i wish we had more info on how constance knew athos before d'artagnan arrived in paris, because it was clear that when she went to the garrison to stop the fight, aramis and porthos met her then for the first time.

did bonacieux get into some trouble once and athos helped him? did athos go to him for some shirts? was constance generally known and he knew her through passing? or was constance a friend to athos when he first came to paris?

if bonacieux was a well known cloth maker, it would make sense people would know his wife but he wasn't! and this was clear in season one when he was struggling for money due to a lack of work

She is brave, caring, independent-minded, loyal, and determined that men aren’t going to have all the fun. She does what she thinks is right, even if it’s dangerous or difficult. She’s ABSOLUTELY GOT THIS. She’s both the garrison mom and one of its fiercest soldiers. She’s a Musketeer!

She's a fully rounded character, absolutely beautiful, and responds to misogyny with "maybe I bring men to fight [my battles]". She's the Queen's confidante and she's so wonderful that she turns down a man's proposal after her husband's death and he just accepts it and wishes her happiness. This fanvid says it best:

Even though her story is different from the book, it's so wonderful to watch her grow and take such an active role.

Constance is one of the best characters of this show - she gets to be so much more than just a love interest and we get to see her as a fully fleshed out person. Her relationship with Anne in particular stands out as really interesting and fun. She is also a badass and gets to take part in adventures and eventually becoming part of the garrison organisation after she gets to marry d'Artagnan. I'm a sucker for a happy ending and for once Constance gets hers.

Meanwhile, M. Bonnacieux has been brought to the Bastille where they're using some classic shock & awe (and a bit of non-descript torturing) to turn him into even more of a whiny, pathetic little piece of garbage than he already is and who will say anything to get out of there.

During his interrogation by a commissaire he claims that he really doesn't know much, except that his wife has been taken by a man he doesn't know the name of (Mystery Man with the scar, for those who haven't been following) but would recognize again.

Bonnacieux is being told that his wife was abducted by d'Artagnan who's been arrested. But when they lead "d'Artagnan" into the room, Bonnacieux identifies the prisoner as Athos (whose stoic snark drives his captors up the walls, bless him.)

The commissaire doesn't believe either of them. Athos is thrown back into the dungeons to nurse his morose attitude a bit more, and Bonnaciex is transported across Paris, past several execution sites until he passes out from fear and peeing his pants. (Nobody cares.)
