BLESS YOU ♥
who is the big spoon/little spoonLook, I know it’s fanon that Abby is the big spoon, and tbh I think her ideal sleeping position is just being completely sprawled on top of Marcus for maximum “LET ME LOVE YOU” capacity, so I agree with you - but I also think she really likes letting herself feel smol in his big, protective arms. More importantly, I think it’s important to Marcus to feel like he can protect her. That said - there are definitely nights where she comes to bed and he gives her That Look™ and she just sighs and climbs in behind him and squeezes away his sad.Either way, it’s definitely Abby calling the shots, telling Marcus that either she needs to be cuddled or he does. There’s no arguing it. what is their favorite non-sexual activityGossiping about the kids. They do it every night before bed - dishing about who seems to have taken a liking to who, who’s gotten in trouble for what; reflecting on who these kids were on the Ark and who they are now (there’s a lot of “who’da thunk”); arguing over “they get that from me, you know” “oh, is that what you think?” - and basically just reveling in this absurd, extraordinary family and future they’ve stumbled into.
who uses all the hot water in the morningMarcus. Ever since they finally found a way to consistently source water and soap, he’s been so relieved to finally be able to scrub away every ounce of dirt from his skin each morning. He’s meticulous about it. And this isn’t even factoring in that he often gets lost in his own thoughts while he’s cleaning himself - its happened more than once that the hot water has run out before he’s even done. Thankfully, he does wake up way before Abby does; so when that happens, he makes sure to run to the mess hall to grab a coffee for her - so she won’t be too mad at him.what they order from take outTalking Modern AU here, yes? Okay. So. Abby is a great many things, but she’s not an inspired cook, nor is she particularly adventurous in her tastes - she’s perfectly happy with a nice, cheesy pepperoni pizza. She thinks the Americanized version of Chinese food is exotic. This is something Marcus is determined to rectify - slowly expanding her palate by introducing her to the foods of less Western cultures. She likes Thai (as long as it’s not too spicy - Marcus is the sriracha king), and doesn’t mind Korean (she can’t quite get behind the concept of kimchi), but they avoid Indian because Marcus just gets too embarrassed when she only ever orders Butter Chicken. They’re both nerds for Lebanese food, though, and get a kick out of kissing each other with outrageous garlic breath.  what is the most trivial thing they fight overWhether or not to make the bed. Marcus thinks it’s a good habit, a good way to start the day on an organized note - Abby doesn’t see the point, if it’s only going to be messed up later anyways. It especially frustrates him because he knows she’s so meticulous about everything else in her life - Medical is always the epitome of perfection - and still doesn’t understand, even though she’s tried to explain several times that now that she doesn’t have to set an example for Clarke anymore, her bed is the one place she can just unwind. Marcus doesn’t quite know what “unwind” even means.who does most of the cleaningSee above, tbh. Marcus is a good little house husband. Abby does help with the bigger jobs, though, especially cleaning their bathroom - and takes a little too much joy in pointing out when he’s left a shaving or two in the sink.what has a season pass in their DVRMarcus is a huge History Channel nerd. Abby perpetually yells at him for taking up so much space - “Are you really going to watch every episode of Ancient Aliens?” “It’s just neat, okay!!!” He loves the Planet Earth and Cosmos series. When he’s not watching docuseries, though, he’s a big ol’ Sorkin fan. Especially The West Wing. Abby is a huge Shonda Rimes stan. She will watch literally everything with her name on it. She also has a soft spot for reality TV, and Marcus knows that when it’s Bachelor time, he can go do work in another room and wait for her to inevitably amble in afterward with a twinkle in her eye. If he can suffer through that hour, he knows it’s gonna be a damn good night. Both of them love The Good Wife and make a night of watching it, complete with popcorn.who controls the netflix queueMarcus, I guess? As mentioned above, he’s a huge fan of documentaries. I also feel like he’s the most prone to binging - Abby is a casual TV viewer. She can watch one episode of something and then not pick it up again until months later. Marcus, on the other hand, can be lost for a whole weekend - Abby has to remind him to eat.who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not workingAbby, after letting Marcus try to argue either that they’d save money by just layering up anyway or that he could fix it himself (only to forget for a week that he said so; and then, faced with actually fixing it, realizing he’s embarrassingly uneducated on the fundamentals of heating systems).who leaves their stuff aroundAbby may be less particular about her living space than Marcus, but Marcus is definitely the one perpetually leaving his keys on the table, his coffee on the counter, his radio on its charger, etc. Abby calls him up while he’s on his way to work and he just sighs and goes “again?”who remembers to buy the milkMarcus, because he’s usually the one who gets swindled into cooking dinner. who remembers anniversariesMarcus. That’s not to say that Abby ever completely forgets, she’s got things like “First Kiss” and “First I Love You” written in her agenda, but she doesn’t make a big deal of it. Marcus, on the other hand, takes full advantage of the opportunity to celebrate his love for his queen. He books restaurants months in advance, listens for little hints of gifts she’d like, things she’d like to do. He remembers things she said years ago, before they were even together. Abby feels a little guilty that she isn’t as extravagant about these things, but knows that he would be giddy if she even just gave him a piece of half-assed macaroni art on crumpled paper. Her Marcus is just that big of a nerd for her. ♥
