5 Important Makeup Brushes Every Makeup Artist Should Carry in Their Kit
As a professional makeup artist, having the right tools is just as important as having the right products. Your makeup brushes are the foundation of a flawless look, and whether you're working on a bride, a model, or creating editorial looks, having the right set of brushes can make all the difference. With so many brushes on the market, it can be overwhelming to know which ones are essential for your kit. Here's a guide to the top 5 makeup brushes that every makeup artist should carry, with expert recommendations from Jawed Habib Academy, Laxmi Nagar Delhi (9266610366).
1. Foundation Brush A foundation brush is an essential tool in any makeup kit. It can be a flat, dense brush or a pointed brush, both of which help apply liquid or cream foundation smoothly for an even and flawless finish. This allows you to blend the foundation evenly into the skin, creating a perfect canvas for the rest of your makeup. It is important to use a brush made of synthetic fibers, as they work better with liquid products and offer better precision.
2. Powder Brush After applying foundation, it is essential to set it with a good setting powder for long-lasting wear. A large fluffy powder brush is ideal for evenly applying powder or bronzer. The soft bristles help the product spread smoothly across the face, without disrupting the base makeup. Opt for a high-quality powder brush with soft bristles to achieve a light and natural look.
3. Blending Eyeshadow Brush A blending brush is crucial for eye makeup. This soft, tapered brush allows for easy blending of color on the crease and lid, creating a professional and diffused look. It can be used with both matte and shimmer shades, making it a versatile tool for any makeup artist. Whether you're going for a soft smoky eye or a bold crease, a blending brush will provide a smooth transition between colors.
4. Angled Brow or Eyeliner Brush An angled eyebrow brush is an essential tool for creating sharp lines with precision. It is perfect for filling in brows with powder or pomade as well as creating precise winged eyeliner with gel or cream products. This brush allows for controlled and neat application, ensuring that brows and eyeliner are always well aligned.
5. Blush/Contour Brush A blush or contour brush is essential for adding definition and warmth to the face. This medium-sized, angled or rounded brush is perfect for precise application of blush, contour, or highlight. It helps sculpt and define the face, giving it dimension and a healthy glow. To achieve the best results, choose a soft but dense brush that can pick up and blend pigmented powders without leaving streaks.

Brow Pens: How to Use a Brow Pen & Best Application Tips
Brow pencils are great, but take it one step further to a pen and you’ve got a totally different brow game. If you’re a fan of ultra-full brows, are missing hair in certain areas, or love the micro-bladed look but don’t want to commit to tattooing brows on your face a brow pen may just be for you.
Whilst not the easiest of brow products use (beginners may find them especially tricky) the finished result of a brow pen can make all the hard work and extra care worth it. A felt tip pen (similar to a liquid liner) needs a steady hand to master and a good spoolie on standby for the best results.
How to Use a Brow Pen: Mastering Application
The application of a brow pen is not an easy one, and an artistic touch and steady hand are two necessary tools. Much like how you would paint tiny fine strokes to create eyebrows on a painting if you were to draw a portrait the same technique must be applied and adapted for this style of product. Start off by brushing up your eyebrows and then very gently use small, light, feathering strokes and flicks to create the illusion of eyebrow hairs. It’s important not to use too much pressure when applying the product or you may end up with the dreaded sharpie brows. Once you’ve finished filling in the brows brush them through with a spoolie and set with a good brow gel.
Who Should Use a Brow Pen?
Brow pens are ideal for people who:
love a really full, naturally thick looking brow
may have over-tweezed their brows in the past
have lost a large amount of brow hairs in the past due to medical reasons
love the look of micro-bladed brows, but don’t want to commit to the process (or find it too expensive)
Brow Pens vs Powders, Pencils, Pomades
Brow pens are very different to other brow products and formulas on the market, they’re more intense than a pencil or powder, and depending on the formula can also appear more vivid than a pomade. Although brow pens do provide a sharp and intense pigment to the skin, the fine strokes they create generally tend to give a more natural look in comparison to other brow formulas. Staying power is a major feature of these types of pens as they grab onto the skin and provide a slight tint, if you rub your eyebrows it’s very unlikely the applied product will be disturbed (especially since many formulas are waterproof)
The Best Brow Pens and What to Look For
Brow pens are not the most common of brow products available, they tend to be a more niche product and only certain brands sell them. When searching for a brow pen it’s best to opt for one with a small, precise, liquid liner-like tip as these will give you the most natural results as opposed to an angled or “texta” style applicator.

Let Your Brows Do The Talking With 7 Best Eyebrow Pencils Of 2020
If there is one facial feature that many women tend to ignore or understate is the eyebrows. If it's not you then you might have noticed other women around you that do not pay as much attention to the brows as to their other facial features. It is important to understand that defined eyebrows make your face look more structured and attractive. It enhances the overall look of your face and gives a definition to it. Eyebrows have the power to completely make or break your face look especially your makeup look. Even though you are born with a certain shape, color, texture & volume of your eyebrows. But thanks to the makeup we have a solution in the form of eyebrow pencils to make them look as we want. You might want thicker eyebrows or you want to define a particular shape, it is now super easy. You just need the right product for your eyebrows to help in making your eyebrows look more stunning.
What is an eyebrow pencil?
The eyebrow pencil is a cosmetic product that is used to apply the color to the eyebrows. They help to define the eyebrows by filling in with color. They have a special formula that is specifically designed to fill color in the eyebrow area in a controlled manner. Also, these products ensure the safety of the skin so that harmful microorganisms cannot grow on it. However, every brand has different ingredients in the eyebrow pencil that ensures the safety of the product. Eyebrow pencils can also be used to give particular shape, outline, or for extending your eyebrows. It is considered as an eye makeup in a pencil or pen-like applicator.
Types of eyebrow pencils
When you hear about eyebrow pencils you might be thinking of a normal pencil-shaped black color except eyebrow pencils come in many options. Nowadays, you can easily choose the right eyebrow pencil according to your shape & hair on the brows or even your skin type. It also depends upon what kind of brow-look you want - a natural look or a bold look. The color factor should also be kept in mind such as if you are going to use a darker color shade then what kind of eyebrow pencil should you use so that you don’t end up looking like a clown with overly sketched eyebrows. Some factors like style, shape, size, and volume of your eyebrows need to be considered before selecting the right type of eyebrow pencil. Also, your allergies are something that also needs to be considered. Below are the various types of eyebrow pencils that can help you to pick the right product to define your eyebrows. TRADITIONAL EYEBROW PENCILS This is a type of eyebrow pencils that pops first in your head when you think about eyebrow pencils. The benefit of using this is that it is a type of pencil that gives a hair-like precision. The reason for the natural precision is the softness and its natural shade. This type of pencil allows smooth and even stroke as it is easy to control the amount of product that you are layering on your brows. It is very easy to use. Just make sure you brush your brows before filling and then start with small little strokes matching hair length and in the hair direction. If you want to add some more drama then you can add layers according to your requirement. This is a great pencil for filling and defining, also it is considered as the best option when you are looking for a natural minimal look. GEL EYEBROW PENCILS Gel eyebrow pencil has a wand that looks similar to a mascara wand. It contains a gel substance that helps in holding your hairs as well as defining it. This type of eyebrow pencil the best choice for women who have thicker or curly eyebrows. It keeps your brows in a place and makes them manageable. They come in different colors and they can also be used as the last piece of your eyebrow look to give a nice finishing touch. POMADE EYEBROW PENCILS Similar to the gel mascara wand, the pomade brush is like a liquid material that helps in defining the eyebrows and its texture. The benefit of using the pomade component is that it gives a natural hold to the eyebrows. It provides a great texture to the brows with very little effort. However, it dries up quicker than the gel eyebrow pencil but also depends upon how much product you have applied. It gives your brows a fine look without needing to add powder or colors. It helps in giving you a picture-perfect and long-lasting look. EYEBROW PEN OR MARKER An eyebrow marker is a great option if you want to add some more color and intensity as well as drama to your brows. They are a great way for defining arcs with great precision on your eyebrows that also looks natural. But micro-blading with the help of an eyebrow pen needs to be done carefully as they have a good pigment as compared to others that you have to clean. If you are a beginner in using an eyebrow marker then it is best to keep Vitamin E oil near you. And if you want to give a natural look to your brows, then start with short strokes similar to eyebrow pencil and in the direction of your brows. It is a great option for women who have very thin and light eyebrows.

You need to find what you can work best with first, brow pomades or pencils? If pomade then I really recommend the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pomade or if it’s too pricey for you then nyx tame and frame, brow pomades tend to last ages so even the abh one it worth every penny. For pencils Anastasia Beverly Hills brow defined or brow with are both good and creamy so they are nice and easy to work with 💖

God like. You are way too pretty? Style? On point. Hair? On point? Make-up (ESPECIALLY eyebrows)? On point. Can you please?? Teach me how to be so pretty? What make-up products do you use? Your face is so flawlesssss
o////o oh my gosh, Nonny, PLS! I am but a small bean who has gotten sorta decent at painting my face. I thank you though for all your extremely kind compliments!
I could give you some tips if you’d like actually! If you have any specific questions, let me know and I’ll get to those first. As for what I use, I will actually link them below! You can get pretty much everyone on/from Sephora (: these are in no particular order!
Liquid Foundation: MAKE UP FOR EVERUltra HD Invisible Cover Foundation
This foundation is AMAZING! It’s got great coverage and best of all, it doesn’t feel heavy or cakey on my face which is really lovely. My freckles still show underneath it but it covers any blemishes or imperfections I want to cover. I use a beauty blender to apply.
Powder Foundation: bareMineralsBAREPRO Performance Wear Powder Foundation
I use this after liquid foundation, concealer and contour to seal the look! Really nice to use if I’m just doing a quick makeup look as well with no liquid foundation. It’s got build able coverage. I used this brush to apply it
Contour and Highlighter: tarteTarteist™ PRO Glow Highlight & Contour Palette
Okay, I was garbage at contouring before this palette. I’m not saying I’m the best, but I can at least get something started now! It has a cream based contour and also powder and both formulas are amazing! They blend well and to be honest, the whole palette smells delicious lol! There are four highlighters in there as well which lets you go from lightly dusted to a soaking wet look (my preferred method ;D) I use this brush to contour with and then blend the rest out with a beauty blender. I used a Smashbox Fan brush to apply the Highlighter.
Eyeliner: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
Listen to me right now. If you buy nothing else from this list, BUY THIS FUCKING EYELINER. IT CHANGED MY LIFE. I’m not even being dramatic. It’s the best liquid eyeliner I have ever used and I’m kicking myself because it took me so long to finally purchase it. My eyeliner game changed for the better once I started using this bad boy. T^T fuck, I love it so much. It does NOT. COME. OFF. (unless you’re really rubbing at it with a makeup wipe/soap and water) I’ve spent three hours at the gym sweating my ass off and that shit didn’t smudge even A LITTLE.
Eyeshadow: Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette
I use this eyeshadow palette every single time I do my makeup. You couldn’t really see it in the last photo I posted because I was washed out (I did that on purpose, it’s called art people, GOD! XD) but you can create so many looks with this palette AND it’s super great if you’re a beginner with eyeshadows like I was when I first got it. I used a Bare Minerals blending brush for EVERYTHING on this palette because they’re so blendable :3. I use a bunch of others as well though so if you want more options, let me know!
Concealer: bare Minerals Correcting Concealer Broad Spectrum SPF 20
I really love this concealer because it’s very creamy and blends very well! I also have and use the NARS concealer which does nOT FUCK AROUND, but if you’re on a budget, this one works great too!
Primer: bareMinerals Prime Time™ Foundation Primer
Primer is a really important step in your beauty routine if you plan on wearing your makeup for a long period of time. Bare Minerals has all kinds too, like ones that brighten up your skin and even help with oil control if you have oily skin! Feels nice and light on the face :3
Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly HillsDIPBROW™ Pomade
Really, this is what you guys wanted from me T^T this right here! GATHER AROUND KIDDOS, LET ME TELL YOU OF MY LORD AND SAVIOR, ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS! This brand has got to be the leading makeup company when it comes to Eyebrows. You can’t tell me any different. I’ve used them all too! I’ve found the Pomade works best for the look I like to achieve. However! It’s a very heavy product and it’ll take some practice if you’re not used to working with a Pomade. If you want to start with something less intimidating, I suggest the brow definer! If you want something a little softer, their brow powder may be a great place to start! Browse the products and see what speaks to you! They are all great and be sure to refer to the colour chart to see what colour you need (: it’s on ABH Sephora page! I also clean the edges of my brows with concealer afterwards which changed my whole eyebrow experience lol. I just used an angled eyeliner brush to clean up and then a small eyeshadow brush to blend out the concealer.
Eyeshadow Primer: Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer
I used to think eyeshadow primer was a waste of time and money but fuck past me. She was dumb and had to learn the hard way. Eyeshadow primer makes a world of fucking different if you’re going for long wear or just don’t want that shit to move. I know me personally, my eyelids are hooded and so the eyeshadow would rub off in the crease and I would look like a hot mess. That doesn’t happen anymore with this stuff. Bless you Smashbox.
Setting Spray: Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray
holy fuck, just buy this, okay? You’ll never be the same and also your makeup will never, ever budge. They have a bunch of different kinds but I use this one to eliminate that fucking shine. Get out of here. Unless you’re the highlighter I put on, I DON’T WANT THE SHINE lmfao
Lips: I…I can’t even link everything, okay? That would take forever. Look up Tarte Cosmetics, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Kat Von D, Jeffree Star and Colourpop just TO GET YOU STARTED. All of those have amazing liquid lipsticks which is all I wear anymore, let’s be real. If you have questions about a specific brand, like how long it lasts and how it feels on the lips, things like that, let me know and I’ll give you my honest review :3 In that photo though, I was wearing tarte Tarteist™ Creamy Matte Lip Paint in the shade Birthday Suit.
GO FORTH MY MAKEUP BABY! This is what I used on my face today and that’s just some of the stuff I’ve used/own, so if you want more recommendations, I’ve got you! Any questions you may have, send them my way! Happy to help.

10 Makeup Products I Can’t Live Without!
Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade: This is my ride or die eyebrow product! If I could only use one makeup product for the rest of my life I think it would be this. I really just love doing brows and this product makes it so easy! You can achieve any look from natural to dramatic with dip brow and just changing your technique of application. In my opinion, this product is also a really great deal. Often with brow pencils, they run out quite frequently. I think I have only had to purchase a pot of the dip brow maybe twice a year! It is only $18 and available in Sephora.
http://www.sephora.com/dipbrow-pomade
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge: DUPE ALERT! Within the past year, just about every beauty brand has been coming out with beauty sponges for foundation application after the Beauty Blender came out. My ultimate favorite sponge is the Real Techniques sponge! Dampen it under running water, squeeze out the excess, and use it to apply your favorite foundation. The material of the sponge allows the foundation to really blend into the skin making it look much more natural and also more comfortable to wear. It is my favorite way to apply concealer as well. I also use it with my loose powder to set the under eye area. With powder, the sponge makes it easier to apply a smooth layer without disrupting the foundation underneath. My favorite part about it is that it is only $6 at most grocery stores and drugstores. For comparison, a Beauty Blender brand sponge is $20!
http://www.target.com/p/real-techniques-miracle-complexion-sponge
Morphe 35O Palette: Best eyeshadows for the price! Really all of their 35 color palettes are amazing, but my all-time favorite is the 35O (orange). It has every warm-tone brown you could ever imagine. I use this palette on a lot of my friends all with different coloring and it flatters everyone. Warm-tone browns are magic! It is the palette I reach for on the daily because it is so easy to create looks with. The mattes are buttery smooth and easy to blend and the shimmers are extremely pigmented with the slightest swatch. They are great for travel since you have every color from highlight to transition to deep tones. These palettes are available on the Morphe site and are just about always on sale for only $22!
https://www.morphebrushes.com/products/35o
Coty Airspun Loose Powder: This powder has changed my makeup game (thank you PatrickStarr on YouTube)! This is a translucent loose powder that is extremely light weight and gives the appearance of airbrushed makeup. I use it every single day no matter if I am doing natural or dramatic makeup. Setting or baking undereye concealer with this powder leaves the undereye looking so smooth and prevents creasing all day. I think it is impossible to look cakey using this powder. I got mine from Amazon for about $10, but I have seen it in my local grocery store for $5!
https://www.walmart.com/ip/10312547
Ardell Wispies Lashes: These were the first pair of lashes I ever wore and to this day are still my favorite. Not only are they $3 at Target, but they are so versatile and flawless on everyone. The thin band allows for easy application for beginners and a lightweight feel while wearing them. These are my go-to lashes for everyday wear as they really are "wispie" giving a natural look but still glam. If you have smaller eyes, I suggest trying out the demi wispies which are the same style just with shorter hairs.
http://www.target.com/p/ardell-eyelash-wispies-black
Anastasia Glow Kit: These are the only high-end highlighters I own because the price was so great. (I'm obviously all about the deals if you haven't caught on by now.) In the Gleam Glow Kit there are 4 full sized, removable, highlighters for $40. That’s $10 a piece which is sometimes cheaper than drugstore brands! A couple of the Anastasia Glow Kits actually come with 6 shades. I love that the pans are removable because it allows me to put the highlighter pan into my magnetic Z-Palette that I use for travel or getting ready at the gym. It makes it easier to condense multiple palettes. The product itself is highly pigmented, easy to apply, and the glow lasts all day!
http://www.anastasiabeverlyhills.com/glow-kit-that-glow
Lorac Pro Contour Palette: This kit is nothing ground breaking but it is just a staple in my collection. I have had this kit for about 2-3 years now and because it is so pigmented, it lasts forever! It's super compact and has a few shades which is great if you get darker throughout the year. The contour shades are perfectly neutral- not too cool/ashy and not too warm/orange. This product makes contouring easy!

NYX Dew Me Up: I haven't had this product that long but immediately I knew I loved it. This product is similar to a gel-like serum consistency and primes the skin for foundation. I don't think that it really adds much dew once the foundation is set, but it makes my foundation look extremely smooth and last all day and night.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation: I don't always buy a high-end foundation but this product was talked about all over YouTube! So many people with different skin types said it was beautiful so I had to try it out. One pump is all I need for medium-to-full coverage that looks natural and never cakey. It really does look like "your skin but better". It looks smooth and lasts all day without ever getting oily. I know the bottle will last a long time since I don’t need to use a lot of product! If you're going for a no-makeup look, you can easily spot conceal with this foundation and still look flawless!

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip: DUPE ALERT! Another popular trend within the past year or two, has been matte liquid lipsticks. Many high-end brands are $20-25 just for one lipstick. An awesome alternative and one of my favorites has to be the Colourpop Ultra Matte lipstick! These are only $6 each and come in a wide variety of colors. They can become dry throughout the day if too many layers are applied, so I recommend using a chapstick or lipliner underneath and apply thin coats. My favorite colors are Bumble and Clueless.

i'm a different anon but i've been looking to start wearing makeup (just the very very very bare minimum basics) and if u have any recommendations id love that!! :D
ALRIGHT MY FRIEND get ready for my makeup rambling
Primer: Best primers, imo, are the Primer Potions by Urban decay. This one for the eyes, and there’s also one for the face. You can do without the face one, but I’d really recommend the one for the eyes, which also comes in a tiny version but it lasted me a little over a year. This face primer by L’Oréal is a bit cheaper but worked well for me.
Concealer: I’m currently using the Bare Minerals SPF20 Correcting Concealer which I think does a pretty good job and comes in quite a lot of shades. However, if you want something less expensive I’d recommend something from either Max Factor or L’Oréal. I always use my fingers, because I like a thick layer of concealer, and then you can blend with a makeup sponge, or you can use a small flat brush.
Foundation: The Max Factor Face Finity is pretty good, as it is quite long lasting and it also has SPF20 which is always good. If you want something fancier then I’d recommend Born This Way by TooFaced. However if you prefer a different kind of foundation, as both the ones I’ve mentioned definitely look better with some powder, you can always use a powder foundation. I haven’t tried many, but this one by BareMinerals is quite good: Blemish Remedy (I sometimes use it as a finishing powder on top of my liquid foundation. It works as long as you don’t put on too much). There are tons of foundation brushes, but it works just as well with your fingers or a makeup sponge!
Powder: Honestly, if you have a good foundation any powder will do. If you’re not sure which colour is right for your skin or have to share it with a sister or someone whose skin tone doesn’t match yours, then go for a translucent powder. Personally I prefer compact powders, especially this one by Too Faced. For a more natural look use a powder brush instead of the applicator that usually comes with the package.
Contouring: In my opinion powders are always better, as it takes less to apply and blend them. There’s a very good contouring kit by Urban Decay, Naked Flushed, which has bronzer, highlighter, and blush, and comes in many different shades. It is a little expensive but it lasts a lot, and you’d probably end up spending more buying each product separately.
Eyes & Brows: If you like nude colours then I’d definitely recommend the Naked Basics by Urban Decay. It’s a tinier version of the Naked ones, but with only matte colours (except for one that you can use in the corner of your eye or on your brow bone for highlighting). They recently made a new one, Naked Ultimate Basics, but that’s a bit more expensive. I suggest you try the small one first, especially as there are a couple colours I think most people could use for defining their eyebrows! I always choose powder over pencils or pomade for my eyebrows because mine are already quite dark and thick, and I think the final look is more natural.
Eyeliner & Mascara: My current favourite eyeliner is the Razor Sharp liquid eyeliner by Urban Decay. It’s taken me forever to find an eyeliner that actually works for me, and this one lasted for over 10 hours and 37C degrees. If you want something that might be a bit easier to apply for a beginner, then go for a pen eyeliner. This one and this one are good! Personal advice, never ever wear eyeliner with no primer and/or at least eyeshadow underneath. If you really don’t want any colour, either use a nude eyeshadow or just powder. When it comes to mascara I suppose what does most of the work is the wand, but also the way you apply it. Lift your chin up and look down, and try to start the application as close to the eye as possible (without stabbing yourself in the eye like I often do, possibly!!). Personal favourites: Better Than Sex and Telescopic.
Lips: If you don’t want to have lipstick all over your teeth, because no matter what it always happens even with lip primer on, then I would aim for a matte lipstick. I have only tried the ones by Too Faced, Melted Matte, which come in a lot of colours, and they’re really really good. They don’t require primer or lip pencil, but you can use both if you prefer. Rimmel London has pretty good lip pencils that aren’t very expensive. The only problem with those lipstick is that they tend to make your lips quite dry, so I suggest you try to keep your lips as soft as possible with scrubs (which you can easily make at home with sugar) and lip balms. If you are one of those lucky people who don’t get lipstick on their teeth (and I honestly think it’s like 0,1% of the entire world population but whatever), Max Factor makes really nice lipsticks, and so do L’Oréal and Rimmel London.
Brushes: Brushes are like the most expensive thing, but you can work with just a few. The ‘basic’ ones are: powder brush, contouring brush, blush brush, angled brush for either gel eyeliner or eyebrows, eyeshadow brush (a flat one, and a fluffier one for blending), and maybe a lip brush but tbh you can work without, unless maybe you have to share your lipstick with other people. Oh, and makeup sponges for liquid foundation. Real Techniques makes quite good brushes that are not crazy expensive, and they also have some good kits like this one for the eyes, and this one for the face. I also have a really nice kit from Too Faced, but that was quite expensive (but really worth it imo). Sephora makes decent brushes, but they’re not all synthetic so :/ I always try to use cruelty free makeup, which is more expensive, but who cares, it’s for a good cause.

Hello everyone! I finally finished my exams and projects for this course, which means that I’ll finally be able to write again regularly, without the ups-and-downs of the last few weeks. Today, I’m going to be talking about one of Kat Von D Beauty‘s latest releases from its range of brow products: the 24-Hour Super Brow, a “creamy long-lasting eyebrow gel”. If you want to know if it’s worth it, keep on reading!
18,50€ – $19 | Cruelty-free | Vegan
Like the rest of the brand’s products, this eyebrow pomade is not tested on animals, and it’s also vegan. The shade range is quite broad (16), and includes 7 natural tones, 7 artistic colors, the white shade «White Out» for mixing and customizing and «Bleach» for a bleached look.
On the Sephora website, the product is described as water resistant, long lasting and light textured. The collection includes the brush #70 Pomade Brow Brush to apply this product and achieve “an intense result without effort”, but personally, I chose not to buy it and use the ones I already have.
Warning: when I started checking out the tones, I was torn between Medium Brown and Dark Brown. If I hadn’t stopped by the store to buy it in person, I would most likely have bought the second one because I felt like it was the one that suited my brows the most according to the images, when in fact the first one was the best choice for me. I highly recommend checking the tones out in person before buying them!
Medium Brown
Pros
Pros
It lasts a lot. Once dry, this pomade doesn’t transfer at all, not even when it’s rubbed, and it also lasts many hours.
It’s completely waterproof.
Although the tone range is already quite huge by itself, there are tones specially created to modify the rest (or to be used alone).
The texture is very creamy. It applies very smoothly, so there’s no need for you to press too hard in order to define the eyebrow. At first, it leaves a gel-like/wet effect, but after a while, it dries matte.
It is especially useful for people with mixed/oily skin.
It looks very evenly when you apply it, it doesn’t look patchy.
Little product goes a long way. That’s a good thing because, similarly to Anastasia Beverly Hills‘ Dip Brow Pomade (reviewed here), you make sure you won’t need to buy another product in a long time.
Cons
They have purple tones… but no natural redhair color. The only way to achieve such tone is by mixing several pomades, which I consider to be a huge failure in their behalf if they’re creating a supposedly “extensive” range.
At first, pomades are probably the hardest brow products because you have to be more careful, so they’re not the best option for beginners. But once you’re used to them, they’re quite fast and easy to use!
With this pomade, you’re saying goodbye to natural brows. It’s definitely not the best product if you want your eyebrows to look natural, as its pigmentation is way too intense for that.
💚 E M E R A L D 💚 ⠀ I liiiiiive for exaggerated looks and overlined lips, is it too obvious? 😂 I did this look some days ago using KVD Beauty's 10YA palette and I love it. The gold shadow is SO stunning! I also love how flawless the #promattefoundation from @lagirlcosmetics looked on me this time 😍 I've had some trouble with it, but I think I've managed to make it work for me. As soon as I'm free from exams and final projects I'm going to start writing a review on it! ⠀ Details: ⠀ – @katvondbeauty 10 Year Anniversary Palette + #SuperBrow in 'Medium Brown' – @makeuprevolution Conceal & Define Liquid Concealer (C3) + Lace Baking Powder – @toofaced Love Light Highlighter in 'Blinded by the Light' – @colourpopcosmetics UML in 'Lyin King' – @catrice.cosmetics Prime & Fine Contouring Duo Stick – @tartecosmetics 'Abstract' blush – @essence_cosmetics Superlast Waterproof Eyeliner ⠀ #makeupcolorswheel #emerald #eyesmakeup #eyeshadow #undiscovered_muas #makeupartist #makeupbyme #katvondbeauty #kvdbeauty #redlips #greeneyeshadow #discoverunder5k #glamlook #revolutionmakeup #essencecosmetics #catricecosmetics #tartecosmetics #toofaced #discoverunder10k

As I mentioned before, these pomades can be “customized” and combined in order to create infinite colors. Steffanie Strazzere (member of the KVD Artistry Collective), for instance, demonstrates in the video below how the colors can be mixed to create tones such as the brand’s infamous Lolita liquid lipstick shade:
Aunque esto no tiene mucho uso para las personas que solo se maquillan a sí mismas, creo que vale la pena mencionarlo para maquilladores profesionales o personas a las que les gusta el maquillaje artístico.
Although this technique isn’t really useful for people who only do makeup on themselves, I think it’s worth mentioning for professional makeup artists and people who enjoy artistic makeup.
I’m absolutely loving this eyebrow pomade. Eyebrows are one of the most important parts of my makeup routine, and I don’t mind spending a little more on them if I get results. This product is perfect for people who love bold brows.
Truth is, this product has quickly become competition for my Dip Brow Pomade, which had been my favorite pomade up until now. And KVD‘s is even cheaper! As one of the main concerns people have with this type of products is how long will they last in terms of smoothness and creaminess (brow pomades usually dry up especially fast), I’ll make sure to write a new post comparing both pomades to tell you which one I prefer in a few months.
I hope you enjoyed this post! Have you tried this or any of Kat Von D‘s new brow products yet? Do you like them? Let me know in the comments! Before you leave, don’t forget to follow me on social media ♡
