In addition to keeping up with his old Trainer, King also keeps up with the rest of the "main team" from that time. Since I've decided that King and his Pawniards are based in Alola, that means that the old team are Amphitrite the Primarina, Blue the East Gastrodon, Dana the Flareon, Spike the Crobat, and Coconut the Alolan Exegguttor.

Their old Trainer really favored Water-types, so Dana was almost a Vaporeon, but King and Blue snuck out to get Dana the Fire Stone she wanted instead. Their Trainer was baffled but accepted that Dana wanted to be a Flareon.

Actually all my pokemon opinions are simply that

1.) All pokemon that are "Cool" or "Badass" should be taller than me

2.) The Eeveelutions should be roughly cat/fox sized

And 3.) Clodsire is cuddle-able

Mainline Pokémon Games Based on How Buggy They Are: A Thread

Red, Blue, & Yellow

Pretty buggy. The Butterfree line set the stage for regional bugs and emotional trauma. Everybody loves Scyther. Inspired use of Cordyceps when designing the Parasect line. Kabuto and Kabutops should have been Bug to honor trilobites for founding Arthropoda. 8/10.

Gold, Silver, & Crystal

Yes, we had Scyther, but what about second Scyther? Scizor, Heracross, and Shuckle are legends. Game Freak decided to invite arachnids (Spinarak and Ariados) to the party, truly redefining what it means to be buggy. 9/10.

Ruby, Sapphire, & Emerald

This generation is loaded with bugs! Game Freak realized their mistake in not giving the Kabutops line Bug typing, making up for it with Anorith and Armaldo (who are based on Anomalocaris). They fumble the recovery, however, in not only depriving the Flygon line of Bug typing, but forever making them second fiddle to the Salamence line. The Beautifly, Dustox, and Ninjask lines introduce some interesting approaches to Bug-type evolution. Volbeat and Illumise are there. 7.8/10.

Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum

DELELELELELEWHOOOOOOP! A smaller collection of bugs this gen, but a well-rounded one. Vespiquen slays. Scorpions get some love via Skorupi, Drapion, and Gliscor. Writing this post is making me realize that slugs, snails, and nudibranchs like the Magcargo and Gastrodon lines aren’t bugs. We grew up thinking snails were bugs, right? Anyway, Yanmega rules. 8/10.

Black, White, Black 2, White 2

Game Freak’s magna opera. Truly the buggiest games there are. While you have to wait until Pinwheel Forest to encounter your first bugs, you’re rewarded upon arrival with Sewaddle and Venipede, the larvae of the Leavanny and Scolipede lines. From there, you encounter the Crustle, Galvantula, and Volcarona lines. Game Freak has some more fun with Bug evolutions, having Karrablast steal Shelmet’s armor as they evolve into Escavalier and Accelgor (inspired by the real-world interactions between the ground beetle family Carabidae and the gastropods they feed on). Durant is our first proper ant, and we get our first (and only . . . ) legendary / mythical Bug in Genesect. These games made Bug my favorite type. 10/10.

X & Y

A big step down from the previous generation. This game hardly has any bugs. Do you like butterflies? You get a butterfly. Vivillon is a lovely butterfly that comes in all sorts of colors, but SURELY there are more bugs than that in France. 6/10.

Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon

Giant isopods! Diving bell spiders! Giraffe stag beetles! A true return to form. While the native bugs of Alola are great, we are also introduced to the ultra beasts, two of which (Buzzwole and Pheromosa) are really cool bugs. It seems they were going for wasps and bee flies when designing the Naganadel and Ribombee lines, but they don’t really work for me. Faint blemishes on an otherwise buggy generation. 8.5/10.

Sword & Shield

Centiskorch is the greatest Pokémon ever made. I have them tattooed on my arm. Blipbug is the worst Pokémon ever made. I see them in my nightmares. Interesting that they’re both Bug Pokémon, and that Game Freak really min-maxed with them. Fortunately, Blipbug evolves into Dottler and Orbeetle, who are great. Snom has a place in everyone’s heart, and Frosmoth is elegant as can be. 9.5/10.

Scarlet & Violet

I love Rellor and Rabsca! I . . . don’t really love the rest! Iron Moth and Slither Wing are great, but they’re nepo babies. Tarountula and Nymble are nice, but Spidops and Lokix leave something to be desired. Orthworm is a a big worm. At the end of the day, these games would be alright if they weren’t so wonkily coded and glitchy. Wish there was a better word for that. 7/10.

If I were a Pokémon gym leader...

-SPECIALTY: Water Type💦

-OUTFIT: It may not have much to do with my element, but these clothes are similar to the ones I usually wear. Not all gym leaders wear outfits that are related to their types. Plus, they have blue all over them. If anything, you can imagine I'm wearing a swimming suit underneath.

-AESTHETIC (MY VIBES): I may be a water type specialist, but that doesn't mean I spend all day doind activities related to it. I actually prefer to stay at home and chill. However, I do enjoy swimming and it helps that I live next to the sea.

-BATTLEFIELD: Since I couldn't come up with my favorite field, you can look at these examples I found on the Internet and picture it in your mind. All in all, there would be a huge inner pool with different depth levels, with also some space to fight out of the water.

-TEAM:

Draco, the Gyarados. Having one always does you good. The name speaks for itself.

Georgina, the Araquanid. I really like it and wanted some Alola representation. I once had an araquanic in one of my lockes in Pokemon Indigo, so I wanted to honor her here.

Angel, the Lapras. I was gonna pick Milotic but this one can gigantamax so... The name has no explanation. A pretty name for a pretty creature.

Babosa, the Gastrodon. Same. Swampert was going to be in this spot, but I already had chosen one starter. For those who don't know, 'babosa' literally translates into slug.

Pancho, the Ludicolo. The 'lightning rod' pokemon. I think his name needs not a translation.

Alejandro, the Quaquaval. My starter because I like the design and I'm Spanish, and the name because I love Lady Gaga.

-BADGE: Yeah, I know what you're thinking. I had no imagination left at this point.

When I was a kid in Canalave, my mom's gastrodon kept climbing out of the pool at night. She'd be out for days and then come back—scared us the first few times, but she always came back so we thought she was okay. One time she was gone for a month and we were worried she'd been washed out to sea. Then a pokemon center in Pastoria called—they found her in the marsh with an eastern gastrodon mate! She'd been sneaking out to see him and they had a big pile of little shellos. Some blue, some pink.<3

Hey there. Ya got any Goodra facts?

Yup! Goodra is one of my favorite dragon types, and I have one which I love dearly. I'm really glad you asked about them!

Goodra Facts

-The scientific name for the Goodra line is "Glaucus limus" which roughly translates to, "Blue-green slime"

-Goodra are actually Gastropods, making then related to pokemon like Gastrodon and Mcargo

-Goodra's slime isn't just for show; the slime protects their sensitive skin from dirt and grime that might get on them, which the slime washes away. Goodra covering their trainers in slime might be an attempt to clean them. (headcanon from @xain-russell ). The slime is also used to keep them moist when out of swampy areas

-As well as that, Goodra can also breathe through their skin, and the slime makes it easier to absorb oxygen. 

-The Goodra line is highly valued for their slime, leading it to sell for really high prices at shops. But this has led for illegal breeding companies, who have poor working conditions and have been known to treat Goodra very badly, as their only purpose is to produce slime. The slime can be turned into medicine

-Goodra are very social pokemon and have been known to seek out other members of their line to live with. This can be a problem, however, since members of the Goodra line are very rare to find in the wild. To combat this, Goodra will often befriend and live with other pokemon

-While Goomy and Sligoo usually live in swamps, while Goodra tend to live in caves

-Research shows that ancient Goodra used to be poison types

-A common joke in midevial Kalos showed of brave knights fighting weak Goomy. With this however, there came a fairytale of a knight training with a Goomy until it evolved into Goodra, and became a very powerful knight itself

-Goodra lost their shells due to environmental changes, but they still have the gene for them. It just isn't active (headcanon from @nerdpokemonheadcanons )

-Goodra toungues are pointed at the ends and have tiny spikes on them

-They have a lot more teeth than you would think, but plenty of them of them are hidden and very, very, very small. They have up to 14,000 teeth, which are located in a part of their mouth known as the Radula

-The feelers are very sensitive, and still hold all 5 senses. They can still smell through their nose and taste through their mouth though

-Because of their really social nature Goodra often form polygamous relationships, and care for their partners deeply (My Goodra has tried to court members of my party, but sadly, they weren't interested)

-Goodra are very protective of their eggs, and will protect them with their life. It becomes a shock to a lot of people over how aggressive they can get

-Goodra will coat their eggs in slime to make them less appealing to predators

-Goodra can't breathe underwater, but they can hold their breaths for up to two hours

-To show happiness, Goodra will make a squealing noise similar to a hum

-Despite being cold blooded, Goodra don't fully freeze or go into a hibernation in the winter. They will however, become a lot slower and sleep more often

-Goodra that live in swamps eat leaves and grass, while Goodra that live in caves will lick the salt off of rocks, small stones, and sometimes decaying bodies. Their bodies can digest almost anything

-Goodra appeared in a popular children's cartoon known as Dragon Tales

-A lot of old Galarian artwork shows Goodra as a ferocious beast, but this wasn't even remotely the case. The depictions most likely came from the Galarians fear of Dragon Types
