I understand the sentiment of "i don't care if x movie/TV show is historically accurate" ex Bridgerton like I really do. Not everyone is a history buff, and sometimes historical accuracy will be sacrificed for story elements. But I just wish it was consistent. Like don't tell me you're going with the historical authenticity route (especially to the point that its a big plot or narrative element) in one instance and then disregard it at another point in the story, because then it's narratively inconsistent and takes me out of the immersion.

not to be goth on main but yes blackbeard is an armor for Ed but every time I see it implied by someone that the leather daddy punk look is going to be abandoned when he gives up the blackbeard thing I lose days off of my life. No you fucking idiots he's just punk. He likes the goth accoutrements. The fuckeries and the aesthetics are the only redeeming parts of the job for him right now. He's one of those over the top goths who switches between which alt aesthetic they're going with three times a year because he gets bored and goes absolutely overboard for Halloween every year. Just because he's playing around with colors right now doesn't mean shit he's just decided pastel goth is in this spring and he's gonna paint his nails pink about it. If he lived in the modern era he would not have a consistent hair color. This is like 50% of the theory behind my pinned post. Yeah he was an old school punk in the 90s but he's changing with the times and he's gonna get a gir tattoo and a zebra bang clip in because he enjoys things that are cringe. The skulls and the spirit halloween curtains aren't going anywhere just because his new boyfriend's aesthetic is a little bit more barbie dream house. He's incorporating new things along with the old things which he also likes.
