2023 PJO/HoO Big Bang!

Hey guys!

Thanks for the outstanding turnout last year. Welcome to the annual PJO/HOO Big Bang event!

Right now, our rough timeline is to run the event from early July to the beginning of October. This has been adjusted from last year by a few weeks, so make sure to take note!

Additionally, as there are only a few mods available right now, we’d like to add more mods to the team to help us run the event! Let us know if you have any questions.

Eddie can ignore it. He’s a fucking pro at ignoring it actually. Biting down on the honey laced words that want to fall from his lips and wiping away every expression coated in his lovesick heart and pulling back from every intimate touch he wants to prolong.

Having Buck as his friend has always been enough and it always will be, so everything else pales in comparison. He can yearn and ache and long and love until the ground swallows him up for the last time and doesn’t give him back. It’s nothing he hasn’t been doing for years. It’s certainly not something new or foreign.

After all, Eddie may be getting better at wanting things for himself and being okay with that, but actually having is another thing entirely.

The having is more difficult. The having is elusive and unknown. And the keeping? The maintenance of it and the nurturing of it and the whole not ruining something so much that it runs away from him? Yeah, he has no idea where to begin with any of that.

Here's my piece for Our Shared Past by @hauntedhikingsociety , a story about the Professor visiting Dimitri after the events of Unwound Future, and interesting discussions they have together as the months go by :) i really recommend it !! 🎩🔬 This was drawn for the @proflaytonbigbang 2024 event, and it was a joy for me to participate in a fandom event around this dearly beloved franchise <3

[ID : Professor Layton fancomic where Hershel Layton visits an incarcerated Dimitri Allen. The comic layout shows a big establishing panel on top of the page followed by two rows of three panels each under it. The big panel shows Hershel taking a chair to join an already seated Dimitri, the two men in the middle of a discussion around a prison table. A jaded Dimitri says "Fine, since we've established we're both busy men, I'd suppose it'de be a waste of time to spend out whole day arguing." Hershel answers "I thought we established that I'm a busy man", the "I" part of his sentence in highlight. Dimitri hand-waves the remark with a sparse "Details". Panel 2 shows a relaxed Hershel sitting down, gamely answering "Besides, I can think of bigger wastes of time than arguing with you". In panel 3 Dimitri leans back in his chair and rolls his eyes at him, answering with a smirk "Good lord Hershel, what a romantic you are." Panel 4 is shaped like an exclamation bubble and showcases a surprised Hershel sputtering "R-romantic ?", his face a shade pinker than before. The three bottom panels show Dimitri going from surprised to panicked to mortified in response to Hershel's embarrassment, the both of them realizing their banter developed an unintentional flirting tone. Dimitri's blank stare of surprise transforms into a flustered look in the penultimate panel as he starts clarifying "I-I only meant !", before interrupting himself. The blush appearing on his cheeks finally spreads to his face and neck in the last panel, where he slouches over the table and hides his face in his hand, sighing and adding "You know I'm no good at talking". You are welcome to fill in more than one form, and you can sign up to be an Artist and/or Beta Reader for multiple projects. Please do consider the commitment that you are making though! While we will be running Pinch Hitter sign ups later on to fill in any gaps from drop outs - it's much easier for continuity if that doesn't have to happen.

When you submit the form you'll see a link to our discord which we encourage you to join, as this is where a lot of discussion will take place and where we'll set up teams (if all members are on discord)

Once you've submitted the form/s, welcome to the Big Bang! We encourage writers to start creating as soon as possible, as we'll need details of your projects in January ready for claims. Remember, claims will be anonymous, so please keep your ideas quiet until after claims are finished.

Artists and Beta Readers, you can relax until claims. In the meantime, why not tell your friends about the event, see if they're interested in joining us!

I've been radio silent because I've been participating in @batfam-big-bang 2024!

Jason had a tradition on the anniversary of his death. Isolate, stop taking his medication, get drunk, start a fight with Batman and generally be a danger to himself and others. This year, Jason was determined not to let that happen.

However, as the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Jason intended to ask Bruce about his death. Bruce intended to answer his questions. However, having this conversation with Jason in crisis and Bruce providing alcohol ends about as well as the first time they attempted it.

What Jason did not intend to do was almost run over Harley Quinn during his escape attempt. Jason isn’t overly sure if he kidnapped Harley and took her home with him.

Neither is he entirely convinced this isn’t yet another awful idea.

Harley was the Joker’s psychiatrist, so maybe she has the answers he's looking for.

His burning question … why is the Joker still alive?

Will Jason have a good anniversary? Well, if Harley has anything to say about it …

Jason and Bruce are absolutely not prepared for Harley Quinn’s interventions.

Or, in other words: Reasons why Harley Quinn regrets her career in psychiatry that doesn’t involve the Joker. Volume one.

Three (Hundred) Days til Christmas

Logan Crofter's life is wonderfully normal. He's just gotten his bachelor's degree in Astronomy, he's working towards a position with NASA, and he's saving up to go even further in his education. He has a best friend he met at college, Virgil Sweet, and his life is going superbly. When Virgil asks him to come for a trip back to her hometown for the holidays, of course he agrees. But once he's been living the same day for days, he can't help but get more than a little annoyed at the universe. And when all of it is made worse by one of Virgil's childhood friend's bringing his cute twin brother, Roman, well, Logan just doesn't know what to do!

This was my first big bang fic, and it's been so much fun working on it these past months. Go check out the other wonderful pieces (written and drawn) from other creators in the Big Bang too!

Also, please forgive this fic being released when it is neither 2023 nor the holiday season. I started writing this back in December of 2023, forgot about it, then signed up for the Big Bang and revived it.

This had me laughing every time I looked at it!

But yeah this is definitely the vibes. Especially with the alternating timeline thing you get one chapter of the JL giving it their all to find and rescue Billy as they talk about how much they love and respect Cap and in the next one Billy is being actively tortured as he laments the fact no one cares about him.

Its a delicate balancing act but hey I gotta keep y'all entertained!
