the fact that i dont see people talking about how good First and Pirate are very often makes me wanna do it more, cause i feel like i’ve got something to prove lmao. i dont even see Forevers talk about the things that i think make the songs a cut above the rest haha. i feel like theyre so smartly written and produced... i feel like theyre really finely tuned, with very little extra fluff, theyre like well-oiled and hyper-efficient machines lol. and really detailed too, both in the instrumentals and the songwriting itself. 

genuinely, i think people dont give Everglow enough credit here, i think people sort of write them off as a talented group releasing bangers, but like, just bangers. i think calling them just “bangers” is reductive haha, cause i think there is a lot of interesting stuff in these songs that can go toe to toe with any widely-beloved and universally-recognized well-written kpop song. like yeah, they’re bangers, they’re dumb fun, but they’re really smartly written dumb fun. i feel like Everglow arent included in the conversation about groups who are carving out a niche and doing really creative things in their music... i feel like Everglow arent included in the conversation about groups who are prime examples of the kind of boundary pushing stuff you can find in kpop. and i think they should be.

maybe it’s because they’re hype songs? and people dont take those as seriously as more emotional songs? i’m not sure. i feel like Dreamcatcher Scream didnt quite get the credit it deserved last year for how powerful and forceful it was. idk, maybe not everyone values those things in music as much as i do?
