Onir gives a befitting reply to Karan who lamented producers on the change of release date for Merry Christmas

Monday was a big day for Bollywood as so much happened in one single day.  The makers of Merry Christmas announced the release date of the movie whereas producer Karan Johar criticized and ranted about the film clashing with each other. for the uninitiated, Katrina Kaif starrer film Merry Christmas’s release date is clashing with Karan Johar's production Yodha and Karan is upset about it. talking on a social media platform Thread, Karan lamented studios and producers for forgetting film ethics as he said “without the courtesy of a phone call.” 

It is now filmmaker Onir that have offered a befitting reply to Karan’s rant.

Onir took to Twitter where he said, “Big Bollywood releases get so upset when there is another big budget release the same day and they talk about how we should all care for each other in the industry, but don't think for a second when they deprive a small budget indie film of a tiny number of good shows to survive.”

the entire post from Karan is as follows,  “Clashing on a date without the courtesy of a phone call is hopefully not the way forward for the studios and producers …. If we don’t stand united in these tough and challenging theatrical days then calling us a fraternity is futile.”

the remark from Onir is a veiled reply to Karan’s post. the two movies i.e. Yodha and Merry Christmas are from two different genres and both are set to release in theatres on December 15.

Poorna Jagannathan has made a great name for herself in Hollywood. She will be soon seen in the concluding season of Never Have I Ever. In a recent interview, she opened up about her career in India and how she was bidden a farewell after Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani which was her last film in Bollywood.

The actress also talked about the film completing 10 years and how she did not get many offers after the completion of the film. when asked why she wasn’t seen in Bollywood much, the actress said, "Yeah, I know. It’s been 10 years of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. I mean, literally, Bollywood hasn’t come calling. It said goodbye to me, and then the phone hasn’t been [ringing].”

she spilled a lot of beans about the movie and said, "Yes, we were on a boat. We were filming on a boat. It’s in France. There’s limited time on the boat. Like they’re not sure you need three more hours. We’ll give him like, it’s limited time. The script is not written. They are writing the script on the boat. It’s like in Hindi and I need time with Hindi. My mother tongue is Tamil, not even Hindi. They’re just like [trying to write]. It was so funny… I was with Ranbir (Kapoor) that day. It was so funny and so scary. And, you know, Ayan is just writing, as we go along, it was so typically Bollywood and then I remember meeting Ayan at the beginning. He’s like, listen, ‘I haven’t written the end’. Like he has gotten the money. He’s got financing. The locations are closed. We’re filming. He’s like, ‘I haven’t written the end. I was like, how is this working? Or just come together and then it turned out to be the highest-grossing movie in history. That’s incredible."

The movie completed its one decade of release last week and director Ayan Mukherjee took to Instagram the pictures from the reunion party of the film. he wrote "Last night (red heart emoji)” as he posted the picture which showcases, Ranbir, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapor, Kalki Koechlin, Karan Johar, Pritam, and Manish Malhotra among others.
