clearly they’re dating Chanwoo for a reason,” Hanbin says, sighing.
“But I mean if you like muscular guys, I’m way better than Chanwoo. Here, feel my abs,” Junhoe says, reaching for your hand.
Chanwoo slaps Junhoe.
“Okay can you not do that?” he says, glaring at Junhoe while chuckling to hide his anger, only making him look much scarier.
“Wow, Chanwoo, I’m scared!” Junhoe says, sarcastically.
“Hey, [y/n], do you wanna see where we practice our vocals?” Donghyuk asks, getting up to open the door to the other room. You follow behind him, leaving Chanwoo angry and grumpy in the main practice room.
Inside, Donghyuk explains all the equipment to you.
“Try singing something into the mic!” he says, sitting down to control the volume.
So you end up doing that, all while Donghyuk compliments your voice excessively.
“Your voice is seriously so pretty...”
Chanwoo eventually storms in, throwing another glare at Donghyuk.
“[y/n], I think it’s time to go,” he says.
“What? But we just got here-”
“Yeah, you didn’t even let me show them how much I have to scold you during dance practice,” Hanbin says from behind Chanwoo’s shoulder.
Chanwoo closes his eyes and presses his lips together. He’s absolutely fuming.
“Hey, [y/n]!” Yunhyeong chimes in. “Are you a bank loan? Cause you’ve got my interest!”
“SHUT UP, YUNHYEONG!” Chanwoo yells, running back into the practice room to chase after him.
“Quick, while he’s gone, you can feel my abs!”Junhoe says, rushing into the vocal training room and reaching for your hand.
“Can you stop making [y/n] uncomfortable? Hey [y/n], do you have a song that you like? I can sing it for you,” Jinhwan says, also entering the vocal training room.
After Jinhwan practically serenading you for the duration of your entire favourite song, with his eyes trained on your face and him constantly smiling, you enter the main practice room again.
“[y/n], I really like your shoes. They’re super cool; where are they from?” Bobby asks, shyly approaching you.
When you start to explain, Chanwoo runs up from behind you and wraps you in a back hug, pulling you towards the door.
“Okay, everybody. Time to leave, bye!” he says, taking you along with him.
“But I just wanted to know where they got their shoes from!” Bobby complains.
“[y/n], it’s okay, you can feel my abs next time!” Junhoe yells.
“There’s something wrong with my cell phone. It doesn’t have [y/n]’s number in it!” Yunhyeong rambles, to which many more sighs and groans from the iKON boys follow.
Chanwoo sighs after closing the door of the practice room.
“I’m never bringing you back here again.”

Tumblr media
Choi Chanhee promised you that he would love you until the day he would inevitably stop breathing and cease to exist. You always laughed off the comment, thinking it was just a stupid saying he would be saying into old age. You wished you had taken it as a sign, maybe you would’ve been more cautious, maybe this whole situation could’ve been avoided. What you didn’t know is that he had died a liar when he said those ridiculous words. He loved you after he passed too.
Chanhee stood helplessly in the kitchen, watching you stand there with an aching heart. You were wide eyed, shocked and frozen from the news.
“I’m…sorry?” You stammered, hoping, praying, that your ears were deceiving you with mean elementary school tricks.
“Is your partner Choi Chanhee?” The man’s voice seemed down, like he was scared to tell you again.
“Yes, he is. We’ve been together since high school,” You informed him, trying to push down the sickening churning in your stomach.
“I regret to inform you that your partner has passed away. We received a call this morning of an accident. A truck had collided with a car. The truck driver seemed to be okay, but your partner’s injuries seemed to be more serious.” Every word pricked your heart, which was as fragile as a balloon being poked with a needle, “We tried everything, but he eventually passed away. I’m very sorry for your loss.” You nodded, your chest tightened painfully, your vision blurry from the tears in your eyes.
“Alright, thank you for letting me know. Have a good afternoon, sir,” You signed off, trying to keep your voice from cracking.
“You too, and again, I’m sorry for your loss,” The line went dead and you placed the phone on the kitchen counter. Chanhee? Dead? No, he can’t be. He had specifically said he would be careful on the road. Tears slipped down your cheeks like sweet raindrops, your knees pathetically giving out as you wailed, yelling out obscenities and curses. Chanhee ran behind you.
“No, I’m right here! Can’t you see-” He went to place his hand on your shoulder when he realised how pale, almost transparent, he was. He sat beside you on the floor, a million thoughts passing through his mind. He couldn’t comfort you, only able to listen to you cry his name in a desperate plea to bring him back to you. Chanhee’s heartstrings tugged harshly, but he was helpless. He was nothing but a memory now, a missing part of your shared apartment, a ghost.
Tumblr media
You stood amongst crowds of familiar faces, his friends, family, distant relatives, colleagues, the list goes on. Who they were didn’t really matter to you, what mattered was the casket being carried away from the church doors and out into the miserable weather. Fitting, you supposed, that it was pouring with rain on the day of his funeral. Attendees moved outside, umbrellas creating a dismal cloud of sorrow above them. It had been two weeks since Chanhee had passed away now, but for some reason you could not bring yourself to cry. No matter how many times you felt his absence, not even after looking in his open casket, no tear stung your eye. You watched emotionlessly as his coffin was slowly dropped into the rectangular hole just beneath his headstone.
                    Here lies Choi Chanhee
                Loving son, brother and friend
                 April 26 1998 - August 17 2021
Until we meet again, my love
You felt a hand slide across your shoulder comfortingly, Chanhee’s best friend, Younghoon’s. You didn’t react, didn’t flinch, didn’t move. You remained stone cold and kept your face void of expression. A different feeling settled in the pit of your stomach. Irritation? Anxiety? Frustration? It was hard to describe, which typically meant it was complicated, and you didn’t really like complicated feelings. You could sense a storm coming, and judging from the storm clouds of emotion in your mind, it didn’t look like it would be clearing up any time soon.
A distance away from the gathering of mourners, a pale figure stood solemnly. Sure, watching his own funeral felt weird, but Chanhee could only think of you, and how you stood there, in a similar way to him, unable to display your emotions. He wished for one second, just one, that he could understand what you were thinking, feeling, praying. Maybe there would be a way to ease the pain you felt in your heart? He was technically responsible for said pain, so shouldn’t he try and fix it?
Tumblr media
Younghoon had been coming over more, Chanhee would notice when he would be sitting on the foot of your bed, which you had not made the effort to get out of. Everyday, the time you would eventually get up would be pushed back. Before, it was only an hour later, then it was two, then three, then four, until one day, he noticed that you only got up to go to the toilet. He would listen to you cry, sniffle, send the occasional text to someone. Younghoon had seemed to notice, so had made it routine that he would come over at exactly 1:09pm every day to help you get out of bed and try to create a productive day together. Chanhee had memorised the sound of Younghoon’s footsteps, the sound of his keys jingling in the door’s lock, the way he would hum as he made his way to the bedroom. Younghoon had become the life inside of the dead quiet house. Chanhee noticed the way that his best friend would look at you, the sad sigh that would escape his lips when he saw you, sprawled out and weeping.
“Come on. You can’t keep moping in here,” Younghoon sauntered over to your bedside, crouching down to get a better view of your face.
“I can do whatever the fuck I want. Go away,” you hissed, pulling the covers over your head, childishly pretending that if you couldn’t see him, he would simply fade from existence.
“Bubba,” he called out sweetly, tugging the covers out of your grasps, “you’re running low on food. I don’t want you going hungry, and besides, it’s a nice day outside. Whaddya say?” With a low groan, you slowly rose from the safety of your sheets, loose hairs sticking up in wild directions. Chanhee rushed to your side, his cold touch to your cheek sending a cold shiver down your spine. He sighed somewhat sadly as he watched Younghoon help you out of bed. It should be him helping you out of bed every morning, it should be him trying to motivate you with small activities. However, deep down he knew that if it were him, you wouldn’t even be struggling to get out of bed in the morning. He was the cause of your lack of motivation, he was the cause of your pain, your suffering. Every emotion you were feeling right now was because of him, and somehow, in some way, he wished he was still there. He wished he was Younghoon.
Tumblr media
“Where’s Uncle Chanhee?” Your young nephew looked up at you with big eyes, confusedly looking around to find his favourite uncle. You sighed softly. You knew you would have to have this discussion with him sooner or later.
“Uncle Chanhee...isn’t going to be coming today,” you explained, kneeling down to the four year old’s level. Chanwoo’s bottom lip quivered slightly, “Why not?” He asked with glossy eyes. He had been really looking forward to playing with Uncle Chanhee, and couldn’t understand why he didn’t wanna play with him. You knew Chanwoo was too young to understand death, but he had seemingly noticed Chanhee’s absence. You chewed the inside of your cheek, trying to think of some sort of acceptable lie to tell a child.
“He’s not well today. He says he really wish he could play today, but he had to stay home,” You pet the boy’s head softly, hoping he would understand. The little boy nodded, seeming to understand.
“Can I make Uncle Chanhee a get well soon card?” He asked with wonder in his eyes, and you would have to be a monster to have said no.
“Of course, Woo. Go get your craft things.”
You helped your nephew decorate his ‘card’ which was really just a folded sheet of printer paper, but you weren’t about to rain on his innocent parade.
“I’m still sad that I can’t play with Uncle Chanhee. I wish he was here,” Chanwoo admitted, writing a sweet message in lopsided messy handwriting.
“Just because he’s not here in person, doesn’t mean he’s not here in spirit,” you explained, drawing a sun in the corner of the card for the youngster to colour in.
“What do you mean?”
“It's kind of like magic,” you pondered aloud, “like a hug you can feel from someone who is not there.” The child nodded.
“Yeah! Like it still feels like mommy is hugging me even when she’s not there,” it was your turn to nod.
“Exactly, Woo! You’re such a clever boy,” you ruffled his soft hair, making him giggle uncontrollably.
You were right, in a way. Chanhee was there, as a literal spirit. He felt a warm surge crash over his pale body, knowing that Chanwoo wanted to make him a card without fully understanding what was going on. A child too sweet for this world. However, it wasn’t Chanwoo he was focusing on. It was you. You weren’t crying, you weren’t wailing his name in agony. You seemed peaceful, collected, like you were watching the sunset over the sea. You were starting to come to terms with no longer having your boyfriend there. Sure, it pained you every morning to roll over and say good morning to someone who never even got into bed that night, but it didn’t hurt as much as it used to. He was unsure how long you would stay in this peaceful mindframe, but only the best storyteller will tell, time.
Tumblr media
“Are you sure you wanna do this?” Younghoon asked softly, eyes just as gentle as his words. You nodded, confident in your decision. You were a little unsure when you first brought up the idea to him, but it had to be done. The both of you walked up the hill in the cemetery, hands intertwined. You two had been dating for some time now, but you always had this lingering feeling that Chanhee wouldn’t like what you were doing. You loved Chanhee dearly, but you felt the same about Younghoon. It had been almost seven months since you received that phone call, but slowly everything in your life was piecing itself back together, formerly shattered after the tsunami of emotions that wiped out everything that made you feel human. You stood at the face of his gravestone, his name etched prettily into the cool rock.
“Hey,” you greeted, your hand slipping out of your boyfriend’s. Chanhee displayed an invisible smile.
Hey.
“It’s been a while, hasn’t it?” The sentence felt awkward and heavy on your tongue.
It has. How have you been?
“I’ve been doing well. Just trying to get by, you get it.”
Yeah, I get it. Is that Younghoon?
“I was getting to that. I’m not sure how it happened, but it did. He helped me a lot after you passed. I owe him a lot. Mainly ice cream,” You laughed at yourself, partially because of your bad joke, and partially because of how ridiculous you must sound to anyone passing by.
You’re dating now?
“Yeah. I just...I wanted to say thank you,” you blurted, playing with the tips of your fingers.
Why are you thanking me?
“You taught me a lot, Chanhee. How to cook ramen properly, how to make the best oven baked pizza anyone has ever had, but most of all, you taught me how to love. And while I love you so much, my god, you can’t even believe to comprehend it, I’ve found someone else that I love,” You felt tears spring to your eyes. You were the only one talking, so why did it sound like you were saying goodbye? You glanced at Younghoon, who only smiled weakly.
“Can I say a few words?” Younghoon stepped forward, placing his hand on your shoulder, the same way he had done the dismal day of Chanhee’s funeral. You nodded wordlessly, watching your boyfriend stride towards the grave of his best friend. Younghoon traced the etched marks of his friend’s name before giving a small smile.
“You’ve been gone too long,” he started, giving a sad chuckle, “and a lot has happened during that time.” Chanhee laughed silently at his friend’s words, slumping against the cold headboard of his resting place.
“But I will promise you this. I will look after them for you. I will care for, and nurture and love them for you. It’s what best friends are for, right?”
Chanhee nodded, a friendly smile finally adorning his features. He felt something new, something he hadn’t felt in a long time, peace. His body felt as light as a feather, as if it was drifting through the breeze. He dropped his gaze to his hands, only to see that the aforementioned body part wasn’t there. He was fading, an experience he had thought about many times before, but somehow, it wasn’t as scary as he thought it would be. Chanhee looked to you, and he could’ve sworn that for a moment, just one moment, you could see him, slowly dematerialising out of existence. He wasn’t scared anymore, scared of how you would cope without him. You had Younghoon, the only person other than you that he trusted his life with.
“Until we meet again, my love,” Chanhee bade his final farewell to this world, taking a small bow and with a slight change in the wind’s direction, he was gone.
You felt light, like the weight of an entire urbanised city had been lifted off your shoulders. Younghoon took his place by your side once more.
“Should we go home?” He suggested, earning a relaxed smile from you.
“Yeah. Besides, it’ll be dark soon,” you squeezed his hand, your eyes glowing in the reddened flare of the sunset. Hand in hand, you walked down the stone path and out of the overly large rusted gate. It was never easy letting go, not by any stretch of the imagination. You would always carry a piece of Chanhee with you, and even without him by your side, you felt closer to him than ever.

that’s what friends do
kim hanbin x female! reader
college! au (non idol) || 7.7k
mostly fluff, quite a bit of swearing, some suggestive themes, pretty much just friends to lovers nonsense because I’m a sucker for that
summary: you’re drunk and locked out of your apartment so what do you do? call your best friend hanbin, who you just happen to be in love with, and stay the night at his place, what could go wrong?
“I’m not drunk.”
“You definitely are.”
You roll your eyes. You’re in your best friend’s apartment, with her partner and some of your other friends. It’s a Friday night, and you wanted to celebrate the end of the week. However, your best friend doesn’t drink, so she’s mostly been watching you and laughing at all the dumb things you say.
“Are you ready to go home?” She asks. “I can drive you. I don’t want you wandering around in the dark.”
“Are you trying to get rid of me?”
“You know I’m going home for the weekend, I don’t want to get there in the middle of the night.” You can’t argue with that. You know she’s been missing her family recently, and you don’t want to take away from her time with them.
“Okay,” you grab your bag, pulling out your phone. “Let’s go.” She smiles and goes to get her stuff.
When she’s ready, she leads you out to her car. You sit in the back, since her S.O. always gets to ride shotgun. Your single ass can’t relate.
It’s a short drive, so you just hang out in the back while the two of them talk. You’re thinking about what to do when you get home. You texted Hanbin earlier, asking if you two could study tomorrow. He hasn’t replied yet, so maybe you’ll bother him. You hate being drunk and alone. When your friend pulls into your driveway, you reach into your bag for your keys.
“It was lovely seeing you again, y/n.”
“Yeah, you too,” you reply. You can’t feel them anywhere. You turn on your phone flashlight to get a better look.
“What’s wrong?” Your friend asks. You shake your head.
“I can’t find my keys.”
“You’re joking,” she says.
“I wish I was.” She reaches out her hand so you give her your bag. She pokes around in there for a little while before coming to the same conclusion.
“You’re so dumb.” She’s not wrong. “Call your roommate, she’ll let you in.”
“She’s at her boyfriend’s tonight...” You’re getting anxious now. You don’t know what to do.
“Oh my god,” your friend hits the steering wheel. “What do we do with you?”
“Can’t she stay with your roommates?” Her partner asks. The two of you shake your heads.
“I don’t trust them to take care of her,” your friend says. “They’re good people, but y/n can be way too flirty when she’s drunk. I don’t want her sleeping with one of them.” That’s a valid point.
“I don’t have any other friends-” you start to say when it hits you. “HANBIN.”
“Who?” Your friend asks.
“You know him!” You unlock your phone so you can call him.
“Is that the guy you’re always studying with?”
“Yes!” You scroll to Hanbin’s contact icon and click it. “I’ve slept at his place before, he won’t mind.”
“Is this a good idea?” Your friend asks. “Having you sleep at a boy’s house while drunk?” You don’t answer her because Hanbin picks up right at that moment.
“y/n,” he says. “What’s up?”
“Okay, this is going to sound weird,” you reply. Your friend laughs. “I’m a little drunk and I got locked out of my apartment and I need somewhere to stay so could I maybe sleep at yours?” You’re slurring your words a little bit, but you’re hoping he won’t notice.
“Of course,” he says right away. You hear a door open. “Where are you? I’ll pick you up.”
“No, it’s okay,” you tell him. “I’m with my friend, she can drop me off.”
“Can I talk to him?” Your friend says from the front seat.
“Hold on, she wants to talk to you,” you say to Hanbin. “She needs to make sure you aren’t gonna murder me.” You can hear him nervously laughing as you give your friend the phone.
You look out the window while she asks him a gazillion and one questions. She sounds concerned when she finds out he has 2 other roommates, both guys. You’re good friends with them too, thankfully. You can’t hear Hanbin, but whatever he says must be convincing. He’s the best person you know. But then again you’re drunk, and maybe a little in love with him.
“And you’ll take her home tomorrow morning?” She asks. You turn your head and try to focus on their conversation.
“He’s not my father,” you say from the backseat. You’re tempted to make a joke about him being your daddy but you hold it in.
“Make sure she calls me tomorrow as well, so I know she’s alive.”
“For god’s sake,” you mutter to yourself.
You’ve known him since you started university, but your friend has only met him once or twice. You and Hanbin are in the same program and the same year, so you have tons of classes together. In first year, you were thrown together for a group project. While working on that, the two of you quickly became friends. You started studying for all your joint classes together, alternating hanging out at each other’s apartments. Your study sessions usually turn into the two of you watching TV or ordering take out and just talking for hours on end. Sometimes Hanbin will share lyrics or songs with you and ask for your opinion. There have been a few times where you’ve been so deep in discussion, you don’t even realize it’s midnight. On those days, you crash at his place.
Your roommate is convinced the two of you are dating, but you constantly reassure her you’re not. Every time he comes over, you lock yourselves in your room, so she probably assumes you’re making out. You wish you were, but you’re happy being his best friend too.
“If y/n gets hurt, I’m going to murder you, I hope you know that.” There goes any chance you had with him anyway. “Okay, I’ll give the phone back to her.”
You grab it right away. “I’m sorry, I know she can be scary.” You say. Hanbin just laughs.
“She cares about you, it’s a good thing.”
“So I’ll see you in like 5 minutes then?” You ask.
“Yeah, are you hungry? Yunhyeong made some food earlier, I think there’s some left.” You smile at that, he’s so sweet. Total boyfriend material.
“That sounds lovely.” You glance at your friend, who’s turning the engine on again. “I’ll be there soon.”
“Okay, bye.”
“Love you,” you reply. “Bye.”
After you hang up, your friend just stares at you in the rearview mirror. “Did you just say love you?”
“Yes,” you say awkwardly. “That’s what friends do.”
“You never tell me you love me.” She puts the car into reverse and pulls out of your driveway.
“I love you.”
“It doesn’t have the same effect now,” she says. “Are you sure he’s not your boyfriend?”
“He’s not.”
“Friends with benefits?” Her partner asks.
“No!”
“He’s cute though,” your friend points out. “Definitely your type.”
“Yeah, I know.” You stare out the window again.
“Wait, do you have a crush on him?” She glances at you in the rearview again.
“I think it’s a little more than a crush,” you say, avoiding eye contact. “I might be in love with him, it’s fine though.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“He’s not interested.”
“How do you know that?” She says right away. “He’s going to take care of you right now, while you’re drunk, what boy would do that if he didn’t have feelings for you?”
“A nice one?”
“Shut up,” she replies, turning right onto his street. “You’re drunk, you’re flirty, go get your man.”
“Should we give her some condoms or something?” You and your friend both laugh at that.
“No sex,” she says. “Not while you’re drunk.”
“Hanbin would never,” you reassure her. “He always asks before touching me.”
“He touches you?” She pulls onto his driveway.
“In a platonic way!” You’re blushing now. You’ve been crushing on him for ages, but talking about it out loud makes it so much more real. You’re almost scared to see Hanbin now. You’ll wind up saying something dumb and ruining your friendship.
“We’re here, so you can go touch him all you want.”
“Stop it!” You take your seatbelt off and open the door. “I hate you.”
“Do you want us to take you inside?”
“I’m sure I can make it to the front door,” you say. “I’m not that drunk.”
“If you say so,” your friend replies. “I’m gonna stay here and watch you go in.” Your roll your eyes, but you’re grateful for her. “Text me when you wake up tomorrow. I told Hanbin too, so you better not forget.”
“I won’t.” You grab your bag. “Thanks.” She smiles.
“You’re welcome,” you close the door, but she rolls down her window. “I love you.”
“Oh my god,” you groan and run towards the house. You’re dying to get away from her so she’ll stop clowning you.
When you get to the front door, it opens right away. Yunhyeong is there, smiling. He must’ve been expecting you.
“Hey,” he says. He notices your friend’s car in the driveway and waves. She waves back before reversing out and leaving.
“Thank god,” you mutter, kicking your shoes off. You almost lose your balance, but he grabs your arm to steady you.
“Hanbin said you’re staying over tonight.”
“Yeah, and I’m drunk,” you tell him. He’s about to say something else but Hanbin comes walking down the hallway. You immediately run over and wrap your arms around his neck.
He’s caught off guard, but he hugs you back. “Hi.” His arms are tight around you.
“I missed you,” you say, before burying your face in his neck. “So much.”
“Are you okay?” He asks, smiling. You nod and look up at him. You’re glad he’s amused.
“You smell really good.”
“You smell like vodka.” That makes you laugh. “You said you’re hungry, right?” You nod.
He untangles himself from you and walks towards the kitchen. You grab his hand without second thought. Since the two of you are usually pretty affectionate, he doesn’t think anything of it. You’re extremely grateful for that right now. You don’t want to act suspicious.
Yunhyeong joins you at the kitchen table while you have some left over french fries from their dinner. Hanbin makes sure you drink some water too, even though you tell him you’re not thirsty. You ask where Chanwoo is. When they say he’s locked in his room gaming, you’re not surprised. You make a mental note to say hi to him in the morning.
They ask about your night, and you explain how you forgot your keys and have nowhere else to stay. When they ask how much you had to drink, you genuinely can’t remember.
“You better go to sleep soon,” Hanbin says. “I don’t want you to be hungover tomorrow.”
“I don’t get hungover,” you tell him, yawning. “I’m not old.” He rolls his eyes at that.
“You can sleep in Hanbin’s room,” Yunhyeong says. “He can sleep on my floor.”
“Why can’t he sleep with me?” You two have never slept in the same bed before, but you don’t see why it would be a problem. Falling asleep in his arms would be amazing, especially since he smells so damn good. And waking up next to him in the morning? That thought alone makes you blush.
“y/n,” Hanbin says, smiling. “What did you just say?”
“I said you should sleep with me.” The two of them burst out laughing as you suddenly realize why. “Wait no, that’s not what I meant.”
“Are you sure?” Hanbin asks, making eye contact with you. You know he’s joking but it makes you flustered.
“Yes,” you mutter under your breath. You’d be lying if you said you hadn’t thought about Hanbin like that. You know he’s got some tattoos hiding under there somewhere. You’ve definitely thought about them before, particularly while imagining yourself underneath him.
“Are you finished?” Yunhyeong breaks your thoughts, pointing to your plate. You nod and he picks it up, heading to the sink.
“Thank you,” you call out after him. You might be drunk, but you’re never impolite.
Hanbin stands up and holds out his hand. “Let’s get you into bed.”
“I bet you’d like to,” you say, trying to give him a seductive look. That’s probably not even grammatically correct, but he laughs and pulls you towards his room.
“You’re ridiculous.” You sit down on his bed as he cleans up his nightstand for you. You glance at your phone quickly, no messages.
“Go take off your makeup,” Hanbin says to you, “you don’t want to look like a raccoon in the morning.”
“Raccoons are cute though,” you point out.
“That’s true.” He heads over to his closet. “But you’ll complain if I don’t make you do it now.”
“Fine,” you groan, getting up and heading to his en-suite.
You grab the micellar water and cotton pads from under the sink and use them to wipe your eye makeup off. The last time you slept over, he gave you your own toothbrush, so you grab that off the bathroom counter and brush your teeth. When you’re done, you walk back into the room, pulling the scrunchie out of your hair.
“Do you want a sweater or a t-shirt?” Hanbin asks, holding out both to you.
“T-shirt, I guess,” you reply, pulling off your own and throwing it on the floor without second thought.
“Whoa.” He rushes to cover his eyes, which makes you smile.
“You’re allowed to look,” you tell him, grabbing the shirt. “I was hoping you would see me shirtless in a totally different context, but this works too.”
“What?” He’s smirking.
“Nothing,” you say. “I probably won’t even remember this in the morning.” Hanbin doesn’t say anything to that.
“Are you still half naked?” He asks a minute or two later, with his eyes still closed. The t-shirt he gave you is a free one from one of your university’s events. He got the biggest size, which you’re grateful for right now. You decide to take your jeans off so you’ll be more comfortable while you sleep.
“Hold on.” You take them off and attempt to fold them, but in your drunken state, it’s kind of difficult. “Okay,” you say, placing them on his desk.
When he opens his eyes, he glances you up and down. You act like you don’t notice, but you’re pretty sure his gaze lingers on your legs for a moment. You haven’t shaved in a couple days, maybe he’s frightened. He clears his throat, snapping you out of your thoughts.
“I’m gonna get you a glass of water,” he says awkwardly, turning around and walking out of the room. You don’t know what to make of that.
While he’s gone, you crawl into bed and grab Hanbin’s phone charger. He’ll have to steal someone else’s if he needs it. He comes back, placing the water and a bottle of Advil on his nightstand for you.
“Do you need anything else?” He asks. You shake your head. “I’m gonna put the garbage bin closer just in case you do feel sick.” He grabs it from under his desk and puts it next to you.
“Thank you,” you say. “Seriously.”
“That’s what friends do.” He smiles at you and you groan.
“I don’t wanna be your friend,” you tell him, yawning. You knew you were tired, but you feel like you’re going to fall asleep any second, now that you’re lying down and comfortable.
“What do you want to be then?” He asks, heading over to his dresser.
“Your girlfriend.” He freezes for a second. “I’m sure you’ve thought about it too.”
“Maybe,” is all he says in return. He grabs the rest of his stuff as your eyes slowly close. “I’ll see you in the morning y/n, sleep tight.”
“Goodnight,” you mumble, rolling over.
You fall asleep soon after that, dreaming of god knows what. But you wake up when you hear a shuffling noise. You sit up and open your eyes. It seems like there’s a figure wandering around in the dark.
“Hanbin,” you say. “What the fuck are you doing?”
“Sorry, I thought you were asleep.” You turn his nightstand lamp on and both of you flinch at the sudden brightness. “Are you okay?”
You nod. “Come here,” you tell him.
“Are you sick?” He’s holding his toothbrush and a notebook. He was probably coming to grab some stuff before heading to Yunhyeong’s room.
“No,” you reply, you’re still half asleep and you’re sure he can tell. “I just want you to come sit for a second.” He puts his things down, so you scoot over a little bit so there’s room for him.
“Do you need something?” You shake your head. “Why are you up then?”
“You woke me up, dumbass.” He blushes at that.
“I’m sorry.” You smile and take his hand.
“It’s okay.” He interlocks his fingers with yours. “Stay with me till I fall asleep again and I’ll accept your apology.”
“Fine.” He glances at the time on your phone. “That might take forever though.”
“Nope,” you tell him. “I have a trick.”
“A trick?”
“Yeah,” you say. “When I’m at home and I can’t sleep, there’s one thing I always think of and then I fall asleep no problem.”
“What is it?”
“You.”
“What?” He looks confused and it’s the cutest thing you’ve ever seen.
“Remember when I said you should sleep with me?”
“How could I forget?” You laugh, and he does too.
“You should.” His eyes go wide. “Not like that, but also like that, I guess...” You lose your train of thought for a second because you’re thinking about him shirtless.
“y/n?” You glance at him.
“Sorry,” you smile. “When I can’t sleep, I think of you, and falling asleep with your arms around me, and it helps.”
“That’s the most adorable thing I’ve ever heard.” He takes your other hand in his.
“But,” you say. “When that doesn’t work, I just think about kissing you.”
“You do?” He asks. He sounds genuinely curious. Surely he’s thought about kissing you too. Otherwise you’re just making a fool of yourself right now. Although it doesn’t really matter, since you won’t remember any of it tomorrow morning.
“I think about kissing you a lot,” you admit.
“Oh really?” You brain suddenly realizes there’s not that much space between the two of you, and it would be really easy to just do it now but you hold back.
“You should kiss me,” you tell him. “To help me sleep, I mean.”
“Drunk you is so entertaining.” He reaches up to brush some hair out of your face, which makes your heart beat a little faster.
“You’re not saying no,” you point out. He moves his hand down, pulling you in by the neck.
“I’m not.”
You blink. He’s looking at you like he does actually want to kiss you, but you might just be imagining it because you’re drunk. But you also really want to kiss him and now seems like a really good opportunity if you would just-
Your thoughts get cut off because suddenly Hanbin’s lips are on yours. He gives you a quick kiss, but you shake your head, wrapping your arms around his neck.
“What?”
“Kiss me properly.”
“You’re ridiculous y/n,” he laughs.
You quickly shut him up by placing your lips on his again. He kisses you deeper this time, taking your comment to heart. You get lost in the kiss, leaning back onto the bed and pulling him down with you. You expect him to stop before this gets out of hand, but he doesn’t. There’s a small part of you that’s scared of what this means for your friendship, but god, it feels so good to finally kiss him that you don’t even care.
When he pulls away, it takes you a few seconds to open your eyes. Looking up at him feels so surreal. You think you might be dreaming. You run your fingers through his hair and it’s as soft as you remember. Maybe not.
“Better now?” Hanbin asks quietly, never taking his eyes off your lips.
“Yeah,” you whisper. He glances into your eyes for a second, before leaning down for another kiss. This one’s softer, more gentle.
“Good,” he says, sitting up. You miss him as soon as he moves away. “Go to sleep.”
“I’ll try, but no promises.” He smirks at that.
“Sorry.” You shake your head.
“Don’t be.”
He smiles and kisses your cheek. “Goodnight y/n.”
“Goodnight,” you say back, closing your eyes and drifting off to sleep again.
The next morning when you wake up, you feel much better. You must’ve slept pretty well. When you grab your phone off the nightstand you almost knock over the glass of water Hanbin left there for you.
Right, Hanbin.
The last thing you remember is him leaving the garbage bin by your bed and saying goodnight. You vaguely remember making some suggestive jokes, but nothing too terrible. You didn’t totally ruin your friendship, as far as you know.
When you check your phone, you see a text from your best friend. Instead of replying, you call her. She’s glad you’re still alive. She asks about Hanbin and whether anything happened overnight. She sounds kind of disappointed when you tell her you just ate and went to sleep. She’s got plans for the day so you can’t talk for long, but she promises to text you later.
You stay in bed for a little while longer, scrolling through your socials. Hanbin knocks on the door about half an hour later. He asks how you’re feeling and tells you to take whatever you want from his closet. You decide to take a shower so he grabs you a towel. He tells you to come join them when you’re done.
Once you’re finished, you quickly pack up your things. Then, you grab your phone and head towards the kitchen. You’re walking down the hall, when you hear Chanwoo say your name.
“I’m so sad I didn’t get to see drunk y/n, she sounds like a lot of fun.”
“She’s very entertaining.” That’s Hanbin’s voice.
“She was flirting with you too,” Yunhyeong says. You creep a little bit closer, staying close to the wall, so they don’t notice you eavesdropping.
“Maybe.” Hanbin pauses for a second. “She said something in my room later on.”
“She was in your room?” Chanwoo asks.
“What did she say?” Yunhyeong asks, ignoring him.
“After r I got her some water and Advil, she said thanks and I was like ‘that’s what friends do,’” you hear someone groan at that. Probably Chanwoo. “She said she doesn’t want to be my friend.”
Your heart starts to beat a little bit faster. You’re praying you didn’t say anything too dumb. And if you did, you hope Hanbin will just write it off as you being drunk.
“She said she wants to be my girlfriend.” You cringe. It’s not terrible, but you’re still embarrassed.
“I knew it,” Yunhyeong says. “You’re soulmates.”
“Shut up,” Hanbin replies. “She was drunk, she probably didn’t even mean it.”
“I think she did.”
“We’ve seen the way y/n looks at you.” You cringe at that too. Have you really been that obvious?
“That’s not it though,” Hanbin says. You wish he would just shut up. You don’t want to know what other dumb shit you said. “I kissed her.”
“You what?” Yunhyeong says exactly what you’re thinking. You and Hanbin finally kissed and you don’t even remember it? You’re never drinking again.
“It wasn’t planned,” Hanbin sounds worried now. “I didn’t mean to, she was just talking about how much she likes me and I couldn’t help myself, and now I’ve ruined our friendship.”
“What did she say about liking you?”
“She said that when she can’t sleep, she thinks about falling asleep in my arms, and if that doesn’t work, she thinks about kissing me.” You roll your eyes. All of that is true, but you don’t know why your drunk self felt the need to share it with him.
“She’s practically in love with you,” Chanwoo says. He’s not wrong. You are in love with Hanbin, maybe he’ll finally realize now.
“What are you going to do?” Yunhyeong asks.
“I don’t know.” Hanbin sighs. “She doesn’t even remember it happened, when I said hi to her this morning, she acted like everything was normal.” You don’t know if you’re grateful for that. Maybe if you did remember, you could actually address it and somehow get him to date you already.
“Maybe that’s what she wants,” Chanwoo says.
“But is it what you want?” Yunhyeong asks.
There’s a moment of silence before Hanbin responds.
“No.”
“I knew it.” Chanwoo sounds so smug.
“What do I do?”
“How do you feel about y/n?” Yunhyeong asks. This is what you’ve been waiting for. You take a small step closer to the kitchen.
“What kind of question is that?” Hanbin responds. “When she said she wanted to fall asleep with me, I really wanted to get into bed next to her.” That makes you blush.
“Simp.”
“She’s adorable to begin with, but she’s like a thousand times cuter when she’s half asleep,” he says. You smile to yourself.
“Tell us more,” Yunhyeong says.
“Does he have to?” Chanwoo groans.
“I mean, y/n’s my best friend. She makes me laugh, she makes studying for the worst courses bearable somehow, I love spending time with her, I love it when she falls asleep with her head on my shoulder and I hate it when she cries,” he says. You’re shocked at how quickly he answers. “But I also love it when I can make her stop crying. I don’t know, I just really like her and I have no idea what to do about it.”
“You’re in love with her, we been knew.” Chanwoo sounds 100% sure. He’s not wrong, that is what it sounds like. “And we all know your lyrics are about her too.”
“What?”
“It does sound like you love her,” Yunhyeong says.
“Shit,” Hanbin mutters under his breath. Your heart’s racing, waiting to hear what he says next. “Yeah, I think I do.”
You lose your focus, ignoring whatever Yunhyeong and Chanwoo say next because you can’t believe it. Your best friend, the boy you love with all your heart, loves you too. You don’t know what to do next, but that’s a pretty good start.
“I should go see if she’s done,” you hear someone say, which snaps you back to reality.
You rush back to Hanbin’s room and sit down at his desk, trying to act casual. There’s a bunch of notebooks piled against the wall, so you grab one, pretending to read it. Until something catches your eye.
If feelings could be controlled, I would’ve thrown mine away a long time ago. I’m talking bout you and me, when I try to take a step forward, you take his hand and become distant.
You’ve seen some of Hanbin’s lyrics before, but only the ones he’s shared with you. It feels like an invasion of his privacy, but you can’t help but wonder if these are about you, especially after what Chanwoo said in the kitchen.
I’ve got feelings for you and you’re embarrassing me. Why are you so pretty if you’re not mine?
Your eyes jump to the top of the page, looking for a date. He wrote this a year and a half ago. You try to go back in your memory to figure out what was happening around that time, when it hits you.
You dated this guy in your English class that October. You remember he came up to you after one of your lectures and asked if you and Hanbin were dating, since you always seemed to be together. You laughed and rolled your eyes. He said he was glad he had the chance to finally talk to you, since that was one of the few classes you had without Hanbin. He asked if he could take you out for dinner that weekend and you said yes. When you told Hanbin, he didn’t seem disappointed, but he must have been if he wrote this. Your ex wound up leaving you after three months. He didn’t explicitly say it, but you suspect he was jealous because you spent more time with Hanbin than him. It was true, but that didn’t make it hurt any less.
You never mentioned anything about your breakup to Hanbin, but he knows you too well. You wound up telling him about it when you were up late one night talking. He held you while you cried, but he never said a bad word about your ex. Later on, you realized you were crying more about how you’d never have Hanbin than the actual breakup.
While thinking about that, you realize Hanbin hasn’t dated anyone in the time you’ve been friends. You know he has tons of other friends, and you know some of them also have crushes on him, but he never seemed interested. Now you know why.
Yunhyeong appears in the doorway at that exact moment, smiling at you. You put the notebook down, trying to act natural.
“Hey,” he says. “Have a nice shower?”
“Yeah, it was great,” you reply, awkwardly.
“You called your roommate, right?” You nod. “Are you going to head home soon?”
“You trying to get rid of me?” You ask, jokingly. Yunhyeong immediately shakes his head.
“Hanbin said you have some midterms and papers due this week that you seemed pretty stressed about. We just assumed you’d want to head home and work on those.”
“That’s kind of both of you,” you say. “Perhaps you have a point.”
“Do you want me to walk you home?”
“Where’s Hanbin?” You’re scared to see him, but you’re also excited. You’re curious as to how he’s going to act around you now. You didn’t really have a proper conversation earlier.
“I’m right here,” he suddenly appears next to Yunhyeong in the doorframe. You can’t stop yourself from smiling when you see him. He smiles back, which makes you a little flustered. “Have a nice shower?”
You roll your eyes. “I smell like you now.” Hanbin raises his eyebrows at that, and Yunhyeong smirks.
“I’m gonna go find Chanwoo,” he says. “I’ll leave you two alone.”
“Are you gonna stay for a little while?” Hanbin asks. You can’t tell if he wants you to, so you shake your head.
“I should probably work on my philosophy paper.”
“I should do that too.” You want to stay, and work on it together, but he doesn’t suggest it. You’re too scared to.
“Text me when you’re done,” you say. “You can send it to me and I’ll edit it for you.” He smiles at that.
“Thank you in advance.” You smile back. “I can drive you home as a token of my gratitude.”
“Can we walk?” It’s only 5 minutes, surely the two of you can act normal for that long.
“Sure,” he replies. “Have you got all your stuff?” You nod, grabbing your bag from the bed. Yunhyeong offered you one of his tote bags to put last night’s clothes in, so you pick that up as well.
You follow Hanbin into the kitchen, where Yunhyeong and Chanwoo are still eating their breakfast. You say bye to both of them, and promise to see them again soon. Chanwoo laughs at that. Normally you wouldn’t think anything of it, but now it makes you feel slightly anxious. You ignore that feeling and go to put on your shoes.
Once you’re outside, you feel so much better. Hanbin must notice, cause he’s looking at you with a weird expression on his face.
“What?”
“Nothing,” he says, walking down his driveway to the sidewalk. “They say fresh air is good for hangovers.”
The second you get over to him, you give him a smack. “I’m not hungover.”
“Sure you aren’t.” He gestures to the tote bag in your hand. “I can take that.”
“Thanks,” you hand it to him. “And thanks for putting up with drunk me.”
“It’s fine,” is all he says.
“Sorry if I said anything dumb.”
“You’re always saying dumb things, y/n, last night was no different.” You roll your eyes at that.
“I didn’t do anything stupid, did I?” You ask quietly. It’s the perfect opportunity to bring up the kiss.
“Of course not,” he says quickly, smiling at you. “You were actually kind of boring.”
“Shut up,” you mutter. He bumps his shoulder against yours as you turn off his street. While you walk, you send your roommate a text to let her know you’re on your way home. She says she’ll leave the door unlocked.
You and Hanbin talk about your midterms for the rest of the way. You’re slightly disappointed he doesn’t mention anything about last night, but you understand if he doesn’t want to ruin your friendship. You don’t want to bring it up because you don’t want to admit you were eavesdropping.
When you get to your front door, he makes sure you get in safely before saying bye.
“Thanks again,” you say, as the two of you stand in your doorway awkwardly.
“That’s what friends do.” You groan at that, which makes Hanbin blush. You must’ve had the same reaction last night when you said you wanted to be his girlfriend. You wish you could remember.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, right?” He nods.
“Of course.”
You give him a quick hug and say thanks again before he leaves. Once you close the front door, your roommate pops out from her room.
“So?” She asks, running over to you.
“What?” You put your things down in the hallway and follow her into the living room.
“Something’s up,” she glances you up and down as you sit down in the armchair. “You spent the night at his place, you’re wearing his clothes, your hair is wet - that only means one thing.”
“It’s not what you think,” you tell her, pulling Hanbin’s sweater tighter around you. It smells so freaking good, you’re never giving it back. Even though you have like 5 other hoodies from him.
“What is it then?” She raises an eyebrow.
“How much time do you have?”
“More than enough,” she smiles. “Let me put the kettle on.”
============
Things with Hanbin stay the same during the week. You edit each other’s essays and study for your midterms over FaceTime. He invites you over on Friday night to celebrate being halfway done with the semester. Apparently Chanwoo lost some bet between the three of them and he’s buying dinner. How could you say no?
The day of, you’re about to leave when your roommate catches you in the kitchen.
“Please tell me you’re not wearing that.” You glance down. You’re wearing one of Hanbin’s t-shirts and a pair of sweats.
“What’s wrong with this?” You ask. “We’re not going clubbing.”
“Yeah, but you want him to sleep with you, don’t you?” That makes you blush. “You should at least wear some makeup.”
She grabs your hand and pulls you into your room. While she goes through your closet, you shoot Hanbin a quick text saying you’re running late. This better be worth it.
In the end, your roommate lets you keep his shirt on. She says it makes you look more “fuckable,” whatever that means. You wind up changing into jeans and throwing a plaid shirt on top (which is also Hanbin’s, but you don’t tell her that). She brushes some brown eyeshadow on for you and picks out a nice shade of lipstick, which also happens to be smudge proof (“since you’ll be making out”). After you swipe it on, she finally lets you put your shoes on to leave. You’re unlocking the front door when she stops you again.
“What now?” She drops a couple of condoms into your hand. “Oh my god.”
“You and Hanbin would have adorable babies, but I don’t think now is the right time for either of you-”
“Why does everyone think I need condoms?” You say, mostly to yourself. You stuff them into your bag anyway.
“I just want you to be prepared.”
“I appreciate that.” She smiles and opens the door for you.
“You have your keys, right?” You roll your eyes but hold them up. “Good, now go get laid!”
You feel bad about running late, so you speedwalk to Hanbin’s. You get there in less than 3 minutes, which you’re quite proud of. When he opens the door, he smiles at you.
“Is that my shirt?” You blush.
“Yes.” You push past him so you don’t have to look at him any longer. It wasn’t so bad in class, because the two of you had something else to focus on. But now that you’re back in his house, you’re feeling anxious again. He still thinks you don’t know about the kiss.
“y/n!” Chanwoo appears in the hallway. “Pizza got here like 10 minutes ago, come have it while it’s hot.”
You follow him into the kitchen, where he grabs you a plate. While he does that, you open the fridge to grab a drink. The second you pick up a can, Hanbin magically shows up and takes it from you.
“I don’t think so.”
“Don’t tell me what to do.” You go to take it back, but he holds it above his head so you can’t reach.
“Kim Hanbin,” you say, trying to use your serious voice. “Give me back my drink or else I’ll never proofread your essays again.”
“I can easily find someone else to do that.” He keeps the can raised. You rolls your eyes but reach for it anyway. That makes Hanbin laugh as he tries to keep it away from you.
“Can you two stop flirting?” You almost forgot Chanwoo was there. Whoops. You glance at Hanbin and he seems as caught off guard as you, which makes you feel better. You snatch the drink out of his hand while he’s distracted.
The three of you sit down and eat, talking about your classes and your plans for the weekend. Yunhyeong shows up about 15 minutes later. He walks through the door holding way too many grocery bags, so you immediately run over to help.
“Thanks, y/n,” he says, handing you some of them. “I’m glad someone cares about me.”
“Of course I do,” you tell him. Hanbin comes over to help you put them away while Yunhyeong has some pizza.
When you’re done, you jump onto the counter. Hanbin gets a glass of water and sits next to you.
“Have this.” He holds it out.
“Excuse me?”
“It’s important to stay hydrated while you’re drinking.”
“Shut up,” you tell him. “I’ll be fine.”
“Fine as you won’t remember anything?” You freeze. It’s about time he said something, you just didn’t expect it to be like this.
“Is that really such a bad thing?” You tease, but he doesn’t smile.
“Yeah y/n,” he says, running a hand through his hair.
“Fine,” you take the water from him and have a sip. “I don’t want to forget anything that happens today.”
“Good,” he says.
“You better make it memorable then.”
“Oh, I will.” You don’t know what to make of that.
“What did I tell you about flirting?” Chanwoo says suddenly, getting your attention. You roll your eyes, but Yunhyeong changes the subject.
“Who was that girl I dated in first year? I can’t remember her name.”
“Alex?” He shakes his head. “I have no idea then, sorry.”
Yunhyeong runs through some other names, none of which you recognize. To be fair, you only became friends with Yunhyeong and Chanwoo last year. Sure, you spent time in their apartment, but they mostly left you and Hanbin alone to do whatever.
“Wait!” You say suddenly, remembering a story Hanbin told you a while back. Everyone stops and looks at you. “Is she the one who said you were a bad kisser?”
“Yeah,” Yunhyeong replies. “That’s the worst insult I’ve ever gotten.”
“Can’t relate.” Chanwoo looks smug.
“Have you even kissed anyone?” You ask him. “You’re like 12.” That makes Hanbin laugh.
“Shut up,” He says. “I’m only 2 years younger than you.”
“Hanbin’s probably the best kisser out of all of us then,” Yunhyeong points out. You bump your shoulder against Hanbin’s and he smiles.
“Says who?” Chanwoo asks. “We should run a survey.” You roll your eyes.
“What are you going to do?” You reply. “Make out with every girl on campus and ask who they liked best?”
“Well you and Hanbin have already kissed so-” Yunhyeong doesn’t finish his sentence. All of you are staring at him.
“I’m sorry, what?” You ask. You could just tell them you already know, but you decide not to. You want to see how this plays out.
“When you were drunk,” Hanbin jumps in, turning to face you. “It was just a dumb kiss, it didn’t mean anything.”
“It didn’t?” You ask.
“Do you even remember it?”
“No,” you shake your head, “but that doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings for you.” You hear Yunhyeong gasp. Hanbin just looks surprised.
“Did I say anything?” You ask him.
“You said-”
“Shut up Chanwoo,” Hanbin looks at you. “You said you wanted to be my girlfriend.” You could take a second and weigh your options, but you also know if you don’t say something now you probably never will.
“Well, I do.” Your voice shakes a little, but you’re confident in your answer.
“You do?” You might be imagining things, but Hanbin looks happy.
“Yeah.” He thinks for a second, then jumps off the counter.
“Come on.” He holds out his hand, so you take it. Neither of you say anything to Yunhyeong and Chanwoo as you walk right past them, down the hall to Hanbin’s room.
He follows you in and closes door behind you. Now that you’re alone, you don’t know what to do. You glance at Hanbin and he looks just as nervous as you. He’s leaning against the door. You wish he would come hold your hand or sit next to you or anything.
“y/n,” he starts to say, but you cut him off.
“I’m scared.”
“What?” He looks so concerned. You love him for it. “What’s wrong?”
“Come here,” you say without thinking. Hanbin sits next to you and takes your hand as you lean against him. It feels so natural.
“What is it?” He asks quietly, rubbing his thumb over the back of your hand.
“What if we fuck this up?”
“We won’t,” he says right away.
“Listen,” you reply. “You’re my best friend, and I absolutely adore you, but if we do this, and we fall in love and date and whatever and it doesn’t work out, where does that leave us?”
Hanbin turns to look at you. “Haven’t we already fallen in love?”
You answer him by leaning in and giving him a small kiss. You’re surprised at your boldness, but it feels right. When you pull away, the two of you smile at each other. You really do love him.
“Is that what our first kiss was like?” You ask, breaking the silence. “I’m so sad I don’t remember it.”
“It wasn’t like that, no,” he tells you.
“Oh god,” you groan. “Was it like messy and weird? I wasn’t that drunk, was I?”
“No,” he shakes his head. “It was actually really nice.”
“Can we do a reenactment?” Hanbin blushes. “Oh my god, was it like something out of a R-rated movie?”
He shakes his head again. “Maybe like 14A?” You gasp.
“You’ll have to show me.”
“Not today,” he says, “I have things to do.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” You frown.
“Just, uh,” he looks down. “If I kiss you like that again, I’m pretty sure I know what’ll happen next.”
That makes you blush. “Okay cool,” you say awkwardly. “We’ll save that for another time.”
“Good plan,” he smiles at you. “Should we go back out there?” He gestures to the door.
“What do we say?”
“What do you mean?” He asks.
“We’ve been in here, alone, for how long? That’s not what friends do. They’re going to have questions.”
“We’re not friends,” Hanbin says.
“No?” You ask, trying to ignore the fact that your heart rate’s gone up. “What are we then?”
Before he can answer, you hear Chanwoo’s voice outside. “If you two are fucking in there, let us know so we can leave.”
“We’re not!” You and Hanbin yell back in unison.
“Okay good,” Chanwoo responds. You both wait until you hear him walk away.
“Let’s go, so they stop speculating about what we’re doing in here.” You get up. Hanbin doesn’t. “What?”
“I love you.”
“I know.”
“Oh my god,” he groans. “Did you really have to quote Star Wars right now?” You smile, as he stands up.
“Sorry,” you tell him.
Hanbin kisses your forehead, taking your hand. You give him what’s mean to be a quick kiss on the lips, but he wraps his arms around you, holding you close.
“I love you too,” you whisper once he pulls away.
“Thank god for that.” You roll your eyes. “Come on.”
You’re not ready for the constant teasing you’re going to get from Yunhyeong and Chanwoo, but you don’t mind. Hanbin’s yours now, so at least you’ll suffer together. That’s what friends do, right?

God, Bao was tired.
She walked behind Chanwoo as they were directed to their seats. iKON was at an award show of some sort. (Bao hadn’t really paid attention to which one.) Not only had they been nominated for song of the year for Love Scenario, they also had to perform. The set was Hanbin, Bobby, and her doing a rendition of Anthem (Bao wasn’t a part of the original, but Hanbin added her for this performance) and then Love Scenario.
They had been practicing for the past two weeks, along with still carrying out their regular schedules, and now the actual performance.
Bao hated award shows. She loved the accepting of the actual awards and the crazy performances from other artists, but they took so much out of her. It also didn’t help that as much as she loved dressing up in heels and gowns (Their theme was tux and gown), sitting for hours in the getup got old really quick.
They walked up a few steps to get to the area where the idols sat and Bao looked down at the ground so as not to trip on any of the cables lying around.
“Here, Noona,” Bao looked up to see Chanwoo offering his hand. She smirked at his manners and reached for his hand. He guided her up and over to their seats.
As they reached their seats, they took quick bows in greeting to BTS who were sitting a row behind. Bao smiled at Yoongi, giving a small salute. He smiled, returning the gesture. Then Bao winked at Lexi who sat next to the rapper. Lexi blew her a kiss.
“What was that?” Junhoe asked as they took their seats. He was leaning over the maknae, trying to keep his voice down, but the poor kid couldn’t whisper to save his life.
“Haven’t told them about our friendship?” Junhoe jumped in his seat then turned back in his chair to see Lexi leaning in her seat, grinning.
“Wha-” Junhoe trailed off, looking at Bao with wide eyes.
“Never really came up,” the rapper shook her head, grinning.
“Ahh, Unnie,” Lexi pouted at the older, giving her hair a slight tug.
“Yah! Behave yourself,” Yoongi reached over to grab her hand, pulling it back. “Christ. We can’t take you anywhere,” he shook his head. Lexi giggled, going to reach for Bao again, but not making it far seeing as Yoongi grabbed her hand and just held on to it.
“I’d apologize, but you knew what you were getting into when befriending her,” Yoongi said, looking at Bao with a bored expression.
Bao shrugged, nodding her head. “To be fair, no one ever actually knows what they’re getting into with Lexi. ‘Cause there’s Blu then there’s Lexi. I was introduced to Blu,” Bao mockingly glared at Lexi who whistled, looking off to the side.
“Point taken,” Yoongi nodded.
“I’m sorry. I seem to be missing something,” Yunhyeong interrupted, giving Bao a slight pat on her knee to grab her attention.
Bao turned to him and winked. “Boy, BTS. BTS, my boys,” she introduced, motioning to each group. BTS all smiled while iKON gaped.
“Apes,” Bao muttered under her breath. She felt a jab in her side and found Chanwoo glaring at her.
“Don’t group me with them,” he grumbled, then slouched in his seat, folding his arms over his chest.
Bao snorted, ruffling his hair. “Sorry, Maknae,” she said. He looked at her out of the corner of his eye, then chuckled.
“You guys were really good,” Namjoon said, giving a nod of approval.
“Ah- T-thank you, Sunbaenim,” Hanbin bowed his head. The others soon followed, and Bao smiled at them.
“Yeah, and Unnie? You looked really hot,” Lexi winked at the rapper. Bao winked as well, scrunching up her nose. “Don’t you think she looked hot?” Lexi turned to Yoongi.
The rapper side eyed Lexi then looked at Bao. “Doesn’t she always,” he said shrugging, an uninterested look on his face.
Bao chuckled, then felt a tug on her dress. Looking over she saw Chanwoo looking at her with wide eyes, and behind him the rest of her boys were doing the same. Except for Hanbin, who was staring straight ahead, looking smug. Bao quirked a brow, hiding her smile. (Hanbin once told her that he became a proud boyfriend whenever anyone complimented her.)
“Chill,” was all she said to the boys. She spoke quietly, aware of the section of iKonics and ARMYs nearby. She didn’t need any rumors spreading.
Bobby, who was two seats down from Bao, noticed the fans too and seemed to relay the message to the others.
“Oh, Bao?” said girl looked back to see Yoongi leaning over in his seat, eyes towards the big monitor on the stage.
“Yeah?” she responded, tilting her head slightly away from him, also looking at the stage. She had to hold back an eye roll as she noticed her boys leaning towards them to listen.
“I suck at remembering this shit, so I’m telling you now. You can text me later, but we need to plan out a day for you to come to the studio,” Yoongi said. Bao snorted knowing that he’d definitely forget it. In fact this collab that he wanted to do had been in the works for months, or more like Yoongi kept on forgetting to text her about it, so it's been on hold for months.
“As if Noona would remember,” Chanwoo snickered.
Bao nodded lips pressed in a line. “This is true.”
“Then I’ll remind both of you,” Lexi spoke up. Bao turned to her smirking. She watched Lexi pat Yoongi’s knee, smiling.
“Whatever works better,” Yoongi shrugged, crossing his leg.
“Sounds good to me,” Bao smiled at the younger who gave a thumbs up, grinning.
“Not gonna lie, that would be an epic collab,” Junhoe said nodding in approval.
“Yeah?” Bao asked, turning to face him, arm resting on the back of her chair, cheek resting in her hand.
“Oh hundred percent,” Hoseok agreed from next to Lexi, grinning.
“Then it has to happen,” Bao said, clapping once. Then she turned to Hanbin. “Is that alright, Leader-nim?” she asked him, smirking.
Hanbin slowly turned his head, rolling his eyes. “Of course. Why even ask? You’d do it anyways,” he said, shaking his head. Bao grinned watching as he smirked, looking at her out of the corner of his eye.
“This is very true,”  she said, pointing at him.
“You guys better actually do this. I’ve been waiting,” Taehyung said.
“Wait. They all knew about this, but we didn’t,” Donghyuk asked, pouting.
“Once again. It never came up,” Bao shrugged.
“So what? You would have told us when we asked you the day the song dropped?” Jinhwan asked, jaw slack.
“Don’t be so dramatic,” Bao waved him off. “Yoongi hadn’t made it official yet. So why bring it up if it might not happen?” she asked as if it were obvious.
“It’s official,” Yoongi stated, monotone.
“Now it is,” Bao nodded, pointing at Yoongi while looking at Jinhwan who rolled his eyes.

The Engineer - Part 4
Genre: Engineer!AU
Pairing: Chanwoo x You (Female!Reader)
Warnings: None
Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 | Words: 2,294
Tumblr media
This was bad.
Just after you’d closed your eyes to go to sleep last night, you had realized something. Something that would probably keep you awake for at least another hour.
Chanwoo had asked you to... hang out.
Those had been his exact words. Hang out. He hadn’t asked you to go out, and he certainly hadn’t asked you to go on a date with him.
He’d said “I was wondering if... you’d wanna, like... hang out?”
And you really couldn’t be sure that he’d asked you out on a date. I mean, people typically used the term ‘hang out’ when they were spending time with friends.
So... what if Chanwoo was only interested in you as a friend? What if he already had a girlfriend? ...Or a boyfriend? Or was single but wanted a boyfriend?
I mean, you’d been around Miles and his 99.9% accurate Gaydar for so many years, you were pretty confident in your own skills of figuring out who wasn’t straight. And you hadn’t gotten any vibes from Chanwoo other than flirting ones! You’d thought he’d been flirting with you!
But... maybe not?
Maybe he had been so shy and awkward because... he was just shy and awkward around people he didn’t know, not because he was interested in you.
To be honest, you’d thought about it and over-analyzed it far too much. Sometimes -- mainly when you were doing your job -- you were glad to have such an active brain.
At times like these, you were not glad in the slightest.
You’d been able to manage four or five hours of restless sleep last night, so you were currently on your third cup of coffee -- and it wasn’t even 11 AM. This was a new personal record!
You had just taken a sip of the only thing keeping you awake when the sound of a text message arriving chirped through the air. You jumped a little, your heart starting to race even more than it already had been from all the caffeine you’d consumed.
When you reached for your phone, you saw the message you’d just received was from Chanwoo.
You took a deep breath and you clicked on the notification and opened it.
Do you like sushi?
You quickly replied back that you did, indeed, like sushi.
A few moments later, he responded with a location -- a new sushi restaurant you recognized but hadn’t gotten around to trying yet, and underneath that, he simply said Noon?
So... did he want to come pick you up at noon? Or did he want you to meet him there at noon?
For some reason you weren’t quite sure of, you didn’t want to ask. Even though it would make things so much easier, and it would make your anxiety a lot less... well... anxious.
But you still replied with Sounds good!
Chanwoo read your message immediately and began typing.
Cool. See you there!
You couldn’t stop yourself from letting out a very loud sigh of relief. You gave his message a thumbs up, put your phone back down on the coffee table, and picked your mug back up.
To be honest, you were relieved in more ways than one. You were relieved that he had settled your inner debate about whether he would pick up or if you would meet him there -- and he had also settled your inner debate about whether or not he was romantically interested in you.
He knew where you lived (though, not in a creepy way -- hopefully), and if he was taking you out on a real date, he definitely would’ve offered to come pick you up.
So. A casual friendly hangout it is!
Tumblr media
When you pulled into the parking lot of the sushi restaurant at two minutes after noon, you weren’t too worried even though you usually liked being right on time -- or even a little bit early.
Most of the guys you’d dated in the past had never been right on time -- or even a little bit early -- to anything in their lives, including your dates. It had never really bothered you if they were just a few minutes late, and you’d gotten so used to it that you just kind of assumed that Chanwoo wouldn’t be there right at noon.
Not that you were dating him, of course. Or even that this was a date! Because it sure wasn’t!
Anyway, the point is, you were more than a little surprised when you walked into the restaurant and saw Chanwoo waiting for you in the front seating area.
He stood up quickly, wringing his hands in front of him nervously and shooting you an adorably awkward smile.
“Hey,” he greeted as you approached him. “You look great.”
“Hey, thanks,” you replied, smiling back at him. And then you reached out and briefly patted his upper arm and said, “You do, too.”
...You immediately regretted doing that. You might as well have just playfully punched his arm and called him ‘Pal.’
Just exactly how lame were you?!
Apparently, Chanwoo also thought you were lame because his cheeks tinged with pink, and he murmured his thanks almost under his breath.
...Off to a great start!
You mentally kicked yourself as the hostess showed you both to the sushi bar, silently hoping the very beginning of this non-date wasn’t an omen about how the rest of it would go.
As soon as you slid onto a stool, hanging your bag up on a hook underneath the counter, Chanwoo asked you about your job. He was probably curious since you’d been home in the early afternoon, a time most working adults would be... well, at work.
You explained that you were a freelancer and got all of your work done at home -- or in a coffee shop if you needed a change of scenery.
He seemed to be more interested in your answer than most people, asking how you’d found the job, if you liked working at home, if you’d always envisioned this career path for yourself, if it had to do with what you’d gotten your degree in.
The server had come to take your drink and sushi orders as you talked, and by the time he laid your platter of food down in front of you, you felt like you’d relayed almost your whole life story to Chanwoo.
I mean, at least, your whole career story.
“What about you?” you asked in return as you broke apart your wooden chopsticks. “How did you become a --”
What was it he’d said the other day?
“A mechanical engineer,” Chanwoo supplied with a half grin.
“Right, that,” you chuckled. “What’s the story behind it?”
Chanwoo let out a soft, ponderous sigh, picking up a roll from his plate and popping it into his mouth.
“Well,” he replied as soon as he’d finished chewing. “I’ve always liked figuring out how things work. I’m actually not very good at it -- not naturally, I mean. But I like the challenge. And I’ve always been pretty good with my hands.”
“Which is why you almost you hit me with a baseball,” you interrupted with an amused grin.
“Yes,” Chanwoo chuckled, his cheeks once again tinging with pink. “My dream growing up was to be a professional ball player, but once I figured out how slim those odds really are, I decided to go for a job that’s a little more guaranteed and steady.”
“So, what did you study at university?” you asked in-between bites of your avocado roll.
An almost invisible smile tugged at Chanwoo’s lips, and you wondered why he would find your question so amusing... but then he replied with, “Mechanical Engineering.”
“Oh,” you chuckled. “I had no idea that was a -- of course. That makes a lot of sense.”
“Yeah, my friend’s uncle owns YG -- the company I work for now -- and we used to help him out during the summer in high school. Once I graduated, I knew exactly what I wanted to major in.”
The fact that he brought up high school and graduating only reminded you of when he graduated -- and how many years after you it had been. But you stuffed another sushi roll into your mouth to try and rid those thoughts from your brain.
“You like your job, then?” you asked, somewhat avoiding his gaze for now.
“I do,” he confirmed. “It keeps me busy enough, but I still have time to play baseball and video games. That’s... really all I need.”
See, hearing him say that, you knew this was destined to be just a friendship. You really weren’t into baseball or video games all that much, and you couldn’t imagine he would want a girlfriend who didn’t care about his main hobbies.
That actually made you feel a little bit better. A little more relaxed.
“Do you actually play? Like on a team or anything?”
“I have before, but there’s usually always a game, or at least a practice, on Saturdays, and I didn’t like not being able to show up sometimes,” he shrugged. “But I play with my friends a lot, and I like just going to the batting cages and hitting by myself.”
“You’re an introvert?” you asked with a small grin.
Chanwoo nodded, letting out a breathless chuckle as he started on his second row of sushi. “Yeah.”
“Me, too,” you told him. “I mean, I work at home by myself all day. I’d better be an introvert.”
Chanwoo chuckled again, though this time it was a bit louder and contained more amusement.
“I have my best friend, Miles, and his husband, Tristan, and my family, of course -- but that’s about it.”
To be honest... you hadn’t realized just how small your social circle was. Yes, you were acquaintances and casual friends with quite a few people -- your neighbors included -- but you didn’t spend actual, real quality time with anyone but who you’d just named.
So, it was actually a good thing Chanwoo was trying to be friends with you. The two of you may not have a whole lot in common, but so far, he was easy to talk to.
...Except when you saw his dimples. They’d appeared a few times during your meal already, and your heart had yet to beat normally when they did.
But other than that, you didn’t feel too awkward or nervous around him, and it seemed like he was getting more comfortable around you, too.
Everything seemed to be going swimmingly, actually.
Until... the check.
When your server brought your check, you frowned when you realized he hadn’t asked if you wanted it together or separate. Obviously, since this wasn’t a date, you’d been prepared to pay for your own meal. But since he hadn’t given you an option, you simply reached down to get your wallet out of your bag so you could at least pay for your half.
“Oh, no,” Chanwoo interrupted, already having slid his wallet out of his pocket. “I got it.”
“That’s okay, I can pay for mine.”
“No,” he repeated. “I got it.”
He got out his credit card, placing it on top of the receipt and waving down the server to come and take it before you had a chance to even open your bag.
“Oh --” you murmured as the server appeared to take the check away. “Thank you. You didn’t need to, I could’ve paid for mine.”
“I wanted to,” Chanwoo answered as he put his wallet back into his pocket -- probably a nervous gesture because he would have to get it right back out again when the server came back.
“I’ll get it next time!” you offered with a grin.
Chanwoo’s eyebrows flew up his forehead, and a smile tugged at the corners of his lips. “Yeah? You... want to go out again?”
...Oh, no.
When he’d asked you on the phone last night, he’d said ‘hang out.’
Now, he was saying ‘go out.’ And he hadn’t let you pay.
You’d spent this whole time thinking it wasn’t a date... but now you were severely questioning that thought.
So, when you answered him, you kept your tone as friendly and casual as possible. “Yeah, sure! Why not?” you chuckled. “I had a good time.”
Chanwoo pressed his lips together to suppress his smile, and he replied, “Me, too.”
You were too confused now. He was certainly acting like this had been a date... so, why had he asked you to hang out?!
But another good question was, why had you been so fixated on the fact that he’d asked you to hang out? Why were you over-analyzing every little thing about this situation? Why couldn’t you just be cool and nonchalant and see where this whole thing took the two of you?!
...This was probably why you barely had any friends.
As soon as the server brought the check back, you grabbed your purse from the hook under the counter and began to make your way to the front of the restaurant.
Now that you thought maybe Chanwoo did maybe think this was maybe a date, you were starting to get anxious about the ‘saying good-bye’ part.
What if he tried to kiss you?
Honestly, you wouldn’t hate that. But you’d been thinking this whole time that this was a friendly, casual hangout lunch! Not a date! You couldn’t just flip the switch that easily!
“Well,” you said once the two of you got outside. “Just -- just let me know when you want to hang out again.”
And then you waved and said good-bye and got your keys out and went to your car and left.
...So. Yeah.
That... ended smoothly.

Love Language
Tumblr media
A very short Junhoe/Reader fluff au (?) idk what to call it lol
Author's notes: this was made impulsively so i don't really like how it ended :( but i hope you guys still like it !! i might try writing a smut fic soon~
The days seem to pass by slower nowadays, even if Junhoe's schedule has been clear for a few weeks straight now and has been at the dorm. You're glad to see the seven of them again so often; usually, you'd have the dorm all to yourself. You would get your spare keys and see yourself in, spending the day lounging at the boys' place and cleaning up a little while you're there.
You don't know exactly when, but it was excruciatingly obvious by now. Things have changed between you and Junhoe.
He was never the type to be all too affectionate, even at the start of dating. He'd write you poems, steal kisses from you once in a blue moon when the both of you are alone, but never did he show any display of affection that is, even in the slightest, bold, regularly.
The past few months have been different though. He seems a bit colder, less caring. He doesn't spend much of his time with you, and despite his schedule being free, he hasn't even asked you to go out with him. Hell, Chanwoo even offered the two of you go to a PC room together before Junhoe even tried to arrange the smallest of plans with you, which is apparently movie night because his friends weren't down to drink tonight.
Thing is, you aren't really sure of yourself, either. You might be overthinking, you consider. The thought frustrates you further.
You unknowingly let out a sigh while you and Junhoe are watching the movie together. You were too occupied by your thoughts to even process the film in front of you.
"You okay?" Junhoe asks, without missing a beat. But his eyes are still glued to the tv screen.
"Yes, jagi, I'm fine." You say, voice giving away your fragility.
Junhoe finally takes one look at you — and then reaches for the remote to switch the tv off.
The both of you are plunged in darkness, save for the dim light that had filtered through the shoji screen separating the kitchen and the living room. He takes both of your hands. You almost forgot how your tiny hands could easily be enveloped by his.
"Hey," Junhoe begins, looking at your hands in his, "did I do something wrong?"
His question takes you aback. "No, why?"
"It's just that you haven't really been happy recently. I haven't seen you smile in a while," His voice lowers in volume, making the statement seem all the more intimate. "I thought I might've done something serious without knowing."
Your expression softens at his concern. "It's just that..." you trail off, reluctant. You see Junhoe leaning in, eager to listen, so you continue. "You haven't been spending much time with me lately, and your schedule's been free for ages. I just thought we could've spent more time together since you haven't been home in forever."
Junhoe hums inquisitively, a sudden change of mood. He lets go of your hands and leans back onto the couch, and pats the seat beside him. "Come here, jagi."
As you scoot over closer to him, he snakes his arm over your shoulder. He looks at you again before planting a quick kiss onto your forehead.
"Y/N, I'm sorry. I haven't been spending as much time with you as I'd like, too, if I'm being honest," He cooed, staring right into your soul. "Do you want to spend the entire day together tomorrow? Maybe the next few weeks, too."
You beam at his offer. "Of course," you say, leaning back and enjoying the warmth of his chest. You feel his heart thud at your movements, making you all the more charmed. You began to wonder if this man could make your knees buckle just by breathing. And honestly, he probably could.
"I promise I'll spend more time with you," he says, pulling you in closer. "This feels much better than any night out drinking, anyways."
Maybe you were overthinking things. After all, Junhoe's love language has always been conveyed through the little things. Either way, you were more than glad to spend the next few weeks with your boyfriend.

The Slaying
Word Count: 1.5K
Genre: Angst? Idk it’s a Gang AU lmao
Fandom: Seventeen, Original Characters
“Hey, hey- Look at me. It’s okay, everything’s going to be okay, just look at Daddy.”
His father’s pleading voice was the only thing registering in the boy’s ears; the chaos ensuing down the stairs falling deaf on their ears; the occasional gunshot causing him and his sister to jump. He was shaking, terrified, eyes wide as his gaze stayed trained on the sight before him.
A man had entered the room, powerful and demanding in presence, frightening. He stood impossibly tall, with a fire set ablaze in his eyes. Crass taunts left the man’s lips - foreign to the young boy’s ears but clear in their intentions thanks to his tone alone. With his father now restrained, the children were within the trained sights of the gun's barrel. Tears streamed down Minwoo’s cheeks; he understood far too much of what was happening for a boy barely past 5 years. Growing up in the ever-present dangers of gang life prepared everyone for situations like these, no matter how much his parents attempted to protect him from it. There was nothing he could do. Nothing his father could do. This was it; their finality was loaded into the barrel of a gun.
“Daddy--” his sister cried out beside him, Minwoo immediately tightening his grip on her hand. It all happened so fast…The door burst open, their mother appearing wild-eyed and panicked, autopilot carrying her full speed towards her children.
One shot - and she fell, blood pooling on the floor - his father screaming in protest and struggling in the man’s grip.
A second shot - his sister was ripped from the boy’s hold the second it sounded, crumpling to the ground.
A third shot - the boy’s hearing was nothing more than a shrill ringing, his father’s sobs and cries now deaf to him. A wet substance trickled down his cheek - and intense pain following immediately after. He wanted to cry out, but his mouth only became slack as he, too, fell to the floor.
One last shot - or, the child was sure he had heard one more. His own mind was seizing up; succumbing to the darkness that was unconsciousness.
---
Memories presented themselves as never-ending torture. Memories plagued the boy nearly every waking and sleeping moment of the boy’s life - there was no escape. Perhaps, in retrospect, it was thanks to his father’s struggle that enabled Minwoo’s survival. He was so close to death...it was a miracle in and of itself that he still lived to breathe another day.
Jaw clenching, the boy - now aged 17 - pushed himself out of his bed, feet dragging as they carried him to the bathroom. A deep sigh sounded, deft fingers working to tie the cloth he kept securely over the taught and scarred flesh on the right side of his face.
His eye was gone, a thin layer of skin now covering the bone that had been exposed. His family...was dead, but he survived. Hands shifted, resting on the edge of the sink, gripping until knuckles turned a bright white. Minwoo had learned a lot in the last 12 years.
The man’s name, his family’s killer, was Park Sejin. He worked for a powerful entity known as Leeteuk, was his right hand man...and the whole reason Sejin came that night, was due to Seungcheol. From the information that he had obtained, Leeteuk ran an orphanage. Or, that was how he presented his ‘business’. The man produced super soldiers for the government, training young boys to become blood-thirsty emotionless husks. Seungcheol was Leeteuk’s strongest; his best...and one of the only two to ever escape. Leeteuk wanted him back, and if that involved a merciless killing of innocent lives, so be it.
Minwoo’s ‘uncle’ - one of his father’s closest friends...and the leader of their family’s little gang. The size of the family was plenty - at least 18 including himself, if he remembered correctly, and he reigned the only survivor. Or, that’s what he assumed.
Pushing off the sink, he quickly turned on his heel. A look of determination etched itself onto the boy’s features as he moved to get himself ready. Gun slid comfortably in the holster on his thigh. Blade, nestled in a little sheath attached to the inside of his boot. A second gun, in the holster, strapped to his chest. Backpack pulled on over one shoulder; boots laced, leather jacket zipped.
Leaving the room, Minwoo remained quiet as ever; beginning his journey down the hall and through the headquarters to the exit.
“Min?” a curious voice rang out, calling for him. Stopping him in his tracks as he peered back over his shoulder. “Where are you going?” The concern in her voice was palpable.
It was Mina - his mom’s old friend. Minwoo had recalled hearing his mother mention The Elite several times to his father, before the night that he had lost everything. It was the ‘family’ she had come from; a clustered mix of humans and supernatural beings led by a despicable man...and it was where the boy went, that fateful night, for refuge. Things were different now, though, that the man was gone. If things were different...maybe he even would have liked it here.
Mina was, essentially, the whole reason he was safe. She took him in, raised him with the help of her boyfriend. Their medic - a friendly young male witch - healed him. Different members of The Elite attempted to befriend him, tried to talk to him, but progress was never obtained. People told him stories of his mother, Aneni, and even what they knew of his father, Mingyu. The boy only ever listened, however...but the occasional hint of a smile did sometimes grace his lips. This only ever lasted a few seconds, however. Even the good intentions of these stories proved to be only a painful and grim reminder.
Regardless of Mina’s concern, the boy stayed ever silent, prying his gaze away after a minute and returning to his own quest. She didn’t stop him; she never did. After all, he hadn’t spoken a word in 12 years.
---
12 years.
It had been 12 years since he last stepped foot in his childhood home. The simple action alone of placing his hand on the cool knob of the door caused his heart to race...but he pushed on, twisting the knob and pushing - relieved that it gave way and opened without force.
Overwhelming wasn’t quite the word for the feeling occurring at the moment. A lone eye looked over every last inch of the home that could be seen, but feet would not move. No dust...everything still perfectly in place...almost as if it was still lived in. Pictures hung neatly on the wall, the warmth from the heater licking at his skin. A house once so lively and full of life now silent, but standing as though it had secrets to tell. Brow furrowing, confusion quickly took over - lips pursing.
Steps were forced, walking into the living room and slowly dragging a single finger along the wood of a shelf. Nothing. Not a single spec of dust. Did someone else make it? No...no, everyone was home that night? The boy recalled seeing their faces: Seungkwan, and Seokmin. Minghao, Soonyoung, Wonwoo. Taeyong and Chanwoo. If they had all been home, the rest must have been too.
Everyone...except for Seungcheol. That was why Sejin chose that night, he had thought to himself. Was his father’s superior, and friend, still alive? What had he felt, seeing the slain bodies? What did he do? Where did he go?
Why hadn’t he looked for him?
Confliction reigned true in the boy’s mind: Sadness, relief, anger. Frustration. Frustration was quickly becoming the strongest.
Too much of his time was being spent thinking. Minwoo once more forced himself away. He needed to get to work; time was truly of the essence. Only 2 weeks ago, Sejin had been left a note: the address of this home, a date, and a time were all that was marked on it. Minwoo watched; hidden completely in the shadows and quiet as a dormouse, as the elder male read the scrap piece of paper.
It would have been so easy to take the man out right then and there, but it wouldn’t nearly have been satisfying enough.
Slinging his backpack onto the couch, the boy worked quickly to unzip it and pull out his supplies: tripwire, a doorstop alarm, flash grenades, and a few other miscellaneous supplies. It took only a few minutes - the boy had practiced several times in his own room (sans testing the flashbangs - his stock was limited), and he waited now around the corner.
Anxieties grew as he checked his phone. 7 minutes. There still were 7 long minutes to spare. His posture shifted from one foot to the other when suddenly an ear-piercing sound rang from the hall from the door opening. A bright flash of light emitted as the tripwire was triggered as well and Minwoo moved fast.
Around the corner he went, pulling out his blade and pouncing on the man in one swift movement, knife pushed harshly against the other’s throat.
Only, it wasn’t Sejin. The boy’s eyes widened as he quickly was shoved off with a strength that could only belong to one man, and his voice trembled as he righted himself and spoke the first word since the slaying:
“Uncle?”

Can we see some angst in the Jinae mafia au?
A cry left Jinae’s lips as he hair was pulled, being forced to look up at the male in a clean suit. She was dragged forward, pulling up from the ground so she was standing. This man was a fat little thing, rings on his too chunky fingers and sweat in his skin.
Bobby and Junhoe had been knocked out, Jinhwan and Hanbin held in place by two other body guards. The boys were confused, although thankful that Song, Chanwoo and Donghyuk had been successful in escaping when they were jumped.
“They said you were pretty but I didn’t believe them,” The fat man laughed, “Such a shame I can’t sell you off,”
Jinae stayed silent as his chubby fingers grasping her face. Hanbin started kicking, growling out threats from behind the gag in his mouth. He was silenced by a punch in the gut.
“Your brother is a very annoying man,” He nodded, clapping his hands, “And you, dealing drugs in my side of town, so it runs in the family,”
Gathering her spit, Jinae spat in the man’s face, “He’ll kill you for touching me,”
“Don’t think I’m stupid enough to hurt the sister of Kwon Jiyong!” The little Oompa Loompa yelled at her, “But your boyfriend...,”
Face dropping, Jinae looked as Hanbin was dragged away kicking and thrown into the back of a dirty old van when the doors were slammed shut. She yelled, elbowing the body guard in the gut before head butting the fat man and making a run for the van.
“Hanbin!” She almost made it, a mere inch from the door when her throat was grabbed and she was thrown onto the floor.
Coughing from the impact, Jinae found a gun in her face as the bodyguard glared down at her. The fat man had a bleeding nose, a scowl on his chubby face.
“You can send word to your brother,” He growled, “If you want your boyfriend back, he gives up half his territory,”
A gunshot rang out, Jinhwan crying out in pain as he dropped to his knees. Jinae gasped, only to be kicked in the side, pain sending through her body as the men jumped into the van, speeding off.
Jinae managed to sit up, pain shooting through her every time she breathed. She fumbled for her jacket pocket, tears in her eyes. Messily searching for the number, Jinae gasped as a person answer.
“Chaerin..,” Jinae sobbed out, “Help..,”

a/n; that summary is so bad dhjkshg but hanbin is such a cutie!
Tumblr media
Work was easy to you. There was nothing to stress about, nothing to trigger a mood swing or anything of the sort, and no loud bosses either. Since it was only punching in numbers, answering phones, presenting information and a bit of persuasion here and there, it was easy work. And of course, you liked easy work.
The people you worked with only added to the nice environment and made it a better workspace. First there was Bobby, your desk mate. He had the desk across from you which is why you coined the term ‘deskmate’. He was a goofball and only sometimes did his overly happy work mentality overwhelm you.
Next was Chanwoo. He was more on the serious side, although he still had a huge and intricate personality. He found a lot of things that were ironic to be funny, and so did you which made it really nice to be around him since you could share a laugh. He worked two desks away from Bobby.
Junhoe was someone that you wouldn’t exactly say you were close with, but he would say you to were the best of friends. He would always somehow find you as you were in the break room or just at your desk trying to work and he would distract you either by flirting or just... being weird. He was cool, but you tried to keep your distance. Thankfully, he worked across the office.
Yunhyeong was another one of the people you enjoyed being around. He was a good worker, had a good sense of humor, and he was.. kind of cute. Of course, you’d never admit your small crush, but you enjoyed glancing at him from across the office.
Jinhwan had never really been someone you were close with either, but unlike Junhoe, he would agree. You both never had a reason to talk except for when the printer wasn’t working or if you were in the same elevator. Of course, you’ve had some conversations but you didn’t talk often. He was one of the more ‘chill’ people at the office in your eyes.
Donghyuk was probably your favorite person at work. He was always cheerful but it never was too much. He knew when you were in a bad mood and when it was alright to play around with you. He sat in the desk next to yours so it was no wonder you both were practically best friends.
Lastly, Hanbin. You and Hanbin had worked together for years but you never got close enough to really know how he was. You heard about him though. He was practically the best worker at the office so the CEO would always pick him to present new ideas to the public. You hadn’t had many opportunities to talk to him though. Because of that, you couldn’t really figure out his character.
You figured that you wouldn’t ever get to actually talk to him anyways because you never crossed paths. This day wouldn’t be any different though, you were sure.
It started off as a normal day, nothing throwing you off. You arrived at the office and set your things down at your desk, getting settled to prepare for the day ahead of you. Almost immediately though, Junhoe, Chanwoo and Donghyuk were around your desk with gossip.
“Y/N, did you hear?” Junhoe started off, crouching next to your desk.
You raised an eyebrow at his hushed tone, looking around to the other two men around you, “No... I just got here. Is it something important?”
“Of course! We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t,” Donghyuk said matter-of-factly as he lightly shoved your shoulder.
You took in his words, turning towards your desk but jumping a bit when you felt Junhoe’s breath on the side of your face. “It’s about Bobby,” he whispered, slowly backing away from you.
You let out an awkward laugh, “Okay guys, this is kind of weird. Why are you all acting like this?”
Chanwoo spoke up for the group, “Bobby found his soulmate.”
Ah yes, soulmates. The one thing that almost everyone had in the world. There were some people who didn’t have them, of course, but the majority of the world was destined to be with someone.
You and the idea of soulmates was a rollercoaster ride. When you were growing up, you had always thought that finding your soulmate would be a magical experience. You were looking forward to it with every ounce of your small heart.
And then you turned 15 and got your first and last boyfriend. You adored him, and you thought he adored you too. And he did adore you... until he found his soulmate. For him, it was the words on his wrist. You could say them as often as possible but it wasn’t the same as when she said them to him, and his reaction to her words. You could play pretend but the fact of the matter was that your wrist was blank and his had his fateful sentence on it.
When he told you the news, you swore that you would never put your heart through that ever again. So, ever since then, you hadn’t been in a relationship. That was 6 years ago and you still swore off dating. At least until you found the one you were fated to be with.
So with your history with the concept of soulmates, you didn’t exactly know how to feel about being presented with this information. Sure, you were super happy for him. He found the one he was supposed to be with, of course you were happy, but you weren’t really one for office gossip like this so you really had no idea why they were telling you.
“That’s great,” you smiled, genuinely meaning your words, “It was going to happen eventually.”
“But do you know who it was though?” Junhoe questioned, finally pulling up a chair and leaning closer to you.
You leaned back a little in response, “No... who is it?”
“The CEO’s daughter,” he whispered. That got you to raise your eyebrow. Although it was his life and you had no business sticking your nose or any amount of interest into it, it did have a sort of entertaining side to it. Bobby was fated to be with the CEO’s daughter. That didn’t happen every day.
As a result, the rest of the day was filled with your coworkers teasing Bobby about his soulmate and her position in the company. You didn't join in but it was a nice distraction to hear him stammer over his words because of his love life.
"Hey, Y/N," Yunhyeong tapped your desk, gaining your attention, "Can you take this to the CEO? It's just the monthly sales numbers."
"Oh, sure," you smiled, taking the folder and getting up from your desk.
Yunhyeong flashed one of his sweet smiles at you, making your heart almost fly out of your throat. "Thank you Y/N! You're the best."
Sometimes you wondered how it would be if you were soulmates with Yunhyeong. You knew it wouldn't happen because he had a mark on his wrist and you didn't. But only once in a while would you indulge in the fantasy of having him as a soulmate.
You would share secret glances, hold hands in the elevator, and leave work together. Maybe even a few secret kisses in the break room too. You let out an audible sigh as you continued your journey to your boss's office. It kind of hurt you to know that you wouldn't be his soulmate because you let yourself create such a vivid fantasy of being with him. You could imagine going home together, making him dinner, going out to restaurants together, but it wouldn't happen. He had a different soul-mark than you.
Every time you saw Yunhyeong in a short sleeved shirt, it would remind you that you could never be his.
Running along his left arm was a single black line meant to be his soul-mark. You didn’t have a physical one though, or at least not that you knew of. Of course when you were a kid, you searched everywhere for a physical mark but you could never find it.
Since people typically had the same type of connection that their parents had, it would explain why yours wasn’t physical. Your parents bumped into each other for their first meeting. Once they touched, a shock went through their body that felt as strong as a thunderbolt but didn't hurt. As soon as they felt the sensation, they both knew they were destined to be together. Yours wouldn't be exactly the same as theirs but from their history, you were positive it wouldn't be physical.
After thinking of your soul-mark, you decided to come back to reality, deeming it pointless to keep dreaming about a future with Yunhyeong when it wouldn't happen.
And at that exact moment, the universe decided to really... mess with you.
As you started to look up, you felt a force hit you, sending you to the ground. You tried to put your hands out behind you to break your fall, and they did... but they also twisted in a way that you knew wasn't good. They didn’t feel broken though, thank goodness.
You let out a cry of pain and the person responsible for your fall crawled towards you.
"Y/N, are you okay?" A familiar voice asked, leaving you to forget about the pain for a bit.
Hanbin?
You pressed your palms to the floor to try and lift yourself up to get a good look but the pain shot through your arm and you yelped, falling back down.
"Oh god, I'm so sorry!" Hanbin spoke out, crawling closer until his face was in view. He wasn't looking at you though— or rather he was but only at your hands at your sides, "Are they okay?"
"I think so," you said with uncertainty running through your voice as you slowly tried to move them.
As gently as he could, Hanbin pulled one of your hands towards him. You felt something stir in your stomach from the way he looked at them, as if they were fragile.
But then, when your right hand was fully encased in his, you felt it.
You were sure you both felt it too because there was no way only you felt the shock run through your hand where he touched it. And it wasn't just a small shock either. It was a shock that ran from your hands all the way up to your head and mimicked a brain freeze.
You squeezed your eyes shut to try to get rid of the feeling but almost immediately after it came, it left. And that left you to the realization that you had definitely met your soulmate.
But you just touched Hanbin. That couldn’t be right… right?
You opened your eyes and was met with Hanbin’s wide ones staring back at you. “Did you feel that?” He asked, a bit panicked.
You could only nod in response as he fell back into a sitting position, still holding your hand. This was weird. This was really weird. You both had been coworkers for a few years now. How had you not figured out you were soulmates until now? Shouldn’t you have bumped into each other before?
After a few moments, you obtained your ability to speak again but the only thing that came out was, “I have to get this folder to the CEO.”
And in a rush to not lose your job, you quickly got up and scurried away from a confused Hanbin.
Tumblr media
You had gotten the folder back to the CEO and once you got back to your desk, you didn’t have any pending assignments you had to take care of so technically you had free time. The problem wasn’t with having time to talk to Hanbin though, it was what you were supposed to talk about. I mean, you had never really talked to Hanbin before you both bumped into each other so just going up to him and having a casual conversation was out of the picture since you wouldn’t know what casual was with him.
So, during the rest of the work day, you ignored the throbbing in your wrist and stayed at your desk, your eyes glued to the screen in front of you so that you weren’t tempted to look over at the man that you shared a fateful connection with.
“If you don’t take a break from the computer, your eyes can get messed up,” you heard someone say beside you. The sudden voice made you jump, which made them chuckle as you looked over your shoulder to see the culprit... which was Hanbin.
“Seriously, I don’t think you’ve looked up even once all day,” he frowned as you tried to find something to say to him.
The only thing you came up with was “I had a lot of work to do.”
“So much that you hadn’t even looked at the clock yet?” He asked with the ghost of a smirk on his face. Your brows furrowed as you turned back to your screen to look at the time.
6:07 PM. You should’ve gotten off work seven minutes ago.
“I’ll walk you to the elevator,” he offered and although you were not trying to be in an enclosed space with Hanbin for more than one minute, you couldn’t bring yourself to say ‘no thanks’.
The walk to the elevator was quiet, but you didn’t expect it to be amazing or filled with conversation. You both were just walking to the elevator after finding out you were soulmates. Not awkward at all.
As you boarded the elevator with Hanbin, you thought about all the other random strangers who found their soulmates. They would bump into each other or say the fateful words or happen to see the same soul-mark on a complete stranger and tackle them into a hug. Why couldn’t you do that with Hanbin?
Every other girl in the office would’ve jumped at the opportunity to be Hanbin’s soulmate but you were his actual soulmate yet you couldn’t even form one sentence to say to him.
... Ah. Maybe it’s because you’ve worked together for years now and never had an actual conversation.
“Y/N,” Hanbin called out, gaining your attention for probably the third time today, “Let’s go. The elevator stopped—”
“Y/N! Hanbin!” You heard Junhoe call out, momentarily making you want to roll your eyes as hard as you could. But, alas, you refrained, “We’re having a little party to congratulate Bobby and his soulmate. Everyone has to go since the CEO is going too, so come on!”
Reluctantly, you trudged behind Hanbin and made your way to your coworkers who were gathered by the door of the building waiting for you both. Once you had made it to the group, they all started to file out of the door and onto the sidewalks to the grilling restaurant up the street. The one they always went to for company dinners.
But you didn’t mind. The food was good there.
Tumblr media
The first half of the ‘party’— ‘dinner’?— was nice. You ate, you got to talk to a few of your coworkers, had some really nice conversations and got to know the people around you better. You even spoke to Hanbin a bit, although it was mostly to ask to pass certain seasonings and side dishes. But still! It counts! You went out of your way to talk to him even though he was sitting a little ways away from you!
But the second half... started to go downhill after Bobby directed a question towards you when Yunhyeong went to the restroom.
“So, Y/N, how are you dealing with your crush?” he asked in between bites as if it was the most casual thing he could ask in front of all of your coworkers.
Your heart practically stopped beating, wanting to look over at Hanbin but having to force yourself not to as if you were going against nature, “What? What crush?”
“Your crush on Yunhyeong,” he really— “We all know you like him, so you can’t deny it either.” Bobby continued to act nonchalant as though this was a normal thing to talk about. But you were freaking out.
“I don’t—” you swallowed thickly, feeling many curious eyes on you, “I don’t like him. I don’t know where you got that from but I do not like him.” The only thing you could try to do was deny the statement as much as you could. But if you thought about it— about him— you really didn’t have any feelings for him anymore. You could try to think up a few scenarios in your head where you were married or whatever but they didn’t hold the same kind of feeling that they did earlier today. Before you met your soulmate.
Bobby only sighed, finally putting down his food, “I’ve seen the way you ogle at him on your break. You totally like him!”
Bobby was bearable most of the time, but right now he wasn’t.
“I do not like him. We aren’t fated together so I can’t like him,” you responded, looking him dead in the eyes to try to get him off the subject. But he didn’t budge.
“But you haven’t found your soulmates yet. Who says you can’t have a little fun before then?” He shrugged with a smirk. At that moment, while rolling your eyes, they stopped on Hanbin, who was looking down at his food with a blank facial expression. He wasn’t eating, he was just sitting there, staring at it as though it was a void that sucked him in and he couldn’t look away.
The thing that brought him back was your next statement.
“I already found my soulmate.”
As if he was trying to break a world record of fastest head turn... or his neck, Hanbin quickly turned to look at you with wide eyes and an ‘o’ shaped mouth. You had... actually acknowledged it.
Hanbin swore he was going to have to spend a little time trying to make you warm up to him but you had acknowledged it by yourself. The situation was less than ideal but still... it made his heart skip a beat.
But you saying this made the whole table gasp. And apparently you said it right when Yunhyeong came back.
“Y/N found her soulmate? Who is it?” He asked as he pulled out his chair to sit down. You heard a few mumbles of agreement, people wanting to know who you were fated with, and you considered telling them. But you stopped.
Were you really going to reveal that Hanbin was your soulmate in front of everyone? How would they treat you both at the office? It was as if time stood still as everyone awaited your response. But just the fact that you were considering telling them was enough for him.
“Hey now,” Hanbin started, stealing the spotlight from you and practically saving your life, “She doesn’t have to tell us who she’s fated with. That’s personal.”
Junhoe groaned, “Way to ruin the fun.”
You didn’t miss the small smile Hanbin shot your way when everyone went back to their regular conversations.
Tumblr media
After the company celebration, you all slowly made your way out of the restaurant. Everyone was still buzzing from the event so they were all deep in conversation. You though? You were still thinking about the way Hanbin helped you out back at the table.
There were a few more times where he intervened when you were asked something you obviously didn’t want to answer and there were times where he asked you small questions here and there to try to get you engaged in the surrounding conversations, but you were focused on that one time. Even thinking about it still made something erupt in your heart.
You wish your little ‘crush’ wasn’t revealed but it was and you had to deal with that. But rather than ignoring you or being mad that you liked someone directly before knowing about him, he helped you out.
And he even smiled at you!
And you didn’t know if it was because you were soulmates or because you had never really paid attention to Hanbin before now but his smile really did things to your heart. One too many times had your heart fluttered during the dinner and sometimes when you caught Hanbin looking over at you, you thought that you would love to have that gaze framed and displayed on your wall. But, of course, you pushed that thought away.
Before you realized it, everyone from the celebration had made it out of the restaurant and onto the street. People were getting their rides figured out and carpooling with others, and some were even too drunk to walk straight so they had to be carried and have a taxi called for them. Meanwhile you were just looking for a clearing so you could make it to the bus.
As you looked around the sidewalk, you noticed that Hanbin was weaving through the crowd. ‘It would be nice if he was trying to get to me,’ you thought but then shook those thoughts away when you saw that Hanbin was, indeed, making his way to you.
“Y/N, you ride the bus right?” He asked when he got to you. You could only nod as he smiled, “Let’s go then. The bus should be arriving soon.”
You said your goodbyes to the rest of your team and hurriedly made your way to the bus. Sitting down at the bus stop, you shifted a little, feeling a bit awkward sitting so close to Hanbin when all you could think about was his smile and how his hands would feel linked with yours. But he didn’t seem to notice.
“Hey, Hanbin?” You called out, wanting to break the silence and also just curious. He looked over at you with raised eyebrows, motioning for you to continue, “How’d you know I rode this bus?”
“Oh, I ride this bus too. You probably didn’t notice though since I sit in the back,” he chuckled softly while you let out a small ‘oh’.
Once the bus finally came, Hanbin led the both of you onto it and into a seat towards the back. The bus started to roll ahead toward your destinations but you hadn’t found anything to talk about. It wasn’t awkward silence that engulfed you both, it was still comfortable but you just didn’t want it to be there. You wanted to talk to him.
And Hanbin wanted to talk to you too.
Truthfully, he had wanted to talk to you about a lot of things but he thought it would be weird to you. He wanted to talk to you before today too. But now that today’s events had happened, he decided that there was no better time to talk to you than now. Especially after you both had warmed up to each other as much as you had in such a short time.
“You know,” he started out, “It kind of made me sad to know that you liked Yunhyeong before.”
Your heart stopped for a second or two before you turned to face him, “Hey, I didn’t—”
“I know,” he interrupted with a laugh, “It’s in the past now anyways. But it still makes me a bit sad.” He let out a sigh, looking towards the window, “You know, I had a crush on someone before I found out too.”
“Really?” you frowned, “Then why were you sad about me having a crush?”
He took this time to turn towards you, and you noticed you both were a lot closer than you thought you were.
“Because you were my crush.”
You felt coldness rush over your face as you processed his words. While you were busy staring at Yunhyeong, Hanbin was busy staring at you. Oh my god.
Hanbin could only laugh at your reaction, continuing his ‘speech’, “I’m really glad I bumped into you today though. Out of the many people I could’ve been fated with, it just happened to be you. That makes me really happy.”
The smile on his face as he looked at you made it hard not to smile back.
“You being happy makes me really happy,” you managed to say to him, making his smile even wider.
A few moments passed as you both looked away from each other and towards the road in front of you. And after those moments passed and a mellow mood surrounded both of you, Hanbin reached for your hand slowly, locking your fingers together as you rode off into the metaphorical sunset together. When you didn’t move to unlink them, Hanbin smiled softly, looking down at where your hands met.
After a few moments of silence as you held hands, Hanbin spoke up, his voice barely in a whisper that you wouldn’t have caught if you weren’t paying attention, “I really like you.”
Maybe being soulmates with Hanbin wouldn’t be awkward at all.
When your stop came up, you started to get off the bus with Hanbin following you, not once letting go of your hand. When you were officially off the bus, you faced Hanbin with a frown, “This isn’t your stop.”
“I know,” he replied with a soft smile, “I’m walking you home.”
It felt as though your heart was a cord and Hanbin was tangling it up as if it wasn’t such an important thing. Hanbin’s gentle gaze on you made butterflies suddenly appear in your stomach and flutter around as though they had enough space to do so. You felt a smile inch its way onto your face but you tried to mask it with a frown.
“You don’t have to.”
Almost immediately after those words left your lips, Hanbin responded with, “I want to,” and suddenly you couldn’t mask your smile anymore as you turned to start walking to your apartment. Hanbin followed suit with an even wider smile than he had before because he caught the smile you were trying to hide.
As you neared your apartment, your steps started to slow down. You stopped in front of your building, turning to face him. “This is where I get off,” you sighed.
“Well then, I guess this is goodbye,” Hanbin said, adding ‘soulmate’ at the end with a teasing tone and a light smirk.
You laughed, “See you tomorrow, soulmate.”
He smiled in response, “See you tomorrow.”
And as you entered your building, the memory of your hand in Hanbin’s still fresh in your mind, a blissful smile plastered itself onto your face as you thought back onto today’s events. This day was certainly not a normal day, but you were more than okay with that.
The one thing you were certain of was that you were definitely looking forward to what tomorrow would have in store.

My Favorite Kimbap
Pairing: iKon’s Bobby x OC [Naly] Genre: idol!au, slice of life, slight fluff Word Count: 3,234 Summary: To Naly, Bobby will always be her favorite Kimbap... although to him, he wished that his girlfriend would call him by another nickname.
Warning: none except that it hasn’t been proof-read since 5 years ago so yeah...
omg, i had so much fun writing this one due to Bobby’s many nicknames. and i just love his nickname as ‘kimbap’ bwhahaha and so this is how it came to be... and because he’s one of my sister’s biases in iKon. xD but um yeah, happy reading and kthxbai, Admin Lia~
Naly just walked into her boyfriend's, Bobby, apartment that he shared with eight other guys when someone came running out calling for her once he spotted her. It was one of Bobby's roommates named Donghyuk.
"Noona, noona, help me!" Donghyuk pleaded as he ran up to Naly.
"Hmm?" She gave him a weird look. "Why?"
"Bobby hyung is being so bossy." The younger man complained as he helped her with the groceries. "He told me to do push-ups as much as I love him, get him a towel, give him water, and he even told me to give him a massage!"
Naly let out a laugh at the whole weird orders. "Really?"
"Yes. After the massage, I ran away not to listen to him anymore."
"I thought you were a nice dongsaeng?"
"I am... but Bobby hyung is just too much."
Naly let out another laugh. "Ah, you've should of seen the other day when B.I was ordering Chanwoo around, too. It was so cute and funny."
"Really? Where was I?"
"Yup... and I think you... went out for one of your dance sessions?"
"Oh... I see."
Naly then started putting the items from the bags away. "I think Nhi recorded it, I'll let her show it to you."
"OK!" Donghyuk beamed.
All of a sudden the two heard Bobby yelling for Donghyuk to come back to the room.
"I don't know how you put up with him." Donghyuk whispered. "He doesn't act like this when you're around."
"Haha, yeah... well, ohh." Naly then pulled out a yummy treat from one of the bags. "Choco pies. I need to-"
"I'll do it!" Donghyuk volunteered as he took the box out of her hand.
"Wait, you don't even know what I'm going to do with it, Donghyuk."
"Of course I do." He smiled wide at her. "It's for Ky noona."
Before Naly could respond to that, she was interrupted by Bobby's yelling. "YAH! KIM DONGHYUK-AH!!!!"
"You take care of hyung and I'll give this to my favorite noona. Bye!" Donghyuk suggested with a happy expression as he dashed off with the box of choco pies and out of the apartment giving Naly no time to reply back.
She shook her head at Donghyuk. "Favorite noona, eh?" She let out a laugh and then shook her head once more when she heard Bobby calling out for Donghyuk's name.
"Where are the rest of the boys?" She asked herself looking around and realized it was silent and empty except for Bobby's constant whining for the younger man to come back to him.
Naly left the rest of the groceries on the table and began to walk towards the room that Bobby shared with his other two roommates, Junhoe and B.I who was also known as Hanbin. She peered inside and saw Bobby rolling around on the bed while thrashing his body as he whined like a kid waiting for Donghyuk to come back.
"DONGHYUK!!"
"Yah, Kimbap!" Naly called for his attention as she stood at the doorway while giving him a judging look.
Bobby quickly turned to look over where the sound came from and fell off the bed. Naly suppressed her laughter as she saw her boyfriend struggle to get back up on to the bed.
Once Bobby composed himself he smiled sweetly at her. "Naly, baby, hey, what are you doing here?"
"Why are you being such a brat, Kimbap?" She ignored his question with another question of her own as she continued to stare at him.
"Aish." He rubbed his face in annoyance. "You hang around B.I too much."
"That's right." She smiled as she pointed at him while coming closer, but not joining him on his bed.
"Can't you call me something else, like Bobby the Pooh?"
Naly shot him a weird look, but dismissed it. "What's wrong with Kimbap?"
"It means "seaweed rice" and doesn't sound like a nice nickname from my girlfriend, y'know?"
"But I think it's cute and nice. Kimbap. Kimbap." Naly laughed and then became serious. "So, why were you bossing little Dong Dong around?"
Bobby sat up and shrugged his shoulders. "Hanbinnie, Jinhwannie, and I just wanted to mess around with the younger ones is all."
"Ah, so that explains the other day..." She then scowled at Bobby. "That's not nice."
"It was just a prank." Bobby said innocently. "No one was hurt."
"This kid."
"Hey, hey. I take offense. I'm a man."
"You sure? And you wanna be called Bobby the Pooh. You're still like a kid."
Naly laughed as Bobby pouted. "Why you gotta tease your man like that? Besides, Bobby the Pooh is cool, okay."
Naly shrugged not answering him, but continued to laugh. Bobby then rose from the bed and grabbed her arm and pulled her down onto the bed with him.
"Ahhh!" Naly let out as she was unprepared from this sudden motion. "Bobby!"
Bobby chuckled as he wrapped his arms around her and began cuddling up next to her. "You're too tense, babe. Relax."
Naly turned to look at him annoyed, but secretly she enjoyed the moment. "I wouldn't be so tense if I didn't have to buy you guys groceries and other necessities like everyday."
"Who said you needed to buy it? You don't live here."
"Hah! Like the nine of you know what to buy for your place."
"Hey! We managed pretty well."
"You guys consume nothing but chips, soda, and candy. The toilet paper runs out so fast here! You guys take a shiet like everyday or something?"
"Babe, chill." Bobby told her with a calm voice. "I don't know about the toilet paper part, but none of us really cook. That's why we always order in."
"You guys are hopeless"
"That's why I got you, my Hello Kitty."
Naly rolled her eyes at his nickname for her, despite her obvious obsession with Hello Kitty as Bobby laughed at her expression.
"Aww, is my little Hello Kitty frowning? Do I need to hug my little kitty." Bobby began to coo as he hugged her tighter and pressed her closer to him as he began wiggling on the bed.
"I'm not frowning." Naly denied as she lightly punched him in the chest. "You're so annoying."
Bobby let out a feign gasp. "Annoying? How can my girlfriend say that to her boyfriend? Rude."
"Whatever."
Bobby then began to nuzzle her neck and Naly squirmed at the ticklish skinship.
"Hehe, tickle fight!" Bobby called out as he began tickling Naly all over.
"Yah! Kimbap, stop!" Naly ordered him as she moved away from his wriggling fingers. "I'm not ticklish!"
"Then why are you running away?"
"Because I don't want to be tickled. Duh, Seaweed Rice."
Bobby just stared at his girlfriend with a stupid look. "Seriously?"
"Yeah." She simply replied as she made a move to get off the bed. "Anyways I-Ahh!"
Bobby pulled her back down onto the bed and enveloped her in his arms again while lying the both of them down.
"Again?"
"Again what? I'm not doing anything. My arms just wanted to hold you."
"Stupid."
She heard him chuckling against her ear as he pulled her closer to him. "Let's stay like this for awhile."
"I can't."
"Why?"
"I have to put away the rest of the groceries."
"That can wait later."
"The other boys are going to return and make a mess out of it all."
"So? Let them clean it. You're not their mom."
"I feel like it whenever I come over with the other girls."
"Then that's your fault."
"So not helping."
"I"m not trying to help. Hehe."
Naly rolled her eyes. "Lil bish."
"I love you, too." Bobby squeezed her tighter as he rubbed his cheek against hers. "You're so soft."
"What the?" Naly turned to glared at him. "Yah! Kim Jiwon, I'm not a stuffed animal."
He chuckled. "You're my stuffed animal, my Hello Kitty. Maybe for next Halloween, you can be Hello Kitty again but this time I'll be Dear Daniel and we'll be the cute cat couple."
"What? You're so weird. That's stupid."
"How is that stupid?"
"I'm not gonna dress up as Hello Kitty again."
"Why not?"
"I don't wear the same costume twice."
"Then how about I dress up as Pooh and you as either my Honey Pot or Piglet."
"That's even more stupid."
"You're so harsh, but I'll change your mind."
"Whatever. Anyways... I gotta go."
"No." Bobby replied as he held her tighter.
"Don't be such a kid."
"No."
"Ahh, stop being such a brat."
"No."
"C'mon."
"No."
"Bobby!"
"No."
"Kimbap!"
"No."
"Yah! Kim Jiwon!"
"No!"
"Ahh, Donghyuk's wrong. You do act like this when I'm around."
"No!"
"What the. I didn't even-"
"No!"
"Just let me-"
"No!"
"Aish, fuckin' Bobby Kim Jiwon a-k-a Kimbap!"
"No!"
"Stupid Seaweed Rice acting like a baby"
"No!"
Naly turned to hit him, but all Bobby did was giggle and wiggle around.
"You're being such a baby right now."
Bobby imitated her.
"Stop that."
He did the same thing.
"Yah."
Bobby continued.
"I'm gonna break up with you and you won't see me until never." Naly threatened him as Bobby's eyes went wide at what she said. "You wouldn't dare."
"Wanna try me?"
Bobby gave Naly a dazed look and then let her go and rolled away. His back was now facing her as he began to act like a stubborn child.
Naly rolled her eyes as she rolled over to back hug him. "You know you're quite troublesome."
He didn't respond and continued to give her the silent treatment.
"Oh well." Naly said as she released him and moved away from him. "I guess this would be good practice."
Naly got up from the bed and was about to walk off again when she heard the sheets rustle and Bobby wrapped his hand around her wrist to prevent her from leaving. "What do you mean by the 'good practice' part?" Bobby questioned her as he brought her around to face him.
Naly looked down at him while biting her bottom lip. "Um... how do I put this?"
"Are you going to break up with me?" He suddenly asked.
"Wait, what? No." Naly looked at him alarmed. "I'm not breaking up with you."
"Then what are you doing?"
"Oh, me and the other girls are going back home for two weeks."
"TWO WEEKS?!"
"You don't have to yell!"
"Oops. Sorry." Bobby smiled shyly. "When are you leaving?"
"The day after tomorrow."
"WHAT?!"
"Hey!"
"Hehe, oops, again. Sorry, babe. Why are you barely letting me know now?"
"Because it was a last minute decision."
"How can it be a last minute decision when going back home?"
Naly freed herself from his grip and walked out of his room while still explaining. "Something came up and that's why all four of us are going."
Bobby followed after her, still shock. "Wait, who's the fourth person? There's only you, Nhi, and Ky."
"Oh, Nhi's friend, Risa. You guys haven't met her yet."
"Wait, why is she going?"
"Because Risa lives towards that direction."
"That still doesn't explain anything."
"Ahh, it doesn't matter."
The two finally reached the kitchen where Naly continued to put away the things.
"Then what does matter?" Bobby asked her as he, too, helped her put away the things.
"That we'll be gone for two weeks, so you and the boys will have to fend for yourselves."
"We can take care of ourselves."
"Yeah... I notice." Naly shot him a smirk as she put away the last bit of the groceries. "You've guys have been doing so well in caring for yourselves."
"Is that an insult?"
"Oh, no." She lied with a small smile. "Anyways, we won't be here to cook, clean, and take care of you guys. You guys will be alone for the next two weeks without us."
"I'm sure we can manage."
"I kind of doubt that, but it's not really my problem."
"Tch. Wanna make a bet then?"
"A bet? Why?"
"Because it's fun to do bets."
"I couldn't care any less for bets. So it doesn't concern me."
"You're no fun."
"You got that right." She laughed while doing a gun motion at him. "Besides, what would the bet be about?"
"If the boys and I survive without you guys, then..." He trailed off with a sly look.
"Then what?"
"You'll have to buy me this huge Winnie the Pooh plush doll."
"You're serious."
"Very."
"I"m not gonna buy you a big ass toy because of a stupid bet, Bobby."
"That's heartless, Naly. Why are you being so cold-hearted?"
Naly laughed at him while patting him on the cheek gently. "I'm not, but I will admit that I'm a bish though."
"Yeah you are." Bobby agreed with a pout. "You're so mean."
Naly shot him another gun motion with a laugh and began walking towards the living room. She didn't have the chance to settle because Bobby dragged her away. "Well, since you'll be gone for two whole weeks, let's have some fun in the bedroom." He suggested with a happy tone. "Just you and me in my bed."
"What?! No way!" Naly refused him, but found herself back inside his room with the door closed this time and no chance of escaping, anyway. "Jiwon-Ahh!"
Bobby threw Naly onto his bed and he quickly followed in after her and then threw the covers over the both of them. Naly let out incoherent sentences as Bobby just laughed at the whole thing. He finally got his girlfriend to calm down once Naly realized he was messing with her as he was still laughing.
"Ahh, you're so annoying, Bobby Kim!!" Naly let out exasperatedly about the whole thing as she struggled to get out of his embrace, but he just seemed to hug her tighter. "Hehe, my Naly is so cute when she's flustered."
"Aish, whatever." Naly gave up struggling and accepted his hold on her.
"Good, let's sleep together for the next two days. Ow!"
Naly had punched him.
"What was that for?"
"You're still going on about that?"
"What? I meant actually sleeping together on the bed, sleep, sleep. Sheesh, you got a dirty mind, too, huh?" Bobby wiggled his eyebrows at her in a teasing manner.
"Shut up. Whatever."
"I really don't mind, if you wanna get it on. Owww! OK! Let's just sleep."
Naly had punched him again and she was secretly smiling inside. "Hey..."
"Hmm?"
"What if the members walk in?"
"Oh right."
Bobby then momentarily released her, rolled off the bed, ran over to the door to lock it, grabbed the computer chair and firmly set it under the doorknob to prevent whoever from turning the knob to enter the room, and re-positioned himself back onto his bed with Naly in his arms once more.
"You're totally for real?"
"I'm totally for real. Now let's go to sleep."
"Bobby it's only six. In the evening."
"Shh, just let this be a little longer."
Naly just rolled her eyes, but let her boyfriend have his moment. She snuggled closer to him and enjoyed the warmth he brought her. The moment was short-lived when the couple heard the commotion of the others entering the apartment, and Bobby's bedroom's doorknob began to rattle and the door was beginning to shake.
"Yah! Kimbap! What are you doing in there?" B.I's voice was heard behind it.
Another voice, Junhoe, was heard. "Are you alone?"
"I'm with Naly, so leave us alone!" Bobby yelled back and then Naly elbowed him not wanting the boys to think they were doing the dirty dirty. "We're not-" Bobby covered her mouth and replied instead. "If you hear any yelling and screaming, don't worry about it! We're having fun."
"Yah, hyung, I don't need to know that." Junhoe replied before immediately walking away.
"Oh really?" B.I let out amused. "It's about time. I'll tell the other kids to leave you two alone to enjoy yourself and we'll be back later when you're done. Just message us."
"Will do!" Bobby responded back. "Thanks!"
"No problem! Bring me a nice niece or nephew, noona!" B.I laughed as he hurried away before being possibly hurt by Naly as he ushered the rest of the guys out of the dorm and leaving the couple alone.
"Ow! Did you just bite me?" Bobby asked Naly as he examined the hand Naly bit
"Yeah. Who's fault is it? Yours." Naly huffed at him, annoyed that the other boys were now thinking that she and Bobby were getting it on. "You're so troublesome."
"Ahh, don't be like that." Bobby tried to calm her down. "I was just teasing."
"Well, the boys are gonna think differently."
"Then you wanna grant Hanbin's wish?"
"What?! No way!"
"I thought you wanted to have a family before you turned twenty-five?"
"I also wanted to get married before I'm twenty-five, too."
"Well, let's get it on now and then in two weeks we can get married."
"You're so unbelievable."
"Hey, you're supposed to compliment me after we done it."
"Gah! You're so annoying." Naly then gave him the silent treatment as she faced her back to him.
"Aww, babe, don't be like this. I was just teasing. Babe." Bobby slightly whined as he tried to make her face him, but she wasn't having any of that. "Naly-yah."
Bobby was successful in having Naly turned to face him again. "What, child?"
"C'mon, I was teasing. Relax a bit more. Stop being so tensed." He cooed as he tried to reason with her. "I won't get to see you for the next two weeks, let's not be mad at one another when we're apart."
"Fine." Naly agreed. "Good thing I like you."
"I thought you love me?" Bobby said as he face slightly fell. "Right?"
"That too." She smiled as she closed her eyes.
"Hey..."
"What?"
"I didn't receive my hello kiss yet."
Naly opened her eyes to shoot him an annoyed look.
"I'm kidding." He laughed while smiling at her. "Let me give you a cheering up kiss instead."
And with that, Bobby moved closer and pressed his lips against Naly's. It was brief, but it made Naly smile when Bobby pulled away. "Thanks. You're a sweet boyfriend."
"Of course. Because I have an even sweeter girlfriend." He smiled brightly at her. "Whom is my honey that I love oh so much."
"And that's why I love you, my sweet Kimbap." Naly giggled.
"I do suggest that you give me a new nickname and one that is not created by the other guys." Bobby frown. "Like I suggested earlier, Bobby the Pooh has a nice ring to it."
"Nah, I think Kimbap still suits you."
Before Bobby could complain again, Naly shut him up with a kiss that lasted longer than the previous one. She pulled away and then snuggled herself closer to him as she closed her eyes. "Forever my favorite Kimbap. My Bobby the Pooh forever."
Bobby smiled wide when he heard her use the nickname he suggested as he cuddled closer to her while pulling her towards him even closer. "Forever my favorite Hello Kitty. My sweet, sweet, honey." He pecked her on the forehead before closing his eyes.
The two fell asleep in each others embrace with sweet thoughts entering their dreamland of the other with them as well. Even if the time was close to being eight o'clock at night.

Chapter 7: Always Mine?
Somewhere between the little whines falling from Hanbin’s lips as you wiggled away from his grasp and the boy excitedly bounding back into the flagrant cloud of delectable dinner, it was decided that your official second date was happening, even if curfew just mere few hours away and the night dark, lit with naught but the stars and brilliant moon. Even now as you walked into the night, hand in hand with a bundle of bread and various condiment safely tucked in the book bag he had forcefully borrowed from Chanwoo (no doubt you’ll hear about it later tonight), everything still felt like a dream. Save for the few times he’d pull your hand up to his lips for a soft kiss, the rest of your trek toward the quidditch field was filled with tales of the past and hopes of the future. You had found out he has a little sister and by the bright smile on his lips and how his entire being seemingly lit up at your little questions about her, he adores her to the max. It was strange honestly, the soft way he spoke of her, doting over every little thing she did. You had encountered countless version of him, and still discovering new sides every day. Of course, there was captain Hanbin, ruling over his team with an iron fist. Then there was the cheeky boy, so carefree and happy, terrorizing the hallway with his friends. Most important of all, Hanbin, your boyfriend. He was always sweet, and caring but this new side, the family man, it was one you hoped one day you’ll have a chance to meet, as well as a chance to meet his sister.
“The way you speak of your sister… I’m honestly a bit scare to meet her if I have to be honest.” “How so? She’s a lovely girl. I can say with the utmost confident that you’ll like her!” Beaming with pride, Hanbin smugly declared that his sister was the best in the world and you believed him. “Well, obviously I’d like her! But I’m worry since I’d have to get her approval. Not only so, I want her to like me too! What if she doesn’t like me?” Cautiously voicing your concern, counting your luck, it wouldn’t be too far off to think his sister might actually despise you for absolutely no reason. “You’re so cute. Don’t even worry about it, she might be a bit shy at first, but I can assure you, that’s not even a real worry.” Though Hanbin couldn’t see why you were so worry, already thrilled with the thought of you and him, taking his little sister out on an outing… His favorite girls, all in one place. Once more, you found yourself climbing the steps of the grand stands encircling the lush green field where your almost first kiss had been. And although Hanbin’s intention for leading you back to this wonderful place wasn’t clear, you found yourself following along happily, not the least bit curious as to the plan he had got up his sleeves. You’ve since learned to stop questioning the wonderful ways things happen around this boy. Once safely at the highest spots, Hanbin begins pulling things out from the bag you were now sure he had to have wrangled off the cold dead fingers of Chanwoo. It wasn’t much like your friend very much to let go of the bag he had charm to have endless storage space, spoke of it very fondly the first time your trio had gone picnic together… Boastful even, of the usefulness, even once called it his greatest creation. Perhaps you won’t need to do much convincing after all for your dear friends to let Hanbin hangs around. Just as your thought of Chanwoo dissipated with the gush of sudden bone chilling wind blowing toward the lake, your attention once more on the boy that was setting up quite a spread in the time you had let yourself lost within your thoughts. Two dining sets placed neatly across from each other, in between, a few candles Hanbin had so cleverly enchanted to twinkle and float. In a blink of an eye, the plates began filling themselves with dinner, fixings and all. You stared up at the boy in awe, watching as he beamed down brightly, quite content with himself at the little smile of amazement on your lips. “Woah, this is serious. I thought we were just going munch on bread and butter but… You’ve outdone yourself, good sir!” “Anything for you, M’lady!” He quipped teasingly.
And even lost within the soft banter of your last minute second date, nothing could ever escape the eagle-eyed captain as he lingered on the small shiver running through your body. You were still very much enthralled in the twinkles of the candles he had enchanted to float about, matching so brilliantly with the stars above when a gentle tap on your shoulder stole all your attention away. There he stood, with a sheepish grin on his lips and the slightest touch of peach on his cheeks, clutching a small bundle of fabric messily folded in his hands. You were mesmerized, as you always and always will be every time you look at the dear boy, though this time just a tad of confusion mingled within “Uhm, I have something for you, and I guess now is as good of a time as any because it’s cold and all so you might need it.” As always, every time Hanbin gets nervous, it seemed as though he forgoes breathing altogether just to say all the things he needed too, all in one breath. He rapped out his thought before shyly pushing the bundle of knitted fabric, crimson and gold into your lap. “Present? Already? But I haven’t gotten you anything yet…” You tugged at the bundle until it loosely draped over your folded knees, examining with the utmost care. “It’s nothing… I hope you don’t think I’m narcissistic or anything. But, uhm, it’s my sweater! Team sweater! Seemed I’ve grown a bit too much since last year so, I thought it’d be cool if, if… I mean you don’t have to accept it. It’s silly.” He chuckled nervously before letting his hand tugged at the sleeves, completely missing the wonder spreading over your features. “Hands off, mister!” You exclaimed happily, letting the soft, albeit worn fabric brushing delicately under your fingertips. The Gryffindor insignia embroidered proudly a bit frayed, everything told you the little thing was very well loved. In some way, that made your heart swelled even further knowing he had given you something that truly meant so much to him. “Turn it around!” He urged gently, sparkles lighting his eyes when he finally realized just how fond you already were with the thing, how careful you were. As instructed, you flipped the fabric to find a large “95” etched nearly the entire back side just below the spelling of his name. “I, I hope you don’t mind that it’s a little old… It was the first official piece of uniform I got from the team and, I wore it any chance I could. I just thought it’d be cool for my girlfriend to have something of mine.” He offered up an explanation that was far too earnest for your heart to handled, stretching across the way to pull the bashful boy into a big hug. Hanbin was glad, glad that you loved his present, and glad that you couldn’t see the embarrassment bursting from every inch of his skin this very second as he morphed into a human sized tomato. “Are you sure I can have it? It’s so nice!” You mused gently, still couldn’t believe that he had given you something so meaningful. Though your action betrayed your words for the sweater already being pulled over your shoulders. “Of course!” He chuckled, as you stood up and twirled. “It’s perfect. Thank you!” You pulled the sheepish boy into a hug, feeling his warmth permeating through the layers of fabric stacking upon your body. As the cool air began to settle over your excitement, you were glad for the sweater keeping you warm, glad for Hanbin. . “I know you said you don’t care but, I feel like I have to tell you about me and Jinhwan…” Guilt was still very much drowning your heart, burning the edge of your happiness with its flame even if Hanbin insisted nothing was wrong. You watched as his eyes longing for the stars, absentmindedly munching of a small piece of bread, though the calling of warm food was mere inches away from his hand. You owed him the explanation. “Sweetie, if it still bothers you, of course I’ll listen. But know, it’s not going to change at all how I look at you.” He said, wholeheartedly believed in you and in your words. How you’ve managed to stumble upon the two most incredible guys, you didn’t know. And although Jinhwan was the one that never was, you were glad Hanbin was here for the long run. You’ve known Jinhwan for as long as you could remember… the adorable boy that lived down the road. The adorable boy you had always associated with crisp sunshine of summer and the sweetest honey the adorable chubby bees could make. Even his home, painted a bright shade of yellow, a family owned café named Le Happy only solidified further in your heart that he was the out of this world, embodiment of sunshine and starlight. He wasn’t like the other boys on the block, always picking on you, always teasing you. Jinhwan was gentle, curious mind always assured that you’ll learn something new every time your mom would stop by his family’s café on the way home from the market. As your mom and his would linger to chat, he’d tugged at your hand, pulling you along to his room to show you something new, something he had gotten or just something he had learned. As far as your heart had known then, it belonged to Kim Jinhwan… And his too, seemingly belonged to you. You went to the same elementary, though not the same class for he was a year older, Jinhwan made sure you never spent a lunch, a single break alone. You’d walk to school, hand in hand, just as you’d walk home, side by side. Homework were done together and even after school program too. You were inseparable, spending every waking hours together… And every second lost to the sandman was every second dreaming about the next time you’d see each other. The day he had received his letter was the first time ever his parents had experienced a melt down from their usually sweet son. He had insisted, no school, no magic was worth it if you weren’t by his side. He cried, denying his very existent until you had punched him. It wasn’t hard, wasn’t enough to hurt the poor boy but it was enough to shock the living daylight out of him for you’ve never been one for violent. You held him in your arms for God knows how long as you hushed away his tears. “Nani, you have to go. You’re the smartest person I know, and you’re meant to do great things. That’s why you got the letter! I’d be so mad at you if you don’t.” You repeated the sentence over and over again as he sobbed in your arms. You promised to be there every break and to write him every chance you’d get. Nothing would change, you insisted even if you knew everything had already began to change. Reluctantly, that following autumn, you sent him off to the train station knowing this year will be lonelier than all the last. Distant seemed to have only strengthened your friendship for Jinhwan didn’t let go of your hand that following summer, not even through your families’ nightly dinner together. Then that fateful night came, the night when you had showed up at his door, clutching too, a letter in your hand. You had already been crying and it didn’t stop when Jinwhan too, broke down. The next second you were engulfed in Jinhwan, and suddenly, adventuring into a whole new world didn’t seemed so terrifying any longer. Your heart drummed erratically as Jinhwan tugged you along the cobblestone path of Diagon alley, objects, creatures you’ve never before seen plastered the small busy street.  His smile was nothing short of proud as you gasped in awe at absolutely everything and anything, looking to him for all the explanations. He was there when you chose your first wand, there when you bought your first cauldron. You had opted to adopt a little black puppy (first year the school had expanded their choices of guide animal), a choice Jinhwan applauded, but very importantly, a choice his little kitty approved of. In many ways, his cat Pepper was the perfect reflection of Jinhwan, dainty yet resilient, graceful but never one to back down from a fight. It felt like a dream, even as you settled into the little compartment on the Hogwarts Express chomping down on a tiny chocolate frog that Jinhwan had nimbly caught after you had made the mistake of letting it hop away. You had naively believed that this was it, this was the life you and Jinhwan meant to have, that nothing could ever go wrong. Though your perfect dream shattered the moment you caught his eyes in the crowd donning yellow, as the Sorting Hat proudly screamed through the hall… Slytherin. You could recall still the horror etching so deeply, so painfully on his features as the entire castle grew silent. The few whispered in shock soon turned to jeers and mockery as the days gone by. Derision then came too, the physical bully from the few pureblood families still hanging on to an old, outdated belief. You endured it all, never showed your pain even if Jinhwan knew full well what happened behind his back. So, he fought them, what else could he do but to defend his best friend even if it meant turning up in the hospital wing every other day. Eventually you isolated yourself, avoiding him in the Great Hall, texts and calls went unanswered. Though he never gave up, hunted you down and made sure every break you were with him, that you knew he was still very much here whether you wanted him to or not. But you couldn’t bear it, the sight of him bloody from fights, even if he smiled through it all. Your sweet boy stained by the hatred of others, so you asked him a favor, to pretend as if nothing happened, as if you were nothing. Though he protested, Jinhwan eventually gave in when he realized Junhoe and Chanwoo made for much better bodyguard than he could ever hope to be. Eventually too he fell in love with a beautiful Hufflepuff girl. You remembered still that one night in the height of summer spent in the boiling air, swinging in silent at the park you had spent much of your childhood in. He didn’t say much, and neither did you. But you could see it, the guilt on his face for not keeping his promise, for falling for someone else. “Jinhwan, it’s okay. Honestly, I’m happy you found someone!” You found yourself sadly uttering those words over and over again as your sweet best friend silently shed tears. He knew your relationship hadn’t been the same in a long time but it wasn’t like anyone was forcing either of you to deal with it. Yet now, in the face of a potential love, life was forcing his hand, forcing him to deal with the end of the era of you and him. “Y/n, I’m so sorry. I made a promise to be with you and I-“ His words lost in the wind of a summer night, barely enough to alleviate the sweat dotting your forehead. “Nani, we were kids. I’m not going to hold something your 6 years old self had said against you” You held his hand, then held him in your arms as he sobbed out endless apologies. That very following autumn you had the honor of meeting his girlfriend, one more friend to have your back in tough times, one more friend to hold you through trials and tribulation of being a muggle born Slytherin. “In a lot of ways, I knew Jinhwan and I would never end up together like we had so naively believed as kids. But it didn’t hurt any less, you know.” You lamented the relationship that never was, the relationship that you knew changed forever the moment you had gotten placed into Slytherin… “I guess we had always thought of me and him in that small town, not this…” You let out a sigh that was the perfect mixture of amazement and fear as your eyes longed for the glows of the castle in the distant. “It’s insane, you know. One day you’re completely oblivious and the next, your destiny is decided by an old wrinkly hat.” You never thought it, you as a Slytherin. Jinhwan had bet with all his might that you were to join him, if not, then Ravenclaw. Who would’ve thought you’d be shun by the one donning the same colors. Though most felt sorry for you, pity the fate of a Slytherin muggle born, none dare stepped in to help. The few that had hands in your harassment were far too powerful physically and socially for them to be against. “I’m so sorry.” Hanbin recalled all the time he had passed by you in the hallway, not a thought to spare for who would believe that in this day and age, the once strong held disdain for muggle born amongst Slytherin was still something of reality. Thinking of it now, of how well you had masked the pain, of him being celebrated by his classmate for being a muggle born, what a world different colors could make. It hurt, unfathomable even, how foolish he was being so oblivious to your suffering. He felt helpless, even if Hanbin didn’t know you then. “Don’t be!” You sighed apologetically, for ruining the mood and for the pout tugging on Hanbin’s lips. “It all worked out in the end. I thought I lost my best friend, but I ended up with a new friend. His girlfriend, she’s lovely and perfect for him in every sense of the world.” You pondered the memories of that following Autumn, when JInhwan had excitedly bounded your way, tugging a very scare Jisoo right toward the Slytherin table. She had thought he lost his damn wit, walking up to the table filled with all the intimidation this place had got to give as if it was his second home. Yet the second you had pulled her into a hug, Lisa too waving enthusiastically at a new friend that didn’t bleed green, her heart eased. “And, I met you!” your bright word lulled out a dreamy smile that banished the last bit of sadness lingering on his features. “I hope you’ll understand that Jinhwan will always be special to me… Of course in different way than how you’re special.” As your last thought of Jinhwan was shared with your boyfriend, the future of him and Jisoo weighed heavily on your heart. You wished them all the best in the world and prayed that the days to come will be kind. “Sweetie… I’m sorry if I gave you the impression that I was mad or jealous. It wasn’t like that at all, I swear.” Letting his hand caressing away the frost harsh against your rosy cheeks, Hanbin desperate in conveying his thought. He never meant for you to understood his silent as anger nor jealousy. Though he was taken back by the intimacy between you and Jinhwan when he had first laid eyes upon the two of you, he was not once mad. “I can’t express how grateful I am, for how understanding you are.” You leaned further into his touch, elation, deeper understanding of each other drawing your heart and his so much closer together. If someone had told you just a few days ago that by this weekend end, you’d be having dinner… No, on a date with Kim Hanbin, you’d told them they need to get their head check. Yet now, munching away at the dinner he had so carefully packed, listening as he animatedly explained Gryffindor’s strategy, you couldn’t imagine being with anyone else, spending your weekend any other ways. Your sweet, innocent boy hadn’t at all realized why you had been giggling at his seemingly secret game plan… Questioning perhaps someone had spiked your food because why else would quidditch moves and technical jargons would be so funny. Wasn’t until you had gently reminded him that your own best friend was indeed the Slytherin captain and you were, through and through despite everything, bleed green and silver that he had frozen in his spot. The smile on his lips melted away quick as he suddenly grew red in embarrassment. You assured him, that the plan he had so meticulously poured his heart and soul into creating would never be spill from your lips. Even so, if you really wanted to, you couldn’t for not much of what was said made a lick of sense to you anyways. Though perhaps Hanbin was more shocked, mortified that he had so easily given up the plan he swore he’d guard with his life. “Speaking of top secret quidditch game plan…” His words drawn out, the spoon of pudding he had scooped up pushed about as his cheeks once more redden with bashfulness, teasing at your curiosity. “Will you come see me next weekend?” You could feel it, that sudden shift in your heart as the delightfulness of the heartwarming date slowly sinking to the pit of your stomach. You stayed silent, watching the sheepish grin still plastered across his lips, no doubt happy from the thought of you admiring him from the stand. “I’d be so happy to look into the crowd and see you…” He rushed out when nearly a minute pass and no answer was voiced, hope still very much coloring the universe behind his beautiful eyes. But you said nothing, staying silent as you let your gaze fallen over the spread of dinner that had now nearly been finished. “Baby, you okay?” Gentle finger nudged at your cheeks, he had thought the frosty wind had stolen his girlfriend’s soul when he pierced into your eyes and all he saw was sadness. “I- I don’t know, Hanbin…” Your voice cut out as your brain went into overdrive calculating very carefully the next few words. You knew how much quidditch meant for your dear boy, and you knew nothing would make him happier than to have his very first girlfriend cheers him on at every game. But you knew also what you were, what you bring, and it wasn’t something you wanted for Hanbin. “It’s okay, Y/n. You don’t have to wear my sweater or cheer for me. I just wanted you to watch me play, just knowing you’re there is already enough for me.” Busying gathering and sending back the dirty dishes to the kitchen with a wave of his wand, Hanbin explained, knowing it must be hard for you being caught in between your best friend and your boyfriend. But just thinking of you sitting in the crowd, excitement coursing through your veins as you look on with all the adoration you have for him sparkling in your eyes, it sent him to heaven just thinking about it. Even if it meant you’d be sitting in the ocean of green and silver, even if you could only silently cheer him on. Though as observant as he was, he missed sorely the emotion wrecking your heart. “It, it’s not that… Lisa told me countless time to cheer for you, knowing how big of a crush I have on you.” Though the reason behind your rejection was still burning his mind, hearing how supportive your friends were toward him, Hanbin was happy. “I just, don’t think it’s a good idea, me being at the game.” There was no good way of turning down your puppy of a boyfriend. No matter what you say, no matter what you do, it could never make up for the way shock ripped through his features. “W-Why? Did I say or do something…?” No word could express the confusion running through his mind. Just a second ago, you were eagerly listened on as he rambled about quidditch, even if you didn’t understand much of it. Just before that, well he had brought on the plan for a small trip during winter break, a trip to commemorate the new friendship that had brought everyone together. You had so enthusiastically nodding along, excitedly adding to the plans and all the muggle things you’d want for your friends to enjoy. Yet now, the way you were staring at him, all the guilt eating away at your soul as if you had just done something unspeakable… Hanbin didn’t understand it. “I’m sorry. I want to, I do, you have to believe me. I just don’t think it’s a good idea for me to be there.” Head hanging low, you mewled out sadly. How could you even begin to express the emotions rising in your chest, the thoughts, the reasons why you couldn’t be there for him. You had reached for his hand, balling up in his lap but your nerve gave out at the very last second. “It’s okay.” The sigh leaving his lips was nothing short of agonizing, even if that smile on his lips, bright as he stared off into the heaven above. Quidditch was the one thing he could be prideful of, knowing that he was better than most, the thing he could impress you with. He knew you had your reasons, but that didn’t help the disappointment drowning his heart as he glanced over the empty, dark field. “I’m so sorry…” You had started, tears brimming your lashes now, but he cut you off with a hug. A soft kiss placed upon your cheek as he whispered over and over again that it was okay.   “Hanbin…” You called for him, meek and sorrowful but he didn’t let go, only tightening his hold around your body.   “Don’t worry about it! Let’s head back, hmm? It’s getting late.” You hated it, hated that a perfect night was ruined from your own doing. You hated the way his eyes seemed so dim, almost as if you had broken the stars lighting those beautiful orbs. You knew he was trying his best, to hide the fact that your rejection had affected him far more than it should’ve. But you knew better, you knew it would hurt him but what else could you do? You needed to stay out of his way, stay far away from the game and you hoped one day, Hanbin will understand why. For now, for now all you could do is to clutch tightly on the large hand holding yours, and hoping that he’ll let you sooth the sorrow grinding at his heart. The walk back toward the Slytherin’s dungeon felt much like an eternity for the delightful conversation that had colored the beginning of your date absent. Hanbin refused to let go of your hand even if he did not once look back, silently moving forward as he processed the entire situation. It was only when the entrance that had become so familiar in his eyes once more greeted you both that he had turned around to look at you, sorrow in his heart only grew knowing it was time to part ways. “Go in, baby. It’s getting really late.” He nudged you forward, whispering solemnly, yet you refused to budge. You couldn’t leave, not like this, not when he was so down on himself. So you dove into the arms that tighten around your body out of sheer instinct. Yours too woven around his body and you dug your face into his tone chest, feeling the aching of your heart dissipating slowly as his hug only constricted further. Hanbin let his fingers carding through your hair, gentle kisses fluttering against it and he took in that all too familiar, comforting scent you always wore. He parted way, ready to send you off into the hand of the sandman but you only reeled him back in. Tiptoed, you did your best to plant a kiss on his lips. A desperate kiss, lingering, stilling as you basked in the softness of his lips, studied, committed to memories each curve, each wrinkle. You didn’t let go, didn’t let go until your own legs gave out as you stumbled backward but this time, Hanbin got you. He tugged you back into his chest, bending awkwardly to continue the kiss you had so sweetly given him… Though the one he returned was anything but. It wasn’t innocent, it wasn’t desperately sweet either as he guided you toward the stone wall. He pressed you tightly against the hard surface, hand cushioning the back of your head to be sure he wasn’t hurt you. This was far different from the shy first kiss you had shared, or the hundreds chaste one to follow. It was heavy and it was crass. Teeth knocking and gentle nibble that breaching the territory of pain were given to which you readily received. He loved the way your breath grew heavy, cashing his touch, relenting to every move had made. Sweetness of the pudding leftover from dinner mingling so perfectly with the bitterness of the tea left him craving more. So Hanbin tested the water, a brisk swipe of his tongue against your lower lip left him smirking when you readily greeted it with your own, lips parting to welcome him in. Hanbin felt like he could swallow you up this very second, still so insatiable even when you had just tugged his lower lips in between yours. Soft nips nearly sending him to heaven before you pulled away, pupils blown and rough breaths rushing through your teeth. Hanbin was wholeheartedly satisfied with the sight before him, the way he left you so breathless. He hadn’t known that a kiss could be so amazing, could riled his heart so but staring at you now… Cheeks redden, and lips swollen, fingers gripping so tightly unto his sweater, he was truly happy. Everything had been so unexpected, so unexpected that it left him spinning, wanting more. Though the chime of the large clock had called for him to hurry, calling for reality to return as he grew bashful, finally realizing what was happening. He could barely look you in the eyes as he whispered one last goodnight, hasty as the distant murmurs grew loud. Hanbin sighed, still yet ready to part way but not wanting to cause a scene, especially right in front of the Slytherin’s dungeon. So, he kissed you once more, on your lips, on your nose, and on your forehead before shooing you through the gateway before rushing off toward his own room.
The entire way back, he couldn’t help but relished in the sweet taste of your lips and how a single hug from him seemingly banished the sadness lingering in your eyes. He was so fucked, whipped in every which way possible for you and honestly, he couldn’t care any longer that you can’t come to watch him play. Hanbin was certain, so certain that after the whistle concluded the game had long been blown, you’d be right there celebrating his victory or soothing his lost in the privacy of your own world. And perhaps that would be so much better for you could love him uninhibited, without the prying eyes of the crowd and that was so much better than anything else. No matter what, it’d just be you and him, and that was all that matter. He couldn’t stop smiling, even as he laid his weary self onto his bed, even after Jiwon had forcefully shutting off the light, quoting that in-love Hanbin was far too creepy and insufferable for his liking. The thought of you so desperately clinging onto him, letting him kiss you, how willing you were and the implication of what that kiss might be in the far distant future left him elated. Even now, as the bit of guilt rising in his chest knowing just how sad he might’ve made you, reacting the way he did when he knew for all the action you take, there always is a reason. He thought of your little pout, and of the feeling stirring in your heart when he had so carelessly pushing you away, the feeling that had pushed you into that kiss. And no matter how happy he was that you kissed him, Hanbin was devastated that it was fueled by desperation. How could he have been so insensitive, right after you had poured your heart out to him, letting him in on something so personal. So, before drowsiness could take over, he pulled out his phone, hoping you were still awake.
Tumblr media
Though no replied was heard, Hanbin was glad still. Glad that he got two amazing dates with you in a single day, glad that you were no longer so shy around him, glad that he finally have someone to love. As he drifted off into dreamland, Hanbin prayed that you’ll be with him for a long while, prayed that no matter what lied ahead, you’ll let him be there for you always...

iKON Reaction to Someone Getting Too Close to Their S/O When She Is Pregnant {Mafia Leader AU}
anonymous asked:
Hi~ I'd like to request an iKON reaction where they are mafia leaders and are devoted to their s/o and see someone getting too close to her while she's pregnant. Loooove your blog~
I am sorry it took me such a long time to finish this, but it’s finally here! I wasn’t entirely sure what you (the anon) meant by close, so I interpreted it as physically close. I hope you like it~
Warning: contains elements of violence or abuse
Kim Jinhwan
Tumblr media
Jinhwan is usually calm and trusting when you are with other men because he knows that you would always excuse yourself if they got too flirty. Especially since your growing belly started to become more obvious, he was cool with you meeting other people on your own - after all, everybody would see that you were his and only his woman. Therefore, he had agreed to the meeting between you and your high school friend who once had a crush on you. However, the cautious person he is, Jinhwan decided to secretly follow you and your high school friend, just for a few minutes until he could be sure that you really were fine on your own. And your husband was glad he did: the other guy soon put and arm around your shoulder and whispered something into your ear so intimately that passersby could easily mistake him for your boyfriend. With an angry snort, Jinhwan would close the distance between him and the other man, forcefully yanking the guy’s arm away from your shoulder. No matter if there were many people around or not, your husband would pin the guy to the wall of the building right next to you and warn your friend with a dangerously low voice: “Who do you think you are, touching my wife like that? Do you know who you are messing with? If you hold your life dearly, then you better stay away from Y/N.” Once he sees the fear in the other man’s eyes, he would smirk triumphantly and walk over to you nonchalantly. Jinhwan would simply ignore the stares of any curious onlookers and walk away with you, pretending that nothing at all had happened. Song Yunhyeong
Tumblr media
The two of you had been at a private party, celebrating your husband’s success of making his gang the most powerful and most influential in the area, and of course alcohol was flowing freely all night. Although you stayed away from the alluring liquor because of your slowly growing belly, it did not mean that other guests did the same. The booze had raised the confidence level of one particular guy who could not stop taking his eyes off of you. Yunhyeong had been watching the two of you for a while, trying to keep calm and not overreact at the stranger’s overflowing attention for you. However, when the man reached forward and put one hand on your hip as if inviting you to dance with him, your husband decided that he had had enough and that it was time to do something against the annoying disturber. Not taking his eyes off of you for even one second, Yunhyeong would snap his finger once and watch with relish how two bodyguards came over and removed the man from his field of view. When you turn towards your husband with a questioning frown on your face, he would walk over to you, pull you close against his chest and whisper: “Don’t look at me like that, baby, you know exactly that I can’t stand when other men look at you that way… it makes me feel disgusted and I was close to personally do something to him. Of course I know you would not have liked, but at least I won’t have to ever see him again." Kim Jiwon (Bobby)
Tumblr media
It was true that he had told you that he liked seeing you in the red dress he had bought for you a few weeks earlier, and it was also true that the tight piece of cloth around your growing belly made you even sexier in his eyes. But Jiwon did not anticipate that other men would think the same and be so bold as to approach you although it was clear that you were pregnant. You and your husband were at the party he had organized to celebrate his last successful operation, and Bobby had been watching one of the guests flirting with you for the last few minutes. But now that the guy was touching your wrist after telling a joke and laughing together with you intimately, Jiwon had had enough of watching the scene and decided to take matters in his own hands. He quickly made his way over to you and the other obnoxious man and grabbed the guy's arm roughly. Jiwon would drag him to an empty hallway and throw him against the wall, a death glare in his eyes. Your husband would then pull a small knife out of his pocket and threateningly let it glide over the men's throat. His voice only a hiss, he would whisper: "If you don't take your dirty hands off my wife, these hands of yours will never touch anyone ever again. Understood?" Jiwon would not even bother to wait for the guy's reply and walk away casually. Once he is with you again, he would put an arm around your waist, lower his head and whisper: "I am warning you, don't you dare laugh with another man like this again or otherwise I'll make you scream my name and forget about any other male human being tonight." Kim Hanbin (B.I)
Tumblr media
Since he has a younger sister, he has always been a little protective and your relationship is no exception. He had hoped that once your were pregnant and people would recognize your slowly growing belly, other men would finally stop flirting with you. But, of course he was wrong - after all, you were the most beautiful woman in town. Therefore, it was no surprise that something inside of Hanbin snapped when he saw the bartender giving you a flirtatious wink and leaning dangerously close towards you. Your husband had only gone to the bathroom for a few minutes, and already you were involved in a conversation with another man. Hanbin, very annoyed at this point, would walk over to you and sit down in the chair next to you. He would put an arm around your waist immediately, signaling the bartender that you were his and only his woman. To make sure that the guy understood that Hanbin was serious, your husband would casually pull a small gun out of his jacket, throw it in the air once and put it back inside his pocket, all the while smiling and talking to you, pretending to ignore the annoying guy on the other side of the bar. Kim Donghyuk
Tumblr media
Although he is usually extremely polite and gentle towards you and his other gang members, his temper completely changes when something or someone truly upsets him. The two of you, as well as a few other members of his group, were in the headquarters of his organization, planning their next operation. Donghyuk would never approve a plan without your invaluable input, and tonight was no exception. However, he had noticed one of his members throwing you flirtatious looks throughout the meeting, and his rage built up even more when that same guy went over to you after the gathering and sat down next to you casually. Donghyuk completely lost his temper when the other man put an arm around your waist and pulled you towards him, so close that your faces were almost touching. Although Donghyuk had told his gang members to treat you like family, he was not okay with someone being so close to you, especially since you were pregnant, your growing belly being the proof that you belonged to Donghyuk. Your husband would furiously walk over to his team member, yank him up into a standing position and land a well-aimed blow on the man’s face. With an angry look on his face, Donghyuk would hiss: “How dare you touch her like this when I am present in the same room? I told you to treat her like your sister, but you just crossed the line… If you want to see the sun rise tomorrow, I advise you to fuck off and never show your face here ever again."
Koo Junhoe (Ju-ne)
Tumblr media
Since you had always had an independent personality, Junhoe had always been a little suspicious of other men who were trying to get your attention. He gave you your freedom and allowed you to meet whomever you wanted, but especially now that you were expecting his, your, child, he could not help being a little extra protective about you. He was looking outside the window of your shared apartment, waiting for you to come back from meeting your friend, when he saw you arrive in a big, black car. His face froze and a dark expression settled on it when he realized that the driver sitting next to you was male. Your husband could follow your every movement from his spot at the apartment window, and his anger only rose when he saw the man resting his hand on your thigh while smiling at you widely. A sudden wave of jealously shot through Juhoe's veins, and he waived his bodyguards closer. Without taking his eyes off of the guy in the car, he growled: "Remove this... scum from my field of vision and make sure he will stay away from Y/N forever. If the guy does not comply, don't hesitate to use force." When his bodyguards had almost left the room, your husband would add: "Oh, right, and don't let Y/N know about this. I just want her to be safe, but she does not need to know everything I do for her safety." Jung Chanwoo
Tumblr media
Chanwoo had always liked how you offered to talk to business partners and the leaders of other gangs during important meetings since your presence and female charm often meant the successful concluding of contracts and other agreements. However, things had changed when your husband had found out that you were pregnant and his baby was growing in your belly. Although he had told you to rest and leave the talking to him, you had insisted that you were fine and wanted to help at this important gathering with one of Chanwoo's greater rival gangs. But when your husband saw the gang leader throwing thirsty looks in your direction and you even followed the guy’s invitation to sit down next him, rage started to burn inside of Chanwoo and he no longer cared about the outcome of the meeting. Chanwoo would walk right over to the rival leader and point a gun at the other man’s head. His eyes would glow with jealousy and anger, and only through intervening in the heated situation and countless apologies could you prevent a major conflict, but Chanwoo and the other gang leader would be enemies for the rest of their lives.

The Boyfriend and the Bestfriend
Tumblr media
Genre: Angst-ish, College AU
Characters: Park Jinyoung x Reader x Kim Hanbin; Kim Jisoo, and appearances by many more
Warning/s: Slight cussing
Summary: Your friendship with your guy best friend goes awry when you introduce your new boyfriend to him.
A/N: My friend Hannah sent this request (HAHAHAHA) so I’ll tweak it and just use the second person’s point of view, as per usual. Enjoy, you guys!
You guys find out as you read whether who’s the boyfriend or who’s the bff. (I’m evil)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jinyoung was never fond of you having a boyfriend. He met you when you were in your freshman year of college, and he was in his senior year already. Because you are Jaebum’s younger cousin, Jinyoung cannot help but feel protective over you, and even more than Jaebum actually is.
The problem is, you’ve always wanted Jinyoung to be something more.
It killed you (you are overdramatic, no questions) when you found out Jinyoung went with someone during your coming of age party, and to make matters worse, he wasn’t there for you, but he was so focused to the beautiful companion of his, he barely looked at you in your pristine pastel dress.
But you can’t blame him either. She just looked that beautiful, maybe more than you who is supposed to be the center of attention.
“Bin, this is Jaebum oppa,” the guy looks shitless scared about meeting Jaebum, but it actually is going well with your cousin.
“Nice to meet you, dude,” Jaebum shakes his hand.
“And this is Jinyoung oppa,” you point to Jinyoung, who does not hide his displease over the presence of the guy who is holding your hand so tight. “This is Hanbin, my boyfriend.”
You can see the confusion meeting in Jinyoung’s eyes. You do not know how to decipher his disagreement over the guys you date. You had some in the past, and they never lasted long because of Jinyoung’s unnecessary and unwelcome intervention. You have argued with him a lot over it, but then again, none were too serious for you to lash out for.
But Hanbin is different from all the guys you have ever been with.
The first time you met Kim Hanbin was when he bumped into you in the hallways of the university as he was holding stacks of paper that could have almost flew around if it wasn’t for his quick reflex. You, though, hit the ground quite painfully.
“Ouch,” you try to stand up, but your bum is stinging from its impact on the marble-floored ground.
“I’m so sorry!” He rambles his apologies as he places the papers on the side and aids you. “Let me help you up!”
You’ve heard about the Kim Hanbin before, and you did not expect him to lose his cool over accidentally hurting you. Everyone’s impression about him was always about being charismatic and cold. The guy who is helping you up is not any of what was told he was.
“Does it still hurt? I can bring you to the clinic if it does.” He worries and fidgets as he waits for your answer.
“I’m fine, Hanbin-ssi! You do not have to worry about me. You must be late, that’s why you’re in a hurry, right?”
“Yes, Y/N-ssi, but—” Hanbin suddenly stops his words. “How did you know my name?”
“And how did you know mine?” You raise a brow and cross your arms as you question him.
“Touché.” He points. “You’re Jaebum hyung’s cousin, right? He’s proud of your sculpting skills. Said you sculpted his cat perfectly using a bar of Dove.”
“He flatters me too much.” You snort. “And I know you because you’re the talk of the town,” you roll your eyes as you closely remember the squealing of your friends over Hanbin’s performance with his bandmates a week ago in the university’s charity concert.
“No I’m not,” he blushes over the compliment that you lowkey gave.
“Aren’t you late?” You chime, looking back at the papers he was carrying before he helped you out.
“Shoot!” He takes them in his arms in a hurry. “I’ll make it up to you later, Y/N! See you!”
And he did make it up to you over convenience store ice cream and a cup of Shin ramen. You do not complain, because you are both college students who are broke and busy and would opt instant food than cooking and eating at a lavish restaurant.
But slowly, your convenience store trips turn to coffee shop study dates as he writes his music and you do your drawings. Every single time he writes, his eyebrows are always meeting in between, and your hand automatically etches his distinct feature on your sketch pad.
And then it turns to you going to their band practice after classes, with the youngest ones Junhoe and Chanwoo curious about how Hanbin managed to ask you to spend a lot of time with him.
“I like Hanbin,”
And that is your first confession, which you totally never planned, but something you’ve always wanted to say. You watch the other six boys giving Hanbin a mischievous smile, and his lips curl upwards in a boyish grin you’ve drawn maybe once or twice already.
“And I like you too, Y/N.”
So here you are at the present, introducing the man you’re in a relationship with to two of who you consider as your older brothers.
After Jaebum and Jaebum shook Hanbin’s hand, the two of you go on your own way, as the best friends head somewhere else. Bambam’s party is already on full blast, and you can sense that Hanbin is not inclined with it. He only felt comfortable enough moving around after meeting Bobby and finding a topic to talk about.
You find Jaebum craning his neck over the crowd of people, looking for someone else.
“Have you seen Jinyoung?” You only realize his absence when you also find his girlfriend, Kim Jisoo, looking everywhere for him. She cannot even focus on her friend Jennie’s stories as she looks way too worried for her boyfriend’s whereabouts. She exchanges a look with you, and you nod at her in assurance.
“I’ll go look for him.” You tell Hanbin, not wanting to worry him as well. You pass through tangling bodies and flirting people, finding your way outside to where you are sure Jinyoung will be. He has always hated the noise and the crowd.
You find Jinyoung on the swing on the backyard of Bambam’s house, staring at his black sneakers.
“What’s up with you?” You sit on the vacant swing next to him.
He only hums, probably debating whether he wants to tell you or to shut up, which he rarely ever does.
“You’re serious about Kim Hanbin?” He lowly mutters, as if he’s disgusted over the words.
“I always was,” you tort, glaring at Jinyoung.
“You were never serious about dating guys, so what makes him so different?” He spats at you, and you can feel the venom lacing his words.
“Because I like him!” You stand up, already over the attitude he is showing you. “What is wrong with you, Park Jinyoung?!”
“I can’t believe you never knew that I liked you, Y/N!” He exclaims in frustration. “While you were going out with other guys, I always wanted to be the one to be with you, but then again, you were blind.”
After that was silence, and only the sound surrounding from inside the house can be heard as you wait for each other to say something.
“I liked you too, oppa,” you murmur. “But none of that matters now. I love Hanbin and you have—”
You halt your words when you find a tear-stricken Kim Jisoo behind the swing, and she probably heard more than what she is supposed to. “Unnie.”
Jinyoung whips his head to where your eyes are looking at in fear and anxiety, and when he finds his girlfriend looking like a kicked puppy.
“Jisoo, wait!” Before he can get to her, she has already ran away like a cheetah, not giving Jinyoung any room for explanation.
But then again, she must have been hurt over Jinyoung’s revelation.
“I love Jisoo now, and I just wanted to tell you,” Jinyoung completes his confession. You purse your lips and nod, acknowledging it.
And he rushes after her, forgetting you, and you are completely alright with it.
“Jisoo, stop running!” Jinyoung almost catches the attention of the entire party’s populace.
“Jisoo unnie, where are you going?” Jennie panics as she watches her friend take her bag and bolt out of the house. Everyone around them are watching, but soon they forget as they drown back to their drinking and the blaring music.
“What is happening?” Hanbin looks lost, and when you come back and wrap your arms around his waist, he is steered clear of his worry.
“Jinyoung oppa just fucked up, don’t worry,” you kiss Hanbin’s cheek and bury your face on the crane of his neck.
Meanwhile, Jinyoung is still trying to catch Jisoo in the quiet street at midnight.
“Jisoo, please listen to me!”
“I’ve heard enough, Jinyoung!” It always breaks his heart to hear her sobs, and even if he promised to never be the cause of it, he had done it.
“No, please listen to me, baby, please,” Jinyoung never lowers his pride down, but Jisoo is one of his weaknesses. It used to be you, but now, she is the one Jinyoung gets up everyday for.
When Jisoo finally stops and turns around to listen, Jinyoung takes this as an opportunity to run to her and envelope her in a tight hug.
He lets her break down in his chest, not minding the streaks his polo will probably have later.
“Please don’t cry, baby,” Jinyoung’s voice breaks, and when Jisoo pulls away and faces him, his heart breaks.
“Do you love Y/N?” She asks, wanting to hear the absolute truth from Jinyoung himself.
“I do, Jisoo, as my younger sister,” Jinyoung clears. “I used to like her before, but when I met you, I suddenly forgot about her. Suddenly, there is only you.”
Jisoo presses her eyes close, but more tears come out.
“You’re making me cry with your cheesiness, Jinyoung,” she cries out, but not because of pain this time. Jinyoung only chuckles and hugs her close to his chest once again.
“I’ll be cringy cheesy if it means you won’t be sad ever again, baby.”
“So, on a scale of one to ten, how much do you like me?” You and Hanbin rarely talk about feelings out of the blue, and it is always in a place where there’s only the two of you. Now, there are the only two of you sober, since Jinyoung had already fled away with Jisoo somewhere else and many have gone home. The others’ sobriety are already taken away by the alcohol they inhaled hours ago.
“Hmm…” Hanbin pretends to think. “Maybe a twelve, because I don’t just like you. I love you.”
And you go redder, even if your cheeks are already crimson from the beer you were given earlier.
“You guys are disgusting,” Jaebum slurs as he plops himself on the floor’s carpet.
“Why am I single?” Your cousin complains before falling into a deep slumber, and you only chuckle because it took you a while as well before you found him.
You couldn’t be more happy.

Lucked Out
iKON Extra Member AU
Summary: It’s been a few months since Hanbin’s departure, and Bao is still trying to cope.
A/N: There may be other posts that will look into how Bao deals with this, but I’m not certain yet. Hope you enjoy it!
Requests are open! Feedback is greatly appreciated.
Tumblr media
A knock came from Bao’s door, and the girl groaned at the sound. She knew it was one of the boys trying to get her out of bed. It may or may not had been a few days since she’s left her room. She of course had left to shower and eat, but with both things it had been Junhoe who got her out of bed, throwing her over his shoulder.
It had been months since Hanbin left the group, but it was only now that the whole situation had set in for her. It was safe to say that Bao was not taking it well.
Luckily for them, the company had decided to have them take a break until things cooled down a bit. So for Bao, that meant, not leaving her room, until she was dragged out.
“Bao, come on,” came Jinhwan’s exasperated voice.
“Hyung,” Bobby warned. The door opened slowly, the light of the hallway making its way into her dark room. Bao groaned again, covering her face up with her blankets.
“Noona?” Chanwoo walked into her room, and over to her bed. She could feel him hovering by her head. Five more sets of footsteps entered the room, and Bao grumbled at the thought of a possible intervention.
The sound of her curtains being drawn, made her curl in on herself. Then her blankets were pulled off her, and Bao growled (Literally growled) when the chilled air hit her skin, seeing as she was just in her sports bar and boxer shorts.
“When do you even buy these?” Donghyuk tugged on the shorts.
“Online or even in person. Last time I had bought a packet of them while I shopped with Bobby,” Bao answered as if it were common knowledge. Bobby nodded his head in agreement to her answer.
“She says that they’re more comfortable to sleep in than shorts and her regular underwear,” Bobby added.
“I don’t get why girls don’t wear them more often,” Bao mumbled, hiding her face in her pillow.
“No, stop that. You need to get up. You need sunlight,” Yunhyeong pulled her away from her pillow. Bao glared at him.
“Yeah, come on. Your tan’s leaving,” Jinhwan added, poking at her arms.
“The stylist says that I’m too tan. So they’re probably happy that I’m losing it,” Bao answered, crossing her arms over her chest.
“Bullshit. Since when do you care about what the stylists say about your looks?” Bobby asked, quirking a pierced brow.
“I never said I did,” Bao kicked him off the bed.
“No you didn’t. You’re just being difficult,” Yunhyeong huffed, and Bao stuck her tongue out at him.
“Come on, Bao. Let’s go out for a walk. Maybe that hiking trail you keep trying to get us to go on with you,” Donghyuk suggested, pulling her by her arm, bringing her to an upright position.
“It’s an easy trail, right? I can’t climb mountains like you do,” Yunhyeong shook his head, praying that it was an easy trail.
“Whimp,” Bao stated, nudging his thigh with her foot. He turned to her, smiling sheepishly.
“So, how about it?” Junhoe asked, looking at Bao with a straight face, but she could tell that he was silently begging her to get out of bed and be an active member of society.
“I don’t know,” Bao shrugged. She loved the fact that the guys wanted to go hiking with her, but normally hiking was something that she did with Hanbin, so going without him felt wrong. But she also knew that she couldn’t stop doing something she loved just because he left the group. Bao also planned to sneak out as much as she could to see Hanbin (Once she got the courage, of course.)
“Please, Noona. If you don’t want to go hiking then we could try something else,” the maknae suggested. He was playing with her nails, interested in the design she had gotten a few weeks ago, when Jennie dragged her out to hang.
Bao grumbled to herself, knowing that she had never been able to say no to the maknae, “Fine. But it’s going to be a short walk. I’m not in the mood to be out, and I’m only saying yes because of him.” Bao pointed to the maknae who was sporting a pair of puppy eyes.
“I didn’t even know he could do that,” Donghyuk stated incredulously.
“He saves them for Bao,” Jinhwan smirked, as Bao patted the youngest on the head.
“Okay, then. Let's get ready,” Jinhwan chuckled, and everyone got up from their spots on Bao’s bed and began to walk out of her room. Bobby and Jinhwan trailed behind watching Bao as she slowly got out of bed.
“I’m coming,” Bao stated in a monotone, not even looking up at them. The two nodded then left her room.
“Bleeding hearts,” Bao grumbled to herself, as her body protested to the act of finally moving. She got up and dragged her feet as she went to her closet. Bao glared at the clothes, and grabbed an oversized t-shirt that she was sure belonged to Bobby, and then a pair of boyfriend jeans.
They were going to go on a simple trail, a “baby trail”, is Bao what liked to call it. She knew that if the trail was too long or hard, they’d start complaining and the walk would be cut short. Bao hated half-assing things, so if she started a trail she was going to finish it. Hence the need to go on an easier trail, or else the boys would turn back, before they even made it to the halfway point.
Bao got dressed quickly, threw her hair in a messy ponytail with a wide knit headband, and grabbed her mini backpack. She stuffed her phone inside along with a few other things, then trudged out to the living room.
“Ready?” Jinhwan asked Bao as she joined him and the rest of the boys. She nodded her head, and all seven of them grabbed their shoes and left the dorm.
Bao was quiet for the most part, dark clouds still hovering over her, but she enjoyed watching the boys tease each other and talk about TV shows and games that they were currently into.
She hated that she was being so obvious with her emotions on Hanbin’s departure. The boys were just as hurt, but yet, here they were trying to get Bao to feel better. To not close herself in. She needed to be stronger for them. They needed her just as much as she needed them.
“Thank you,” Bao spoke up, so quietly, that the boys almost didn’t hear her.
Donghyuk who was closest to her, grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze, “We’re always gonna be here for you. Just like you’re always here for us.” Baos eyes widened slightly at the fact that Donghyuk basically read her mind.
“Don’t look so surprised. It’s written all over your face,” Junhoe smirked, waving his hand over his own face. Bao chuckled, knowing that no matter how hard she tried to hide herself, no one could read her better than her own boys.
“I really lucked out with you boys didn’t I?”
“Hell yeah, you did,” Bobby smiled, throwing his arm around Bao as they continued walking to the nearest convenience store. Bao remembered Chanwoo saying something about needing snacks for the walk.
Bao smiled as each boy divided and conquered the little store, grabbing far more than what they actually needed, and then some.
They’d get through this, she smiled to herself, then joined Yunhyeong and grabbing a few bags of chips.
