IM SHAKING I'M ROCKING BACK AND FORTH AND HITTING MY HEAD AGAINST THE WALL...
I initially thought round 7 would be something emotional in the sense that it would be more gloomy and depressing, but no--this is literally some crazy ass upbeat techno-disco rave-themed music....in other words, It feels like a concert this time.
The atmosphere is so energetic I WASN'T EXPECTING IT.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's interesting how they stand on a stage that symbolizes themselves equally in a meshed sort of way, blue and green, in equal distance and on equal footing, unlike round 5 when Luka used elevation to his advantage a lot, it feels different here. Round 7 feels like a mix of their styles; even the song has a soft tempo with a mix of Till's roughness in there, but the idea that they'll fight for the stage feels somewhat pushed here. They both stand on the stage like they own it, and given their nature, Luka's manipulative personality allows him to dominate the stage with his presence, and Till's unwillingness to be overshadowed and made inferior this feels like on the flip side this round will be a real, and intense competition.
Round 7 is very different because, unlike the other rounds, Luka and Till are rivals. They have no chemistry of any sort. The reason why I say round 7 will be a real competition is because all the rounds before weren't, round 1, 2, 3, and 6 focused on the intimacy and relationship between characters, they were telling a story, pouring their hearts out through their songs, while round 7 will be made into a true death match.
Tumblr media
In typical fashion, Luka establishes himself with a sense of superiority as he spreads out, fills the arena with his presence, absorbs the energy of the stage, and captivates the aliens' attention. It's because he's confident, at least outwardly. He sets up the illusion of power this way, but truthfully, he is more controlled than ever. The strings on his costume look akin to puppet strings to me. That kind of symbolism has been shown in his other costumes before, but this feels overbearing, and trapping.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Till is more reserved in the teaser, at least in this example, he's hidden in the shadows, and how he's feeling is ambiguous, though obviously, it isn't anything good, given that he was just thrown on the stage while he's mentally unstable and confused I'm sure that's an understatement.
When Vivinos mentions Till's emotional journey...what mindset Till will bring to the stage...this round is gonna be chaotic as hell
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To me, Till looks all sorts of things, and anger is most prominent. He's flashy and loud, and the colors he's represented with are his own, Till embodies rebellion, and symbolizes that he's fighting to push the barriers of his cage, while Luka embraces his. after everything he's been through I'm sure his mind is a thunderstorm of mixed emotions, even just the look in his eyes.. so considering that--his side of things will probably be a lot more messy, but there is a good sign here that shows he seems to have regained his fighting spirit he doesn't look like he'll be going down without a fight at all.
Tumblr media
And their body language here in the last frame--The lighting in this frame looks intense, like the weight of those lights is gradually bearing down on them, Till looks strangely slouched over like he's out of it (I believe he may have been drugged by the aliens again..) while Luka, for once, isn't even looking at his audience, he's looking to the side, seemingly distracted. It's notable just how detached they look from their performance and the moment. The detached and performative nature of round 7 highlights how this performance is all merely a high-budget spectacle, entertainment for the aliens as it always was. It's a fitting vibe for Luka and Till, who had gone through the most to make it here just to have every aspect of their personalities marketed, and to be paraded around like trophies by their guardians.
(they don't want to be there, basically.)
And now the title--FOUL. Is how i'd describe it based on my reading of it.
"Blink gone" could be connected to the other teaser, "Never come back again" as in --> "blink gone--and never come back again" is maybe a reference to the things (or people) they've lost in their lives, in seemingly the blink of an eye.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In general, blink gone is related to something fast-moving. So how will that sentiment be expressed in round 7 through their perspectives?
Tumblr media
And YET AGAIN. I come back to this official art for another more parallel, I have no idea what the bands around Tills arms are about, but these two seem to correlate. (Or they could mean nothing at all. absolutely nothing at all. But fun fact: wearing black bands on your arm can be representative of mourning)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Luka's design here, Luka still hasn't changed his aesthetic, so nothing noteworthy other than the fact that his outfit just got more revealing, I can probably see why, if there is an alien equivalent of fan service in the universe of Alien stage. There are lines on his chest that I assume are meant to be scarring? Luka has been said to have had surgeries and experiments before so that little detail they included...ughhhh.
Tumblr media
And Mizi will seemingly be showing up for another rescue attempt, but as expected, the area is heavily guarded, more so than in round 6, so this may be a little tricky, and I have no idea how they'll pull it off this time with the atmosphere so intense and the aliens so close to them...

PLATONIC
𐂂 Oh best believe he's not gonna take you seriously at the beginning of your so-called friendship, I don't even think he considers it as one.
𐂂 He just considers you as one of the many people he knows. He also definitely doesn't think of you as an equal or anyone significant.
𐂂 He'll probably acknowledge your existence if you were a part of the hotel, but if you were just a random demon off the streets then no, he has better things to do with his time. Not unless you do something that grabs his attention.
𐂂 Deliberately trying to be on his good side won't affect him in any way, he's used to that treatment, therefore what you're doing is nothing special.
𐂂 But what does grab his attention? Subtle things. Giving him his space, if you have a phone or any technology invented beyond the 1930s you generally try and avoid him, thanking him as he passes you your portion of the meal he cooks for hotel bonding nights that Charlie mandated. Stuff like that when added up makes Alastor generally more appreciative of your existence.
𐂂 Only then you're upgraded from an acquaintance to an acquaintance that isn't as annoying to be around as the rest.
𐂂 That's when he strikes up random conversations with you, he appreciates it if you take the time to listen and add to it, even more so if you actually set aside something you were doing just to talk with him. It gives him a mini ego boost every time.
𐂂 Writing something while he talks about the hotel's structural problems? His smile widens when you close your notebook and join him by recounting the time you almost fell down the balcony.
𐂂 Eating breakfast and he talks about how he hunts the perfect deer for venison? There you are, chewing your food and nodding, listening to how he graphically describes the process while the rest of the hotel stares at him in horror.
𐂂 Another thing he does during this phase is popping out of nowhere and keeping up with what you're doing, call it interest, call it curiosity, or maybe it's boredom. Now that Alastor knows that you are more tolerant of him he'll fully use that to his entertainment.
𐂂 I can see him trying to get a deal out of you but it doesn't go anywhere, since I'm going to assume we are all smart enough to not hand our souls to Alastor on a silver platter.
𐂂 Survive his onslaught of impromptu shenanigans and move on to the next tier of actually being friends.
𐂂 Alastor treats his friends as his equals so there's that, also be ready to accept his invites to drinking coffee around the hotel and talking about the latest mess the hotel went through.
𐂂 The way he treats you compared to how he treats Angel or Husk is way different that it physically gives everyone a whiplash. I'm talking about something like this:
"Can you not scare off people, smiles? We're tryna bring in people into the hotel." Angel explains, Alastor only simpers as he feigns ignorance.
"Why, I don't know what you're talking about!" He laughs as he skips off merrily. Charlie and Vaggie then nod to each other and drag you into the conversation, whispering you something before they push you towards Alastor.
"Hey Alastor, I just wanted to ask if you could help me with something?" You ask, you haven't made up a chore to ask for help from him but you needed a reason to try and stop him from scaring any potential guests. Does Alastor know? I guarantee you he does. But does he let you do it anyways? Yes, absolutely he does.
"Anything to help a dear out, if you'll excuse us then!" Alastor bids goodbye for the both of you as you walk away, despite being the one to ask him, he was the one leading the way.
𐂂 Alastor also invites you to meet Rosie! Rosie finds you very endearing and if you had a penchant for cannibalism expect luncheons together with them.
𐂂 By this point everyone in the hotel notices how Alastor gravitates towards you, they have mixed reactions to it but the general consensus is to not disrupt your "bonding sessions" as Charlie puts it.
𐂂 Alastor oftentimes shares jokes whether or not you appreciate his humor. Side note, Alastor full-on cackles if you or Rosie say something outta pocket about somebody, and hangouts with both of them are generally a good time. He'll try to say shit like:
"Let's be nicer now." All the while he holds in a laugh after you and Rosie called Susan the wicked bitch of the West.
𐂂 This is also a silly thought of mine, but picture this:
You decided to stay up late one night after you decided to do whatever it is you were putting off and after a while, you decided to grab some coffee from downstairs.
Arriving at the kitchen you see, this eldritch abomination in the shadows looming over the cabinet where the instant coffee packets were kept. It then takes you a few seconds to register that it was Alastor and you were just left standing by the kitchen doorway, wondering what to say.
"Can I grab the coffee packets from that cabinet over there?" You point towards the cabinet, Alastor then quickly shifts back to his usual form and ushers you to the kitchen counter.
"Nonsense my dear! Why don't I make us some nice and hot coffee instead of consuming such tasteless things." Alastor insists and before you could even refuse he was already doing a French press.
𐂂 Though as you can imagine Alastor has his off days, he makes it clear to you when he isn't in the best of moods and you steer clear of him per his request. Then the fight with Adam happened. As the rest of the hotel was busy with rebuilding the hotel, you were balancing both looking for Alastor and helping paint the walls of the new hotel.
𐂂 This is when the remaining walls he had crumbled down as you find him at his lowest, basically defeated and while he was royally pissed when someone saw him in such a vulnerable state, you were the best option out of the ensemble that was currently singing outside of the ruins of his old radio station.
𐂂 Hesitant as he was, he let you dress his wound with bandages, he wasn't comfortable with anything else you offered, not with cleaning up the wound itself, not with telling the rest that he was alive, and definitely not asking for help from anyone either. So you stayed there for a while after you finished dressing his wound up, his blood immediately soaking through the bandage. But you didn't say anything and let Alastor be, and after a few more minutes in silence, he got up and offered you a hand as if he wasn't the one who needed it. The only thing he says is:
"We mustn't dilly-dally now, the rest are waiting for you." Not us, just you. It sounded bitter but you didn't say anything.
ROMANTIC(? AS MUCH AS ALASTOR CAN BE AT LEAST)
𐂂 Romantic isn't the right word for Alastor, I imagine him to be somebody who doesn't outright say his feelings but there's a gradual change, and then one day, before you know it people around the hotel will start asking you if you two were a thing. He's not going to acknowledge the change verbally, but he does notice it and acknowledges it in his own way.
𐂂 Don't get me wrong he's capable of being romantic, acts of service is his go-to, and on days that he feels like it he can be very vocal with his affections. But it's not an everyday occurrence.
𐂂 This only starts right after something like seeing him at his lowest, that for me is when I feel like he's more willing to be more open to you. I mean, you've already seen him at rock bottom, so why not?
𐂂 Go to him during your more vulnerable moments, he's done it to you so he expects the same. Trust goes both ways after all.
𐂂 It starts out small, if you were used to setting things aside just to listen to him ramble, wait until you start to notice that he's doing the same thing for you. Usually when you're discussing something he multitasks, of course he still listens but efficiency is of the essence. Eventually though, he starts to physically put aside anything he is doing, showing that you have his full attention.
𐂂 There are also times when you (and the rest of the hotel) notice that your portion in meals that he cooked has significantly more than what the others have on their plates. Anyone who complains gets told that they were only imagining it by Alastor.
𐂂 Alastor also gradually becomes more lenient with you, letting you get away with a lot more than you should. Steal his monocle? He'll wear his glasses as he searches for you in the hotel. Break something by accident? He'll be by your side telling you to be more careful as he picks up every broken piece before you hurt yourself.
𐂂 Adjustment is key, I can see the other party doing more of it but he also makes an effort to meet you halfway. Are you particularly touchy? He doesn't get it but he knows it makes you happy so he makes an effort to accommodate you.
𐂂 Words of affirmation? Since he gets to see you get all flustered he's up for it! He finds you adorable whenever you do.
𐂂 Alastor tries for you, tries to navigate all of those unfamiliar territories that he's never had the chance to explore to ensure that you don't feel like the only one in your relationship. It does feel like it sometimes, I won't sugarcoat it, Alastor at heart is a man cold and sharp on the edges, but he isn't Alastor if he wasn't and he still cares for you all the same even if he doesn't show it.
𐂂 I'd say the most romantic part of the day for the both of you would be reading together in his room, fire crackling as you sit on the floor (much to Alastor's protest) while you lean against Alastor's chair. Sometimes he sneaks a peek into your book just to see what you were reading out of curiosity, and you'd rather not tell him that you could see him doing it from his reflection through the small mirror he had hanging by one of his shelves.
𐂂 Pet names for days! Yes he does call you chere, next question please. Pet names become more frequent the closer you two become, although, the more personal nicknames would be said behind closed doors. The most he'll call you in public would be darling, he didn't need to air out every part of his life and you both were content at that. Also, call me crazy, delusional even, but hear me out here sharks:
You were sitting by the fire, with Alastor still complaining that sitting on the floor was nowhere near as comfortable as you said it was, you only laughed lightly at how much of a fuss he's kicking up.
"I won't die a second time just because I decided to sit on the floor Al. Besides, you're a lot closer if I sit here. I like it like that. So let me have this one, please?" You don't know why, but he stops in the middle of his tangent. Something about what you just said struck something in him that got him laughing softly, even going so far as to ruffle your hair ever so gently.
"Oh, you dear old thing. I suppose I can't stop you." He eventually takes his hand back and goes back to reading as he hums together with the faint melody of jazz in the air.
𐂂 Alastor helps you dress up if you ask, need help with a zipper you can't quite reach? Hold his staff for a moment while he does. Can't pick between two things? Ask him and he'll give you his opinion, he'll often say you'll look just as lovely wearing either one but he does have his choice.
𐂂 You don't sleep in the same rooms unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you see it, if you're a part of the rehabilitation program you both would have a separate room of your own. Neither of you made any plans of asking Charlie to move you to his room or vice versa either since you were both unprepared for whatever questions she may have so you both agreed to put it off, there really was no urgency or need to stay in the same room anyways.
𐂂 Letters! Events like Valentine's Day never interested Alastor, there was no one to spend it with so he never needed to worry about it. But with you in the picture he starts to think otherwise, you both rarely ask for anything from the other so gifts would have to be purely given by initiative, and now was the perfect time. It takes Alastor an almost embarrassingly long amount of time to settle on writing you a letter, a heartfelt one dedicated to thanking you for being a part of his afterlife, for being someone he can trust, and for making the days less monotonous for him. Imagine his surprise when he hands you a letter only for you to give one of your own. You both share a laugh and settle down by the fire, reading your letters together as Alastor sits down on the floor together with you just this once to humor you he says.
𐂂 All in all, it takes a while, but with time, patience, and I mean a lot of it, you'll get there.
Tumblr media
╭┉┉┅┄┄┈•◦_•◦❥•◦_
Interested in hearing me yap even more? Give Signed, Alastor a go if you have the time. It's about a bat and a deer faffing around until they sort their feelings out.

Ladislao Reti, an eminent Leonardo scholar, acknowledged that historians of the past have struggled with how to reconcile their exalted reputation of Leonardo and the fact he worked for Cesare Borgia. This is true for both past and contemporary writers. Paolo Giovio (1483-1552), bishop of Nocera, wrote Life of Leonardo da Vinci and intentionally excluded Cesare entirely from the work, to rid Leonardo of an association that Giovio saw as a tamish on the artist's reputation. Vasari also redacts any mention of Cesare Borgia from his Vita di Leonardo. The writings on Leonardo's life by Gian Paolo Lomazzo, a friend of Francesco Melzi who was Leonardo's student and the individual to whom he bequeathed his notebooks, also offer no reference to the artist's time with Borgia. Even Martin Kemp and Kenneth Clark, both well respected leading minds in the circle of Leonardo studies, minimize the association, customarily dedicating only a surface analysis to the intensive, complicated, and formative period in Leonardo's life. The perpetual disassociation is a disservice to both the artist and his patron-the historical importance of each individual only heightens the value in understanding their relationship and its outcomes. Leonardo and Cesare probably met for the first time when Borgia entered Milan with the French army in 1499. Leonardo arrived in Milan around 1482 and quickly began his association with the court of Ludovico Sforza and in 1489-90 he began earning an official salary. Leonardo's employment in the court of Milan was very different from the time he spent with Cesare. It would be narrow to assume that Leonardo never executed for Cesare the duties traditionally held by court artists like the entertainments staged in Milan. It will in fact be argued that he did, but Cesare's treatment and utilization of Leonardo was different from Ludovico's. The Borgia ruler valued Leonardo for divergent reasons and gave him extraordinary latitude in his work. Cesare treated him as an equal, not as a possession but an asset to honor, as someone from whom he had great respect, and as a familiar. With Cesare Leonardo was given freedom, and although he was given projects, they were self-propelled and stimulating to his curiosity which had struggled to thrive in Milan. He was given the title of military or ducal engineer, one of the most sought after court positions for which an artist could earn a salary. We know from his letter of introduction to Ludovico Sforza in 1489-90 that Leonardo wanted this position. [...]With Borgia he finally held the position that he desired.

Parity on Don Quixote and Sancho
I’d like to first establish that she appears to be ambidextrous, showing equal dexterity on each hand throughout her different IDs and when she emulates Bari’s moves as Sancho. Below are my observations on parity (handedness) across my gathered IDs. I may follow up with her EGOs later on.
Left-Handed Don Quixotes
LCB
Shi South Section 5 Director
W Corp L3 Cleanup Agent (via sheathed knife on belt)
Right-Handed Don Quixotes
Just about every other ID
Please note that the below sprites have been mirrored to be viewed from the ally side. Both Bari and Sancho fight from the right-hand side of the screen in-game. I will be tracking parity using Sancho’s boa to denote her left side.
Tumblr media
Sancho’s Left-Handed Attacks
Odachi
Falchion
Double Straight Swords (all scabbards are left-handed)
Sancho’s Right-Handed Attacks
La Sangre
Thousand-Pound Bow and Arrow
Sancho’s N/A Attacks
Punching us (ow)
Analysis (the yappening)
I first noticed the discrepancy in Don Quixote’s handedness when I looked at her Cinq ID’s UT3 art shortly after looking at LCB Don Quixote. At first, I thought that she fenced right-handed to offer a fairer duel to most denizens of The City. It only makes sense. However, I soon noticed that she fights right-handed in IDs that don’t call for that kind of accommodation such as Lobotomy EGO Lantern (her right arm anchors her grip). N Corp Mittelhammer follows the same trend despite their religious discrimination not extending to parity, seeing that Guido is openly left-handed.
Maybe, then, right-handed is her rule rather than an exception in most mirror worlds? I can see that, given the prominence of parity as symbols of good and evil, sword and shield throughout literature. Which, given Don Quixote’s record, she may very well fight right-handed to emulate that common image.
So why does LCB Don Quixote joust left-handed? It might be as simple as Don Quixote wishing to fight at her best with her limited combat experience, seeing that she spent most of her known life in a tower like a waiting damsel.
Or, well—
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyways.
Sancho, and by extension Don Quixote’s EGO La Sangre de Sancho, jousts right-handed. For Sancho, I hypothesize it as a matter of convenience since she prefers to wear her Armadura over her left shoulder. Therefore, left-handed fighting would block her vision and she has little reason to fight so seriously given her immense Bloodfiend strength and experience in war. When Don Quixote dons her armor to charge for justice in La Sangre de Sancho, I imagine that her reasoning for switching hands is both to emulate the knights of old and to entertain an old habit she doesn’t consciously remember.
In IDs such as Shi and W Corp Don Quixote, their deviance from other mirror worlds may be tied to a breaking dream. As a director of the Shi Association, Don Quixote beaming smile and quick blade is the difference between life and death for her exhausted subordinates. She cannot afford to play a character when she is so intimately and viscerally aware of the doomed path her section has been assigned to. As a W Corp L3 Cleanup Agent, her spirit is quite explicitly broken as she witnesses what she is meant to accept as her daily routine aboard the WARP trains. Where another Don Quixote may believe in the inherent and all-surpassing goodness of humanity (the Fixers merely haven’t gotten to this evil yet!), this one has been shown time and time again what humans will do to themselves and each other when time and consequences no longer exist. Righteousness does not eventually overcome cruelty when both are immortal.
As always, feel free to reply if I’ve missed something or you have something to add. Discussion is a fruit of community.

Random thought before back to defense prep:
Something I find interesting and enjoyable about P&P is the way that Austen both foreshadows various revelations about Darcy and complicates them before they ever happen. This is typically done through subtle asides or quick interchanges that don't necessarily register as that significant at the time, but still gives the readers a chance to pick up on what's really going to happen.
Just a few examples:
1- Elizabeth and Charlotte briefly discuss how difficult it would be for an outsider, and perhaps Bingley himself, to detect Jane's true feelings:
It was generally evident, whenever they [Jane and Bingley] met, that he did admire her; and to her [Elizabeth] it was equally evident that Jane was yielding to the preference which she had begun to entertain for him from the first, and was in a way to be very much in love; but she [Elizabeth] considered with pleasure that it was not likely to be discovered by the world in general, since Jane united with great strength of feeling, a composure of temper and an uniform cheerfulness of manner, which would guard her from the suspicions of the impertinent. She mentioned this to her friend, Miss Lucas. “It may, perhaps, be pleasant,” replied Charlotte, “to be able to impose on the public in such a case; but it is sometimes a disadvantage to be so very guarded.”
2- Darcy tries to warn Elizabeth at the Netherfield Ball:
“I can readily believe,” answered he, gravely, “that reports may vary greatly with respect to me; and I could wish, Miss Bennet, that you were not to sketch my character at the present moment, as there is reason to fear that the performance would reflect no credit on either.”
3- Charlotte tries to "read" Darcy at Rosings:
He [Darcy] seldom appeared really animated. Mrs Collins knew not what to make of him. Colonel Fitzwilliam’s occasionally laughing at his stupidity proved that he was generally different, which her own knowledge of him could not have told her; and as she would have liked to believe this change the effect of love, and the object of that love her friend Eliza, she set herself seriously to work to find it out: she watched him whenever they were at Rosings, and whenever he came to Hunsford; but without much success.
4- literally the next chapter, one of the funnier miscommunications between Elizabeth and Darcy in Kent:
More than once did Elizabeth, in her ramble within the park, unexpectedly meet Mr Darcy. She felt all the perverseness of the mischance that should bring him where no one else was brought; and, to prevent its ever happening again, took care to inform him, at first, that it was a favourite haunt of hers. How it could occur a second time, therefore, was very odd! Yet it did, and even the third. It seemed like wilful ill-nature, or a voluntary penance; for on these occasions it was not merely a few formal inquiries and an awkward pause and then away, but he actually thought it necessary to turn back and walk with her. He never said a great deal, nor did she give herself the trouble of talking or of listening much; but it struck her in the course of their third rencontre that he was asking some odd unconnected questions—about her pleasure in being at Hunsford, her love of solitary walks, and her opinion of Mr and Mrs Collins’s happiness; and that in speaking of Rosings, and her not perfectly understanding the house, he seemed to expect that whenever she came into Kent again she would be staying there too. His words seemed to imply it.
Very mysterious!!!! Definitely none of their communications here could justifiably be misread!!

An idea for (if sagau works) is that the reader is just stupidly forward when talking (Or just outright unhinged.) If they hear scaramouche talking smack? "I don't want to hear it from the short grape with a plate for a hat." Or calling childe ed sheeran. In short their mouth has almost little to no filter. And each time they say something it usually ends like: "They... Have a point..." or "Why does the creator hate me???"
Ooo this one will be very interesting to do!!
SAGAU The creator with a sharp-tongued.
They wound up teleported into Genshin Impact world and as known as the creator. But they have a strong mind as vast as the heavens but also has a tongue as sharp as a primordial blade.
Love to be straight forward or just outright unhinged when they are irritated at someone.
When they get irritated at someone they tend to say something that makes them think twice about themselves. (cause deep down when the characters think about it... it makes a lot of sense.)
And when they are very irritated they sometimes use their ability on some of the characters. Like trapping them in a golden bubble.
Short Story:
(a/n: while I write this I decided to use y/n instead of using they/them because it confuses me to tell the difference.)
As y/n are relaxing in a peaceful meadow after finishing some paperwork and having a meeting with the Archons. As y/n are relaxing the quietest get disturbed by someone's arguing, so y/n decide to check it out cause they disturb your relaxing time. Once they get to their destination they have a very unimpressed look because you saw Scarmouche and Childe.
'Of course it has to be them two.' They thought.
Notice that both Scarmouche and Childe are about to fight. Y/n decide to intervene by using their ability to trap them in a golden bubble. Once those two realize that they are trapped they turn their head towards y/n and saw that y/n is non-impressive and on a verge of snapping at them.
"Can't you two just either get along or don't make eye contact with one another." Y/n said while you can hear how irritated they are.
Of course the first one to speak is Scarmouche and said a whole lot of talk and no bite in hopes that y/n can let him go.
"I don't want to hear it from the short grape with a plate for a hat," the Creator declared, unfazed by Scaramouche's snide remarks.
Immediately Childe burst out laughing at Scara's face expression, but he is still under the flames from the creator y/n, who quickly turn towards him with golden flicker in their eye.
"The same goes for you too 'Ed Sheeran'." Y/n said with a sneer that could equal the trickster god himself. Then decided to let them go by dropping them on their butt and walking away from them.
Both Scarmouche and Childe were indazed by the creator's boldness, at this point underneath their distrust lay a resenting affirmation of truth. "They... Have a point," mumbled Scaramouche, hesitantly surrendering to the creator's unpolished perception. "For what reason does the creator loathe me???" considered Childe, however where it counts, he really wanted to appreciate their shameless negligence for accepted practices.
Thus, the creator's excursion through Teyvat proceeded, each experience leaving a path of confounded partners and dumbfounded foes afterward. For in our current reality where words held power unfathomable, the creator used their tongue like a sword, slicing through misrepresentation and uncovering the crude pith of truth, doubtlessly stirring up a lot of entertainment for everyone around them.

Belo my lovely silkie chicken I just wanna collect his fur and make a nice cozy sweater with it 💕
also I was going through your world building post and one thing I noticed is that Saiders are very heavy with punishments: humans who practiced magic without their say so, angels who had big disagreements, etc would all get severe punishments what would that look like?
[Belo sweater would be the most comfortable thing you've ever worn in a while and probably help when you're going through health/mood lows.]
Siadar are extremely heavy with punishment, regardless of who or what that punishment is targeted towards. They're harsh with angels, they're harsh with humanity, they're harsh with their own kind and they continue to be harsh elsewhere, to their newer projects.
The top of their hierarchy will find a million and one ways to justify the intensity of their punitive force, so it's not as if the siadar themselves see their actions as cruel. Neither do angels, as beings with very defined purposes instilled into them since birth (and no real biological or psychological reason to break them). In fact, humanity itself, devoid of any moral compass created by its own species, absorbed the moral compass of siadars for practically the entire duration there was interlevel contact. So many humans understood and accepted the punishments they saw happen or were subjected to as normal.
Now, humanity isn't very magically inclined by default. The species was designed to have less "magnetism" to that type or energy, to reject it, so the humans that are out there practicing it in that period of time are already deviants in some form or another. This means we're probably talking about a collection of "infractions" already committed by the humans in question. Death is a very likely outcome here. Or, at the very least, the removal of reproductive abilities, so that this particular human -If they happen to biologically be more attuned to magic than they should be- Cannot spread that ability to any descendants.
The sight of a particularly magically talented human is reason enough for siadar authorities to investigate other highers in charge of monitoring human populations, in the effort of judging whether or not a human was directly tampered with in forbidden ways.
Angels are a very organized species, to say the least. Out of most non-humans out there, these would be the individuals that are least likely to ever question their place in life, to ponder on concepts bigger than their routines and duties, or even seriously entertain intrusive thoughts. They're a lot more likely to report their own perceived defective symptoms to assigned siadars than they are to attempt to act on them. It's worth noting that angels also monitor each other, especially the ones of Worshipper rank, and will easily report suspicious behavior. They aren't malicious in this evaluation, but they're unwilling to cover up serious situations.
Big disagreements between angels, although rare (until the time Betrayer seeded doubt into the minds of some celestials), aren't very likely to escalate into angel-on-angel physical violence. In spite of any bubbling emotion, they're still practically hardwired to respect rank differences and have internalized that harming another angel is harming their kind altogether. These disagreements can entirely halt the productivity of many tasks if the celestials involved have equal standing in terms of authority. In these instances, both will eventually request the opinion of the nearest unoccupied siadar.
Angels are a self-punitive species as well. They'll perceive their failures -Even if not directly their fault- as punishment worthy and will inflict wounds on themselves or deprive themselves of participation on anything until they are "forgiven" by their highers. Celestials can and will die simply from feeling that they are consistently failing, becoming lethargic and weak until they simply perish.

what's ur ideal Jason and Bruce dynamic? like do u want them to be a happy family again or do u want them to be mortal enemies or another thing?
Ajklakdksdjajd both???
Hear me out, I love Jason and Bruce's relationship because it's so complex and so so painful
I like both the idea of them working out their issues and accept their differences out of love, that's ideal for me. From all possibilities.
However if I don't get that? I love the idea of Jason continuing being a rogue and continuing in his own path to find his justice, because at the end of the day that's what Jason and Bruce are doing by being vigilantes, looking for the justice they didn't get to have
Both Bruce and Jason are so incredibly stubborn, both have mortally different morals that built over their trauma, they differ in this and this makes it very difficult when trying to emphatize with the other. Yet they still love each other which is heartbreaking.
Jason psicologically taunting Bruce is my jam too. If Bruce gets to beat him up I wanted them equals in this, I don't like this dynamic in which Bruce gets to beat Jason up (for no valid reason other than toxic constipated shit because you can't tell me the same Bruce I read in Venom would beat up his child) and for some reason Jason doesn't retaliate, or even lashes out?
To this point I'd rationalize it as Jason and his bleeding heart showing because he is capable, this goes to my believing that Jason is way more forgiving than people give him credit for.
Otherwise I don't like it much, maybe for character exploration and whump but otherwise I just don't.
It doesn't feel right for Jason to be Bruce's victim.
He was tormenting him and was an equal to Bruce in Under the Red Hood, so it's alway feels wrong to see their dynamic in any other way.
This fanon take that Bruce is permissive and has Jason as his favorite is my not so guilty pleasure, it's really fun to explore, it's easier to believe without Jason dying or expressing his trauma is entertaining, complex ways.
Overall I love their relationship in any way, I'd eat up almost anything with them. But I'd like more consistency, and ideally, yeah, them working out their issues I would adore. But see them in conflict is fun too. <3

PLEASE TELL ME MORE ABOUT YOYR HAZBIN AU
So Vox is an angel, does that change anything about him on an emotional level ? (Like when he sees religious imagery, does it make him feel anything ‘inexplicably’?) Does his one sided rivalry with Alastor stay the same ? What’s the relationship like between the three Vs? Whatre his thoughts on Velvette’s church?
Angel’s in charge of the family mafia huh? So he must be pretty powerful… Does Val still have power over him or are they on more equal footing ?
So Vox is an angel, does that change anything about him on an emotional level ? (Like when he sees religious imagery, does it make him feel anything ‘inexplicably’?)
- Any mentions of religious imagery, especially christianity, make him a bit.. twitchy, but never the less, it doesn't bother him as much.
Vox can often come off as one; "oblivious" to the fact that he's an angel It essentially became a rule in hell to not mention that fact around him. Two; "passive," but everyone associated with him knows it's a bunch of horseshit and loves to mess with people once they realize it.
Does his one sided rivalry with Alastor stay the same?
- There's still a rivalry, albiet for different reasons.
Alastor: "People always say that I strike fear in everyone's soul, *cue laugh track* Hahaha! If only I knew what it felt like, correction if only I knew what anything felt like anymore! *cue laugh track*"
One of Hell's punishments that was inflicted on Al was the inability to feel anything because he was enjoying his time a serial killer a little too much. Because of this, he becomes severely bored years to come since what's the point in causing a lot of chaos when you can't feel anything from it? Now, don't get me wrong, he's still a heavily feared overlord, but now he's just so bored with a lot of things in Hell.
But then Vox came along. He essentially puts dread in everyone's stomachs because it's very likely he's a one-way ticket to getting yourself permanently killed without a cleanse happening. Alastor actually gets intrigued by him and thus starts their rivalry, it focus less on. "Radio vs TV" and more on, "He's very dangerous and could end me for good, he's the only one the peaked my interest and perhaps maybe give me the ability to feel fear."
Sure, there are exorcists, but all of them evenually leave anyway, too squirmy and skitterish for Alastor's taste.
But Vox just strides in everywhere like he owns the place, without even a little smidge of fright and treats everything like a game.
What’s the relationship like between the three Vs? Whatre his thoughts on Velvette’s church?
- Vox & Valentino: Both have been married for fifty years and it's still counting, as seen in the show it's implied that Vox has to calm down Val a lot of the time when he has a temper, this AU switches that. SHAU!Val isn't dumb enough to let Vox's temper get the better of him, because how knows what would happen if there's a pissed off angelic overlord. (Thank the lord it doesn't happen often.)
OG!Vox butters up OG!Val
SHAU!Val does it instead
OG!Val intentionally withheld information about Alastor coming back so he could push OG!Vox's buttons
SHAU!Val doesn't even entertain the idea
Yeah, Val can be a bit trigger happy, but he's not outright suicidal.
Valentino & Velvette: Both of them hold each other in high regard but aren't as close with one other since Val doesn't focus much on social media. Valentino is a very direct guy. The only Voxtagram posts you're getting from him are photos of sinners with holy bullets in their skulls as a warning to whoever crosses him. Velvette and her little cult of followers take a step further to spread the message, too. Essentially, she's on top when it comes to information around social media.
Velvette & Vox: Both being tech savvy, they get along quite well. While Vox controls all of the internet and anything tech in hell, he's more focused on the business side of things and selling products, when a new product sells, Velvette makes it so the message spreads further.
Angel’s in charge of the family mafia huh? So he must be pretty powerful… Does Val still have power over him or are they on more equal footing ?
Since the church is used a ploy to lure more sinners into their power, Vox finds a lot of assumentment in it and often times indulges in entering the church to heighten her claims and further reel sinners in.
If anyone wants more info, please send an ask! :)
- Sadly, Angel is still under a contract with Val, fortunately though they more-or-less have respect for each other. Angel finds it hilariously ironic that he's right-hand man to a moth when he's the spider here.

What does Spice and Jack like to do together?
It's unbearably hot here and I hate working. One more ask, for realsies this time, because fuck everything else
"What do Kratos Burning Spice and Atreus Pepper Jack like to do together?" Sorry, I wanted to do that lol
Spice travels back and forth between the Golden Cheese Kingdom and the Spice Ridge by himself a lot (for work, basically), and he brings Jack with him whenever he can (after Paneer was born, he started either taking them both or alternating between them each time so they get an equal amounts of trips with him). He actually likes when his son joins him to do stuff, even if it's "boring" king/leader duties (which Jack does not find boring, he actually is legitimately interested in things like that and likes that his dad takes him to his "work")
They go on hunting trips often, too. Spice got him in on that early - as soon as he could walk in a straight line without tripping lol. Paneer doesn't like hunting (she actually really loves animals and doesn't want to hurt any ever), so it remained purely a father/son activity. They'll go out for a while - a few hours usually, or even a few days if Spice wants to go somewhere far for a challenge - and hunt game together. They lock onto/track something and work out a plan of attack, so to speak. They both have very different ways of doing/approaching things, both on a hunt and in general (it's those clashing personalities again), so they try to meet halfway and think of something that works for them both. They actually work quite well together and make a good team. (As Jack ages, Spice grants him a little more control/authority of their hunts, to see how he handles taking charge of something like that. Jack does well, for the most part. It makes Spice really proud.)
Jack likes to tell Spice about things he learns (he likes telling both his parents, really). Jack is very smart and even more curious, so he tends to pick a thing or two up every day, even if just a bit of obscure trivia - and he likes to share it with his dad, because he actually likes hearing what Spice has to say about stuff. He'll show him books, he'll bring Spice with him to the library when he can so they can read books together (I honestly think Spice is a smart guy, or at least I headcanon him as such. He was the Herald of History; it's canon that he used to enjoy having deep, open-minded discussions with others, particularly about history, so I think that lends itself to Spice being reasonably intelligent, even wise to some degree). When he was little, he'd just walk up to Spice with a book in hand and climb into his lap, then either ask him to read it to him or ask to read it together. (While Spice no longer fully possesses the patience he once had to entertain people's thoughts and attempts at conversation (he regained a decent amount, but a few millennia being violently antisocial kinda damages your people skills lol)... he has all the patience in the world for his son, so he's happy to indulge him.) Somewhere underneath this behavior is Jack's inherent need/want to get closer to his father, because (as I've mentioned in another post) they're so different from each other otherwise and he doesn't want that little gap between them to exist. They don't always understand each other very well and Jack doesn't like that. And there's still that little nagging insecurity in his heart that Spice is disappointed in who he is and he's not "worthy" of being his son, so it sometimes leads to him trying too hard to "prove" himself to Spice in one way or another. He knows his dad is smart, and he knows his dad will at least indulge him when he wants to tell him stuff, so that's the avenue Jack most often takes. "Look, Father, I know lots of things like you do. I know/want to know history like you do. I'm like you, see? Am I doing a good job?" Some sort of thought process like that. It's sad and unnecessary, but Jack doesn't really understand that for a long time (that "not knowing how to communicate with each other" thing doesn't help)
They also like to spar. Spice always made the biggest effort and took on the biggest role in training the kids in combat, and that reflects in him having one-on-one fights/sparring sessions with them both often. It's one of the ways he likes/tries to bond with them the most; he never loses his taste for battle even as a better man, and he wants to share that excitement with his children. He fights them for practical reasons and also just for fun. Jack views sparring more as a way to let off steam than to have fun (not that he doesn't have fun, though), so he doesn't necessarily always dig this every single time (because he's not upset about something all the time, you know?), but he rarely turns Spice down when he challenges him, so.
And this is more when Jack is little than any other time, but - Spice likes to pick him up and carry him around places. Jack will sit or perch on his shoulders and they'll walk around together. Just a father/son stroll, just because. Jack likes it because it makes him feel tall (Spice is like 6'5" minimum in my headcanon lol). Spice knows it makes him feel tall, so he helps his son pretend he's tall for a little while lol. They do this a lot less after Jack gets past toddler age; Jack thinks it's a little embarrassing to get piggyback rides when he's older... He just sticks to walking by Spice's side like a "mature" person then. But... Sometimes he misses clinging to his dad and feeling tall, so he'll just go ahead and fly up and perch on his shoulders like he used to. And Spice just lets him do it, whenever he wants, without any issue, because he likes being seen and admired as this larger-than-life figure (figuratively and literally) by his kids

um i’m swamped with school but here’s some radiorose headcanons! i am probably gonna write little imagines (are those still a thing?) about them & the headcanons instead of full stories cus im a good writer- just not in the creative way… the boring research and report paper way….
- rosie does a lot of the grocery shopping because alastor is very frugal. i imagine he was pretty poor as a kid so it was a habit his mama passed onto him.
- same train of thought, but he makes a lot of struggle meals. 70% of the time out of habit, 30% of the time for nostalgia. old habits die hard. when he gets older the nostalgia reason becomes more often. in my au he’s very very early 20s. frontal lobe not finished. i see him dying at like 29-32 range.
-alastor is pretty thin, and rosie will make him model designs and he sits there feigning grumpiness but really he doesn’t care and likes to help her.
-constant playful war of who’s cooking because they both enjoy it. rosie can bake and she teaches alastor how to. he doesn’t like sweets but after he learns, he bakes little goodies for her.
-they both have similar m.o. and they leave little signatures on each victim. alastor draws or carves (depending on severity of how much he dislikes the person) a smiley face. rosie leaves little flower petals covering their face or heart.
-both alastor and rosie have similar motives. they will kill both men and women but will not harm children and nor will they orphan children. they target people who are abusers (in any form) and p3dos. they are sorta like vigilantes but they are a little too sadistic to be a vigilante in a way. they torment the victim psychologically and physically as revenge and take joy and are entertained by it.
-they are knowledgeable in different areas. alastor is very good at anatomy, rosie is very good with decay. they are both extremely intelligent, but these skills are only slightly more noticeable in each other.
-alastor manipulates through smooth talking, rosie manipulates through sweet talking. they manipulate people to gain more of a social status, manipulate victims into traps, and manipulate people who are not their target demographic, but incredibly arrogant and difficult. they both do not manipulate innocent people or people with equal or lesser power than them. they do not manipulate each other either.
- due to the vastly different parts of america they were raised in (alastor- new orleans, louisiana and rosie- boston, massachusetts) they sometimes have trouble interpreting words or understanding words through each others heavy accents. alastor may ask if rosie wants a “cold drink,” she may assume a literal drink that is cold, when he actually is referring to soda. rosie may ask the same thing but refers to soda as “pop.” for funsies, mimzy just calls it soda
-alastor is still very cold, suave, silent, and nonchalant. exception… rosie. he melts for her. she likes to have fun with that lol. he’s ace but rosie can definitely bring out a little bit more of a gray-asexual or favorable ace with just small little (but intimate) gestures. he’s not used to it but he likes it. he likes the genuine affection.
-rosie first saw his curls when he was escorting her home and it began to rain, not having an umbrella, alastors hair began to curl. he didn’t want her to see (cus yaknow… the 1920s…) but she loved it. she eventually learns and helps al take care of his curly hair or will help him straighten it. she prefers it curly but she understands the need and want for it to be straight in public/society at the time.
THANK YOU THAGS ALL!

The Yappening: Daemos Magic Information!
Tumblr media
Magic is a major influence on the Daemos’ lifestyle, culture, society and so much more, and it’s important for the environment as well. Daemos magic is as important to the continent of Tramea as a whole as it is to the daemos. Magic is most commonly used in Spellcasting, a method of releasing magic to accomplish a task or intent. Enchantment is often more difficult to accomplish and is more rare, but it does exist though it only affects objects. Daemos magic is most known for it’s flashiness, all alignments can produce spells with a dazzling appearance that mesmerizes those unfamiliar with it and sometimes even the daemos themselves.
Magi:
Magi is the term used for physical magic. Three forms of it exist within the daemos, positive magi, neutral magi, and negative magi. Neutral magi doesn't have power of it’s own until it is summoned by a spell, afterwards by unknown means the neutral magi becomes positive magi and escapes the body, resulting in spell casting. Negative magi is magi that has already been used, and will be more explained in a moment.
Basic Magic:
All daemos possess and are capable of preforming basic magic (provided they have magi), which is very commonly used for basic everyday things such as cleaning, hygiene, entertainment, and hunting.
Magic Residue:
Magic residue or negative magi is the direct result of positive magi after all daemos spells are cast, but the concentration varies on the strength and complexity of the spell. Small, basic spells release such a small amount that it cannot be seen with the eye. However, when a daemos casts a very powerful and very complicated spell, such as the portal spell that Asch and Lady Bish used, a large amount of magic residue will remain. Magic residue can be a powerful ingredient in potions and is also great for plants as it can be used as an efficient fertilizer.
Potions:
Most potions aren't inherently magical, as they don't require spells for them to take effect. Thanks to Tramea’s large and diverse forms of magic that spread across multiple different species of plants and animals, there are many ingredients that can be used in potions to create a large variety of effects. Potions aren't as diverse or powerful as Spells, but they are easier to create and don't require as much study.
Alignments:
All Daemos belong to a certain magic type, these are called Alignments. Each alignment has an array of its own special spells, behavior, and features that make Daemos unique from one another. Daemos do not have the ability to cast all known spells, because they are split into alignments. For example, a Nature-aligned Daemos cannot cast a freezing spell whereas a Frost-aligned Daemos can. Some neutral spells can be enhanced with an alignment if it will allow. Hybridization between alignments isn't possible, the offspring of two Daemos with different alignments have a 50/50 chance of inheriting one of their parent’s alignments. (For example if a Flame-aligned and Light-aligned daemos had two offspring together, their children may both be Flame-aligned but there's an equal chance they could have been Light-aligned or one Flame one Light.)
Frost-Aligned:
The laid-back Frost Aligned Daemos have ice magic, very elegant and very beautiful. Ice magic is quite powerful, and fairly uncommon, making it desired amongst higher rankings. Another reason for this is that much like Fire magic, Ice magic can be very dangerous, being able to freeze living things and objects in place; which can kill slowly but humanely. Frost Aligned daemos tend to be pretty heat resistant, due to their naturally lower body temperature.
Flame-Aligned:
Flame-aligned daemos have fire magic, the rarest, most powerful and impressive type of magic among all daemos. Because of this, flame-aligned daemos are considered to be royalty. Fire magic is very deadly, due to the fact it's well- fire. Some of the most complicated and most powerful spells can only be cast by a daemos who possesses fire magic. These daemos have louder personalities which can be a great ally paired with royalty status. Flame-aligned daemos are immune from being burned by their own fire, however any fire that they have not conjured can burn them. Due to a naturally higher body temperature flame-aligned daemos are quite cold hardy, but not immune.
Bolt-Aligned:
Bolt-aligned daemos are very unique, they're the only alignment that have very slight future sight. While it requires training, bolts can predict when storms are brewing due to their high sensitivity to changes in air pressure and the electrons in the atmosphere. Bolts are also quite bright and expressive, making them a popular choice should you want to befriend a daemos. Bolt-aligned daemos are known to be fast and light on their feet, making them formidable fighters. Bolt magic is sometimes confused for Light magic due to their slightly similar appearance, however Bolt magic is far more useful for offensive situations. Still, some consider Bolt magic to be a form of Light magic.
Light-Aligned:
Light-aligned daemos are a common sight in the Daemos Empire, being famous for the breathtaking flashiness of their Magic. Light-aligned daemos have a wide range of spells, but not many are used for offensive maneuvers. Light-aligned daemos tend to be more passive and mellow than the other alignments, hence why spells used for attack are uncommon. If a battle is necessary, Light-aligned daemos will mostly use defensive and illusional magic to protect themselves and to distract their opponent long enough to ambush them. Lights are the only ones that mainly use melee weapons in battle.
Nature-Aligned:
Nature-aligned daemos are very common in urban areas of the daemos kingdoms. Most daemos with this alignment are very knowledgeable about foliage and fauna and rely on ambush hunting and attacking, utilizing their environment. They are masters at stealth and survival, making them highly valued as spies and assassins. These daemos can be quite feisty, matching the wild nature of the wilderness they are familiar with. Nature-aligned daemos are famous for their healing spells, which are far more advanced and efficient than any other alignment. Most daemos who have an interest in or choose to be healers are Nature-aligned.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
At last, I have released yet another Yappening!
I love the daemos, and making headcanons on their magic is so much fun like literally I have a blast each time! I was planning on putting a couple more into this Yappening, but they weren't exactly related to magic itself enough so I'm just going to make a separate Yappening for them! Enjoy the lil doodle of Noi freaking out cause he’s sensing rain incoming, he isn’t trained very well but he can sense small drops in air pressure and when rain is about to fall! This would be before he got his magic drained, otherwise he wouldn't be able to sense anything at all.
Next Yappening: Blazebloods
Goodbye pookies!

Two things we know about Meghan: she never misses a chance to play the victim and she practically wrote Spare. There must be a reason these parts of the book were so vague. by u/so_fkn_dn
Two things we know about Meghan: she never misses a chance to play the victim, and she practically wrote Spare. There must be a reason these parts of the book were so vague. I haven't read Spare first hand, but I recall these two excerpts both including accusations/insults against Meghan but stopping short of saying exactly what they were. My guess is there was truth in those insults, and she purposely kept them hidden to cover her ass while maintaining her victimhood.1. The argument that got Harry to seek therapy"Maybe the wine went to my head. Maybe the weeks of battling the press had worn me down. For some reason, when the conversation took an unexpected turn, I became touchy. Then angry. Disproportionately, sloppily angry. Meg said something I took the wrong way. It was partly a cultural difference, partly a language barrier, but I was also just over-sensitive that night. I thought: Why's she having a go at me? I snapped at her, spoke to her harshly—cruelly. As the words left my mouth, I could feel everything in the room come to a stop [...] She was calm, but said in a quiet, level tone that she would never stand for being spoken to like that. I nodded. She wanted to know where it came from. 'I don't know.' 'Where did you ever hear a man speak like that to a woman? Did you overhear adults speak that way when you were growing up?' I cleared my throat, looked away, 'Yes.'"My take: Since Harry mentioned the press wearing him down, and Meghan asking where he heard a man speaking like that to a woman, I'm guessing something about her past (or a rumour about it) bothered him. Whatever it is, either there's some truth to it, or Harry's not such a feminist ally after all.2. Charles banning Meghan from the Queen's deathbed"Then came another call from Pa. He said I was welcome at Balmoral, but he didn't want…her. He started to lay out his reason, which was nonsensical, and disrespectful, and I wasn't having it. 'Don’t ever speak about my wife that way.' He stammered, apologetic, saying he simply didn't want a lot of people around. No other wives were coming, Kate wasn't coming, he said, therefore Meg shouldn't. 'Then that's all you needed to say.'"My take: Charles accused Meghan of wearing a mic, or something equally shady. For a book that detailed decades-old conversations verbatim, I'd say these omissions are very telling. post link: https://ift.tt/AQ6OjpB author: so_fkn_dn submitted: August 24, 2024 at 10:11AM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit disclaimer: all views + opinions expressed by the author of this post, as well as any comments and reblogs, are solely the author's own; they do not necessarily reflect the views of the administrator of this Tumblr blog. So I was ranting to my mother about ML and how I hate Chat's lack of importance in the narrative and how he constantly gets sidelined, and after going into the details, she joked that Chat is Ladybug's sidekick.
Which got me thinking (always a dangerous affair). How WOULD things change if this wasn't pitched as an equal partnership? If Chat was purposefully given the sidekick label by the narrative and the characters? For argument's sake, let's say that Marinette had some more direct training from Fu before he sent her loose with the miraculous, but Adrien wasn't Discovered TM until after that time period, so Mari is more experienced and also still has more important powers.
I don't think Chat would feel as much resentment about being edged out and not trusted with secrets, because that's not his job anymore. He'd still be a bit salty about being lowkey replaced by the other temps, but nowhere near as much.
But I also think it might make him take more initiative to prove he can be trusted to do and know shit. Nobody, including him, holds the assumption that he's entitled to the same responsibilities and knowledge, so he might be more active and deliberate in showing Ladybug that she can lean on him. It'd encourage more open communication and responsibility from him, but I think it might also make him kind of reckless and desperate by constantly throwing himself at problems before anybody else gets a chance.
I feel like that may take pressure off Ladybug too. Whenever Chat starts to goof off, I don't think she'd feel as put out or upset about it, because it's not immaturity from someone who's supposed to be putting in as much legwork as her, it's someone she's supposed to be mentoring, so I think she'd treat it more like when Alya or Nino do something silly and dumb. Still "Not the Time or Place," but a lot less "You Should Know Better" happening.
It'd probably change the lovesquare up a little bit too. Not by much, since Chat is functionally her sidekick in canon, but it would add a few more parallels between Gabe and Nathalie, which could be fun. I also think that her being his outright teacher would take Chat's idolizing of Ladybug and crank it up to 10, which would kind of put him on par with how Marinette feels about Adrien in the earlier seasons (they both over-idealize each other in canon, but I think Marinette is probably worse about it).
In general, I think an acknowledgement of that dynamic between them might make their relationship less. . .tense, for lack of a better word. Just. A lot of miscommunication and shit might be cleared up if the two of them had different expectations for each other and themselves in the LadyNoir context.
I also think it might open avenues for Chat to do Fun 60s-Robin-Style Sidekick Shenanigans, which would be VERY entertaining, and it would DEFINITELY change up the tones of the New York special and how they interact with UV and Sparrow.
Idk, just interesting thoughts I had after subjecting my mother to my sleep deprived rambling.
So I do wanna address at first like.
This might just be how it's worded, but it makes it sound like Chat only feels /entitled/ to knowing secrets because he's there while doing nothing to prove himself, and also that him 'goofing off' is a constant problem.
Which is quite the opposite. Chat is putting in just as much effort as Ladybug, he's just given the short end of the stick because...... literally no in-universe reason. Like I've seen some people argue 'it's because Mari turned in the Grimoire to Fu while Adrien didn't', but Adrien took the book and was gonna bring it to Ladybug's attention, he didn't know about Fu. Hell, Mari didn't know about Fu at that point! Tikki told her! For some reason Plagg didn't tell Adrien.
He's even stepped up and asked 'hey please give me more responsibility, even if it's something 'minor'!'. Like offering to help Ladybug hand out and recover the Miraculous from the various temps he knows the identities of. He's just shut down and called a hindrance who would fuck it up.
Meanwhile Chat goofing around rarely causes problems. It /can/ of course, but it rarely does. Usually Chat is able to be both silly and effective, and when his silly nature does cause problems he typically backs off and reorients into focus mode.
But also this really highlights how it's so dissonant in the narrative. Chat is sidelined not because there's any in-universe reason for him to be sidelined, but because the writers want to sideline him
Anyway:
While I think some of Adrichat's frustration would be lessened if he was a 'sidekick' character in the first place, I think there'd be less changes and more just a re-contextualizing of the actions. Instead of 'Hey I'm supposed to be your partner but you're treating me like a sidekick(at best)', it's more 'I know I started as your sidekick but I think I've done enough that I should be respected as a long-term teammate who's been here for nearly every fight over the people who have been in less than i can count on one hand'.

Robin and The Golden Guard
WARNING: English is not my first language, I am sorry for any spelling mistakes that may appear below.
Is it just me or do Hunter from TOH and Damian look a bit alike, although I think that's obvious, they both share the “Zuko trope”.
There are a myriad of reasons for this, they were both born and raised in violent environments where their word didn't matter 100% and the mission came first, not to mention that both are sometimes considered clones and there were or are more of “them” out there ( this mostly in Damian's case who no doubt has more brothers/clones out there in the world without him knowing ).
Nor can we forget the previous vision that both had of justice, a distorted and dirty one that was instilled in them because according to their maternal and paternal figures it was the right thing to do and they were doing the right thing, right? well, what a great surprise and regret they had when they realized that they were not doing the right thing.
It's just a small idea of both characters, if both were in the same room I feel they would become friends very easily or a little bit the hard way knowing that Damian's rare talent in making friends with people equally or more traumatized than him.
And it could also be as a small idea of how to handle Damian if they adapt him to a series beyond movies and comics, because the control of his development could not be the same in terms of time to be a different medium of entertainment. But considering that his story would give a lot to show and adapt it would be a difficult issue.
But x what other characters would get along with each other? Maps and Luz?
