finally watched the london special and i can't get the last scene with ladynoir out of my head. the way chat's voice was so rough? like you could tell he'd been crying or screaming or not talking at all. he'd been through it with nathalie. and with plagg and.. and i can just imagine as the dust starts to settle and he starts to sink into himself.. plagg encouraging him to get up. to go to ladybug. because he knows thats what adrien needs. and what marinette needs as well. even if neither of them are aware how reciprocal that need is. she doesn't know his dad just died a "hero." and he doesn't know she's lying to the whole world to protect her boyfriend. but both of them need to be held by someone who gets it. who understands hard times and secrets and lies and the way victory can feel so much like defeat. so they hold each other. they lean on each other as they've learned to do and brace for what's to come.
