Cheetahs are naturally anxious animals. Actually, they are so anxious that in captivity they must have support dogs so that they can socialize with other animals. Chigiri was never one for socializing and simply wanted to get to the top as fast as possible in whatever he did. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that when he got injured he closed himself away from everybody.

You had known each other ever since he entered middle school and so seeing him suddenly get so anxious as his sister brings you over was a new, if not surprising, development.

If anything, you thought all the growth and work you did to be his friend was in vain with the way he stared through you and refused to speak to you. It actually broke your heart a little to see that the effort you took to befriend him, all your one-sided conversations, your bad attempts at doing football, and even trading homework answers all went down the drain. You understood why, but it still hurt. Perhaps a little part of you had a crush on him, though you'd sooner die than admit it.

However, even though you were absolutely sure he hated your guts his sister convinced you to stay around at least until he healed. Obviously, you found his silence and glaring uncomfortable, especially since coming to the realization you liked him, but you eventually got used to it. It was different from the Chigiri you knew but you still cared for him. Even if it made your heart squeeze and cry over the fact he likely, probably, hated you, it didn't make you like him any less. You kind of hated him for it.

What you didn't know was how much he looked forward to his sister bringing you home after school so that you could help him with his physical therapy. That you were his only friend after he got injured and it meant so much to him that you just stayed.

Or that ever since he got injured all he could really think about besides football was you and overthinking every little thing you two did together. Trying to find something, anything, that hinted towards you liking him. Because he'd rather give up and die than be without you at this point.

That he always stuck next to you when you were around and how his anxiety and pains felt irrelevant when you were with him. How he would miss you the moment you left, his sister teasing him about his 'puppy crush'. How all he could really think about as he finally stepped back onto the grass with a newly constructed leg was getting you back.

Many cheetahs require their support dog and usually connect with them for life. Chigiri is no different. And even if he has to fight for that affection back, he isn't one to half-ass anything he is passionate about.

no more fics of jeremy apologizing for the bathroom scene. he was totally justified for most of the scene btw. "maybe i got lucky, is that so weird? i'd say with my history the universe owed me one." don't make jeremy take that back. you know deep down he means those words more than anything. make him apologize for calling michael a loser and every other hurtful thing he did but do not make him apologize for wanting to move forward with his life!! his methods ≠ motivations. yes he kinda did it all in a really bad way but he is not obliged to stay with michael forever. if he wants to move forward onto a life without michael then he literally can. bmc bathroom scene i love you... ppl only ever talk about the loser scene and brush off what jeremy is actually saying and it sucks so bad he just wants to feel like his life isn't shit for once and that he actually has control in it. is that so bad. friends don't stay friends forever guys sorry sometimes you're the one holding your friend back from their true potential sorry sorryyyyy and it's not like that's to say that they have to stop being friend forever it's just. i'm sure jeremy only ever thinks of himself as this attachment to michael. always stuck in his shadow, player 2, michael's friend, etc. and he can never actually grow into his own person if he just lets himself stay there. if michael keeps him there. not to pull a completely seperate media into this but nozomi and mizore from liz and the blue bird rlly. show what i'm trying to say here .

alright !! thank you for taking the time to read my silly recommendation :D before we begin i'd just like to say i really hope this doesn't come off as weird at all, i just really love meadowlark :3

and some of this might be wrong !! PLEASE correct me if i said anything incorrect !

so, what's meadowlark?

meadowlark is the world in which four children sing tales of fables to all that will hear them. they tell stories of the harkers, who are "concepts" in a way. they are the storyteller, the bell-ringer, the croon and the enkindled. yaelokre is the name of the creator and story as a whole, and the author and singer behind the story is known as Keath, a splendidly talented artist who truly loves their work.

the lark

the lark consists of the aforementioned children:

cole (represents the storyteller)

clémentne/clémentine/clémmie (represents the bell-ringer)

perrine (represents the croon)

kingsley (represents the enkindled)

all of the children are genderless, and do not use gendered terms. they all use they/it pronouns and it is best to respect yaelokre's wishes for their characters. i do believe cole and clémentine are dating (or something romantic), as there is official art of them kissing, though i don't know the details...

the young minstrels are good friends and enjoy preforming their songs together. each one has a distinct voice, design, and personality traits. each one of them is crafted so beautifully, you can see yaelokre put work into them :D

the songs

the tales of meadowlark are told through songs, and goodness, are they amazing. i have never reacted so positively to a song myself, but bird cage blue and yellow makes me so happy :) i do hope yaelokre knows that at least one person enjoys their music as much as i <3
