Finally finished Oberoth, my dnd character! He’s a warlock with a very specific patron and is unable to recall his past other than that he was a dancer.

For those of you who are feeling discouraged at your progress, I’d like to present my timeline. On the left, 1 year on T. I felt frustrated that I wasn’t seeing any physical changes. On the right, almost 4 years on T (taken this morning actually lol). I felt ‘good’ on the left, but I was still depressed. Today? Even though it’s been a shitty week, I still felt happy and better. It’s wild to see how much as changed and how much hasn’t.

Even though you might not see much now, I promise you changes will accumulate over time, and eventually you won’t even recognise who you used to be.

Delilah Briarwood has been killed three goddamn times so... is she a lich??? Her official status says “Dead (zombie)” but she’s confirmed to be Laudnas patron, and I don’t believe zombies are that powerful. Laudna is a warlock of the undying, so her patron is most likely someone like a lich or a vampire, but I don’t believe Sylas ever turned Delilah into a vampire.

In Cr1E114 it was revealed that the reanimated Delilah was beheaded (and presumably killed) but the fact that she’s hanging around Laudna means she’s still here to some degree.

Jesus what if Laudna is something like a horcrux for her, or is somehow her phylactery? Laudna was definitely killed by the Briarwoods or by something related to the Briarwoods.... but then just. Brought back. And she doesn’t know what by, but she’s clearly close enough to Delilah’s voice to have a nickname for her (’D’) and seems more... amusedly annoyed? by her. I guess 30 odd years of having someone else in your head will do that.

Delilah is also a necromancy wizard so she could definitely have reanimated Laudna (either on purpose or by accident). Maybe that’s how Laudna became her warlock?

As much as I want Robbie to become a permanent cast member, I think Cyrus’ introduction was intended as a potential exit for Dorian. We know he didn’t necessarily leave his family on the best of terms but it sounds like something is going on there, potentially something dangerous. Maybe the people who attacked the Mahaan Lumas and the Air Ashari also attacked Dorian’s family? We know they’re fairly high up nobility.

Regardless, I do think we may be seeing Dorian exit, after which Travis’ new character will probably be introduced. While 8 people is doable for a campaign, it can be difficult to manage (speaking from personal experience here), even for the best of DMs and most don’t want to do it for a prolonged campaign. Even if Dorian exits now I don’t think it will be the last we see of him! He can definitely pop in and out as a recurring special guest.

Then again I do hope he stays and we get to see Dorian and Travis’ new PC interact. I love this groups dynamic so far its so much fun. And I really love the energy Robbie brings to the table both as himself and as Dorian.
