I imagine Dean is protective as shit of his pie
Like he is hissing and scratching at anyone who even attempts to poke a fork into his pie
So if he lets you to reach out and eat a bit of his pie, it's a sign of respect
If he willingly hands you a slice of pie? Youre the fucking world to him
People I think Dean would let eat a bit of his pie:
- Mary Winchester
- Jack Kline
- Garth Fitzgerald
- Ellen Harvelle
- Kevin Tran
- Jody Mills
- Lisa Braeden
- Sam
People I think Dean would give a slice of pie to:
- himself (obviously)
- Sam (but he always refuses cos he's a health nut)
- Castiel
- Bobby
- Benny
- Charlie (sister energy)
- Jo (sister energy again [wdym they kissed they're literally siblings])
- Claire
- Eileen (as like a "ur my sister in law now" vibe)
- Missouri (fr she deserves some)
- Ben Braeden
I really wanted to add Crowley to this list but it's just the sad truth that Dean wouldn't trust him to be within 90ft of pie
And yes, John Winchester isn't on here. His ass does NOT deserve pie
#plus he would give poisoned pie to becky#supernatural#castiel#dean winchester#castiel supernatural#dean supernatural#sam winchester supernatural#sam and dean#sam winchester#sam x eileen#bobby singer#bobby spn#crowley spn#john winchester#jack kline#benny lafitte#charlie bradbury#garth fitzgerald iv#jo harvelle#jody mills#claire novak#ellen harvelle#kevin tran#mary winchester#mary campbell#eileen leahy#lisa braeden#ben braeden#destiel#dean x castiel

My first call
Pairing: Ben Hargreeves x Little Sister!Reader
Request: can u do ben hargreeves x little sister reader? maybe some angst? (season 4)
Summary: You two were the only ones who survived the sparrow academy, he was your sole caregiver and he was trying desperately to make ends meet in this messed up universe, he ended up getting arrested and sent to prison for 4 years.
A/N: it’s also a little bit of Luther x Little sister!Reader too
Ben hated his father for stranding him in this timeline, not only was his entire family dead, but he had no money and the only sibling of his that was alive was his 11 year old sister. He loved her to pieces but he was struggling really bad with how to keep her happy and stable. She was his rock, anything he did, he did for her. She was his fighting chance at actually coping in life. But she knew just as much as him that some days were worse than others, they’d both sob to eachother sometimes after remembering the rest of the sparrow academy and how they’re now gone, ceased from existence.
He cursed the umbrella academy, how do they get to be reset and alive and he has to mourn his brothers and sisters while they all get to play happy family. They keep inviting him to things, and he keeps declining, he didn’t see the point, they’re strangers to him, they broke into his home one day and refused to leave him alone since. He wasn’t their Ben so why are they constantly holding on to him. All they’re doing is confusing his sister and he’d hope they’d cool off eventually but they never did.
2 years have passed and Ben is now feeling stable for once since landing here, Y/N was doing great in school, her grades were excellent, even better than what Ben was gaining at that age. His scams were earning him a lot of cash, yes he was bankrupting thousands of people at a time but who gives a shit, he’s able to buy his sister everything she needs and wants and she is very grateful for it. Although she doesn’t exactly know how he’s doing it, she expected he was getting the money from their father.
“Hey Ben?” You called from the table, you sat doing your homework. Ben was cooking you guys some dinner and glanced over his shoulder to acknowledge your calling. “How come we never see those umbrella people?” You questioned, you always wondered who those strangers truly were, from what you saw of them, they seemed like genuine people, a little off their rocker but meaning well. Ben just sighed at the mention of those utter morons and set the spatula down. “I’ve told you to stop asking about them. All they are is the reason we’re alive, big deal.” He blew off some steam in his response to you, all you were looking for was some small talk to help pass the time between algebra equations and dinner, but here Ben was throwing a hissy fit again. Like always.
You had the same stubbornness as him, so with a set down of your pen you glared at him, he glared at you. “I saw that one of them sent a card in the mail. You still haven’t opened it.” Ben rolled his eyes and remembered the card that Luther had sent the two of you, he had a feeling it’d be a bunch of nonsense and that’s why he ignored never tearing the envelope open. “Leave it.” He concluded the argument and plated your dinner.
Tonight was an odd night, Ben was more on edge than usual, he kept opening his laptop and closing it, wouldn’t eat all his dinner, kept changing the channels on the TV. He even payed the gas bill on time, he usually leaves it for as long as possible so he can con the gas man, gives him a discount because they think he can’t afford it and he pulls the “little sister” card, hoping that’d buy him some brownie points. You sat on your bed, reading an old edition of your favourite comic, Ben knocked on your door, holding a box of donuts. “Hey, I wanted to apologise for earlier.” He sat at the edge of your bed, you didn’t even care about the argument, you’ve had worse, but what you did care about were the treats he was handing you. “And you’re forgiven.” You immediately took the box from him and took a bite out of the sugary delicacy.
Ben laughed slightly at your immediate dismissal and he took a donut too, after he was eating it he looked over at you who had somehow got sugar everywhere. “How the hell…” he laughed again. You just shrugged your shoulders, closing the box and setting it on your bedside table. Ben stood up, yanking you off the bed and he brushed you out of the room, you knew exactly what he was asking you to do. Get clean bed sheets. You loved him but sometimes he was such a neat freak. You went and got some and walked back to find your bed stripped from the blue covers, Ben chucked the dirty laundry in the basket and he turned on the radio in your room. “You were supposed to change these last night, it’s like you were waiting to cover it in sugar.” You looked at him with narrowed eyes like he’d just caught you out on your extravagant plan. You set the folded piles of sheets on your chair and you jumped on your bed.
Ben just sighed as you completely ignored him clearly trying to change the bed. “Stop being difficult. It’ll take five minutes!” he had to looked up at you as you jumped in the air and back on your mattress repeatedly. “Ben come on, remember anytime dad made us go around and routinely change everyone sheets.” That was their chore, Ben always had you to tag along with him, he was your personal assistant, funny how life works, it’s the same old. But he does recall how on every bed, to ‘make sure it’s safe’ you’d jump on it and after a few moments of bickering so would he, he always had a mushy side to him, relatively a mushy side that was reserved for you.
“Screw you!” He muttered as he hopped on the bed too, and as the music on the radio played, you and Ben had a moment of peace, one that you haven’t felt in a very long time, you didn’t need to be suscepted to such violent trauma at a young age, Ben could barely handle it as a fully grown adult, he was always cautious at how he treated you, usually resulting in you feeling sheltered, he felt like if you had too much of a good time you’d crash out, remembering all the bad. But he was just happy and grateful to still have a moment like this with you.
Having spent the past 2 years watching over you, Ben grew to realise it’s always been his role to parent you, not his father, it brought him grief along with new found appreciation for the gift he was given, he still remembers when Reginald brought you home. There was a malfunction with your marigold, causing yours to appear at a later date, a lot later than the rest of the 43.
The sparrows were 19 when he brought you home in a stroller, Ben was hesitant at first, wondering if since you were new, Reginald would make you number 1, but seeing as you weren’t stealing his thunder, he kind of liked keeping you around. You always got sick as a child though, Grace tried her best to heal you but it was some nurture that always helped. Which is why Ben read some of his comics to you, taught you how to draw, taught you what good music was, gave you some fashion sense when you grew out of Hello Kitty and Barbie. Even though you swore you were a ‘grown up’ you kept that hello kitty nightlight by your bedside, even now. When you got scattered in this new timeline you couldn’t sleep for 2 months, until Ben purchased an exact replica, then you could finally get through to the morning.
That’s why it hurt even more when the cops raided the apartment after your calming moment. They dragged him out of your room, placing him under arrest for fraud and bankrupting thousands. One of the cops broke your night light, and broke your home…
“Y/N, I’ll sort this out okay? You’ll be my first call.” He tried to shake the burly men who held him in cuffs, they dragged him out of the room as his eyes poured with tears, guilt and horror. He was trying to keep you safe, trying to save some of your childhood, and now he’s gone and fucked it all up. You’ll never forgive him, he thought. The cops were dragging him out the door as you quickly shuffled to chase him, you were shocked and petrified. “Let me talk to my fucking sister.” Ben yelled and the cops figured he better, seeing as she was only a kid. “I don’t know where they’re going to take you, but I’m gonna come home, okay. I’ll find you.” He spoke softly as to mend your heart as it got ripped to shreds. And then he was out of sight, after that touching moment, your eyes welled into tears and you were shaking. He was all you had left.
One lesser aggressive cop, knelt down by you as they dragged your brother away from you. “Hi, sweetheart, I know this is a lot to process, but I’m going to stay here with you while some social workers arrive. They’re going to help you, the best they can.” Right now you wish you had your power, to just stop time, run down the hall and give Ben one last hug, you figured that’s the last you’d ever see him, no goodbye, no closure, your bed wasn’t even made.
“I’m not going to some home. Different parents. No. I’m not talking to a social worker. I’m staying here, waiting for them to bring Ben home. He didn’t do what you’re accusing him of!” You argued with the man in uniform, your lip quivering as you tried to stay strong, stand your ground, but you were just a kid wanting her safety back. The officer just gave you a saddened look, as if all you wanted couldn’t be. “Well do you have anyone you can call?” His question would’ve been easy if your other siblings survived the fucking apocalypse the umbrellas brought. Then as if a lightbulb went off you ran to the kitchen counter and grabbed the envelope from the top of the microwave, ripping it open.
‘Dear Ben and Y/N,
Just wanted to remind you that it’s our birthdays soon, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to get dinner sometime? Everyone else is busy…
It’s okay if not,
Luther
[his number]’
You smiled, thanking Luther silently, he was always so formal, you’ve never been happy to see a bunch of randomised numbers, even though that was practically your childhood. “Officer, this is my brother, kind of.” You handed him the letter, he stood up and read through it, nodding, then walking to the next room to make a phone call. You ran to Ben’s room and just laid on his bed, pretending he was just getting the popcorn ready for your Saturday movie nights. A few stray tears fell down your face as you realised he was going to be sleeping in a cell and not his bed.
After a while of crying, your body gave out and you fell asleep, clutching the mini pillow you made for Ben at your youth club.
That’s until, after a while, a gentle hand shook you awake. You rolled over, forgetting all that happened while the sleep wore off. You saw two men before you, the officer and Luther. Luther sat at the edge of the bed, by you, he looked as though he’d been crying too. You haven’t seen him for two years so it was revelling to see one another again. You remembered him being a really nice man, he married your sister, so technically he was family. He and Sloane took you out to mini golf one day, Sloane always cheated, gravitating the ball into the hole. Luther broke about 4 golf clubs and you stopped time and cheated too. You hargreeves were never good at playing fair.
“Hey kiddo.” He muttered as all the memories of Ben’s arrest rushed back to you. You just clung to Luther in a hug and cried in his shoulder, the less stronger man just held you, gazing up at the officer. “I’ll take it from here, sir.” The cop nodded and left the apartment. You sniffled and wiped your eyes even though the waterworks kept on coming. “He’s not a bad guy, Luther.” You kept repeating similar phrases, pleading your brother’s innocence, as if convincing yourself he was getting out that night. “I know, I know.” Luther rubbed your back and he comforted you, it was difficult to see you like this again, the last time he saw you, you were just as devastated when you first got to this timeline.
After a while of him helping you calm back down, you sat beside him on the bed, he was going to stay with you, clean the apartment for you, after the cops made a mess of it, especially your room. It was really late though, you were tired and you just wanted nothing more than for Ben and you to chill while you nerded out about your favourite books. He loved poetry and you loved fantasy. Luther seemed like he likes those things too, if given the right recommendations, but he wasn’t like Ben. “Would you like anything in particular for breakfast tomorrow?” He smiled over to you as you still held the small pillow, looking at it. “I like cereal…” you shrugged, not really having an appetite and not wanting to think about how lonely the morning would be without him there to watch TV with. “Cereals good.” Luther nodded. He figured that once you were asleep he was going to make a run to the all night grocery, to get you a lot of things, he mostly emptied his wallet when he felt guilty.
It was still awkward having him here, and confusing, he was your brother in law, but he was also bens actual brother, but not your Ben, a different Ben, who had the same father but not the father you have. It gave you a headache the more you pondered on where Luther placed in your life. You got off the bed and walked silently to your room, noticing now just how badly it was banjaxed. Luther follows slowly behind and just stood at the door frame. “Just to let you know, I did tell the officer off for doing that.” He let you in on that fact, you just nodded and lifted pieces of your broken light, you sat on the floor, you weren’t going to sleep the whole night, the only way you slept earlier was because it still felt like Ben was here.
Luther lifted the pile of bedsheets that were still on your chair, untouched. The old sheets were still on top of the hamper, Ben still having not cleaned it. Luther got the mattress sheet and tried to put it on, but you immediately stopped him. “No!” You glared, not meaning to be so hasty, and Luther just tilted his head, confused. “But where are you going to sleep? You can just have a bare mattress.” He was trying to help but you took it as him dismissing your problems and trying to take over Ben’s role. “I said no! Just get out!” You yelled at him and Luther immediately dropped the sheets and slumped his shoulders, nodding and leaving you alone in your room. Gently closing the door behind him.
Ben never called, the entire night you sat up, not sleeping a wink, except between 3:45am and 4:23am then you woke, rushing to check the phones past logs, not a single one from Ben. Your room was still a mess, your lamp was still broken on the floor, Luther did try to come back into your room and clean it, not wanting you to get hurt by the shards. But yet again, you screamed at him to leave. And he took that as a hint and didn’t come back in… respectfully listening to your wishes, not getting mad at you for it.
You cried and cried and cried even more. Luther left the house for a little bit, which you later found out was because he went to the store, he slipped a note under your door,
‘Buying you some cereal, won’t be long
:)’
You smiled at his careful consideration to your needs. He was nice for that. Then morning came, you yawned and pulled yourself from the bed, growing more and more agitated the longer it took Ben to call. Maybe he forgot about you, and that hurt more than anything. Because you knew Ben wouldn’t just forget, he loved you. He would want to make sure you were safe.
Luther then drudged into the kitchen, scratching his head, he got out two bowls, and opened up the box of cereal, as you sat at the kitchen table staring at the phone, waiting for it to call. You propped your head up with your elbows, staring and staring and staring. “Good morning.” Luther called over to you and you just nodded, not giving back an answer. He poured the milk into the bowls of cereal and walked towards you, handing you a spoon along with it. “I had a feeling you liked cinnamon toast crunch.” He smiled to you. When he first got kidnapped by the sparrows, way back when, you were eating that while he had his toast and cashew butter.
“Thanks.” You took the bowl from him and took a bite, still looking at the phone.
3 days passed, no call. A week, a month, a year, 2 years, 4 years. 4 fucking years it took for a call.
You were 17 now, on your last year of high school, living in a nice home with Luther, you two had one another, you finally accepted him as your guardian and you two grew very close, turns out you two had more in common than you thought, he was still no Ben, but he was Luther, and you were okay with that. Acceptance, what a chilling thing.
Your niece and sister-in-law were visiting. Claire, she’s the age you were when Ben went away, it was always an odd reminder of how long it’s been. Allison sat in the kitchen with Luther as they talked about what their plans were for Christmas this year, Luther was making them some coffee as the phone rang. You payed no mind to it as you and Claire watched your favourite show across the room, you both decided it would be fun to draw your favourite characters at the coffee table while you watched, it was nice to just unwind and be free with expressing via art, you liked getting to know the umbrellas too, they were all super welcoming and loving, even though they had their differences.
Your favourite was probably Allison though, it was good to have another girl around, she helped you a lot with things that neither Ben nor Luther could help with, she let you stay at hers some nights as your school was closer by than Luther’s place. Lila also had you babysitting her kids sometimes while she went to ‘Book Club’ and Diego worked, they were a great addition to your life too, you even became close with Lila’s relatives and it was mending your soul having people there.
Luther was on the phone for a while, you just assumed it was Viktor, but Luther kept glancing over at you every so often, which was making you worried, your mind wandered to various possibilities. “Uh yeah, but when will that be?” Luther asked down the phone, he then got a notepad and a pen and wrote some things down. This call was distracting you from the peaceful time you were having with Claire and now you walked over to the kitchen, which was connected by an archway. Luther glanced over at you again and continued the call. “Okay, yeah I’ll come get him now.” Him. You yanked the notepad from Luther which had the address to the pickup lot at the state prison. Your mind was racing, he was finally getting out, finally coming home. But you weren’t as hopeful to see him as you used to be. It’s not that you’ve moved on, it’s just that you resented him for not calling when he said he would.
“Wanna come with me?” Luther asked as he knew you’d put the pieces together, the prison wasn’t that long of a drive maybe an hour and 30 minutes. It took you a while to even make your mind up about that, but Allison held your hand from where you stood. “I’m sure he had a good reason for doing what he did.” She squeezed your hand and you just didn’t move, still confused. If he did have a good reason for leaving you in the dark it better be extremely fucking good of an excuse. Or else you wouldn’t let him off easy. Allison stood up and hugged you before she and Claire had to go back home and pick up Klaus from their house.
You held her tightly, knowing that if Ben comes back, maybe he would isolate her from her new found family again. “Bye, Allison.” You mumbled into her shoulder and she laughed slightly rubbing your back and pulling away to look at you, her cheek caressing your face, “He’s missed you, I know he has.” You just smiled, not truly believing that, she just held her free hand out for Claire and you just sighed knowing they had to go home, and you and Luther had to go get Ben, it was actually happening. “You can call me about it later if you’d like.” She assured you and that made you feel a whole lot better about it. You just gave her a thumbs up and she made her exit.
In the car with Luther was anything less than fun. He tried to play some music, tried to play ‘i spy’, as if you were four, and even tried to sing. All of which made you even more tense. You love this bafoon but right now was not the time, which he shortly caught on to. “I know you’re anxious, remember what the doctor said, use your senses.” You’d been in therapy for a while, having too much to spew to them, you and Luther figured it was for the best if you went weekly. You listened to Luther’s advice and focused on everything around you.
Then he began to pull up to the gate, and parked the car. He turned to face you, “Okay, no matter what happens, we will get through this together, as a family, and I know that once he’s back on his feet, you’ll probably stay with him again.” He smiled, but you didn’t even think about that, not much, not deeply, not anymore. You missed Ben being there, but you were free now, stable, even though you bought another hello kitty night light with the money you earned from your part time job. “But I’m always available if you want to stay.” He smiled lovingly, and put his hand up to high five you. “We got this, Kiddo.” He smiled and opened the car door, as did you, as you guys did that they opened the prison doors and released Ben, who was in the very outfit he was arrested in, as if time stopped and you were 13 again, you didn’t realise just how difficult this would be, but here you were, going through it.
Ben halted once he saw Luther, “Fuck me.” He muttered to himself, then you emerged and his demeanour softened significantly. You’ve gotten so much older, he’d missed out on so many years with you. You stood there, hands in your pockets, a little guarded. Then Luther, nudged you, “Go say hello. He’s not a stranger.” Luther smiled at you, encouraging you to do this, he knew that deep down you’ve been praying for this moment since he left. Ben walked to the end of the fenced prison and was by the car, he didn’t know how to approach you, whether you’d kick him, hug him or punch him.
“Look at you,” Ben frowned, regretting ever committing fraud, regretting not providing for you normally. “You look like shit.” You responded back to him, noticing just how run down prison made him. You had a right to be angry but Ben just didn’t expect you to be so cold. He just nodded and Luther stood behind you trying to figure out how to ease the hostility, but to no conclusion as you spoke again.
“Get in the car, we’ve got places to be.” You completely dismissed Ben, and he seemed like someone just ripped his heart out and played basketball with it. “Jesus.” He lowered his head and shoved his bag in the car, taking the ego wound and sitting in the back seat, while you and Luther took the front. The engine started and off you guys went to the birthday party of your other niece.
When the car pulled up outside the play area Luther thought it’d be best to walk in already and leave the two of you to hash it out in the car, until you were ready to come in. You mentally cursed Luther because of that, you didn’t want to talk to Ben, you weren’t prepared.
“Why didn’t you call me?” You sat in the front seat playing with the hem of your hoodie, and Ben sat directly behind you, it’s as if it were confessions. He just gazed out the window and remembered how he promised you, he swore to you that he would, yet never followed through with it. “I didn’t want to give you false hope.” He spoke bluntly, sending a harsh chill down your spine, your brother would’ve gave you the benefit of the doubt, would’ve called to say he wouldn’t be home for a while, wouldn’t have just left you wondering without closure.
“You didn’t go to my trial, didn’t visit. I thought I did the right thing.” He was so sure in himself and you just scoffed, exiting the car and attempting to storm away to the building, but Ben quickly hopped out after you. “Stop! Okay? We aren’t done here.” Your face was completely and utterly gobsmacked. “Oh, aren’t we? You left me no other choice, how the hell was I meant to know? Nobody alerted me there was a trial, I was practically fighting to survive, I didn’t give Luther a chance and now you’re wondering why I gave up on you? Because you did it to me first!” You yelled a little too loud for this area, children and parents walking to and from the play place.
Ben just shook his head, aggravatingly, “You just couldn’t wait to talk to Luther. Always, Ben why haven’t we talked to him? Ben open the letter, Ben we need these people. Now look what they’ve done to you. You’re just as spiteful as them!” Ben was always defensive, casting blame to anyone but himself, self righteous in a way, which you never realised until now. “Jesus Christ, do you actually hear yourself? And what did I tell you? They’re good people. The only spiteful one is you!” You pointed to him in a fit of rage. “I was a child, with no guardian, no home, of course I was going to reach out to the only people I fucking knew.” You screamed your hands waving in the air to get your point across, Ben needed this reality check, he was away in disaster land.
Ben realised the gravity of his arrest now, how lonely and cursed she must’ve felt, but yet again he wasn’t going to let her make him the complete bad guy here. “I was doing what I needed, to keep us alive.” He breathed out knowing you wouldn’t see that, you were still very angry, and torn, on one hand you were overwhelmed at him being here and talking with you again, and on the other, you’re deeply missing your brother, wishing he didn’t do what he did. You just wanted your old bond back.
“I don’t know what to do.” You shrugged, helpless to this experience. “But I do know that the people in there, they’re just trying to make us part of their family. So let them.” You were commanding in your tone, just hoping Ben would consider it, when you finished talking he was against it completely. “Have you forgot what they’ve done? Our family, OUR ACTUAL FAMILY, are dead! Because of those fucking degenerate assholes.” He crossed his arms now sitting on the bench by the front door, looking at the ground. “I don’t want to replace them with carbon copies.” His voice somber, making you remember The Sparrow Academy and all the things you experienced with your short-lived-family.
You sat by Ben, interlocking your arm with his, showing him that you were on his side, after all, that’s what the both of you were fighting about. Ben glanced at you before resting his head by yours. “I’m sorry I didn’t call…” he spoke quietly and you just sighed. “I know you are.” You just accepted that you can’t go back and change what he’d done, he was ashamed and took the cowards way out, knowing he’d have years before he’d face you again. He just didn’t expect you to grow up with the same short temper and stubbornness as him.
You loved Ben and you hoped that whenever you got to Luther’s place that night, that you could jump on the bed to the radio blasting again, just like old times.

Supernatural au idea:
Alright people. So my idea is that Dean and Castiel are both single parents.
Dean Winchester is the father of two children, Emma, his oldest, and Ben, the youngest. Emma's mom died when Emma was a kid, and Dean divorced Ben's mom due to problems in their relationship. (Ben's in his mom's custody, but he visits Dean a lot)
Dean also works at a body shop with Bobby singer and helps out his girlfriend Ellen and her daughter Jo at their bar. His brother Sam is a lawyer who is happily married to Eileen with their baby, Dean Jr.
Castiel Novak is the single father of Claire Novak and baby Jack. Their mother died when Jack was born leaving Cas to take care of his children.
Cas originally came from a VERY big religious old-fashioned family, and his children were around them for a time until Cas decided to move, not wanting to be around a toxic and strict environment. Which has gotten worse since their dad left.
So Cas moved all the way to Kansas, where he and his family moved to a house across the street from Dean and his family.
Dean and Cas meet along with their children.
Do with this as you will
P.s the children help pair their dad's up with the help of Bobby and Sam

Adoption Agency
Dean Winchester & Ben, Dean Winchester & Cassie Jr (OC), Dean Winchester & Charlie, Dean Winchester & Krissy, Sam and Dean Winchester & little sister!reader
Requested by Anonymous (x2)
Synopsis: Dean is forced to take care of a kid he hasn’t seen for a while—and one he didn’t know he had
A/N: finally another fic! This one’s pretty long. I have the reader and an oc in this one, this is the first (and possibly only, we’ll see) fic I’ve done with this headcannon character I’ve mentioned before; Cassie Jr. She’s the daughter of Cassie, Dean’s old girlfriend who was in (I think??) the first season. I’m usually not a fan of OCs, but Cassie Jr is kind of my exception. Hope you guys like it! (Btw if you guys want to see more of my Ben/Cassie Jr headcannons, let me know and I might hunt down my old stuff and put it in a Masterlist)
“Ben?” Dean lowered his machete faster than he ever had when he turned the corner and saw not a vampire, but a boy he considered his son. “Ben, what are you doing here?”
“Dean?” Blood drained from Ben’s face when he laid eyes on the only father figure he’d ever trusted. “I didn’t think you’d—I mean—“
“Ben look out!” Dean’s weapon was back up in an instant when he spotted a figure rounding the corner, but Ben jumped in the way.
“Dean, no! That—she’s not a vamp!”
Dean lowered his machete again, but he kept a firm grip on it as he glanced from Ben to the girl behind him.
“Ben, what is this?” Dean asked. “Why do you even remember me? Cas told me that he—“
“He did,” Ben interrupted. “But…but things have changed.”
“Dean?” Dean turned to look at the girl as she spoke. Something about her tugged at his mind, as if he knew her. “You can’t be Dean.” Her eyes turned to Ben. “Why is he—“
“We can talk about this later,” Ben interrupted. “But we’ve gotta finish looking before that vamp comes back.”
“Looking?” Dean asked, choosing for now to ignore the nagging question of why this girl seemed to know who he was. “Looking for what?”
“We took this job because a friend of ours had an uncle go missing in this area. We tracked the vampire kills nearby, and we’re thinking that maybe the vampire is keeping some of its victims alive as blood bags—that’s why only about half the missing people turned up dead.”
“Yeah, or they’re just good at hiding their tracks,” Dean argued. “The priority here has to be killing the monster.”
“That can be your priority,” the girl spoke up. “But we’re gonna find those victims.”
“I’m sorry, who are you?” Dean scoffed. He was surprised when the question stopped her short, and she looked to Ben for support.
“Later,” Ben insisted. “We can do this later. Look—“ he turned to Dean. “We’re going to check upstairs for any survivors. You can do what you want.”
“You’re not going up there alone,” Dean argued.
“Like I said; do what you want.” Ben turned, grabbing the girl by the arm and encouraging her along. Dean rolled his eyes and followed right behind them.
…
Dean wasn’t surprised at the first body they found at the top of the stairs—but the kids were.
“Just because one is dead doesn’t mean they all are,” the girl said. Dean grit his teeth at the sound of the shakiness in her voice; she was in for a rude awakening, he could feel it.
“Let’s keep looking.” Ben put his hand on the girl’s arm, and Dean wondered what the connection was between them.
“Watch out!” The girl spoke a split second before you rounded the corner and swung the machete. You froze mid-strike, yanking your arm back at the last second to avoid hitting Ben in the neck.
“Ben?!” You were slack-jawed before your eyes landed on your big brother. “Dean, what is going on?”
“I’ll explain later,” Dean huffed. “Right now we—“
“Oh no.” Dean’s senses heightened at the sound of Ben’s voice.
“What’s wrong?” He demanded, sidestepping his little sister to see what Ben was seeing. “Oh.” Dean couldn’t say he was surprised, but the sight of three more bodies in the entryway of the next room caused his heart to sink.
“They-they can’t…” the girl was gripping Ben’s arm, her voice quavering. “They can’t all be dead.”
Dean didn’t see why not, but he didn’t speak.
“I take it you’re looking for someone specific,” you spoke up.
“Yeah.” Ben’s voice was shaky too, but nowhere near as panicked as his friend’s. “We’re trying to help a friend find her uncle.”
“Then let’s keep looking.” Dean resisted the urge to glare at you for this statement—he wished you wouldn’t give these kids false hope, but he supposed you probably had plenty of false hope yourself; it was just a part of being a young hunter. You hadn’t seen everything that Dean had.
Dean trailed behind while Ben, his friend, and you forged ahead to look for any survivors. As he stared at the three kids, he couldn’t help the nagging feeling at the back of his mind…
The one that said that this was just the beginning—the one that said he’d be seeing a lot more of these kids, two of whom he considered his own.
…
Dean knew even before he entered the room that it was bad. He heard an intake of breath from Ben’s friend, he heard Ben’s quiet groan, and your “oh no.”
He rushed into the room just behind the three kids, cringing at the sight of half a dozen bodies strewn haphazardly around, all drained of blood.
“Cassie…” Dean whipped his head around to stare at Ben as he finally said the girl’s name. Ben was pulling Cassie into a hug as her eyes landed on a dead man near the center of the floor.
“Cassie,” Dean muttered under his breath, too awestruck to speak. That was why he recognized this kid—she was near identical to a woman Dean hadn’t seen for years.
“I take it that wasn’t a friend’s uncle,” you said quietly from beside Ben and Cassie.
“He was the only family I had,” Cassie whimpered. That sentence caught Dean’s attention.
“The only…” No. No way. He had to be thinking about this wrong, this couldn’t be Cassie’s daughter, because that would mean…
“Dean, look out!” At the sound of your warning, Dean didn’t hesitate. Without turning around, Dean ducked out of the way, stepping away from the doorway and lifting his machete simultaneously. It was good that he didn’t question you—not that he ever had—because the vamp missed him by mere inches.
You came forward swinging, but it was no use as the bigger and faster vampire dodged your attempted blow and grabbed onto your arm, twisting until the machete clattered to the ground.
“Dean!” You cried out as the vampire bared its fangs at you, but before he could spring into action Ben was there, ripping the vampire away from you and opening up Cassie for a shot; she took off the head in a single swing. “Thanks,” you breathed to the teens. “You guys are some decent hunters.”
“Which begs the question; why?” Dean demanded as he stepped closer to the three of you. “Ben, what is going on?”
“What, are you surprised that you actually have to take responsibility for your kids?” Cassie’s outburst surprised both you and Dean, but Ben just sighed exhaustedly.
“Cassie, you know that—“
“Yeah, you recognize that name? Cassie?” Cassie was ignoring Ben, keeping her eyes on Dean. “That old girlfriend you forgot about—my mother. After you left, she had me. And then she died—because she knew you.” Cassie was out the door before Dean could even begin to process her words. Ben was starting after her, but Dean grabbed onto his arm.
“Is…is she saying…she’s mine?” Dean didn’t look like he was breathing anymore.
“She is. And so am I.” Ben pulled his arm from Dean’s grasp and rushed after Cassie.
“Dean?” You grabbed onto your big brother’s arm, hoping to stabilize him.
“What’s going on up here?” The two of you turned at the sound of Sam’s voice. “There was a vamp downstairs, I took care of it…but it looks like I missed all the real action. I just saw Ben on the staircase.”
“It’s a long story,” you said. “Maybe we should bring those two to the bunker and have a talk with them.”
“Yeah.” Your words seemed to snap Dean out of his daze. “Yeah, I’ll go find them.”
“Let me,” you insisted. “I’m not so sure they like you right now.”
…
You found Ben and Cassie right outside the house—it looked like Ben was trying to convince her to go back inside.
“You guys should come with us,” you spoke up without waiting to hear what they were talking about. “We’ve got a bunker not far from here, it’s a good place to regroup.”
“With Dean?” Cassie scoffed. “I don’t think—“
“Cassie, hear him out,” Ben interrupted. “I told you, I don’t think it’s a bad idea to at least get to know him before you hate him.”
“It’s not like you’ve been searching him out to talk to him,” Cassie argued.
“Look, guys,” you butted into the argument. “I don’t know what you’ve got against my brother, but—“
“My mom is dead.” Ben’s word knocked the wind out of you, and you completely forgot what you were going to say. You’d stayed with Dean, Ben, and Lisa while Sam was in hell. You hadn’t formed a bond anywhere near as strong as Dean had with them, but Lisa was the closest thing you’d ever had to a mother, given that yours left you at John’s motel doorstep when you were a baby. When you and Dean got wiped from Ben and Lisa’s memories, it was one of the hardest things you’d ever done to walk away.
“L-Lisa’s…” you swallowed. “How?”
“Demons,” Ben deadpanned. “Of course, she didn’t know they were demons. She didn’t understand any of it, because she couldn’t remember.”
“Why do you remember?” The three of you turned at the sound of Dean’s voice—he’d come up behind you. You glared at him; he was supposed to let you handle this. But you softened when you saw the tenseness in his jaw and fists, and the pain in his eyes. He had heard Ben say Lisa was dead.
“Not long after you left us, I got into a car accident,” Ben explained. “Had a concussion. Whatever happened knocked those memories loose in my brain, and I started to remember everything that friend of yours made me forget. I didn’t tell mom—I knew she wouldn’t understand. But it didn’t matter, anyway, because she died not long after. You abandoning us didn’t protect us.”
“I wasn’t abandoning you,” Dean forced out through the lump in his throat. “I was trying to protect you.”
Ben’s expression didn’t change from a cold indifference.
“It didn’t work.”
…
Despite Cassie’s anger and Ben’s hesitance, the teens decided to follow you to the bunker. To your surprise, yet another teen was waiting for you when you got there.
“Hey guys,” Claire greeted before her eyes landed on the extra passengers. “Who are your friends?”
“Who’s she, another kid?” Cassie scoffed, and Ben shot her a look.
“Another kid?” Claire looked from the teens to Dean. “The heck are they talking about?”
“Claire, this is Ben and Cassie—they’re my kids.”
“Only biologically,” Cassie clarified.
“Cassie and Ben,” Dean continued as if he hadn’t been interrupted. “This is Claire—she’s a friend. What’s going on, Claire?”
“It’s Jody.” Claire must have decided her reason for being here was more important than Dean’s family drama. “She went on a hunt a few days ago, and now she’s not answering her phone.”
Dean was instantly stiff and alert.
“Tell us everything.”
“I will,” Claire promised. “But first—I recruited some help.”
…
“Charlie.” Dean grinned widely as he pulled the redhead in for a hug. “It’s good to see you.”
“You too,” Charlie said as she pulled away. “By the way, you have quite a good number of crazy kids in your corner.” Charlie eyed the troop of teens in the war room, including you, Ben, Claire, Cassie, and Krissy—who had come with Claire.
“Yeah, you’d think he’d be celibate by now just out of basic human decency,” Cassie scoffed, and Ben elbowed her.
“Hey, these aren’t mine,” Dean argued.
“That you know of,” Cassie muttered.
“Alright, that’s it,” Dean snapped. “Look, I know you’ve been through some crap, ok? But this chip on your shoulder attitude is getting old, especially considering I wasn’t even told of your existence until a few hours ago. That was your mom’s choice, not mine.”
“Oh yeah?” Cassie challenged. “And was it her choice to get killed by demons?”
“No.” Dean’s voice was solemn now. “No, it wasn’t. And I’m sorry, I’m…I’m so sorry.”
Dean’s tone surprised Cassie, and she went silent.
“I didn’t know she was in danger,” Dean said. “And I didn’t know about you. If I did, I would’ve—“
“What?” Ben cut in. “Would’ve made them forget?”
“Ben, you know why I did that,” Dean argued. “Your mom almost got killed—I didn’t want you to be in danger anymore.”
“Well it didn’t help,” Ben said. “They didn’t care if we remembered that we knew you, they only cared that you knew us.”
“I don’t know what you want me to say,” Dean confessed. “I put you in danger by being there, I put you in danger by staying away. I can’t bring your moms back—all I can say is I’m sorry.”
A tack hitting the floor would’ve sounded like a bomb going off in the war room as the two teens eyed their father.
“Prove it,” Cassie spoke up.
“Name what you want, I’ll do it,” Dean promised.
“This Jody chick. I wanna help you look for her.”
Dean was surprised.
“What? Why?”
Cassie looked from you, to Sam, then finally to Dean.
“Families hunt together, right? You wanna prove you’re sorry? Then let us be a family. If I think I can trust you, then maybe…maybe we can move on.”
“The last thing I want to do right now is put you in more danger,” Dean huffed.
“Tough,” Cassie argued. “Because that’s my only offer.”
Dean eyed Cassie, then Ben. The silence in his indecision reached awkward quickly.
“They saved my butt from a vamp back there,” you broke in. “They’ve got my vote.”
“Maybe a new start is a good idea,” Sam piped up.
“Didn’t realize this was a group discussion,” Dean muttered under his breath. “Alright,” he decided. “Let’s go. But you’d better not get yourselves killed.”
…
“You’ve been pretty quiet, old man.”
Dean let out a huff as he glanced back at Krissy—just his luck she’d ended up in the Impala when they were separating into cars.
“Yeah, finding out about a kid you didn’t know you had will do that.”
“Well, she can join the club,” Krissy said with a shrug.
“Club?” Dean questioned. “What are you talking about?”
“Oh just the half a dozen kids on this hunt that you’ve adopted,” Krissy said. Dean scoffed.
“I don’t know what you mean.”
“I don’t know Dean,” Sam piped up from his shotgun seat. “We seemed to have picked up a decent amount of wayward teens over the years.”
“Great, just what I need.” Dena rolled his eyes.
“C’mon—“ Dean had forgotten you were in the car until you reached up and patted his shoulder. “You know you love us.”
…
“So I hit a dead end trying to track her phone, but with her laptop I’ve managed to track her web usage over the past few days.” Charlie’s fingers were moving a mile a minute on her laptop keyboard as she spoke. She had a Winchester brother over each shoulder, watching her every move as she shuffled through page after page of Jody’s online research.
“Try the most recent search,” Sam offered. “Maybe she looked up a location.”
“Do we even know what she was hunting?” You questioned Claire.
“Werewolf, definitely.” Claire and Sam exchanged a glance—she was nervous. Her last encounter with werewolves hadn’t gone so well.
“Ok, she did look up a location,” Charlie cut in. “Looks like a passport office, except…it’s really sketchy.” Charlie spun around in her chair, and it gave you a view over her shoulder of a website.
“That’s a perfect cover,” Krissy said. “I mean, anyone going to a place that bad is probably looking to disappear—so no one notices when they do.”
“Sketchy is right,” you scoffed as you looked over Charlie’s shoulder. “Wouldn’t be surprised if Jody’s computer has half a dozen viruses now.”
“It did. I took care of them.” Charlie smirked. “She can thank me when we find her.”
…
“Dean?” You caught your big brother before he went outside.
“Yeah, what’s up?” He asked, glancing out towards the Impala before reluctantly looking back at you.
“Were—um—“ your voice caught, so you swallowed and tried again. “Werewolves…they don’t really keep hostages. What if Jody is—“
“Hey, no,” Dean snapped, but he softened when your lip started to quiver. “Ok, commere.” Dean pulled you into his arms. “We can’t do that, kid. We can’t lose hope.”
“I don’t want to lose her, too,” you whimpered. Dean’s arms tightened around you.
“We’re not losing anyone, ok? Jody’s gonna be just fine—we’re gonna bring her home. I promise.”
…
“I want to go in.”
“What?” Dean eyed Cassie suspiciously as he parked at the cracked pavement outside the passport office. “Why?”
“Why do you think I came here? Duh, I want to help.” Dean huffed at Cassie’s sarcasm, but he didn’t argue. “You can take me in—pretend you’re my dad getting me a passport.” Dean didn’t miss Cassie’s smirk at the implication. “Shouldn’t be too hard.”
“Fine,” Dean relented. “Sam, if we’re not out in half an hour—“
“I know what to do,” Sam assured him.
“Then let’s go.”
…
Dean had been in the office all of 2 minutes before he began to get nervous.
“I’ve gotta use the restroom,” Cassie had announced almost as soon as a man had come forward to help them.
“First door on the left,” the man told her; and she scampered off down a dark hallway.
Great, he thought to himself. I’m in werewolf territory with Nancy Drew.
Still, he let her go off to check the back while he kept the counter man distracted. He didn’t really have another choice.
…
“Do you think Jody’s ok?”
Claire’s question hit Sam hard—mostly because he’d been wondering that all day. Before he could speak, though, Krissy piped in.
“Look, I know I don’t know your friend—but from what you guys have been telling me, she seems awesome. I’m sure she knows what she’s doing.”
The tiny twitch of a smile on Claire’s face as she relaxed made Sam feel much better.
“They’ve been in there a while,” Ben interrupted. He hadn’t taken his eyes off the front door since Cassie disappeared behind it. Sam understood the feeling—the fear for your sibling, the helplessness when they went into danger without you. He didn’t know how Ben and Cassie got to be so close, but he couldn’t deny the obvious; they’d do anything for each other.
“Do you think we should go in after them?” Your eyes met Sam’s—you were waiting for his say-so.
“Dean said half an hour,” Krissy argued. “We should give them a chance to get some information.
“I’m not waiting any longer,” Ben insisted.
“Ben—“ Sam tried to reason with him, but Ben was already halfway out of the Impala.
You and Claire followed without a word.
“Hey!” Sam called to the two of you, but you ignored him.
“Ok.” Krissy shrugged, stepping out of the car.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me,” Sam grumbled as he followed the teens. “These kids are gonna be the death of me.”
…
Dean was in the middle of pretending to fill out paperwork, and he was getting impatient. Cassie still hadn’t returned, and there had been no sounds of struggle either. He didn’t feel like he could go after her yet though—not with the desk worker hanging around; it would look too suspicious.
The moment the desk worker disappeared in the back, Dean dropped his pen and stepped into the hallway that Cassie had gone down.
“Cassie?” Dean hissed. “Cassie!”
A thud broke the silence from behind a door down the hall. Dean rushed towards it, his hand instinctively reaching behind him to pull out his gun. The door was locked, but it came open with a swift kick.
Dean held his gun out in front of him as he entered the room.
“Cassie!” Dean lowered his gun as he rushed towards his daughter, who was tied and gagged on the floor.
“She came outta nowhere,” Cassie gasped after Dean yanked her gag down.
“She?” Dean asked.
“Yeah. This isn’t a one-werewolf job, I guess.” Cassie shrugged.
“When is it ever?” Dean huffed as he started to untie Cassie.
“Dean look out!” Cassie’s warning came a split second too late as Dean felt a flash of pain as something hit the back of his head; then nothing.
…
“They’re not here,” you mumbled to Sam as the two of you trailed a step behind Ben into the passport office.
“They’re fine, we’re going to find them,” Sam promised.
“How can I help you?” A woman with an unnerving smile greeted as she stepped out from a dark hallway.
“That’s enough of that,” Ben huffed, reaching into his belt and pulling his gun on the woman. “The man and the teenage girl. Where are they?”
“Ben!” Sam glared at the teen. “Subtle much?”
“Subtle was Dean’s plan, and now he and Cassie are missing,” Ben argued. “It’s time for my plan.”
“Fine,” Sam grumbled, reaching for his own gun and directing his attention to the woman. “Answer his question.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about!” She insisted, doing a horrible job of looking aghast.
“Sam!” You we’re halfway down a dark hallway by the time you called out for your big brother. He looked to see what you were gesturing at—a door at the end of the corridor. “Hinge is broken—it looks like it got kicked in.”
“Dean,” Sam muttered under his breath. “Krissy, Claire, go with Y/N. Ben and I are gonna have a little chat with this one.” Sam instructed. He glanced at Ben to make sure he still had his gun up before putting his own away and pulling out a silver knife instead. “First things first—let’s see what you are.”
…
You slipped into the room with the broken door, Krissy trailing right behind you. You had your gun—the one full of silver bullets—up and ready.
“Dean!” You breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of your big brother, even though he was tied up and gagged. He started shaking his head the moment he saw you, which put you on instant alert. Despite this and Dean’s obvious protests, you stepped forward and pulled Dean’s gag down, keeping your gun ready.
“Two of them,” Dean gasped. “There’s two, and I don’t know where either of them are.”
“Krissy, wait.” You held your hand out to stop Krissy from untying Cassie. “One of us should be ready to fight.” She nodded, stepping away from Cassie and keeping her gun pointed at the door while you untied Dean and Claire freed Cassie.
“Where…where’s Jody?” Claire asked once they were both free.
“I don’t know,” Dean admitted. “I haven’t seen anyone except the werewolves. Hey,” Dean put a firm grip on her shoulder when he saw her countenance drop. “We don’t know anything yet. There’s gotta be more rooms in this place. Let’s keep looking.” Dean turned his attention to you. Where’s—“
Dean’s question was interrupted by the sound of gunshots.
…
Only about a minute earlier, Sam was questioning the female werewolf about Jody when a man came charging into the main room from a side hallway.
“Ben watch out!” Sam fired two shots at the advancing male werewolf. One missed, and the other buried itself in the man’s shoulder. It didn’t stop him, and Sam wasn’t able to fire off another shot at him because just then the woman pounced on him.
“Hey!” Dean’s voice—followed by the sound of his gun going off—came just in time, and Sam felt the werewolf on top of him collapse completely, three shots to her back finding their mark in her heart. It was only after Sam shoved the creature off of him that he realized it wasn’t Dean who saved him—Dean’s gun was pointed at the now dead male werewolf that had gone after Ben—it was Cassie who had saved Sam.
Sam watched as Cassie and Dean shared a look—a look that Sam didn’t have to be a mind reader to understand; they had earned each other’s trust in the deepest way. They had both saved the most important person in the other’s life—their brothers.
“Jody.” Your voice snapped the lot of them out of their moment.
“Right.” Dean holstered his gun and turned toward the dark hallway he’d just come from. “Come on, there’s gotta be more rooms down here. Let’s find Jody.”
…
“Hey.” Cassie’s voice got Dean’s attention, and he tilted his head towards her. “I guess you’re not so bad…you know, for an old guy.”
Dean scoffed, rolling his eyes.
“I swear, you teens and your jokes,” he grumbled under his breath. “You’re not so bad yourself,” he admitted. “You know, for a kid.”
Cassie’s lips twitched in a smirk.
“Hey, thanks,” Dean said. “For saving my brother.”
This time, Cassie’s smile was big and genuine.
“Right back at you.”
…
There were three doors at the back of the hallway. The first was a storage closet barely big enough to fit the ancient vacuum inside. The second, a bathroom. The third…
“Hey guys.” Jody’s grin matched that of everyone looking at her. “It took you long enough.”
…
Charlie, Krissy, Claire, and Jody all returned to their various homes after a quick reunion and goodbye.
“So what’s next for you two?” Dean’s eyes landed on his two children as they lingered in the bunkered war room.
“We have guest rooms,” you piped in, but at Dean’s glare you retreated to your room to give them some privacy, an action followed by Sam a moment later.
“She’s not wrong,” Dean said, rubbing the back of his neck. “I mean, I don’t know where you guys are staying but, if you wanted to it wouldn’t be—“
“You’re babbling, old man,” Cassie interrupted her father with a cheeky grin.
“Ok, ok.” Dean held up his hands in surrender. “I’m no good at this, so I’ll get to the point—you guys have a place here if you want it; I know I wasn’t there for you for various reasons, but I’m here now. I don’t like that you guys are hunting, I think it’s too dangerous, but it’s not up to me. All I can do is let you know that you always have me to back you up.”
Ben and Cassie were quiet while Dean gave his speech, and when he was done they shared a long, near telepathic look.
“Hanging around a while couldn’t hurt,” Ben said finally.”
“Yeah, might even be fun,” Cassie admitted. “I hope you like teenagers, old man.”

Resident Evil 2 - Resident Evil 4
SHARED WOUNDS HEAL TOGETHER THE BEST: Leon S. Kennedy x fem!reader
Summary: Relationship development through nightmares and shared trauma.
Notes: English isn't my first language. I apologize for any mistake I made while I wrote this short story.
Warnings: swearing, referenced PTSD, trauma, mentioned death, described violence, hurt/comfort
•••
Half a night full of nightmares
Escaping the unsurvivable doesn't come with good feelings at all.
It didn't fill her heart with pride or joy after she survived all those monsters in Raccoon City, even though she almost laughed from relief when she found herself far away from that God forsaken place with Leon, Claire and Sherry on her side.
No. The aftermath wasn't happy and it definitely wasn't fun. It was sad, insufferable and painful.
The mornings were alright - she didn't have any problems with those, especially when she could talk to either Leon or Claire, or take care of Sherry. But the nights - the nights were horrible and the first few after the incident were the worst.
She saw hoards of the undead in her dreams, attacking her or killing the people she cared about. She heard the noises of the lickers and the turned dogs, but the worst were the loud steps, making the walls and the ground she was standing on shake.
On the first night she relived the journalist's death so vividly, she didn't know where she was when she woke up. She saw him backing away and then the strong arm of the tyrant pushed through the concrete wall, it grabbed his head and crushed it like it was nothing. She remembered how the blood dripped down to the floor, how his eyes popped out of their places and how they were hanging out of his eye sockets, only a few weak muscles keeping them attached to his body.
When she woke up she couldn't breath, her chest was heavy, her throat felt both tight and dry and she was crying, the tears quickly running down her cheeks. She didn't know where she was or who she was, her mind was too far gone, still living in the world of the nightmare, not finding the way back to reality.
Two sudden hands on her shoulders pushed her back to the present, to the dirty motel room with the lights on, but with the curtains closed.
"Hey, hey! It's okay, it was just a nightmare! You're safe, I'm here. Do you hear me?" Leon's voice was full of fear, but he did his best not to panic as he tried to calm her down. His words made her breathing slow down and she felt like she can get some fresh air in her lungs again. "You have to take a big breath with me, okay? In and out." She followed his instructions as he brushed a few locks of hair out of her face, which got stuck to her forehead from the sweat. "Again- breath in... and out." He made eye contact with her, making sure she's feeling better. "You can calm down, it was just a bad dream."
She nodded, now understanding the situation she found herself in.
"Thank you." her mouth felt dry as she said those two words out loud.
"You have nothing to say thank you for." Leon smiled at her reassuringly. "Do you feel better now?"
She just nodded again, not trusting her voice this time. Leon backed away and sat down next to her on the bed.
She felt awkward as she sat up, leaning against the bedframe as she pulled the duvets to the side, because she felt like she was burning alive under them. She hugged her knees to her chest as she looked at Leon again.
"You can talk about it if you want to. I had one too, you know... a nightmare."
She stayed quiet as she thought about what to do, but then her strength to keep all the fear in herself broke.
"I had a dream about the journalist's- about Ben's death... It was like I- relived that moment, you know. When the tyrant killed him." she explained as a shiver run through her spine at the memories. "What was yours about?"
"That we never made it out alive." he started. "That every one of you died right before the finish line and when I tried to get back to you I got attacked as well."
"I'm sorry."
"About what?"
"I don't know." she answered after she realized how stupid it would be to apologize for the whole Raccoon City incident, when it wasn't her fault - nor their fault at all. "For scaring you because of some shitty dream I had... For what happened or- I don't know."
"It's not your fault. You can't do anything against the dreams you have and I'm sure you did your absolute best in Raccoon City. We all did."
They smiled at each other, but it was a very broken, pitiful smile.
"I'll always be here if you want to talk about, you know- what happened."
"The same goes for you." she said. "Where are the others? Claire and Sherry?"
"Claire wanted to get something to eat and Sherry wanted to go with her. You fell asleep so I didn't want to leave you alone." Leon explained and then added jokingly: "And then I fell asleep as well so I guess we were both too tired to care about food. They should be back in a few minutes."
"Thanks for staying with me."
Leon just smiled and then stood up, walking towards the only table the cheap motel room had.
"Claire was able to get some tea from that nice lady at reception. Do you want some? I mean, it's already cold, but-"
"It's perfect. Thank you."
A few moments later they were both sitting on her bed, drinking that ice cold tea as they made sure the other was feeling better after half a night full of nightmares. Neither of them knew how important that little gesture will be in their shared future.
•••
The already full jar of trauma
The moment she heard Leon's voice from his bedroom, she was up, her bare feet were on the cold floor, not caring about what she had on or how low the temperature in their apartment was. Her reflexes, which became quite sharp after that horrible night, acted on their own accord, and the next thing she knew she was running to her flatmate's bedroom, not bothering to knock.
Just like she thought - Leon's body was sweaty and he was tossing and turning in his bed with an uncomfortable look on his face. All the tiredness was gone from her eyes as she sat down next to him on his bed and put one of her hands on his chest while the other was gently caressing his face.
"Leon?" she spoke up kindly, her voice rough from sleeping beforehand. "Leon, please wake up! It's just a dream. Leon?"
He suddenly opened his eyes as he sat up so quickly she had to lean back so he won't bump into her.
"It's okay!" she tried to reassure him as she touched his arm. "It was just a bad dream."
He looked at her, his eyes teary from both dream and sleep and the next thing she knew, he hugged her, his arms keeping her in place tightly, afraid to let go.
She was shocked at first, that moment being the first time ever he hugged her or was that close to her, but she didn't complain. She knew how bad a nightmare can be, how bad of a reaction it can get out of someone. So she hugged him back and stroked his arm as his breathing became more even.
"Do you want to talk about it?" she said, her face still pressed against his shoulder.
She felt him swallow.
"Do you remember Marvin?" he asked even though he knew the answer.
Marvin was still a fresh wound and a painful topic - especially the way he died and the why he died. The man was a hero; he saved them from getting eaten and he gave them the right weapons and best gear they could ever find.
She nodded, but the memories still hurt.
"I had a dream about him."
"I'm sorry. You had to shoot him because of me."
It was true and she'll probably always feel guilty because of it. It was her fault - her fault that Leon had to shoot him dead and with that add to the already full jar of trauma.
She wasn't careful and let the turned Marvin attack her. His hands were already on her and if Leon doesn't react quickly, he would've bit her right in the neck.
"It wasn't your fault." Leon said and after taking a long breath he continued: "He was already gone. It was between you and him, and he was already gone."
Even if it was a painful topic, she knew she can be thankful that Leon was there and acted quickly.
"Thank you for being there that day." she said after she pushed Leon back so she can look him in the eye. "But you can't blame yourself either. I hope you know that."
He nodded, silently saying that he does.
"Are you tired?" he asked.
"Not anymore, no."
"We can watch something if you want to."
"Yeah." she answered, knowing none of them would be able to fall sleep again. "That would be great. A shitty comedy would be great."
•••
Keep on talking
She was so tired she felt like she could cry at any little thing - yet sleep stayed far away from her. It didn't want to come, it didn't want to give her what she needs and covets.
Her whole body hurt from that morning's obstacle training and hand-to-hand combat - both lessons left cuts and purple, blue or even yellow bruises on her arms, legs and stomach. Her muscles were aching, screaming for even a few hours of sleep, but both the sleep and dreams stayed away.
"Are you still up?"
Leon's question was so sudden in the darkness that it gave her heart an ache from fear, her heartbeat becoming faster.
They shared a bunk bed together. Leon chose the lower part so she owned the upper one - but deep down she knew Leon made that decision so he can look out for her and be her guard dog until the end of the damn training.
"Yeah." she whispered back, not wanted to wake up the others.
"You can't sleep?"
"Exactly, but I want to." her voice became high pitched, so she had to swallow to keep the tears back. "God, I really want to."
Leon whispered her name, his voice was full of worry and that was what broke the dam. The tears started to fall from both mental and physical pain, tiredness.
"Are you okay?"
She didn't answer. She couldn't without waking the others up, knowing her voice would be rough and high pitched.
She heard him pull the duvet to the side, she was sure he sat up on his bed. Then his bare feet made contact with the floor and in the next moment she could see Leon's face as he grabbed the side of her bed. His expression was full of sadness.
"Do you want to sleep next to me tonight?" he asked quietly, gently touching her hand.
She nodded.
"Come here..."
She did her best to stay silent as she wiped away her tears and then climbed down, her arms shaking as she did so. Leon was there to help her, holding her, keeping his hand on her back as support.
When she was down he turned her towards himself, wiped the remaining tears away and gently stroked a bruise on her collarbone. She only then noticed that he had a few bruises himself as well, a purple one hiding right under his jaw, but she could still see it in the moonlight.
"Who did you fight with?"
"Why, you want to beat him up?" he asked teasingly, trying to crack a joke.
She didn't giggle, caring about his health and well being too much to take it as a joke.
"Of course I want to."
"You can have one guess." he sighed.
"Krauser?"
"Who else?"
"What an asshole." she whispered.
"What about you? Who do I have to beat up?"
"You can have one guess." she quoted him. "I had hand-to-hand combat right after you."
Leon didn't say anything to that, he only stroked her cheek reassuringly and then gestured towards his bed. She lay down on his bed and tried to find a position where she leaves place for Leon as well. He joined her moments later and pulled the duvet over the two of them.
"Try to rest, okay? You need it." he whispered.
"I know." she started. "I just got to a point where I'm too tired to fall asleep."
"Do you want me to keep on talking?"
"If you want to."
One of his hands found her waist and pulled her shirt down to cover her skin, and then through the material he started to draw different shapes into her. First a square, then a circle, a triangle, a star and then a smiley face.
"Did I tell you that Claire called right before we had to come here?" he asked.
"No."
"Well she did. She told me all about what she wants to do" she closed her eyes as he started to talk. "and about who she met. She asked about us. She was surprised that we became flatmates, joking that that's how dumb romance books start..."
She fell asleep right after that, her mind finally finding peace at his words. What she didn't realize was how she was admired while she was sleeping and how well Leon slept next to her that night.
That was the first time they asked themselves if they are really just friends or something more.
•••
You'll always have Prince Charming, cariño
Their first night together as a couple shouldn't go like this - with this heavy, burning feeling inside their chests.
The well known feeling of guilt made that night harder than ever. It's been a while since they were this afraid of falling asleep and it wasn't easy to get used to again, even if they both got a routine for those nights.
Taking a shower, getting dressed for bed, cooking dinner and then watching something on the TV - trying to do everything slowly to avoid going to sleep, trying to keep their eyes open so they can concentrate on the crappy movie, trying to not think about who they lost.
"We should go to bed or you'll fall asleep on the couch." Leon was the first to break the silence and the tension in the air.
They were both watching some stupid comedy on the TV, but while Leon was sitting with tired eyes, she was resting her head on his thigh. Her eyes closed a few minutes ago and she almost fell asleep when he spoke up.
"I don't want to." she started. "I'll have nightmares and I really can't deal with them tonight."
Leon's hand started to stroke her back and she sighed - being there with him gave her a peace of mind, but it also made her really sleepy.
"I know what you mean - but we have to give it a try. We've been a through a lot and we need to rest."
"I know. I just-" she sat up so she can look at him. "I just don't want to relive Luis' death... I just can't."
Leon looked at her like she said the exact thing he had been feeling and thinking about. He gave her a sad smile and took her hand in his, drawing the usual shapes into her skin with his thumb.
"Luis didn't deserve to die." she continued, trying to get everything what hurts off of her chest. "Even if he was always flirting or being annoying; he was nice. And he was really trying to do the right thing."
"And he was your biggest supporter." Leon added with a small, honest smile.
"No, he was our biggest supporter." she corrected him, letting out a giggle as she remembered all the things he said to her. "He was trying to make me see what our relationship truly is- that what you and I have is more than friendship."
"He was right, wasn't he?"
She nodded and the smile she had disappeared as she got back to reality. To the reality where Luis Serra is dead no matter how hard she tried to save his life.
She thought about the memories she shares with Leon and realized that no matter what they do or where they go, they always meet with tragedy and death. Those things overshadow their relationship and its development, not letting them fully enjoy what they have.
Luis would've loved to see their confession. He would've loved to see their faces when they realize they both feel the same way about the other. He would've wanted them to be happy.
Even if it's hard to be happy and smile.
What would he say? Something cheesy and romantic. Something like: You'll always have Prince Charming to make you smile even on hard days, cariño.
And he'd be right. She'll always smile when she sees Leon. She'll always laugh at his jokes. She'll get through everything if he's by her side.
"All right." she spoke up suddenly, making Leon stop his movements. "We can try and get some sleep- together."
"Together." he agreed and then leaned forward to press a kiss to her forehead.
God, Luis would be smirking with that proud, annoying smirk of his.
A few moments later they were cuddling under the duvets in Leon's room; her head was on his chest as he was stroking her back. She didn't dare to close her eyes yet, but she enjoyed the closeness with her lover.
Lover, she thought. It's good they had Luis to make them see they are better lovers than friends.
That's how she should remember him. Luis Serra, the best wingman the world has ever known. The bravest, kindest wingman the world has ever known.
"Leon?" she spoke up in the darkness as she closed her eyes.
"Yes? Is something wrong?"
"No. There's nothing wrong. Everything is fine when I'm with you." she explained when she heard the fear in his voice. "I just wanted to say I love you."
For a moment Leon's heartbeat and breathing changed, and his hand stopped.
"I love you too, darling. Now try to get some sleep, okay?"
"Promise me you'll wake me up if you have a nightmare..."
"I promise, but the same goes for you."
Leon pressed one last kiss to the back of her hand and then they both closed their eyes, trying to enjoy the other's presence, knowing they don't have to be afraid of nightmares. Not when they have the other.

TUA Fic: Witchy Prompts 25
Witchy Prompts via @myloveforhergoeson
25. Broomstick
youtube
It’s not until halfway through her first performance as Elphaba, during the blackout after she finishes Act I, that Allison feels the gravity of the moment. It’s quick but overwhelming as she stands there in the pitch darkness, a dozen feet above everyone’s heads, clutching the broomstick like a lifeline. Suddenly her mind is filled with all the women who’ve played the part before her and she imagines taking strength from the sisterhood. Imagines the mark they’ve left on the role and, literally, on the green-stained prop that has now been passed down to her.
Ray and Claire are in the audience tonight, she hopes they’re proud. Klaus has come too, and even managed to bring along the new Ben. She draws on the four of them too, believes she can feel their support from across the theater, and doesn’t even dwell on the way her family circle has dwindled. The stage lights come up just enough to see her company assembled beneath her as she’s lowered back to the ground. They beam up at her and silently cheer, enveloping her in hugs as soon as she’s released from the flying rig.
God, it’s been so long since she’s been in a show but there’s just nothing like it. Film work is amazing in its own way, but it’s so much more divided. Solitary. Now more than ever, she needs the communal experience of working on a show. Brittney, her Glinda, is smiling and crying as she grips her face and tells her how proud she is. The importance of their partnership specifically places yet another layer of significance on the moment. Never before in the show’s near twenty year run have two Black women lead the company.
Act II is another blur and before she knows it she’s taking her final bow, hands clasped with her costars, and waving goodbye to the cheering audience as the orchestra plays them off. The curtain falls and behind it there’s another round of hugs and congratulations until she and Brittney get to share another moment.
“I love you so much” She says right into her ear, holding her tight. “I’m so glad you’re doing this with me”
At long last they separate and Allison goes back to her dressing room. Her wig, microphones, and costume, heavy with layers and beads, are all removed, a literal weight off her shoulders, and she takes a moment for herself. Sitting in her robe, Allison draws a few calming breaths to ground herself in the moment before the Stage Manager knocks on her door and announces her visitors.
Her family spills in and three sets of arms are suddenly squeezing her tight, then two as Klaus steps away, and finally four as he coerces Ben awkwardly into the fold.
“Baby you were incredible. Absolutely blew the roof off this place!”
“Mom you look so cool! Can I ride in the flying thing?”
“Yeah! Can we ride in the flying thing?? Also, what about those costumes, what are the rules on trying those beauties on? By the way, simply incomparable performance, dear. Blew the tits right off everyone in the theater”
“You did a great job”
Ray gives her a kiss and Claire hands her a bouquet. Brittney pops her head in the doorframe, bag slung over her shoulder “Alli, you stagedooring tonight? Oh! Your family’s here, I’m sorry”
“No, no, come in! Meet everyone!” Allison introduces her people, hugs and greetings are exchanged before Brittney starts making her way out.
“I don’t think I’ll make it out tonight”
“No worries, I’ll let the people know”
“Thanks, Britt”
Allison keeps her arms around Claire as they continue talking. It’s not long before the exhaustion hits her, but thankfully Ray notices and graciously ushers everyone from the room so she can shower and pack up. He kisses her once more for good measure and promises to get Claire in bed if Allison doesn’t make it back in time. She kisses Claire good night, gets a hug from Klaus and a nod from Ben, and sees them all off.
Allison showers, dresses, and heads out for home, incredulous to think that tomorrow she gets to do it all again.

The Resident Evil 2 Survival Guide being weirdly mean to characters.
I've excluded Annette from this batch because she's already been pummeled with plenty of name calling by this guide. So let's see how the other characters fair!
Marvin. They're referring to Marvin.
How dare Ben not want to give violent birth to a horrific mutant!
...ok, this one gets a pass.
I... I don't think Ada has been injured or anything at this point? So, uhm... her brain is just dying, I guess.
Ugh, so lame of Marvin to do that.
I will not stand for this Sherry slander!
...because I am gonna go to bed!

If The Outlaws Had YouTube Channels (Part 5)
CHRISTIAN • Rebellious as he was, Christian made a YouTube channel a few years before he was supposed to at 10 years old, in order to impress and show off to his friends. He lied about his age to get it, but never revealed to this friend group exactly how he did it, leaving them to wonder in awe and be impressed at his acclaimed "hacking skills". • A lot of the early videos were just silly playground moments, and hangouts with people from his school. Ben got most of the limelight in his videos though, as Christian was always pestering him with the camera at school or on their outings. Even at that young age, it was always clear who the more responsable of the two was. • Christian enjoyed making those videos greatly, and the feeling of doing wreckless stunts and challenges for possible publicity always started a certain buzz inside of him. An excitement that he was all to happy to please. Ben often advised him against a lot of the things he tried, but he was too stuck on dreaming about potentially being famous for his content one day. People liking him for him. • Once he started getting involved with The Dean, the posts lessened and lessened as things got more and more serious, until the channel was entriely abandoned in favour of focusing on running the organisation he was put in charge of. His dreams of making it big on the platform were washed away and forgotten. • The channel is still up, but it's mostly inactive; Christian had forgotten about it almost entirely until recently when he happened to come across it again by sheer chance, and spent the better part of the day reminiscing on all the good times he had before he got too involved with The Dean. • Chris' channel has about 13 subscribers, all of which were friends of his that eventually figured out the same trick he used.
CLAIRE • Claire always had her own YouTube account for as long as she can remember, but rarely did a lot with it until her "main" (in amount of effort she'd put into) channel started picking up further, which was a channel for the Bristol Justice Collective, which she made about after a year of co-owning the BJC with Myrna. • The Bristol Justice Collective channel is where Claire discussing up and coming projects they are working on, how you can assist, and where. She often gets recordings of the events themselves to showcase all the details, and then reviews everything afterwards with her team to see how much progress was made. The channel was slightly hindered initially with Myrna's disagreement on what sort of content should be uploaded, but since giving ownership over to Claire, she took a step back from determining this, so Claire has been more free to post how she likes, and the channel has done well for it. • Sometimes the BJC channel would even livestream charity fundraising events or showcases of real life events, just to gather up support and attendees. • Her own personal channel is mostly vlogs about working on tasks for the BJC, or her other work surrounding it. From time to time, she'll mention something non-work-related, but this isn't often. • The BJC channel has around 5k subscribers and counting, much to everyone's delight, and Claire's own personal channel has about 650, mostly those who know her from the BJC videos, and some real life friends, family, and members.
SEAN • Created his channel at the start of a new year, deciding his New Year's resolution would be to reach out to and assist as many people as possible with his professional help. He knew he couldn't help every single person on a deeply official level, and tries to make this clear in the aspects its required, so the point gets across just fine. • The channel content was originally talking through certain issues and using different types of popular media as examples, since he knew people were more likely to understand the concepts when things were related to content they liked in this way, and these videos ended up being rather successful, so he started a casual series. • The popularity of this series was what inspired him to write his book, answering all of the frequently asked questions he got in the comment section, as well as even more unshared facts and explanations than before, really trying to make it as useful as possible. • From here, a lot of the videos focuses tmeporarily shifted from help videos to updates/tutorials on how he was writing his book, and what topics it would cover. These were slightly less popualr as videos, but they did well in his eyes, because even one person helped is still one person helped. • Sean currently has around 1k subscribers, his favourite of which is Myrna.

@scinglives continued from here.
“Of course I trust you with her,” Claire defended, even though she fully planned to steal the baby back just before they left to make sure everything looked just right. Claire fussed with the infant’s messy bed head of wispy blonde hair. The light color she inherited from her mother, but the crazy directions that Lily’s hair sprouted in every morning was directly from her father, and she handed Ben’s mini to him with a grin. “I didn’t think I could find your bed head more endearing until I saw it on her.” Claire rose from the bed, though she hated to do so, but the day beckoned. “I’ll see my two favorite people soon, and we’ll all go to the courthouse together.”
