Tell me about a fic that lives rent free in your brain. I'll go:

There's a fic where Karamatsu befriends Death (kinda? Well, Death likes him well enough to revive him) and it explains why he comes back even though he dies so much. Starts almost funny but gets somewhat philosophical. Was dropped the moment the plot started thickening so I always think about where it would've gone

Zombiematsu AU that is amazing bcs it has several endings within the fic? There's one where everyone survives, one where SPOILER turns (and ofc one of the brothers has to kill him, and it creates endless drama) and man I think all the time about how that would've shifted the group dynamics, and then an ending (unfinished) where SPOILER was bitten but doesn't actually turn, but he doesn't realise it until he's already left the group to turn away from them. god..... that one goes so hard. What was going to happennnnn.

Pacific Rim AU. The fic was unfinished but not really? It wasn't very linear to begin with. The drift dynamics that were presented live rent free in my head, sometimes when I listen to a song I'm like "oh kinniku / suikiru / beni / whatever would drift to this song".

There was a suuuper interesting fic where all the matsus wake up in Purgatory for reasons unknown, they're separated and they have to get out. It was so spooky, I wonder all the time where the story was going to go.

Time and Time Again. Since there were so many timelines, I sometimes imagine that Karamatsu's TL being reset by the loop DOESN'T necessarily mean that those TLs dissapear. So I'm often thinking about what would've happened in them. Gets dark since obviously Kara messed up in most of them lol, and I like to imagine that those TLs before the last one end up with a Husk of Karamatsu. On the other hand, sometimes I imagine that the TLs DO get reset, but the memories from them find their way into the subconcious of everyone affected by the loop (so the brothers, Totoko, Chibita, etc). How messed up would that be? To suddenly see in a dream how you were killed, or the aftermat of an atrocity that your brother committed out of desperation.

They would kill each other for a dollar fifty or half drank can of cherry coke. Osomatsu robs Todomarsu. Todomatsu commits utility fraud in Osomatsu’s name. Osomatsu steals his phone and spills beer on it and then it smells pissy for months no matter how hard todomatsu cleans it. Todomatsu gives Osomatsu 10$ knowing hes gonna get 15$ from Osomatsu the next day. They buy each other popsicles, snd Osomatsu whines til he eats Todomatsu’s. They girl watch. They get into fist fights and Todomatsu wins solely because Osomatsu doesnt need to use his protag plot armor. Osomatsu gets coochie lice, Todomatsu goes to the pharmacy and picks it up bc hes getting his antipsychotics and is already there. Todomatsu screams at condoms and Osomatsus so terrified of the concept of pussy his knees quake like a maiden. Osomatsu breaks into Todomatsu’s password journal and steals all of his secrets. Todomatsu laughs at Osomatsu’s jokes, they both lay down and dont do shit when their mama is cleaning up. They both emotionally manipulate their mama to take care of them forever. They got five dollars between them.

They are best friends and brothers and brothers who are best friends. They are both the leader and rhe follower. Todomatsu is the brains, Osomatsu is the brawn. Osomatsu is the upper management, Todomatsu is the architect.

i think what i like most of all is that hes so severely the baby brother no matter how much he tries to escape from it hes like a layered onion where on the outside hes a sweet baby boy and then underneath hes the devil and then underneath again hes a baby and then underneath that hes the devil and it keeps going on and on and on and on and on and on and on. He and choromatsu are the two of the brothers that obviously try the most to be independent and escape the neet lifestyle and climb up the social ladder but deep inside his devil heart he still wants and needs his brothers to be with him and really struggles with feelings of loneliness. Osomatsu-san is Not That Deep but I'm A Delusional Diver #1

I know it's from back in April BUT may I just comment on how 3/4 of the semi-finalists are duos with Oso in it?

This is like one of the reasons why kusochonan's my favorite. He just works well in the dynamics with any of his little brothers!

Makes me wonder what affects this result tho. Is it a no brainer since he's the leader? Or because of his accepting nature which makes it easy for anyone to feel comfortable being themselves around him most of the time? Or because he's the eldest? Or because he's arguably the most attached to the others compared to his brothers? Or because he's arguably one of the most flexible when switching between the boke/tsukkomi role? Or did luck just happen to shine upon him with the showdown combos that were dealt?

Some comparison below because I find the numbers interesting haha

This is not a dis (because I do love Choro)! But I also find it interesting that Choro's count is zero in the semifinals. Because in another, older fandom poll I recall that he was the fandom's least favorite matsu. If I'm not mistaken, the order was Kara, Ichi, Jyushi, Oso, Todo, Choro. (Or was it Ichi first and then Kara?) Unfortunately I can't seem to find that poll to crosscheck so take this with a grain of salt.

If sokudo had made it, I think he probably would've been there as I'm also under the impression that a lot of people love sokudo. But perhaps the demographics changed? I mean, fandom members usually become less active when the show is currently not airing new content. Also I'm not sure how the Japanese demographics would affect the poll results. Would be interesting to see, tho! A Twitter poll could be fun, since most Japanese fans (or just Japanese people in general) are there. Please lmk if there's already one!

hello y’all, i’m sick af so don’t expect finesse and expert articulation, but i’m here today to drop my beef on the ever-simmering Totty Discourse, a.k.a. why are we pissing all over the pink satanic bean pretending he’s worse than ichimatsu or some shit because he ain’t

fandom wants to say totty is fake? well, he is. the shallow fuckboy he portrays himself as is 100% fake and in reality he loves the disgusting family he hates. see for yourselves my guys.

starting simple, that one time the boys had to compete for their mom’s love. oh yes that is def the face and hi5 of a man who totally hates his brother and is dEVESTATED he has to live with him.

when the cat fucker was mean to esp, totty was on that kitty search party ALL DAY. all day with the rest of the brothers. not off fucking around with his social life, he was busy giving a shit about his niisan and that cat. (not pictured: totty suggesting going to their friends for help about 3 seconds before this. he wasn’t just going along he was making An Effort)

speaking of giving shits about his niisans, how about the fact that not only was todomatsu 100% supportive of jyushi in his relationship with homerun girl...

....but he was also THE LITERAL FIRST ONE to gently ask jyushi to open up about her when he was rejected. not oso, not ichi, it was ding dang totty. a todomatsu who watched his brother’s heart get crushed in and miss me with a strikeout if you look at this scene and tell me totty doesn’t care about his brothers. i thank sue content for my life.

he also took actual offense when oso and ichi called him a heartless monster who “wouldn’t notice if one of them disappeared”. i love “dry monster” totty as much as the next, but in realtalk, someone who genuinely didn’t give a shit wouldn’t react like this.

on that topic, you realize the rest of the brothers actually dump on totty like all the time? it’s all in good bickering but the road goes both ways. there was a whole segment in ep 13 where the others just avoided him and laughed at the “totty shouldn’t exist” theory, but also, this shot took place like 10 seconds later. the sextuplets hassle each other and then they make up because they actually do get along in the end, that’s how it goes.

cried actual tears when choromatsu left. literally what would he have to gain by faking this? nothing. this is just a boy who is going to miss his brother.

also from ep 24. oh yes that is definitely the face of someone who is mcdonald’s lovin’ it being free of his horrible family whom he hates and despises and is overjoyed to get away from forever

party bob ross literally says it in this episode. “you treat your older brothers like trash, but deep down you’re just trying to be nice.” hell, totty literally says it in this episode, he ditches them so often because it’s his dream to rise up the social ladder as a family, but he feels like the only chance of that happening is if he does it first and then uses his connections to help the others later. it’s a shitty dream tbh but this boy is trying.

was super quick (alongside the others) to tell ichimatsu that he didn’t have to try and socialize on their level because of how anxious and uncomfortable he gets when pushed into those situations. todomatsu knows his brothers and pays attention to their weaknesses. he could have easily mocked ichi or scoffed at him and let him go embarrass himself, but he absolutely did not do that. he jumped to protec that fragile cat heart. good 110.
