EMMYS 2019: Zendaya, Ava, #Exonerated5, Regina King, Viola Davis & All Your TV Faves Bring The GLAM On The Red Carpet
The stars aligned at this year's EMMY Awards held at the Microsoft Theater in L.A. to honor the hottest television stars of the year. The red carpet was filled with melanin and we've rounded up all their looks. More inside...
Each year, the Television Academy brings all the hottest television stars under one roof for a celebration of all the TV shows that kept us entertained throughout the year. The 2019 EMMY Awards went down at the Microsoft Theater where tons of celebs stepped out to soak in the festivities, whether they were up for an award, there to show support for a co-star, or there to support their own show.
Our girl Zendaya killed it in her new role on HBO’s “Euphoria,” however, the series didn’t scoop up any nominations this year because it premiered after the EMMYs eligibility had already passed. We def expect to see the show scoop up nominations next year because it was one of the most watched and talked about shows over the summer.
The 23-year-old actress/activist served up old Hollywood glam in a sexy emerald Vera Wang gown that showed just enough skin, yet elegant at the same time. She went back to her red tresses and the soft waves were a perfect touch to complete her look.
The #Exonerated5 def deserved to be in the building as their docu-series shook the world when it premiered on Netflix. The Exonerated 5 (formerly known at the Central Park 5), including Antron McCay, Raymond Santana, Kevin Richardson, Korey Wise and Yusef Salaam - hit the carpet alongside "When They See Us" director Ava DuVernay.
"When They See Us" star Jharrel Jerome nabbed his first EMMY for his portrayl of Korey Wise.
The fab directress - who was nominated for two awards - kept with her signature fairy godmother look when she hit the carpet in a sparkly, jeweled Reem Acra gown.
"When They See Us" star Asante Blackk - rocking custom Tommy x Zendaya - brought his mother Aiyana Blackk along his date.
FUN FACT: " The Handmaid’s Tale" actress Samira Wiley is Asante's aunt!
Three-time EMMY winner Regina King served up goddess vibes in custom Jason Wu.
EMMY winner Viola Davis - who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series - pushed through in black and white Alberta Ferretti gown. Come though 'fro!
The fab actress was accompanied by her husband Julius Tennon, per usual. She's currently filming The Suicide Squad, which is expected to be released in 2021.
Mahershala Ali - who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or a Movie - kept it dapper in Zegna Couture as he posed with wife Amatus Sami Karim on the carpet.
The "True Detective" actor has been nominated for two EMMY awards total.
If you haven't heard, Mahershala has landed the lead role in Marvel Studios' upcoming Blade reboot.
#BlackLove was in the building for the awards festivities.
Two-time EMMY winner Sterling K. Brown got dressed up in a Brioni suit and his wife/actress Ryan Michelle Bathe rocked a blue off-the-shoulder Zac Posen gown as they posed it up together on the carpet.
"Empire" star Terrence Howard says he's retiring from acting after he wraps up filming the final season of "Empire." He was tapped to present an award alongside his "Empire" co-star Taraji P. Henson.
The Hollywood actor brought his wife Miranda Pak along as his date.
We see you Terrence.
"black-ish" actor Anthony Anderson - who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series - and his wife Alvina Stewart served up coupledom vibes on the carpet. The couple was headed towards divorce last year, but they have patched things up, and are all wrapped up in love again.
LGTBQ represented!
"Orange Is The New Black" actress Laverne Cox is always repping for her community. She accessorized her dramatic Monsoori gown with an Edie Parker clutch in honor of an upcoming civil rights Supreme Court Case named, Title VII. It's set for October 8th.
Hello sunshine!
Comedian Nicole Byer rocked this bright yellow Christian Siriano gown to let everyone know she was in the building. Love the clutch.
As for another bright look...
"This Is Us" actress Faithe Herman won the EMMYs red carpet in a yellow, ruffled one-shouldered Mia Bambina Boutique dress, paired with Nina shoes and Macys jewelry.
The 10-year-old actress snapped it up with her "This Is Us" co-star Eris Baker. Cute!
There was more yellow on the carpet...
TV host Julissa Bermudez was in the mix to represent present Will Packer's "Central Ave" at the EMMY Awards, stlying in a yellow Fouad Sarkis Couture gown. Werk!
"Central Ave" will get a 5-week test run starting, November 4th on select Fox TV stations.
We're obsessed!
"This Is Us" actress Lyric Ross made her first EMMYs appearance in a strapless printed Rubin Singer gown and Kenneth Cole shoes.
Both Randall Petersons from "This Is Us" hit the carpet. Stars Niles Fitch and Lonnie Chavis were the cutest in their suits.
View this post on Instagram
#JoieChavis accompanied her little nephew, #ThisIsUs star #LonnieChavis, to tonight's #Emmys.
A post shared by TheYBF (@theybf_daily) on Sep 22, 2019 at 6:22pm PDT
Joie Chavis - who shares children with Bow Wow & Future - accompanied her nephew on the carpet.
"This Is Us" season premieres tomorrow, September 24th at 9/8c on ABC.
"Saturday Night Live" comedienne Maya Rudolph rocked a dress from The Vampire's Wife collection.
"Queer Eye" star Karamo Brown served up high fashion on the red carpet, rocking Versace from head-to-toe. The reality star posed it up alongside his "Queer Eye" co-stars Bobby Berk, left, Tan France, and Antoni Porowski. Their co-star Jonathan Van Ness was notably missing.
"Queen Sugar" Omar J. Dorsey hit the carpet in a tailored suit.
"SNL" star Kenan Thomas brought his wife Christina Evangeline as his date for the evening.
Fab times!
In case you missed, see MORE of our EMMY coverage where Billy Porter makes HIStory, RuPaul rakes up another EMMY, Taraji P. Henson's pink and red flex, Niecy Nash's BOMB 'fit, Jharrel Jerome's first EMMY win and MORE.

It turns out that now they have some free time, definitely not under the most comfortable circumstances but still we now have plenty of free time. And one of the major problems that we have right now is that we do not have much to do in this free time.
But don’t worry, We got you covered in these hard times, Here are some useful things that will help you be productive in this lockdown.
Useful Things To Do in Lockdown
What to do at home amid lockdown?
Many people from the working class already have themselves sorted with Work from Home but what about people who do not have anything productive?
Before doing any of these make sure you sanitize your phone properly. We already have written a decent tutorial to do so, make sure you follow that: How to Sanitize Your Phone in 5 Easy Steps
Here are somethings that you should definitely try:
Learn a new Language
With my personal experience, I can say that it feels so good to learn a new language and then flaunt it in front of your friends. And on successful completion of this task, your friends will definitely get shocked when you will greet them not by saying hello but saying Hola! That’d be so much fun. And being multilingual will definitely be good on your skills resume.

[Fuente]

Schitt’s Creek Gets Its First Emmy Nods, and Other Highlights From This Year’s Nominations
Emmy nominations in recent years have become a bit of a drill, with Game of Thrones, Veep, Better Caul Saul and This Is Us predictably scooping up most of the nods. This year, though, had some wildcard energy, with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences nominating a bunch of fresh names and faces: Natasha Lyonne’s Russian Doll got some love, as did Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag (all five of its leading/supporting/guest actresses got noms but Andrew Scott’s Hot Priest didn’t, which, blasphemy!), and Ava DuVernay’s When They See Us. Beloved Canadian sitcom Schitt’s Creek FINALLY got its due, with nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series, Contemporary Costumes, and nods for both Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara.
Read on for the full list of 2019 nominees, who in just a few months will start gearing up for Moira Rose’s favourite season.

Flattery will get you everywhere
For my dearest friend @ssirius-blackk, in response to fanfiction trope mashup: https://meridelclarke.tumblr.com/post/174003758104/fanfiction-trope-mash-up
The prompt was 66. It’s not you it’s my enemies and 69. Flirting under fire (I chose to take this literally)
It’s not exactly what I wanted and I don’t feel like it’s as solid as it could be, but I hope you enjoy! (sorry it got so abominably long yeesh)
It’s like this— Garcia is, unarguably, one of the hottest men Lucy has ever seen. She’d have to be blind, deaf, and possibly incapable of coherent thought to ignore that. She recognized Garcia as startlingly attractive from the first moment they met. (Guiltily realized.) And now, they are on the same team. Under the same roof. Passing in the hallways and sleeping in each other’s rooms. And Lucy intimately knows that he is stunning. (She feels just as guilty. But more in a “you’re my coworker and this is probably inappropriate”, rather than in a “you’re a murdering psycho that I chase around in a time machine” sort of way.)
So, considering Garcia’s obvious, unavoidable attractiveness, she has— maybe, perhaps, possibly— slipped up a few times and flirted with him. The first time, it’s small and insignificant. Something you could say to a friend. (As if Garcia and her had ever been friends. They went from sworn enemies to reluctant allies to the queen and king of UST so fast it makes her head spin.) And it begins with him reciting history facts, which is, unsurprisingly, her weakness.

storm in a bottle
A short drabble with drunk Lucy babbling about her totally non-existent feelings for Flynn that came up while talking to @ssirius-blackk. (@ the bechdel test, I am so sorry. Really, I am.)
Jiya has good alcohol. Very, very, very good alcohol. Lucy’s not going to ask what it is, where it’s from, or how drunk it’s going to get her. She’s just going to drink Jiya’s very good alcohol and try not to think about all the- she internally waves away her numerous, numerous, numerous time-related problems- bad stuff.
“So…” Rufus begins, and before he can even edge one word out, Lucy kicks him in the shin as a reprimand. “No shop talk,” she says imperiously. “Only… nice topics.” “Ow,” Rufus grumbles. “Not like there’s a lot of those to go around.” “You two.” Lucy points at them, or at least she thinks she does– there’s a few Rufus’ and Jiya’s floating about with the ratty couch they’re perched on. “You two are nice. So sweet.” She coos the last part and Jiya laughs, while Rufus looks uncomfortable. “I wish, I wish Wyatt and I could just…” She flaps her hand at them. “Be as easy as you two. But we always seem to talk shop, or just… fall together when it’s all going wrong. There’s nothing else… in common, feels like. Y'know?”
“Uhm, I’m not sure I’m comfortable discussing my friend and–” Rufus begins, but is bulldozed by Lucy’s drunk determination to speak her mind. “I mean, we’re friends I guess, but I feel like if I had met Wyatt in a bar, he wouldn’t have given me the time of day. Brainiac is not his usual type. I’m not his usual type. And honestly?? He’s not mine. I mean… don’t get me wrong, his face is sooo handsome. And those muscles don’t hurt… and his eyes are perfectly blue…” She drifts for a moment, lost in her imagination. “But?” Jiya prompts, sensing there’s more. “But, I can only talk about the war aspect of history so much, and he can only listen to me ramble about history he doesn’t find interesting so much, and I can only listen to him talk about the military and NASCAR and sports so much– it’s not that he’s not a good conversationalist, he is, but we don’t have enough shared interests. I have more in common with Garcia for Christ’s sake.” Jiya’s interest immediately perks, Rufus can practically feel her curiosity thrumming beside him. “Uhh, guys,” he starts, but Jiya hops over his protests on her merry quest to dig blackmail dirt out of drunk Lucy. “Garcia, huh,” she says, as if she’s truly mulling it over and not baiting the hell out of Lucy. “I mean… I guess? I don’t really see it.”
